I got a gel mani pedi and leg wax and it was a wonderful experience. My tech was Nicki (sp?) and she was so sweet. They fit me in the same day I called! I don’t know why this place has lower reviews because they were professional, hygienic and accommodating. I had called Ultimate Nails at opening and they refused me saying that they don’t take walk ins and spoke over me. I will be coming back!!
I’m posting this review on behalf of my very dear friend, who had a horrible experience at this Salon today.I visited color nail city salon for a a manicure and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The service I received at this salon fell short of my expectations, and I feel compelled to share my feedback.Upon entering the salon, I was greeted with indifference by the staff, who seemed more preoccupied with their own conversations than attending to their customer. The lack of a warm welcome or acknowledgment made me feel unwelcome from the start.During the appointment, I had brought my own Chanel polish and asked to use it, to which the nail technician said they HAVE to use their own gel Color! I was treated very disrespectfully and my business will not be given to this salon who does not Appreciate people of color! My manicure was sloppy, with uneven nail polish application and cuticles left undone.I hope that my feedback is taken constructively and works towards improving the services, enhancing customer experience, and upholding higher standards of professionalism and quality in the future.
Have been going here for UV gel and was always an okay experience. However I just went to get the UV gel removed today and they completely ruined my nails with the e-file until they were paper thin. Then they had the nerve to charge me $25 for an improper removal that took all of 10 minutes.
I have tried to love this salon since it’s close to where I live. But every time I get a powder dip, I have to go back two days later for repairs. This time she repaired it so sloppy that it chipped and cracked again. The atmosphere is cold and unfriendly. I have been getting my nails done for years. I do not recommend.
Ive tried Color City Nails a few times now and theyre one of the only salons in the area that can do UV gel and they always do such a good job! Theyve typically lasted me over a month almost as well
Would give them no stars if I could. I went in there requesting white nail polish but the lady doing my nails told me I was too dark to get white. Appalled and disgusted that they’d treat customers this way, never going back.
This is my favorite nail salon in downtown JC. They are always so friendly and welcoming, and their green tea pedicure is a special treat. Gel nails tend to go on a bit too thick, but I have had great experiences with their regular manicures which looked surprisingly wonderful a week later. They also do good eyebrow touch ups! Have been going every 1-2 months for several years and its always been a good experience!
Amazing experience, highly recommend.I have been to many salons, and this was by far the best service. Not only did my dip polish, and pedicure look great, but the overall hospitality and quality of service was great. Very impressed.
I love coming here for their Spa Pedicure deals. They are so lovely, comes with a foot massage and either a basic manicure or 10 min back massage. They do a great job at making it relaxing, a great massage and feeling comfortable.Good job on the pedicureCould improve a bit on the cleanliness in the corner pedicure stations, there were some ants crawling on the chair, could’ve been summer & situational but apart from that I always have a good experience here
Hard to find consistency with manis pedis - but this place has impressed me! I lived in Manhattan for 3 years and was never able to find a place as good as this one. They’re efficient without being too hasty and massages are superb. Fair prices and seem to always have availability. Highly recommend.
Wow! My nails look incredible! This was my first time here and I am So happy! I got powder gel tip extensions and they look wonderful and cost $60! My manicurist was extremely thorough and meticulous. It took a bit longer than expected, but I didn’t matter because she applied extra coats to make the tips stronger.
Got powder nail polish and regular pedicure with color. My dip started to crack two days after and chipped four days after. I’ve never had that happen so quickly when getting powder (that’s the whole reason I get it). My toes were rushed so the polish I could’ve honestly done myself at home. I likely won’t return
I went to color city nail spa to get a pedicure and manicure. The work they do is not bad, just the usual but the amount they charge feels like a rip off. I got simple pedicure done, no gel nail polish which they lady did in under 15 mins and charged me $27. I also got a manicure done using dip powder I brought myself and they charged me $47. When they showed me the bill, they said if i pay cash they will give me $7.40 off else with card it came to $74. I tipped for pedicure and manicure for $20.So the total came to $94!!!Now the thing is as this is a family run business all workers belong to the same family. So essentially I was tipping the owners and they also charged me the extra $7.40 as I paid by card, so they are fooling uncle sam as well, as they donot want to show their true earnings.
People only come here because it is close to where they live. I really try to not come here too often but just hope they get it rightI have some reason to think WOC are just not their favorite here. They’re much kinder to other ladies.Came here for a regular pedicure with no upgrades or extras. It was $25. When she put the flip flop on me to walk me over to the drying station, she scratched up the big toe nail. I didn’t notice until I checked to see if it was drying. I brought it to her attention. And the attitude was just unreal. She said “be more careful next time” and I just wanted to tell her it was her. There was no possible point that I scratched it up because I’m just neurotically gentle with my pedicure. She then dumped a whole goop of nail polish. One hour later under the dryer and I still couldn’t get it to dry. Forget asking this disgruntled tech if she can do another touch up
I booked an appointment online a day before for a regular pedicure. the next day, an hour before the appointment they call and ask if i can come earlier. this worked well for me because work ended earlier than i expected and i was going to call to see if my appointment could be bumped up!at the salon they have a great collection of nail paints. they had brands like OPI, Essie and Essie gel couture. this may be a standard but i’ve been to salons where i’ve seen no name brands and the polish chips after a day or two.she tries to convince me to try out a spa pedicure, and after reading the menu card i give in. and it was really really nice! i got the $45 lemon spa pedicure. that included leg scrub, deep moisturizing, a 10 minute leg and feet massage, callus removal, hot stones and probably more that i’m forgetting! she did it so well!will definitely be back!
I’ve been here a few times. The staff is very kind and the basic manicure and pedicure is great. However, I recently went in to get tips and it just all went wrong. It was my first time getting tips from them and it cost me $80 with design. The shape was off and my nail polish was lumpy, making my nails look oddly formed - which I could deal with - but worse than that my nails chipped within 2 days and I lost 3 of my nails in less than a week. I’ve had basic manicures that last longer than that and I paid EIGHTY dollars. From a design and nail shape/form perspective, I thought maybe it was just me, but all of my friends who saw my nails made comments about how poor they looked. I’ll never go back to them for tips and don’t recommend it and honestly most salons can do a decent job with basic mani/pedi so I’ll just be looking at other salons in the area.
Not hygienic and damaging to the nails. I asked to remove gel polish prior to a manicure/pedi ($5 upcharge for each), and instead of safely soaking in acetone, a high speed polisher was used, damaging my nails and making them thin and very brittle. The polish manicure started chipping the same day, and my nails broke from having the top nail layers removed. On top of that, dirty and used slippers and an emery board were used. Will not be coming again.
It was my second time here. First time was very good experience. The owner was there and he was very nice. As I had very good experience, I brought my friend for mani and pedi with me today. Kyle at front was very rude. My friend had with Ani and she did very good. The girl did mine was not experience and she made cut on my skin while removing cuticles. I wish I had the girl who did mine last time. Nice place but ask for Ani.
Im from Michigan and needed a gel manicure and regular pedicure asap and was blown away with the services Linda gave me. I have never gotten such a thorough pedicure in my life maybe Michigan has to step it up!! Ive never had two dryers one for each hand Im telling you I was so impressed with her always asking if it was ok with what she was doing. I reviewed all the salons in the area by the hotel and it was a 25 minute walk but so worth it! Also they had a color I had loved before but couldnt find. OPI Chiffon my mind. Wish this salon was by me. Thank you!
I went in for a pedicure with a broken toe nail they asked me upgrade and gladly did that. I haven’t received the 55$ pedicure. They didn’t trim my cuticles she didn’t even file my nails. Felt the entire experience was rushed she didn’t even do the top coat !I usually go to this place because it’s close by. But won’t go back there!
Spent over $80 for a combination i didnt even want (glue on tips and dip base, gel mani on top) i kept asking for shorter length and eventually gave up after asking several times to go shorter. Gluing on tips with nail glue is outdated and I had asked if they did Gel X and before really explaining she just started gluing the tips on. I dealt with it and figured they would last. WRONG, the very next day the one nail ripped completely off just getting caught on my jacket pocket, was gushing blood and in a lot of pain. The following days the rest of the nails were chipping or falling off, biggest waste of money ive spent in a salon in a long time
Ive been several times and have never been disappointed. Ive even recommended this particular salon to my germaphobe friends who have had wonderful experiences. Consider a bulk of their bad reviews are from 7-8 months ago - when they first opened - you can imagine they have since worked out issues/kinks and are running well. Clean and reliable. They also provide a happy hour mani/pedi savings M-Thu 12-3pm.
We walked in and we’re told 20 minutes. 30 minutes later we went up to ask if it would be soon and were told a minute or two. Then 5 minutes later we again had to ask and were told to come back in 20 minutes! No idea how they do nails but they had horrible customer service. If we hadn’t gone up to ask they would have just left us to sit. We went to New Zion Nails instead and had an amazing experience.
Love this salon! Won’t go anywhere else in JC! They have tons for colors to choose from, an amazing staff, and I love that they always give a little neck rub when you get a manicure. 10/10! ❤️
Very nice...but! They dont offer much in the way of design options. My nails also chipped less than one week after going there... I understand why I was able to just walk in when everywhere else I called, had at least a one week wait time!
Great powder manicure and spa pedicure every single time! Very nice staff, clean, free WiFi, tons of colors to choose from, great mini massages as well. My top choice for a nail salon in Jersey City.
I walked in with my aunt around 7:30pm, they accommodate us for pedicure. Our pedicure was done within 20mins. I’m not sure if they rush to us cause we were last ones or they are just quick when it comes to pedicure.. I always go to NailTek and they take time to clean your feet, 45mins minimum on the pedicure. I guess I’m spoiled :)
I was the only customer but they rushed me out of there and shredded my cuticles. Never again.
Love this place. Super clean and great massages! I really like how they line the pedicure basins - very hygienic. Not sure why other people had to wait b/c I always walk in and havent had to, but maybe its just timing.
I had a great experience! the salon was clean, the techs were nice, and the service was really good!
They do great pedicures. Just cant go on the weekend its full and super busy. The girls and guy are patience and nice. But the custoners are alittle arrogant, rude and snobby but its downtown jersey city. Me and my husbabd love this place.
Awful gel pedicure, and I was really disappointed with the customer service. I think the girl was either not licensed or extremely inexperienced. I have a cut on my toe that bled, and tried to explain this to the manager before leaving the salon, but he didn’t seem to care, So I asked to have the owner call me and needless to say that never happened. There are so many better, less expensive salons.
My big toe nails are straight but during pedicure the nails were cut to be unnecessarily short. I’ve gotten ingrown toenails like that before
Took a chunk out of the side of my foot while filling. The woman was aware, kept looking at it, and then finally put alcohol on it when we were finished. The foot massage consisted of her pushing as hard as she can on the tendon on the bottom of my foot. It was excruciating. After all that, they still charged full price knowing I was bleeding out of the side of my foot. Never again
When family was visiting my wife, daughter, sister, and niece went here for manicures and pedicures. Service was great‐-very attentive. Prices were reasonable, as well.
Got a great mani/pedi which was also cheaper pricing than neighborhood competitors. Entirely thorough, not rushed and Covid precautions were great. Temp taken at door and all services done behind plastic shields!
3.5 stars - this place is just average. Pretty clean/ ”meets the standards” for cleanliness. Pricing is also average. Timing is Slower than average. End product is usually pretty good.
Love this place.... have been going for 2+ years and am always satisfied. Love their spa pedicure and gel manicure. Very clean and covid friendly!
Place inside looks beautiful and clean but be prepared to wait even if you have an appointment... seems to me like they over book and simply make you wait without any indication when you’re next. Be prepared to wait 30min past your appointment time.
Been going there for a while now and it’s great. It is all I need: good prices, clean, no long waits. So far so good!
I take my Mom every 2 weeks, she loves this place. They do nails, messages, waxing and more.
Manicure lasts longer than other places. The male employee is rude with a nasty attitude.
Visiting from Australia and the SNS manicure was fantastic. Better then my regular salon at home. Not cheap but worth it.
Always a great experience getting my mani/pedi. My wife and I moved away recently and we already miss it.
5 stars every time I go here. Love the shoulder and neck massage
The best pedicure and massage therapy ever..Little high the price but it was amazing..I strongly recommended
Great Pedicure! Prices affordable just beware the up sales....unless wanted. 😎
Love this place - great prices, emaculate shop and great quality on gel manicure
Best place in downtown JC for dip powder manicures.
This is my go to place in Jersey City. Its clean, open, has great service and prices.
They don’t keep their appointments. Wait can be 20-30 minutes even with an appointment. Service is spotty and not well kept
Great experience will definitely go back
Amazing staff, reasonable pricing, clean and safe :)
Friendly staff and excellent service
Mediocre services and Products wrapped in a Nice location and decor
