Barrys The Nebraska Bar

I like the place, it has an open terrace, an indoor area with air conditioning, several bars, and another part with DJ music. Its cool! But I think it could be better!!! But everyone has their own opinion!

This place is amazing. I had the hog heaven frings. This was awesome. The choice of beers was good too. Limited menu, but they do the things on the menu right.

The employees were very kind and checked on our table often. The food was quick and delicious. Would definitely come back to Barry’s!

We had an impromptu work function move into Barrys late on a Wednesday, and it was a blast. The bartender took great care of us and musical bingo definitely kept us entertained!

Food is excellent, they just revamped their menu and it shows. Staff is extremely friendly and accomadating. Playing the husker game, GBR!!

Great late night spot to meetup and chill with friends. Theyve got a rooftop bar upstairs with corn hole boards and a bunch of seats and tables. There are lots of TVs to watch the NBA and NHL Conference Finals.

Amazing food! Only thing I really had a problem with was the salad. Great salad but on their menu you can order a SIDE salad for $3.99 but was told AFTER getting the salad they don’t have side salads and charged $13! That’s nice to know. Service was kinda slow for only 1 other table besides ours.

Nice roof top area. The lady down stairs at the bar was very nice. The bartender upstairs wasnt very friendly. Nice spot to grab some drinks.

Should have known not to stay when NO ONE was eating there at 6 pm on a summer Friday in The Haymarket. Food was not seasoned well and dry. The Philly cheesesteak was oversalted. Service was playing on their phones with their feet up on the bar. Do not recommend.

The rooftop bar is honestly a vibe and really the key selling point for this place. Super lovely in the evening. I was a little let down by the downstairs dance floor though. There was no real flow or consistent energy from the music being played and ultimately just could have been a better vibe - it was packed just not many people dancing! Also kind of wild that there was a cover

Good food. Id like to go back and try oyher stuff. Mac and cheese and onions were stellar.

Took an hour to get our food when we were two tables seated. Food wasn’t that great. Nothing special there at all. Our waitress was nice though.

One of the workers/bartenders at Barrys pushed my friend down to the ground. We were sitting in a stair way and she was really rude to us. We started to move away from the stairwell to not cause any problems because she said that we should go sit at a table and then she proceeded to use her shoulder to push my friend down. After she pushed my friend to the ground, she didn’t even check on her to make sure she’s okay. It was rude and you need to make sure your employees don’t use physical violence on paying customers. I understand how annoying it is if we were in the way and she wanted us to move, but your employee being physical with her was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Please make sure that doesn’t happen again.

Extremely disappointed after last night, bartender was extremely unprofessional and horrible. Looked at me multiple times, knew I was there waiting, served EVERYONE around me through 2 rounds of people, about 10 people. Which is fine since it was busy, then it was our groups turn to order and she again looked at me, no acknowledgement whatsoever to say Ill get you in a second or anything, and then completely ignores me to serve another group of 10 of her friends that came up to the bad 5 minutes AFTER I was standing there. I/we stood there 20 minutes waiting, no hi, no hold on, no Ill get you next, nothing, this is NOT how business is done and is shameful. So basically if you dont personally know the bartender I suppose you dont get served, what a disgrace. This is a poorly run bar with horrible customer service and WAS one of my fav bars until now I dont even think I want to return again and will no longer be recommending it and sending business their way, after blatantly being ignored. Good job losing a loyal customer.

I’ve been in the past and had a great time. A perfect spot for a sunny Saturday afternoon. However, today I tried to go again. The opening time posted on the door said 11am. The opening time on Google said 11:30am. I tried to go after 11:30 and the staff was inside sitting at the bar but said “we’re not open yet”—this reflects poor management in my opinion. We went elsewhere.

Waitresses were nice, however security made false accusations of us hiding bottles even after patting us down, severely ruined the vibe with their falsely placed confidence.

Waitress sat at the bar eating dinner with her back to us. I understand people need to eat, but sit so you can accommodate your tables. Co worker had to go ask her for a beer. Chicken wings were on the edge of uncooked.

I love Barrys happy hour specials. They are a great place to what NHL since they are one of the few bars that gets the NHL sports package. A few times, they even turned the sound on for me! I like their club night too and the have a beautiful rooftop!

Good place to have some drinks with friends and meet others.Great service by staff.However its alarming to see a light fixture in the bathroom pouring water into the sink below.

Barrys has the potential to be a good Bar. But when you look at a crowd of 20-30 year Olds, we dont want to hear music from the 80s and 90s with all the music being produced today. Songs produced literally over 30 years ago are being played every weekend. The DJs are absolutely HORRID!!!Weekend after weekend. We dont want to hear 80s or 90s. We dont want to hear Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. We want to hear whats relevant. If you cant find djs that play relevant music than just play the radio. Until than I am just done with Barrys. Absolutely sick and tired of hearing irrelevant music. Take a look around, nobody is dancing. Get better DJs or sell this bar off to someone else that understands the importance of good djs.

Good food and nice place, but they need to make the eating part a bit more user friendly e.g. things that are easy to handle in the dark, writing on the piece of paper in the dark and making it visible to the server that your need something, like a refill, pens that work more often, etc.). We had to try four pens before finding one that worked for the bill. The light under the table is an interesting idea, but thats not useful for food on the table or writing on the table. But overall, good for the movies, comfort, and food that they serve.

Barrys is well suited for its location. Just outside of the University. Its a nice place for me to be to hang out. The night that I was there with a younger friend of mine, not really my scene. It was after a Huskers game. Way too many people there. If I was back in college it would be perfect.

Went in on a Friday night prior to a Husker game. Expected it to be busier than it was but not anywhere near what I would consider a busy night. Grabbed my first drink from the bar very quick, sat at a table with two others. Finished the drink and sat there for close to half an hour while the waitress talked to her friends, security, bartenders, everybody except our table. Ended up going back to the side bar and got a drink right away from a very nice bartender but misquoted me the price on a drink so ended up paying $7 more for a drink that I was told would be $4. Went back to the table, finished, began waiting again to no avail. Went to the front bar as the side had closed by then. Bartender took my order quickly enough, got the stuff to make it, held it while talking to security, friends sitting at the bar, other bartenders, doing nothing with the bottles she held. Finally makes it, picks it up to bring over to me, turns around after walking half the bar to me to return to the conversation. I get my drink after they finish.A few weeks prior I had called in to inquire about what requirements had to be met to have one of the booth in the club area they have out back. Guy talked to on the phone was nice, took down my name and number to have their event manager call me back. Never happened.Im a big fan of the rooftop bar and have been looking forward to it opening up since I heard it was being built. Now I dont know if Ill go back.

Great service and atmosphere.

My husband and I entered Barry’s at 5:30 pm today. Our order ticket (which we had to give him a credit card up front for) was posted at 5:47. We finally asked our waiter about our meal at 6:20. He brought it to us at 6:30 with a verbal apology. We asked him to wipe the table. He returned with a wadded up wet napkin to wipe off the table. At that point we asked for napkins and silverware. The sweet potato fries were good and hot. The chicken fingers were warm at best. There were not a lot of people there. Most of the staff was standing behind the bar. Our waiter was drinking something behind the bar. Very disappointing. If I could have given less than one star, I would have.

The rooftops the best however bad experience last time had no cash and for some strange reason they think they are nightclub in Manhattan and they have the sponsor dude demanding $3 to go upstairs Im like last time we just went upstairs. Well I had no cash on me just credit card and they wanted me to use ATM which would cost me another $5 I thought it was a rip-off I asked how about the bar just charged me $3 he said no they need to change that policy about the upstairs roof or change the way you can pay! Bad business

Good for cheap beer and game day atmosphere. Not a sophisticated hot spot, or somewhere you’ll find fancy craft beer. It is difficult to get served at the upstairs bar when busy. But a fun night out.

Smells like piss and underage vomit most weekend nights. Not sure how ppl can order food from such a disgusting establishment. Crowd here consists mostly of Frat Stars and Sorority Queens. Music is awful and too loud up top. If you are looking for a nice, classy rooftop bar, look elsewhere .

The bartenders are friendly. The roof top is awesome!! The club is roomy and nicely set up. One of my top spots for down town.

Not a great experience, but it could be worse. The people that go here aren’t people I’d want my worst enemy to socialize with. Obviously not everyone but the atmosphere and kind of people it attracts does not equal an enjoyable night, beautiful rooftop however.

Great place to go and grab a drink. The dance floor is almost always full and without a doubt always a good time. I mean there are at least four separate bars within Barrys. Highly recommended.

Best place for a pregame beer on Husker gamedays. The rooftop gets crowded early, so snag a seat. Otherwise, plenty of TVs downstairs. Really good bloody marys and fair ever process. The marching band performs here before every game. For visiting fans, its a must.

I cant vote any lower. Game day. The bouncer said we are closing at one. I asked why. He said because we want too. Bad business. He said we dont care about u. We have more money coming from the university kids under 21. Wow. Good business.

I like this place because it has a scenic view of downtown Lincoln from its roof. The roof bar is a cool feature, plus Im a Nebraska Alum so I gotta give props to Barrys Husker Brand. There has been friction between the owners and the Nebraska Liquor Commission, but Lincoln is a college town and this friction is not entirely unique. Personally, when out at Barrys I have not seen any one person who has appeared intoxicated to the extreme.

The bar was typical sports bar, the bar tender was great , I didnt get her name ( I asked her if her name was Barry, she said No - but she didnt give her name) but she was very knowledgeable about the area, and was very helpful in directing us a great ice cream store. P.S. she said her favorite flavor was cinnamon

Its Barrys - typical college bar with a rooftop deck + 10 below (club) in the back. Lots of bars to get served quickly, and now they serve BBQ on the main floor. Fun place to hang out.

Buyer beware!!!! Was here on a thursday night(seemingly the most happening place on Thurs nights). Atmosphere was good. They got a dance floor, bar, and roofbar. BUT. I had a double shot drink was overcharged(18 for 2 drinks(doubles but a single is 3). for me was still cheap but worse was watered down liquor. My associate also noticed. went to a different location different drink, same thing. I live in vegas, I know my alcohol. They probably figure the collage kids here dont know. Just get bottled beer. which I found to be the best option. Good luck.

It is a bar. The space itself is variable and there are options for what kind of seating you want. I only go if its not a weekend evening.Big college bar.

I was clearly sober and the bouncer wouldn’t let me in to find a friend while my phone was dead, extremely unpleasant experience and their security was extremely rude. I was left outside in the cold, would not recommend as their security team is extremely power hungry.

The Rooftop is great. Never had a bad time. Dress to impress on the weekends. Great views of downtown Lincoln. Really fun to see the Sea of Red from on game days.

Worst service I have ever gotten at a bar. I have gone here a few times and gotten terrible service every time. At first I gave them a little credit but after a few trips there I always have the same experience. The bartenders/waitresses purposely pick and choose who they want to serve. My most recent trip there is a perfect example. A few friends and I planned on going here to watch the NFL draft. One of my friends got there first, there was only three other customers in the bar, two bartenders and two waitresses. He sat for ten minutes without anyone coming up to him. I show up and sit at the table and we wait for five more minutes without being addressed. Finally we go to the bar, the bartender pays no attention to us as I sit there holding out my money waiting.So eventually I have to try very hard to get his attention. Once we get our drinks we sit down and another friend shows up. Again no one comes up to us. Here is the part that angered me beyond belief and totally offended all of us. A group of three guys show up, wearing their button up shirts and spiked hair. One of the bimbo waitresses immediately walks up to them and takes their order. This was unbelievably offensive especially at a place in the customer service industry and sadly not the only time I have gotten this treatment at Barrys. This place is pathetic and I will never return. I will definitely do my best to let everyone I know what kind of a joke this place is.

Honestly a pretty cool place, great selection of drinks, wonderful place on a sunny day for a drink. Only downside was the bartender being visibly upset I ordered a beer instead of a drink she didnt just have to open the tab on.

Cool place but a little over rated. It looks cooler from the outside...geared towards college students. I havent had the chance to check out the deck so Ill be back for that on a nice night and for their decently priced drinks.

We went on the rooftop bar for a birthday party and it was lots of fun. They had a few TVs and a beanbag game, but the had very limited kids drinks. This place is also a bar. It does not have a lot of food

What a great place to be on a Wednesday night! They have Bingo every week and it is just a damn good time. The Bingo announcer is also extremely attractive and basically a comedian. Highly recommend!

I was kicked out by the security guards for being too intoxicated. I was just dancing and having a fun time with me friends, buzzed but not drunk, and the security kicked me out. This is a bar with a dance floor in the back, miss a few steps and youre booted though.

Barrys ejects intoxicated patrons without ensuring they have a safe way to get home.We visited on New Years Eve and were getting ready to leave after a friend got sick when we were confronted by uniformed police officers. We were told we had to leave immediately and to do so out of a specific door in the back. This wasnt an issue since we were already leaving, but the officers followed us outside and began to threaten us.The officers let our friend know that they would not be taking any action against her and that she wont be charged, as if she had done something illegal by throwing up in a restroom. They went on to tell her that if she did try to come back they would take her to jail. The officers were obviously trying to intimidate our friend, which was completely unnecessary and served only to escalate the situation. That combined with the fact that they ejected an intoxicated person without ensuring that they could leave safely is dangerous and shows that Barrys would rather open themselves up to liability than take care of their customers.

I left walking in the rain without my jacket, because someone stole it off of the cheap rack they have placed in a dark corner near the busy and loud dance floor. Poor design and poor execution from a business. I would expect more from a bar in the Haymarket, especially one that charges well for average drinks. Im not surprised that this same bar has recently been under scrutiny for multiple liquor license violations. Also, they have VIOLATED HEALTH CODE by having the SEWAGE DRAINS BACKUP onto the dance floor and in both the Mens and Womens bathrooms. Disgusting, I DO NOT RECOMMEND. This place has lowered the bar (pun intended) among every food/drink establishment in Lincoln. They deserve to be shut down.

Great local bar. Only negative was someone needs to learn how to use a mop. The floor was so sticky it almost pulled my shoe off & that was early in the day.

Worst bouncers in Lincoln. They think they work for the FBI or LPD. Food is trash as well.

Good drinks, kind of pricey for the size of the drinks in comparison to other bars. Ive also experienced long wait times for the bartenders to take my food order which especially made the food price not worth it at all regardless of the specials of the day!

Wish i could give 0 stars. Entire experience was horrible. Walk up and get told its a 5 dollar cover because of the nebraska spring game. Pay the cover and walk in. Find an open table which of course is sticky and has a pile of salt in the middle. Floor has holes, we were largely ignored other than someone asking for a donation. After about 5 min we are approached by a server with no menus on table, drink or otherwise. No menus offered. One of us asked for mt dew and the server says flatly we dont have mt dew no offer of what they actually did have. We threw away 30 dollars on cover charges to have 3 sodas and 1 alcoholic drink before leaving immediately. Best advice is to avoid like the plague.

Ive been here a couple of times visiting old friends and going to football games.This is always a fun little spot. The later it gets the louder the music gets so be ready for that and enjoy.

Great place to drink after the football games... once everything calms down after the games the places tends to be very dirty and floors are kinda nasty.Typical college bar but a good place to drink a beer or two.

Fun place to eat, lots of sports on TVs and plenty of beer choices. Game day is packed, get there earlier and try the roof bar and seating above the street. Good times.

The food took forever and they don’t have real cups nor lids and loud music and two people working not the correct orders and only one menu

Bad service, food wasnt good either, their signature sauce was so overpowering you couldnt taste the beef. No wonder there wasnt a line outside on game day.

The fact that this place still has their liquor license and is allowed to do business in Lincoln is insane. The Haymarket and Railyard deserve better than a place that continues to put patrons at risk.

The new Barry’s is interesting. I had 3 beers and was just sparking up a conversation with the bartender and he told me that I needed to drink a water before he would serve me again.

Has taken over 1 and half hours for food absolutely ridiculous good food but not worth the wait 1 cook but 5 bar tenders. It was barry slow.

Barrys is an unprofessional business managed by young bigots. They are notorious for letting underage persons into the bar and serving them. They are not informed on how to properly check IDs at the door due to the college employment they employ.

Just plain awesome what else can I say... Dance floor was full... Drinks was made right for the cost... Recommended for the end of your night.

As a cook there i love the high standards we have to follow. It means good food awesome atmosphere and one heck of a good time.

If it’s a party bar night, this place is okay, nothing special. During the day though, service is dismal and food is basic. Once waited 45 minutes for service with on four other people in the whole bar.

GameDay burger was good. Service was great. Beer was cold. Winning!

Game day place for Husker Football. Crowded. Can be a pain if you dont like dealing with crowds. May take a bit of work to get a beer on game day which is to be expected given the amount of people.

Service was o.k. As well as the food (chicken cordon blue) fries were the best!Scenery is unmatched downtown.

This bar has something fun just about every night of the week. Its loud and wild so if youre looking for that, then Barrys is the place for you.
