I recently had a disappointing experience at the Jersey City Massage Envy location. I had accidentally booked multiple appointments, and when I tried to cancel the Jersey City appointment, the manager was uncooperative and inflexible. Despite explaining that it was my birthday treat and I wanted to make the most of it, she insisted on deducting half of the session time. When I asked to speak to a manager, she revealed that she was the manager and proceeded to cancel my appointment, but also informed me that I would be banned from the Jersey City location due to me giving a less than 24 hour notice.I found this response to be excessive and unnecessary. As a customer, I expect good customer service, especially when trying to resolve an honest mistake. In contrast, the Bayonne location has provided me with excellent service, and their staff is friendly and accommodating. I really enjoy the atmosphere too. Unfortunately, I will be giving the Jersey City location a one-star rating and recommending the Bayonne location instead.
Some front desk staff, in particular, Milly (not sure if I am spelling her name correctly), are awful to customers. She made an error in re-scheduling my appt with the only therapist I saw there for over 5yrs and then told me she recalled perfectly the call she had with me 3.5 weeks prior somehow. Was super passive aggressive by phone, and heard she acts this way with the internal staff as well. Such a disappointing customer service experience.
Horrible business practices. They never answer the phone or check messages so good luck trying to cancel or reschedule. I canceled my membership, in person, in front of a manager & I was still charged the following month (they did eventually refund after 2 phone calls). I don’t blame staff, I blame management. I’ve managed wellness studios & I would NEVER not put the customer first.Hoboken location sends out texts with options to confirm, cancel or reschedule. Plus they answer their phones there. Go to Hoboken!
I am a member of massage envy and I gifted my dad a session for a facial and the day of the appointment he was taken to the hospital and was in the emergency room which caused him to miss the appointment. I called massage envy to notify them about the siutation and with no understanding or having any type of sympathy the front desk rep was rude and just went and charged my account for not showing up. She told me she will place me on hold to ask a manager and of course she back on the phone within seconds saying that she spoke with the manager and was told that she need to charged for not showing up. When asked to speak with the manager she state the manager isnt there. Left me to think within secs you was able to call a manager and get an answer but I cannot speak with the manager. The front desk rep stated she can put me on call waiting list but still have to charge the account. I explained to her that there are some type of policy for situaions like this and she just got rude and acted like she did not care. I will be reaching out to their head quarters and reporting this to better business bureau. This is poor management and poor customer service. I will not recommend this location again.
Never buy packages at this place. Staff makes mistakes in booking your appointments and then they deduct sessions from your package and don’t want to give you the money back. It is very sad that the office has dishonest practices because it damages the work done by the masseuses and other staff. Staff is very impolite and stupid.I will never come back 😊.
The massage was good. However, I found it poor business when the front desk staff was not in place at the stated business opening hours. This is the 2nd time I came and was unable to get properly checked in. I suggest that appointments should be an hour after the stated open hour to ensure staff & the establishment are fully ready to receive customers. As its not a good look for clients who make the effort to come at their appointed time. Massage Envy stresses come in at least 10-15 minutes early, but does not have a team member available - UGH!

My experience was wonderful. I’m super active with working out and constantly under a lot of stress due to my occupation in the military. I always find myself in tons of pain and after the session with Fawzia I felt way better. She was thorough, friendly, professional and offered advice to alleviate the pain ( I.E, stretching, Epsom salt baths, ice baths and sauna work). It’s great to have someone who is knowledgeable and who is willing to give recommendations so that you can better yourself while traveling. Thank you so much and I’ll be back as soon as possible!

Tried calling this place to make an appointment four times before someone finally answered the phone (they just never returned the message I left them prior & I called within normal business hours). Then tried to make a prenatal appointment for evenings or weekends over the course of the next month/month and a half and they only do prenatal during the days on certain days - I guess you have to be a pregnant lady with a REALLY flexible schedule in order to be a customer here.
Meghan is AWESOME! Ok everyone there is.. Megan has been doing my facial treatments exclusively for a long while. I visit monthly, sometimes bi-monthly. So trust me the service, results, and products are great. . I think Megan is great with all skin types as I am a woman of color. Sisters dont be scared! They have products available for sale. I buy and LOVE OBAGI. I promise YOU Ladies OBAGI gives RESULTS! Just starting out with MARIN -not because OBAGI isnt awesome, because Megan suggested it. If you dont know what /how to use products when home, Megan will knowledgeably assist you. Im 45yrs old. Drink water and get facials 😊

Massage Envy Jersey City location’s staff wonderful!!! ALL EXCEPT A massage therapist name ANETTE. She starts the session with her suggested tip rate. If you don’t tip that amount , there will not be a second session. In my case I arrived for my third session, she came in and I was asked if I can reschedule with another therapist, going forward. Again otherwise than ANETTE…the staff is great.

I got 2 services done on the same day. First was massage which lasted for 30 mins only. I understand I was late by 10 mins. Massage started at around 3:20 and the masseuse ended the session dot at 3:50? It was a 60 min session!!! The best is yet to come - the oil used was sooo COLD and massaging with cold hands? I’m sorry to say but I truly have had better experiences. It was sad that a person is coming to relax and the experience wasn’t really relaxing.Sending session was the facial. Much better but it honestly didn’t really feel like a facial. I was told the procedure for each treatment is different which I understand but if it’s just about dabbing 10 different products on your face, I personally feel that I can do that myself! It felt like a wastage of money of $255 (for both services) and didn’t really see the results I was told or the experience that I was expecting.
This place is a scam. I tried to cancel my membership and they wanted me to pay for adfitional months of unused sessions, in addition to the unused 30 sessions I already paid for, in order to cancel this membership. Then they proceeded to threaten to send my canceled account to collections for services which were never even rendered. Its my understanding that if a business charges you $2400 but provides nothing in return, they should be issuing me a refund or credit instead of trying to extort me for wanting to terminate my membership. The management at this location is a disgrace and I will be filing a formal complaint to add to the list of others Ive seen filed against them. They are not in the business of making customers happy. They just want your money!!! At least thats the impression you get at this unbefitting location.

Very basic massage not just with David. I was scheduled for 60 min and I ended up on 45 min. I paid in advance for 6 sessions and probably will not will not use it in the future, and have 2 sessions left.
Overall ok experience. I booked a 60 minute Swedish massage. The receptionist was very nice and knowledgeable. The location was a little hard to find though from the Main Street. My massage therapist was Brian. He had good techniques but a little heavy handed and cold handed which is the opposite of relaxing. He aLao ended my massage early and didnt provide post-massage water or tea so that was disappointing but otherwise the massage was fine.

Do NOT enroll in the monthly membership. A money guzzling scam. Accrued massage credits can’t be transferred to friends unless you pay a $20 “transfer fee” and I discovered they would charge my credit card at my visit AGAIN even though I had accrued credits to use for my visit, leading me to pay double for one visit. Cancellation process is beyond ridiculous.

She recommended a product that I wanted to purchase with a gift card, however the girl in the front could not get the card to work despite me activating the card right in front of her, so I was unable to purchase the product which was unfortunate….but highly recommend Margaret if you go there.
I go here for Annette, the facility is fine! Not super fancy and a bit dated. It is always clean and comfortable but Annette is incredible. Such a wonderful caring person and so gifted as a masseuse.

Fell behind have 4-5 credits that cost around $90 each.Cannot pause the account to catch up because then you cannot use the credits.Cannot cancel the account because you lose the credits. (I would have 60 days to use all 5 credits.)Cannot speak to anyone cause per management Every location is individually owned and operatedRequest to speak to the owner. Nope.To top it all off next available appointment in the studio is in June.Scam.
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in to the end of your session. Margaret is very helpful and amazing. She has transformed my skin to be the best it’s been in years. I definitely recommend this location to my friends and family. You will not be disappointed.

Do not buy the membership. They give you the run around to cancel and change the rules every time you call about how to cancel and what that means for your remaining sessions once you do.Edit: In July 2020, after a 4 month long process of phone calls and emails I was finally able to reach a manager who sent me paperwork to cancel. The manager assured me that during the 30 days left in my contract I would still be able to transfer my sessions with the $10 fee and go to other locations. I sent my mother in law to get the service in my place and they charged me the full price of the service instead of using one of the remaining sessions. I called them and they said that it was a mistake on their end and that they had credited my card. Two weeks later I was still calling and getting told that they were processing my refund. I put a claim with my credit card for the charge (which they were lying about refunding) and today my mother in law got a call from their management saying that she is barred from going to any national Massage Envy locations and how could she not pay for a service that she received, that because of her the masseuse would not get paid. To top everything off, they blocked my account and are preventing me from using the remaining services on my account, while continuing to charge the membership. I had to put a block on my card barring them from any future charges.Save yourself the headache and just do not get a membership. Better yet, do not go to this location - the management is outrageously unprofessional.
I made an appointment over the telephone and when I arrived the next day it wasn’t recorded. They asked if I wanted to come back another day and didn’t bother telling me it was with the male masseuse! Not a great start. Seem super disorganised

Disclaimer: I’m not a very picky person and have a lot of empathy for people in service jobs. That said, the masseuse did not communicate well with what we were going to cover, he left without even saying the session was over, I paid extra for a food scrub and massage, he did not massage my feet or my arms during the Swedish full massage, he also used his elbows which I have never experienced before. Horrible experience overall. I paid extra for aromatherapy too but could not smell it. The room was stuffy and the lighting was harsh. Too expensive for such a bad experience. I will not be going back.
Went here for using a giftcard, but will definitely come back! The woman at the front desk was extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful with it being my first time here and gave me all the information I asked, since it is an investment for yourself! I came in with some ideas in mind and Surens assessment on what we ended up doing was well worth it! Havent felt a release in tension in my shoulders in years. Clean, follows health and safety protocols, and going in the morning was a great way to start my day!

My treatment session was a nightmare. First I was asked health questions by a loud woman in an open room. Then my session began late. I was moved to a room and the work began. No communication after I said it was my first treatment. No explanation of what wa being done or why, just scary silence. Even though my treatment started late, it ended early. On my way out I was asked if I wanted to schedule another treatment (no ) and if I wanted to tip ( hell no) Extremely unprofessional and extremely extremely unfriendly place
Five stars for Arnese’s massages. Zero stars for management. I have been a customer for ten years and my current plan is to use up my prepaid sessions and cancel ASAP.I did not get a confirmation call/text for my massage today. My husband noticed it on the calendar, so I called the studio to tell them I’ve had a cold and probably shouldn’t come in. They are insisting on charging me for the missed session! They said they’d knock it down to half if I got a doctor’s note.1) The policy on the website is you get charged half the cost for a same-day cancellation anyway, so if they’re charging anyone the full cost they’re ripping people off in the first place.2) I’m happy to get a doctors note, but the studio needs to encourage customers to cancel if we feel sick, not charge us. That’s putting a lot of economic incentive for people to show up sick and just say they don’t have symptoms. It makes me concerned for the safety of their employees, clients, and frankly makes me feel uncomfortable going there in the future. I listened to half an hour of their hold recording talking about their state of the art infection prevention protocols— which should include encouraging sick people not to come in to their appointments! If customers know they will be charged if they are sick... I’m sure there are plenty of people who would fudge it and say they don’t have symptoms so they don’t have to pay for a session they can’t use.3) I called my home location (Garwood) which told me they would normally let a customer cancel if they hadn’t gotten the confirmation, and definitely wouldn’t charge if you are sick. They have the same franchise owner as Jersey City but different managers. So this is definitely a specific problem with the Jersey City manager feeling her customers should bear the burden of the pandemic, not the business. It’s not safe, it’s irresponsible, and it’s awful customer service for someone who’s been loyal for ten years.Front desk claimed the manager would call me herself in five minutes... it’s been over an hour.

My partner and I both got massages here for the first time. Massages were pleasant and relaxing all staff were friendly and very kind - was looking for a bit more slow deep motion versus quick/superficial but overall was nice- maybe I needed to specify a different kind of massage. Bought the aromatherapy add on and did not feel like I could smell it at all during the massage. I thought it was an oil or incense add on but I suppose it was just diluted lotion they use which i could not smell at all throughout the service-this wasn’t made clear to me when I purchased the add on (and the pamphlet is very misleading it looks like a potent oil infusion or something). Last comment I have is that when we went to pay the person at the front was soft spoken but tried 3+ times to get us to buy a package or subscription. We clearly stated the first time we would consider it later but only want to check out with the services we had today but she persisted. Makes it quite unpleasant after having a relaxing massage to be pushed to buy something you don’t want and have been clear about the first time she asked. May check out in the future but not rushing back.

This review is specific to the Jersey City location. I loved my masseuse, but the service and management here is atrocious.Ive been a patron of this location for 10 years and I come every sunday for a 1.5 or 2 hour massage. They have amazing masseuses and Arnese Carty is one of the best Ive ever had.However, management is rude, disrespectful, and just wants to make money. Theyve avoided fixing the heat in the building for 2 winters now becuase theyre waiting on a part which is a lie. They think the tiny space heater in the freezing room is fine, but when you start out cold and the masseuses hands are cold its not fun.Management has also moved my massage 15-30 minutes earlier about 10-15 times in the last few years without notifying me to come earlier which cuts valuable massage time out and they made me pay full price. Theyve even completely cancelled about 5 times without notifying me (one time they notified me of cancellations two weeks in a row about 30 minutes before my massage when its too late to rebook at another location).I reached my limit this past weekend when I called them when they opened on Sunday to confirm I did NOT have a massage (I didnt have one on my calendar and I didnt get a reminder call/text but I wanted to be sure because their front desk is a mess) and I DID have a massage. I apologized and asked to cancel and they charged me for the session even though they did not send a reminder the day before as I have repeatedly requested ever since I replied STOP to the third-day-in-a-row text notifying me that there were appointments available on a monday, then tuesday, then wednedsay. I told them I did this and asked them to please call or text with confirmations/reminders days before because I book months in advance to keep my favorite masseuse and they ignored these requests for months. They argued with me, ignored what I said, and told me they did call (they did not) and they couldnt leave a voicemail because my inbox was full (they didnt call in the first place and the voicemailbox was not full). The manager at this location is a liar and does not care about her employees or her clients. She only cares about maximizing profits. Its disgusting and I will never be going back.Edgewater and hoboken locations are run MUCH better, never have these issues, are always on time, warm, and provide reminders.
My experience here was amazing. The girls in the front were super friendly and professional. They told me their names, but I forgot, sorry! Trisha was my massage therapist, she was awesome. She knew exactly how to help relieve some of my injury pain. She was also intuitve enough to understand that conversation kept me distracted through the process. Worth every minute and cent. Will for sure be back!

This was my 4th time at this Massage Envy and thankfully the 4th time was a charm! I’ve finally found the best. Angelique is amazing! She understood exactly what I needed and got it done!The previous three times I had someone different for each massage and the experience wasn’t nearly as good. Erica- the manager is rude and incompetent. I called at noon to cancel a 5 oclock appointment because Im not feeling well and forgot I had it because nobody called to confirm with me. She said they did call yesterday and left a message (which is untrue) and that I would be charged 50%. I said I asked her when she leaves and she told me 3pm so I said great, Ill speak to a different manager when I get there at five. When I drug my nauseous self there at 5pm, I discovered they canceled my appointment and charged me 50%. In addition they booked my therapist for a 90 minute massage- and no one was available for another hour !The other manager, Janet, was able to refund my money at least...She was much more understanding, calm, and pleasant.Two stars because even though the massages can be decent if you get the right massage therapist (Lee and a couple others are others are good but the majority are awful- avoid Vincent unless you want to come out with a rug burn and oily dreadlocks) you shouldnt have a manager thats so irresponsible.

And she said the manager did not want to talk to guest.On 10/25/2020, I payed for my wife to have a full massage envy experience, aroma therapy massage. Unfortunately and truly disappointing, my wife, left massage envy more stressed. During the appointment, Her masseuse talked from the beginning to the end. She politely told him she was going to put her air buds in her ears for peace, however the male masseuse continued to talk about political topics, his thoughts about Kanye West, Trump, being bullied in high school and other personal stories. Also when My wife asked what aroma would they be using for the aromatherapy, he said there is no aromatherapy because the coronavirus. So I paid for something that doesn’t exist.Once My wife left she called me and told me about her experience. I quickly called the location and spoke to the assistant manager she told me her name was Tiffany but I’m learning that is not her name. She said she was highly embarrassed to hear about My wife’s experience and that the therapist is very quirky. She said she’s hurt about complaints around those same topics but he’s an odd character. She offered me a refund and I accept it, but she said she needed her shop manager to initiate the refund. I have called every other day and the shop manager is never available or never at the location. They have taken my number but no one has giving me a call back. This is so unacceptable and I have had a membership with you guys and have never had this experience so I’m a bit taken aback. Maybe it’s because my membership was in the Maryland locations. I have a few employees who have memberships with you guys, they will be canceling
Everyone at the front desk is super friendly and helpful (I wish I knew their names but Ive encountered three and all awesome.) Raud is an excellent masseuse who really takes the time to listen to the issues. I have had nothing but positive experiences so far from this location and staff.
Linda is an amazing therapist at Massage envy. She listens to what you wish to focus on during your session and is making sure throughout the whole session that you are happy with how the massage is going . I received a massage from Chandler and it was amazing 🤩. Just what I was looking for something that is fresh, crisp, and straight to the point. He asked me if the pressure was ok through the massage. Continued to make sure I was comfortable and also asked me if I was relaxed enough. I haven’t been able to sleep so great for the past 3 weeks since working a lot in both my own company and at my everyday job. When I tell you I sleep like the saying is “ I slept like a dog” best sleep I have in a while. A major shout out to Latasha for closing me out excellent customer service. She made sure to ask me about my service and made me feel so welcomed. 🥰
Horrible not humble at all. Don’t want to make money. My husband forget his vaccine card and was told he needs to wear mask really.. how do I know if they have the vaccine shot? Did not let me speak to the owner or the boss in charge. On top of that charge me a cancellation fee. My husband when there to get a massage and what he got was frustrated. They supposed ease people anxiety not cause them. They trick you on giving up ur card so if something happens they can charge you a cancel bill. Why can they tell you that before hand. Simply horrible 😤 and I’m forced to give them a star 😡negative star from me😡😡😡😡
Please avoid!!!!!!!!! This is the WORST reception service that I have received in a while. They just made appointments and without reminding customers accordingly, charged customers with full session fees. This is no proper notice and there is no room to discuss, even customers are not properly notified. If you want a good service, you can find a lot of different good options, and this is the WORST service EVER! The people at the reception are not professional and they do yell at customers. Not a good place to associate yourself with.

If you go this place for the first time be very careful for the “promotions” that they offer you.I was tricked by one of their staff members Adrian S. who offered me a “6 month” membership after I had a massage with a gift certificate that I had received.I repeated multiple times that I wasn’t interested but at the time he offered me a free sign up and the option to have the membership for only 6 months. I called 6 months later, just to confirm that my membership would be cancelled and I was told that yes, that my agreement was done and that after that month I wouldn’t have anything else due.I checked my bank statement today only to realize that they have been withdrawing money from my account every month 2 times already for a service that I was told was cancelled and that I do not wish to utilice.I spoke with the person that calls herself the owner “Felicia Randolph” and instead of looking into it, she tried to charge me an additional amount for the sign up fee that I was given for “free” when I was lured into signing up.I believe that is the nastiest, most conniving way of conduction business.I now have two services which I must use prior to May 2020, to a place where I never want to be in again.I hope that the money that you took for me makes you that much richer. I also hope that whoever decides to get a membership or any service at this place is aware of the kind of people that they are dealing with.
The massage was good however, my masseuse finished the session before time. The massage started 5 mins late which is still okay but she finished it 10 mins before so basically Im getting 45 mins of service out of 60 mins session. Is this a normal practice? In other spas Ive seen them to use an alarm clock plus they always make sure to spend a few more mins extra. Im going to keep a track of it for the next sessions and if this is a norm here I wouldnt prefer to renew my membership.
Massages at this place are average, facials are bad. I was a member for 1 year, and decided to opt out. Filled in the cancellation form (in person as they insist) giving them 12 days of notice before my next payment cycle. They insist on having 10 days notice for cancellation. Despite doing all the things right, I noticed them billing my credit card for another 2 months after the cancellation. They tried to lie about the date of cancellation when I asked them on phone. When I went there once again in person, they issued me a refund. No apology was offered, and I am waiting for the refund.

Arness is a true professional, i have been her client for more then 9 years always caring and thoughtful making sure to concentrate on areas of my body that gives me discomfort... On my last visit i noticed changes in the decor of the spa which didnt look very warm and welcoming very unprofessional. Massage Envy appearance to industrial and needs to looks more like a SPA.

05.12.23 - The management has gone downhill and are now trying to steal from members. I was charged for services that I never consented to. It is incredibly sad that on a day I was supposed to be relaxing I am now stressed that my card was charged $85 without my prior consent for supposed upgrade that I never consented to.There are a ton of other similar complaints filled with the BBB. Please educate yourself before patronizing this business.

What a mistake signing up for a 12 month membership.. absolutely do not go this place. I’m double vaccinated and lost my vaccine card although I have a picture of it on my phone and they would not accept it. They are just making up their own rules and told me i need to get another physical card to show them. My vaccine center was in southern jersey so they are out of their mind if they think I’m going to drive their for a massage when i have a picture of it on my phone. To make matters worse they are not allowing me to break my contract.
I was a member for 1 whole year and think the massage is just about average. One can get a better massage for in the city. There staff at the front desk is so rude and non co-operative esp the manager Melisa . Twice i had issues with my membership and they manager Melissa was not ready to co-operate and was just trying to sell me another year of membership. I had also posted a feedback in one of the emails i got post massages asking how the experience was but there was no follow up. I would stay away from such place
Margaret was very sweet and patients with me. Before my appointment I had a migraine and felt sick after the session. Margaret gave me water and made sure I was okay before leaving. I will be booking another session asap
The worst experience at this location. The front desk staff and manager Deja are unfriendly and sarcastic.The membership is not worth it. They tie you in for a full year and make it difficult to get out of it. Save your $$$ and go somewhere else.
Honestly these guys were pretty good until today, its April 10 2020 and we are under a government quarantine. The business is closed and last month and this month I have been charged for a membership I could not use. Are these guys insane or insensitive. Its sad how fast you can loose a customer based off of how you handle a crisis. Just because your store is closed doesnt mean the franchise owner or manager is off of work. You are still collecting money for a service you are not providing. Call your bank and stop payments on your customers or you might not have customers when you reopen.Lastly, customers please make sure you go onto Massage Envy website, they automatically sell your information to third party customers please make sure you opt them to stop.
Ive been seeing Emelia for about 3 months now for my monthly facials and she gives one the best facials Ive ever had. Her service is great, she explains everything, and shes so friendly! Definitely recommend!
WORST service ever! Its a TRAP! DONT sign up for membership! When I signed up for membership, I was told that I could cancel it anytime. I cancelled it after a month due to poor service, and the front desk promised me that I wouldnt be charged in the next month. So I signed the cancellation form on the spot. However, they continued to charge me 70 dollars a month for 6 months. When I ask for refund, their manager is extremely rude and dishonest. She refused to give my money back and told me that the front desk guy had left. When I asked for the cancellation form that I had signed 6 months ago, they kept sending me an empty form. They even BLOCKED my phone number so I have to use my friends phone number to call. This entire experience felt like a SCAM. I cant believe this kind of business exists in the states. very sad and disappointed.

I came here for a first time facial of 60 mins after a gap of 4 months facial. The staff was friendly. But my expectations of facial means facial massage. However there was hardly any facial massage. It was only 5 mins facial massage, 1 min each arms and 2 mins neck. Rest of the time was applying products on the face. The cleaning that was done was for an extra 15$ Charged for LED use that made some difference and another 15$ charged for eye and all of it was included in the 60 mins. I have had better facials done at other local places where they use scrub, massage and remove dead skin from face. My expectations were different and not met. I was advised to do a 2 sessions of microderma or some treatment that will show result. I think massages are good hence the name massage envy, but the facial was not the best use of my time and money.
Jose is top class at his job. He’s attentive, kind and focused. He really knows where to go and what pressure to apply. I feel really comfortable with him and feel more released/relaxed after his messages. He’s a pro.
Last minute doctors appointment prevented me from making my appointment and I communicated this to the receptionist. Was unable to call to cancel since the appt was made late online the night before. It was a hassle getting the appt cancelled and the receptionist had an attitude. If I can’t make the appt but willing to reschedule, how are you “the receptionist” saying well too bad we’re charging you anyway. LOL..Finally received an appt cancellation after the hassle. This was annoying.
Horrible customer service. If I could give no stars I would. Went there for a gift card. Kept getting the run around. Extremely incompetent employees in the front of the store. The woman actually running the store wasnt any better. Kept telling me to hold on and taking other customers ahead of me when I had been waiting for a while. Business is business but bad customer service sticks. I truly do not recommend this place at all. There are much better massage places around but if you must go to this place the Hoboken location is much better.

Super bad.My wife asked these guys to suspend her account which they acknowledged but never did. Charged the monthly payment next month.Then I went personally to request suspension which they again acknowledged this has been done but again charged next month.Again I called up these guys and they said you have to provide written application for suspension.Only question.. why the hell this wasnt told very first time.Now you have my two months extra money but I am never coming back.This happened in Dec/Jan, you may check your records.
A friend, knowing I was extremely stressed from my recent move to Jersey City, gifted me with a membership at Massage Envy. When registering at the Jersey City location on Washington Street, I was immediately impressed with their caring staff and superb customer service. After my first massage, and witnessing the professionalism exhibited on every level, I wanted to be a part of the team. I applied for an associate position, was hired, and couldnt be happier transforming from client to employee. Our wonderful therapists and estheticians are sincerely there to help everyone on their path to wellness.

Very bad experience. Mainly due to the unsanitary nature of the experience, and also the money they charged knowing they had short-cut the entire massage by 25 mins, for an hour long massage. Firstly they rushed the whole thing even though there was no backlog of people waiting in line. They had me pay for the hour even though the massage started 15 mins late due their managements own mess up, and it ended 10 mins early. I initially thought of simply avoiding this place in the future, but decided to post a review due to the unsanitary nature of the room setup. When I asked if the masseuse could place a fresh cloth on the face area since i saw a fitted cloth that looked rugged and old, and unsanitary. I was given a look of confusion, isnt there a cloth there already?. The massage itself was not bad to be fair and i decided to not make a fuss and just avoid the place in the future. I ended up relaxing for the rest of the day since i had the day off from work. I started developing fever and uneasiness through the night and into the next day. I sit here today (a day after the massage) with high fever and thinking my holidays are ruined since i have to pack my bags and leave for my vacation tomorrow and i feel horrible. This is all thanks to MassageEnvy. This was a terrible experience and i personally would not recommend it to anyone.
I’ve been going to this Massage Envy for the past 7yrs for my massages. Leotis is the absolute best and my go to massage therapist. She always knows just the right amount of pressure I need, and I always leave feeling relaxed and my tension relieved.
My wife and I have been coming here for ?8+ years. Good experience with most therapists across that time span. Lately, therapist Surin has been working my recalcitrant back and posterior legs / iliotibial bands into submission (I’m 6’3” 190+) - highly recommended if you need someone able to generate deep, well- targeted pressure, and/or you’re a large human.
Service is great my therapist was very professional and gave me one of the best massages every. Shout out to Arnese the best ! Once again exceptional service. I look forward to my massage from Arnese.

The girl on the phone feels good about her job telling people they cant cancel. How do you sleep at night? The entire world is living a nightmare: COVID, losing loved ones to the virus, losing jobs, losing income; yet you have ZERO heart. This is how you will be remembered. This place is mediocre if youre used to Manhattan spas. HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY!
My masseur listened to loud rap music using his personal headphones while performing my massage. At one point, he even started rapping under his breath. It was quite audible, and I felt like my massage was programmed to the soundtrack of the music. The masseur was generally nice, but the massage was below average.Unfortunately, the manager refused to provide a refund on the 3 credit, 1.5hr (+$25 prepaid tip) massage. I was offered a 1 credit 0.5hr comp on my next massage booking. Would have considered returning had management resolved the issue properly.
I got a gift card for 1 hour free massage, and they said oh sorry theres only $10.81 on the card. I wonder if thats a common scam with them. Then I found out they did something similar to a friend in Long Island. I ended up paying another $50 plus.Oh and did I forget to mention, before I even got there, when I called and said I have a gift card for an hour massage. Their reply, are you a member, I answered no, they said... sorry, that wont work as we have to charge you the full amount.The the aura is nice, the business mind is such a turn off that, the pain of that lasts a lot longer than the comfort of the actual massage.It was better going to the Chinese massage people at the mall.

I hunch at my desk for 10 hours a day working remote. I did not realize how much pent up stress I had all over my body. Manny immediately knew what was causing my body stress and worked on it for an hour. After the session I felt like I was on clouds.

If you have the pleasure of getting Tamara, youre in great hands. She alone gets 5 stars. However, this place gets 1 star for lack of convenience (i.e. location/parking), and the young lady at the front desk. Its ashame I didnt get her name, but shes the chick with black curly hair sipping on her drink and rolling her eyes at you. Upon arrival, she was dismissive, ignored me and showed no interest to assist me. The young man behind the desk had to save that awkward silent moment, and set things up for me when he saw she wasnt even acknowledging my presence. Massage Envy should consider replacing that ogre of a person with someone who actually likes people and has decent communications skills.

Arnette the therapist is phenomenal! I have a fairly tight body type and have some sports injuries and she instinctively knows where to apply a lot of pressure and where to be gentle.
You need to do something about Chandler. I heard him the entire time I was in for a massage and he wasnt even my masseuse.

Very difficult. Have tried for several weeks make an appointment. Not accommodating. No concept of customer service. And they say its more of a member based place... How do you become a member when you cant get a massage. It was the last appointment of the day at 4pm though they are open till 10pm and could not move by 1/2 hour.
I’ve tried to call this location multiple times to book an apt. It automatically goes to an automated message saying “they’re busy”. I left a message but no call back.They apparently do not care about booking appointments. I’ve never heard of a service forcing you to go to their website and fill out all their questions in order to a get a service.I’ll go somewhere else.

Poor customer service.Front desk staff is not courteous at all. After being a member for more almost 2 years and after many disappointing experiences and no improvment even after complains and providing feedbacks, my wife cancelled her membership.
Like some of the disappointed reviews I came across, I too was lured into the membership and was told incase for any reason the service was not received it will be returned to the credit card. It’s been twice that I was charged when they were closed, now when I am trying to cancel the membership and asking for refund they aren’t taking the call/promise a call back and never return and once through say that the manager is not available.
I was moving out of town and requested a account freeze which they acknowledged but never done. They charged for next two months. When I inquired they told me to fill a paper form. Same question why they didnt tell me this very first time.

Massage Envy’s seem to have an issue with paying their workers and this location is no exception. They overcharge and don’t give you the full amount of time you pay for, there’s better places to go that don’t take advantage of employees and costumers.
