A potentially incredible place for a quick bite right across from the greatest bookstore. The gentleman working the front really gave us the cold shoulder, wasnt very friendly I understand they were busy but it took a while for the food. My friend got his wings a whole 20-25 mins before I received my miso Mac. I wasnt planning on drinking but I also didnt think I would have to wait 30 mins for some water. I had time to go out and make a call, smoke a whole joint and the food hadnt arrived. I asked if I could cancel and they mentioned it would be ready in 3 mins. I took about double the time but I honestly believe it might have been on purpose because I didnt want it anymore. I paid because I want to try this place again. But then again I dont think Id be that upset if I never came back as well. Theres so many options around the area. I hope they get some extra help and it gets better. Best of luck.

The food here is spectacular, it’s my favorite kind of fusion: Asian + Southern Style Comfort Food.Wings: We got the Yuzu lemon pepper wings and they were fried to a perfect crisp and the sauce was generously drenched on each wing.Miso Mac&Cheese: OMG THIS IS DA BOMB DOT COM. Seriously, this is the most perfect Mac and cheese, with a smooth bechamel base and 5-6 different kinds of cheeses perfectly balanced. It comes with a furikake sprinkled top and crispy brûléed cheese. The miso blends in perfectly for a rich umami bite.Fried Chicken Japanese Curry with Andouille Sausage: this one felt like a mix between Japanese curry and gumbo in the best way, the rice has a nice plump texture, and the chicken was seasoned perfectly.Shrimp & Grits: I loved this subtle twist on a southern comfort classic. The gravy on this one is super unique and so addicting, the shrimp are cajun spiced and soooo yummy.Shoyu Ramen: this one is vegetarian and a pretty good so if you have a vegan or vegetarian friend joining, they can have a tasty option tooI can’t wait to come back, this place is going to be my new neighborhood staple.

The vibes here are immaculate! The owner was incredibly nice, and the menu was a lot of fun. The hojicha was spot on. Make sure to stop by before or after visiting The Last Bookstore across the street for a perfect morning or afternoon.

Had a great experience here last night! We took advantage of the happy hour menu - it goes until 8pm, which I appreciate. The miso mac and wings were my favorites, but we also enjoyed the gyoza (made from scratch!) and beef skewers.I had the collard greens too, and was impressed with the depth of flavor they had, even with a vegetarian base! Ended up drinking the leftover broth right from the bowl 🙂‍↕️Also tried the Sakura cocktail - refreshing, not too sweet, perfect for the season! And the service was on point! Bladimir took care of us and he nailed it. He checked in often, but still left us space to enjoy ourselves. When things cleared out at the end of the night, we got to chat with him more - he’s really knowledgeable when it comes to good food and drinks!Last but not least, the music was great all night, and the vinyl sounded SO GOOD on the sound system they have. A really great vibe for catching up with friends, or preparing for a night out downtown.I’ll be back next time I’m in DTLA! Gonna have to try those matcha pancakes 🙏🏽

This place is literally amazing! Been open only 3 weeks and it feels like an established spot. The miso mac and cheese was absurdly good and they have a really good variety of music and some impressive equipment.
