Super cool live show atmoshphere but the bar tending is below par. Firstly, when I came up to the bar to order a drink during a slow time, the bartender who was just standing around and looking in my direction - wouldnt approach me until I waved them over. Strange. Then after getting home, I realized that after paying for my last drink with a $20 bill, I was handed the change for a $10 bill. Again, thats just weird.
Got to share an amazing experience throughout my night at this business. Every employee very professional and polite with a sense of humor! Happy to share great times with great people at a great place! A+ Silverlake Lounge
Went here to see someone do an open mic thats hosted by Lazy River. They told us it was first come, first serve for performing, only for them to randomize the list of 30+ people. If youre gonna tell people directly in a DM that if they stand in line early theyll get to perform sooner than stick to your word! We got there 30 min early to stand in line at 5:30pm and she never got to play until 11pm. Completely disrespectful to the time of those who actually made the effort to show up early. I spoke to the organizer from Lazy River before leaving to voice my concern and she was rude with a self-entitled attitude about my comments after she claimed they always randomize it and I tried to express how unfair that is. Overall disappointing experience and not worth it for a poorly run open mic place. If you wanna sing, theres better options. The only reason anyone stuck around until the end was for a raffle to get ahead of the line next time they came in, since thats apparently the only way to know when youll perform.
I. love. this. bar. genuinely the best bartenders in all of LA, a wonderful little outdoor smoking area, and something for everyone. comedy! drag! karaoke! live music! you name it, they have it. come for the live entertainment, stay for the cheap drinks and great people. always a good time.
This venue needs to go out of business. They confirmed an event for us to put on at their venue and after months of working on it they cancelled on us. My team and I worked relentlessly to put this music event together and they had no disregard for us at all. India, the person who does the booking, should be fired. If she had any questions about our event, those should have been asked from the beginning. DO NOT PLAY AT THIS VENUE. DO NOT PUT ON A SHOW HERE. They will burn you in the end.
Apparently the previous owners sucked but this new regime are my favorite people in the universe. Natty wine. Great smoking patio. Nightly live entertainment. Literally the best staff and incredible specials. This place is a piece of local history, just go here
I thought my clubbing days were over but this place hits another level! Such a unique location with creative vibes to make even the most straightedge finance bro find his inner artist. Drinks are a great deal and the service is next level considering its a club. Come her to experience the birth of Classical/Pop raves.
Definitely a lounge and a great place to hang! Very local and the bands were great, god layout, cold beer, nice bartenders and plenty of seats. If I lived here, this would be my local watering hole- such a great vibe, I cant wait to come back and visit!
Awesome dive catering to Spanish speakers and queer folk. Extremely friendly service, but the drinks are about a dollar more than elsewhere. Theres a smoking patio and lots of space for attending their awesome shows!
First of all, The Sliverlake Lounge is a small yet cozy (21 and over) hole-in-the-wall lounge/bar so if you have children, leave them at home with a babysitter. Cover charge is $10 at the door, and dont forget to get your hand stamped so you could get back in if you need to step out for a bit.Second, small as it is, this locale makes a very nice venue for any local or up-and-coming musicians and bands to perform their songs for a rather lively audience. Also, I heard through the grapevine that many bands, including Silversun Pickups have played here over the years.Third, this place gets pretty crowded fairly quickly (standing room only) so if you come to watch a performance, try to get there early. Unless, of course, youre a strong and healthy young adult who doesnt mind being on his/her feet for several hours.Fourth, just like at other Iive performance venues, the bands here can get really loud (especially if youre up near the stage) and I noticed some smart people using earplugs as a precaution to prevent possible hearing loss.Fifth, they have a relatively small parking area, but youll be happy to know that theres a larger pay parking lot conveniently located on the same side of the street very close by, literally just a few feet away from this locale and it will only cost you a flat fee of $10 for the whole night. And lastly, for any handicapped music afficionados--just in case you were wondering--this place looked to be wheelchair accessible so come on down, bring a friend, have some drinks and enjoy the show.
Amazing spot! I usually only go to the free shows but they have a great back deck and you can get pizza delivered to the bar through their partner!
I love this nightclub! Good food and drinks, good service, good music. They even have goat yoga with cocktails on weekends and $5 lunch on wednesdays! The bouncer George is super awesome and keeps all the creeps away and he always has change for cover. The bartenders are super nice and will give you free drinks on your birthday. There’s different genres and themes every weekend, for example, they recently had an ariana grande / Mozart mashup and it was life changing. If you show them you got an A on your report card they also give free drinks. Btw it’s the place all the hottest people in la congregate. By far. So keep it a secret!
Stopped in for two standard (not double) shots after a large dinner up the street to get the fun going again. There was no band playing. To our amazement, the total was $22 plus tip, for two shots OF JAMESON. Jameson was the only recognizable whiskey they had amongst bottom shelf junk.Ive never in my life felt more taken advantage of, and I will curse this place every time I pass.
One of the top 2 places I’m going after COVID is over (right after my grandma’s house)! Drinks are reasonably priced, and the music guarantees a good time. The Billie Eilish and Beethoven mash-up was my favorite night here. Dog friendly too with cute doggie cocktails. Christine and Ronald, the managers, have put in so much time and effort into making this a hot spot for young people looking to party and make genuine connections. (Did I mention I met Tommy, the love of my life, here? ☺️)
If I come back here, it will be only because my friends band is playing. The bar tender lied to my face when I asked about the one kind of red wine he was pouring (really cheap, wino brand Livingston). I asked him how long the bottle had been open (a magnum-sized bottle probably from the gas station down the street). He said only a couple of hours. No red will go bad that quickly, even cheap Livingston, so I went ahead and ordered. Well, at the first sip, it tasted like waste water from a leather tanning factory. Even cheap wine isnt that horrible, and only a bottle that has been open for too long (12+ hours) will have this kind of nasty, terrible taste. I returned my glass and my girlfriends glass, and this bartender couldnt have been more of a prick. He got pissed off at me as if I (the customer) was being unreasonable. Maybe hes a Trumpster and doesnt know how to apologize or at least do something, anything to make things better. I then ordered beer for us instead, and, get this, instead of apologizing and with a smirk on his face, he said thatll be two dollars more. I then told him, you know what, you could have bought a 90 point Cabernet at Trader Joes for probably less than you paid for that swill, but you guys were too lazy to make the effort. I gave him the two dollars, composed myself for the sake of my girlfriend, and did the best I could to enjoy my friends band. But this a-hole bartender would have been unfazed if he had ruined my night. That dude needs to go find another job, one that he doesnt hate so much. And what is it about a place of business that would allow someone like that to work there and, in California of all places, be so completely ignorant of wine quality? Wow!
Fun venue to play a show or watch local bands. Parking is available assuming its not too crowded, and drinks are rather affordable! My only complaint is the monitors on stage do make it difficult to hear yourself.
My friends are on a tour of the US playing at venues across the country. They played here on Monday and after they were done the promoter took off with the cash and the bouncers kicked them out. These guys are talented musicians and very easy going dudes from Bismarck, North Dakota, and did not deserve to be treated this way. Their spirits are still high...the horrible people at Silverlake Lounge should be ostracized and the place shut down so some decent owners can take over.
Lol this is my new favorite spot, i dont fret to go out to much. The first time i went i saw an open mic it was very terrible this time i went it was good...ok...an open mic, ya know but a much better crowd, the bartender is nice and the restrooms are maintained. I just go on Sundays and i had a good time.
Came here for the first time ever with my boyfriend. Their drinks were great and their cheese pizza is even more amazing. Workers were also really friendly and kind.
I mean drinks were decent. I got blackout drunk with 15 drinks usually its 8. The bar tender was cool, I told him. About his weak drinks and hooked me up. He gave me extra cherries in my whisky sour. I gave him a good tip cause I did feel bad for throwing the first drink in his facr.
I had a really bad experience at this place the manager was way too rude, he didnt helped with the problem that I had with my order at the bar. The band sounded terrible. This place should go under new management, its a nice venue, but the people working there are terrible.
$8 cover, and $6 beers are fine but not worth the hearing damage from having a bad sound guy. Note: that intense feedback is a sign you dont know what youre doing.Wont be coming here again.
Really LA Weekly?!LA Weekly just lost all of its little respect I had for it by putting this place on their top list for bars in Silverlake. I know Silverlake isnt the first place people have in mind if they want to paint the town red, but seriously this place is crap.Hello and Goodbye...forever.This place is like a blast out of a mid 90s mexican movie where its all musty with a slight misty fog in the air and there are 5 guys at the bar and 10 guys sitting up along a wall of chairs and as you come in they all turn and look at you. Awkward.Cover Charge? Depends. To really push it over the edge, there was a cover charge! Ha! Literally, laugh out loud man! It was $5 dollars at first! Until we all looked in, saw how bad it was inside and walked away the door man told us it was free if we bought drinks! He bargained with us! What is this, a car sale?! We had to pretend to walk away before he pulled us back, pathetic. I heard stories of it being $8 cover also?! I guess its just whatever the doorman wants to charge each night.
Nice...great sound quality. Just saw a band called Riot Story there. Insane Funk and soul.. even the hipsters had to learn some dance moves. The singer is the next Beyonce.
I showed up a little drunk looking to get on an open mic list, sat right in front and banged the table in tempo a couple times for the musician on stage, for support. I mean once or twice nothing crazy. Didnt feel like I was excessively inappropriate. Anyway, next thing you know theyre asking me to leave. I found this policy of not being allowed to tap on a table during someone elses open mic set to be a little restrictive. Its an open mic event in Silver Lake not the L.A. philharmonic. SHHEESHHH.
If I had to to it all over again, I would live in the alley next door. I love this place. The comedy night with Madison Shepard is great fun! And cool bands play here!!
THIS was a great place for drinks at the end of drinking. Went w/ friends who live in the area, didnt realize it was guy night till someone said something. Drinks are cheaper than the other bars in the area. Really good vibe!!!
Silverlake is an interesting area. Up and coming I would say and not knowing much of the area we came in to this dive bar. Guess it was Mexican gay night cause thats what it was!No problems I can dig the rocking salsa and reggaeton beats. Im more of a Bachata guy, but guess that would be too slow for the crowd. DJ was spinning in some Samba for my friend too.Overall, very dark and cheap bar. Drinks especially are low cost here and the music is super loud.
I love Silverlake Lounge. I have both played and attended innumerable shows there over the years. While booker The Fold pulled out a few years ago, it doesnt seem to have affected the caliber of acts on their roster. The bar is cash only, and opens quite early on weekends for a half price happy hour. They do have a small parking lot, so if you get there early enough, you can park free and easy. Bartender/booker Mario is really awesome.
The diviest of the dive bars, seen many a show here on the cheap. Favorite show: El Ten Eleven/Ninja Academy/Tera Melos in 2011. Seen my friends bands play there. Cool place.
Nestled into a secluded hillside, the warmth of the inside gives the whole place an immediately welcoming vibe. A little dark and dusty, maybe, but there’s always a great crowd.
More bar than lounge....no place to sit and lounge at all, only high bar seats.Music system needs a bit of attention.Live performances: okay to great.
Two rings lost on the stage of the Silverlake Lounge during the Wasted Afternoon Open Mic this past Sunday 5/14/17. If you know anything, or you may have found the rings and you’re willing to return them, please reach out to me on Google+ or Facebook, the sizable award is offered. Thank you.
Just played here and everyone was awesome and the prices are great for a bar let-alone a venue. The owner is a awesome guy, show some respect and get some back 🤘
I was on this place on a Saturday June 3 2017. Drinks werent that great at all. Dont matter what I pay for the drinks. 11:30pm the place was empty the music was very loud. This would be first and last time coming to Silverlake Louie
This place is super! Great crowd. Live bands - and the sound is amazing! Friendly staff :)
Fun little dive bar! You never know what great entertainment theyll have, but the sound guy makes them all sound good.
A pretty view for sure. No argument there. Service though a little spotty..with drinks coming only with the hailing the cab type gestures..a little rough. Everything else...great.
We play there regularly.. its a dive bar with very limited parking. Drinks are reasonably priced.
Great venue, great sound, great bartenders, very cool management - all around a wonderful experience!
You have to buy bottled water here. They wont just give you a glass of water. Not very eco-friendly and it kinda sucks that you cant get free tap water in a place that serves alcohol.
Weird vibe but cool too?
Nice dive bar. Bartenders work very hard and were friendly. Bands were pretty good too.
Cool little dive bar in Silver Lake. Cheap beers and live music some nights. Dimly lit and grungy atmosphere.
I recently had my birthday party here and really enjoyed the vibe. There’s a massive dance floor and great service.
Cool, unassuming bar with friendly staff and good live music. Thats a perfect place for me.
Great atmosphere, cool bands and drinks are served with awesome bartenders. ❤
Excellent bar staff. Sometimes good music, sometimes engaging music. Thurs have always worked for me.
Kind of smelly in there. Sound system is only alright. Bartenders are nice or else 2 stars
Its a great venue to see bands. Yellow sign. South side of the street, if you blink youll miss it.
Prompt service, and the band, Laced In Blue, was the single best rock and roll music band in this, or any other solar system.
Rather dark, dank, and hot. Good unique live music. Friendly staff and service.
Cozy, and good for small music events. They have live music, not sure how often but I saw a good show there.
I know the owner and co-owner of this place
Cool little spot with cheap drinks and local bands. Usually $10 to get in.
Fantastic back patio, amazing staff, CHEAP beers and cocktails, and great slices.Thank y’all!
Good local dive bar with music and a patio. Cheap beer and pizza.
Bartenders were cool. Live performances and they have a DJ too.
I have not been there since 1986. It was fun then! Perry, Bobby and Lucio the three muskateers.
Legendary spot Ive been visiting for almost two decades. Ive never not had a great time!!
A true dive bar with friendly bartenders and a casual vibe. I utterly failed to see/be annoyed by the supposed cloud of hipsters.
Cash only dive bar. you have to walked right next to the stage to go to the bathroom which sucks when going to see a band, everyone can see you
Great small place. Nice to hear a band and get a drink
Great live music venue when theres live music. Theyre house music SUUUUUUUCKS.
Could use some help with drink, way too sweat. Dive bar with upscale pricing
Great pizza and wine list. Beer list is a little limited.
Solid dive, good acts that play here. Non-pretentious, homey environment for a deep pour.
Great music. Drinks are too high prices for this dive though!
Went to see my friends ban play. Great fun. Not too busy.
Super dive with pricey drinks.... 10 bucks for a well drink!!! Not cool
Good drink prices, kind bartenders, good music
Compress collide !!! Greatest band ever nice place to see them play....
Overpriced. Bartenders will give different prices for same thing all night. Watch out.
My favorite band the Elovay played here!! They were sooo good!
Parking was difficult, entertainment was very good for a dive bar.
Cool small dive bar with live music. No cover!
Intimate, good live bands, cover can suck depending on night
Typical hole in the wall but great ramen noodle place across the street
I didnt order a drink, went to see a friend play. Small venue.
Super cool bar very diverse bar and cool drag show.
Great room, killer bands - good times!
Good music cheaper drinks A bit of a dive bar.
Saw a great band there: Afro Deezy Axe!
Nice patio, not very nice staff :/
Cash only, but a fun bar. Live music as well.
Clean, reasonably priced drinks and awesome entertainment!
Stupid promoter tried to not pay us. Threatened to fight my manager. Screw this spot
Very divey little bar in Silver lake. Recorded a performance for a friend here. They didnt give me any trouble.
*Cheap drinks!*Friendly staff!*Karaoke!*Live Music!*🔥DJ’s!
Silverlake lounge is a great place to enjoy live music.
They support local bands and dont pay to play.
Screw the bands its a great gay bar
Went there for NYEs and watched some kind of mexican travesty show.
True dive bar. The drinks could be better.

It was something unknown to me, but the respect of the people who run the place and the professionalism of its artists, it was a very pleasant evening, congratulations especially to Rain, a great human being, and a first-class professional, I GIVE HER 10 STARS !!!
Mario is a genius! A pleasure to come and play our music from Argentina. Music always... I recommend!
You have a very comfortable and fun time listening to music and enjoying the transvestite show
