Has that classic bar feel in atmosphere, the bartender is a sweetheart and is very professional, food is great, had the Reuben, delicious, same with their drinks as there is a great selection of cocktails, beer, whiskey. Great music while you chat up with friends.Nice little spot to take a load off.

Burger is small and no flavor. Ordered it medium. Came burnt and dry. Got curds as my side instead of fries. Premium upgrade....comes out and its 5 whole whopping curds. Should have ordered waffle fries. Come on man..... very loud atmosphere.. cant hear conversation. To bad I live so close now. Back to the old favorites. Much better food

I received a delivery request and I got there in about 10 minutes to pick up a burger and wrap. They definitely weren’t busy. I waited another 10 minutes before I got the order. No apology for waiting for order. Food delivery drivers don’t get paid for waiting time. It amazes me that local restaurants don’t realize or care that the driver could be a potential customer. I live very close and will never be a customer.

We arrived at 12:20 on Thursday July 18th, party of 2 with a third to arrive later. Apparently there was Only One server and to say she was overwhelmed is an understatement. We waited at least 15 minutes for a drink and then when the food came out (2 burgers) she managed to dump most of my fries on the ground as we were seated on the patio, she said she would bring more but never did!! I dont care to listen to a Server telling tables How she just came back from vacation and shes tired!! Our 3rd arrived and never got any silverware or napkins so this was just an overall Bad experience 😕 Im sitting here now with the dirty dishes piled up in front of me cause Apparently clearing them is no longer a Server job!!

Boneless chicken wings great. Pizza I sent back. Cheese barely melted. Could not taste any sausage or onions. Barely warm . We did have great service

Food was better than in the past. But....... came specifically for the gluten free pizza as listed on menu. Online and physical menu says they have it. IT is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. They now have nothing on menu gluten free other than salad and plain things. Ok for me but not the wife and she is the boss.... Fish was great however. 👍🏿

Thrid time trying to reserve a low table with Patrick each time it was given away even had an online reservation confirmation this time showed it to a manager she claimed she didnt know you can do it online showed her the site she still claimed not to know of it funny every time I call Cat every thing is fine obviously Patrick doesnt know how to take reservations need to teach your managers about the reservation process terrible absolutely terrible

This is a nice place to get a drink and get out of the heat of the summertime. The staff is very friendly with quick service and good conversation. Everything I have tried on the menu has been delicious and the food keeps me coming back for more. I would recommend this place for a quick lunchtime meal. Its Very Nice!!!

Terrible experience, kicked out only black guy and served cold food and the slowest service you’ll ever receive. Got my food before I even got my drink is really crazy.

Jax has a relaxing atmosphere. I didnt eat there. The menu was small and the smash burger looked good. The bartender was friendly and so was the other wait staff.

Nice hangout. We enjoyed the chili, creamy chicken asparagus corn soup. Sweet potato tots with bacon and sugar just didnt do it for us.

Definitely will be a repeat customer. Food was tasty and quick. Biggest crispy chicken Ive ever seen so if youre not a big eater be ready for a take home container. Service was great and friendly. You will enjoy with your whole family or to watch a sporting event.

Their Walleye is among our favorite fish served in the area. Crispy, crumb crust (not greasy or beer-battered foam dough). Delicious- as are all their sides, incl veggies. Not the average freezer-to-fryer bar food. Excellent.

I need to give a shout out and big kudos and thank you to Kat. I worked with her for months to plan my boyfriend’s 50th Surprise birthday party. She was awesome, friendly, and so helpful. She helped me off the ledge numerous times with my nerves! Room is spacious for parties, was set up even early, pizza was gobbled by our guests and everyone loved it. Our server Molly for the night worked our party like a champ! Thank you to the team at Jax for making my party an even more memorable night!

The burgers here are phenomenal. One of the best in town. Sarah The bartender was fantastic and the bar itself was very clean. Great place to eat and socialize. Highly recommend!

We ordered on the phone for pickup. The estimated time to prepare the meals was 30-45 min. Its not bad considering I was 25 minutes away at the time. We ordered three orders of classic wings plain with the sauce on the side. Cost was reasonable, and there was a ton of food. Wings were best around, even with the new wing place down the street. I would go back, and I have gone back a few times!

In addition to being a great bar, this is a great place for lunch or dinner. I have ordered just about everything on the menu by now, and it is surprising good! This isnt just pub food. Everything is delicious and cooked really well. There isnt a bad item on the whole menu. The daily soups are fresh and delicious. Servers are friendly.

Reuben was great. I dont know that this is such a kid friendly place but dining al fresco was great. Wish out server had seen us come in sooner and get check ready sooner but all in all I will go again.

Excellent waitress, food and very cold beer. The pork tenderloin sandwich and onion rings were my favorites and I intend to return often for both. Husband really enjoyed his rueben sandwich. Everything was delicious. Also the interior is spacious and clean. Each day one sandwich is on special for 1/2 price which is a nice perk. And for the sun lovers they have a very nice outdoor patio area.

We had our first visit to Jax Pub today. Alyssa did a great job with our service. We both had the prime rib sandwich and it was fantastic. The au jus was very good. We also got the loaded cheesy fries and they were great after we added some season salt. Well definitely be back.

The bar tenders are great. They are quick and friendly. However as least 75% of the waitresses are either new or just suck. We had the wrong mimosas 2 times in a row, the diet soda is terrible, most of the food is ok. Id say the burgers and patty melts are the best items we have eaten. The slots are hit or miss. They have made it a much more family friendly atmosphere. They do stop serving food very early as compared to normal, but I think the slots stay open. The music is not great and its not my style. Maybe something a little more upbeat instead of mostly country music.

Prices are decent, food was good, service was very slow, food took a long time to come out. They asked how I wanted my burger I said medium and it came out well done.I would eat their food again but I dont know if I would go there again. It was SO loud, even for a bar.Food 4 starsAtmosphere 2 stars

The worst hand made burger I have had in years. Waffle fries tasted like they were thawed, salted, and undercooked. Companions chicken sandwich meal equally unimpressive, drinks slightly over-priced. Will not be coming back ;)

Fun sports bar, food is always fresh and tasty. Suggest the pork tenderloin or walleye sandwiches. Specials everyday. Great value.

Went to the AYCE fish fry that was supposed to have cod, walleye, and haddock on the menu so we ordered myself the Haddock my son wanted Walleye and my wife Cod. The waitress comes back five minutes later to tell me their outta Haddock so I ordered Walleye another 5 minutes she came back to tell my wife she has to order cod by the piece that their not offering AYCE cod today which is strike 2. We ordered the 5 dollar drink specials with Titos my wifes drink was really weak so we let the waitress take it back so she returns with the drink that was topped off and gets the thumbs up for a better drink. We also ordered a round of Halloween special drinks which where tasty. We received the bill to find out none of the drinks came to 5$ and they charged my wife double on the first drink because it was weak and additional fees for mixers!! We spent 114.00$ with tip on a mediocre experience and a limited menu!! My wife was very dissatisfied and doubt well be back!! Be sure to check your bill/allot of extra fees!!!!

As far as bars go it is one of the best in the rockford area. Food is good, atmosphere is fun, drinks are strong and fairly priced. Always enjoy being at Jax

The food was excellent. My wife ordered the garlic parmesan wings, and I had the southwest nacho bowl. We also had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. Everything was great! More importantly, the server was amazing. She came back to check on us several times, and made every effort to ensure that we enjoyed our meal. Id certainly recommend this place to anyone, and Ill bet back for sure!

Tonight was their first night hosting trivia. That is what drew 6 of us there!

I always love Jax. They have great food, and the owner is awesome. I love going for college football Saturdays.

First time at Jax. Jess was our server. She was great. The food was fantastic. I had the Blue Gill, two other folks had walleye, and the fourth had baked cod. The portions were large. The side options were great. I had coleslaw and cheese curds. Great customer service, great food, clean restaurant.

Didn’t let me and my friend in because we were “sagging” (we are both Black) but let my other friend who was dressed the same way in but was White

The service here is not really that bad ,even the food is quite good..but what is really going to hurt the business is the dancers from Tiger Tails to promote themselves from day to day stopping by every time..even so its a family kind of place,I dont think younger folks not need to hear this .

Good bar and grill. The service was good and I recommend the steak sandwich special on Saturdays. Not grisly and tender meat. 👍

Very surprised at how good of a time we had here. I havent been here in a while, always thought it was a kids hangout but I couldnt have been more wrong. The food was good, service was above average, and the atmosphere was perfect (If youre a Chicago sports fan, which I am). Well definitely be back!

Good bar but, depends what you go there for. I will have to agree that the service is less then stellar. I have been 3 times and had to wait quite a bit for service. I liked it because the crowd seemed to be mid 20 to mid 30s and got the most young professional vibe if there is such a thing for Rockford. Good if you are looking to hang out with friends or looking to dance. Top 40 music with a dance floor.

(Nothing about the business directly) Was there one night and my car got hit by a white Chevy Tahoe broken back windshield wiper on 06/19/21 and has not been found. He was a male and it was approximately 11pm. No cameras caught him but multiple people witnessed it. I’m hoping for some one to be able to possibly get his license cause he’s a regular or for witnesses to come forward. I would like to continue going here but I’m worried another driver will hit my car. It’s not fair you got to leave while I have to dealwith the consequences i was trying to enjoy my evening. I just hope he’s found so other people won’t get their night runnied this summer.

Nice to go to a bar that has a bit of an older crowd than we are used to. Seems to be a friend/group hang area for people in their later 20s which was nice. Its not often you find a chill hang out like this without the bustling 21 yr olds or college aged population

I had the chili which could have been spicier for my taste. Also had the tacos, the chicken was better than the beef but both were good. Also had some of my sis in laws shrimp. They were excellent and a good portion.

Disappointing experience. Went in on a Friday night around midnight. Two friends we were with were let in no problem. However, we were stopped by Mr. Dwayne The Rockford Johnson at the door and he informed me that I would have to step back outside and put my hat in the car, as they do not allow hats inside. Keep in mind, it was pouring rain.I had no problem following policy and marched back to my vehicle and put my hat in the car. Upon entering, I see NUMEROUS individuals wearing the same style of hat that I was wearing. Im not sure what was in his protein shake that night, but it left a disappointing feeling for the remainder of the evening. Will not be back. And thats fax jax.Please retrain your employees.

The best walleye fish fry around! Always worth getting. Also get the steamed vegetables as a side, delicious!

Good attentive service, food was really good. I had the pork tenderloin was amazing, cheese curds were just as amazing. Fresh cut potato chips were really good and my husband said the italian beef was awesome.

The food is absolutely amazing! I would have given 5 stars but the service is so hit or miss. If were lucky to get the ones who have been there for a while service is flawless! The new younger ones are more concerned about socializing, and not with her tables.

Service was awful. Food was mediocre at best. Baked potatoes were not fully cooked. We were going to send them back, but the service was so spotty that we didnt even consider taking the time. They were out of one thing we really enjoy - the cheesy potatoes. Boo. Other visits have been good. But tonight? Not their night. Hope they can live up to the write up in the paper.

I am here right now as I am writing. There is a group here and Jax was told about it weeks ago. The waitress is a complete failure. She screwed up one of our orders and everyone has eaten and she still hasn’t got her food. Finally told her to cancel her order. I asked for a box for half my wrap. She never brought it and than started to take my plate away. Told her no I want to take it and I want a box. They need to have experienced workers when there is. Group. We won’t be back for sure.

Great walleye dinner. Steam vegetables waffle fries good place to eat have a cocktail meet friends play slots or darts. Plus nice outside patio. Recommend.

Terrible service from a waitress with a bad attitude. Fish fry was not cooked fully when it eventually got to the table, neither was the second order when it finally got there. Waited 20 min for a box to take it home and cook it myself, then the waitress threw the check on the table on her way by. If you want decent fish, go get a fillet - o - fish; they will at least cook it. Needless to say, will NEVER eat here again.

This place is actually ridiculous. You can’t wear athletic shores on the weekend? Like good to know it’s that big of a deal when most of the people in there look like slobs. Never will go again just to waste my time because I have athletic shorts on!!!! Waste of time and if I could rate 0 stars I would no doubt!!

Even with the Covid-19 still looming, Jax has done a wonderful job serving its customers. They are operating on a slightly limited menu but the food is delicious and the wait staff is Very attentive. They have a covered outdoor dining area that is airy, but should keep the rains out.

Would highly recommend going on fridays and getting the Chessy Potatoes. They were very good and combo it with the crispy chicken sandwhich with buffalo sauce and swiss. Its kind of a clubby vibe so if your not into that look somewhere else. The food is really good and reasonably priced

This used to be one of my favorite places with really good food. Now, it has servers and managers that argue with customers and charge for food that was inedible. The charge was put on my card 2 days AFTER being there, I had to contact the bank to contest it. If you go there and use a credit card, check your statement. Rudeness and dishonesty are intolerable.

I went for drinks and dinner with a friend. They had some great drink specials. The atmosphere is fun. They have a good menu and the food was great. Service was wonderful. Great place to meet your friends!

Great pizza, for a bar in Rockford. Crappy liquor and beer selection, average prices. Plenty of jocks in t-shirts, hats, and similar tacky fan apparel, therefore I guess I shouldnt expect anything too stop shelf from this place. Thankfully the pizza is decent. Its not as good as going to a real pizza place in Rockford, but it would be hard to find better bar pizza in Rockford without instead drinking at a restaurant.

Ive been coming here for years... Always been a favorite of mine... Nice, clean, and lively... Never seen any major issues here... They tend to keep the riff-raft down to a minimum... Always a favorite....

We continue to try and give this place a shot. However, when they have managers that are barely old enough to drink and when you have some issues, they dont handle the complaint well. When a server walks out of the kitchen chomping on food, you tend to loose your appetite.

I sat at the bar. Its a nice sports bar, nothing special. I had the mango habanero wings: mostly mango and lacking any heat. I would not reccomend if you like hot wings.

Brittni B was our server and was amazing, very on top of taking care of her customers and moves with a purpose! Food was pretty good too but service is the reason for 5 stars! Will be back!!

Pretty good place with a good atmosphere. The only complaint that I have is that I had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to ask me if I needed another drink. Didnt have this problem when Tatiana was working.

We were really impressed with the food and the service we received this Sunday during our family lunch. We ordered as appetizers some wings and a big nacho platter with all the fixings. Everything came hot and fresh and way above average for bar food.Each one of us had ordered something different. The Rueben was amazing! Freshly shaved corn beef. My wife had the all you can eat Walleye fish filets which was huge portions, hand battered, fresh, very tasty.... We will be back to eat again it was that good! I want to try the hand battered pork tenderloin sandwich.They may have one of the most impressive beer menus in the ntire city of Rockford. Usually the craft beer lists all kinda look the same at all the local places. Not at JAXs! Game changer for me.... See ya again soon!

Dont patronize this business if you wish to play bingo and expect them to pay up if you win. In my opinion it is a very dishonest business.

For those who loves to go to a bar, that one looks clean and the staff looks like to be professional, I’ve never eat there but everything looks clean. It’s pretty busy on weekends.

If youre looking for a singles bar, look no further. They have a dj on Friday nights and various specials throughout the week.Ive never had a properly proportioned mixed drink from there, but their beer selection is not bad.

Like every restaurant very short staffed but had great service and very pleased.

Accused me of being on drugs when I tried to enter the bar because my pupils were “enlarged” out of town for work and never Been to this town and tried to have a beer. I work on cell phone towers and I was in the area and the bouncer was obviously way above his pay grade. Tried to be way to tough for his own good. Never will be back

This place sucks. It is packed loud and looking to take your money and kick you out for no reason, if you go here it should just be to watch the game for an hour. They have an incredibly easy & large ban list to end up on, especially if your not an everyday regular. Save your money and go somewhere better.

Raven was nice but didnt get fries till we were finished eating and they were barely warm! The pork tenderloin wasnt good! Nacho Grande was good!

We had my moms Surprise birthday party here and had a great time. One of the owners wife and the waitresses were phenomenal and So helpful we had an amazing time thank you.

Very dark but had potential to be open and bright. Beer list was printed on office paper stapled together and wrinkly and dirty. Didnt have mint for mojito & didnt have German beers.

This is the top spot in Rockford for my friends and I. Great food and good drinks at decent prices. Depending on the time you go it can be pretty packed and then service may not be the best. If you go at nonpeak time the staff is very friendly and social.

Food is usually good. Slot machines rarely hit bonus games. Dont expect to get food or drink service while your leaving hundreds of dollars in the machines!

Just stopped in to have a few cocktails.....waitress walked right by us twice and didn’t stop to greet us or get our order. We tried to get drinks from bartenders but they’re both messing around with glassware and not waiting on customers. Finally got up and left.....still thirsty...

Got the fried Walleye dinner and it was perfect. Not greasy, the right amount of breading, and the fish was done great.

Drinks are good, staff is friendly but the DJ is always hit or miss (imho). Decent place to go with friends, catering to a younger crowd.

Jax is literally the worst bar in the area. I swear My servers name i believe was Hannah and i have never dealt with a bigger idiot in all my life. no wonder the same place that hired this bone head for customer service made a whole lot of other mistakes!! STAY AWAY IF YOUR SMART!!

This place is probably the best popular bar in town. You can go dance and hangout with friends its pretty relaxed without the crowds you find down town.

Nice sized crowd for a saturday night. A pretty age diverse group. Good music, friendly bartenders, quick service, good drinks.

Service was only so so. The beer selection is only ok. There are only three options on tap that are not typical American draughts. I dont think Id go back here again.

Everything was good... but wanted traditional bone in wings but got boneless instead, was a take out, so we just settled.

Could use more low tables for us senior citizens.

Great bourbon wings! Burger was ok.....the great craft beer selection made up for it!
