I usually try not to leave negative reviews but a few weeks ago I scheduled an appt with a massage therapist and they cancelled on me within 1 hour of my appointment (unfortunately I didn’t see their message so I drove all the way there for nothing).. they said the person “wasn’t feeling well”.. whatever, it happens. Tonight I scheduled an appointment (with the same massage therapist I believe) and now, half an hour beforehand- they send me the same message saying he doesn’t feel well and needs to cancel. Both times were weekend evenings. I am speculating they just don’t want to work that late on weekend nights seeing as they were fine all day until my last appointment (which is fine, but then don’t have the option to schedule so late). I scheduled my whole evening around this appointment. And they again let me know with not a good amount of time. Truly disappointed.
I completed my internship with them today, and everyone was so nice. The front desk and the managers were amazing and very helpful at all times. I will definitely recommend clients to them.
I try to come back at least once a month every time I go everyone’s kind welcoming and when I leave, I feel 100 times better. I recommend this place to friends, family, and coworkers all the time

I most definitely don’t like to leave negative reviews, but this is necessary. This establishment does not take very well care of their members. I’ve been a member at this establishment since December 2019 until today. This company does not care if you are sick. If you have a family emergency, they will still take your monthly credit if you don’t show up. Keep in mind I was very very ill. It’s no way that in my mind I’m thinking about my appointment at this establishment so therefore they charge me a full credit. I can pay half the credit for the masseuse to still get their pay for that day, but not the full credit being charged. The manager Leah was very inconsiderate and lack of compassion towards the members. Usually I’m always at my appointment. Policy is in place to be followed understood but what is the proper procedure if someone is sick.
Wonderful wonderful experience! Ive been back again and again. I also gift my loved ones often. Experience definitely depends on who your masseuse is!
The massage was good place clean n friendly. but services are not available much have to wait couple weeks to get in for appointments so dont waste your time or money on membership just pay as you go
My wife has a bad back and I discussed, in details, what she needed with the front desk person (masusse advertises deep tissue, but needed Med/light pressure). After the massage, my wifes back was nearly out and the details of my conversation went unheard. She was hurting after the massage instead of the relaxing expereince she was supposed to have :(
I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews however, I will say that to whoever reads this please be careful what you are signing when going to this place. I wasn’t aware nor informed at the beginning that I was entering into a contract agreement of which I CANNOT cancel unless provided a dr notice of cancellation or if I move more than 25 miles away. This is something that should be made very clear at the beginning to all customers who wish to continue their business because it causes issues later on. I informed them that I didn’t have the funds to continue paying for service yet they continued to harass me by charging my card numerous times and even went so far as to call me to obtain an updated method of payment. I will be ensuring that I get a dr. Notice to send to them to cancel membership and will no longer be returning to neither this location nor any other massage envy’s that are around due to deception. As a customer I should be made aware where my money is going and if I am unable to make payments due to personal circumstances then it should be granted. This place is horrible and not worth the time or effort. Everyone please pay attention and be sure to read the fine print.
Charles is the man. He knows how yo work out those problem areas and make your massage one to remember. Will be going back.
Amelia was wonderful! She put me at ease right away and refrained from making conversation during the massage. I also appreciated how she checked in periodically to make sure pressure and temperature were what I liked, and kept moving at a smooth, quick pace. She is very skilled, and devoted the perfect amount of time to my tensest muscles.The only thing I didnt like was how the woman at the front desk wanted to discuss at length the recommendations for future appointments and the membership. I would love to know about those, but discussing right after a massage while my brain is trying to wake up makes me feel as tho she was trying to take advantage of my sleepy state. I will be sure to ask about membership prior to the start of my next appointment, not after.Still...5 stars because Amelia was so great!!
I have been a ME member for many years. I have never had one single problem. The staff is always courteous, dont push extra services. I appreciate the reminder calls. My masseuse, Beth Ann, is terrific. The venue is clean and neat.
On my last visit, I asked for some water before we got started and was told they arent providing water at all. Since all of the therapists push water following a massage, I found that pretty amazing. If you arent going to provide cups or water claiming sanitary issues, then seems like with the money you are saving on cups and a water dispenser, you could provide bottled water. I do love my therapist though.
Karen provided me with the best massage Ive had in years! Perfect pressure and I loved her technique. My only suggestion would be to warm the lotion a bit on a chilly day like today. Thank you!
I had the most amazing experience at this spa. Everyone was so over-the-top friendly, unlike many spas Ive been to in the past. I had one of the best massages ever followed by an out-of this-world facial. And the best part is the price is so reasonable. I just had to become a member so I can frequent this facility. Kudos to the entire staff for making my day so stress-free.
Ashley maybe? I had an appointment with her on Sunday a couple weeks ago. I tried over and over to communicate what I wanted, and no strength. Im going to quit my membership because last 4 times I have had the same issues. Ive had people Id regular see. I get massage regularly. Staff comes and goes a lot.
I had the same issue as Car Berry. Absolutely horrible customer service - never got a reminder phone call and didnt know there was an issue until I called to book an appointment. No cancellation options. The manager was not only rude when I tried to clear up the issue, but was clearly multitasking. Someone has clearly failed to train this massage envy staff in customer service.I plan to settle up, use up my final massages with my favorite therapist, and cancel. Massage envy has been nothing but hassle after hassle in the 10 years I have been a customer. Im sure I can put my money to better use with someone in private practice!Also its 2017, get with the system on this technology piece. All it would have taken was an auto generated email reminder to prevent this issue.
Excellent facility. Very clean, professional. Katrina is my therapist, she has been with MA for many years. Gave me relief for a very serious problem I am having. Look forward to many visits and feeling way more relaxed.

Upon arriving for my appointment, the receptionist the greeted me at the front counter 10/15/21 @ approximately 6pm, was very rude and unprofessional and treated me as if I didnt belong in this establishment. I told her, I was there for my appointment and she rolled her eyes and stated well I need a name for the appointment...at that point, I was extremely annoyed and angered thinking about the fact that I was about to spend money to have a relaxing experience and having to be stressed and disrespected before my appointment. When she realized I was male, coming to be massaged by a male masseuse, I could tell she was even more disgusted. I will not be back at this location even though its close to my house.
I just reviewed the last review I left 2 weeks ago due to the fact that I was about to write another bad review due to the event that took place on 4/19/19. I went into Massage Envy Avon to put in my cancellation request which was sent to me via email so that I could hand it in and it be put on file early due to my bad memory I wanted it completed before I forgot. This had been sent to me by the manager of the store who called me to resolve my last issue with my contract end date being projected to end sometime in Jan 2020. Which was the wrong date given to me by a new employee. Now when talking to the manager she stated to me during that call that my end date was indeed July 2019 and I would have no issues with this date and all i needed to do was hand in my form before the contract renews. Well, that was clearly a lie because when I went into Massage Envy Avon on 4/20/19 I was told by the assistant manager that my end date was 10/2019 and not 6/2019.I immediately became frustrated because I thought this was all worked out. So i asked nicely to speak with the manager and if the manager could take this matter over from her. Little did i know that the lady sitting next to her on the phone was the manager. she stepped in and I told her my name and she said that it was no need for her to take over this issue that I am having and the lady that was helping me was the assistant manager and she fully trusted her and what she was telling me. Both of these women went through my account and stated that indeed 10/2019 was my end date and the manager even stated that she was the one she spoke too. Now, how all of a sudden the date has changed?? She no apologies for the problem or anything. She continued on with helping this young lady fill out my paperwork.When i began to ask about the credits and how they would be used and If i could cancel them at the same time my contracts ends. Because I no longer want anything to do with this company. She (the manager) proceeds to tell me that she, Doesnt understand the lingo,that I am using to speak! As an African American women I found this very offensive and racial because I was speaking English to her and she constantly cut me off when I was talking. I had not issues with the assistant manager doing her job. But i think I could have been dealt with in another way. I was neither rude, violent, or disrespectful towards them. And this is what I had to go through. All i want is this issue resolved and my time with this company OVER!!!!!!!!!~!~!~
Katrina was amazing; open and empathetic and healing in ways that supported both my mental and physical well-being. The absolute best massage of my life, hands down, no context. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I was a customer of over 5+ years. My work schedule had changed and I could not get the time to schedule any massages. I had over 6 hours of massages and tried to use up most of them before canceling my membership as you will loose those hours. Even though you already paid for them and there isnt a way to cash then out into gift cards or other form of credit.After canceling, I was still charged $65 as it took 10 days to process the cancelation form which in this day and age should be instantaneous.Of the 5 years I was there I only found one massage therapist that was awesome at her job. Unfortunately I wasnt the only one to know this so she was hard to get scheduled with. The staff at the front desk use to be friendly but over time would get replaced with people who didnt seem to want to be there or try to be nice for the 2 minutes that you would have to deal with them. This place use to be a good business and had friendly people but they seem to be about the money and less about the customers.
(I am under my husbands account) I came to massage envy to get a prenatal massage because my normal lady is injured and isn’t seeing clients at the moment. I have had a horrible headache radiating in my head, neck, and shoulders. I asked to have her focus on that area. She only stayed on my shoulders and didn’t touch my neck or head. She even asked me before hand to make sure I was okay with her touching my head and face. Before I knew it the massage was over and she didn’t even work on my neck and head. I told her I didn’t feel any better because she didn’t work on getting rid of my headache. She said she tried to work on getting the tension away and it might be going up into my neck. Well yeah, because you didn’t even touch my neck. Ugh. I’m so frustrated and upset. I still have a headache. I will never there again.
I scheduled a prenatal massage for my wife for Valentines Day. I spoke with 2 different individuals from this location about the massage and both failed to mention she needed to be in her second trimester. She arrived for her appointment and they tell her as she is filling out paperwork. She asked if there was anything they could do other than the massage and they wanted to schedule her 2 hours later for something small. Very unprofessional and a waste of time. Zero customer service skills too. The confirmation call I received was a joke, she was rude and very short with me. Wont be giving them my business.
Hello,I have called several times today and no one has ever answered the phone at corporate headquarters so here is my complaint.Husband signed up for the massage program in 2013, went about 4 times a year since then. Some time in the last year our credit card expired. No one ever told him by phone, text, email or when he went in for a massage. Instead they waited until the bill racked up to $500 and found one of our open credit cards to charge on 5/10/17. On 5/12/17, Anna, at Massage Envy in Avon, IN told me that it was not their responsibility to contact us. However, she seemed to feel it was their responsibility to hunt down our open credit card and charge $505 to it!!!
I just had the best massage of my life with Jay at Massage Envy. He gave individual attention to muscles that most other masseurs only hit as a group. He positioned my arms and legs to provide the appropriate tension to massage muscles that are normally overlooked. I normally ask for deep tissue massage because I want to release the tension in my muscles. Jay did a wonderful job of balancing deep tissue pressure and a lighter pressure depending on what was appropriate for the muscle group and location. I am very impressed!
OMG. My mother is a massage therapist that Ive been seeing for years, but is out due to covid. Vicky at this location is absolutely amazing! The staff is as well. I went in feeling terrible and leaving back on top. Amazing products as well !

Hands down, the WORST massage I have ever received. The masseuse (If you can call him that) only used one hand at a time and did the same 4 motions in the same 4 spots for the entire hour. All the while he NEVER stood up off his stool. When I informed the manager I was told that he wasnt the right fit for me because he does relaxation massage and not therapeutic. What?? First, shouldnt he know both techniques as a masseuse? Second, he did not do either. It was not relaxing or therapeutic. Such a waste of money!!
I guess I truly wished I had researched this business a lot more prior to signing a contract. This place is trash! The customer service sucks! The management talks to you in a very patronizing tone and is inflexible--whatever happened to customer satisfaction??? They ask for survey feedback--but when given youre countered with excuses, blamed for misunderstanding or given empty, callous, passive responses. Please dont enroll in this service. Youve been warned!

I tried to schedule an appointment for 9 and they called me back and told me if i can’t make it by 8:30 they couldn’t see me so i told them my brother might be able to take me. i accidentally fell asleep and forgot to call them back to let them know i wouldn’t be able to make it so they took half of my money off of my gift card.i definitely won’t be back.
When I went in for my monthly massage I made a big point of how nice the hot towel and Biofreeze treatment was and that I wanted it again. I was told they would add it. My therapist asked me if I wanted the same as last time and I said I DID (which included the hot towels and Biofreeze). The massage came to an end and I asked when I would get the special treatment. I was told it was not listed. I dont know who dropped the ball, but NOTHING was offered to correct the error and make THEIR mistake right. ---------- AND ------- Then today (9/29/17) I was scheduled for a two hour massage and when I called to confirm the time, I was told they didnt have me down. This is the SECOND time they have scheduled me and then tell me I wasnt scheduled. This is VERY BAD BUSINESS.
Just called to pay my membership and to see how long i had until my membership was over. I was hit with a long Jan 2020...when it was suppose to be over in July. Well it seems that when I lost my job and was unable to pay the months that i didnt pay rolled over. This was something that I dont think I was made aware of. I am beyond frustrated with this because I had a life changing event that I thought I was being helped with and now I see that all it did was prolong this. When I set up this membership I was made aware that I couldnt just cancel it..which was weird to me there were like two ways I could cancel it. But if I lose my job and can no longer pay...what can I do. So now I am locked in until 2020..it is just 2019 (April). I have learned my lesson and when this is over I will no longer be a member of this establishment. The worse!!!
Loved Lamar for massage therapy, but the skin care lady is not much. Ended my membership after a year. Only complaint is the skin care offerings and hard to get lamar.

Avoid Massage Envy .. and by all means dont sign up for a membership! Its entirely based upon you forgetting about it and paying forever. Theyve made it very difficult to cancel even after the contract is over. Never going to spend a cent with this company again.

Started a membership for facials every month but they cant keep estehticians on staff, so they wanted to make me go to another salon farther away... i declined the drive and just wanted to cancel my membership which they wouldnt let me do even though they fail to provide the staff for my service -- ridiculous

They get you in for $50 the first massage and if you ever want to come back its $95 an hour after the first visit....they would gain more business if they would just keep it at $50 an hour....I wont be back , not for $95
