We just recently had our wedding reception at the Commonwealth, and to say it was anything less than amazing would be the understatement of the century. If youre looking for a fun but equally unique venue and are on the fence about the Commonwealth, JUST DO IT! We booked the venue sight unseen, as we were planning the wedding from Florida, and it lived up to all of our expectations and more. It was absolutely perfect for our 60 person party, from the rooftop happy hour to the DJ and everything in between. The catering was delicious, and the DJ was perfect!! Rhonda & Shaun were absolutely perfect to work with and so easy to communicate with - we couldnt have done it without them!!!10000000/10 would recommend this as a venue to anyone!
Website advertised happy hour on 6/15. Get there and dude at the door was clueless. He said hed honor one happy hour drink and said we couldnt get in because our sandals didnt have straps in the back (my friend had Tory Burch sandals and I had Chloe sandals) . What? Honestly, Ive never had a problem bringing people here until now. Terrible! We had a good time regardless elsewhere. Too many to compete with on Fremont. Shame on you. Ill never suggest this place to my out of town people again.
They had an awesome dj who did a great set. However, one of the bartenders was so rude. We had bought multiple rounds of drinks and when a friend asked for a cup of water, he refused. That’s crazy. Make it make sense. Imagine someone feeling sick and he wouldn’t even give a cup of water. Otherwise, this place was great.
I’ve never been lied to my face like this before. Kind of mind-blown tbhCame with large group for a Bachelor party, everyone ordered a bunch of drinks and paid cover.Needed to go outside for fresh air (line was long outside), so asked worker at front literally *3 times* if I could come back through the front without waiting in line, he assured me 3 times!! So we exited…After being outside, we weren’t allowed back in… without waiting in line (literally an hour long!). What?? The other people working there said the worker *never told me this*. Wild!! Gaslighting us multiple times. I did not have a sip of alcohol this evening, I was completely sober and recalled our exact conversation... But she acted like I was drunk 🤣. Anyways our whole group had to leaveVery sleazy tactic to trick people into leaving to make room for more people to pay cover. Sleazy, dishonest
Trash would be a compliment to this place. It is literally everything you dread about a bar/nightclub: Overpriced, watered down drinks, rude staff, RUDER guests and a cover that has no business being so high on a dead night.Never going back and Im happy about it.
Commonwealth stands out as an exemplary destination within downtown, earning its place as one of my preferred establishments. One notable aspect of its appeal lies in the diverse array of music genres seamlessly woven into the ambiance, both on the dynamic roof deck and the inviting downstairs area. A testament to the establishments commitment to excellence is personified in the impeccable service provided by Malik. His dedication to ensuring a memorable experience is truly commendable.During a recent visit, my sister was in town celebrating her birthday, an occasion I mentioned to Malik. To our pleasant surprise, he extended a gracious gesture by placing us on the guest list for the esteemed We All Scream, aligning with my sisters expressed desire to attend. Such thoughtful and personalized service undoubtedly contributes to Commonwealths reputation as a venue that goes above and beyond to cater to the preferences and celebrations of its patrons.
Had to wake up to my boyfriend coming home with a busted lip and him saying that HE WAS JUMPED!! BY SECURITY!!! BECAUSE HE WAS TRYING TO DEFEND HIS SISTER CAUSE SHE GOT PUNCHED BY A MALE SECURITY GUARD!! Don’t come here!! This incident has definitely brought a lot of the other comments to light. Definitely will be filing a police report.
Overpriced drinks. I came with a group and we luckily got the half off but they were still very expensive $14 normal and $7 half off for well. As a Florida military local I’ve traveled to Korea, Japan, UAE, Iceland, UK, Mexico, and more. This place tops the price. Florida well drinks are typically $4-6. A friend in the group tried entering with a Polaroid but wasn’t allowed in with that. The excuse was that “no pictures are allowed inside”. It’s unacceptable since everyone carries a smartphone nowadays that can take pictures on the fly. Will not be coming back here again or be recommending people come here.
I went to this speakeasy last time I was in Vegas with friends and it was unforgettable! The way they captured the spirit of an authentic underground speakeasy is incredible. The live music, the unique drinks made for each individual and the whole vibe is perfect. Absolutely a must and 100% worth going to!
A creative and lively location thats inviting, warm and spacious. A definite stop for anyone visiting Fremont street. As soon as you walk in you enter into a cavernous space that is lined with comfortable seating and enough space to nagivate around without bumping into others. The bartenders are knowledgeable and kind and serve as quickly as they can, depending on the crowd size. Really enjoyed the experience and look forward to coming back
Stopped in with the brother-in-law for a drink. He was bar hopping random bars, and I was the driver. Place had nice atmosphere, staff was a little grumpy, the bar wasnt overly sticky, and the prices were reasonable except for the $9 water. Overall, it was mid. We left after one drink upon seeing the tab.
Since moving here to Vegas, I have been searching for something that reminds me of back home (Miami Beach).Musically, the people, the energy; the best! Super grateful for the people I met that first night and cant wait to go back again. They have a beautiful high ceilings main floor room and an outstanding rooftop. Crowded, but not overly crowded.Beautifully done! Thanks for the good vibes. See you soon!
It’s fun but not amazing, they charge you for everything. High entrance fee and 7$ dollar for water. A bar that wants to be a nightclub. It’s fun and okay cause of location, enjoy. Yourself. That’s all.
Poor experience. We where having a drink with our friends, but when some people went outside to smoke, they charged them the ticket to go back inside. Won’t come back again (and don’t recommend anyone to come)
I can’t with the people commenting here.Someone commented “the worst nightclub experience I ever had”. First of all, this is not a nightclub - It’s a BAR. Second, no one dances on the “dance floor”. I’m glad security stopped you 😂 saved you from being on social media.Someone else commented that “she hated this place” because she could hear the music from her hotel room 😂 if your hotel is not properly built, don’t blame this bar for it. This is Las Vegas. You chose the wrong city.Someone claiming they stole their credit card and commented on two different accounts. Bar owner responded to their comments. And I would agree with their response, customers never mentioned the credit card getting overcharged. Takes a few clicks to block the card and most banks will protect you from fraudulent charges. It’s not worth it to get fired or penalized for stealing some kids credit card.Last but not least, the one where his brother had a drink. Your “little brother” is 17. Be glad they let him in!! 😂😂😂Will be visiting this weekend!
I had so much fun here, I always go to the roof especially during Latin nights. Malik is always there, he makes the waiting smooth and easy. My friends and I go there so often. Weve gotten a table before and he redirected us and said if we had any questions or concerns to go to him. He really does above and beyond, best customer service from him. He really just be vibing and smiling.
We had a wonderful experience at the front door. Super welcoming and friendly, and the music was wonderful. Why I’m only rating 2 stars is because the bartenders were shady and super over charged (refer to picture of receipt) we were charged $59 dollars for our first two drinks and $80 for the second two. It was busy and a lot was going on so they got away with it. I’m a very honest person who tips very fairly based on service. Just take caution when ordering drinks and absolutely do not pay cash like we did or they will absolutely take advantage. Pay card. To the people that were awesome thank you for that but those bartenders need to be seriously checked because that’s not okay. Honesty is a policy, period.
Guy bartender over charges drinks . I didn’t complain because my friends were already leaving.
This was one of my staples as a Vegas local!Loved it while I was in college there and definitely the place to be on a Friday or Saturday in Vegas. This place has the best bouncer! They are all really funny specifically Malik 😁
Was invited to a private event at Commonwealth and it didnt disappoint. A couple of bars downstairs and one upstairs. The rooftop is awesome where we were able to drink and have a cigar. The old town atmosphere is awesome and being able to people watch from the rooftop was great. Stopping by here with friends is sure to be a good time. Youll like it I guarantee it!
Never been there but a fraudulent charge showed up on my credit card from this place and they don’t answer the phone.
ON 1/8 AROUND 9PM AT THE DOWNSTAIRS BAR, THE CAUCASIAN PASSING NON-BINARY FEMALE BARTENDER WITH THE SHORT HAIR, FACE PIERCINGS, IS THE WORST BARTENDER IN VEGAS. SHE WAS RUDE TO MY FRIENDS, RACIST, AND THE WORST BARTENDER I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. ABSOLUTE TRASH. BEAUTIFUL BAR BUT I HAVE HAD BAD EXPERIENCES WITH HER LAST YEAR WHEN I VISITED AND THIS TIME AS WELL!!!! HER EMPLOYMENT AT THIS BAR COMBINED WITH HER CONSTANT NASTINESS TOWARDS P.O.C. WILL ENSURE THIS BAR DOES NOT SUCCEED.
I would give this place zero stars if I could and I let my family and so many of my friends know to not come here. I payed for me and my brother to get in and everything was fine till we were leaving. they would not help me at all when I was trying to get my phone and card back:/ on my way out too the security gaurd was so rude and slapped my brothers drink out of his hand which by the way this was my little 17 year old brother who was waiting outside with family. I think the security gaurd got him confused with another man who was slamming and holding onto the door but this was so unacceptable. Everytime I tried talking to a security gaurd or the team lead they kept intrupting me too so it was really fustrating. They literally treat people like animals there. My phone and wallet are still there and based off of so many reviews from this place I wouldnt be surprised if they kept it or handed it off to someone else.
Malik @ the front door is one of the most genuine security commonwealth has, he always keeps his cool, keeps the line moving in a timely manner, handles situations professionally I’ve never seen him get out of character. I know it’ll be a good night when he’s around!!
If I could leave this place a 0 stars i would security is trash and extremely rude they didn’t let us in because they thought we were drunk when no one had even had a drink. The last time I came here i had a really bad experience but I decided to give it another chance but tonight really proved my theory about this place everyone here has no type of customer service trash employees.
WARNING! THIS BAR WILL STEAL YOUR CARD!! If there was a ZERO star I would award it to this establishment. I visited this bar/club and ordered bottle service. At the end of the night I wanted to close my tab, but the bottle girls had left for the night and given my card to another person at the bar. This is completely unacceptable. The response from the staff was we dont have your card and a shrug. As far as I can tell this place will actually STEAL YOUR PAYMENT CARD and try to pass it off as lost or that theyve given back to you.
Have been here a bunch, enjoy the music theyve recently been hosting. Some really great artists. Keep it up! But I sure hope the speakers are fixed. Sad how it ruined Oostils set recently :( will be returning soon.
Good drinks and music; my crew is used to very modern hip hop/pop/trendy music and we were not disappointed. Sort of a millennial/gen x crowd but the small dance floor on the ground level was fun. Beautiful decor if you’re here in the evening.
I got married in Vegas in 2019. My husband and I tried to take our entire wedding party here beforehand. The staff was sooooooo rude and refused to let us in because one person was wearing sandals. The bouncer looked me up and down with a look of disgust when I said we were celebrating our marriage?? He even asked me why I was there. Like, to drink obviously? I still have no idea what he was insinuating, it was bizarre.I will literally never forget it and it happened years ago. It marred one of the most special times of my life. My friend who was wearing the sandals felt terrible because it was such a horrible, unexpected and awkward encounter and apologized all night, even though it was not even remotely her fault! I still can’t understand it and had to see if this place was still open because like I said, I’ll never be able to forget how we were treated that day. Sad to see it is, and they’re still employing people who not nobody wants to be around. We went over to The Griffin instead and had great service and drinks! Vegas as a whole is a town with excellent service, don’t waste your time here, and definitely not if you want to make happy memories with people you love! Be nice to yourself and them — go LITERALLY anywhere else!
This place is pretty nice on the bottom, nice and Casual. As you make your way upstairs its usually shoulder-to-shoulder packed with some type of Hip Hop / R&B crowd with a live DJ playing. You dont often have to wait for a drink too long. Plus its outdoors on the rooftop which makes it a definite plus! If you want a little more intimate experience contact someone at the laundry room, a local speakeasy and check it out! You wont be disappointed
This is a great venue as it has an inside downstairs area and an outside upstairs area both with their own DJs playing most of the time.
Latin night was a great time Saturday fire!
The worst nightclub experience I ever had here this place went downhill really fast the management here sucks security doesnt even want you dancing on the dance floor this is ridiculous and oh wait a minute it gets more ridiculous theres exit signs that you cant exit out ofUpdate...Still amazing music here but no one dances 😆 security is ridiculous
Great vibe and live piano but didn’t like how there was a bunch of added fees. $10 popcorn fee whether you want popcorn or not, and a service fee so right when you walk in you’re already at 15 bucks. drinks aren’t too expensive and are good, our bartender was also nice. ... if you’re gonna charge cover just come out and say it, don’t hide it in a bunch of random fees.
We planned our wedding reception at Commonwealth and the atmosphere was perfect! The rooftop is spacious and has the old Vegas vibe that everyone loves. Their events planner, Gaby, was so sweet and accommodating and responded very quickly to any questions I had. From the bouncers to the bartenders, the staff was so friendly and all our guests raved about the cocktails. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a private event space downtown!
This place sucks honestly . The bartenders and servers are rude af all the time . The only staff that’s actually nice is the security team . It’s always over crowded and you end up shoulder to shoulder it’s someone can’t even dance if you wanted to . Every time I come here I have almost had to fight a few males. The males who come to This establishment are rude and they curse at women one guy even shoulder checked me and I’m a female just so he good get to the bar first. Definitely not worth it go to lucky day or gold spike it’s wayyyyy better. I’m a local too and I gave common wealth a few tries but I will say NEVER AGAIN !
The door charges $10 first off *after 1200am. But once you are in its well worth it. You can have a great time dancing with whomever feels you or just chilling on the roof top area enjoying the Fremont views. This being my first time here, I highly recommend this bar for anyone who likes the variety option on club fever/ barhopping/ and chilling. Go and let me know, what you think? The staff takes patrols yet if your having a great time its no notice. Enjoying it even so many hours after the original post.
I hate this place. We stayed in a hotel down the street and could not sleep for two days (mid-week) because of the loud rave music that was blasting from this place long past 2am. I had industrial earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones and I could still hear and feel the music. I know it’s Vegas but come on.
The bartenders upstairs really need to pay attention to the world around them. I used to manage a restaurant and worked at a famous country club... If you order a drink, the waitress should not take it from the table if your only 1/2 finished... Mostly these days when theyre so expensive. Also if you order a drink at the bar the check should come (to pay for the drink) immediately, and if youre only 6 ft away it should be taken to you, (if youre not still standing right at the bar)... also the credit card shouldnt be confiscating because the waitress is too lazy to walk 5 ft to give it to you (the bill).
Absolutely the rudest entrance greeting I have ever experienced. Back in Las Vegas with friends and excited to take them to the Commonwealth. (Our previous experience was top notch) Never come back!!! The most unfriendly men at the door and inside. So disappointed.
Nice pre party site with cliques circling making plans for the night. Inside was a bit dark with a dj afterglow. Has a rooftop dance club for a $20 cover. Overall its a good place to start if you are from out of state. Plays a little bit of everything not quite a set genre. Drinks are $$$. Just a cool place to start with .
Ty and Alex at the door were super kind and helped us to get in despite not having a reservation. We were treated very unkindly at a previous establishment and therefore came here. They let us in after a small wait and above everything else were super genuine and kind. Genuine being the big word here. Inside was great, the music by the DJ Greggory was awesome. Drinks are definitely a little expensive but nothing out of the norm for me personally coming from a big city. Lily was cordial.
Came here with a group of friends we went to have a smoke off the back side of the bar was told we had to go to the front to come back in. BUT what was not told that we had to pay an entrance fee even tho we were already in the the bar with drinks. The back security failed to inform us of a entry fee and the front security just saw us prior to having a smoke. I do not recommend this place the music is awesome but the customer service is awful. Poor communication
Visited this place on a Thursday night. They had a breakdance competition that lasted maybe an hour. But then the patron stayed around and were break dancing for the next two to three hours. Theres a wide selection of beer which is all reasonably priced and there was a DJ downstairs. The place was fairly busy and overall it was really great night.
Dress code for girls: no leggings, no jumpsuits, no onesies, no sweats, no bodysuits, nothing that “looks like activewear”. Even though it is from forever 21 and NOT purchased in activewear. So pretty much it’s freezing cold so you’re left with wearing a dress or jeans. Kinda ridiculous.
Hang out with the locals in the newly renovated downtown area. This place is very cool, super spacious, nice decor, and drink prices are reasonable. Ive been there a few times and theres been live music or a DJ. Didnt eat there, but it looked like a nice place to eat, saw some appetizers pass the table! yum. The best is the large rooftop terrace upstairs. Great views and spacious with a bar up there too. Inside our out, its a great place for groups or a party and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Recommend this place for sure.
Went here with my husband and a couple friends for my birthday. Drinks were great and our server was phenomenal. I think her name was Devin, she was super personable, VERY quick and on top of service, and knowledgeable about the menu. I will definitely be back!
Great service for breakfast without breaking the wallet.
Bringing your out of town friends who are not ready for the Strip nightlife to downtown is a good idea. Commonwealth is my favorite bar in this area. Its beautiful. The downstairs indoor area looks like a spacious vampire den. They have great happy hour specials and its air conditioned. The rooftop is great for dancing though it can get crowded. The music is from the early 2000s. The night I went it was a young local crowd, and way more women than men. Come early if possible to avoid the massive line outside and dont wear flip flops. Aside from the dress code, just dont wear flip flops downtown because, have you seen the sidewalk? Im strapping on moon boots.
I really liked this place. Nice atmosphere and all. But I was charged for tips and I only left cash. I am confused is there a debit card fee I’m unaware of. I feel like that doesn’t make sense. Or a gratuity charge? I wouldn’t have left cash if I knew that?
Atrocious job by Jojo the bartender. I understand there is no phone use. But I had an emergency because no one could find my son. I asked to leave the room and she said no because people were coming in. So I went to the corner so no one could hear me. I get off of the phone and my wife and other couple I was with said we were thrown out because I used the phone. You have to be kidding me. I can see removing me but for the couple who made reservations 6 months ago and had to leave because of an actual emergency is deplorable. It actually worked out because we went to the Mob Museum speak easy and the drinks and atmosphere was much better. Cheaper also and they served food. Go there instead. And yes, my son was found. I hope Jojo never has kids because she will never check to see how they are.
Careful with the free drink tickets. They give them to you and they say “Free Drink With Admission.” What they don’t tell you is that you must redeem them at the door. If you go back, they will not honor them, even though it doesn’t say anything about that on the tickets. What a scam!
Was planning on going next week for club soda and just saw their most recent promo and less than 1% of people were wearing masks. Not only that but it was packed. To many of you this is good news but I’m not gonna be going back there for a while. And I always use to love dancing to house there.
This place is the bomb! Great location on Freemont street, and the vibe is cool and elegant. The DJ was rocking some jamming hip-hop that definitely made you want to get on your feet, and the crowd is dressed to impress! And the best part is that it doesnt feel overly douche-y or full of tools. Will definitely come back!
We had reservations and showed up on time, looking forward to the experience. Ordered a couple drinks and waited, an hour later the hostess comes out and tells us we weren’t there on time so we had to wait and see if someone canceled. Very rude and not flexible at all, basically turned us away. I guess they didn’t need us to spend our money there! Definitely not a good experience. Would not recommend... came from San Diego and not at all impressed with this Speak Easy, try the one at the gangster museum speakeasy instead!
We came to Fremont Street specifically for this bar. We were greeted at the entrance by a rude, arrogant bouncer who addressed us initially by saying, Hi, sandals. Then he let us know we couldnt get into the bar with the backpack we had with us for the day. We were well-dressed and polite, and were treated rudely from the get-go. Dont waste time trying to go here.
Drinks are priced on the higher side for Fremont Street. But the atmosphere is cool. The staff is iffy.. some are extremely friendly and nice and a couple pretend they dont see you. Gets really crowded upstairs and not much seating, so prepare to be standing.
I love this place. It is the heart of downtown. A two story venue, with two different feelings for each level. I feel like the first level is a little pretentious. The second level however is full of life and great music. The second level happens to be the roof. so fresh air, full bar, and great music...how can you go wrong.
The Bartender Chyna is awesome she answered all my questions with a friendly attitude and super quick. She is super informative on the local hang outs and I cant wait to visit again. Also Commonwealth closes at 2 am not 12 am ! It almost stopped me from visiting so glad I followed the loud music from the DJ . Live DJ all week after 10 pm ! Check it out for yourself !
The vibe was good. The decor was so chic and cool. Decorated our for Halloween. The music was good, then the party from upstairs came down which made the vibe even better but the DJ was a bit arrogant. Drink prices were good and strong!
One of the busier lounges downtown. Usually have some live music or DJ spinning music. Good cocktails but can be pricey. Also a cover charge for guys after a certain time. Upstairs area opens up later and gives more room to the space once people start filling in. Check it out when you’re wandering around on Fremont st
The beer is really nice!Bartenders are kind! The atmosphere is cozy and also cool! For me, It was perfect place for finishing the journey at old strip with my friends ^^Also, interior design was nice!10/10
A little bit pretentious. All of the drinks were very particular and I couldnt get something normal. If thats your thing then youll like this place. We had reservations for the little Laundry Room in back but because the previous people never left we couldnt get in. Maybe put a time limit on groups so that reservations can be honored. My friend really wanted that experience but we never got it.
Great bar! Good drink prices for being in the heart of downtown Las Vegas! Has a great mellow downstairs for people whom want to chill. Then there is the upstairs where the dj rocks the night and patrons are able to dance!
Good music and decent cocktails. The upstairs was crowded but you can easily head down stairs and enjoy more space. I was there to visit The Laundry Room (speakeasy inside the bar), but this place was a nice surprise.
As a Vegas local, I am not happy with their security staff whatsoever. Drinks were decent and fairly priced. Yet the security guards were rude! After reading their yelp reviews from the last 6 months or so it seems many will agree. My friend and I were carded at the door, security (he said his name was Brandon) let my friend in and as I proceeded to walk in he shoves me. Not hard but I felt very disrespected. He said he wasnt done yet and I needed to wait. Yet he handed me back my ID and let my friend in? The manager was involved and asked what I wanted out of it and I said simply an apology. The security guard apologized but than seconds later took it back saying well we can check cameras because I never touched you! Not sure what he thought I was insinuating I guess sexual harassment which wasnt what I said.We proceeded with the night. When we left he was still at the door and called me a b**ch. How rude and unprofessional. How dare you. He said he couldve lost his job for my accusations and he checked cameras and he never grabbed my chest. Which isnt what I said.Brandon shame on you! And shame on management for allowing their staff to disrespect a woman like that. He was about 63 and Im 54. Really?Never again!
Well, let me just start with having made multiple efforts to communicate with staff. Just trying to check it out, they refused to even let us check out the laundry room while laundry room had a communication problem resulting in them missing 48 hours worth of messages.I tried 2 times during the week to come in and admittedly having flip flops on a Wednesday is unacceptable, but I remedied the situation and their best was to allow a mediocre experience. If their handling of my situation is any indication of their service, Id skip it. I waited 10 minutes at the bar with no acknowledgement so I bounced. There are plenty of options nearby that like having customers.
Got turned away due to wearing flip flops. On Fremont...in Vegas...in July. Wife had reservations at The Laundry Room inside and thus we were unable to keep the reservation and we were charged a no show fee. Wouldnt recommend. Go around the corner to The Downtown Cocktail Room. Awesome folks... And they dont care if youre wearing flip flops.
This is among the best searches in Las Vegas, They are offering you with the stage shows including dancing and singing that will pop up your mood with the joy and the food and cocktails are just speechless. The environment is unforgettable tidy and friendly just like home feelings. The service offered by the Commonwealth is exceptionally top notch one cannot deny. Different colorful lightening and romantic ambiance can make your day delightful, doubtlessly, it is among the best places to visit.
On Wednesday (12/22/22) I (female, black) got kicked out of @Commonwealth after getting bucked up on by the DJs friend, (male. mexican) and got kicked out and security was okay with it. (Security was okay with his word over mine, before asking me what actually happened.) I only went to go request a song from the DJ.Why should I get kicked out as opposed to the real problem?
Love the decor, the different styles of music they bring in, the second floor dance area and generally the diverse range of people that come (age, ethnicity, sexuality etc). Makes me feel really comfortable and a great way to meet really cool new people.
Excellent venue! Great atmosphere! DJ Glen was AMAZING!!!
Fun as always at night on the roof! Gets packed and fun! Great atmosphere and great drinks! But upstairs is more fun!
The only time EVER where I have not tipped, On holiday went to put card behind bar for a tab, the bar staff would not accept our travel card and also was extremely rude when giving us our change , we have never had this problem, we visit Vegas every year. (5 years now) we payed for our drinks in cash and left, What a shame, group of 4 willing to spend the rest of this night there. Drinks were delish.
Not a great selection of beers on tap and not a great crowd either. I wouldnt have rated it so low if there werent much better spots to get a drink or to dance. Everything offered here is done much better very close by, ususlly for cheaper too. The staff is very friendly though!
Absolutely top notch Prohibition style bar. Quality drinks at affordable prices. Danny was our server, and his knowledge of drinks and custom pours was unparalleled in the Vegas strip. 100% recommended. Ask for Danny! He will take care of you all night long.
Whenever in Vegas my friends and I usually stick to the strip and New Vegas .... we know & understand that service isnt usually top notch in Vegas, and often times Service Staff members can be rude or behave in condescending manner. This time though it was so out of line that I felt like writing a review. I never even had a chance to walk into this bar and this was our experience with Commonwealth: It was 2:30am this past Saturday night/Sunday morning and we we were about to walk into this bar to meet a friend who was in there. As we approached the door, a man wearing a black security shirt basically gave us the stiff arm saying were closed. Anyone who goes to Vegas knows that bars usually stay open until 3-4am, so I sarcastically asked aloud (as we were walking away) What City is this again?! ...it was clearly a joke and everyone got it , and nothing more need to be said. This clown security guy decides to interject and ask aloud WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?? ... and at this point we were standing away from the entrance and having our own group conversation about where we were going to go next. He was being totally ignored and we werent looking for any type of confrontation. Then... again, he interjects even louder this time and re-asks his same stupid question with a tone like he was ready for a fight. I looked square at him and said Who are you talking to? and he said YOU ... as we all smiled and turned away + proceeded to take our business elsewhere... I told myself I would repay his gestures by letting the public know that this is the type of service and treatment you will get at Commonwealth. Keep in mind we were all dressed very nice (as opposed to the majority of other patrons in the area), and it was clear we were going to be spending a lot of $$$ because the bar wasnt actually closed. Clown security guard you need to keep your mouth shut next time. Nobody was arguing with you or trying to get in, and nobody cared when you asked what the sarcasm was supposed to mean. At that point you can turn around and go back to your miserable tasks of being a security guard at a lowscale bar in Old Vegas
They charge a $20 cover just to go upstairs. I paid hoping I would enjoy it but it honestly wasnt worth it. The bar in general is very overrated. The bartender didnt know how to make an old fashioned. I wouldnt recommend it when there are so many other options
Super chill, exactly what we were looking for. A hip place but not too loud because my bestie and I wanted to catch up over drinks. We loved the ambiance and great music!
Discrimination at its finest. We were not allowed in because of our outfits which was nothing over the top just simply all black, but allowed someone else in with the exact same outfit.
We just booked a celebration party there and had a great time. The staff was more than accommodating and the service was on point. The guests loved the decor. Would not hesitate to book again for the next corporate event. Thanks for everything!
First went here Labor Day wend 2014,and loved the place.Great rooftop area.Things sure have changed in a years time. Were back in town from Cali, and couldnt wait to hit up the Commonwealth. The wife gets in for free, and I pay $5. (Didnt on on LDW)but hey its Vegas.its Freemont, but its Vegas. What they failed to mention is theyre now like the strip and you must have a stamp or wristband to go up to the patio now.So pretty much paid $5 to walk through the bar.Head across the street to VANGUARD,they look out and its free.We avoided the strip for a reason. All change isnt good.
The club looks nice but it’s often packed and the bartenders are not very helpful, I stood by the bar waiting for assistance for a while and was ignored the whole time and just like every evil club they have a gender price discrimination.
12 of us planned on drinking here tonight however one of our group was wearing sandals, so they wouldnt let us in.... Oh well their loss. Therapy across the street is great and doesnt discriminate based on footwear.
Malik had amazing customer service and made sure our group had an amazing night!
Used to be one of my favorite go tos in Vegas but I was astonished to find out that they now charge a cover depending on whether youd like to stay downstairs or have roof top access. Im sorry but your roof top is not worth a $20 cover.
One of mt favorite places in all of Las Vegas! Beautiful bar, laid back vibe. Great selection of alcohol. Rooftop has great view of east Fremont
Fun bar with reasonable drink prices. Gets busy after 10 or 11. $10 cover for guys but there wasnt any BS going on like fights or douche baggery. So it is a fair trade.
Cool place, 2 floors must be 21+ to get in. Rooftop its the best music always.Drinks are a little but expensive and they should do discount for locals
Besides paying $20 bucks to go on the second level it was great at first. Until we sat at an empty bench. At that point a group of 10 of us where told its $45 a person to sit down so we stood. After about an hour of drinking and we bought a lot of drinks we had a table by ther railing that wasnt in the roped off area we where told we had to move because it cost a $100 to stand by that table. We had spent $100 to enter the bar and close to $400 in drinks. To bring it into perspective there wasnt a single person inside there bottle service areas but magically where ever we stood costs extra money. And we had a group of girls and men. Dont wastw your money on rude service and horrible mangment. The bartenders where great though, I wouldnt bash on them.
This place stole my friends card and tried to pass it off as lost or stolen after I clearly watched him hand it to the bottle girl. If you come here put a air tag on your card
This place is awesome they always have good music playing. Different types of electronic on different night and its a 2 floor so u have hip hop downstairs and electronic upstairs... Love going into this place....
Best times to come or Thursday through Saturday the rest of the week happens to be a little more laid-back for the middle class / common wealth great drinks I work here as security the place brings in a great crowd of people to hang out with but we also maintain a zero tolerance for violence and or anything else seen as unfit public Behavior other than that just place is great
One of the few Vegas places that isnt fake bull$h1t. We dropped in a couple of days before New Years to see locals dancing Salsa and everyone having a good time. The coctails were expertly made using fresh ingedients and good quality liquor. I fully recommend this as a refuge from all that schmaltz.
Ive been here twice before and had amazing drinks from friendly (and cute) bartenders. however, today they served a Manhattan to my friend who ordered a brandy old fashioned and a not-dirty gin martini to a friend who ordered a dirty vodka martini. what is going on? very frustrating, since we brought out of towners to this supposedly amazing-at-cocktails mixology lounge. super disappointing.
Music was really good. Geared more towards the older songs which was a very nice change. The balcony has misters and a romantic atmosphere.
The aesthetic of the place is nice . The bartender wasnt to pleasant but overall a good time so I wont let my first experience knock em out ..I hear on weekends upstairs is poppin
Its been around for a few years and ive never been inside until last night. Downstairs is big , wide open space while upstairs is open air terrace. Enjoyed the breeze while listening to Clubsoda.
Fairly cool. Got some decent cocktails. We balked at the hoops to jump though to get to the speak easy. Would be five stars if the rooftop was open.
Undisputed best nightclub downtown. Ive visited all the bars in downtown Las Vegas and they all have good themes and atmospheres but for dancing none come close. Commenwealths prohibition meets Brooklyn New York themed rooftop terrace should definitely make your list of bars to visit in Downtown Las Vegas. Cocktails are reasonably priced and it usually starts getting busy around 11pm and things goes past 2am often. There are a few hidden gems within the bar/lounge itself but youll have to ask around haha. Hope you will enjoy this place as much as I have.
Favorite bar in Vegas. Its got all the character you need. And the rooftop is a great spot to look out on Fremont. Once you go in, you dont want to leave
Unique and fun place. Expensive but what else can you expect for a place in Vegas. I love the interior and employees were very friendly. I hope to see the Laundry Room one day
Not a fan of this place. Had a very high cover. My husband and I went in and the drinks were made poorly. Paying 15 dollars for a drink is one thing. Paying for a poorly made drink is another. Nicer locations in the area
Refused at the door for having a small backpack. Please have that posted so Im not spoken to so rudely next time please. Im a tourist of course I might have a backpack
Music was a bit too loud and drinks were a little pricier than expected. We used to come here frequently and it may have changed owners or perhaps they are trying to draw a new crowd? Its just another bar downtown now, not a lot of character.
Nice interior, upstairs is nice but gets hot. Did dont play the greatest music and the waitresses cant bring water quick and dull enough. Downstairs is nice though.
Cool atmosphere where rustic meets, ummm, chandeliers and comfy seats. Nice selection of beer. Price point, tooooo much for what you get. A place to see for a drink, not to catch a buzz.
Really cool vibe and isnt too small of a place where people can get bunched up easily. Has a cool upstairs access as well that has a cool vibe. Would definitely come back?
Bartender was not the friendliest and barely acknowledged my girlfriend and I. The beer was a regional beer from California, yet costs an extra $4 more than in Chicago or Milwaukee. I would say go somewhere else on Freemont, save yourself the trip.
We were here VERY briefly but it was super cool, the music was tight, and the popcorn was bomb! Juss wish we didnt have to wait so long outside but it was cool tho
Bouncer at the front door was extremely rude. Having a wristband to get into the place I decided to head to Walgreens to grab some smokes. When I returned I dipped under the retractable barrier to show my wristband to him only to see he was charging towards me. Next thing I knew I was flat on my back half in the street and he was shouting Not in my house. It was extremely embarrassing and I didnt feel I deserved that kind of treatment. I wont be back.
Wish this had a ZERO rating. This place sucks the staff are literally half wiys with zero people skills, crowd is always low class reflected by the people they employ, do yourself a favor and spend your money on a street bum rather than the bums that are here!!!!
Ive been there twice and both times the staff was rude and inattentive. Interior is decent and vibe okay, but it cant make up for the poor management and guest services.
Great bar, good staff (especially Vincent, if he still works there), and good beer. At happy hour, the prices are pretty good. One of the best bars downtown.
Mixed crowd, great music for dancing. Not enough places to sit and chill, overpriced drinks. An 8oz. bottle of water was $6.
One of the best bars in town. One of the few that do happy hour Wednesday through Friday. Fridays feature live music by Stevenson Brookes. Highly recommended!
For a Friday night I expected more ladies were free that was great...drinks pricey but toxic (yum)... Music was a mixed variety but could play more up to date
Loved the place. The upstairs balcony is a special feature and its fun to watch the crowds below. The place has a New Orleans feel..check it out.
I wish I could give this place a ZERO. this place is ridiculously overpriced and the staff is disrespectful and rude. Im from Chicago and I know bouncers and staff can be douchey, but this place must pride themselves on being extra douchey. There are too many great places in Vegas to go to for this place to have any customers.
I am sorry but this place is so loud I cannot hear the wait staff or people I am talking to cause the bass is too much. If they could just lower the volume and bass this would be a great place!
Stopped here for Thursday cocktails. Server was awesome and she will now forever use the phrase A round of Stellas for the fellas... Im mostly on here right now in order to stake claim to the phrase for copy right reasons.
When they change the cover from 10-15 in front of your face. Just say I’m too old and send me to the El Cortez. Great if you’re into being cool.
Been here several times and really love their food. Great service and a nice place to eat.
The DJ in the main room on Thursdays is awesome. We really enjoyed the music. They have a rooftop bar with a DJ as well.
Great place to hang out on a rooftop. Doesnt get too crowded but before 11 is better to beat the line and crowds. Service is good too
Yo... GREAT spot. Went for Holy House No.9 w/Sinden... Soooo dope. Good peeps, good vibes, good drinks plus knowledgeable bartenders. Love it love it love it.
This place gets crackin I went with my husband, cousin, and her boyfriend and we had a great time! Definitely a chill spot to get some drinks and dance
Decent place to chill. Needs more seating upstairs. Downstairs has too much seating lol need to find a happy median.
Play better music on Latin night that 2016 stuff does not hit anymore
Great during non-peak times. A little crazy during peak times. Good beer selection, ambiance and the roof top lounge is awesome when the weather is perfect.
Pretty cool rooftop patio, can be very crowded as you would think. Love it here and have been plenty of times :)
Very casul. Went during Happy hour. Wasnt overly busy. Bartenders were friendly. Just a nice place to get a quick beer
Got super drunk here and wandered around completely lost for 4 hours in Las Vegas. It was awful at the time but I will remember it fondly for the rest of my life.If you go here order the A.M.F from the upstairs bar... I have no clue what it is but it fuuuuuuuuuuuuucked me up.
Ambience spoiled by music so loud that it was impossible to carry on conversation even with the bar staff. Really disappointed.
Its pretty good and great music and tonight is trivia night they let you do trivia night or drink and enjoy yourself and do trivia night
Awesome staff, killer interior design, kickass rooftop bar/lounge and great cocktails. A must-go for anyone staying in or visiting Downtown Las Vegas!
Cool venue, was just a little too crowded. Decently priced drinks and fun music on the upstairs terrace were highlights.
Took 20 minutes to get our drinks, than we decided to leave since we still didn’t have drinks, security chases us down and tried to make us pay for our tab when we never got our drinks, took another 20 mins for them to let us go forcing us to miss our Uber. Awful.
A cool place to go downtown, upstairs and downstairs both have different atmospheres. 4 stars because I dont think guys should have to pay to go upstairs
Beautiful venue. Great spot for the small weekly raves. Very nice and social atmosphere.
Venue is crowded and sound is terrible. Having to strain to hear electronic performers is ridiculous, especially in a space thats only a couple hundred square feet.
Great place with outside seating on the roof. Gets packed later at night but total worth it if you can find a spot on the roof top bar.
Kevin the bartender was not a good host. He would not give us the balls and pool sticks to play pool even though there was no one on the pool table. #blacklivesmatter
Really nice place the customer service is really good here the security guards are friendly the evironment here at this bar and restaurant is welcoming this would be a place that I would definitely come back to
You must go and see Stevenson Brooks on Fri night 7-10pm. Wow, best solo show in Vegas!!!
I forgot I had a plastic flask in my purse the security guard instead of giving me the option to empty it out basically stole that from me and refused to give it back. She was also super rude.
One of the more upscale bars downtown. From the laundry room to the dance floor upstairs, it certainly caters too many audiences.
Bartenders are rude. Went in there with a friend in the afternoon. Sat at the bar. Bartenders were on their phones after my beer was empty. Seemed they care more about their phone then their customers
Just down right a cool place to vibe out. Great beer good music beautiful people what more could you ask for.
It was a beautiful experience, and the rooftop bar was off the chain!
Love this venue. Great djs and lotsa fun!
Great place for a cocktail late at night the vibe is nice and happy also the staff always serves with a smile definitely will go again no questions about it!!!
25$ to get into a club and get the worst cocktail I’ve had in my life. Vibe is trash and the bartenders are incompetent
Small as **** , weak crowd too. If u buy a table upstairs its going to be a tiny little patio table, and upstairs is the size of a 1 bedroom apt
$30 for a vanilla vodka and cranberry?? Prices are getting outta hand.
Pretty nice place. Good music and good drinks. The atmosphere is fun
Too loud
Very dissapointed... there was a large african girl at the door ...she was part of the staff ... she lied to me flat out and said its illegal to drink on the street ... and made me throw in trash 30 bux worth of drinks before I walked out... this place is a scam beware. ..
Always something dope going on at the Commonwealth. Whether youre downstairs in the bar and lounge area, or upstairs in the rooftop party deck, its a great place to party!
No flip flops allowed? It was 107 today! You let some dudes in with sweatpants and nikes..
Great drinks here. Modern day speakeasy also made for a super memorable experience. Would recommend.
One of my favorite places for music and the two tier setup is nice to go outside or sit and the bar.
Its gets pretty lit here. Nice rooftop. Great place to party and dance.
Thank you for talking a man sides and kicking out the girls when it’s one man harassing 3 women. Very apparent on where you stand on issues protecting women.
Nice spot to get your party on in the heart of downtown las Vegas Fremont . They play great music
Awesome decor, friendly staff, and yummy drinks. This place is a refreshing break from the seedey-ness of the strip.
Very chill spot, awesome vibe and great playlists. Grab a drink and head upstairs to the deck bar and enjoy!
Terrible service. We were ignored by the bartender, and the kicked out for trying to get his attention. I guess we didnt have hipster hats. Stay on the strip, this place sucks.
Upstairs has heat DJs and dancing till closing time. Friendly bartenders and always a fun, attentive crowd.
Great place to hang with friends and drink. Pretty good music when the right DJ is spinning.
Awesome spot on Fremont. Good drink specials and a cool rooftop area when it gets too packed downstairs
Great atmosphere, great music. Definitely somewhere Im coming back to when I come back to Vegas.
Its a cool venue with great music but the staff could be friendlier.
Little more.in the pricey side. But would say its probably in the top 3 bars downtown thats always busy and everyone having fun
Great happy hour deals, and a really cool vibe. I loved the rooftop bar area.
Good drinks, but I will never order a beer there again! $10 for a draft! Nuff said
Good place friendly, drinks not to expensive, good music!, but close early than other party
Fun bar with good craft cocktails. We came here for the other bar, and that was a fantastic experience.
Live piano music. Great unique drinks. Perfect set the mood bar/lounge.
First time had a great time great music & drinks were pretty good too..
