I used to love coming to Footy Rooty. I would recommend this place to family and friends, but it has definitely changed. The gentleman who gave the massages were excellent. Our issue is with the long red hair lady in the front, she’s extremely pushy, loud and doesn’t let us enjoy the massage. Asking for tip, pointing to the sign even before the service. She totally killed our vibes and made us uncomfortable. Not a happy or relaxing place. That lady needs to go asap. Call them owners up asap in California cause she’s ruining this establishment.

My last experience here was horrible. I asked for the swedish massage and the man left me bruises and literally was ripping me off the table and thrown back down multiple times 🥲. Couldnt communicate with him that it was hurting. Most painful experience ever and thats because I tipped before. Lesson learned. Back was in pain even more after and any time someone would hug me it hurt so much.

Horrible experience. I was expecting to be able to relax. I wasn’t asked if I wanted Eastern or Swedish and somehow ended up with Eastern which is definitely not relaxing. It was painful. Left me sore and hurting from the moment I left into the next few days. What was supposed to be a nice relaxing experience for me ended up just being the worst.

Best price for a massage! You feel so good with their massages

At first I was nervous cause it was my first time there but once in the room got a lady by the name of Lucy. Really nice lady made the environment so comfortable the only lil issue I had was her communication I believe she was Vietnamese which was ok but there was lil things we didnt understand each other on but it was alright after showing her she understood. I honestly say if u need some relaxing time and quick service come to this place the Location is awesome cause u can have coffee or eating a sandwich or pizza right when you walk out the building. I would recommend this place to friends and family it was simple and cute

BEWARE OF THE PUSHY LADY UPFRONT THAT ASSIGNS THE MASSAGE PERSON TO YOUShe will aggressively push for you to tip. Apparently, the owner doesnt pay them well so, they rely on tips and this lady yelled and screamed in a loud voice at the person that gave me a massage about the tip that I wouldn’t leave on the credit card. In the past, I was told by the person who had massaged me not to tell the lady in the front that I gave her a cash tip.So, on this visit, I gave the tip to the person who had massaged me. But, when the lady upfront asked about leaving a tip, I said that I didnt want to. All of a sudden her attitude changed and she demanded to know why? Was I not happy with the massage? I said it was good. “Why no tip?” Then she started yelling at the person that had provided the massage.To top it off, they have a ridiculous sign at the reception counter suggesting that 35% is a good tip amount.So, give your tips directly to the person doing the massage, and dont be bullied by this lady/manager. The owner is somewhere out of the Valley, CA it seems.What a terrible experience and how unfair to the folks that do the massage.

I like being able to drop in without an appointment. The foot massage is actually way more than just feet. It includes whole body massage with clothes on. Really helps get the kinks out for a great price!

I came to get a massage and the lady that helped me was so inexperienced. It seemed like she did not know what she was doing - nothing was done to my back other than rubbing with lotion. She did not know how to give a proper massage. I read good reviews of this place but I guess its a hit or miss with who you get. Also, the lady in charge of the place will try and force you to give tip she tells you (she told me $10). Its supposed to be a % and how good you enjoyed the service. I still gave a good tip bc I felt bad and do not usually complain if I dont like the place. I just dont ever go there again. I suggest the plaza mall if you ever need a good back massage.

Well what can I say, you get what you pay for. I went about 2weeks ago and got a full body massage, everything went great as expect. But as soon as I was done with my massage I went to the bathroom and when I was leaving, the room where I got my massage had the door open, lights out, and blanket they use to cover me folded neatly at the end of the bed. There is no way within 2 minutes of exiting the bathroom the bed sheets were changed out. I felt disgusting. Omg I was just in disbelief. So disappointed. 😔b

Great massage, very clean!

I went in for an Eastern Massage and it was amazing. No appointment necessary, for 1 hour i was in a private room (clothes were off except for under garments) with relaxing music. All this for only $50 tip included. I was very happy with my service and would recommend everyone to visit!

This place forces people to give tips and that is WRONG! They did. Not allow me to pay for the services before I went in and at the end of my service, some older woman in charge started getting after the worker who was working on me as if she was telling him to not give me more time, and then she got my shoes and threw them on the floor hurrying me to leave even though in needed time to recover. When it was time to pay they way it’s set up, the client forcefully has to pay a tip! The machine does not show an option of NO tip to proceed with my payment . This was the Nolana location, and at the Sharyland location it was worst! Some Asian man demanded a tip although I was not happy with his service and he didn’t I want to let me leave. I felt like calling the police because he did not want me to leave without a tip even through I had laid for my service. Be careful if you go to FOOTY ROOTY where they will forcefully make people trip them regardless of whether the client is happy or not.

I recommend this place to everyone that tells me their back hurts. Footy Rooty is awesome because they do all these weird little tricks that make the massage great. They push on your head and pull your arms and legs. Theyre very good about getting all the little pressure points on your face and head. I love it here and I think the prices are pretty good.

My sister and I went in for a massage. She picked full body massage and I picked back only. The back only is 10.00 more than the full. When we were done, the lady up front made my sister pay for the more expensive back massage. Then wanted her to tip the person that gave my sister a massage another 20 % on top of that. She actually took the sign pad out out of my sisters hands and tried to input the tip. To no avail. Because my sister took it back and did what she had to do. The guy got a 10.00 tip. Which was still 10 bucks more than she had to pay. Same thing happened to me. But, I actually pushed for the 20 %. Beware ofthat pushy lady up front.

Feeling a little sore from my morning walk, I decided to get a massage. Its was one of the best massages I have received in a long time. The massuss was tough on those back knots, but easy on the sore legs. All the personal were very friendly, and the price was 60 bucks for a hour and half. If you are in need of a massage try it. You wont be disappointed.

If you want a foot rub, this is the place for you. If you want your feet rubbed until they are raw, this is definitely the place for you. Some time ago, I had the best foot massage at this location. It was an actual massage that targeted all of the sore spots on my feet. It was thorough and relaxing and amazing. I’ve returned many times hoping it would be repeated by someone...anyone...I have been disappointed each time. I’ve finally convinced myself that although the “massage therapists” are well meaning, they are not massage therapists. Not sure if they are licensed or have any kind of formal education. From their “massages”, it doesn’t seem like it.

Receptionist was informative but my masseuse did not understand me. I have a health issue and I cant lay on my head all the way. I started to get sick and she pushed me down and said it was okay. I didnt want to make a scene so I just started to try and relax but the whole time I was uncomfortable. I did get stress relief benefits on my legs from the body massage so that was a plus but I was concentrating on not getting sick the whole relaxing atmosphere ruined it for me. I didnt complain to manager because I felt they wouldnt understand anyway. Maybe I chose a bad location. I still gave a good tip because Im not cheap but, I will certainly not come back here.

I came in at 5:30pm—- and before I got a chance to sit down Anna called me in—- showed me to my Massage Bed- and the Rest was History….This was the Best Hour I had in a long time— Anna was very Professional and Massaged My Feet, Legs, and Back- I felt so Relaxed, and Peaceful- I even took a Nap- before I knew it - it was time to get back to the real world—-I will definitely be back next week — with Anna.Thank You. Ive been to several locations. This one seems to always have that one lady that, summons you in lol. There are pros and cons to everything. The massages are decent for the price, every therapist has their own style though so it comes down to preference. They are licensed massage therapists, they are mostly from China on a work visa here. The work visa expires differently for everyone. That goes to say dont get attached to a therapist, if you like the way a therapist performs the massage get their name asap when you pay that is. When you go back ask to see if that therapist is there, dont be surprised if they arent there any more or they are already busy since its walk in only. At this location sometimes its hard to enjoy any massage since the summoner lady will be screaming her guts out at employees. Eventhough you booked the longest most expensive massage, they dont care they will be arguing all while your massage is going on. They dont care much about the quality of the massage either, once its time to pay its time to pay with a handsome TIP if not the summoner will call you out on it. I saw her get after someone for only giving $15.00 for a 90 minute deep tissue massage, I gave a $25.00 tip she didnt even smile, but didnt get after me either lol. The therapist dont understand a lick of English lol. Good luck telling them what areas to focus on 🤷‍♂️. Also since I mentioned they are from China, and are here only for a time to work. They dont care that you cant understand them, they will talk and be laughing all around you eventhough you cant understand what they are saying. If you are a male, and you get a 90 minute massage from a female in a private room be prepared to receive some dirty looks when you get out of the room from the male therapists. I imagine some of those women come over with their spouses, fathers etc. Sometimes they will tell you they are going to send a female in, and tada a man with a nice hairy chest shows up, just signal him to the door 🤦‍♂️. The summoner will then come in and act like you didnt ask her for a female lol. Sometimes you will request a certain female, and they will say she is available only to find your massage is being started by another female therapist you have never met before. Anyways, if you get a private room massage with a female especially a 90 minute massage, and you are a male client be prepared for those dirty looks from the male therapists when you get out of the room. They want to make sure you didnt get a little extra stinker stinker 😳😳 🤣🤣🤣. Although all the massage therapist I have met throughout the years have all been professional therapists, not offering anything other than the massage, and only the massage.

Highly recommend visiting here.. Wife and I did the 1 hour body massage with Melissa and Kevin and they work very well with it. Works on the specific areas and overall was great.

My first experience last year was ok and I realized that due to language barrier, I needed to communicate more emphatically and ask if what I was communicating in what I needed worked on was understood. Voila! Had an amazing 2nd visit, highly recommended! Cant beat the value $60 for 90 minutes of deep tissue work including reflexology.

I’ve been getting massage at Footy Rooty for about 2 years in different locations between Harlingen and Mcallen. Despite to believe that they have some good therapists, I really believe too that some doesn’t have a license or a real instruction here in USA. The comunicación is difficult because the manager and therapists doesn’t speak English or Spanish (the more spoken languages at the Valley) which is a big trouble in the process because you have not tools to express if the therapist is doing too hard or too soft the pressure point. Today (7/14/19)I came at Mcallen (Nolana) location and called to set up my appointment with the same therapists I got the last session because he did a great job in my back. The girl at the phone told me that they were working at walk in system and if I weren’t on time I had to get any other therapists available. I got on time ! and the manager (Chinesse Lady) directed me to the private room and told me: “face up”! and left the room. I got ready and noticed that the towels at the bed was looking used (like didn’t changed from the previous client) when the terapist came, I asked him pointing the towels : is clean?? and He said: Is new! But because the therapists was an old (Chinesse) man I didn’t want to disappoint him. I tried to ask him, why I have not the therapists that I requested at the phone” but he didn’t understand and one more time I was patient and respectful and stay quiet to try this new “therapist”that I didn’t request. I try to explain the areas with pain and discomfort (mostly the lower back, gluts, piriformis and hip) and he didn’t work on that areas at all. At the end of the session I had to ask him: what about my back? And then he dedicate a couple minuts to do pressure at that area. (He didn’t a nice relaxing massage but not what I needed). I expressed all my complaints to the girl at the front desk and she said that they changed the therapist because the other that I requested was in other location doing massage but they didn’t informed to me until I noticed at the therapy room. It is really disrespectful and unprofessional , I called about 1:30 pm to fix an appointment at 4:00 pm and they never told me about the change. I hope to have a better experience for the next time!

I suppose each massage is therapist dependent. However, I was expecting a tradiontial Swedish or deep tissue massage. This was not the case. If you do not have that expectation it can be a relaxing experience. Just try with an open mind.

My First time it was nice. I got a Eastern massage uff they really beat you up!For sure gonna get Swedish next time.Also be prepared to pay tip!

Good to great massages here, depending on the massage therapist. Definitely get the deluxe with foot soak + massage in the chair section. You can book a full body massage in a private room. This is a professional place and I recommend it.

I wasnt offered weather i wanted Male or female, a guy showed up when a lady took me back which confused me. Then i ask for a lady they send in an over sized newbie that basically was still learning and the worst thing i think she just finished because her hands had an odor, but i dont recommend the evening night hours never been in the day time maybe better service different people.Very bad experience idk how imma wake up now.

I was looking forward all week for a great massage..The lady I got looked like she was strong but she did not put any effort in the massage..She was coughing and yawning the whole time..I am soooo very disappointed...

Not anywhere near as nice as Brownsville location. No privacy, music not as good. Blown speaker made it as relaxing as getting your teeth drilled. Love footy rooty, but not this one.

Cant beat the price. 1hr eastern massage for $40 (not including tip). Other places charge almost double for same service.

I told the lady up front to focus on neck n shoulders. I told the lady that summons you in. I expressed to the masseur to focus on neck and shoulders. What did I get? Everything but neck and shoulders. Shen the lady at the countered asked if everything went ok. I said no, I told you and everyone in here to focus on neck and shoulder. This is a hit and miss place with therapist.

Just called this location to get general information and explained I was a new customer. The receptionist was so passive aggressive, interrupted me and was overall just rude. It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to trying this place out but I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

The massage was great what wasnt nice was to find out at the end that they have rats that make a loud noise running on the drop ceiling. It was stressful to think that at any moment the drop ceiling could collapse.

Purchased a gift card for a friend and she had the worst experience. Thry couldnt find information on the gift card. Had to send her a picture of the receipt. She said she wouldnt ever go back. I will never go back to purchase a gift card card much less go for myself.

Dont even think about giving yourself a massage with the short bald Chinese man, Ive had pain all over my body for 3 days, he doesnt know what hes doing to the point of causing injuries. I will never go to that place again in my life nor would I recommend it to anyone. Im sorry but its my truth. The woman at the reception, a redhead, wants more tip and demands it tooth and nail in addition to what is given to the masseuse. Terrible place in every sense DO NOT VALEN…

Its very good, my husband loves it, the price is very affordable. They do an excellent job. It is clean. The wait is very short, at least when we go we pass right away. The attention is excellent. I highly recommend it, it de-stresses you and removes muscle tension, you leave very relaxed.
