I ordered 2 vodka crans, no ice, extra mixer. The Asian female bartender upstairs charged me $30. Vodka crans are normally $5. I looked at the receipt and she put doubles. I didn’t order doubles! She only poured a standard amount too, I watched her pour for 2 seconds. Drinks tasted like cranberry juice.But that’s not the point. Don’t charge me for something I didn’t order. I told her about the mistake and she said it’s already charged, she can’t do anything.

So me and my buddies have gone here a few times so heres the full guide. This place says 18+ but minors can still manage there way in and get drinks too. Im not confirming anything, just looking out for people and sayings its a possibility. This place is usually dead until 11:30pm and then it starts dying around 2:30am. U can usually get in for free before 11pm if you do what Venus Instagram post says (they post it late sometimes so check at 6pm on their page). Otherwise, 20 bucks to get in. Dress code, makes not a lot of sense but best bet is to wear tight or thin clothes. My buddy wore just wife beater and was let in, my other one wore a hoodie the one time and was forced to take it off. Speaking of which, if u check a coat or hoodie, its three dollars. So prepare for winter. Drinks here are either expensive and/or watered down so just pregame. Staff are usually chill or friendly. Dance floor can get messy so watch your step, but music is usually good. However last time the DJ wasnt all that great. But the lights, dance floors, and main area look awesome. From the photos, ladies room is nice as well, however guys are better off avoiding their bathroom. So compared to the rest of the buffalo area, definitely a decent place to go clubbin but had its flaws. Now, this is a guide so this next part doesnt affect my review of venu establishment or the people running it, its about the people that come here. Imma say 70% of the people that come here are looking to have a good time with friends and to meet new people. 30% are creepy guys, antisocial people that scream if u say hi, or people that just dont want to be there. So be safe, bring u friends, follow my guide and you will have a fun time like me and buddies do everytime.

I have been to venu many times and I’ve never had a problem it’s always been fun, but I attended the white lie party and I was waiting for my sister to arrive so I was alone for a while a man was following me in the club and I felt very unsafe when I tried to talk to the security they completely ignored me and kept talking I tried to get there attention multiple times but they wouldn’t listen to me. I went upstairs and luckily some girls were helping me because security sure didn’t care.

I really wish this place had a website or had more info on social media :/ I’m mainly leaving this review so others can be better prepared than I was lol. Yes, it’s 18+ but only 21+ will get wristbands that let them leave and enter,

What a bad experience… this place stinks like armpit and cat piss! Underaged bartenders drinking behind the bar and serving their underaged besties drinks. Watched this male bartender give out drinks to girls with “X”in their hand! We spent so much money on drinks (including shots) and at the end they refused to give us tap water! Cocktails are mostly juice even though you pay/ask for extra alcohol! Never ever going again ewwhh brotha!!!

Enough with the “white girl” music it’s actually too much atp. as a white girl i am unhappy and prob won’t be going to venu anymore due to the horrible music. put me in a bad mood and i should’ve kept my $70 on uber and entry fee and partied at home 😳

Our company rented out Venu for a party last week, it happened to be the night when travel bans were in place. Luckily for us we were all staying close by and could walk, and it meant so much to us that Venu’s staff were able to stay open and they were simply amazing. The DJ really engaged everyone, taught us some line dances and got the energy going. The karaoke was so fun, drinks were great, and it service was excellent. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in town.

It is a great club. The entry is 20$ but it is totally worth it. The lower floor is always very crowded but there is a ample of space on the top floor. The DJ is awesome and you can also have your private space if you are looking for a private party. Definitely a must go.

Disappointing Experience at Venu BuffaloI recently visited Venu Buffalo while on a short family vosit and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The cleanliness of the bathroom was appalling. it was drenched in pee, which was completely unacceptable. Additionally, I observed the bartender wiping his nose with his arm while making a drink, which was extremely off-putting and unsanitary. Overall, I was deeply disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and professionalism at this establishment to top it off the rude door tards. I hope they address these issues to ensure a better experience. Management needs to step up their game ASAP!

The security guard made me coat check my hooded flannel shirt. I felt embarrassed walking around in my Nike t-shirt.

Almost couldn’t even get a drink took idk probably 1 hour to get one. After it took 1 hour to get in and then we finally got our drinks and since they let so many people in someone ran into me and I spilled my drink that I waited an hour for. Part of my drink spilled since I was almost plowed over by a herd of people and then proceeded to get kicked out for a couple of drops being spilled on a security guard. While waiting in line everyone was horribly rude. I will never go back I actually didn’t want to go there in the first place and I should have known not to go. Everything sucked tbh if you want to start your new year off right I would reallyyyyyy recommend going somewhere else. Then we walked down the street to an awesome bar it was so much fun everyone was so kind and we got free champagne when the ball dropped. For real take this into consideration.

The floor was super sticky like they hadnt washed it in days...super gross!

Talked with the owner or social media manager about my experience and i was left with rude responses. Their security are unprofessional, creepy and to be completely frank made me and several guest uneasy. Especially considering the fact that they are who we are supposed to “rely” on for safety while in the property we felt very unsafe. In addition to the tone of the owner and the lack of professionalism from the security guards, the harassment of a minor while no longer on premises is highly inappropriate and uncalled for especially due to the minor being off the premises according to the policy. In short terms the security runs this place and no matter the result of their behavior whether it left the customers unhappy or unsafe the owners support them and stand by their behavior. The owner or social media manager needs to learn some customer service because they lost several if not more patrons in the future and last night, we will be asking for a refund. Absolutely disgrace as a business and as establishment, had better and will be attending better functions.

Paid $50 for an “event” ticket (bass and glow) the most awkward and corny experience ever. If they have an event listed, don’t bother. It’s a $25 cover to go to a bar/club with 50 people (this was 2 hours after it started) such a waste of money. Oh and if it says 10-4am… don’t bank on that. It’s 10- whenever the average DJ decides to cut the music off.

Venu is always a good time! There are 3 total bars ( 2 bars and 1 red bull bar with bottles and cans ) bottle service, coat check, a stage to dance on, and a patio. I’ve been going to venu for a while and i’ve always had an amazing time. I always feel safe and have made some friends! They do events for different themes and different music taste very often!

Bartenders and Staff are fun and engaging, great atmosphere and fairly priced drinks. It’s THE spot on Fridays, and the energy for their events, especially for Halloween, is unmatched.

First time here, great place for UB students to go out. I was skeptical at first because of the reviews, but clearly those people must have done something wrong. Bar staff and security were nice. Typical Nightclub, just don’t do anything stupid and you will have a blast. Upstairs bar and downstairs bar, and upstairs patio to get air and smoke. Beer only $5 pretty good deal.

Such a fun place to go out!! A few of the reviews I read before I went made me skeptical, but my best friend and I were staying in Buffalo from Toronto to visit her boyfriend and we all went out together and had a blast!! Would for sure come back in the future

Probably worst vip service Ive been to. Never once did I feel like a very important person. The table is positioned so that everyone can stare at you and can walk in and take drinks when youre not there. The security will watch non vip underage kids enter the table and drink.

Harassed and kicked out by security for using the bathroom stall. Security ambushed me with flashlights and tried to corner me along with verbally assaulting me and pushing me to the door. I politely just decided to leave and comply since I did nothing wrong. Worst experience ever since I was treated like an animal. Never going back. But besides that the entrance fees and drinks were highly overpriced and water down. I recommend for people to video record this sort of treatment from security. Unfortunately I wasn’t so lucky since my phone died. Please be safe and bring a buddy as a witness if this shady stuff happens to you!!

Kindly asked the bouncer at the door if there was a dress code and he told me to take off my sweatshirt, so I started to… he immediately started cussing me out for “interrupting” him. After we eventually got in, my friend was tossed out by bouncers because someone bumped into him causing him to spill a little bit of his drink onto the person next to him. Didnt listen to what he had to say and asked no questions just threw him out. As I was following him out, the bouncer at the door shoved me out for absolutely no reason. They all clearly like their position of “power” as a bouncer and use it as much as they can. Will never go back.

Love it here, they throw the best parties and play some good music. Perfect for the college student crowd, probably going whatever weekend I’m free!

I had my worst club experience at this venue. The bartenders refused to give me and three other people our credit cards back because their messed up machine said that we all had stolen cards. What are the odds that four different people have stolen cards? Even after showing ID proof that we all owned our cards the bartenders were refusing to return our cards. Bouncers were also not helpful and instead threatened all of us with kicking us out of the club for fighting to get our credit cards back. This place is seriously messed up.

The looks of the inside is really cool. Light and sound is great. The staff was also friendly. Atmosphere is great as well.

The only good thing about this place was the music and the DJ who played a wide variety of music. The place is literally covid in a nutshell. No masks, very very unsanitary bathrooms and the whole place was covered in trash they need to put trash cans at each designated place for people to throw away there cups. The place let’s do many underaged kids in here and I can tell you none of those people were over 21 a lot of people between ages 16-19 drinking. Stay away from this place.

Fun club but not serving free tap water when you’re asking for a $20 cover is INSANE.

This place is actually great! The staff is so friendly and the drinks are really reasonably priced. The facility itself is very large and can handle huge crowds. Just beware that for popular shows it will be shoulder to shoulder. But that doesn’t hinder the experience at all! The lights and sound are of the highest quality! Security is professional and vigilant! The only people that have problems here are ass holes and drunk idiots. It appears that people are leaving fake reviews just because there salty about some wallet situation. It’s a concert venue and is run like one. No re-entry means NO RE-ENTEY. If you’re caught drinking underage, you’re gone, period. Be respectful and follow the rules (dress code too) and you’ll have no problems! It’s really simply and easy to have a good time here.

Went for an afterparty and the sound was great but the vibe is sketch. If you hand the bartender cash for drinks tho, dont expect change back bc theyll just pocket $4 change when all you bought was a can of beer, and then ignore you lmao.

Beware, security here using their job to beat up patrons. Security at this place is off the wall, they are hired to finish any fights in the club, not only will they beat you on the way out, outside they wanna fight and then use mase. This security staff is detrimental to the establishment, with the amount of underage kids they let in they should not be in charge of the front door. I will be contacting the Nys liquor authority for an investigation into having their license pulled. This has been going on for years. I’ll be the voice, this place promotes underage drinking, this place promotes its security to assault people while breaking up fights. You’ll hear from my legal team soon. Wrong guys kid you did that too.

Place is straight trash. If the security could actually do their job rather than worry about getting their own drinks, that would be great. My whole group went to Hyperglow and left 5 minutes after entering. Even the crowd was gross. Weve all been to shows and this was garbage. VENU and the workers 🤮 dont waste your money. The bartender took 20 minutes just to give us our drinks. I understand it was a busy day but i noticed he was serving everyone else other than me and my friend which really pissed me off. Also the dance floor is absolutely disgusting. it was like dancing in a puddle of alcohol and beer bottles and cups. No cleanliness whatsoever. And the washrooms are a whole other story. The only slightly good thing was the lighting and DJ and the decent sized dance floor. But honestly you can get way better and cleaner clubs in buffalo at a much lesser price.

Was there for the world of drum and bass tour . The promotion company was great. The creeper security guards looking over and through the cracks of the stalls was not so great. Not sure if they were sneaking peek or what, but they definitely were enjoying. It was total invasion of privacy and I witnessed it several times throughout the night. Definitely the last time Ill be going there.

Good music and vibes. security actively walked around and made sure everyone was safe. upper level is great for escaping the crowds and people watching. $20 to get in.

Me and my friends used to go every Friday, and we miss Venu so much it’s our favorite club and one of the only ones we actually have fun in. My friends have so much fun there in fact that my one friend broke her foot there, she has no hard feelings about it she fell down the stage stairs. Can’t wait till it reopens. We promise we will not get hurt this time!!

Its mid, 2 floors (which was cool) and packed. For the price it wasnt bad but if you want somewhere that isnt insane and not full of arrogant people, go to bottoms. Venu dont get me wrong was okay, but just not my style.

Went on 10/29/21 for Halloween weekend. My 3 friends who are black women were denied entry because they had crocs on as part of their inmate costume. The bouncer said “speak to the manager” when they asked where the manager was he said “I don’t know, at his kids birthday party” it was 11pm at night.

The dress code is terrible. If you’re a guy and even have one rip in your jeans you get turned away. They want everyone to dress like they are going to meet their girlfriends parents for the first time. Bouncers we’re extremely rude and shined lights in everyone’s eyes as we were in line. I don’t understand how you have a club in downtown Buffalo but don’t let people who wear street wear into the club. Or how you can have hip hop artists perform there but won’t let people who’s fashion taste matches the artist in.

The place had to many security outside hanging out as inside there was one guy. My wife and I went for the Fat Joe show and he didnt show up until after 2 close to 3 because I had friends that stood there. Back to the security, like I said I was with my wife and to many 20something punks started groping her even when she told them she was married. You cant blame them for the bathrooms nor the floors being wet. The bartenders arent the friendliest unless oh knew them. Not going back!!!!

Awful concert venue. security watches everyone like a hawk and shines lights in your face every 2 minutes. the music was great, but the atmosphere was so boring. I came for a rock concert and the second anyone even tried to move around; security grabbed them and told them they would be thrown out. i have never had that kind of issue with any other venue i’ve been to.

While in college it was a common place to go out to on the weekends with friends. Always a good time!

Amazing to have Venu back bigger and better than ever! So many changes and renovation during Covid, making it the best nightclub in Western New York. Highly recommend VIP table for a memorable experience.

Simple thing of getting a wallet back, bouncer wasntw even cooperating. Called them on the phone earlier and the guy said itd be fine to come down anytime. Told on the phone to just come ask to speak to a manager, bouncer just ignored because no id(its in the wallet!). Wasted so much time , tried calling back on the phone just voicemail after voicemail requests

I think this place would be better if the bouncer didn’t assault citizens outside the business throwing them to the ground, and attacking from behind.

Friendly staff - very big inside. Usually crowded and sweaty, overpriced (even for water), music is sometimes good or bad depending on the night. Stay past 1 and the atmosphere usually shifts from college kids > older people.

Last night I experienced unwarranted physical contact by a Venu staff member. My friend and I were sitting on a black wooden crate. There was no sign on or near this crate saying we could not sit there. A man came up to me without identifying who he was, leaned on me, and dug his elbow into my injured shoulder; nastily saying I was in his spot. He did not injure my shoulder; I have a shoulder injury and he irritated the injury. When I asked him why, he showed me his Venu shirt only and continued to dig his elbow into my shoulder. I had to forcefully remove him off of me and walked away. He didnt ask my friend sitting next to me to move at all and just placed his foot on the crate. When I reported him through the Facebook page, they asked me to go see the manager during the show when this happened before the show. Why would I see the manager when I paid for the show and waited all night to see the band? Then, when I proceeded to see the manager after the show, there was no one to be found. If the staff member would have politely asked me to move and identified himself, I would have moved without any question. I am also appalled that the staff nor the manager did not do anything about this situation.

I wish I could give zero stars, but unfortunately I have to give at least one. This was hands down the worst nightclub I have ever been to. I had to pay double the cover to get in because I had a rip in my jeans. I was was then forced to take my shirt off so they could squeeze two more dollars out of me for coat check. I also watched the security Gard turn away two gay men for dress code violations. I could go on for twelve more pages, but this place isnt worth my time, or anyone elses.

Getting a drink at this place is more rare than seeing a unicorn walk down chippewa. Unbelievably horrid bartending. 0/10 would recommend. The only thing I regret about my time there is not being able to tip the bartender $0.00

I was just trying to help my friend get his wallet back and Venu was very difficult to work with forcing us to wait in the rain for almost an hour before someone got the facebook message and finally understood the situation. Bouncers were very dismissive and rude and not even an apology for the rudeness.

GREAT VENU! Loved everything about it except for a few of the bartenders that copped attitude real quick for no reason. I get that its a stressful job but you dont have to be rude to the customer.

Terrible security, they forced me and my friend to remove our very light jean jackets for their “coat checks” only for us to walk inside and see several people with their jackets on... If you’re going to enforce a rule be absolute, don’t pick and choose. Dj’s play the same songs all night. The light show feels borderline epileptic. I hope management resolves these issues.

We bought tickets for The Fat Joe concert and we finally decided to leave after 1am because he still did not show up. I contacted Venu today & was told Its like a Las Vegas event and that the performer has a window between 1 and 3 a.m. since the curfew is 4 a.m. in Buffalo. It was advertised as a concert but I was told it was a VIP event. So I basically paid to see someone that could show up whenever up until 4 in the morning. I would never pay for an event here again.

Best atmosphere, awesome events, only true nightclub left in the area! Always a good time. Security is courteous and the staff is always smiling.

An event got cancelled due to the head liner not showing up. Have yet to be refunded. Ground was sticky and felt like I was tricked to come into this places just to spend money on the bar . Not happy . Wanna take a risk more than the stock market this is the place

The club looks great but man y’all DJ’s are trash lol y’all gotta start playing some more lit music. More rap. Music that makes everybody wanna dance not just stand. Like get DJ wire in there for one night and watch how packed and lit it’ll be I promise you.

The security guard is rude so as the owner and manger they own both clubs bottoms up and this one I wouldn’t recommend neither club security drinks on the clock and fight customers or jump them don’t waste your money on these clubs take my advice👌🏾💯
