We have been here a couple of times before with friends and always had a good time. It is a popular spot for many locals. They have decent bar food and drinks. The bartender is fun and makes a good drink. The ambiance is casual with a hipster vibe. They have 2 bars: one indoors and the other is outdoors. Choose for your mood. Both places are nice. The night we went, it wasnt busy at all, and we didnt feel like staying. It was the last stop of the evening, and we were tired by then. But we liked what we saw and will go again in the near future. There is a small parking lot in the back for free. If it is full, then you can park in the small strip next to the Anderson.

Went here for lunch after a friends grandsons bar Mitzvah. A Mexican restaurant where the reception was outside on their patio. For hors doeuvre, they served hummus and guacamole with chips and vegetables. For lunch, it was a buffet with Caesar salad, a taco bar with beef, chicken , mushrooms, corn, and black beans.Left early, not for us.

Ive been going here since it was Magnum piano bar years ago. Now its the Anderson and this place has expanded their outdoor space and they also has food trucks. The indoor venue was also modernized but they kep the original bar which is nostalgic.I love the different sections outside. Also they have a taco and pizza vendor that serves delicious food. I like the tacos from El Toro. Good quality and always made to order. I normally eat them inside The Shack which is a bar in a little hut outside. The drinks their are really good and the bartdender is super friendly. This is a great place to hangout with your friends. Check their website for the live performances. They do have good bands playing inside the lounge.

Love the Anderson. I had visited my first time to Miami with a family friend & didnt remember the name, then when I visited recently I sought this place out based on Google maps vibes & when I got there realized it was the same place I had fallen in love with. I love all the spaces, especially the outdoor areas. The drinks are great, the staff are cool. Definitely a good time especially when theres a live dj.

Reviewing El Toro Taco Bar. First of all, that “valet” when the place is empty is entirely unnecessary. The parking is literally right next to it. A friend invited us here for BBQ, but there was only the taco place open. The guacamole was bland. The queso fundido was crazy chewy; I couldn’t even bite it. So I didn’t order the tacos, but my friend did, and she didn’t like them. Also, she mentioned that the margarita won an award in some competition, so we all ordered it, but it was an average margarita. The staff was friendly.

Update: i always have a great time here. Sunday afternoons they play some fun EDM and there was a live sax player when we went. There were happy hour drinks that were made well and tacos that were delicious and fit in perfectly with the fun vibe. Highly recommend the chicken tacos, the shrimp tacos, and the guac! Guac came with these fried chips that tasted like they were made in house. So thick and crunchy, delicious!Cons: parking is not so fun. Sometimes they have $5 valet but this past sunday they did not. We ended up having to ask a bartender where we could park. She was very sweet and let us know which cars we could block based on what she knew about them (regulars who tend to stay late, or staff).2018: Love this bars vibe. They have both indoor and outdoor areas. It was dead when we went but we still had a good time. The craft cocktails are made well, and the fried rice was excellent! We would come back for the fried rice alone.

This may not be the most complete review, as I have only been here for their Duck, Duck, Goose (trois) event. However, if I had to give a recommendation based on this event, I would suggest you go there every weekend. The event was a celebration of all things duck, goose, and some pork. From drinks with bacon, to duck filled Nigri with roasted foie gras on top. The venue boasted an excellent outdoor area with music and much needed fans, from where you could watch the culinary delights being created and plated in exquisite fashion. Every dish was remarkable, with unexpected goose and duck trappings. We were treated to excellent mixologist skills in the outdoor bar, part the regular Anderson area. I was unable to get to the interior as I was not a VIP at the event, but I will venture back to be able to give you the full scoop.I must say this though. The staffs attention to detail and willingness to describe the different dishes and libations was most remarkable. Everything and everyone were extremely interactive and friendly, the perfect vibe I would look for in a hangout.

Dear the New Anderson owners,You get it. Love what youve done so far, which maybe invisible to most, but not to me and my friends. We love the New Happy Hour menu. We love the cocktails, major improvements lately. And..we love the bartenders! Oh, by the way, your new food spot El Toro, is damn delicious and and HONESTLY nice counterpoint to the drinks. Its typically one os stronger than the other, but they do balance out so well now, its amazing. We will continue to support these very welcome changes and we are excited for the new rumored karaoke nights.Regards,The Hamburglar, lover of burgers and fine drinking and eating establishments

The ambient format looks like they might have been in the middle of remodeling or rearrangement, so the entrance to the inside bar is not very intuitive. Nice bar but limited when you ask for a drink outside of the cocktail menu. Drinks are moderate to expensive and underserved. But the No Cash policy caught us by surprise due to lack of any signs or previous warnings from the bartender. If there is any notice, its not visible. Before posting this review we tried contacting the establishments owner or management multiple times from a couple of phone numbers that are posted in the google maps page and online to which we got no reply and sounded like the contact numbers provided are either outdated or out of service. Completely different experience compared to past couple of times, which I very much enjoyed compared to this last one.

Last night went with a couple of friends to grab a drink and food. We had all been to the Anderson many times over the years and seen it take on different iterations. When we arrived we saw it was going thru more of those changes with part of it blocked off. We headed to the back where there used to be pizza - now tacos. Looked nice and potentially yummy. First red flag the bartender there said the bar wasnt set up so he couldnt serve drinks, go inside. Ok well the drinks outside (that he couldnt serve yet) were a little cheaper and looked tastier (mexican inspired). We go inside to get a drink, 2 spicy margaritas and 1 negroni. It ended up taking 30 minutes, maybe more. It was still on the early side but a little bumping. Nothing that should have led to a 30 minute wait for drinks though. The bartender seemed to be having a hard time with sequence and attention - stopping to do things for people when it really could have waited. Waiting to close out the tab also took awhile, the bartender brings the bill and says he only charged one drink as a shot, and same as negroni - still full price, about $17?! We go back outside so we can order some food. We use their ordering app on the phone. While we do that we realize the drinks (at least the spicy margaritas) kind of suck, so we try ordering the ones outside. Long wait for the tiniest dry tacos ever. We got chicken mole tacos - no mole. The chicken tasted boiled and flavorless. We wait and wait for the other drinks. Nothing. I go to the bartender and ask about them - he gets flustered and said I need to go inside for them, hes still not set up. Its 10:30pm by now - Ive been in the service industry I found it ridiculous a bar thats open is not ready to serve people at 10:30 at night. I told the guy no thank you those drinks inside were no good and we waited forever. I said please take the drinks off the tab - he says you do it. I am like excuse me, this app wont let me. We get into a back and forth because they have a new POS system and hes basically showing it to me to try to figure out. Im like dude this isnt my problem, please just cancel the drinks.. then he says he has to get he manager. I go sit back down and wait. eventually my friends are ready to leave. The guy had to call the manager again to come. Eventually he shows up and takes the drinks off. I explain to him how Ive been there a bunch and this was the worst experience I ever had, with absolutely no charm or interest he apologizes Im sorry that happened - no offer to make up for it somehow or anything really considerate. It seemed like the whole crew just woke up from a nap, and severely hungover decided to start working at the last minute. Im not sure what was up but the service and everything was practically a joke. Extremely expensive annoying experience . Too bad because the anderson is like the last local bar that was reliable. I guess its befallen the Miami curse

We heard great things about The Anderson from some locals and were excited to try it out. The building and decor upon entering were fantastic! Very interesting, fun entrance area and beautiful garden bar area. Same for inside. Truly loved the decor!!However, it quickly went downhill. Bartender let us know the ordering system and handed us a menu. We went back up to the bar to order drinks and were then informed that they didn’t have the ingredients for most of the drinks on the menu. (This would have been very helpful information when we were handed the menu.) He winged it on 2 drinks. 1 was delicious and 1 was so-so. We ordered food and were again told that they did not have anything to make what we ordered. We settled on 2 small food items that they did have and ordered another round of drinks, that he was going to wing it on again. THESE WERE UNDRINKABLE!!! 2 sips gave me the absolute worst acid reflux! (I do not have these issues, ever, maybe once before in my life.) It was so bad that it lasted through this morning and is still lingering at noon today. We watched our food be prepared. (I love an open kitchen!) She did a great job and was fast, clean and efficient. She rang the bell for service and we then watched our food sit there for about 5 minutes. At this point, she turned on the heat lamp, which was definitely appreciated. We began wondering if we were supposed to get it ourselves. It sat for another 5 minutes during which time the bartender was chatting with customers and casually making a couple drinks. The cook rang the bell for service again, at which point we asked her if we should just come get it ourselves. She said that was fine, so my husband got up to get it. Once my husband was almost to the food counter service area, the bartender finally acknowledged us and started walking to the food service area to meet him. My husband still carried our food to the table.Food was mediocre at best. Probably would have been better if it hadn’t sat in the window for over 10 minutes. We left and found dinner down the street.

Very laid back bar. It was a Monday night when I visited the Anderson. They had a live local reggae band performing. There was actually three section to this bar. One area where there was a bar and small stage for the band to perform. There was booth type seating for you to watch the band with a small dance floor. It was a low lite area. The other section through a door had table seating and another bar for drinks and ordering food. The food was enjoyable. I had the shrimp tacos. This was a good area for conversation. There was also an outside area with tables as well. One thing I also like, there were different ethnicity of people. It gave a welcome feeling to everyone. My group stayed until close at 2am. Next time Im in Miami, I will definitely go back to the Anderson.

This was my second time coming to The Anderson, the vibes are amazing and the music is spot on but I don’t think I’ll be returning anymore… the service isn’t there, no one comes to ask you what you want to drink, don’t make suggestions… the staff is just waiting around the bar waiting for YOU to come and order the drink and ask what they recommend. Not ONCE did they come to my table to ask if I wanted another drink (I did), if this is the concept then take off the 22% gratuity that’s placed on every check… I get the living wage and we’re all for that… but common… service definitely needs to be better and more attentive if you want to be charging these prices. This is the kind of food and entertainment place that I find most attractive: there is a variety of separate eating and drinking areas here, most of them with al-fresco dining. You don’t have to confine yourself to one type of food or drink. And, if you should so desire, you can enter their lounge and enjoy the entertainment that is offered that night.A friend and I visited on a Friday night around 8:30 pm. We were seated at their El Toro bar which caters Latin-inspired cocktails and food. There were two bartenders — both very friendly and welcoming. We ordered two cocktails from their menu one with rum in it and the other with mezcal. We’re pretty sure our bartender got the spirits mixed up as the one that was supposed to be with mezcal didn’t have any mezcal flavor (the spirit in it was almost tasteless, but the drink was potent — I drank it faster that I should’ve because the spirit was tasteless — felt the effect later) but the one with rum did have a smoky mezcal flavor. We also ordered their guacamole — the chips as well as the dip were outstanding! The crowd was mostly young people. It was a Friday night. I’m guessing on Saturdays when they declare “Disco night” in their lounge, the crowd would be slightly older people. That night’s entertainment was a unique two-person band, one on drums and the other on keyboards. The lounge was mostly empty at 9:00 pm, but we might have hung around longer had there been more people there.I think this place picks up much later in the night. I’m going to visit on a Saturday much later in the night to see what the scene is.It’s a good place and I might have given it 4 stars — even 5 stars, had the mixup with the spirits not occurred. Pending my next visit, I’m going to give this place 3 stars right now.

Cool Chill Place! I love it when I walk into a place and the vibe is welcoming, and unpretentious. You know, like you walk in and everyone is having a good time and engaged in conversation. It felt like I was in an old Key West home. It was relaxing to sit around and chat and drink. The drinks were a bit pricey but, its Miami. Will definitely be back.

Food is good and I like the relaxed environment. However, the day that I went there were two parties, and the staff didn’t help me find a table or where to sit. I asked the bartender and he just replied that I should sit whenever, but I got confused because all the tables had a reserved sign. I sat at the bar, and I ordered a drink and a queso fundido, but didn’t want to continue ordering because the bartender was acting rude (maybe he was too busy, but I didn’t like the vibe). I might give it another try, but for the moment I don’t think I’m coming back soon.

I guess they already know that they will get that 20% whatever happens, right?

She messed up every single order, as well as the bills. Then got rude and actually argued with us LOUDLY and when her manager came over to diffuse things she told her manager that we weren’t willing to pay for anything when we just wanted to be charged correctly. I used to go to The Anderson 5-6 years ago before the expansion, always cool. But last night, the experience was terrible. The food was horrendous, quesadillas were a cold tortilla with some synthetic white cheese inside, the tortilla chips tasted like they had been fried in really old and saturated oil, the tacos are TINY! On top of that, a 20% tip is now included and mandatory, even when your server is nowhere to be found for 20-25 mins, even when you buy drinks directly from the bar (because your server is prob crying in the bathroom) and ask for help to take them to your table because there are too many and the bartender who doesn’t have any other customers, says “go and come back for the rest if you can’t do it all at once”. Advice for the management of this place: hire more servers, 1 person can’t do it all, educate your staff to provide a 20% tip level of service, get a decent chef to work on your menu, it really is a mess.

At 20% automatic service fee the manager will add items you didn’t order in your bill and then...ask you to move to another table WHILE you are having dinner .Imagine this: we are having dinner and drinks.A tarot reader comes to our table and says “Guys could you move to another table because this is MY table and I usually read tarot here”.There were no signs that this table belongs to a tarot reader past 7pm -nothing. We politely say we are patrons and a kind of having dinner right now and don’t feel like moving..and she said she said “I’m in no rush I’ll wait”..then made a few steps and just stood there waiting .......... throwing looks at us ....🧐Needless to say we couldn’t handle this and moved our food and drink just to finish it ASAP and get out of there ...(we were actually celebrating something and weren’t in a hurry) #ruinednightFood is mediocre and though we ordered several positions from the menu, none of it came with a sauce . Tacos without a dipping sauce . So we asked the waiter/manager actually for a sauce which establishments with less than 20% gratuity included will easily accommodate you with. HE BROUGHT US CHIPS that came with sauce - basically instead of saying there is no sauce in their s** hole unless you order chips that comes with it - just brought it out and added to the bill. We’ve seen a lot in Miami but this has been one of the worst experiences ever. Most importantly - no reaction from the management .Last thing is this place is a dive bar type of thing and there is NO service especially at 20%. The manager or the waiter that was getting these 20% weren’t there to help us move our food and drinks to another table when the tarot reader pressed us to leave - we had to do it ourselves.

Our AirBNB was nearby, and after a long day in Little Havana and Wynwood, we thought we would go out and find some music and dancing. We are perhaps overly interested in imaginative mixology, so I had scoped out the Anderson as a good pregame spot to Uber from. We were excited about some of the drinks listed on the website. Unfortunately, those dont exist anymore under the new management. Fortunately, the place is an absolute gem, and we had no desire to go further for our evening. I am a regular at the famous Anderson bar, Always great vibe, great drinks, great atmosphere...however.tonight Thursday Jan 24, I came in to show my fiancee what all the Anderson is about since i always bring in friends and clients, i never expected the treatment i got tonight.we were listening to the GREAT live band when i had to use the restroom, by the time i got to open the restroom door a server who claimed to be the manager held the door fiercely and asked me what was going on in my table, and why i was beating my date...I politely told her everything was fine, to get her hands off the door that she has a misunderstanding and to please let me use the restroom and we will discuss it in a brief sec.By the time I came out she was gone, next thing I approached her to discuss this issue and I found out she was a server, she portrayed herself as a manager and I asked to speak to a real manager.Another guy with his hat turned backwards shows up, guess what? he wasnt the manager either and i spent 15 min telling him what really happened... later on i found the real manager( JOSHUA ALPERSTEIN ) and told him how disappointed I was that my fiancee and I were having a great time and the server claimed I was attacking my date and later changed her story to me attacking her... I have been here 100 times and never ever received this type of service, in fact, I was there 2 nights ago sitting at the bar and the bartender was charming as they always are. I am truly sorry i present them with such a terrible review but after the way the server treated us, her coworker to play the manager, the guy with the hat to played to be a 3rd manager until i got to the real manager ( who kindly comped my full check) but at that point my experience was ruined. the band playing that night by FABIAN BAND COMIC, was great we really enjoyed our early visit, however, the poor management judgement and whatever influence the server lady was under made us loss respect for the establishment itself, I was beyond confused of the whole situation and so was Joshua the manager. At the end of the day, i left with the most bitter taste experience I ever left a bar in South Florida, coming from Locals who work in the food and beverage industry. At no point i mean to sound stressed or to destroy the place reputation, but honestly, this could have been handle better than the way they handled it. you lost business from the people who sent you business.

I am writing this to express how utterly appalled I am at this establishment. Your venue had quest love scheduled to play at dj set at 10pm in December 8th. I showed up to this event an hour early to find that it had already reached capacity. My issue is not that I was not able to enter. I find fault in the way your staff handled the growing crowd outside the venue. I was told that the venue was at capacity since 8:30 and that people had been waiting since 5:00.The young white woman working the door with the black bob and the white manager who’s name was Dave were both extremely rude and should not interact with patrons at all. Again I understand that your venue fills up quickly however the respectful thing to do when you’re catering to guests is to tell them that doors open for the event at 5:00.Further at the very least someone should’ve ensured people at the back of the line knew the venue was at capacity. Your managers being flippant as people pull out of $30 Uber’s and stand in line for over an hour is disgraceful. Put people on proper notice next time. Have bouncers placed at various spots so that a line doesn’t wrap around your building and people don’t waste their time.Send out a curtesy email to the people who rsvp’d to let them know they won’t receive entry at the very least . You’ve lost a customer forever and I hope for the sake of your business you learn how to treat patrons with more respect.

Cool spot with a large outdoor area. They have decent drinks, and lots of live performances. The bathrooms outside is super gross though.

The place was clean and seemed like a cool vibe. The music was too loud for normal conversation and the drinks are over priced

Great hidden spot for a bite to eat or some fancy drinks. A+ for multiple atmospheres. All the wynwood feel, just closer and with better parking :)

I was really digging this place when it opened up initially. However, the last time I went there they added automatic gratuity to their drinks. As a fellow bartender I can somewhat sympathize with the fact that there are a lot of S**tty tippers and straight up low class people in Miami (a lot of that stemming from people from Latin countries where tipping is not really customary).Unfortunately, my last experience there consisted of a watered rendition of my favorite Anderson drink Death by Stereo which I usually love, but not this time. Not only that, but there AC was having issues that night as well, which happens in Miami of course.I havent been back since but will probably give it another chance at some point.Sorry if this mixed review offends some people, but Im just keeping it real.Hope everyone else has a better experience than I did that night.Cheers!

4 drinks and a meal came to a total of 80 bucks because they also tip themselves as a service charge. The place is just not as cool as it thinks it is. I give it maybe 6 months before it shuts down.

Cozy spot in an area without many options for a good outdoor space with a busy interior dancefloor and outside coctail bar. Will surely visit again soon as its ideal for everyday drink or weekend relaxation and fun with friends

Great place for cocktails and conversation early in the evening. The party gets going later in the night with DJs, live music, and dancing.Three amazing bars. Great bites.

If you blink, you will pass by & miss it. Nice laid back vibes & a good food. That particular night, it was breezy outside so being outside with a drink in one hand & a superfly hunnys hand in my other made it that much sweeter...

This place is a vibe and the drinks are the best, my recommendations is to let the bartender surprise you with whatever drink you order, the food is delicious, get the guacamole is super fresh and you can tell the tortillas are hand made.

I guess in Miami this is considered good, no wonder the city still feels third world, even after the migration of educated people from other parts of the country .... terrible service, terrible drinks and mediocre food. BUT ABOVE ALL .... TERRIBLE SERVICE.

The cashier was murmuring to himself that he was going to kill somebody and then kill himself. I asked For a detailed receipt because the total was higher than I expected, and he said that I had to pay first and then a receipt would be printed, we got into a bit of a disagreement and he charged my card without my permission and then showed me what I paid for.

The Anderson, home to the best margarita in South Florida. It doesnt take a mixologist to make the perfect margarita, but it dont hurt. The brass that makes up the bake bone for this North Miami institution, are precise and thoughtful. They have a food menu that covers all the bases, including elote shoestring fries that give you the encouragement you need to add a couple more cocktails to the tab. Happy hour allows you to dabble on a bit of everything, 4-8 everyday.

I don’t know what menu everyone else had but the menu provided on 1/1 was awful and so was the food. Serving unseasoned wings, mayonnaise for dipping, two slices of bread, cold corn on the cob does not deserve a star!
