Its a pretty small and intimate venue so you can get really close to the stage! Theres really nothing separating the stage from floor other than height.Theres some street parking nearby if youre lucky or you can park at a public lot around the corner for a small fee. I think on weekends its free or its free after a certain time in the evening!

Very, very small. They had a live band playing when I went and it was so packed you could hardly get in the door. Has a bar that serves mostly canned cocktails. There’s a large outdoor smoking area where you can sit down and the girls restroom was a 3 stall bathroom. The parking for here was non existent, so be ready to walk.

My first time at this venue was very unpleasant. I was invited to a show at 9am the day of the show and tried to reach their phone number and email on their contact page for ADA accommodations. After not hearing anything from them, I decided to head to the venue and tough it out despite having a disability where I should not be waiting in hot, sunny weather outside on the ground. When it’s about time to go in, someone showed up who had apparently got through and requested early entrance so they could get first row. This is not a legal “reasonable accommodation” under the ADA, and is a common trick that is being spread around social media for early entry to GA shows. Venues like Tbe Fonda, The Greek, and even The Forum have actually disallowed this practice and eliminated it from their ADA accommodations. I shared this with their team, who interrupted me countless times, told me I didn’t look disabled enough to be given accommodations, and told me that I should have tried harder to get accommodations. I strongly urge this venue to revisit their ADA accommodation policies and discontinue early access for people who just want to be front row. If you are disabled like me, don’t try to go to a show last minute and expect to be accommodated in a fair and even way.BONUS: they called me, a person who had just self identified as someone with a disability, “insane”! That is incredibly ableist language. I hope they seriously take this as an opportunity to look internally as an organization at their practices, policies, and sensitivity training.

Intimate, very cool venue. Saw Quasi and Jon Spencer. The sound was great which is important, I do wish they didn’t design the lights to regularly shine right in the eyes of the audience, it was debilitating haha. Heads up that the bathrooms are under construction (or maybe they’re always like this?) with the shortest toilets I’ve ever encountered. Note, they did not check our vax card upon entry and they have you go through a metal detector.

The Echo is a really nice venue! It was clean, fairly spacious, and I loved the lighting and disco ball. Its mostly open floor with some seating along the walls. There is a small bar and you get a wristband if youre old enough to drink. I paid $14 for a Piña Colada and the bartender cracked open a can of something and poured it into a cup with ice, which I wasnt expecting, lol. So it doesnt seems like theyre making cocktails on th spot. They have specific security requirements like clear bags or clutches around the size of a hand. You have to go through a metal detector as well. There was a girl in front of me in line that had a small backpack and they did not let her in because it was not clear. So theyre strict about their requirements.I saw Hey Violet, Victoria Anthony, and Wrenn. It was a great show! 🎉

Random additional info that doesnt seem available anywhere:1) Yes, you can buy tickets at the door. (Obv youre chancing the show doesnt sell out.)2) There is bench seating around the entire back perimeter.3) The sound is indeed pretty good as others have said, but it does bounce off the back of the walls slightly.4) They open the doors to the outside for airflow, which may carry in some cigarette smoke.5) There are snacks and small bites (think candy bars and hot dogs).6) The canned alcohol is a LARGE size.7) The bathrooms are gendered and the ladies is *clean*.8) This is an easy-to-find location.

Im an artist and Ive performed at the Echo a numerous amount of times. I’ve always loved the staff here and the sound inside. This venue is amazing. I have nothing bad to say about that! This review is simply because of the person that was working at the ticket window on October 20th, 2023 at 8 PM. Regardless of me, being on the Setlist on the ticket master, and the echo even posting my set this lady would not let me into the venue. She was extremely rude and not receptive to my explanation nor my solution. I received extreme racism from this individual, as a black woman who is relatively calm, I don’t take someone displaying my frustration as aggressiveness lightly. I was very respectful until this individual started to talk to me in a very disrespectful tone and even proceeded to curse at me the more I try to stress that I was going to be late to my set, the more she got a disrespectful. Again, I love performing at this venue I felt I needed to say my experience yesterday because it extremely took a toll on me emotionally.

Parking Info, to park - the small attached parking lot to the entrance of the venue is a CITY LOT #676 for PUBLIC PARKING and its only enforced until 9pm so its free for all by the time your show starts. The Echo barricades the lot entrance every night and when I tried to get in, their security thugs threatened to search my car if I parked there. I told him he didnt have a warrant then he said he had probable cause like hes a real cop. Another security claimed LADOT let them use the lot every night. I ended up calling LAPD and the police officer left me a voicemail saying he met with venues manager and confirmed they didnt have permit to barricade the City Lot. Manager denied about car search and said their security wouldnt block any car from going in/out... but yet they barricaded the entrance and utilized thugs to block. LAPD told me hes going to report this to their Illegal Valet Taskforce. I posted a picture of the City Lot sign, you can also see it on Google Maps (but I have no doubt The Echo will vandalize it) guard your rights if you wanna park here for $2.5 or free after 9pm.

The sound was exceptionally loud and clear. Cokes are not too seriously expensive and come in a reasonably large cup (for those avoiding or abstaining from alcohol for whatever reason). There is a large outdoor smoking patio with ample seating and cigarette butt disposal receptacles. The staff was professional at the door, and I like that they wand for weapons. After the weapon check, the i.d. check is smooth, then the ticket scanner is right there. I advise event attendees to be ready with not too much pocket stuff, the ticket loaded on the phone and i.d. easily accessible because people not being ready can cause significant delays and a long line at the door. The restroom is clean, for a bar/venue with running water, toilet paper, a hand dryer, and, surprisingly, plenty of soap. The performance space is pretty intimate with decent views of the stage from most of the floor. The sound at the show I saw was brutally loud yet clear from virtually every spot on the floor in the front of the stage, though losing a good spot might mean returning to stand behind tall people who will limit viewing of the performance, while the sound remains about the same, so if youre dancing or hypnotized or whatever the seeing of the band wont really matter much. Not many people move to the music here, but thats normal in my experience at LA shows, but at least the crowd is tolerant of those who do wish to move and dont get ugly if you accidentally bump them a little bit when youre lost in sound. Overall I was really impressed with the venue. I forgot to mention I saw a food menu which includes vegan options, so even though I didnt eat anything I thought that it was cool that the option was there! Really fun show (Earth and Helms Alee)!

There security there sucks more than any place I’ve been to! there’s no help from them and when I asked if the venue had tickets at the door I was told an immediate no while my friend on the inside told me there was plenty and was able to get mine, so to the venue I’m sure y’all are losing money due to there incompetence. I also had lost some items and there is no possible way to contact this place to retrieve anything except for an email or a shout out on social media which is basically pointless. I took my 14 year old to attend a concert. I wasnt sure what to expect from a night club in Los Angeles at a music concert for all ages. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was small, intimate, clean, and safe. The staff wasnt particularly friendly but they did their job. The sound system had to have some problems or the sound tech persons needs to be replaced, for such a small space there was too much noise coming from the amplifiers, distorting and overwhelming the voices of the performers. The neighborhood, Echo Park, has completely changed in the last 20 years. It is clean, with lots of lights, restaurants, and at 11:30 on a Sunday night it was alive and I felt safe walking toward my car at that time with my daughter. I will not hesitate coming back for another event. I recommend this place.

I go to this venue quite often and I also play at this venue rather often. it took me a few visits to get used to the remodel that they did both in the main stage area and in the green room, but I feel that it may have been for the best. The sound is quite good especially when there is an exceptional engineer behind the board. parking is quite easy and cheap and youre almost always guaranteed a good show. it seems that there is always an effort to book a bill that works together, and add to that a built-in audience and youve got a nice little music scene. one thing I will say though is that I believe that the echo has now been bought by live Nation or one of those big huge venue type companies and so the security has gotten a little more standardized and a little bit tighter but fortunately all of the old people who worked at the echo are still working there, so I am almost always guaranteed a friendly face when I go there.the ambiance of the echo is dark, sort of blue, and dance-friendly. they even serve pizza from next door.

So we left.Really sad cause I loved the dancing and the 80s throwback vibe of this place. But with earplugs in I couldn’t hear what any of my friends were saying and without my ears hurt soooo bad :( I’m a producer and can handle some loud music but this loudness was legit dangerous. Another one of the great little concert venues in Los Angeles. Note that this is not hte Echoplex (theyre owned by the same people, the buildings are linked, but they are two distinct venues, the Echo is the smaller one with the entrance on Sunset). Great free residencies on Mondays.

Lots of choices here, the Echo and the Patio and the Plex. Seating along the back wall makes it easy to chill if you need a reboot, Grand Ole Echo on Sunday afternoons is great if you want to pretend youre at a club in, lets say, Franklin TN.
