Albertas was great. I went for the beginner and intermediate classes followed by the open dancing. It was a $15 entrance fee for the night. The door said no tennis shoes and T-shirts but that was not enforced. You are allowed to bring in one sealed standard size water bottle with you or it is $3 to buy one. For sustainability reasons I really wish you could just purchase a glass of water or bring your own reusable. It was very warm inside and very crowded since it was a Friday night. There was also a coat check available. Overall had a great time and will definitely go back. Bicycle parking is available right in front.
Very good climate for all salseros, cool vibe and a friendly people. I was on LA style free lesson before social dancing. Partners are quite open for socializing and freestyle with salsa movements ;)In case of incidents owners of this plase can help you. I was issue with Uber after party and thanks Mike for you support!Very impressive and natural place without alcoholic on the floor and different kind of strangers. You must go here and feel positive vibes, if you will be in Bay area!
Great place for salsa dancing! If you come early there are classes for beginners and intermediates. Then social dancing until late. They have more dancing then just salsa here. People are friendly and ready to dance. This place attracts a lot of the better dancers in the area.Drinks are a little pricey. There is a cover charge and a charge for coat check.Bring your dance shoes and get ready to sweat.
The sound system is terrible! The dance floor is nice and smooth but way too crowded with people who were unaware of their feet and kept stepping on mine. Expensive cover charge for canned music. Had a drink and it was flavorless.
Been coming here for years on and off, was consisted in the beginning and now again for the salsa classes which is really great. It does have more space compared to other locations Ive been to in the past and fun as usual. Normally the crowd are cool in and after classes and I enjoy the open dancing when the class ends for the rest of the evening to have more fun there. The teacher as well is very thorough and helps anyone she can to understand steps and turns (male/female) it doesnt matter. So yea check it out some time and enjoy!
I went with a friend for salsalessons, now I go by myself…. can’t miss a class. Atmosphere is safe and people are very friendly. I recommend this place if you want to learn some moves and have some fun. Fridays are crowded… well it is Friday. Tuesdays and thursdays are my best days…
Good installations, nice and friendly people, clean and good vibe, the price of the beer is so nice! The music selection is mediocre too horrible, most of the local dancers have poorly or null experience dancing salsa, they believe that the Salsa Casino (Cuban style), its the only should be danced. For an experienced and seasoned Salsero like me, this was so sad, because they cant or wont dance Colombian Salsa style or Mexican Salsa style. Anyway is a so so place for the average dancer, dont expect the real Tropic and Latin-American experience in salsa.
Great salsa social atmosphere. Pantea is a great instructor. As others have mentioned, her classes at Albertos are often not true beginner classes. Although theres a beginners class each night, certain nights of the week are more advanced than others i.e. Tuesdays. In my experience, Fridays are the most beginner friendly but also can be crowded. It says no outside beverages on a sign at the entrance but Ive discretely brought my own water bottle and never had trouble; water bottles are expensive at the bar here.
Ive been coming here for years, helping the instructor Pantea teach salsa on Fridays from time to time. Apart from the outside entrance which I find uninviting I love this place. Its actually quite friendly and well kept and an amazing place to learn Salsa for non dancers and dancers alike!
I love this place for salsa lessons, but things are very different on Saturdays. They used to not charge women before 10:30pm. They say now that they took that away early this year. After I got there some other friends joined me and they said they were not asked to pay or some others got charged with the same reason they gave me. Dissapointing:(
I went here for the first time on Wednesday. It was a pretty happening Bachata club. I wish they would have played some Dominican salsa, it was sensual back to back, very repetitive. They only played 2 salsa songs as well. Just a little more variety would have been much better. Other than that I got a glass of wine and went back for a glass of water, same bartender refused to give me a cup a water. That was a huge turn off. She wanted me to buy a bottle of water. I thought it was illegal for bars to sell you liquor and not tend you a glass of tap water, LAME.
Friendly atmosphere, especially to new dancers. I never got the attitude of what are you doing here? from the experienced dancers. Good venue with ample dance space and strong but not painfully loud music.
Excellent dance space with a gorgeous bar and seating. Honestly one if the best values for your drinks and generally you get a great dance lesson in any of the social dances. Perfect for an evening or even a date night out depending on the kind of date.
I came here on a Thursday with a group of friends. There was a $10 entrance fee and they take credit card.We attended the intermediate class that started around 9pm and learned a routine. That was followed by social dancing. More and more people came throughout the night and it started getting quite crowded so it was hard to dance without bumping into people.I would consider myself a beginner / advanced-beginner in salsa, and everyone here seemed better than me. Yet most people were very friendly and didnt mind that Im a beginner. Someone even taught me Bachata and Merengue. I didnt know Bachata at all before, and havent done Merengue for several months. I told him and he said not to worry and hell teach me. It was very fun! There was a bar for people who wanted drinks, but I brought my own water bottle and so did many people and no one seemed to mind.
This is the best place for anyone who is new to latin social dances as well as the veterans. Excellent place to up your game with good music and crowd. Also it is a very safe place with familiar people and good friendly environment. Also Pantea is an excellent teacher who makes the class worthwhile
I started going to Albertos in April 2017 with zero experience in any latin dances.I must admit that the dance instructor Pantea is both patient in her teaching style and very creative in the dancing patterns. She pays appropriate attention to every move she teaches. If you come here often you will realize that she teaches a variety of patterns and their variations that you cant help but keep getting better at dancing.I love her classes so much that at one point my arm was in a cast due to a sport injury, in spite of that I couldnt not keep myself from attending classes and even though I couldnt dance my best, the lessons and practice were totally worth it.If you wanna learn salsa and bachata and continue to get better, no matter what level you are at, this is where you wanna be. Over time you will see many familiar faces and everyone keeps getting better and is helpful and friendly. I love dancing and coming here is one of the most fun things things I get to do!
Great place to get your bachata and salsa on. Bachata is Wednesdays while Salsa can be danced on Tues Thurs and Friday. $10 cover with coat checks. The bouncer is a fun dancer.
I ordered food from here and the food came soggy when it wasnt supposed to be and the avocado was darkened. The food was gross honestly. I love albertos but this one is the worst. If you want a good albertos I reccomend the one on waterman or e st.
My first time here was nearly 20 years ago. This place hasnt changed much, although most of the times its empty. Drinking at Albertos is expensive and the ratio between men and women reminds me of a warfare movie I watched in the past.
The bouncer told my friend that if she wanted to get us in, she should have worn a dress. The bouncer looked at me, looked at what I was wearing and said You are wearing shorts? And judged me. I am offended. Also if you posess a penis, expect a cover charge.
Ive been here a couple of times for Salsa and Bachata dancing. They have classes for beginners, although Id recommend coming a couple times to really get the hang of it.
This is a fantastic place whether youre a dancer or not. Great people, nice atmosphere, & plenty of fun.
Women are supposed to be free between 10 and 10:30 pm, but they ddiscriminate which women are Free. If they are young and pretty much hey practically push them in, if they are older they charge them unless they complain.
Good place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without callingGood place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without callingGood place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without callingGood place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without callingGood place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without callingGood place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without callingGood place but be sure you talk to some one before you go there without calling
Visited from out of town and had a great time at both salsa and bachata nights!
I used to go salsa dancing here all the time. A fun, casual place to learn.
The salsa classes were enjoyable, music was great. Age range 30-50.
Super fun, varied music, affordable, good vibes and great service.
Sunday is Tango night, with a weekly milonga. I always enjoy myself.
Really-really good salsa lessons and party. No drunk people.
Great place to go bachata dancing on Wednesday nights!
A very nice hangout... Bring your out of town crew or locals with you.
The best place to dance salsa, bachata in the area.
If you like to dance Salsa Albertos is where to be!
Always fun and friendly. Great people watching.
Great place... lovely ambiance...

Albertos
Nice
Lovely for social dancing
Love this place
I was there today, Saturday, February 17, 2024, its four hours of dancing, but its no longer what it was. Latin Saturdays, now its rock and the one who plays music only played rock in English and then rock in Spanish and then the orchestra sang the same I had just finished playing, and the sound of the orchestra was poor and it took an hour of singing to cut your wrists... these are no longer Latin Saturdays...
I dont give it 5 stars because it is very repetitive, the music is always the same and the DJ needs to add more resentful music from there, everything is super good
Nice place to learn to dance and dance, but if they had a DJ it would be better 🎵🎼🎶
I hadnt gone out for a long time and I was looking for a place to go dance salsa merengue. I loved coming here. Its quiet and the group that plays live does a great job. I recommend it.
The DJ used to play more cumbia... Not anymore, so its no longer worth coming to this place.Food is not sold here, it is a Latin dance place.
They do a basic level bachata workshop on Wednesdays and then a social workshop.
They dont know what Bachata is on WednesdaysVery bad music
Put more yaguaru. Kual Group. Alberto Pedrasa. And cumbia guaraperos
Great instruction, Pantea!
Great atmosphere and excellent dancers!
