Cuba Libre Ultra Lounge

Stopped by while I had some time to kill, and SO glad I did! Ive been hearing about this place for years, and I was floored with the Cuban sandwich. The smells when you walk in just make you want the whole menu. Great service and prices, too. Stop in when youre in the area, or make it a point to get here - its worth the time.

Cuba libre right now is the worst place that I’ve been in Jacksonville! The music is very horrible 😩. They need to change the DJ ASAP otherwise they’ll not have client there anymore. They don’t know what’s a Cuban party or even Cuban music.I’ll never recommend this place to anyone until they take care about the environment there.Seriously is very very very very very very very very horrible with the music 🎶 I was almost crazy with this music.There wasn’t almost people there because the music is the most horrible that I’ve heard in all my life!!

Good place for a casual date or lunch ask for Miguel he is the one that will give you the red carpet treatment and always treat you like it’s your first time. he is so sweet it’s a wonderful experience every time I go when he is there. Tip well he deserve it🥰

We celebrated our beloved custodian’s retirement of almost 20 years today. We had a wonderful meal, good service, and a beautiful, spacious room. I would highly recommend this venue for a large party. Thank you all for making his day special!

This place has lot of potential to be one of the best places to go latino dancing here in Jacksonville but unfortunately,it’s still outdated: the music,the DJ’s are not up today. They’re probably 10-15 years behind when it comes to music. Dress code policy is not very customer friendly. The food isn’t that good but pricey. Last but not least, they charge $20 p/p , for example:a couple will have to pay $40 just to get in with nothing included.

I never thought that this place was so unpleasant. My husband and I went with the intention of having a pleasant time. When we arrived, we saw a Mexican bar. They charged us $30 dollars to enter. We saw that all the tables said reserved. We asked where we could sit. A girl said that in any case, when we got to the table there was a paper next to the table that said that you could only sit there with a minimum consumption of 100 dollars, I told my husband, you already know that I cant drink because Im driving. If you want, order food and something to drink, you and me a dessert. I had already sat down, very early as I usually do. When I was ordering, the waitress told him that if he didnt order drinks and food, at least 100 he would have to stop. So when my husband returned from the bathroom he was already standing in Lanbarra having a beer, I asked him what happened and he told me, we headed towards the entrance and talked to a fat Argentinian or Uruguayan and an elderly lady who were the ones who collected the money. At the entrance, we told them that we didnt know what we were looking for. We had been inside for 5 minutes, which was when I went to the bathroom. We asked for our money back and that we were leaving the place. We explained in a thousand ways that it wasnt fair what they were giving us. step, they treated us badly, the man told me why, so that I dont lose the money, I would sit there at the last table in the back next to where they were charging, that if I didnt want to spend on food I would go eat at the gas station. He was rude, and the adult woman was murmuring to the lanoi and I told her, maam, sorry, what are you saying about us? She acted stupid and ignored us. ..we left without the money to return and with an unpleasant impression of the place, IF ANYONE WANTS TO STEP IN THAT PLACE BETTER THEY DONT DO IT, THIS WAS ON A SATURDAY...THE HISPANICS I GET TO KNOW ALWAYS HAVE A REALLY BAD TIME THEY ASK ABOUT A GOOD PLACE BE VERY SURE THAT I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM AND I WILL TELL YOU MY STORY, MY EESPSO AND I ARE ALSO IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS BUT CUSTOMERS ARE NEVER DISSATISFIED WITH OUR SERVICE, I ALSO LET THE CASHIER KNOW WHAT THEY DID Ignore OMITTED.

No just bad costumer service on Saturdays night, Drinks are over priced and also they add you 20% gratuity and on top of that you get ask to leave tip, very shady business.! DO NOT GO THERE.!

I have limited club experience but I can vouch that this DJ is horrible cant mix for shet. Had a friend meet me here and he said the same. first time and probably last time coming here. ordered nachos but they forgot that nachos supposed to have cheese!!!. drinks werent that great either and you cant mess up beer so beer was saved. music was all over the place in a bad way.

I had chicken and rice. It was delicious! Our host was very attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful. Well definitely be back again!

Cuba Libre club is not what it used to be. DJ on Saturday is not that good, music is terrible. He needs to play more salsa and less reggaeton if he wants more people to dance. Bar tenders are new and can’t make good drinks for the price they charged for it. Need improvement. I hope the new owner is paying attention to his customers.

I absolutely loved meeting DJ Dr. Doom! Even though it was a small crowd, he flowed like the place was packed! Music was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed Throwback Thursday!! I didnt eat anything, but I did have a drink, a simple strawberry daiquiri, and it was good. Im not a drinker, so thats as far as I go... sorry! I absolutely love the atmosphere, and the lady at the door was named Monique, too, so she was automatically awesome! Twins!!! Much love to Cubra Libre!!

Recently I’ve been to 2 Cuban restaurants Tennessee and North Carolina and I guess I had to come to Florida to have amazing Cuban food. Build your on Cuban bowl was delicious and fried yuca with fried pork and tostones was great. I liked how the fried yuca was lightly crispy. They also have a lounge next door.

Out having a great time and met my new bff 👯 Maritza she was there working she was not only awesome very polite on top her game professional and made me feel like family 💯🥰🤩 Even at the end of her shift took time out for a special picture with me.... As I have been battling AML for 8 yrs now and I have my ups and downs as with any illness so everyday is a new day and a Blessing I receive from God💯🙏🏼💯🥰💯🌹

Miguel is the best! Havana Mojito, papas rellena, and Masitas de Puerco all are amazing! The atmosphere is authentic and I cannot wait to come back for Salsa dancing!

My 1st time there today and wont be my last the restaurant was clean food was great and the guy that waited on me and my wife was unbelievably kool he did a great job and I am already planning future dates to come back there ....

Took the wife and mother in-law out for dinner and ordered Cuban and steak sandwiches and was very disappointed. The meat was almost non-existence and very dry. If there is anything a Cuban restaurant must perfect....ITS A CUBAN SANDWICH!! We are a Latino family that grew up eating Cuban Sandwiches from New York to Miami and CUBA LIBRE missed the mark. Need to Get back to the basics!

The lady at the door is rude and mistreat people. To top it off horrible rules no hats. A nightclub with a DJ that does not know any other music than salsa. Food overpriced and does not taste fresh. Roaches walking in party and the bathrooms are dirty and filthy. How this club is open after many years when barely knows how to deliver good service. Owner should be ashamed. City of Jacksonville should be inspecting the place.

I usually don’t give a one star but they had terrible bad customer service walking in.I walk in to the ATM and it’s not working, I tell them why didn’t you add a sign and manager just tells me to go away pretty much. But refused to add a sign to the atm to show ppl it wasn’t working.

Plenty of room, great atmosphere, and visually pleasing. I went on the throwback Thursday night. DJ was definitely on point. And they had the music video playing along with the song that was on projecting on the big screen.

They are piece of shi+ We bought a ticket to enjoy the new year eve to listen to latin music and they are sold the DJ music to something else they just looking for money they are garbage and they ruined our new year eve. Stay away from these cheap rusty garbage place

The sound system is terrible. The music at the front of the place isn’t in sync with the back of the place. Gives me a party hall vibe not a nightclub vibe. Paid $18 plus tip for premixed drinks that probably had no actual alcohol. I don’t mind paying that price for a fancy drink if 1 it taste good and 2 you can actually feel the liquor a bit. More than likely my first and last visit.

Nice atmosphere, DJ was nice. But layer in the evening, they seem to play more toward a younger crowd. Make sure you review your bill. They always include an 18% gratuity.

Was charged twice the amount the menu read. When I inquired about it the guy snatches the menu from my hand and saysthats the wrong menu. I got up and walked out. I spent to much to take that kind of service. Something taste funny about their drinks, like sulfur.

The door charges $15 per person! Its nothing great to justify the door charge. Music ok. Drinks are very small and extremely overcharged and diluted. Not worth the money. Dress code not enforced, people with t-shirys, shorts, sneakers, etc.

Not a good vibe at all. All the men had to get frisked to get into the club, which is never a good sign. I went on a Saturday night and understandably there was a $15 cover with a DJ, but the music selection was horrible as well as the service. The waitress did not speak english and when I pulled up Google translate she couldnt even read it, not to mention not even being greeted with a smile. The whole experience was very dirty and unwelcoming.

I like going here I always have fun on Saturday but I feel is more expensive the shots because 4 shots I order before It has been like $ 37 this time was $43 . Also a new bartender he is tall and skinny everything I ask he didnt know what I was asking he even give me the wrong drinks . I ask for orgasmo and he did the wrong one then I ask him for hpnotiq with sprite and he say he dont know about that licor he had his face confused. when I told him for cinnamon for the orgasmo he say no we dont have that here like I was crazy and I told him how you say no if the others bartender the lady with dark skin that speaks Spanish she always make me that drink with cinnamon and she had to tell him it was on the back the cinnamon.She is the best bartender I will always go with her for know on . When I ask for midoris with pineapple he didnt understand either. Bad experience with that over charge. Also that white women bartender she always make the drinks watery I told her last night to make them strong and at least she did it was good she did make them better then when she has served mebefore. That new guy he need more training because I started with him and the white lady needed to finish serving me he was lost and making the wrong drinks.

The food was a bit overpriced considering all me and my party got were wings and nachos. However, the drinks the bartender served us were on point. At the end of the night the older gentlemen rushed us out of the door I literally had to suck my drink down that I had just brought. The atmosphere is nice and the drinks were on point. I will be back for that reason.

I hosted my teams very first annual Fashion Show and the location is absolutely gorgeous. The equipment was amazing and the food is fantastic. My guests were happy for the most part. Overall the event was a success but there were a few complaints about the service from my guests.Lorena was a joy to work with and she was very easy to communicate with.Francisco was very accomodating and allowed me to cone in to the venue multiple times for rehearsals before the event.The kitchen manager was a little aggressive and almost got into a full blown altercation with me over something that i had already discussed with the team that booked my event.I would recommend them to anyone for their events. They are great and just like anyone else does, they make mistakes. I will be back with more events in the future.

So happy that one of our favorite restaurants wasnt done in by Covid. They absolutely do their share for social distancing and survived. Great food as always, served by a hard working single person staff! Our visit was the middle of the afternoon when fewer people were there. I cannot say enough good things about the food. The bread is delicious and I did a good job of keeping to one good slice, my sweetie, not so much. He loves his Cuban bread! This is a wonderful place to grab a great meal!

I went last night!!! Never again!! 15.00 at the door, they had tables for 50.00 to use, and front tables are 100.00!! Omgggg...the music was horrible!!!! I definitely would not be returning!!!! If you didnt get a table you would stand by the bar all night!!! Its was a horrible experience!!! Not enough people there!!!

8 people inside the club counting the 4 of us on a Friday night (11:30pm)… they still charge you $10 entrance fee

Last night was my first time there ( Thursday 1/25/18) I love the place it’s so spacious and very contemporary scene. The only thing I didn’t was that bar tinder lady got short hair. She was not friendly at all and served the men first and skipped us. Other than I love the place!

There are so many wrong things with this place. To start, music is not broad latin music, not even broad Cuban music, it is basically reggaeton with very bad acoustics, and few people were dancing the whole time I was there: if I were the owner I’d fire that DJ, not because I didn’t like his horrible taste of music, but because for hours he made no one to dance. Arrived at about 9pm and was charged some cover fee even when their advertisement said free entry before 11pm. Once in that big rectangle, no place to sit unless you pay an undisclosed amount to the “guy” that can get you a table or a sofa. The bar bill adds 18% service fee, so be careful with double tipping, they don’t tell you that.

Ive called first to make sure there would be a salsa music, but even DJ was awesome it was pure reguetón first hour I was there.The worse was that I had friend with me that time so we paid $30 and waste time waiting for salsa music while we could go Friday night to another place. Im so disappointed about that lie.😭

I am a single white female who wanted to dance some salsa tonight and EVERY bouncer, black or other, just looked at me and said no ablo anglais.....are you freaking kidding me? You speak english as well as I do and you, my brothers, and you look at me and say no ablo anglais???? WTIF????? I live not even a mile from Cuba LIbre and just wanted to dance a bit of Salsa. I was made to feel like a second class citizen and realized that racism is good an alive in Jacksonville! Shame on you Cuba Libre!!!

I’ve gone twice for Saturday Latin night. Menu is limited and overpriced. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was not made properly and tasted terrible. Only two servers for the entire lounge. Long wait to even place my order. The lights turned on and bouncers were asking everyone to leave and I was still waiting for my bill. Which then turned out to be incorrect and they attempted to charge gratuity for a table of 4. The DJs seem to be getting worse. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. If I could give zero stars I would

The music was good but for $28 I wish the food wouldve tasted better. The wings had no flavor at all even with the sauce but the fries was good.

Outstanding food and staff. First off is the MCM Decor, Terrazzo floors, kidney shaped dropped ceiling. Magnificent offerings, traditional exceptional recipes. Havana Jax is 40 minutes from our home and it never disappoints.

So much fun!! Will be coming again!!

The best place in Jacksonville for Latin dancing on Saturday night! Nice club, have tables to sit down if you get there early enough. Large dance floor, good music, nice staff.

I visited the restaurant and club. We ordered the chicharrones de pollo with rice, & beans. The beans had no flavor, the rice was really soggy, which its not common for a Spanish restaurant. The seafood platter was ok and thats the only reason why wearying giving it 3 stars. The whole time we were swatting away gnats. The VIP service at the club was good, 2 bottles, food platter and juice was about $640.00. The clubs dance floor was very small and all the way at the front of the club, the configuration is very odd. I will not visit again.

As busy as it gets? Acoustics are bad. They have soooo much space and not a lot of people. People are taking pics on the dance floor. Thought I was going to be able to listen to some Spanish music but ….no

Went last night. Arrived at midnight to dance Latin music because my wife’s been dying to let loose. The scene - More employees than clients and no more than 20 dancing to hip hop. Not a lick of anything remotely Latin. Started shutting down at 1. Weird as all F$&@ Like from a Netflix series. Will keep looking to dance.

Cuba Libre was once one of my favorite places to go to. It is now however a different atmosphere. They took my money and wouldn’t accommodate me. Poor customer service and not welcoming anymore.

Only speaking for the Cuba Libre area, it has been changed a bit and now has lots of low tables and chairs (from the previous high tables/chairs) on reservation basis and a couple of VIP areas. Stage and dance area and 2 bars have not changed (although bar service seemed unorganized and awkward). The DJ switched songs/genre like a sample mix, playing less than half of any song. There was a band that was decent, but the accoustic and sound system did not appear flattering to their music. Cant speak on the food, it used to be really good, but have not tried since the management change. Still recommend giving both a try and decide for yourself.

We were there for a celebration of life for Mr. Jim Hendricks...everything was well organized by his son Chad. I got to meet the love of Jims life as well as other friends and family members. Rest in peace Jim Hendricks 🙏

Great place to dance but the DJ sucks, the songs dont play all the way through and the mix between songs dont compliment each other, also there is too much talking in the middle of songs from the owner.. the remodeling is awesome but the old amesphire and DJ were better. I was very displeased taking my family from Atlanta 😔. Also to to much reggetton. Not cool..

My cousin, her friend, and I went to Throwback Thursdays. It was 2 of our first time so we didn’t know what to expect. The place is huge with a good size dance floor with little to no people dancing lol. The music was great as well as the drinks. Only thing was all the table were VIP or taken by 730, smh. But by the end of the night I had enjoyed myself and didn’t want to leave. Whenever I’m in the Jax area I know where to come.

I went dancing on Saturday may 15, 2021 and ordered two drinks. The bar tender added an 18% service charge to my order without my knowledge and when I checked my online banking info- also debited an extra 24.00 . This is the first time that this has happened to me anywhere in Jacksonville. I do not recommend going to cuba libre or their restaurant . They are thieves. I will also be letting all of my colleagues and friends know Never to go here. No one needs their money robbed from them.

Went Saturday, Latin night to Dance they serve hook-a like there’s no tomorrow. The smoke made my wife and myself sick. We both had sore throats and frog voice. My wife has asma and the next day it was really bad. They should get rid of the hook-a or heya room for that. It looked like a hook-a place, unfortunately we won’t be returning there. If you treasure your health go somewhere else. We used to have a good time there.

Hadnt been out in awhile, so this was definitely needed. Had a nice time with our group. Lots of different age groups all dancing having a nice time. Left hard of hearing, but that comes with club territory. 🙃

Great music. Good seating. Bartenders were good. Especially the short woman with the blonde hair. She makes a mean drink. I only have one recommendation. I would not use the little silver double jiggers that some of the bartenders used to measure a shot. Its not an actual full shot and shows the customer you dont know how to pour. A bartender that knows how to pour knows a shot is a 4 count. Also, in order to increase revenue i would always offer the customer top shelf. If they say no, then i would pour well from the speed rack. Only one bartender asked if i wanted top shelf. I will however be back. Music was great!

Im not a fan of trying new dishes but I tried the Chicarrones Pollo ( I hope thats right lol), and it was delicious. Not a fan of Cuban food as most places I go the food is usually bland but the yellow rice and beans that came with it was delicious and seasoned perfectly. The chicken pieces reminded me of the Haitian dish, Grillo (again I hope Im sitting spelling that right). Service was a bit slow considering I went there and no one else was there but would definitely go again.

They have wonderful food me and my girlfriend love the beef empanadas. They make them the best theyre just like they made it at home from your grandma. The club is great also

Awesome FOOD, MUSIC, friendly staff, bachata, reggeton, DJ played. We had 2 Champagne Bottles and scrumptious dinner seafood platter. We celebrated my friends BDay from California originally. Definitely go great atmosphere felt safe and protected. Thank you Staff.

Ive never been disappointed when visiting Cuba Libre! They have a beautifully appointed bar area with many comfy seating areas. The staff is polite and responsive to a person and their food and drinks are both just great! This could be Jacksonvilles best kept secret!

The women are beautiful and the vibe is good! The problem I have with Cuba Libre is the menu will say 10$ but tell you cost 12.50. I ask why it cost 12.50 they said thats the way it rings up. Hidden gratuity for everything you buy. Beer 5$ but you pay 6$. Watch your wallet because you will end up tipping twice.

Save yourself the time and money. Went “dancing” (no one was dancing) on Throwback Thursday. Bad acoustics, charmless ambiance, outrageous prices, and rude management. Ripoff from the second you walk in. Had high hopes but was totally disappointed.

Uneventful. Update went for Grupo Niche concert and never seen so many vip tables basically stacked on each other. People were packed through the entire place like sardines. Definitely not what I was expecting after paying darn near 1k. Oh well.

If you wanna go deaf hang out here... The music was SO loud we couldnt even hear the staff at the door- we walked in and walked right out. Theres no reason on earth for music to be THAT LOUD. It was a huge disappointment, we were looking forward to drinks, dancing and fun. Ive been to a lot of clubs in my life from Miami to New York to LA and Ive gone to many concerts too. Never in my life have I entered a building with music this loud. EVER. You wouldnt be able to hear the same if you expose your ears to that. This was last weekend -7.5.2019. Major disappointment! We saw great reviews here and Facebook and were excited to visit this club during vacation. Epic fail. I do not recommend.. The location is also a little ify... I wouldnt go again even if music volume was corrected to be honest. Thats all.

Vibe cool. Security on the other hand, waaay too aggressive. Instead of diffusing situation, security came up behind a lady, locked her arm behind her, used her face to open the door and threw her onto ground outside. Other two security personnel who were talking the young lady down laughed. THIS is Jacksonville, FL had that been the RIGHT one, that night gets quite interesting.

I am only commenting on the night club aspect, since Ive never eaten there. The good is that there is a good sized dance floor, the security act and dress professionally, and the lighting is just enough to set the mode. Now the bad, is bad. Starting with the #1 reason you go there and thats to dance to the music. The DJ plays far to much Reggeton because it seems like thats HIS preferred music and the only type that he can mix some what well but on top of that its being delivered from an unbalanced sound system whos mid range and horns cut in and out and base is distorted. Will earn more stars if these important aspects are correced.

I was really looking forward to coming here, but unfortunately they advertise events as free online, but when you get to the door they don’t honor the tickets. I don’t mind paying a cover, but I hate when businesses lie. It’s so unnecessary. Just say it’s ten bucks or whatever. Don’t make an advertisement for a specific event, say that it’s free, and then try to come up with some cover at the door. So shady.

Unfortunately the DJs Salsa music was poor. You wait 40 min and they played 2 salsa. It sucks Jacksonvilles well rounded latin clubs are so behind for this very reason.

Visited here for the first time last week, the lunch buffet was amazing best food Ive had. The place was clean and inviting and Lorena the GM was so great she made the experience that much better.

They need to have more Spanish clubs here in Jacksonville.. this place is the only choice we have to go to listen to Spanish music.. I feel like they need to step it up and throw different events every week.. salsa concerts or contest.. or bachata etc.. being that they are the only Spanish club here.. I would step it up a few notches.. but other then that the food is great.. service is good too..

I buy a cuban sandwich and was pre-made and super cold, I order it with out mustard.They just clean the mustard from the bread and give it to me. I prefer Mambos Restaurant is more clean and fresh food.

Had the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch. For the same price youd pay for fast food! A very healthy alternative. Added some chimi churri and chips. Generous portions. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Im very disappointed I paid almost $35 for 3 sandwiches steak sandwich which was all bread barely any meat and on top of that it tasted burned I also bought a midnight sandwich which was also very disappointing cold and didnt taste right it tasted like it had salami in it and it doesnt bring that! And the pan con lechon was what ever I know it was not worth what I paid for not 10 each sandwich NEVER AGAIN now the place looks nice but way over priced and didnt even taste good at all.

Food was great and reasonably priced and service was outstanding! Best Cuban sandwich ever!!!

Great place to meet new people, awesome Latin music to dance to and the staff was amazing. Definitely taking my family when they come from Miami, which everyone knows is the spot for fun.

Go to cuba libre every weekend that i possible can, love the music that dj Little Yankee plays, a variety of music but he kills it when it comes to salsa, bachata, merenque. I would give this place a 5 start but i had a problem with some lady called mara, her customer service is not proffessional at all, shes very rude! to me and my family when we went. I just keep coming back because of the music, ive gone to other places and the music sucks! the dj doesnt know how to mix, heard dj little yankee mixes on the radio latina and when i found out he was a cuba libre i went and havent stopped going when i get the chance, i never really used to go to you guys the dj yall had before wasnt good at all. Great authentic Cuban food. Miguel and Cynthia were very attentive to customers.

The experience was formidable. After making the appointment we arrived at the exact hour and didnt have to wait not even a second. In a couple of minutes the procedure was done.

I dont think its right they make you pay first for entrance then after you fork up the money security ask for IDs to verify age??. Isnt that kind of backwards??. I brought it up to managers attention but he just smiled and try to act like he doesnt know English. Wierd. But I give 1 star for large TV screens and another star for size of dance floor...I AM NOT SAYING IM UNDER AGE. IM SAYING YOUR STRATEGY IS BACKWARDS. ID CHECK SHOULD BE BEFORE PAYMENT. NOT AFTER.

The only issue was, that the man kept grabbing our drinks by the rim and not by the middle. Thats been unsanitary, even before the pandemic. The food was delicious.

Went a few times on Thursday nights. It was real chill..wasnt crowded and just really Good and Grown type of vibe. Love it!

They are very rude and discriminatory toward gender here. My guest was embarrassed and quite frankly so was I. Everyone needs to know that this place does not welcome transgender patrons. They treat them like criminals in here. I am highly dissapointed!

The afrobeats dance class was nice. The crowd was small but the vibes were cool. Promote Friday nights more.

Came in ordered a drink it was 9:42 pm went to the bar ordered a drink ordered a drink and sat myself. 9:45 someone came to my table to take my order. This place plays Spanish music. It has a small menue of 11 items at night.

Wonderful time and food was awesome and the drinks were great and music was awesome I love it and will be bck on Friday night and Saturday night as well

Went on a Friday night and it was dead. No one was dancing. Hope business can pick up because its a nice set up.

What I like about it is that there is a lot more space than there is at Exotic Lounge.

Arrived at 11:15 PM was charged 10 dollars and then additional 10 for a drink. Lights came on at 11:30am and the place is closing. It is suspose to stay open until 2am. Very displeased.

This club is everything youre looking for, if you love grown folk music, and the Havanas food inside is so delicious.
