Studio One RI Dance Complex

This review is long overdue, but better late than never. My husband, Conor, and I wanted to take a few dance lessons prior to our wedding so we werent stepping on each others toes during our first dance. John & Nika were incredible teachers. Neither of us had any dance experience - they taught us the basics (bait & hook pictured, haha) and helped us choreograph a dance to our song. I am so grateful for their expertise! We had a great time working with them and our first dance was a success. I highly recommend Studio One RI!

I learned to dance at Studio One. I met my dance instructor at Studio One. I was able to raise money through the Dancing with the Doctors charity through Studio One. And I have made great friends through Studio One. It is truly a great dance Studio with great instructors and great people. Thank you John and Dee Soares.

First of all, we would like to say that we never expected how positive of an impact ballroom dancing would be for our daughter. She has been dancing at Studio One for almost 3yrs. Started with junior ballroom classes and now dancing country ballroom competitively. Studio One is always a welcoming environment for her. She is challenged and encouraged at every lesson in a professional atmosphere. John, Dee, and Jiri have always gone above and beyond to support her in being the best dancer she can be. If you are looking for an activity for your child, we highly recommended Studio One for ballroom dancing.

Studio one is an excellent studio where anyone can improve their dancing. Studio One is a gem of an independent dance studio. The owners, John and Dee, offer professional training in both ballroom and country-western style dancing to both beginners and advanced students in a no-pressure, welcoming atmosphere. Ive been at many dance Studios, but this one has the nicest friendliest dance instructors, the most relaxing atmosphere and the most beautiful ballroom with cathedral ceilings and huge windows. People are coming to the studio from all walks of life to learn how to dance to create a wonderful friendly dance community. Its welcoming to all who enter for learning how to dance or to attend social dance parties.I love this studio and every week look forward to enjoying dance lessons and social dancing.

We had an amazing experience with Studio One. My husband and I purchased the wedding dance lessons. We went 4 times in a group setting and one private dance. They focus on each couple for a perfect amount of time even within the group. Its nice to compare what youre doing with others. A few times we liked what another couple was doing and asked to be taught that move as well. They pay attention to detail and even hand placement. You can go at your own speed. We actually had a couple weeks between each lesson and as long as you practice at home youll be fine. We learned a few extra moves at the private lesson. Including how to start and end the dance elegantly. I was very impressed. We had the most beautiful dance and received so many compliments. I felt comfortable with our first dance like you should. Studio One is a wonderful place to dance. All of the instructors and other dancers are wonderful people. They have Ballroom, West Coast Swing, Latin, and Country. Their Friday night dance parties feature one ballroom for WCS and one for a ballroom mix. I love going every Friday night!!

We have been dancing and taking lessons at Studio One for 8 years. They have strong team of instructors, John, Dee, Jiri, Giancarlo and Joanne. They offer all styles of Ballroom and Country dancing, they have group lessons for Beginner, Intermediate and Advance levels along with Private lessons.We have a lot of fun and made many friends there, it is a very friendly and nice place to be.

Studio One is a welcoming environment to people of all backgrounds and dance skill levels. The teachers always make learning technique fun. Social dances are a great way to meet people and blow off steam from the work week. The studio also provides lots of opportunities for performances.

The folks at Studio One did an awesome job preparing us for our first dance. We took the Wedding Crash Course and had so much fun preparing for our dance. It was a great experience and it was absolutely worth it. The instructors are very patient and personable. You start with group lessons but they take the time and help you individually during those lessons. We learned so much and were able to really make our dance work for us and the vision we had in mind. I felt an enormous sense of relief walking in for our first dance knowing that we were married and it was time to really relax and enjoy the party! Once we made it to the dance floor, we were surrounded by the love and energy of our guests and we could tell that they were enjoying our performance. Thanks to Studio One (and lots of practice) we felt confident dancing in front of 180+ people.

Studio 1 is one of my favorite places to dance.I nenjoy the pre ballroom dance lessons.The instructors are great and easy to learn from.I appreciated all the guideline precautions they took during the height of the pandemic to ensure that we had a safe place to dance.Im looking forward to continuing dancing there and to their continued success.

John and Dee dance for the right reasons and their love of dance is inspiring. I really enjoy the classes as everyone is very friendly. I also take private lessons. The prices are reasonable and the instructors are great. I highly recommend them.

I took my Fiancé here for dance lessons on her Birthday. I am a complete novice/beginner and am terrible at dancing, and was tired of stepping on my Fiancés toes whenever we would dance at a social event like someones wedding. The kind gentleman who took care of us was amazing. Very patient, great communication, very friendly, made us feel welcome, and had a very uplifting, positive, encouraging , and funny personality. The dance studio itself was clean, vibrant, and spacious. Would highly recommend !

The main ballroom is a wonderful venue to dance. There is also a west coast swing ballroom and at dance parties you can switch back and forth between the main ballroom and swing room. Great studio for experienced dancers and also great place for beginners to learn

My daughter and I went to studio one after an awful experience at Arthur Murrays.our instructor John choreographed a dance for my daughter and I for her wedding John made it so much fun and showed so much patience with us that we looked forward to it every week. We were a little unsure of how it was going to turn out because neither of us were ballroom dancers but our thought was as long as we had fun doing it the dance would take care of itself ! I cant say how happy we were with our dance it really made for a great memory and if I could steal s phrase from Johns wife who was also extremely nice its all about building memories !!!!

I have been to Studio One parties for years. John and Dee are the nicest people, their lessons are fun, and they make everyone feel welcome. I like all the teachers there for ballroom and country dances.

John is such an amazing instructor! Were able to learn so easily and at the same time were having so much fun. He makes us laugh the whole class! One of my all time favorite experiences!

We decided to learn how to dance in our 50s! Studio One was the right choice. John makes class fun and we are staying to learn more than one style 😁

The studio and everyone there is just phenomenal! Im there once a week every week and I always look forward to coming back again. Any class you take will be an opportunity like no other!

I dance west coast swing here each week. The dj is amazing and will play anything you request each night!!
