My first time here. I will be back to try new menu items. Today was the Elvis blue cheese wings. Gotta good kick to it. The Buffalo wing sauce is infused with crumbled blue cheese. Not a blue cheese fan, but had to try it. It was good. The blue cheese wasnt over powering and it made a nice combination. The atmosphere was lively and a live band was setting up. Bar was clean, cool decor. Staff was awesome and the people were welcoming.
Great spot to adult in, fun, cool & unpretentious. The food is amazingly delicious and the bartender Vera knows how to pour a beverage 🤤 I stopped here leaving LAX because I saw my name (only spelled wrong🤭) on the front entrance. Great place to wait for picking up someone from the airport. DJ spinning great tunes 🎶 when I went back on Christmas Eve 🎄👼🏽🎁 Security is on point. Great vibes. Cant go wrong hanging out here.
Came here for Taco Tuesday with a friend and ordered a fish taco and Asda taco with garlic fries and a lime margarita. Everything was so good and fresh that makes me want to come back again when they play music and try their wings. Highly recommend. The only thing I didn’t like was my drink was too strong.
I had absolutely no idea this place existed! What a gem.The security guard was pleasant while he checked ID and did a quick pat down of the male that was with me.When we got inside there was an eclectic group of patrons. It was obvious they knew about this gem.We were able to sit quickly. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive without being annoying. The real star of the visit though was the food! Delicious!I got the Cesar chicken salad and the other person got the ribs and fries. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and not overcooked and dry. The ribs were tender and tasty. When we left we had to walk past the kitchen. This food was so good that when we got to the kitchen door I popped my head into the kitchen because I had to see who was cooking 🤣. There was 3-4 guys in there working their magic. Keep up the great work fellas! On top of that, the meals were reasonably priced and plentiful. We found this place from a Google search of places near me to eat (Renaissance Hotel). The parking lot is super tiny, but we were able to park at a lot next door since it was after business hours. I dont know about parking during the day.I highly recommend this place if you are near LAX.
This was my first time after many months since being in Melody bar, and a few things that I noticed were different, where the menus have been updated. There are a lot more options for individuals who don’t eat meat, which I was happy to see. I also noticed that the environment is different. The crowd was more calm, it seems more enjoyable and not as packed as I remember. If you were looking for a place with good food, good drinks good vibes. Be sure to check them out
So I made a reservation for 6 since I was inviting my son (who had gotten into a car accident earlier that day) and his family out to eat for dinner which was only himself his wife and daughter. I also had my kids with me. The egg rolls were amazing and the orange shrimp with White rice Was amazing as well. The cucumber salad was too sweet and the chicken noodle soup taste like dirty water, specifically with bouillon and added vegetables. The server which had one arm for everyone clear to see was very nice in the beginning as she served all of our food. My 15 year old has Type 1 diabetes sat at the table while we ate because her food still had not been presented to her which was Spicy shrimp fried rice. For some reason, it took much longer than usual and by the time she bought my daughters spicy shrimp fried rice she began to eat it as she was now very hungry from watching all of us eat. I asked my daughter how did her spicy shrimp fried rice taste and she said good.…Well about four minutes of eating it. She pulled a long stringy hair out of her mouth and immediately lost her appetite. I was so happy that she did not throw up from the look on her face of discomfort or disgust. Plus my daughter had already administered her own insulin To cover the meal. So I told the server with one arm and she said “whatttt?!… let me take this to the back and see what’s going on!When she came back to the table, she said loudly “everyone has their hairnet on back there and no one has curly hair, and that is a piece of curly hair.”I Was surprised that she would come to me and say what type of hair it is as if someone at the table put the hair in my daughters food just so she can pull it back out of her mouth! My tab was $100 and I had ordered mango sticky rice to go and I cannot believe that she was so rude after paying for the food. I went over to her as she stood at Register and waited for my receipt. I told her “I don’t appreciate you coming to the table and speaking loudly to me for everyone to hear in the restaurant about what type of hair was in my daughters food after they took forever to prepare it and to sit and watch her pool that long, nasty string of hair out of her mouth.”“I have money, Clearly, money is not the problem here and I made the reservation, and paid for the food and even order something to go!…so how dare her seem as if we planted the hair. I told her she should have just apologize for the inconvenience and left it at that, not stand at the table and Go back-and-forth like that, she was rude and she interrupted me and says, no I was just relating a message from the manager.I said “no!”, I stopped her from speaking and I said “no, you were rude not the manager! … and she says “thank you!” All loud As I walked away back to the table And I said “you’re NOT welcomed! Loudly back …and we all left. Never going Back again, and we threw away the to go box of chicken fried rice!
It used to be a nice Black/Mexican dive bar, but when I went recently they were now charging cover. I don’t know if other people have the same issue, but I got a fundamental problem with a bar charging cover. I am not paying to enter for the privilege of paying for overpriced drinks from you. Los Angeles has a tendency to charge anywhere between $16-25 for cocktails and like $8-13 for a beer, so drinking here isn’t cheap. While it’s nice to see black and brown faces I’ll go drink with the white folks where I don’t have to pay cover or get patted down.Sidebar: if you have a layover, this bar is super close to LAX airport so you could come over here and save on drinking in the airport…or kill time before your flight.
Hi everyone I have been coming to Bar Melody a few times over past years. I havent been recently. However I went with my friend who is a DJ as I insisted this could be a fun place for him to share his talents. The manager China was really gracious and helpful. The young man helping her behind bar was also helpful. It was Karaoke night Sat and energy felt like family. Im disappointed my friend DJ 6ix 5ive wasnt able to share his talents at this local hip spot. Yet I wanted to say thank you to China for attempting to help him getting.I have not eaten here so I cannot share my experience yet. I will update once I eat here.
Melody Bar and & Grill always get 5 of 5 from me. Their happy hour is very affordable, and the food is always cooked fresh. Now the drinks, the drinks are always a hit, and the bartenders are definitely NOT stingy when it comes to serving the guest. Also, beginning around 5pm they have a live DJ that plays all the great music. If youve never been to Melodies definitely go.
The night manager, Dylan Sylvester, very rude young man, very rude for some reason he keep approaching me and a family member about a matter. We dont even know what hes talking about. He makes such a horrible scene every time my cousin walked in there this young lady barely even go up in there we saw altercation where a bartender was arguing with a customer and tell them to come out and fight, pulling us to the side, letting us know whats going on. He makes this big outburst, I also have been in there a bartender behind the bar to fight a patriot. She was telling her to come outside. Lets see if you come outside. Im like thats not how you do business and he was entertaining it. Hes never once tried to diffuse it he kept telling us you guys dont know what happened at the bar. It dont matter. Customer service is not a bartender come behind the bar to fight a customer , also hes real loud he he just goes so big. I know hes abusive man because he has that personality. I wanna get to the bottom of this matter with us because we dont even know him never had no altercation with him and he keeps saying we had some kind of words with him. We actually think this man have us mixed up with someone. Hes not someone that you can say well can you put me to the side and let me know whats going on? He makes such a big big Thing scene and we are very nice young ladies who love to dance, never caused drama he always come in so foul I really dont think thats the position for him and would you keep calling up there? They act like there is no one you can speak to. Im going all the way on this matter Im sorry.
The food was okay, except for the French onion soup, which is really just onion soup (no broiled cheese on top), and worse, they served it with grilled cheese sandwich on the side (it said on the menu so no surprise we knew there would be the sandwich). No pic of the sad soup. No pic of kids mac n cheese too which was basic but it was pretty good.
So funky and chill and AMAZING food! Service was stellar. This is not your upscale bar. It is homegrown and has character. So don’t bring your ‘tude here. Bring your chill vibe and enjoy! And by all means don’t forget the BBQ ribs!
I moved here from Phoenix Arizona, 7 years ago! I wanted to find a spot that felt like home, the Legion in Phoenix. Melody’s is it it’s been my go to Friday night unwind place, I’ve met some great people here. The bar food is pretty good, the bartenders are great and music is the best on Friday nights!
If I could give a 0-star, I would. We arrived and were seated in the patio because we did not have a negative COVID test, nor am I vaccinated. No problem with that; I understand the policies. Well, my server, Christina, got our order and brought the food pretty quickly. So far, so good. The FIRST issue was hair in one of the plates. Christina came and took the plate a little mad and replaced it. SECOND issue came when I was eating my Philly Steak Omelet, and halfway, I bite a rock that was inside the omelet. I showed Christina the rock and asked her to replace the plate. The THIRD issue came at the time of the check. Christina charged me half the omelet because I ate half the omelet before I found a rock in the food I was chewing. As soon as I started to explain to her, she walked away, saying she would get a manager. The manager came and told me Christina charged me half because she has given me four plates already. Which I told the manager I wouldnt be fighting about it if it was just a hair. I found a rock on the plate, not just a hair. The manager understood and removed the charge. Then, I had to sit for 10 minutes before walking to the inside of the restaurant because Christina forgot she had customers in the patio. Her service was not the best and with a horrible attitude. Needless to say, I wont recommend this place to anyone looking for a brunch or even a nice time.
I LOVE what they have Done with the place lately Very Nice Decor on the All new patio area. The inside remains old school, old fashioned and cozy. Very spacious with pool room and televisions everywhere. The food is pretty darn Good too. A great selection of apps and entries that guaranty to Fill the Belly. Drinks and Bartenders will keep you coming back for more and more 🤣 one Of my Fav local spots HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
AMAZING food and we had a sweet waitress! We went for lunch early Saturday and she was on top of everyone. The whole place was a good vibe.
In regards to a bar/lounge experience, this was by far the worst experiences in my adulthood. The fact that the cover charge is cash only should have told me to run the other way. Its truly not worth the entrance fee at all. The place is overly crowded with no structure at the bar. There were not enough bartenders to handle the crowd and they all had disgusting attitudes due to the demands of the crowd. People who arrived way after I did was offered service before me due to the lack of structure. If you are charging a cover, you should have everything in order to handle crowds. This review is based on SERVICE alone. I didnt get the opportunity to have a drink because I was never helped. I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again.
I will say the food is great, and the people are cool, security is on point but not overbearing or annoying, bartenders are quick. Its more of a hip-hop / club bar, but I was digging it in the moment
A real surprise. Rock in on a Wednesday night and watch/listen to karaoke. Beer is cold and the salads are huge. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking out the back is possible.
Im not sure about the night life here because we are here at 8 am, but if you are up and in the area - GRAB BREAKFAST. Were from Salt Lake City, Utah, and besides the parking confusing us (street parking is very limited and only 1 hour, but we now know that there IS a big parking lot behind it) but the food was excellent! Waitress Jaclyn was amazing and the feel good music was nice.Philly omelet was bomb said Lee High and the short stack and hash browns were pretty darn good, too. 😁👍
Jumped off the plane and landed right here...lol...This awesome, vibrant, hole-in-the-wall, water hole is just what I needed. Fine Margaritas, pretty good chicken tacos, with Garlic fries..yummy.Small club with big atmosphere. My cousin and I stopped in to have a few drinks and catch-up! The Big Bro. was friendly and welcoming! Thanks!
Always a vibe at the Melody Bar. Great food, good music, cool crowd. Drinks are high, but strong. My goto spot when I wanna have a good time.
So happy Melody Narade it through the pandemic! Our waitress was Tina and she was friendly and attentive! The drinks are good and the food is better.Blood orange margarita - delicious flavor! Good amount of tequila and awesome price!Beet Salad - very fresh and large portion. Delicious dressing.Spicy chicken sandwich 3 ways - very good crunch and good portion. The hot sauce is HOT.Beef sliders - delicious and perfect size. Caramelized onions really make it.
With a name like Melody how bad could it be right? This was not the place for us. I really hate giving one star, and here are reasons so management knows. I believe if you are not a regular customer you are ignored and unwelcome.Thats what happen to us. We sat at bar and really felt out of place. The food we tried was not good. The cook came out to to delivered said nothing just plopped it in front of us. Guess she was having a tough night. Maybe we hit it on a bad night it was a Sunday.
I visited on a Friday night and had an amazing time. The DJ did a good job of keeping the crowd on the dance floor. The drink was on point. I definitely will visit again. 10/10 recommend
My good friend Kisha had a birthday Brunch party, I had a great time, the atmosphere was great, everyone had a great time. The food, them Lemon pepper wings was so good, and the drinks were on point. Great place.
Took a chance on a local favorite. Ridiculously friendly staff and locals. Most people knew each other by name. Great experience on all counts. Good drinks!
Fun location to meet up with friends. Taco Tuesday is fun. Tacos were on point!
The Club Security There likes to Beat Up Women. They are Very Aggressive and DISRESPECTFUL. The Security are Emotional Bullies
Great for food and drinks. Great atmosphere. $10.00Cover Charge is worth it. The music was outstanding. 2 DJ s spun their turntables to R&B, Rap and Old School Jams. I really enjoyed the fine Neo Soul feel of this establishment. Met a lot of good well to do people.
We came in around 5:30pm and caught the tail end of happy hour. We had the Buffalo Wings, Ribs, Tomato Soup and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Food was awesome, probably one of the best chicken wraps we’ve had. Our server was very friendly and happy to take care of us. Wouldn’t hesitate to go there again on our next visit in LA.
Things are very different since the pandemic, I went there for taco Tuesday and to have drinks for my birthday. They fixed the outside parking area really nice for outside dining, But we ended up going inside once inside the atmosphere was still nice as always our waitress was nice and pleasant and helpful since theres no paper menus anymore we had to QR scan it and have it on our phones. We ordered drinks my Midori Sour was good. My friend ordered a Strawberry & peach margaritas which was not it had no flavor of either Strawberry or peach but had a orange slice in it. We told our waitress and she brought over a cup some flavor to add to the margarita. We also ordered steak & a salmon tacos & chicken wings BBQ & lemon pepper. The steak tacos were ok too much cilantro and too dry. The lemon pepper chicken wings didnt really taste like lemon pepper but they were ok. So by the end of the night I ordered 2 items to go. And when we received the check there was a 18% gratuity service added which was $18. And I was thinking I had to pay that and tip the waitress the 15% which would have been $15. I ask for the manager she came over and explained that any time a bill is over a $100 that gratuity is 18%. and Im to tip the waitress her 15% tip on top of that she said no. But my point for bringing it up is nowhere is that stated and since the pandemic they dont have paper menus it needs to be posted.
Dont go here unless you want to be assaulted by security guard, unprovoked. The MALE security threw and chocked a female who was just sitting on a table, with no remorse. NOT A PLACE FOR WOMEN
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice. First time there. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. Made sure the food and drinks were good. I would go back again.
A grown man putting his hands on a black woman and calling her out of her name is a HELL NO! Do BETTER!
Coming from a LA native: this place is not where you want to go. Food is below average. Waiters are slow and drinks are overpriced. No parking. Paid $200 bill for 3 drinks and undercooked chicken wings But Charged $5 to move my car and re-enter. Expensive drinks. Security is horrible. Save your time and go to The District or SevenNineteen.
Cover charge is 10$ house tequila is 12$ they play funky old 70s music it’s an entire scam & they search/pay you down like you’re a criminalAvoid at all cost.
Was super excited to try this place as someone mentioned it to me. First stop after we left the airport.Unfortunately did not get to try any of the food. Or the water.I know someone cares a lot about this place. I know it probably encompasses all of their lifes work and passion for the food. Im leaving this review so whomever that person is can know. And some changes.
First time going to this bar. We had a large group of friends, and the service in the patio was excellent! Our server was so good that I left her 35%!! She was fast, attentive, nice, and patient all in one!! Though we went for drinks, we participated in the karaoke which was really fun!!
Very diverse, friendly, safe and secure place to let your hair down and have fun!!
The inside bar service was sad the lady talking to her regulars being rude. My drink nasty what is this I was not able to drink it. Ladies never leave nothing in the restroom (money stolen). It was not a good night . Customer service skill classes for that bartender you treat new customers right. A really unhappy customer. People should feel welcome there by the employees. The restroom is small you must be a small person to fit in the toilet area. That is not good who approved this restroom layout.
Them short ribs were everything, and its on happy hour. The chicken on the chicken nachos was so seasoned and good. The sliders had so much flavor!!!! The DJ and old school music was lit... dancing was happening for sure.
Are you looking for somewhere to have a spontaneous & (somewhat) blind date before a long haul flight out of LAX? If the answer is yes, this is the place for you! The staff are ridiculously kind, the ambience is off the hook, the tacos are tacos and if the walls could talk.. well, they’d probably make a movie out of this place. Will I come back? That depends on if my handsome date asks me out again. TBC
I can’t believe I saw security attack a woman for doing nothing but drinking her drink this here left a nasty taste in my mouth and I would never come back
Really great spot to grab a bite, especially if youre near LAX
Decided to get out on a Saturday night and check out this spot my coworkers recommend. They told me the vibe was nice, the music was good and the crowd was chill. They told the absolute truth! I cant remember the last time I had so much fun. The food smelled amazing but I ate on the way so I didnt try it. I am looking forward to my next weekend out. Highly recommend!
Not a food review, does have a $10 cover charge mostly every night, parking is free and close by. Bouncers/Security reads the room properly and I always feel safe.Ive been to this bar numerous times over the years and still go pretty often.Music: They have some of the best DJs hands down! From oldies but goodies to backyard boogie to 90s rnb etc..Location: Right by LAX, in and out which stays open late etc.Bar: I dont use outside bar but inside always gets you right, strong but does come with a price $18 cocktails, even on busy nights service is fast.Space: GET THERE EARLY enough to cop a squat at the bar or a standing area for your guess etc.Overly its a vibe more on hip hop cultural side.
I was back in town for a football game, but I used to live around here. I was digging the vibe of the outdoor dive bar backyard look. I went inside to get a drink and clearly because Im no regular here, it took forever to get a drink. They thought they pegged me as a tourist I guess and charged me $18 for one short glass vodka redbull. 😳 I know right! But I paid that price & didnt complain. And as soon as I finished my drink I didnt order a single thing more, but instead went & spent a bunch of my money at another bar.
Came here to kill time before flying out. Had the garlic fries, Ceasar salad. And chicken strips. The hot food came out hot and fresh the drinks were great. The people working here were super nice and attentive. I saw a lot of the food coming out of the kitchen and it looked so good. If I lived in this city Id definitely come back many times!
Melodys bar is great, wonderful live performances, heavy poured drinks with great staff! As a white passing Latino I felt very welcomed and catered too! I usually go after work around 9pm bc I work at LAX. I hope to go to happy hour !Nachos were so good, and I rather have loaded fries- so that says a lot Yummmm. The pretzel is delicious but it’s burger is so tiny!!!! I do appreciate the fries that come with tho, but definitely not filling hahah.
I had not been here in years!food is still delicious. My friends and i had the mini sliders with the calamari jalapeños and ribs for ,happy hour. Every thing was good drinks were strong and delicious!Always a great time Great music.
I had a wonderful time and the drinks were too small for the price. The DJ was on..
This is suuuuuuch a cool spot. Friday nights this lovely bar gets turned up 🥳🎊🥳🎊🥳. Amazing people work here with great service. I had a Ginger lemon drop that was so good I had 2. Nice serving portions of food. We had a Melody salad 🥗, and chicken strips with fries 🍟 😋. Ive been coming here for years. Every year gets better and better. You will dance 💃 the night away. DJ is on point music wise 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Fire the security now i promise you i will not step foot in this place again
Always a vibe in melodys. Good music and good drinks.
Visited this place on a Tuesday to place a To Go order. Upon reaching the door, I was told I needed to pay $5 entry fee. I explained that I just wanted to order some wings and didn’t intend to stay in the restaurant or bar.The security was not accommodating and turned me away and refused my entry unless I paid the fee.I’m quite surprised this happened to me. I love this place and had flown into LA briefly with my mouth prepared for their delicious wings and garlic fries. Too bad their online system does not work and their staff is not able to allow customers in the establishment to order “to go” items.
This was a cool dive bar and club. The DJ was great playing a solid mix of new and old hip-hop and r&b. It was a mixed age crowd of 20s to 50s. The food was good, with good service and waitstaff. The outdoor patio is very cool, the pool area as well. It was $10 admission and they ID check.
Melody is one my favorite bar and grill. The drinks are excellent the food is good its just the whole atmosphere being there meeting and greeting people hanging out with friends.
Stiff drinks happy hour is good Buffalo wings are good
Not for the mature and older crowd on Saturdays. I have been here on a Friday and truly enjoyed the drink, dj, and the crowd. For the younger crowd on Saturday, I witnessed a lot of fun and enjoying the atmosphere. The only complaint I had was it was said to close at 2 but last call was at 12:30. Totally was shocked. We left and went to Culver City to finish our night
Service a lil slow.. but they keep alot of turnover when it comes to staff. BUT, the bartender are very cool still. Wings never disappoint! Great bar to watch the game with a food vibe of ppl.
Melody has some good food thats for sure. Went there on a Wednesday night to hear my daughter get her karaoke on and that was really fun. Lucky for us they had some pretty good singers because although Im all for people having fun, the clownery does get on my nerves and ruins the joy.
Has changed over the years and the music hasnt been that great the last 2 times I went. But the food is good. They take away seating and now its 30 and over. I like that it has always been diverse in regards to age and race since I started going.
Drinks are pricey but the vibe was fun. Pretty packed inside but they had outdoor seating with heating. Only reason for 4 stars is they messed up our drink order but we didnt want to wait to get it corrected (wrong liquor poured for shots).
Worst place Ive been to in LA recently. 20 minutes before closing they were kicking us out saying that theyre closed. Cross the gate threshold and they locked it. Other people still inside and that was okay. Asked if we could hang out and wait for the Uber, they said no were closed but allowed other people to stay. Only allowed us one drink. Horrible customer service. Thanks for your money. Get out is the vibe we got.
**Night time scene**There are No Smoking 🚭 signs everywhere but everyone smokes cigarettes and marijuana on the back patio. Strict rules but only to those who they choose to enforce to. Back in the day this place was such a great place (It was old school classy.) to have a drink 🍸 and eat. It was popular for industry workers (flight attendants, pilots, ramp, hotels) now they cater to only one kind of crowd. If you enjoy the Hip Hop and Marijuana/Cigarettes scene this is the place you want to go.
Friend, this seemed like the place to be on a Saturday night. The food was bumping and drinks were flowing and the DJ had the building rocking. There was a great mix of old school and new school being played. My friends and I fairly enjoyed ourselves. It was walkable from my hotel across from the airport which made it even more of a winner. I will definitely be back on another layover!
My spot for plane delays and any meetings near the airport. Great food and drinks. The outside patio is good for small gatherings of my friends to meet up when in the area. Music and service are good.
Nice spot for dinning 🍽 & drinks 🍸 on the outdoor spot free patio. Love the waitress, the tacos 🌮 on Tuesday and the Long Island tea. Everything was great until they started the LOUD music 🎶 that should had stayed inside. Music should be only back ground and NOT so loud you cant hear the person sitting next to you. More like a CLUB LOUD which is cool 😎 for a club but not for outdoor dining.
Dirty and it smell real bad inside and the restroom was filthy.
Went in with no real expectations. Staying at a hotel near by and just looking for a quick meal and a beer. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised. Service was a little slow, but the food was very good. If Im ever staying near LAX again I would go back.PS... if youre into plane spotting... they fly right over this spot!
This place is absolutely amazing! I literally thanked God that we had arrived there .The staff was so welcoming!! Tasty fries and great drinks! Big shout out to the beautiful person who helped us tonight!! ❤️ I
Great place to go and hang out. However, it can be a bit crowded, which slows up the service.
Monday night visit... nice, chill vibe! TVs on with the game playing. Food was good, drinks were great! After the game, there was a DJ that kept a good vibe playing music from 1990 to now. Decent crowd of people, no drama. Will definitely swing back through.
Unprofessional business that allows their staff to determine who can be a patron of the bar. Managers and owners seems to never be able to be found when trying to resolve an issue. Would not recommend based on the lack of professionalism that takes place here. Not to mention all of the unsafe and violent acts that take place here. However… seeing how their staff is aggressive, violent and unprofessional, it makes sense why so much violent activity takes place there. It’s not safe. It’s not professional. It discriminates.
Amazing drinks. Amazing. Not unlike other speakeasy bars- small space, tough for seating or accommodating groups larger than 4-6 people. The hard surfaces make the space really loud.
Missed this since Pandemic. Felt great to be back- first time in 3 years! Great music and people! I love the back patio space too. Will definitely be coming back regularly!
I attened this bar on a Saturday and apparently they charge for parking sometimes, they also have a cover charge at the door ($10-$20). The wings are good but please keep up with your order it just might end up at someone elses table. The music is good and the vibe is ok for the younger crowd in my opinion. Maybe I will try again on Thursday when they have a live band.
Ive heard a lot of great things about this place and have been excited to come. Ive attempted a couple of time before but have not been able to get inside in time as the line was down the parking lot on a weekend. It was a mellow early Wednesday night. We came straight in, got an ID check, and sat where we pleased. The cocktails were between 10-15 dollars and decently mixed with alcohol.I liked the environment, allowing me to feel like I can kick back and converse, or I can enjoy the music and dance a bit. As an early 20 year old, I personally like to dance, which is why this is a four-star for me. Still a nice place to go.
Was here Monday, October 31 for their annual Halloween party. I did not dress in a costume but as you can see from the pictures plenty of people did. There was drink and food specials throughout the night. The staff is friendly. The DJ kept the music going all night. Little twerk, little r&b, some old school, Jamaican music. Whatever the dj played someone was dancing. It was a whole vibe throughout the night. I had so much fun. Close by LAX. If you need a layover this place is definitely a spot to pull in. We locals enjoy this place very much.
I have been coming here before the backyard fun food has always been good drink be on point love music karaoke night
The servers were great ! They are friendly, patient and speedy :) the music could be improved as to some of it was a bit explicit and in order to elevate the experience a bit of variety would be beneficial and more welcoming. If the music is too explicit it can be a deterrent. The food is bar food for now so you can’t expect too much but it was made well and it tasted fresh ! What else can you ask for. It wouldn’t hurt to add more beers to the beer selection. The cocktails were NO JOKE ! They are generous and heavy handed as expected 👍 security was professional & vigilant without interrupting the social atmosphere.
The bartender outside charged me for a drink then said my card didnt work and it was charged to my account anyways. I had more than enough money on my card. Stop playing with peoples money next time i know to bring cash.
We only had time to visit briefly, but I am so glad we did! The blueberry barbecue wings were exceptional and fall into our All-Time Top 5 category. It was a meaty wing, perfectly cooked, and the sauce smelled heavenly. We had a very friendly server, and the service was really fast. The atmosphere was pretty chill, and I very much enjoyed my drink at the Happy Hour rate. Will return upon next flight through LAX.
It got scary when they started frisking people and looking in purses. Guess that makes it safer but threw me for a loop. Ill only go to happy hour with someone else. Our server was delightful and happy hour portions were good.
On Saturday night, expect a full correctional pat-down from security and a $10/person CASH-ONLY cover charge.
Stuck in LAX due to missed/cancelled flight and had a great time enjoying happy hour at Melody Bar & Grill! We had a few apps and some drinks; our new favorite bartender, Kayla, took AMAZING care of us and well definitely be back (and try to catch karaoke) next time were in the area.
Over Priced. Dont go to your car or out to get cash. They will charge $5 each time you go out and in. Ridiculous when youre already been in spending way too much: (Get risk bands!). Found a better reasonably place next door.
This place used to be a vibe, no its just a rowdy place with thug security. And thats a statement coming from a girl from south Central. The security are nasty attitude, dress unprofessional, and act like lil boys instead of grown men that are professional security guards. The bathrooms are always dirty. The environment was a great place when it was a mixed crowed, and the music was mixed now its full of urban people with urban music they are catering to one type of crowd. I can say worse but I will save my time for better reviews
Thank you so much for providing delivery and pick up during the quarantine. I have ordered two times for pick up, and it has been so easy. The food was great (I got the tuna melt and chicken sliders), the price is right, and the service was fast. (Thanks, Oscar!) I was also able to order a mimosa kit to go!!! Plus, there was music playing from the DJ inside! It is a pleasure to support one of my favorite local places. Thank you, Melody Bar & Grill!
I give it a 5 star review because the atmosphere is relaxing and chill. The age group looks about late twenties and up. My only problem was the Gilroy Garlic fries because they had fresh garlic tossed with herbs that looks like chopped green onion. The fries were light and soft not cooked long enough. But other than that my food was good.
I Love this place. the food is so good. and I live right around the corner I never new that they was there now Im going to go all the time for the fish 🌮. People u should try it out. And The hosts is a very nice greety !!
Visit with a friend, who is a regular there but it was my first time. The customer service was beyond great food was delicious & the atmosphere wasnt sure what to expect but it turned out to be more than I anticipated, definitely in a good way. Love the oldies & goodies from the D.J., if I had to rate him it would be a 7. Overall, I love it & will definitely be back with friends.
Okay they got the ambience right but their food is lacking. We went for food and drinks because they were open till 1am and the kitchen stopped taking orders at 8:30.I also didnt enjoy the potential criminal routine to get into an almost empty patio. I truly was a fan when they first opened.Im going to talk to the owner because they can learn how to be packed.
First the atmosphere was great for an early Sunday afternoon. Second the food was on point breakfast burger and French toast oh and mimosas. Only think stopping me from giving them a 5 star review is the service. But our server made up for it in the end. When you fly into LA this is a first must stop
The lemon pepper wings and grilled cheese bites are absolutely fantastic. The issue was the service which was absolutely horrible. The server seemed to disappear and I was left waiting 25 minutes to try and pay my check. When I finally was able to find someone they had let me know the server had to take a personal call. For a place next to the airport you would think they would be use to people trying to grab a quick bite before a flight. If your in rush be sure to plan accordingly
Came to visit LA with my son from college for the holidays with my daughter who lives in LAThe food, music, atmosphere and prices were fantastic!!!! Will be back on my next visit
Nice place to hangout, have a drink and dance. Drinks were made very strong and I’m so satisfied to find a spot that doesn’t serve watery drinks I think it’s black owned as well. This will be my new favorite spot.
Want a delicious place for food? Melody Bar and Grill is our new place for easy delivery or pickup. Delivery was fast and safe. My son raved about their Buffalo chicken tenders and I loved the chicken sandwich and of course their garlic fries wow. Cant wait to order out again from Melody Bar and Grill. Try it!!!!
The food is incredible and the happy hour is great! Our waitress was great. Definitely worth it!
This is my favorite Happy Hour spot during the week. But Friday and Saturday it turns into a jumping Hotspot. The DJ has the placed turnt all the way up. The waitresses are super cool, patient, and helpful. The bartenders are friendly, good listeners and know how to make great drinks. The Southern Belle is my favorite for a True Southern Belle.
Menu has lots of variety and all the food was fresh. Wait staff were friendly and checked on us regularly. We enjoyed having a good local restaurant within walking distance of our hotel at LAX.
Nobody answers the phone and security at the door is glossy eyed to almost a comical level.
Came here while on vacation. Its a great little spot. We got there around 8 and by 10 it was packed! They had a DJ and the music was exceptional. Service was great and so was the food. Well definitely be back!
I was there and Got Banned because the Bar tender was rude and asked a couple behind me what they wanted to drink and looked right pass me and my woman. And when I mentioned it he called security. Im the Brother of the Legendary Nate Dogg I will never Go there again. That bartender was racist. And they never asked me what happened they just told me to leave. Felt disrespected but just left and left it alone.
We went they didn’t address us then when they sat Us down the waitress never came and took or order offered us any water. We went and told them we will like to place an order, she stated ok we sat there hungry for 45 minutes waiting no came so my party and I left. Very bad customer service
I found this place on yelp and me and two friends went on tuesday night. and there was a young waitress skinny and she was the most rude person i ever dealt with. not sure if she was frustrated or having a bad day. we came in and i had never been there and i guess it’s a little club at night but you can eat as well and i was trying to ask the young lady where do we sit to order food. and she said hold on she was busy waiting after 10 mins i saw her and tried to ask her a question and she yelled i guess out of frustration of her not liking her job or being busy. but i left didn’t eat or get a drink and will not be back. it’s sad that i hate going and dealing with black waitress’s cause they be so rude either way place looked fun but not sure what her name was but i will not return ever we left immediately.
We were on vacation and was told about this place so we went. We loved the feel of the place! The music was great. It was small but most Sports Bars are on the smaller side. There was a side where you could sit at tables and I didnt walk all the way in but it appeared to have more room. Id definately suggest it and will go back next time Im in LA, CA!The music was hip hop, soul and r&b. The crowd was mainly African Americans. There was a $5 cover charge. In the front was an outdoor patio. Parking is mostly behind the building (get in where you fit in).Dress code: relaxed
After Failing to get service after an hour at La Louisian my friends & I came here on a Monday & was extremely happy the music was awesome as always the staff is friendly & the food & service was wonderful. The DJ played In my feelings by Drake for me & then a live band took over & played their own rendition of the song. It was amazing. We had the best time!!! I’ve only come on Fridays but now Monday is my favorite because of the Amazing Live Band!!
Great vibe and DJ. Customer service was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was verbally threatened by one of the managers. Beware.
Got there right before brunch ended waitress looked out made sure we were to get brunch but also gave us the regular menu as well. Food was great we ordered from the brunch menu
The tap beer was cold. Service was good The 3 different Appetizers we ordered were great. My only complaint is that the DJ is just too loud for that size of bar area, so if you want to be able to chat while they have live entertainment, be sure to sit in the back or go when they are just using the juke box. That being said, I will return.
I stopped in here while waiting for my plane and had a beer and a bite to eat. Oh man was it good, the people were friendly, I liked the atmosphere.I recommend the breakfast BLT. The wings are good also. And I will be stopping in my next time through. The guys at melody were super good to us. I will come back for sure.
Straight outta the StL! Enjoyed my time in LA. This place was the cherry on top! Had brunch there. Loved the laid back, chill atmosphere. Great music! Staff was very friendly and I swear I thought I was eating food I cooked at home! Definitely coming back!
Reliable post-game wind-down spot, with live music, casual atmosphere, and chill vibes. Great people with a mature, grown and sexy attitude. No dress code, cover, or Hollywood hassle.
Usually pretty great! Food is fresh and amazing and brunch special is the bomb! Service on Sundays is great but walked in in today and the black male bartender sucked! Didnt appreciate his humor and almost walked out but didnt want to disappoint my friend that I had been begging to come to be disappointed.
We love the patio and went there for a weekend brunch. Its a great place to sit outside and relax. The staff are welcoming and the service is great. The brunch menu is limited, though and could use a refresh.
Stopped off at this joint before I caught my flight home to Vegas. Best time ever! Great food. Great staff. One of the security guards, Damian, even ordered me an Uber to the airport when my phone died. The next time I stop off in LA, Im definitely dropping by.
Nothing but impressed!! Some of the best huevos rancheros Ive had. The spicy bloody Mary was absolutely phenomenal. Atmosphere is perfect and the employees are efficient and professional. Will definitely return if Im in the area!
Last night was nice and smooth thank you to my wonderful server Kayla whom made my experience more pleasant her accuracy with my picky order and her suggestions made my time at Melody Bar & Grill excellent and fun filled. I will definitely be coming back on a weekend. Thanks again to Kayla 10/10
The Music was great the Chicken Taco was ok...what I did like the most about the Chicken Taco that it wasnt dry at all the food isnt that expensive which I liked as well. The amount of food that you get is good as well for the price you pay. The outside seating was excellent
Melody was once one of the Printing Spots most Loyal Customer for years, until we closed a few years ago. I drive the delivery van... Cool Business, Great Pizza!
I went here for the first time and it was absolutely fun. The DJ was amazing and the crowd was really pumped. The drinks were affordable. It cost $5 to get on but for the price it was well worth it. Crowd was very mixed and the area is great. Also theres plenty of FREE parking.
Drinks are expensive. Food is good (happy hour). The people are friendly. If u want to play pool expect to wait an hour or so. The music is great! The best part, is that there is an In and Out right across the street and a taco truck out back.
Its a decent local spot. Happy hour is fun with friends. I was surprised to find out they offer breakfast and delivery. I wouldnt suggest the Pecan praline French toast. Its a 6 inch steak rolls cut with tons of syrup and pecans. Giant bread and syrup 😕. Drinker are good.
Waiter was busy.. waited a long time to get drinks and to get our check.. lot’s of older caucasian inside the booth area lol.. all good.
Loud, fun, hip hop on the patio live band in the bar. Decent food, pretty good parking. The staff & the energy make it fun.
They have made a nice Patio out of the back parking lot. Drinks are fine, the food is generic bar food. No love unfortunately. Poor planing though as or server was trying to cover 10 tables. They have pretty good system for social distancing ECT.
What a fun place!I love ping pong and I love meeting new people so this was the perfect place for me.Its got a cool vibe, the music is on point and the drinks are really good.
Super fun place. We enjoyed a Mamosa breakfast out on the back patio. So much fun hanging with friends. I recommend this is a nice fun place.
This is an excellent site for dates, meetings, get-togethers, and parties. Good fun, awesome atmosphere, excellent LIVE music on Tuesday nights, superb food. There is an IN-N-OUT BURGER directly across the street, I still go here instead to eat when Im hungry. Most often I have ordered Loco Moco, my Brother has enjoyed their Baby Back Ribs, I once got the Bacon Jalapeno Macaroni & Cheese. I dont drink alcohol, the bar is happy to accommodate my request of lemonade mixed with Sprite. Next time Ill request my creation of a Virgin Screw, a tall, narrow, heavy bottom glass filled with: a sugar cube, crushed ice, 50% pineapple juice, 50% Sprite or Ginger Ale, topped by a Maraschino Cherry with a straw. It is a more than decent live music venue with a DJ on deck for the rest of the evening. Blues on Tuesday nights is awesome (though I always think they are a hair away from playing SRVs Pride & Joy)! There is a game room with Darts, Pinball, and Pool. There may be a mini bowling alley on site, too, Im not sure. There are also classic 80s videogames on hand. I may have seen Tracee Ellis-Ross there, once. It is across the street from IN-N-OUT BURGER, which I love, though honestly, it is faster and better to get a burger from MELODY BAR & GRILL.
Atmosphere was nice, food was excellent.Security getting in to the back was very rude. Had second thoughts on entering after his attitude. When asked a simple question he was very nasty and it was unnecessary.
Was there Wednesday nights and Zero complaint from me. Food was amazing and fast. The MELODY BURGER!!! absolute winner. Our server was fantastic and the drinks mmm.
We came from Houston just visiting, and I must say, this was one of the worst experiences to date. We were discriminated against and even asked to leave after waiting almost longer than an hour. We were the only light skin/ white girls and you can tell they didn’t want us at they’re restaurant at all. What a rude way to welcome newcomers to California. What’s even more crazier is when our Uber got there, they tried to convince us to stay?? It was a horrible night. Do not waste your time here.
It could be a better place. Ive been many times. The drinks are over priced, but that isnt my major complaint. Too many times Ive been there when it has been busy and and crowded. More times than not, they bartender or waiter had placed a few things on my tab that I didnt order or have. I have to threaten not to pay my tab if they didnt take those items off my tab. My tab is still usually $60-100, but Im not paying for something that I didnt order. Everytime I meet friends at the Melody Bar, I tell to look at their bill carefully. Good crowd, but service is horrible. Do not go when its a party. Cool when its a normal crowd.
We had an excellent experience with our take-out order from Melody Bar & Grill. Very prompt service at the backdoor, generously portioned and tasty cocktails, and really delicious food. Also, food portions were huge! We will most definitely order again!
Didnt know about this place. Its crowded, but youre able to enjoy yourself. It would be a plus to have someone avail to keep the bathrooms more tidier.
This place rocks! I could tell right away that our server Vera was on top of it. The service was really fast, the server was great and so was the food. What more could you ask for? Ill be back for sure. Thanks Vera!P.s GET THE PHILLY SANDWICH!! BEST IVE EVER HAD!!
Their lemon pepper chicken wings or impeccably divine. Recommend you go there and try them. Clientele is really nice, great atmosphere. The DJ knows how to bump some great sounds. And they have seven days a week, happy hour.
Good club that does not accept cards. Wants you to have cash and their ATM dont work. Caught a Uber all the way over here just to be turned away because in 2022 they dont accept cards.
Everything about this place was fantastic! The staff was very nice, and the food was amazing. The menu selection is fairly small but nonetheless, the food and customer service was amazing. This is a great spot to come to first after a long flight.
I only gave this place three stars because the food was absolutely delicious and the waitress was excellent. However, the person at the door was rude, non apologetic about his behavior when told, the parking was horrible, and the music was so loud you couldnt hear the people talking next to you. They doors were open at the front and rear entrances, and it was very cold.
Treated my Hubby for his birthday and we truly enjoyed ourselves! Met up with a couple of friends. Had drinks listened to some Live Jazz after the football game. I will definitely come back. great for Girls Night Too!!!
My sister took me here last night to celebrate my Birthday and they had great food, drinks and the music is awesome,I had a good time and would love to come back ❤️
We were looking for breakfast within walking distance of our hotel and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. We had a 3 egg omelette with crispy, not greasy hash browns and the huevos rancheros which came with a side of perfectly ripe avocado. Thoughtful service and a nice outdoor seating area
The worst representation of L.A. No class. There is a cover fee, and the bar, wanna be club, is a hot mess. Keep driving, pass by, you arent missing a thing.
Dont come here unless you want tou pay 18% gratuity for a party of one. Its ridiculous. The food is trash too.
Great place for happy hour. Good drinks and the food was nicely seasoned. Music was nice epmd, Gangstar, mixed in with some Jay z while I was there
Had a great time here! Enjoyed the vibe and the drinks. Fun way to spend the evening!
Its always an experience. There is a cover charge on the weekend after 8pm. You also need to pay for parking in the back lot. The DJs are great and so are the drinks. They also serve food!
Great local bar, mixed crowd of people. This place is usually packed which is a great thing.Bartenders are friendly and they pour great drinks. They are on it and attentive which is great for a busy bar like Melody, no one wants to wait for the bartender to finish his conversation so they can get another drink or pay their tab. The bartenders here are really on it.A lot of people I know like hanging out here and most of them dont live near by so that tells you something.Never eaten the food here but looks good.Karokee guy Danny is on point.
Greats drinks, cool atmosphere, attentive bartender, strong drinks. A cool place to come to unwind. A hidden gem. Youd probably drive right past it but that makes it even better. Reggae music on Sundays after 4.
The service and food was fair but atmosphere was terrible. Only 1 TV with local news but no sports with extremely loud music with explicit lyrics.
Went to Karaoke night last night… had a great time! Great experience, strong drinks and the best nachos! Def coming back when I visit LA again!
Great food and drinks, attentive staff. There was a $5 cover on Saturday night but it was reasonable. My initial thought apon entering was its a dive but later decided that was unfair. Its so close to the airport its ideal if you have a long layover at their peak hours. Uber is about $12 each way. My wife and I picked it a random and we enjoyed ourselves. Very diverse crowd appeared to be 30 year old and up.
Ive been coming to Melodys since 1994 when I started working at LAX! The food and drinks are excellent. Its a great neighborhood bar with great music and TVs for sports. If you havent been to Melodys you are definitely in for a pleasant surprise.
Had a meeting there. It was a little loud for 3pm the food was great. The music could have been turned down. For daytime.
Amazing home feel. Good drinks, fast service, & great food. Had an amazing first time here. Cant wait to come back. Needed a new local bar since moving back to LA
I apologize for not leaving comments. To me the name says it all but for those that are unaware....Melody Bar and Grill is the most awesome bar to go to. Its my go to place!!! Its starts with the parking lot....I have never had trouble finding parking, even when its super crowded. Then theres the security.....They look intimidating (all of them) but they provide the most excellent customer service and sets the aura for entering the bar. Inside the aura is amazing, not bright but not dark, everyone is enjoying themselves, minding there own business (in all the days I have gone), and the place is purely multicultural. Best and safe place for out of the area folks that are visiting. Oh and order ANYTHING.....food or drinks......you will not be disappointed. Lastly, the drinks arent watered down like Bowlero on Lincoln (just saying😏).
Nice little find in Westchester. If you sit outside, know that you will have planes at LAX landing every few minutes. Good food. Good drinks. Good atmosphere
Melody is an old school kind of bar and has been around for years. It might be small but I always have a great time when Im there. My friend Devoux DJs on the weekends and usually the day before a holiday and he brings the crowd and sets the roof on fire 🔥 on the 1s & 2s. The drinks are reasonable and delicious. They have a decent selection as far as the menu goes and Ive been satisfied with my food everytime I order something. So overall its a nice place to hang out.
