I got my hair done at Salon Essentials at the end of June, and it was the worst experience.I went in and showed the stylist a picture of the cut and style I wanted, and I was shocked at the end of the appointment by how different it was from that. However, when I got home, I discovered she had styled my hair in a way that hid the fact that my face-framing pieces had been fried completely off! I was horrified. She did not speak up or say that these pieces had fallen out.My hair had some previous color in it when I arrived and the stylist knew this, so she did two test strips. She told me that the color lifted perfectly fine and we could go ahead with the highlights. I paid for the extra conditioning treatment, but my hair is still extremely brittle and dry.I called the salon to speak to a manager and/or the owner, and when I asked for a refund she informed me that it was against their policy, but I could come in to get my hair redone. I did NOT want them to touch my hair again. She told me I could email the salon at their Gmail and send them the pictures to review, which I did, and said to call the following Monday to speak to the owner. On Monday, their staff lied to me saying the owner wasnt in the office (she was), but said she would call me back if I left my number. That never happened.My hair fried off. I did not get my money back. I have to live with her mistake for months if not a year now. This was a terrible experience. Please know that if they respond to this review--what I’ve said is true and I will not be coming in to get my hair “fixed.”I have included pictures.

I. Love. This. Place. It smells wonderful, feels welcoming and looks very clean and professional, and the service is incredible. Ive been getting my nails done by John for over a year now, and seen Ava for hair cuts ever since my mom recommended me to her. John is very friendly and is willing to tackle new designs he hasnt tried before, and does really well each time! Hes extremely creative and its always a pleasure to see him and proudly wear what he comes up with.

I made an appointment for a wax with Nicole. This was my first time coming to this location. I called and told them I was lost and asked if they could tell me how to get there. The receptionist was incompetent because I told her where I was and she had to ask someone else, they told me to put Mead Lumber in. My GPS told me the wrong way. So I walked in at 7:14 and they said I missed my appointment. I explained I was on the phone trying to get directions and she said that was 10 min ago. Well ma’am if you had known your area a little better maybe I could’ve got there on time. Not to mention why not tell me about the window period. But furthermore, they said 15min.. I left the building at 7:15pm. So you’re incompetent of not only direction but time too. Got it. I personally wouldn’t recommend them.

I made an appointment online after a friend tried to cut my hair (super asymmetrical and multiple inches difference in length) because I needed some serious help to fix it.Jordan is a rockstar! My hair is cute, which i didnt know was possible at this length! I will absolutely be back. 10/10, something good came out of my hair disaster.

I got a gift card so I decided to try a new place. I specifically selected an experienced stylist. They switched me to someone new/inexperienced without my knowledge. Told the stylist that my hair was uneven. This was her fix (about 2 inches uneven- from front to back, see photos). The stylist didn’t offer a mirror at the end of the cut. Clearly this person doesn’t know how to cut a straight line and should not be cutting hair. When I went home and saw the mess, I called the salon and they offered to fix the following day (at first with someone that was also inexperienced)! I am not going back and going to my regular salon downtown. Had a massage there before (again using the gift card). Was terrible too. I’m confused because the reviews were all good but my two experiences there have been terrible. I blame the stylist and front desk for changing my appointment just to squeeze more people into their schedule. Never going back. This place is terrible.

I just experienced the best gel/Mani ever. Joy was meticulous and a great conversationalist too. The customer service was above and beyond.

I sought the aid of a skilled artisan after an amateur attempted to alter my locks, resulting in a drastic disparity in length and symmetry. My mane required expert attention to restore its former glory.

I had a massage with Monique and she was so professional she listened to my problem areas and did such and amazing massage her pressure is prefect, such a relaxing experience! Highly recommend Monique!

I had a really awkward experience having my hair done for a wedding this past summer. I should first note that I was not the paying customer; the bride and her family booked and paid for hair styling services for the bridal party. I really appreciated this as its nice to have professional hair styling for a formal event! Unfortunately most of us ended up feeling that we knew our hair better than the stylists did and felt like we needed to fix our hair.The bridesmaids had different hair textures but the stylists treated all our hair the same, which was ineffective as the curly-haired girls would get frizzy in the humidity and my thin hair wanted to wilt and lose all shape in the hours before the event. It seemed like there was a miscommunication on timing because I was told they planned for 45min per person, so the stylists were booked at the earlier available time; they ended up rushing through our styling and were done with hours to spare. The stylist also made a weird comment about my hair looking like a little-kid haircut (I have short bangs)??Overall not impressed with the quality or professionalism of services.

Ive been coming to Salon Essentials for 3 years and love it! Randee is the best esthetician and I always look forward to our monthly appts. She is easy to talk to and does an amazing job. Regan is my girl for hair and never misses. She has done everything from blonde to purple on my hair. I always feel like a million bucks after seeing them and appreciate these ladies so much!

Shoutout to John! He gave me exactly what I was hoping for in getting my nails done for my wedding! Thank you so much!

I had an appointment with Kash and definitely recommend her. I just wanted a chillac manicure and was very impressed with my nails afterwards. Very professional and will definitely be going back to see her if possible!

I highly recommend Erin for massages. She is very knowledgeable and she listens to my needs. My body feels mended after each appointment. Definitely the best massage Ive ever had. You come in feeling stressed, and you leave feeling relaxed.

It’s been a year since I had my last haircut and I cannot say enough good things about Lexi and the ladies at the front! Lexi was so kind and helpful and constantly checked in with me to see how I was liking my hair. She was easy to talk to and I absolutely love my hair! I would recommend her and the salon to anyone!

Never been to a salon or any of those things before in the 52 years of my life I decided to pamper myself a little and give it a try,,, I am so glad I did,, I started out with just a pedicure and a manicure for my 1st time,, Matti Was my specialist,, Im so glad I gave it a try and Matti Was the specialist I received she is a very wonderful young lady, She made the 1st time experience very enjoyable she has a very wonderful personality very easy to talk to,, She does extremely wonderful work!!! I have already booked another session with Matti in 3 weeks.. I am really looking forward towards my next appointment. As for the experience at a salon for the 1st time salon essentials made it very enjoyable and a very relaxing atmosphere,, Everyone was very friendly and made you feel welcome.. I definitely will continue using salon essentials services I have already booked a spa day for 3 weeks from now,, The next appointment I will be getting a pedicure an manicure with Matti again,, I am going also experience a facial and a 90 minute hot stone massage At my next appointment...

I had an LED light facial with Randee this morning and it was awesome! My skin feels so clean and looks amazing. Randee was also so fun to chat with and you can tell she’s passionate about her job. Highly recommend!

Every time I go here I have an amazing experience. I have gotten my nails done 4 or 5 times now, usually I have Matti but this last time I had Becca, and as usual they did a fantastic job! I love letting the nail tech choose my colors and designs and they never disappoint with their choices.

The only place I will go to have anything done. Ive been going here for years and I love how they make you feel welcomed and make you feel good leaving with their services.

My color lasted less than 2 weeks and I even paid extra for “the color to stay in longer” I obviously was ripped off. My cut was great, friendly stylist but will not be returning because I paid almost $200 (with tip) for a cut and color that didn’t even last 14 days. Sigh. I hate to leave reviews like this but would never want someone to save their hard earned money all to be let down.

Jordan did an amazing job on my son’s haircut. Seriously, it’s taken us forever to find someone who can handle his mess! She’s awesome. Highly recommend.

Lexi is awesome! Absolutely professional, fun to talk to and knows what shes doing! I went in with no idea what I wanted done to fix my hair and she knocked it out of the park! She went off of my skin tone and face shape and gave me an amazing look! If I ever get married again I would definitely go to her for my bridal hairstyle she curled my hair perfectly after coloring it balayage and I was floored. Love the environment of the establishment and I would recommend this place to everyone!The couples massage I received was very relaxing and the therapists we had were very considerate and professional.

We used salon essentials for hair and makeup for our wedding, and they did absolutely AMAZING! Absolutely recommend for any brides and for anyone looking for a new salon! The customer service was fantastic, very quick to respond and answer any questions that I had. I cannot brag enough on the great ladies that came to do our hair and makeup, everyone was so nice and fun to chat with while we were getting ready! we had 10 girls get hair and makeup and we all looked amazing. I personally had Mara do my makeup and Regan do my hair, and it was perfect. I even added another girl last minute and Mara came out half an hour early to make sure we got done on time! Thank you all for making getting ready for the wedding so stress free!!

I have been having Taylor do my lash extensions for quite sometime now and words cannot express how impressed every time with her! Not only is she fantastic but she is a kind person. I always love our conversations.

I usually dont post reviews, but this experience has been weighing on me. I got my hair styled for my cousins wedding about a month ago (I dont remember the name of the gal that did it). She provided the worst experience possible. She barely talked and when she did, it was to make rude comments about my hair. She needs to be more aware of the way she talks her to clients. For her, it was just one client interaction out of the day. For me, I have thought about the comments she has made and been self conscious about my hair every day since. I do not recommend this salon if they hire people that make their clients feel self conscious when they should be making their clients feel beautiful and empowered.

I saw Magen and she’s one of the only people I really am comfortable and confident doing my appointments! I highly recommend her for any of your esthetician needs! She does amazing and is so knowledgeable, she really wants the best for you!

I always go to Mara to get my brows and lashes done, and every times I love how they look! Ive also gotten my hair done by several of the girls and have loved the results from each one. They frequently do spa day specials, and I got a massage with a pedicure and felt AMAZING when I left! Salon Essentials is my go-to place and I recommend it to all of my friends!

Just want for a facial with Jasmine. I legitimately had no idea what I was getting into. No objective. Just self care.She took time to understand me. She guided me gently and I gave her complete control. In my experience sometimes people take advantage of me over this. Not her. She started me with a luxury feel with the basic package leaving me room to update and grow. Im completely in love with the experience and wanted to share.

I would have given them a 1, but the lady who did my husbands pedi did a great job. The first thing the lady said who was doing mine was, I just took a little rest, and Im really out of it. The second thing was,I really dont like doing these. I watched my husband get an amazing foot and leg massage while my lady rubbed the tops of my feet, and that was it. Not the couples experience I was expecting!

Been going here for years. This is a fairly new location. They moved from the strip mall behind dillons. Same owners. Beautiful shop. They let you know how long of a wait you can expect if you walk in and you dont have a long wait if you set an appointment. They prioritized their appointments, which, from what I hear is unusual for many of the salons in town.

I have been going to Salon Essentials for years for massage therapy and have never had a bad experience! Their therapists are professional and well trained. Soo relaxing too! Ive also been gifted with spa packages a few times and had wonderful experiences with their facials and nail services as well.I also.haf an formal style done there once and the girl did amazing with my super thick hair.Go see - John for your nail needs - soo sad he doesnt work Saturdays anymore. Go see Mara for skincare - adorable, professional, and sweet. And Angelica, Erika or Erin for massage!!

Everyone here is a skilled professional. The front desk folks can help you find the right stylist for your needs.Hair: Tiana cut and colored my hair = fabulous. Also, when my kiddo had a color misfortune at home (ahem, bad bleach and box color experiment), TWO other stylists helped correct the catastrophe (one for color, one for the cut) on short notice.Massage: Yes. Always had a positive experienceNails and eyebrow waxing: always a good jobAtmosphere: relaxing. No pressure. Easy conversations, if you want. No TVs, thankfully.Ive tried several other salons in MHK (b/c you know, sometimes its fun to try someplace new). I ALWAYS come back to Salon Essentials. Give it a try!

Lexi is absolutely fantastic! She is great with curly hair (my curl type ranges from 3a-3c) and has been SO helpful in helping me find the style I was looking for; even when I was doing an awful job of describing it 😅 she figured it out perfectly!She is also wonderfully friendly. I had my first Brazilian sugaring with Jasmine and she was amazing! She made me feel super comfortable and talked me through everything! The whole experience was great and went better than expected. The salon is beautiful, clean, and always welcoming. I highly recommend Salon Essentials and Jasmine for any sugaring or waxing!

I would not go here to get your nails done. I have had my nails done many times in my life. The girl that did them filed is hard on my nail it cut my nail and is bright red we’ll this was three weeks ago and I had to get them removed they hurt so bad and it’s still cut in my nail and barely touching anything hurts and sends a shooting pain. On top of me pulling back and saying hey that hurts she was very rude and was just trying to hurry. There was globs of acrylic and bubbles if it everywhere. But it’s been three weeks and and my nails still hurt.

The best day spa in town! You can easily spend time and money here on a facial, massage, pedicure, manicure, haircut, and more.

My massage with Erin was outstanding. She is the best massage therapist I have ever had. She focuses on my problem areas first and gives me stretching advice to help keep them from coming back as quickly. She is kind of hard to get in with, because she is always booked up, so you have to plan ahead.

I was able to get on the schedule for a cut and color the same day I called! I was fully expecting to have to schedule for the following week with how busy the salon usually is, so that was exciting.Making my appointment was quick and easy and the receptionist was super sweet over the phone.The salon was clean and orderly. The decor is absolutely beautiful and I loved the atmosphere of the salon!I was greeted promptly and check in was quick and easy.Jordan was my stylist! I absolutely adored her! We got to spend a couple hours together talking about life and our kiddos and she made it fun and kept good conversation while working.She was very informative and helpful in my consultation and listened to what I wanted.She was quick to foil my hair, and trust me when I say, I have A LOT of hair, so that was impressive. She made sure to go over new products with me, only upon request and didn’t seem like a pushy sales person, which was refreshing!Jordan made sure to tell me what she was doing and was prompt to return when she needed to walk away (rinse bowls, toner bottle, etc.) She stayed late to complete my service, and when I told her I felt bad it was after 8 she was super sweet about it and never made me feel like an inconvenience!She completed my service and helped me pick out the products I needed with knowledgeable advice and then walked me to the check out! she was with me start to finish! From there on out I was a Jordan client! I will absolutely be making a follow up with her in 6-8 week!Oh yeah, and I LOVE MY HAIR! Thanks Jordan!

Ive had 2 massages here by Hannah and Elizabeth. Both were amazing. They listen to what you need and adjust during the session to really get to whats bugging you. Both were deep tissue and the pressure was perfect, pin pointing the toughest spots. Will definitely be coming back!

Ive been to Salon Essentials for a little bit of everything and Ive never once left disappointed! All of their staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. The prices are more than reasonable and they offer so many different services, you could quite literally spend your entire day there if you would like. I HIGHLY recommend booking your next self care session with them!

I used to go here all the time and always had a great experience. Recently I went in for volume lash extensions and they were very sparse and short and had horrible retention so I told them and they said they would re-do them for free which is great. I normally get them done somewhere else but I needed to get them done sooner than I was able to get in so I thought I would try Salon Essentials. I really hate complaining but I cry when I see myself without extensions on because I have a mild version of Alopecia and I feel so ugly sometimes because of it. Somehow I missed the appointment and I called to let them know I forgot and I wouldnt be there and they said they would reschedule it which is very nice of them to do. I was really nervous about making her feel awkward though and I felt bad for missing the appointment. I suddenly became ill a few days ago and I have alopecia so my eyelashes are starting to thin out and its making me nervous so I call in the morning of my appointment right after I wake up and told them I want to cancel and Im feeling ill. She puts me on hold for awhile then when she comes back she says that I did this a couple times and I only gave them 3 hours notice so they are making a note on my account that if I want to schedule anything further I need to put down a credit card. Her tone seemed very rude like she was scorning me. I get it, its an inconvenience but it was a free appointment so shes not losing any money shes just getting an opening or a break. I thought I would be doing her a favor by not making her feel awkward and having to re-do her work. So maybe I shouldnt have but I asked if thats their normal policy and she said have a nice day and hung up on me. I feel hurt by this experience. I dont think you should talk to someone like that for cancelling a free appointment or any appointment.

My hubby and I went in for our very first professional massages. We got the Swedish couples massage for 60 minutes. We had Hannah and Erin. Both did outstanding jobs on us. We loved the heated bed and the hot towel finish! They focused on our key points of pain areas and we feel so relaxed. I highly recommend this beautiful salon and spa. Music was relaxing and I almost fell asleep. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Already booked again for next month at this lovely establishment! Thanks so much ladies!

Sierra is amazing - Highly Recommend! I absolutely adored how she did my hair!I do NOT recommend getting your lashes done here though. (I got these done by a different associate) The lashes were cheap, itched, my eyes were glued together, and fell out within a week.

Excellent place! Me and my sister went for our eyebrow appointment and were treated so well by Alexa, she did an excellent job! She has us as customers for life! Cant wait for my b-day to get the spa package and my hair done!

I started going here about 5 months ago and it was the best decision. I get my eyebrows done by Annie who is amazing for sure. When I first went there I told her I needed her to completely shape my eyebrows and they have never be so on point.She gets the job done and more!Thank you so much Annie.

Had many services by different people. Overall I had a great experience. Montana is an amazing waxer and very professional. My facial was amazing and hydrating, my massage was relaxing and the right pressure. My only criticism is my pedicure, I didnt get a deep scrub on my feet to remove dead skin nor did they clean under my toe nails.

I went to Elaine for a Brazilian and OMG she is amazing!! So knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable. Ive always shied away from brazilians as Im afraid itll be too painful or just an awkward experience. But Elainie gets all 5 stars, she made it a great experience!! Her technique was painless, and put me right at ease. Thank you so much!

Amazing work!! First time getting a Brazilian at Salon Essentials, the atmosphere was very friendly and clean! The woman who gave me my wax was named Anne, AMAZING work! Very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Very little pain, kept me distracted by engaging in conversation. I would most definitely recommend this place for a wax. I will be going on a regular basis!

Cassie at Salon Essentials did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and she did an excellent job! We had a trial several weeks before, and she took extra care to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted and even gave me options by trying several different ways of getting there. The team at Salon Essentials is friendly and efficient, and Im very happy I trusted them with my hair and makeup on my big day!

Everything about this salon is top flight. The ladies at reception are so polite and friendly, and they work magic with scheduling. Tiana, Casey, Kash, and Magen are absolute rock stars. They go above and beyond with everything they do. Best hair, nails, and skin care Ive ever had. They are more than just stylists and technicians...they are artists. Came in for an acne facial and it was the worst facial experience I’ve ever had. From the beginning I felt as if I was in an infomercial about the products before they were even used on my skin. Fast forward to the actual treatment. I experienced a BURNING sensation from the mask used. This has never happened to me before. It had to be removed immediately. There were almost no extractions done either. I can literally see the pimples that I came in with. My skin felt so tight and dry prior to the extraction process and a spray was used I guess to provide moisture. It was awful. I left with my skin feeling super oily bc of sunscreen and that’s it. I will never get a facial at salon essentials in manhattan again.

They are polite as soon as you walk through the door. Shelby did my nails and she was so great I returned.

Came in for a wash and cut. I had to wait almost 30 minutes but received a complimentary hair mask which was nice. Jill was great and listened to my needs/concerns. The salon is very nice and the staff were attentive and helpful.

My mom and I got facials today and Elainie and Berit did an amazing job! They were very friendly and we left with glowy, dewy skin. Thank you!

I recieved what seemed like a good haircut until i got home and got a better look at it. The woman that cut my hair has no idea how to blend and it looks like she just cut a semi straight line accroae the side of my head. I will not recommend or do business with this company again.

I go there every few weeks to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted by Annie McBee. She does an amazing job with listening to the shape and color tint you want instead of just doing what is expected or normal (the reason I tried somewhere new). I have never been so satisfied with an eyebrow job and recommend going to Annie at Salon Essentials to anyone that is in need of any kind of eyebrow work done!

Finding a new hair salon is my least favorite part of PCSing. But this salon always a wonderful surprise! LOVE that the owners are there to check you in for your appointment and keep things running smoothly! My stylist was great and gave me a welcome bag with coupons! Will definitely be back!

I booked graduation appointments almost three months ago. Then got three confusing phone calls asking me to change our times which was not possible with lunch and other plans. Then I called two days before our appointments to reconfirm and was assured everything was right. Then we arrive and our appointments were not correct. We did not get to have our pedicures together. When I discreetly talked to the front desk staff they told me it was the salon techs fault. No, it was the front desk and the manager. It was a very disappointing as this was a big part of our day. So I sat and watched and my nieces felt bad. They offered me a small bag worth of products worth about $15 but they should have offered to comp the pedicures or a gift certificate. We will not go back. Dont blame your staff for mistakes made at the front desk and by management. Not handled well. The salon techs did a lovely job.

Just had an amazing massage with Christie! She perfectly adjusted pressure when I needed, made me feel incredibly comfortable, and when she found a problem area, she focused on it. Will absolutely be coming back.

I got a haircut from Hailey yesterday. Just a simple maintenance cut after several months of neglect on my part, but she treated it with just as much attention and care as any complicated cut, color, highlight, updo combo you can think of. She listened to my requests all the way through.Also, Im not sure if this is a salon-wide thing or just her, but when she shampooed my hair, she gave me a full on head massage. Super relaxing and an unexpected bonus.The facilities are very nice and pricing here is also pretty reasonable. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Overall, I would definitely recommend this salon.

The wax and eye lash specialist (Annie) is FANTASTIC! She is very sweet and knows her stuff. She uses both types of wax (hard and soft). And makes it the least painful as possible.Also her eyelash skills are FIRE! She doesn’t just do basic cookie cutter extensions (though she can if you want) but she asks questions to customize and you leave with that perfect look! I recommend getting the Lip Mask while relaxing during you lash appointment.

Shae is the best! I wont go to anyone but her. My hair always look awesome when she does it and she knows what will look good and what will look funky and not right on me. She is always so friendly and helpful and most of the time I just let her do what she wants with my hair because what she does is always better than what I could think of! If you have any doubts about getting your hair done, go to Shae. She will listen to you and work with you for the best possible outcome and you wont regret it!

Ask for Lauren, she is amazing! Shes been cutting my hair for a couple months now and does a better job than any salon/hair place Ive ever been to. She knows her stuff and is very friendly! I dont think Ill ever use anyone else ever again!

They are so friendly and helpful. I have Laura do my hair and she gives me tips and explains what shes doing when I ask. She also works until I am happy with the final product, even if it takes a little longer. Clean, comfortable, wonderful!

I always go to Magen for waxing. She is amazing at what she does it always comes out perfect. She has a great attitude and creates a great environment where you feel relaxed and welcome.

The nail polish they use is very low quality - still sticky to the touch on my nails after 2 hours. The manicure was good, aside from the polish quality, but the pedicure was the worst I’ve ever had. The salon tech who did my pedi (H) was so tentative, my very hard nails didn’t really get filed properly; she didn’t do anything to my cuticles & only clipped one nail after I requested it (I’d asked her to make them all as short as possible). The end result of the polish was so bumpy once I saw it in the sunlight , I came back in & asked to have it redone. Other techs seemed to be very skilled but H just wasn’t - do not book a pedi with her.

Love love love this salon! Jasmin is a great esthetician. Shes very thorough in her process and talks you through everything; I go to her for waxes and am never disappointed. Buffy and Shelby kill the nail game.

Kady Mae is amazing! She really listened to what I wanted, and she was able to correct my cut and color that my previous stylist had really messed up. Shes very knowledgeable about color, stylish cuts, products, etc. The salon is very relaxing and professional, and offers a full spa experience. So happy to have found such a great stylist in a a great place!

Emily is phenomenal if your looking for schelac nails! Love her! Great conversationalist!

Had a very relaxing visit. Enjoyed an hour in massage. Then over for a facial. Then nice pedi. All very relaxing. If only the lady doing my mani hadnt been in such a rush. It would have been a perfect little break from all the craziness.

I have been going to Rachel for 2 years now and she is great. She always listens to what I request and does a great job. I have always loved my highlights and haircuts. I would definitely recommend her or anyone from this salon.

I personally won’t ever go back to this salon the girl I got ( don’t remember her name she’s all the way in the back) did an ok job she didn’t really talk it was very small talk like one word answers every time I tried talking to her I didn’t feel like she cared much she didn’t do my hair how I wanted she said she toned it but when she took me back to the chair my hair looked exactly like it did when I walked in I asked her if we can go darker she took me back to the wash station and toned it again but my hair kept looking the same like it wasn’t getting much darker and what really made me upset Is the stylist wasn’t talking me threw the process I had to keep asking what was next and what we where doing to my hair . I agreed to how a deep conditioning she said it would last a month even if I wash my hair and it hasn’t lasted I washed my hair about 4 days after and my hair felt gummy and fried so I feel it didn’t last . I feel like I wasted a bunch of money due to my hair color looking exactly the same And the texture of my hair felt worst after that treatment she gave

On a Wednesday I made a hair appointment for myself and my 2 daughters for Saturday...we had an event on Sunday. The receptionist gave us the time of 4:00p on Saturday for all 3 of us. Once that date came around...THEY said they made a mistake and scheduled it for Friday...now Saturday was all booked. No real apology we were just out of luck...then it was too late to get scheduled somewhere else. Very disappointed in this business.

Mara is an eyebrow goddess lol and Tiana knows her hair coloring! Been going to salon essentials for years for eyebrow threading and today was my first time having my colored at the salon. They know their stuff 👏👏 highly recommend

Mara is always pleasant and greets you with a smile(even witha mask on)! She shapes my eyebrows perfectly! She is very professional and keeps her work station very clean! I have gone to her at least 5 times and will continue to go back!

ALLY B’s review from 2 months ago is SPOT ON. She was 200% telling the truth. I asked for face framing layers and long in the back. I asked for the ends to be left alone because I’m still growing my hair as well as my bangs. First thing she does is cut split ends into my hair giving my bottom layer choppy ends WHICH I HATE. THEN she cut some of my bangs off. I kept showing her the picture and asking her how my increasingly choppy hair looks ANYTHING like the picture below. She made some excuse and then curled my hair, when I never asked for “beach waves”. I could go on but all I have to say is don’t get your hair cut by the 21 yr old blonde because she won’t listen to you. At least they didn’t charge me and did offer to fix it but I honestly won’t because my hair is now 4 inches shorter and choppy and as the blonde said “it’ll grow out”. It’s sad 10 years ago they gave me a wonderful cut that gave me perfect bangs and a cut that made me look like Anne Hathaway from devil wears Prada. So disappointed, this used to be the best salon…

I went to get a Brazilian wax with Tabatha and it was just amazing! She is so good at what she does. I’m from South America and since l moved here l have been looking for a real Brazilian wax and I’m so glad l found Tabatha. Definitely recommend her for waxing!

Walked in with something that wasn’t even that bad. Left with magenta/red/brown/orange hair instead of pink. The consultation clearly wasn’t deep enough because I left with my hair looking worse than it did when I walked in. The color is horrible. Insanely patchy and the stylist took me to the front to pay for my service with still damp hair. The manager took off only $20 from my service, extremely extremely unhappy. Would not recommend to anyone who wants to change their hair color.

I came in 2 years ago, with my sister for eyebrow waxing, and that was a terrible experience, I thought maybe after 2 years theyd have better service and more knowledgeable staff. I was wrong.When I went in for a haircut I had a terrible lightening job from from somewhere else and I decided to cut my losses and start fresh with a cute pixie cut. I showed the stylist a picture and told him what I wanted : same length all around like Audrey Hepburn style. What he gave me was an old lady short hair cut, where its long on top and shorter on the sides. He left me uneven at the nape of my neck ( which I couldnt see until my husband told me). The long top style is kind of trendy so I paid and I left thinking to myself maybe I didnt explain myself correctly.I went back for a trim told him again, same length all the way around and fade the back to blend. What he gave me was a little boys haircut. AND ITS STILL NOT THE SAME LENGTH ALL THE WAY AROUND. The top is long, and my sides are basically buzzed. I wasnt going to leave a review but my friend has a similar experience where the guy just does whatever he wants to your hair, or has no knowledge of how to do what you ask.

Oh it was horrible! My two previous estheticians were great, todays Brazilian was so painful I wont be going back to salon essentials and will have to think hard about not doing the maintenance myself. The technique was so bad I have a hard time believing that she has any training at all. I left half way through because I thought I was going to throw up. I still had wax on me. Crohns disease, childbirth x 2 and chronic kidneys stones and the most painful thing I have gone through in awhile turned out to be something I made an appointment for!

Found the place on Google. Would not kniw this existed. The location is a bit hidden but the inside of the salon is gorgeous. The stylists are friendly and ask a lot of questions to make sure you’re getting the haircut you want. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great salon in Manhattan.

My daughter asked for a shoulder length cut but instead recieved a bob that didnt even reach her chin. Unsatisfied with this hair cut. No apology was offered for the mistake that was made. My other daughter went with her and the layers she received were not well done at all. The ends of her hair were all over the place .

Super nice people but I asked for a simple one inch trim and i left with the same amount of spilt ends as I came with. The lady was super nice but didn’t take a lot of time to cut my hair at all.

Pedicures and my haircut was great, my daughters haircut not so much. Ended up going to a barbershop to try and fix her cut that was supposed to have been a pixie cut, but was butchered.
