We had a great time watching the show. Been to the garage stage here at Knuckleheads and this was the first time at the outdoor stage. So fun. The industrial area adds to the gritty vibe of this venue and is easily accessible. Highly recommend seeing live music here, they have a great history of booking top notch performers.
My husband and I went to the venue for the first time to see Savannah Dexter & Brabo Gator perform and it was AWESOME! The only drawback was that there were children there which I dont believe would be an appropriate place for them on a Saturday night - especially when people are drinking. Other than that the staff was super friendly and the whole atmosphere had a really good vibe. Be sure to take cash since it is a cash only bar with a couple of ATM machines in the building but who wants to pay those fees? I will definitely be back!
Excellent venue! Wonderful drinks, patrons, live music, and location! Relaxing and fun! Lots of motorcycles to see as you enter and exit! You wont be disappointed in any direction! The entertainment is the big draw of people from all walks of life! You wont be disappointed with venturing out to this establishment! Have fun and be ready to have a great time, from below or up above, not a bad seat in the house!
I remember I think they were once in a barrack! Well a lot has changed since then. The garage (part of knuckleheads) it’s a huge warehouse. It’s definitely a warehouse built to look like a live event venue. But what they lack in luster they make up in sound quality, visual quality, and well produced events! Hats off to guys! You’ve done a great job putting on big city looking sophisticates productions!
Iconic Kansas City stop for live entertainment! Free jam on the weekend days. Cash only at the bar, debit card for food. Several venues in one place so theres an opportunity to see other shows if one is sold out! Check out the Gospel Lounge, they have such wonderful, intimate shows with top notch performers. Lots and lots of free parking. Owner does an excellent job booking talent. Wide range of clientele in age and dress code... come as you are and stay for the party!
My wife and I love Knuckleheads. It is a Kansas City legend. We try to see as many shows there as we can. We have seen shows on the Garage and in the outside facility. This last show was Almost KISS and KC/DC. My 19 yo son was able to join us and the experience was so much fun. Going as often as we do, I have gotten to know some of the staff and they are all friendly and accommodating. It was hot outside but most of the venue is shaded by the time the shows start and the airflow is excellent. Drinks are reasonably priced and bottled water is just $2. The complex is cash only so be prepared. They have multiple atms available if needed.
This is a great concert venue. Unique history makes it an interesting spot. There are both indoor and outdoor stages, one outdoor being the largest. We saw John McEuen and Riverrock at the largest indoot stage with a great crowd. Very nice to hear him and Les, another NGDB alumni with Riverrock. Was a hot day, great to get inside after waiting for the gate.Arrive early to get any close in parking, handicapped etc.
A great little bar with awesome live music. Everyone is super friendly. Open air if its nice, all indoors if not. Knuckleheads is a fun, casual place with a great vibe. See you there!
Last year Billy bob Thornton was here so this year I went to see him, first time here, parking I got lucky there, a band played before Billy, this place was easy to get to, the place was packed, right side is the stage! You could see the stage outside, chairs and bleachers, food truck outside or on the left was a building, you can get your drink, CASH only, see pix, food next to it, in the same building sign said Restrooms, walk into this big room, stage with three Tv, that if you don’t want to be outside, you can watch, bathroom were nice, women on the right and men on left, my only problem was gossip lounge! Where is it, I will have to check that out, another band was playing in that place, anyway parking get there early or lots of people leaving at 10 pm which will free up some parking
The family and I visit here a few times a year to see different bands. Its always a great time surrounded by fun people. Its cash only, so dont forget your money, but if you do, they got an ATM for you!
Knuckleheads is a really great place to go and they have the capability of having four bands play at the same time on there 4 stages.. I particularly like the open-air venue. There are a lot of really good acts that perform here
The atmosphere was electric! Friendly people and great live music! It felt like home. Cant wait to go back!
A Kansas City staple!!Depending on where you typically go in the city, this may feel a bit off the beaten path. However it is worth a visit! Especially if you are interested in local music and supporting up and coming artists.Knuckleheads has a few different venues that all have different vibes, but they are all clean and well maintained. The bars are cash only, but they have ATMs readily available. The sound is typically pretty good too! Sometimes smaller venues cant get the levels right and everything is muddy or too bright. The crew at KHs seem to have it all figured out though. There is always something to check out there!
Note: its cash only. Of course its not a problem, but you need to know before you go. There is an ATM.Such a cool venue!EVERY time I go its a great time.Sundays are jam days where super talented people jam on stage with each other. There are frequent big-name guests through the week. Check online for the schedule. The bar and venue have a gritty feel that is awfully fun when youre unwinding from the work week. The stands that overlook the stage from above set right next to the railroad tracks. Its terribly cool.It can get crowded sometimes, but everyone seems friendly. There seems to always be just enough seating available to find a spot even when its crowded. There is a kitchen, but Ive not had the food. The tacos and burgers look average. Maybe dont come here and complain about the food.Edit: maybe dont come here for the food and then complain about. Go for rhe music and friends and beers...maybe not the food. There is motorcycle-only parking in front, but plenty car parking is available, too.On a whim, I read some of the negative reviews. Maybe dont go to a live venue called Knuckleheads and then complain about noise or the food or trains or motorcycles or location or whatever. This place is super cool and dont ruin it for the rest of us.
There are a lot of good things to say about this music venue. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere, quirky decor and friendly staff. Each stage has its own charm. Both indoor and outdoor stages. There’s good tunes coming from here with classic rock, 80’s, and some country music. The bar is cash only. The food is good and not over priced. When you visit, plan for a very casual atmosphere. Enjoy!Park on the side of the tracks, towards the bar. The railroad track is very active and sometimes it’s impassable. Your Uber may also get stuck on the wrong side of the tracks.
This is a really chill, high quality venue for rock lovers. I saw two shows in the garage, and there did not feel overcrowded for both the seated and standing options. It was really easy to get near the stage (if theres no VIP) and the surrounding sound is incredible and not overwhelming in any area. Easy parking and entry with lots of great history in its decor.
Went to go see the Mavericks last night. When they got on stage, Raul Malo said, We love playing at Knuckleheads. Thats why we come back every year. Its easier to buy someone a first class plane ticket, put them up in a good hotel and show them this place than it is to describe it. Hes right. Its a great outdoor stage with a large dance floor. Tables are in the balconies and in the sides with a set of bleachers thrown in. Its in the East Bottoms of the Missouri River next to a train track that sometimes competes for the sound. But its so much fun. The patrons range from ages 10-90 and if the band is great ( which the Mavericks are) everyone dances either on the dance floor, by the tables or in their chairs. The food is good, the beer and water are cold and the staff is helpful, plentiful and fun. I danced with a waiter or two in my way to the dance floor. Go, relax and above all have a great time. Its hard not to do at such a fun, unique, location!
About 10-12 years ago, Knuckleheads was the best place to watch the Mavericks. It’s changed since then. I don’t think I’ll be watching them there anymore. If you’re not friends with the owner, you can forget about getting a decent seat, no matter how many hours you line up in advance. They claim they don’t do reservations, but then you get there and half the venue is reserved. Everyone else gets crammed in like sardines or stuck in some totally obstructed space where you basically just watch the show on TV. It’s disappointing. On the positive side, I imagine the place is still pretty neat for the smaller, less crowded shows. The staff is nice and good at their jobs. Being by the train tracks is cool.
I enjoyed myself. Great venue and affordable prices. Only cash so make sure you bring it however they do have an atm. Good stage and a small dance floor but that’s ok. Clean restrooms.
I was a little worried about taking my 10 year old to see her favorite singer Savannah Dexter considering its a bar late night. It was so much fun!!! Everyone in front of us realize she knew every song and let us right up to the front she had the time of her life!!!! Thank you knuckleheads for making it an amazing first concert
I love this place so much. Cheap drinks, great performers, low key atmosphere. Cash only bar but they have an atmosphere. Be sure to watch their calendar for shows and get tickets in advance as some shows sell out early!
Always a good time! Everyone is so kind and nice from the parking attendants to the staff, to the other concert attendees. If youve never been there, it would be too hard to describe the physical place and the atmosphere!
What a cool venue! So many stages to accommodate many different sizes of shows. When we first pulled up I thought there was no way that there would be enough room to even have a small concert but I was amazed as I went in and saw the spacious Garage. Im telling you this place is cool! I cant wait to go back for another show!
This was my first time visiting Knuckleheads KC on Feb 9. 2023. Ive been wanting to go for quite some time so my friends BD was the perfect occasion to go! We were definitely not disappointed at all! The experience far exceeded my expectations for sure!!! It wasnt just the 2 bands going on simultaneously in different areas of this unique venue (which were awesome!) But it was definitely the building & atmosphere too that added sooo much to my memorable experience! It has the strong presence of a well seasoned concert hall that had been blessed with multitudes of well known & gifted performers of decades before. Each had left their mark & part of them were still there in some form, Im convinced, last night! If the sense of their spirit wasnt enough, there were posters & pictures with signatures of them EVERYWHERE, even on the ceiling--quite a treat to behold & sit in their presence!!! Their food was fantastic, too--my pleasure was a loaded minced wonderfully seasoned chicken wrap for $11 & was Heaven!! Youll need to order before 9p as kitchen closes. Theres a fully stocked T-shirt shop & a bar/drink open during the concerts. No cover, well lit ample parking very close by building & many handicapped slots right near main entrance. Tickets for the amazing Alastair Greene Band were $15 ea & no extra fee for fabulous blues band in the Gospel Gallery burning things up by the House Crackers! Awesome music there!! My friend loved celebrating her 64th BD there & I was pleased to be part of it too!! I KNOW WELL BE BACK SOON!!! WOW YAHOO AMAZING!!!
🎉 What a great venue! The sound was great, and the crowd was really chill. Seeing such an incredible 2-time Grammy Award winning 80s band like Living Colour that close was fantastic! They were amazing!!! Bringing my teenage daughter = PRICELESS. ❤️🔥🎶💿🎙🥁🎸
I love this place. So much. At least I used to. But now theyre selling more tickets to each event yet they have not expanded their facilities. I waited in line at the bar for 25 minutes last Saturday. Way too crowded for the space.
Kansas City - ABSOLUTELY GO HERE!!! Thanks to the sales guy at Outlaw Harley who recommended it. We went Friday night, two bands playing (separate venues on property) we caught the Avery Grouws Band (15-star band, why they aren’t common knowledge is your loss AMAZINGLY talented they can sing any genre). LOOK UP AVEY GROUWS BAND AND GO SEE THEM!!! This is and old motorcycle shop converted to a dive bar with live music! Easily our favorite surprise on the trip. The mix stiff Vegas style drinks at Midwest prices!!! Seating was great, large TV screens but even from the back you are close enough to see their eyes! Places handles loud band and fired up crowd well. On site kitchen delivered some amazing looking fries, o-rings, and nachos (unfortunately they closed the kitchen before we tried them). Cheap door admission, good parking. Crowd was awesome. We like this place so much we broke our golden rule (when going to a new destination we never frequent the same business twice) we came back on Saturday to listen to the afternoon rift session. These musicians aren’t pros but they could be (or they’ve retired and still love playing) either way it was great. I hope JJ shows up if you go, that man was incredible. At 77 years old he puts on a fantastic show and the crowd loved him! This place HAS to be on the top of your to do list in KC! Easily 20-star experience. Staff is amazing, but given the talent there it would be hard not to love going to work!
The band was Outakes, so there was good music, family, and drinks. Great night! Bathrooms were clean, and someone came around to pick up empty drinks and food !
Great outdoor music venue. I’ve seen several bands play there. Mostly Blues… they have a rich history of supporting the KC Blues scene. Also saw some country bands. They have lots of good acts come through. They are situated right next to the train tracks in the East Bottoms, so you’ll probably hear a train or two during the show. They have a good sized indoor stage also… acts are typically moved in there when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Its a really neat venue... Its small and intimate in a way but its also like a labyrinth with lots to explore. The staff were super helpful and sassy (it was like 5 ladies that reminded me of my Grandma and now I love them). We had a blast. And the seating options so close to the stage are epic for those of us that cant rock out like we used to. 😊
My first time at this venue. I saw John 5 and Queensryche. They were great and this is an awesome live music venue! The food, drinks and environment were all 5 stars!Ill start with the drinks. $4 shots of Patron... Great Deal! A wide variety of beer at great prices. Awesome! The only thing was I always had to wait in a line to get a drink. Small thing which probably kept me from drinking too much. The food was pretty good. Not great but much better than average for a place that is focused on drinks and live music. The BBQ pork sandwich with chips was most awesome! I definitely recommend. Burgers and nachos were yummy as well. The venue was sold out so it was full! There are options for seating but it limited. The stage and sound system are great. Again, this was my first show and I drove in from Omaha. Ill be back for sure! The bands crushed it and sounded fantastic. This mix and acoustics were very good. Very well done!!!Im looking forward to my next show at Knuckleheads! Sooner is better!
Place was an amazing place to watch a rock n roll show. Seats were awesome!
THE BEST BARBECUE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! Knuckle Heads brought in a guy (Brent) who runs Diamond W Barbecue and served hands down the best food I’ve ever tasted! Top notch barbecue at a great price and amazing friendly service!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I went here for the first time ever about a month ago and had a Fn good time!! Great crowd of fun people!! I have been back 3 times now!! Most recently seen The Lacs there and what a Hell of A Night!! Cant wait for them to come back! Highly recommend that if you have never been to Knuckleheads, you have to go at least once. Who am I kidding if you go once you will go again and again!! Great time, great experience!!!
Saw Dale Watson here! Amazing venue, clean, friendly staff, and Frank the owner is an amazing man. Would come here again for another concert!
Wanna see a show at a bada$$ place? Get tickets for a show here, and you wont be disappointed. Every stage is unique with food to order, and cold beer! Full bar usually!
Kickass little place to watch live music and have a few drinks. They have cash only bars, so bring some bills. They have a little food stand with tacos, burgers, and fried foods(the tacos were very good). The concert we attended was outdoors and a perfect setting for a nice night out. We will be back for sure.
Great band was there. Had seating on a tall table in front. Problem is that people stand in front are and then the people that got there earlier to get a table. The people that arrive latter have only standing room for the show blocking all the people sitting from seeing the show. Needs more seating like the garage with raised platforms for the seating area. Cash bars only.
A Kansas City classic. One of the better small act venues in the Midwest. They do a great job at supporting the local music scene. Prices are very reasonable. CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM on site. There are free jam sessions if you check the calendar. Food is great, make it part of your visit. There are 4 stages that rotate based on weather and crowd size.
So what’s not to like about Knuckleheads? It is all the ambience of a retro honkytonk but with modern day accommodations and kindness. I’m used to concert venues being hostile and overly aggressive with their patrons. But Knuckleheads staff greet you warmly with corny humor. Since it is a general admission venue, it is common to line up for hours before entry. They have free WiFi and port a potties to use. The patrons are generally older and quite chatty. And several times during the show, the train will speed past tooting its whistle. It’s a vibe. And it’s uniquely an experience for knuckleheads.
Great venue. Went for a festival and the two stages are super close yet super isolated from each other so one band doesnt distract from another. The food is pretty standard bar fare but its really well done. Will definitely be back for another show soon. Any place in KC that serves food and has three of some of Kansas Citys finest BBQ sauces ready for your meal is pretty awesome in my book.
One of the top music venues in KC…always a great time! Catch a show that’s playing at the train stage, by far the most unique setup around!
Went to see Atlanta Express, and they were so good. The dancing floor is too small, could not Dance... You better take cash if you want to buy food at the Garage..😕
Here for the tribute to Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars show. Good times! Good drinks! Great entertainment!
Went to see Robert Cray preform here. It was great. Nice venue & the performance was very good 😊
Great show venue. Staff is friendly and happy to see show patrons. Great lineup of shows, free parking in a lighted lot.
I love all the live bands, especially M80s and The Outtakes, jam sessions, many genres, many stages and the owner Frank and his wife. My friends and I love being outside when its nice and love dancing the night away. Cash bar, but you can use card at door and for food. Allow extra travel time due to train traffic.
Went to Mavericks show last night, didnt get to see them as they overbooked and no place to sit. I am Disabled Vet and could not stand thru the opening act to wait for Mavericks what a waste of time and money!
Best live music in Kansas City! This particular night was in the Gospel Lounge and one of the most enjoyable entertainment sessions I’ve ever heard. Carl Butler along with guest, Phil Vandel and band, put on a “show”! Intimate seating makes for a close up and personal setting and the sound is superb! Great talent, good people, uplifting experience.
Took a trip to Knuckleheads with a VIP Larkin Poe package in hand. What an awesome experience!! Theyve made a major improvement to how VIP packages are managed now. Last time we met in another building then had to get in line for the actual concert/show. This time we met the band right in the stage area and remained there for the performance. That was so much appreciated by the attendees. Ill definitely do that again. And, the place it just really cool on top of that. 👍
I have been to Knuckleheads many times over the years and this is the first bad experience I have had. I feel like they over sold this show. Not nearly enough seating and a very long lines for the bar. I am paying $20 to watch a concert on a tv screen. Not happy.
They just doubled the space by adding The Garage music venue and bar across the street. The Garage is a large open venue that was formerly a semi garage so there is plenty of space to enjoy the concert with tables, theater type seating and a large bar. They serve food though 3rd party vendors near the bar area. In the center there is a large open dance floor but its usually crowded with people watching the show so there is not much dancing. Its CASH only do forget the credit cards and bring enough cash for the night. The food vendors do accept credit cards.
Such a fun and authentic concert experience, love it being by the train tracks too! shinyribs was awesome!
$40 to walk in for a band I never heard of. $20 sure. wanted to check the atmosphere. Shady
Chill vibes with great music. Inside gets a little cramped but the outdoor area is so accommodating. Decent food and drink prices but they cut the food off a little early. Definitely a great spot to check out if you’re from out of town and wanting some local culture. BE VERY CAREFUL OF GPS DIRECTIONS TO THIS VENUE! Often you are directed to a street that is not actually a public access road. If you are instructed to go left on a street that looks like a railroad refueling stop and has no street lights DON’T. Just go forward over the tracks very slowly. It will reroute to the appropriate direction.
The Mavericks were wonderful of course. And the Hog Slop String band is on the rise... Very cool
Doing the best live joint in the US for like 20 something years.Just fantastic place the range of the bands or groups ya cant not have fun.
Unique music venue with multiple stages. Biker friendly. Staff were Amazing. Different genres of music playing !!!
Summer Jam 24 featuring Just What I Needed, Styx Illusion, Bob Jovi & Paradise CityGreat show!!
Great place to see live music, many well known names play here. Plenty of parking in a secure gravel lot. Cash only bar, food options. Friendly crowd always, if your standing people usually invite you to sit with them. You can pay online to prepay for a show at a cheaper rate for some shows, but, its pretty much the same at the door after you get charged service fees and such.
Id heard of Knuckleheads of course because they get a lot of great bands, but its quite a ways from my house in Overland Park. So we went to see Samantha Fish and had a fantastic time. Its a great room and you can see from everywhere. The drinks are strong and cheap and the sound was great. Ill definitely go back
Fun place to go. Cash bar only. Limited seating. Great acoustics and amazing staff
If youre ever in KC then you have to see a show at Knucks! There isnt a bad seat in the place. They have multiple stages, both inside and outdoors, that accommodate shows of all sizes. There is a bar near each stage so you dont have to go far for drinks. This isnt the bartenders first rodeo either they know whats up and they get the line moving quickly! They have a kitchen as well, Im not sure how late it is open but they had a food truck at the last show I went to. And unlike many bars they have plenty of stalls in the restroom so there is hardly ever a line!
Simply the best venue for live music, beer and a good time in the Kansas City area. Several stages allow for the perfect setting for acts drawing small casual crowds to huge SRO headliners. They seem to make the beer lines move quickly and others have told me the bar food is good. The crowd is usually a mix of young to older with the concentration varying by the musical act on the stage. Just a must for live music lovers in the area.
Absolutely Adore Knuckleheads. They have an awesome array or genres of music & concerts!!!This place is so much fun. My favorite is the outdoor concerts!! However, Its a party all year round because they have indoor concerts- outdoor bands are for summer mainly.People are Nice! Staff is Great! Affordable prices!! Handicap accessible and parking- just be early so you get a close spot. One of the best places to go and get your groove on.Its a must so give them a try! For Ages 21 y/o to 100 y/o! They do not disappoint. Knuckleheads is a Blast from past oldies to present modern day. *Blues, bluegrass, jazz, rock, pop, alternative and more. Never a dull moment. Love me some knucks 💛💣💥❤️
Went to an event in the Knuckleheads Garage, which as far as I can tell is separate from the saloon and across from it.This is an interesting venue. Its pretty small and there is seating and large tables for most of the floor. Unfortunately, there isnt much elevation so if you are short and/or want a good view come early and get a good seat otherwise you will be dodging other peoples heads all night. This place draws in an interesting group of people. Overall, people were reasonably well-behaved.If you want something to drink, its cash only. Definitely keep that in mind.Overall a good local place trying to do something nice. There were big fans running in the summer but I dont believe it was air conditioned. I have doubts about how warm they can keep it during the winter because it doesnt seem like a well- insulated building. If youre going to be sitting, might want to bring a jacket or whatever as the seasons change to make sure youre comfortable.
May 9 it’s 63 degrees outside. I don’t know what the tempIn the garage was but it was way colder than 63. Felt like a heat wave when we walked outside. Ruined the experience.
Great atmosphere and great staff! They had a really sexy drummer sitting in for a couple songs! Spare Change really should become a thing!
This may be one of the coolest venues Ive been to. I usually go to 10-12 shows a year, bland venues can be forgotten, you won’t forget this place! Indoor and outdoor areas, friendly staff, food and drink offerings (cash only)…very excited to go back for another great sounding show. Ps—not a local.
First time Ive ever been and I love the place I love the atmosphere and you bet Im going to return
This place is a hidden gem. I love how open it is. There is seating on groundlevel or up on this cute balcony, that has restrooms. 2 bars one inside and one outside. I didnt try the food. But man it smelled so good. The bartenders know how to pour a drink. Very friendly and fast. Im so excited to find this place. Will be going more often.
I love everything about this place! Great atmosphere! Every time I come its an awesome time. Besides just a great place for a beer and bite, they have several different concert venue/settings that each have a great vibe of their own. This is one place that always makes me envious of the the ownership. They work very hard to bring a wide variety of great musical acts to KC.
The ONLY Place in Kansas City to watch live music! Great music! great food and drinks! Great place!
Great Venue!! Love going for the Sunday open jam!
I came for the open jam on Sundays, great atmosphere and good times.
Absolutely love this place. They treat the entertainment like royalty and I have never had a better reception being part of a band then I got at this place! The people are wonderful just go!
Went to see Carolyn wonderland!!the band that played first was good but an hour is a little long. When Carolyn came on she had a female guitarist who had a nice voice and a drummer And base player. Carolyn played for over an hour and it was awesome. There was a decent crowd but not a long wait for food and drinks. Fifteen dollars was very reasonable to pay for this event.
This is Kansas Citys premium, live music venue! They have continually grown, adding space for little intimate concerts in the so-called gospel lounge, midsize acts inside, larger draws on the really cool outdoor stage, and a much larger space across the road in the so-called garage, which is kind of like a big airplane hanger that youd expect to find someplace like Austin. They feature local, national, and international artists, from blues to rock to jam bands, always at affordable ticket prices!Great place, great atmosphere, and welcoming, friendly people!
Havent been that pickled in many years was great awsome drinks and great music Im getting to old for oh hell Ill never be to old for this place you should check it out.
Nice environment...get there early to get a seat. Drinks are affordable! Train traffic can be annoying.
Fun entertainment last night by The Crayons. A great place to enjoy live music.
I drove 3 hours to see the Bahamas at Knuckleheads. This review is no reflection of the band as they were absolutely amazing and the sound and setup were fantastic as well. My 3 star is for Knuckleheads inconsistencies. Since I had never been there or am local, its important to know the correct times. The website even said they were closed when I went to get the address, which caused a minute of panic. Tickets stated music started st 7:30. I called the venue and got a recording that said doors would open 1 hour before music starts. I arrived at the venue at 6:15. There was a sign on the door that said doors open at 7. Needless to say, I was extremely frustrated as well as some others that were in line.
It was my first time visiting and driving on to the property was like entering a small city. It was the Phil Collins Experience and my brother The Black Diamond Real Illusionist at the Garage! The entire setup from the Parking on site, to the Fantastic Stage & Sound, nice Seating, and most importantly a Great Staff, made Knuckleheads the Best place for live music, and I highly recommend taking in a show when in KC!
Went to a concert in the garage. It was a lot of fun. Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Cant wait to go again.
What an interesting place! Located right square next to a very active rail line. The musicians and passing locomotives compete to see who can drown the other out. The night we were there, the musicians won. This place screams redneck. Yet it was inviting and enjoyable for us, even though we dont drive a pickup. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for serious fun and something a little, check that, a lot different.
Love this place for live music in kc, especially in the summer for the outdoor concerts.
Always good jams on Sundays at KHs, but remember---> its cash only on Sundays.
Always a great time with strong drinks and awesome atmosphere
One of the coolest music venues Ive ever been to.
First time and we loved it. We are not from the area but traveled in to see a band. The atmosphere was great in the outdoor venue. Get there a little early and grab your spot and enjoy. If we have a band we enjoy we will be back.
The Vincents were superb! We came all the way from NYC!
Great place for live music and a beer or two.
One of my fav KC music venues. An a absolute classic! I’ve probably seen 10+ shows here & my favorite stage is the outdoor. Lots of fun! Would recommend 10/10
It was cool. I recommend checking it out once if youre in the area
Knuckleheads is a prime example of how Kansas City is such a hidden gem in our great country. The venue is located in a historical part of the city and really showcases what music is all about - All walks of life coming together for something in common. Love the decor on the walls and the staff has always been super friendly. Good eats and drinks are priced well. Get on the email list and you will see for yourself the caliber of music groups they bring in. Nothing better than a KC hot and humid summer night and catching a show at Knuckleheads! Keep up the great work Frank and crew.
First visit to Knuckleheads and I will definitely be back. We went to watch the M 80s and they were awesome.
Love the verity of musical performers. Because it is built on from a garage it has a crowded maze of a layout. It is a fire hazard. They love to pack them in with a high cover charge. Parking is in a crowded one way street. Use of GPS is needed for first timers, due to the odd location. Drink and food have fare prices, that is if can get any wait staff. Most people stand at the crowded bar for orders. Top booked performers, not the local musicians, after perform short sets. Bad for the higher cover charge. There are reserved seating for the friends of the owner. For a better venue I suggest BBS BarBQ. It has limited seating but great performers. The cover charge is much less expensive. The food A+ too.
Great place one my favorite venues 😍
It was great. Everyone had a great time. Dancing, singing a long. Loved every song. Musicians where spectacular. The lead singer had an amazing voice. Large rang as well. He sang Billy Holiday songs supremely. He dance was energetic. Great show menship. The band loved what they played. Joy filled their faces. Well mannered older crowd. No discord.
Awesome, as always! Very short stay this time, unfortunately (but just because beyond my control, & was still great). What I consider THE best venue around, with the best staff, owners & patrons anywhere, the BEST of the BEST talent, fair pricing, & always just an all around, no hassle, good folks, great time!! ✌
Love knuckleheads, the best place to hear your favorite tribute bands and originals.
A full house for the Mavericks, great band .Recommend Knuckleheads to everyone. We have been to knuckleheads several times over the last few years and each time we go it’s gets better and better every time. Staff is always looking for a better way to make things run smoother , accommodate customers better and make sure everybody has a good time. The Mavericks were fabulous. We sat outside. It was very comfortable. We waited in line to get in , And once the line started, it went very quickly. I appreciated the staff member that came down the lane and told everybody to have their tickets on their phone ready to go when we got to the gate ,it went smooth.. We shall be back soon .Thanks Knuckleheads for a great time
First time to this establishment & had a great time! Tickets were reasonably priced & Brandon Santini put on a great show! The gospel lounge was a bit cramped, but we also liked that it was a more intimate venue. Definitely will be back!
Best live music venue in the Midwest.
Great Venue, but admission only gets you into 1 of the 3 buildings.Kinda lame!
Great evening at knuckleheads! A memorial Jam for bass player Dave Kelly. The groove Pilots and a host of other bands, and jammers had the honor of participating. Wonderful event, good time had by all!!😎💥
Great venue and terrific beer selection. Very reasonable.
We walked in the door to the saloon to get a drink. The older gentleman at the door rudely told me no back packs. I had a small backpack purse. I was polite and my husband and I turned around and walked out. When we drove by as we were leaving a lady walked out with a purse twice the size of my back pack purse. If he would have said it nicely I would have left it in the car and went back. But no thank you.
Went to see the B52s. It was awesome as expected! Love the venue! Never been to Knuckleheads and I was totally impressed! I wish the dance floor had a bit more space. Cant wait to come back!
Fabulous atmosphere! Great service! Awesome music!
Great venue! Intimate setting, with close seating to the band and a sizable dance floor. Reasonably priced drinks and friendly staff. Plenty of parking fairly close. Just a great experience, all around!
Killer venue for live music. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Kansas City! Top notch sound, great staff, full bar, decent food menu. I dont do meat but my SO said the burnt tips was excellent!
Went to a Mavericks concert here. Was dismayed at the huge line of folks when compared to the size of the venue. Turns out there are lots of spaces tucked away in the different areas and it was fine. There were several food options. The prices at all of them were reasonable. $13-15 for dinner. Pop was $4 each, water $2. There were tables and chairs available outside of the stage area. Plenty of garbage cans. Staff all around. Was surprised that smoking was allowed.Plenty of bathrooms too.
We have been going to Knucks on Sundays for years. The price hikes are yearly now, and now we dont go nearly as often. Still a good atmosphere and we enjoy the different musicians that get up and play!
