Nice place to hangout and do some dancing. Decent size and the staff was friendly. Bring a group out and enjoy your night. There is a dance floor and they teach you how to dance if you would like to learn. Keep in mind you will be learning the two step. Visit on the weekends around 10 or so for a crowd. Limited on seating so wear comfortable shoes. Very much into the western theme.
Wild west is a great place for country dancing. Houston has an amazing culture of country and this is a good place to find a good time. Wild West dance Saloon. If you like to dance come out to Wild West. Fridays and Saturdays get packed. There is multiple bars. There is dance lessons on certain nights. Good size dance floor. They also play other varieties of music throughout the night.
Our first time in Texas and some friends of ours took us to Wild West. Just like we imagined a Texan bar to be. Full of people wearing boots and cowboy hats. Neon signs behind the bar, your choice of beer and whiskey and pool tables if you want to get your game on. The place is big and has a huge dance floor where people would do the occasional linedancing if the right song was up. People having a great time and the occasional yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaw or whuuuu from the locals having a good time can be heard. Definitely with a visit for a good time!
GREAT PLACE!!I went here for the first time with a few friends the other night and we had such a blast. The music was awesome. I pretty much knew every single song that came on. Everyone there is nice and you don’t find stuck up people in this place. Everyone is dancing the night away just plain having a good time. It was a bit crowded so from time to time in rotation on the dance floor you bumped into others but nobody took offense to it or got upset. Everyone just continues to dance and rotate away. There were a few older guys there that were just dancing like their life depended on it and it just made me smile from ear to ear. I will definitely be coming back. I think I found my new favorite hang out place on weekends. Will be coming for the line dance classes 😊😊😊
A great atmosphere with a very friendly crowd. The drinks and entry are not too expensive. If you dont like the midtown atmosphere then try this place out. Two stepping is easy to learn for a beginner and you can only get better. Also, if you dont have a partner to dance with, dont worry, there are very friendly people that are happy to share a dance with you. I had a great time!
Wild West is always a good time. I love that they have dance lessons Fri and Sunday for 4$ and then they feed you. The staff is great and the atmosphere very fun. It a place for people of all dance styles and levels to come, have fun, and dance all night. The only thing I wish they had was a water jug on the counter so we didnt have to bug bartenders. Ill be there again tomorrow night!
As someone visiting from another state I had fun seeing some cowboys and dancing some fun country dances. There were some nice people that had showed my friend and I the steps to the dance which was definitely appreciated. I would have liked some more upbeat songs, there are better country songs to dance to than the ones that played but overall very fun experience! Our small group played pool and had a few drinks, the bartenders were nice and the place was clean and had a cute rustic feel.
Probably my favorite dance place in the Houston area. It’s a good place to go with just a few friends because there are always people there who will ask you to dance or who you can ask to dance!Drinks are also pretty reasonably priced! The only down side it that there are a lot of beginners/people who don’t know how to dance and the dance floor is usually pretty crowded. If you are going with a big group of guys and gals and don’t need to worry about finding dance partners then this place might not be the best (check out big Tex for that!), but if you are going in a same sex group I think this is the best place!
I come here almost every Wednesday, Friday, & Saturday for the past 5 months. The staff is very kind, the bartenders are attentive, & the DJs will play a song if you request it. The people that go are all very nice, most people know how to dance very well, if you want to learn people are willing to teach you. The music is great, pool tables are cheap, & good drink specials almost everyday. I always have a great time when I come.
Awesome spot. I visit every Friday and Saturday night. It get packed around 10pm all the time. I was here on Wednesday and Thurday too, its slower but it gets busy around 9pm and it not as crowded. Drinks are cheaper than most places, poured properly and the bartenders are nice as long as your not a drunk slob.Dance class on Friday starts at 5pm, its more than the usual line dances.
This is a great place. This was my first time here and very impressed. Sunday at 4:30 they have dance lessons and dinner for four dollars per person. Everyone is friendly. The place is clean. Definitely coming back, I want to see if I can trade one of my left feet for a right.
Went here to see a friend on her birthday and to share in the festivities, was turned away at the door for wearing a sleeveless shirt, no problem, I understand that some places require adherence to a dress code. My friend came out to say hello and offered me a more appropriate shirt that was in her car so that I could come in. Apparently this wasnt good enough, I was still barred from entering and now they wouldnt let her back in for associating with me... On her birthday.. After she had been there spending money all night. Thats not all though.. Brace yourselves. On the way out of the parking lot my friends and I shared some choice gestures with the bouncer who had taken issue with us, perhaps that was a bit pedantic in retrospect but it happened, we took our business elsewhere and had a good night with no further incident. You would think that would be the end to this story, but it wasnt. Come Monday the very same bouncer, I believe his name was Bobby Bender, called three of my friends places of work to demand an apology under threat of him showing up to their places of work to start a fight. Im sorry, but if youre working as a bouncer, one of the main qualities you should have is a cool head. One must agree, that the action he took after the fact, tracking us down and harassing us at our jobs is extremely unprofessional and borderline illegal. Theres no excuse for this kind of behavior and I implore anyone considering taking their business to this establishment to reconsider on that fact alone.
I’m a regular at Wild West. Only place open on Sunday nights, which is great. Provide free dance lessons a couple of nights weekly. Generally good dance music, except a few too many Polkas. Very crowded most open nights with the exception of Thursday nights, which can be a good night to practice. Low entry fees. All-in-all a good place.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Went after the rodeo, was pleasantly surprised to see different ethnicities dancing country music and doing amazing Dances. I wouldnt try if your a beginner on Saturday night but its fun crowd and good to people watch.
This is one of the better western bars in Houston. Its big enough with both a downstairs, upstairs, pool room and patio. Its does get REALLY HOT though, so find the fans or try to take frequent breaks from dancing. Bartenders are nice enough, nicer the more you go of course. They play the expected mix of country, interspersed with pop, line dances, and hip hop. The music will cater to an older crowd earlier in the night (before 10pm). Wednesday is ladys night and they often have food trucks parked outside. The parking lot is pretty big but if you go later or on a busy night its usually worth it to valet. This is my number one choice for western bar in the area, I always have lots of fun when I go.
Friday night visit and I was pleased w the laid back croud until 10pm or so. Then the patrons became either to young, to drunk, or both. The dance instructor was great. He really wants students to be able to dance. And he made sure we understood the basics. I will be going back!
I went to Wild West last Thursday with my friend around 7:30ish. My friend and I paid 3 dollars cover and got wristbands. As we were entering we were told by the door man that we should come back around 11 because thats when it got packed. We then went in used the restroom and got drinks and took a fun picture by the backdrop. A male worker came in (we thought he was a security because we saw him outside) and asked us how our drinks were and if we were having fun. We said yes and chilled for a minute and went next door at 8:20 (I know this time because this is the time the tow truck owner/security told us that we left). We came back to wild west to drink at 9:10 and to our surprise my car had been towed even though I payed cover, bought drinks and was parked in handicapped and used my handicapped decal. I was told by the security/tow truck driver that he gives people an hour before they tow and that I left at 8:20. I then told him it was 9:10 so why is my car gone? He then said he never said that and they could tow my car whenever they want...manager comes out is very rude just stands there mad and of course backing up her tow/security worker and let me know that I can come back and see her any day and that her name is Kristen with a K. My friend told her she was being very unprofessional. To sum it up they are unprofessional and towed me even though I paid entry, bought drinks and spent time in their facility. I then called the tow truck people to see where my car is and guess answers the security/tow truck owner that talked to us in the bar and outside told us that we had an hour before we should have been towed. An hour later and 220 dollars later I have my car and I will not be back.
Ive been there many times, and each time was absolutely fantastic. The ambiance is wonderful, unusual and amusing. It is not a pricey place at all. A decent amount of alcohol, plus enter fee of you and your someone will cost you no more than 20$ ( however, youd better to carry some cash with you because of their credit card policy, and on Friday you might need a bit more). It is a nice place to meet someone or just to spend some time with friends. For those who are not into two stepping much, they play cool country free breaks. Everything that you need there for having a good time is a convenient mood. (Ihmo)
Under 21 (the club is always 18+), so I cant give a good review of the bars, but overall a great country-dancing club. Pop/rap music is played after line dances every hour or so to get everybody on the dance floor. When I went I saw people dressed in country outfits and others in street clothes. Wide variety of people here.
Only six bucks to get in on a weekend at 11:30 lots of people there a good crowd good mix of people good country dancing and so good line and dancing and pop dancing. I dont drink so I cant really speak to the drinks but I think theyre pretty reasonable. Probably the best club near downtown Houston for country dancing
Ive always had a good time here with my girlfriend. We come to dance and have a couple drinks, thats about it. It is pretty clean, the dance floor is not overcrowded, and the upstairs area makes for good people watching. Cover is reasonable.
Large dance floor, standard accommodations, definitely Western but music was pop mix. Went for a private Christmas party so music may have been nonstandard. Bar was large . Drinks were ok. Surely not fancy nor large drinks. It was pretty nice . Clean and adequate seating .
When I read that they had dancing I thought it would be an even amount of two-step and line dancing. Honestly, the dj played nothing but couples songs for the first two hours I was there. Got there around 9pm. I liked that at 10pm they had draft beers for $2.50, but they really should correct it on their site because it says before 10:30pm. Later on in the night more people showed and they played some hip hop and rap. Im okay with it, but I honestly was upset about the lack of line dances they played. Not to mention, they allow an 18+ crowd in. I come from Vegas where the bars are all 21+ so Im not used to that. I like the over 21 bars just because theres a bit higher of a maturity level when it comes to hanging out. In my experience, the drama you find with 18+ clubs is not worth the $2.50 beers. Not sure if I want to go here again. Still debating.
Music and the crowd was great but Ive never heard of a place that puts a $50 HOLD on your credit card just to drink there! WTH? Luckily I had cash because I dont trust letting a bar place a hold on my credit card, goodness knows when itll be lifted. The bartenders looked like they did not want to be there, not fun at all compared to the bartenders at the many other bars/clubs Ive frequented.
They do a 50 dollar hold on your card if you want to open a tab and require you to show ID to open a tab with your card. Not a huge deal but kind of something to keep in mind. The one star rating comes from A. the fact that all the bartenders I dealt with were extremely rude. I put a twenty in the tip jar after getting only like three drinks. When I went for another she made a snarky remark about my not tipping with every drink I got. B. the experience my friends had after accidentally parking in a valet spot. It had no cone or sign around it to signal it was valet. Even after they parked no one approached them About paying for the spot (They clearly parked in front of the people in charge of valet and passed by them to get inside)When they tried to leave they were accosted and insulted by staff and security/police. Overall there’s better places to go for a drink and to dance without the hassle of the 50 hold and rude employees.
Ouch! $4.25 for a cheap beer now.A great place to go country dancing, west coast, and east coast style. Ive been there on many Sunday nights and Saturday. Sunday gets packed and starts to thin out between 8-9 making a bit more room on the dance floor. Saturday looks to be not busy up to 10.Beer prices are... very high. Hence the loss on a star.
Staff are friendly, and the establishment encourages friendly customers. Dress code is appropriate and comfortable. Music is in good taste and blends well. Busy but not crowded in an uncomfortable sense. New or non-dancers are not discouraged.Overall, very friendly and comfortable venue.
Young crowd, very clickish, not alot of quality dancers. Great place if you wanna get drunk and dance to club songs. Country and good 2stepping are rare. Songs selection is 2 to 3 months behind radio.
2 story if you want to chill upstairs. Much cleaner and much cleaner air than 2016 when I came last. No saw dust or dust hunting trophies. Very clean, easy to breathe easy to dance. Smoking porch if needed on side. Pool tables in corner. Come before 10 if you want to park close.
It was my first time and I had a blast!! I had no idea how to dance country but people were willing to teach you.. will be definitely coming back. Also, drinks were really good and cheap
Fun country place to dance. Get here before 10:30, parking is a pain. Cover most nights for ladies and gentlemen (certain nights are free for ladies, check w them). if youre a Rodeo Committee Member they waive the cover fee during rodeo season w your badge. Drinks are cheap and they always have some sort of specials. Downside it can get super packed.
Ive been to almost every dance hall in Houston at this point, and this is the one I come back to the most. Cant beat the great location, cheap drinks, fun staff, amazing regulars, and top tier dancers. They do free lessons on the weekends too!
I have been going to Wild West for a long time, and the atmosphere and dancing is always great. Hear recently though it seems like I can not go there with out my truck being broken into. If they would have security for the vehicle I would have no problem going there, but I never plan on going back for fear that my truck with be broken into and things stolen. The worst part of all is, they know its happening, and to the specific vehicles the apartments next to Wild west targets! So unless Wild West is willing to have someone to watch over the vehicles, I will never be returning!
Was not impressed, the dance floor was too small and it was overcrowded. Not to mention the parking lot was so full I was forced to park Vallet, then when vallet filled they started double parking cars infront of the ones in spots. Also with as much as my bartender was flicking his nose and sniffling I’m pretty sure he was coked out... so our group closed out spent the remainder of the night at stampede. Will not be returning.
Great crowd and atmosphere. Always good people to dance with. Also you cant beat free dance lessons on Fridays and Sundays. Plus theres free fajita dinner on Sundays!
Wild West is a great place for country dancing. Damico Dance offers free dance lessons on Friday nights and Sunday evenings. Its a cool bar with good drink specials, free pool on Thursday and happy hour on Friday. Check out the website for more details.
If Houston had a Statue of Liberty, this would be it. The Eiffel Tower of Texas. There is no other establishment that is more American, than the Wild West. From line dancing to traditional county music, to raunchy rap, the music and mood changes throughout the night. Yet, regardless of background everyone comes together and celebrates life.Drinks at the bar are priced fairly. The beer selection is exactly what a true cowboy would want. A few to pick from, but nothing fancy like a modern beer garden. We’re not here to discuss hops percentage, we’re here to drink and dance our hearts out.
So I’m in town for work and wanted to have a few beers and listen to some country. $5.00 cover, no big deal since they hand me a drink coupon from being a veteran. Thought that was pretty cool. Amber took care of me at the bar and I thought she was great.I go to settle up before I leave and my tab was only $13.75 (thought that was damn good) I left a $10.00 tip which I thought was pretty good. Now I don’t know if it was Amber or someone else, but I just got off the phone with my bank disputing the charge because someone put $50.00 on my card. Tried calling before calling the bank and only got a message machine.Really disappointed
Consistently great. Good simple fun for people who like country and western dancing, with some east and west coast swing thrown in for good measure. Have never seen any trouble and definitely no one drunk. Well done guys.
I am a hardcore country music and two-stepping lover. Wild West is not my first choice to enjoy either of these things. While its a great place to hang out on a Saturday night and enjoy music, its far too overly cheesy for my taste. The drinks are mediocre and the crowd is your typical bar crowd. Youll find a lot of overly confident males looking to poach on women. I am not saying there arent nice gentlemen as well. They intermix current top 40 music in between country songs. Personally, not my crowd but its worth a trip and showing to out of towners.
Usually only go on Wednesdays. But have also gone on Fridays and Saturdays. Been going for the last 9 years. Cover is usually $6 for guys and $3 for the ladies. I believe nothing over $4 on most nights. Draft beer is usually about $1.75. I think they just upgraded their cash register so that should make things easier. Sometimes they do have a long line but not that crowded inside. Theres a lounge and upstairs area which people dont use as much.
Went on Friday for the first time. And got my car towed for no valid reason. Towing company gave me 3 different reason why it got towed. So which out of the 3 is the truth who knows. They said I was attending my car, I left the property, I did not pay for parking... I did not park in a red zone, handicap, there was no sign saying where I can and can not park, or what business that parking belongs to, there was no one at the entrance of the lot asking for money either. I will never go there again. I was told this is a set up between the business and towing company for extra money. When I went to go ask the bouncer he told me not his problem and shut the door in my face.
Disgusted by my experience here. Some of the rudest staff I have ever dealt with. Two clubs in the same location and we parked one row over, got our car towed, and they could not understand why we were upset. Said that its not our problem, thats the towing company...so the fact that they dont even care about their potential customers is reason enough for me to never go back to their establishment.
I don´t go out much, went with my wife to this place, while there a girl was passing by shots in a very small glass tube, I thought it was a sample (like I said don´t go out much specially to bars) right after I drank it I was asked for $1.50 which is not a lot but felt uncomfortable for this cause never was told I had to pay for it and price was told after I drink it so I couldn´t give it back, she could have easily asked for a $1000 dollars right. This low business practice made me so uncomfortable that after I paid went to see the manager and told her about it, she got mad and started threatening for a next time, long story short they kicked us out of the place to me and my wife. Very humiliating experience, all to get out of people $1.50 more every night.
Wild West is one of the best places to dance country, period. Suggestions: please keep the dance floor in good condition, I had a few encounters with edges sticking out...the day will come somebody will get hurt...no need for that.I do like the sofas to get some rest...you know where I am going...please re-finish...doesnt really cost that much. Thanks
Guy pulled a gun on me in the parking lot. Only one security guy driving around, mostly for valet. Tried to let the front know what happened but went straight to voicemail. Okay experience in the club but damn I dont feel like the area is safe enough to come back to.
It was a Good dance night again. Enough of the better dancers to keep it interesting, and also good friends and smiles for socialising. A friendly and expedient staff to keep things flowing. The Holiday season is bringing out the best in Houstonians. Its a great place to forget most everything else at least for awhile. Theres enough of that Gallaria sparkle, but with a mix of a home town feel. Theres a good mix of mostly C&W music sets,so if one doesnt move your feet, perhaps another may.
The best place to go at nights in downtown Houston. Nice place nice people with nice steps and free beers as well free dancing classes. I spend my Fridays night here with beautiful young partners.
Wild West is as good a two-stepping bar as you’re going to find within Houston city limits. Below is what you need to know before you go:Music: Wild West is DJ only. After 9:30 PM, most of what is played is contemporary country music, usually whatever is at the top of the charts that week (e.g. Brett Young, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris). The DJ will throw in some older/Y2K country every now and then (e.g. Garth, Strait, Jackson, Travis), but these songs are, unfortunately, few and far between. You’ll also get a handful of Texas country jams (JAB, Watson, Randy Rogers), but again, not nearly as many as you’d hear at a “true dance hall”. Every 30-45 minutes or so the DJ will transition into pop music, usually with a line dance. These pop breaks last 10-15 minutes and serve as a water break for most of the country dancers.Dance floor: The dance floor is reasonably sized and, more importantly, respected (i.e. left to the dancers, drinks kept off of it). The floor is pseudo “racetrack” style (all the dancers move around counter clockwise) with two pillars in the middle. You can do your own thing in the center if you really want, but you’ll stick out like a sore thumb. They do not put sand or dust on the floor, so leather soled boots are a must if you want to slide around at all.Dancing: As with any country western dance hall or bar, partner dancing is king at Wild West. The bulk of the songs are best for two-stepping, but you’ll get a fair amount of polka and a handful of waltzes every night (the DJ clearly doesn’t want to kill the vibe with slow waltzes, though they are a wonderful change of pace). The line dances you’ll hear are the same ones you’ll hear at other “modern/city” country bars (Boot Scoot Boogie, Foot Loose, Copperhead Road).Crowd/Dancers: One of the best things about Wild West is that you so don’t have to bring a dance partner to have a good time. On any given Friday or Saturday night there are plenty of single men and women who just want to dance and have a good time, so don’t let your relationship status hold you back (single folks tend to hang in the far corner opposite the main entrance). It’s a younger crowd overall (mostly
Great bar, cheap drinks. Everyone just wants to dance. It gives a real friendly vibe, at least until about 2 when everyone gets real rowdy. But a great place to spend a night out dancing.
Came here not too long ago with a negative mind set about the place bc Im not a fan of country first of all and I dont like dancing. As soon as the night started me and my gf got approached by a employee offering shots when I handed her the cash and when she gave me my change I put it in my pocket without counting it (my mistake). As soon as she walked away I pulled out what she had gave me and she had shorted me for about 15$. The next 5-7 minutes I spent looking for her but since she was so small I couldnt find her. When I finally did I told her what had happened and she did not want to give me my money back. She said I had to speak to her manager. When I explained to the manager what had happened she was so nice and took care of me with a great attitude that it made my whole experience here awesome. I enjoyed the rest of the night and am definitely returning again.
Awesome. They offer free lessons on Sundays, cheap drinks all the time, and even though it gets packed Friday and Saturday night, its the best place in the city to dance.I read someone complaining about the lack of line dances, but this is Houston, it is typical to have one line dance every 10 songs ish. Sorry, but thats how it is everywhere Ive been, in the Houston area. This isnt Dallas. Also, Ive read people complaining about the staff being racist, which is absolutely retarded. Come in acting respectful and you wont be kicked out. Ive never seen a fight here, even though it gets packed with drunk people... So whatever theyre doing works.
Great crowd, amazing music and an overall fun time. Only downside is the bar wait time😒. It took forever to get a drink from the bar ladies.. but still highly recommended
THEY TOW THEIR CUSTOMERS!! My friends and I went to this establishment, and when we came out both of our cars were towed. They share a parking lot with Diablos. We started at Wild Western and then walked across to Diablos(Which is the Same parking lot) and got towed. Will NEVER be back here.
I used to go to this place for last 5 years , every week. but I wont go anymore because of the new dj . we used to have Andrew and Dana as very nice djs but this new guy sucks. never plays hit songs never answers to requests . i am gonna give a 5 star for the place but that DJ .change your DJ or lose your VIP costumers
Fun place! Everyone loves to dance and have a good time. Great crowd, very friendly. Ive been coming here for 2 years. Try the dance classes.
What is with the management here? The rudest people you will ever meet. I think Christina, a manager at Wild West, possibly has a serious drug problem. She came over to tell us to leave the upstairs area, which was not blocked off or marked closed in any way, and immediately started off yelling and snarling at us right from the first moment she opened her mouth. She was shaking and could barely control herself through the entire exchange. Management is not at all concerned with their patrons having a nice evening, in fact they seem to want the exact opposite. They look for people having a nice relaxed evening, completely minding their own business, and seek to destroy it.
This place is great! Love the atmosphere here, really like going to go dance some good ole country! Plus they got cheap drinks!!
Best place to go 2 stepping in town! Been going for two years and the atmosphere whether it’s your first time or you go regularly the crowd is always super friendly ! You will get asked to dance so be ready to two step your night away !
Had a horrible experience here. Went inside with a few friends, when I came back out my car was gone. They have a team of tow trucks waiting to tow cars. I explained myself to the manager but she pretty much just blew me off. 250 bucks later I decided never to come here again
Good variety of dance music. Primarily county dance music but other types as well. Eclectic crowd, variety of styles, cultures, and ages. I enjoyed my Saturday night visit.
Went to this place pretty much directly from the airport. A fun welcome to the city of Houston (though the hats, dancing & atmosphere are not really indicative of Houston as a city).Fun people and a good time.
I used to love going to Wild West but the DJ started playing less and less quality dance music, I stopped going to wild west and started dancing elsewhere. I went back tonight to Wild West for my buddies birthday party and although the music selection was better DJ still wasnt great(music even skipped and turned off at one point) they also have a new stricter dress code that doesnt allow backwards ball caps which is bs either dont allow ball caps at all or do but banning backwards ball caps is unreasonable .
Always have a blast here. Seems they play the same songs unless something is requested. Change it up maybe a bit. Some older songs? But honestly either way still a fun place to go and clean!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ! THEY TOW your car be so careful, when I asked manager the reason of TOW ? she told me because you did not first come to wild west ( without any respect to customer) ! WHAT???!!! OH Im sorry I did not see any signs that tell me I should sign up first in wild west before meeting friends outside, I will NEVER come back.
Super friendly staff who were very accommodating in hosting our event. The place was pretty dead on a Thursday night other than our group. Plenty of parking which is nice.
Always a great time for country dancing. Just go and have fun. Best drink specials on Wednesday and Friday... but there always seems to be some kind of special.
The free pass to the first 200 women on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 wasnt as advertised. It is more like, free pass to the LAST 200 women to leave the establisishment before it closes! Very disappointing! Truth in advertising pays off big time, Wild West management! No need to be deceitful. That is bad business.
Love it here on Wednesday, kinda classic Texas place, where people come to drink have fun and do the group dance...the crowd is usually white people with Texas wear, boots and hats.
If youre a cowboy type in Houston on a Saturday night this is your place on the Richmond strip. Its a big place, use cash. Ive heard horror stories about their credit card tabs for more than a decade.
If you are looking for watered down drinks, want to be racially profiled; then yes please go to Wild West. Ask for Shayna not sure if that is the correct spelling of her name and ask for the general manger I believe it Tecia something like that. I got about 15 of my girlfriends together there for a bachelorette party only to be told to leave because of Shayna the rude bartender. I was so embarrassed. The whole night was ruined due to racist staff and management. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE! I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS ON FACEBOOK AND OTHER SITES BEFORE COMING HERE!
This place is lame. They charge for a cover and they wouldn’t let me wear my hoodie inside when it’s less than 40degrees outside. I walk in, and there are other dudes that are wearing hoodies. Save yourself the time and go to Washington Ave or another country western bar in the Houston area that actually values their customer.
Good music, decent drink specials. Wear your boots. Cover charge but worth the price. We danced the entire night away!
Went to this bar and hung out for about an hour. Went outside and my car had been towed from their parking lot. The manager told me she had nothing to do with it.Needless to say, it would obviously not make any sense for anybody to take the risk of going to this bar for any reason.
A true eye-opener for a European man who had never seen an non-ironic country bar. great music, dancefloor open to everyone. Absolute must visit!
Permanently closed summer 2020, a victim of Covid19 shutdown. Used to love this place. Sunday was dancers night. Decent sized floor and cheap drinks.
Went for Sunday dance lessons. Great crowd since it carries amateurs and regulars. All friendly and just looking to enjoy ourselves ☑️
Dont ever use a debit card here. They charged me 3 times with their $50 hold scam and I only had 5 beers with my husband. So I payed $150 for 5 beers. Wow! What a way to conduct a business.
My old 1998 ford explorer got broken into..nothing was stolen but when i got to my vehicle my car was open and the dashboard was loose..it broke my light switch so i had to jerry rig something to keep my lights on ..other than that im a huge dancer with cw group..its one of the only places open on sundays..word of advice uber it so you dont have to park there
Was a much better country bar when they played less hip-hop/pop mixes. Still the most people friendly country bar Ive been to though
Great place for dancing and people watching ... get there early for great drink specials ... its also an 18 and over club ... so the youngsters can dance too.
Awesome place to enjoy a good dance, friendly peoples and great variety of drinks. Best choice for a friday night fun!
Thursdays are amazing if you are looking a smaller crowd/coming with your own group of people. Cheap entry, cheap drinks, and more space to dance.
Have been dancing here for 4 years now and it is hands down the best place to take visiting people from out of town and just to go and enjoy some good music and people
So much fun! Great drinks and authentic country western dancing. Dont forget to wear your boots!
Drinks were good and cheap but be aware that if you open a tab at the bar there will be an automatic $50 hold on your account.
Its a good place to have a good time. Entry is reasonably priced and they have good drink specials. It can get absurdly crowded.
One of my favorite dance spots. Great drinks and good beer. One of the best dance spots for country dance in Houston.
I went there to dance with friends, it met my expectations. (Under 21 at the time). Dance floor is big enough till later in the night when it gets a little crowded
Such a nice and old country club with special lessons on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Drinks are cheap and the vibes is pretty exciting.
I live this place. Cheap drink, great crowd and ambiance. Its great for going out and dance and socialize
Wouldnt let us in with a beanie in 40 degree weather. They wanted us to “coat check” them. However, cowboy hats and baseball caps were allowed
Greatest country bar around. The dance lessons are awesome, cover and bar prices are cheap and Ive always had a great experience.
One of the worst places Ive ever been to put of 100s of bars around the country. This place needs a visit from Bar Rescue, and even then Im not sure even they can help this place. Save your money.
Service is nowhere near acceptable. Just not worth anyones time. Old establishment trying its best to be the top bar. Not even worth one star.
Fun and laid back place to hang out and dance the night away. Great for couples and groups, not to expensive.
Had a great night dancing! People and the staff there are really nice and welcoming.
Always fun. Wish there were family spots to two step, away from the bar crowd but this is decent.
I Advised DIABLO LOCO Customers To Not Park Here ! They Will Tow Your Vehicle I REPEAT THEY WILL TOW YOUR VEHICLE . SIGNS ARE HARDLY VISIBLE AND WOULD HAVE TO INFORM THIS COMPANYS OWNER TO AT LEAST MAKE THE SIGN NOTICEABLE !
Fun time out with my fiance, but the drinks were weak. If you want a good buzz, you better bring a flask.
The only reason I’m giving a star is because of the bartender Chris! Everything else is fabulous, great atmosphere, friendly people and joyful music!!!
I took my first Western Dancing Lesson and thought that the environment and the instruction were great! A good crowd!
I had so much fun there! Everyone there seems so nice and willing to teach me dances I dont know!
Fun evening at the anniversary (36th I think) party night. Featured $2 draft beer for the special event.
If you want to dance country music? Then this is the one. They have a pretty good dance floor and good mixes.
Dont try wearing a white T-shirt... they will kick you out along with being very rude. They obviously dont know what a true cowboy or country boy wears.
If you love country music. This is the place for you! If you do not know how to dance but you want to learn. Also, this is the place for you!
If you arent a Western dancer there really isnt any reason to come here. If you do like to dance in circles under mirrored saddles then you are in luck!
Nice big dance floor and they have a room off to the side where you can have a more private place to talk, eat or whatever
Great place to go country dancing. Got asked to dance almost non-stop, learned a lot of new steps!
Great place for dancing. Friendly crowd, lessons every Sunday. A Houston institution, not to be missed!
Best place for Country dance in Houston proper. Lots of regulars make it feel like home.
Its an okay placed ok if you never heard Texas country before it modern pop country and rap no. And there is no Texas country unless asked for
Worst experience!!!! WARNING, Do not go there. The management scam customers. Your car gets broken into, could be even towed away from their lot. I rate it a zero, my worst experience so far.
Nice place. Drinks are a little expensive. And women who actually take care of themselves come here.
Local fun, busy, great place for country dancing. The food trucks out side are a must to try.
Better of going to wiskey river. Vibe here depressing. Its like high-school but with clicks. I mean its not a place to mingle with single people.
Nice and fun place and if you want to dance some country music this is a good place for.
Originally posted it was cramped, however after a couple more trys and few more cheap beer filled nights. The place really grows on you.
Never going back to this place; I was on the premises for a few minutos and they just towed my car for no reason. Talk to the manegement and they just told me to leave the area, they were rude and unhelpful.
Im a dance instructor and I love coming here to dance and socialize. It has good drinks and specials.
Dont trust any promotional events. Management will not post any details then expect you to know this is how it is always done. Highly unethical. Call ahead and talk to a manager beforehand, or be dissatisfied.
Fun, great music, spacious dance floor, pool tables upstairs.Great Staff, great drinks.-Star
My truck was broken into and all my stuff stolen. I had been going regularly but now Ive learned that breakins happen here quite frequently.
Why do they have to charge a door fee to all. Should think of something better specially if they are going to drink
Authentic place to have fun in Houston. Great crowd! Warning, you WILL square dance 😃!
I am moving to the suburbs of Houston Texas in the spring of 2020 I hope &I cant wait to meet you all&I cant wait to make some new friends their &I hope I make new friends their&I hope their isnt any attitude with the employees or managers or patrons &I hope I have a blast their.
Great place to enjoyed county songs and good prices on drinks and the cover charge is cheap.
Cheap drinks and great music, definitely a great place to check out on the weekend.
Friendly staff. Great for all age ranges. Very fun and friendly atmosphere.
Always a fun place to go. Dance lessons on Friday & Sunday.
Loved the weekend party! The place is Clean, big, and lots of fun
Pretty decent place to go 2-step, although they dont strictly play country music.
They charged me the 50$ 4 days after I left bar despite the fact I paid my tab and tipped my waitress 10$ ; WILL NOT COME AGAIN NO OTHER BAR IN HOUSTON DOES THIS WITH A 50$ HOLD SCAMMERS!!!!
Great place for food & fun. Even better for dance lessons and buffet to follow !!
I come here with my girlfriends all the time! The atmosphere is great, the guys are polite, and the employees are attentive.
Great spot for fun and country dancing. Everyone seems to always feels welcome!
Great places to dance and socialize, give you a good feeling, come on, friends, find your happiness, forget the unpleasant past.
You’ll likely get towed if you park off the property. The establishment itself is also usually crowded.
It was OK but there was a problem with some ppl that came to the entrance and the guard that ask us to get out was rude! Like it was our fault
Had a great time! Loved the bar service from Chris! 5 stars!
Great Two Step dance hall!!!..... i always return there and bring family and friends when possible.
The environment was pleasant and the music was good.Service at the bar was rather slow.
Nice place to have a classical country experience, but no food served inside.
Great place to dance! Awesome atmosphere and great dance floor.
Best price drinks for a load of fun, highly recommended on Wednesday and Fridays
Good place to meet others, terribly sized dance floor and if youre actually country this place is the wrong place to go.
If youre looking for Texan music this is the place! Great bar service too!
Thursday night isnt too crowded, drinks are cheap but low quality.
Went there for a dancing lesson. Very good teacher. Enjoyed thoroughly.
This place is awsome!! I love it. Nice music, great vibes.
Its always a great time evrytime I go how ever the bar needs customer service
Good country bar with happy hour and group meeting places!
Great place to country dance and drink prices are reasonable.
Fantastic place to dance. If floor was bigger would be 5 star
Having a friends birthday party here & they totally hooked us up! Thanks Shelly!
Is the best place in Houston for dance, i love it 💃 good drinks and music 👏👏
Great place to two-step and enjoy some good country music.
Have been dancing here for years. Great place!
Safe place to go if you do not know the Houston nightlife.

Beautiful ladies, great drinks & fun atmosphere.
For my first time going just wow... Everything was just awesome and I will for sure be going again...
Big open dance floor lots of people to dance with fun fun good price to get in
Great place, had everything you would be expecting from a bar
This place is fun, music is great. Ladies bathroom is clean!!
Fun bartenders. Laid back crowd. Good mix of music
Country bar that plays hip hop between country sets. It gets pretty packed certain nights.
Great place to grab drinks, dance, and make new friends
Needs dress up and a better selection of drinks (beers and mixed)
I bought two drinks and bill was fifty dollars. Not happening soon as they open I’m calling.
Great place to dance and have a couple drinks
Nice place cheap drinks patio with tables and chairs
Always a fun place to dance and meet new people
If it wasnt for my friends that I visit, I wouldnt ever see it as anywhere near an ideal place to attend.
Good music good atmosphere lots of very attractive women
Love this place. Great music. The workers are amazing
2steps best spot of Houston. Go and dance, it is really fun.
