The Deck

The atmosphere is very nice, there are several different seating areas, its nice and open, there are indoor areas as well! We spent the majority of the night outside listening to the live band Stereo Doll who always puts on an excellent performance! The coverage charge is affordable as well as the membership! The bar tenders were all on their game, the drink price is about average cost. This is definitely a place that we will go back to! The bathroom was a little on the small side but there are porter pottys outside behind the stage. If youve never been, I highly recommend that you check this place out!

They dont serve food. Its a bar. This looks like a small bar, but by mixing indoor/outdoor space, it it actually quite large. Great atmosphere for listening to live music. Multiple bars for quick service. Its a eccleticly blended venue. Membership is required.

A very welcoming and fun place to be at, not crowded but not empty either most nights. They have a great karaoke host named Tony Tone and they also have live music and open mic

The deck is a great mix of people watching, wild times and some of the best live music around. Bartenders always take great care of us. Can’t recommend this place enough for a great night out.

A really fun unique place to hang out have a drink and listen to great local live music! They do have a $5 yearly membership, and if you want food there is usually a food truck available close by!

Rude bartenders: prices on drink board are old and its our fault for not knowing that. Place is full of boomers too.

I have been there twice now. Plays great music. Bar is pretty good. The floor of the dance area is very uneven and not safe though.Update: in the winter they enclose the bar area. Creates a really crammed atmosphere and very few places to sit.

Went here to celebrate a friends birthday. Everything was fine but when my friend started to feel sick we went to the bathroom where the rude bartender followed us, banging on the door saying, “this isn’t the time for meetings and proceeded to barge in” keep in mind there was no line for the bathroom and the others were open for use. after that it really just ruined the whole experience for me. Very unprofessional staff, go spend your money elsewhere where bar staff stays behind the bar and not on bathroom patrol

Went to go see Radio Revolvers and this place was great! Staff were nice and the decorations inside were cool!

Just about as perfect as a mostly outdoor music venue can get. Ample seating, plenty of astroturf space to dance. Big stage for the bands to play. A small but decent craft beer selection. Cool couches and chairs out front to socialize in without the music being too loud. All in all I really enjoyed my first visit and it will definitely not be my last.

Only place with live music around here. Also the only real bar in Jamestown, as far as I know. Everything else is a restaurant/bar.

I probably had a good time but I only remember getting there. They should have cut me off but instead I spent 2 days recovering. I am so glad I rode with a friend there and took an Uber home. My bill was $100 for one person, I don’t know what I had but that is way too much to serve one person over a 3 hour time span. I don’t blame them for my choices but at some point they should have recognized i was completely impaired.

We love The Deck. The atmosphere is fun with the great bands they bring in. We love the outdoor venue especially in these times. They have great security just in case... The drinks are at a reasonable price. We love the Plaids Band, and Radio Revolver. People love to dance there.

A local outdoor night club with live music. The atmosphere is casual and fun. The service is great. Every band Ive seen here was awesome & Fun. The only downside is the restroom situation for ladies. The lines are always long because there is only 1 bathroom, there is little to no ventilation or A/C so its hot. Other than that its a very fun place.

Theres always a good time to be had here! They always have great bands! The only downside is the midnight forced closing due to a noise ordinance.

No food is served here. Just a bar with outdoor limited seating. Went to watch band play and got overrun with college students. But still had fun.

My first visit was so much fun that I look forward to going back soon! With a proper ID and $5 you get an annual membership card. After that with both there is no cover charge. The place has a great atmosphere ...lots of plants. It was very comfortable with fans mounted everywhere .Most of the place is outdoors... I felt as if I were at the beach. There is some seating but many choose to stand or hang out by the dance floor which is carpeted. There was a live band that was very entertaining and a lot of people danced. Dress was anything from shorts and sandals to dressed up...and no one asked them if they were going to a funeral or wedding. There was a wide variety of ages..it was nice to see some people in my age group...lol. Great place to dance or people watch. As a single female I would be very comfortable going back by myself ...saw no issues but there is plenty of security if needed. They have beer wine and liquor and run some specials. If you like a nice place go check it out.

Use to be the place to go. All they do is let under age people come in. Its always so crowded with under age people that you cant enjoy it. Guess that is the only business they can get. I stopped going.

Really cool vibe and the dude at the door seemed like he could not do enough for you. Dont really find that at too many nightlife establishments. And the value you get for the year long membership to listen to all the great music is second-to-none.

Private club with a cool, vintage eclectic, ambiance. Great live music, fun people, friendly staff. In the winter, they put up large heated tenths- very cool place. Places inside, and music isnt too loud to talk over.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Warning do not use debit or credit cards when going to this place. My husband and I went and was told to go to the bar and pay $10 for our memberships which we did. We ended up leaving 30 mins after being there. We disliked the bank that was playing- didn’t buy any drinks at all. We left and was charged $32 at one that night! Then today I noticed my card was charged again from last night of $50! When I wasn’t even there. Such a scam of a place and when you ask the owner about a refund he says it’s normal their machines have issues snd we will see the money again later on during the week. I would think twice before going to a scam of a bar!

The Deck is always festive. It is set up to accommodate any crowd and the atmosphere is very friendly. The service is impeccable and the staff is courteous. Theres no food service but there is excellent dining in a short walking distance. Come check it out, youll have a great time.

A fun little local bar. The live music was great and the people it attracts make for a great atmosphere. Staff is friendly, and the prices arent bad. The only real critique is that even with the extra restrooms they brought in, there seemed to still always be a line.

Mostly covered outdoor venue with local bands every Friday and Saturday. Locals of all ages tend to be present and crowd size varies significantly depending on the band and weather. Drinks are reasonably priced. Bartenders do great job. Very poor restroom accommodations.

The Deck is a bar with limited bathrooms. Lots of TVs to watch a game. A few good restaurants around the Deck, but the Deck does not serve food. Great place to watch a band and they get several good ones. $5 annual pass. Service is very good at the bar. No table service.

Just loved the outdoor setting in the easy to manage Jamestown area. Beware of aggressive towing practices in Jamestown. Not the fault of the business, just follow the signs. Actually the staff was very attentive and warns its customers if they parked in certain areas. I will definitely go back. Live bands and reasonable drink prices. 21 and up, kids keep walking. Cant wait to go back.

Fun place to hangout with friends if you show up drunk, otherwise the deck is one of the worst places to go get a drink at considering you’ll be waiting in line 30-40 minutes just to only be allowed to order 2 drinks (Personally wouldn’t recommend getting anything but beer or maybe straight shots considering they’re overpriced and don’t put enough liquor in their drinks) The locals are alright, i’ve seen some of them be weird and touchy around the college kids and others just mind their own business. The security does get annoying when they come around for the 3rd to 4th time asking to see wrist bands and the live music isn’t the best either, their bands just play loud and obnoxious songs so you’re practically screaming at someone to have a conversation and honestly they’d be better playing music off a playlist. I’d love to see this business do good and be a good bar for me and my friends to hangout at but they have a lot of stuff to change before it can ever get to that point.

Great music, layout, and atmosphere. Bartender was the absolute worst. My friend asked for a lemon drop shot and he put warm vodka in a glass with a lemon chard. I would say he can serve single mixed drinks and beer only.Also... there is a $12 minimum for credit cards. This violates their policy agreement with Visa. They are forbidden from doing minimums.

This place is great! The band was awesome as well! Great mix of ages young to old. Will definitely be back! Make sure you have $5 to get a membership. Then you are good!

Yeah go here if you want extra money charged on your card. If you call the owner to ask about the charges and and look at cameras to see who put xtra tip money on your card that you know you didnt approve he will threaten to press charges on you . Wow great customer service really pay cash only here folks or just dont go. The owner isnt willing to keep his customer

Awesome bands! They die down right after midnight when the band stops... and they kick you out at 2, not 2:30 like most places. As a bartender trying to do research(drinking), this is meh... Chill spot, but dont expect to hang around like a local...

I feel like it could be a great place.. however when i was there, after 40 minutes in line at the bar, we still hadnt even reached the bar to get a drink and left to go somewhere else. The crowd there this particular night was a bunch of young college kids that were immature and rude but i cant hold that against the establishment, thats why i gave it 4 stars. May try it again, not sure...

What a cool place to chill, and have fun! Jennifer was great behind the bar. It was karaoke night, and the heavy rain limited the crowd, but we all had fun.

The Deck is a great outdoor space. However, on the night I went they had the worlds worst band entertaining the crowd. I couldnt believe the owner would hire such untalented musicians. We should have known better than to waste our money on the cover charge because as we approached the front door we saw a mini mass exodus...that should have been our first clue! This place could certainly stand to shake things up a bit. Think karaoke night or even an open mic night. A great DJ who spins some actual music you can dance to would be amazing! I really dont want to go to a club and have to listen to someone old enough to be my grandmother sing Janis Joplin. The Deck needs to step it up!

Had a great time listening to live music. Cool atmosphere. No water at the bar? Had to buy bottled water. If I am hanging out all night and running a tab, the least they could do is fill up my cocktail cup with water...

There are some very friendly people there and most of the bar staff is friendly, but a few need to learn to smile. Especially since they have to share the tips. Not fair the nice and friendly have to give a away their hard work. You dont have to like the customer, you have to make them think you do though. At least smile and greet them! Youre there to make the business money and if youre sharing, and people dont tip you ,. you hurt your co-workers. Just saying.

This place is like someone throwing a romp in the back yard. Got there on a Friday at 11:55PM and paid $5 at the door. Band was already quitting by the time we made it to the “back yard”. Turned around to leave since there was only 5 people there and the door lady just closed shop. We stayed 2 minutes and paid $5 to see nothing. Don’t waste your time. It’s Jamestown.

**Revising this review**A group of kids just dumped 6+ bottles and cans in the parking lot of the Soap Lady. Trucks with their beds full of kids being dropped off in front of the building. What a disgrace to the Downtown Jamestown area. Especially for an owner who complains about the trash from the Christmas parade.We love this little gem in Jamestown! My mom and her husband were married here when it was still River Twist and The Deck still holds some of the original charm that the store had. The bathrooms are a slight issue, but its never too busy that youre waiting in line for an extemely long time. The bands are great and the bartenders are friendly. Definitely somewhere we love to go!

I went and it was open mic night, people were killin it on the drums man! They also have good music up front near the little fountain they have. Just an over all great place to chill, hang out, and grab a drink.

I have been here once before and had a great time; however I was denied access this Friday night sadly 😢 I had my emotional support animal with me and was denied access in, seemed kind of ironic because I swear I saw a dog there on my first visit. If an owner is reading this please let me know if this is a usual thing or not

Be warned there is a membership fee for this local joint, $5.00 but worth it.Staff are polite and bar moves quickly .Has a great back patio area where some great band play your night away.Nice local gem.

This place should change its name to The Dump. Its unfortunate and evident that they put no money into upgrading.The furniture looks like it was picked up from the back of a Goodwill. The ground and floors are uneven in the front area and in the back near the stage.

Cool hang out with great people. Mostly outdoor space. Well arranged with lots of smaller spaces in the big space. Excellent place for a party.

If you are looking for a laid back place with live music and cheap beer, youve found it. They have great options for outdoor seating, friendly staff, and you cant go wrong with a tall can of PBR. 😉

Some of the bartending staff comes off as unwelcoming or unprofessional. Not all of them. I won’t go into detail. Certainly not a spot for minorities to sit back and vibe.

As another reviewer mentioned, this place kicks you out in an unfair manner and likely due to being asian or having asian friends. People lie and get you kicked out. Who wants to spend money at a place like this?

Terrible service!!! After waiting in line for over 15min, I asked bartender (female claiming to be a manager) for 5 coronas. She said they are out of coronas and went of to another customer. Not even giving a chance to order a different drink. She was very rude to all of the customers. The owner “Wade” wasnt even interested in hearing my concern. Tells you how much he cares about the business. Only good thing about the whole thing was the security guard that said they were over packed tonight but nothing he can do about it at the moment. The guy should run the business, at least he cares to listen about what is going on in that place. Wouldnt hurt for fire marshall to visit the place either!!

I came to the deck to celebrate my friends and that was short lived because the Asian bouncer discriminated against me and kicked me out because I wasn’t white. I will never come here again.

Absolutely ridiculously poor service. If I could do -2000 stars I would. You think coming down south you might receive some form of hospitially but this place is like being in the back of some peasant white trash trailer. Do NOT waste your money here. Go across the street to southern roots and enjoy yourself. They scan IDs and my 40 year old mothers wouldnt scan because she is out of state and they wouldnt even let her in. Shes gorgeous but clearly not 21 anymore. This place is horrible and probably will shut down in the next month for having cochraoches in their kitchen. WORST PLACE EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

The place is a dump! Everything about this place is a Firecode violation and yet they continue to operate like they have no liability. The dance floor is astro-turf-covered uneven, rock, pot hole substrate. The bathrooms have a MAJOR ick-factor going on and the mens bathrooms are port-a-potties that reek in the summers heat. The owner/manager is sooooo stingy that they no longer have cocktail napkins for your drink, even though they raised the prices some $2 a drink! The seating is barely existent and what is there is pure torture! Their Halloween Costume Contest was ABSURD! The guy dressed as Jesus (bad long-hair wig, burlap gown with a rope belt, a walking stick and flip-flops) won out over some magnificent and creative master pieces! Maybe they should have a Jesus costume contest and then let everyone else compete against the REAL costumes. Theres no real entry or exit and people barge thru everywhere, whether drunk or plain rude. The only good thing Ill say is that they still have entertainment as Flip Flops and Coopers have either gone away or changed their format.

Total dumpster fire and ruins the downtown atmosphere of Jamestown. Attracts the worst patrons and continues to get worse. I’ve seen multiple groups of college kids get out of trucks and drop all their bottles in the middle of the street.

A Jamestown/any town jewel! Quite by coincidence when/where foraging for food and drink, I discovered The Deck at River Twist. Perhaps better said, we discovered each other. As one well traveled, my attribution of The Deck is best described by way of camaraderie, service, selection and carnivale /unique old-world/60s/modernesque atmosphere which permeated and prevailed in a permanent fashion. I have found few places like this upon earth and especially in the U.S.A. There needs be more such places where the contrived pomp and circumstance of human façade is left outside the compound and marked for disposal upon leaving.A.K.A. Gypsy Priest.. Not proud, but loud as usual!... Listen for me at Open Mic.

$5 cover just to come in? Can’t even just go to the bar and drink? Should rename the bar “The Dick” like the doorman.
