Read the reviews before going , and definitely thought about not going , but decided to go and enjoy myself, good company for Friday night , good drink prices and music selection was on point for 70 percent of the time. Didn’t try any food

Violent bouncer, I recommend staying out of this place for your own safety. Im very confused as to why a gay bar would be violent against any queer person. Were supposed to feel safe in our community spaces yet this place and personnel managed to make my friends and I feel very unsafe. My friend has a big scar on his back because the bouncer dragged him by force through the floor out of the bar. Unsettling LGBTQ+ friendly behavior. Definitely pinkwashing.

DON’T EVER COME TO THIS PLACE. I was dragged out of the bar in the most violent way by one of the bouncers (the white guy that looks like he is on steroids). What happened? Well, I was kissing a guy in the bathroom and he kicked us out. I mean… kissing a guy in a gay bar? Of course, you do gay things in a gay bar, you are supposed to be in a safe place. But when he was taking me out I told him that I needed to get my card because I had a tab open, he didn’t let me and I told him again about my card, suddenly he just grabbed me from my shirt neck, I fell on the floor and he dragged me out to the street like a rag doll, ripping the skin up on my back. I am a latino guy, I look like a Latino, I have an accent, I am definitely smaller than this inhuman person that hurt me. If I were white, blonde and blue eyed, would this have happened to me?

I just moved to the beach about 4 months ago and don’t get me wrong I love the diversity but I think it’s a little belittling to sit in a gay bar and have to hear pop all night until after midnight. They need to play all culture music even if the crowd is white minority. Other than that I have fun everytime after midnight 😩

Here’s the updated 2021 review you were looking for!!!-$10 to get in-Yes they take cards-Easy to locate and good parking-It was decorated nicely (Halloween theme)-It’s bigger on the inside!-Pool tables, bar, lounge area, a stage and nice dance floor-Indoor cigarette smoking (I don’t smoke cigarettes and I HATE the smell, but shockingly it didn’t bother me too much).-I was solo but had fun. Friendly crowd.-Ms. Briana is AMAZING Queen of Drags 👑-Btw I’m black (trust me, I know why I wrote this part)-I only took videos, but I’m going to screenshot some partsI was scrolling through reviews deciding if I wanted to go here or not. Many of the reviews were very old. The main one that stood out was the one saying the drags looks like they just got out of jail (lol). That made me really not want to go but good thing I went anyways to get my OWN feel of the place. Idk about the food or drinks cause I mainly went for the drag show and it did not disappoint !!!! My first drag show. It was amazing, the ladies were amazing. Beautiful and full of energy. Not one look like they came from jail 🤣. Bring cash to tip the beautiful drag Queens honey!!!!

Firstly, the food was awesome. Best food Ive ever had in a bar. It was kind of dead, but it was also a Thursday night. I really enjoyed it; had your typical bar games, like pool and darts, but also a pin ball machine. The bartender was quick and kind. The drag queens where the highlight of the night; what a fun and awesome group! There where only six people in the stand to start, but the two girls performing on January 4th absolutely killed it. Had a great time. Establishment was clean and spacious. Will definitely be back for another drag show when we dont have work in the morning and can stay for the whole thing. Drinks where also very reasonably priced and tasty! Great amaretto sour, and their house cocktails where awesome as well.

Sarah Daisy is amazing as well as the bartenders and staff! The whole place is so welcoming and Inclusive! We had the best time!!

So much fun! Stopped here on a whim oneFriday night and was glad I did. Cover charge was reasonable at $10, the food was decent and the drinks were moderately priced. I loved the drag show! Very entertaining and a nice variety of performers. I would go back here next time Im in the area. Only downside is that they allow smoking indoors which sucks for non-smokers.

Cool place. Two drag shows one was early for us old timers and the other one was at midnight. Nice clean club. Drinks are mixed right. They are generous with the liquor. Beer was very cold. Bartenders are very nice and friendly really make you feel welcome. Music was excellent the whole experience was a good one. I’ll go back again. Almost forgot plenty of parking well lit

The DJ is hella rude. Do not know how to read a room and play music that connects with her audience. One of my friend asked her to play a song and she ignored them. We paid to get in and should be able to request at least one song that would be fitting to our genre. Will probably not go again due to rudeness. Good food.

Service was straight forward and easy. The bartenders are great abs efficient at getting through the lines. The place was welcoming and was awesome to see places to sit and chat. Music wasn’t so loud I couldn’t hear anything. For a club, the bathrooms weren’t as bad as I was expecting. The owner was sweet and greeted us.

Last of the Big City Style gay bars, that just happens to be in Myrtle Beach. 1st class operation as the owner has been at the beach over 25 years. He was the most professional, 1st class bartender at the original gay bar Time Out. He had the guts and the intelligence to carry on the tradition in a truely 1st class operation. If you want to see what a gay bar was like in its hayday and is now, visit Pulse Ultra. You wont be disappointed.

They are obviously trying to scam tourists now. Sad. Showed up for a drag show that was advertised on Facebook as free cover and the door guy said it was $10. I have been here 15-20 times on vacation and never paid cover. Yet the last two nights I’ve come in the people in front of me were not charged cover but I was asked to pay $10 two nights in a row at 8pm. I was wearing a polo and shorts, well within dress code. The “bouncer” was very flustered when we pointed this out and asked what the cover was for. I doubt it goes to the performers.

Such a fun and nice vibe to spend with your friends. very spacious too.

My friends Brantley and christian said its a guaranteed hook up. Has never left there and not found a cute guy. Odds are good. Lots of private areas in club to get to know someone. Christian actually found his long term partner at the show and have been together every since. Great place to meet like minded people

First time visiting Pulse and it was my favorite spot in Myrtle! The queens are amazing, the drinks were great and the atmosphere is so fun! My husband had the best time too, it was such a great vibe with amazing people

Tourists Beware: you will be charged more with an out of state ID. You can drink for free at every other bar in Myrtle but this hole in the wall charges cover at 8pm. Great way to keep new customers out.

Best place ever. Bartender is everything (you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about when you meet him bc god couldn’t make him any competition if he tried). He will help you out and pour ridiculously good drinks. Good music, fun drag shows. The environment is something to experience. Coming back every chance I have. Unique af. Gotta experience it at least once and every night after that. They will look after you and they will protect you. Even the regulars are sweet. And tip him bare minimum 30% cash bc you know you won’t find another that genuine. And if that’s not enough anyone can cage dance. I haven’t met one employee that wasn’t nice.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place cause I have been on NUMEROUS occasions and NEVER had a problem…I never used a curse word but the bartender on this night wanted to come at me as if I’m someone less than him because he works there…I know Ken and have known him for a while and yes I know the policy and was willing to respect it but what I don’t deal with is someone who wants to disrespect me when I never came at them negative…if he can’t respect everybody and not belittle someone to others that don’t know me I don’t see myself returning…the food is amazing and that’s ALL that I went for…it may seem petty but it’s the principle of it all…Ken you’re amazing and run a amazing establishment but I don’t tolerate disrespect no matter the level of it…everyone I encourage you to go and enjoy yourself!!! But my word is to be heard!!!

I really enjoyed my time here. The service, drinks and John were amazing. I met some great people and sure it will turn into long friendships.

Went here on a Sunday night looking for somewhere to relax and it was great. My wife and I were looking for a place to go drink a bit and since we are from the upstate we didnt really know anywhere. We saw this place and stopped in. It wasnt crowded since it was a Sunday but everyone was very friendly and nice. We stayed for almost 3 hours and my wife sang and we both had a good time. It was clean, well lit, very well decorated, and I would definitely go again. The karaoke was fun and everyone had a good time singing. My only real complaint is smoking inside which neither of us do and could definitely put some people off, deservedly so. Would recommend anyways.

This place was by far the best gay bar/club my husband and I have ever been to! The service was amazing, the bartender Julie was awesome and made the best drinks, and the vibe there was perfect! 10/10 would 100% come back and we hope to come back soon! Love the atmosphere.

The overweight female DJ is not people friendly. Endless music of the same artist. Went to ask her if she took song suggestions and she snarky attitude said no. Girl, go find a new job… not good at the one she does and isn’t people friendly. Literally the worst DJ

Went there last night. One of two gay bars in Myrtle beach. The music started out kinda bad but got better over the next few hours. I dont drink often (partly because Ive never found anything I liked drinking much), but the bartender was nice and gave me a simple drink he thought Id enjoy. The local leather group/club had a small charity event ,which was fun to watch. The dance floor was pretty much empty until 1AM or so, and even then not a lot of people. They have a dartboard and two pool tables, which people played throughout the night (bring a few quarters). I had a really good time. Im sure Ill come by the next time I visit Myrtle beach.

The place is really clean and the service is so well. The bar food is pretty good but it could be better and the crowd is more so for a older crowd than anything the music is so out of the 80s is terrible but as far as the overall

Last year I came to this club and the DJ was cool, I asked him to play Latin music and he didnt even asked anything. Today 06/03/20222 there was a lady DJ, we kindly asked her to play some Latin music at least just one since we decided to come here and have some fun, and she was so rude to us and told us that she will play whatever she wants since she was DJing here (Pulse - South Carolina), I meant that’s cool but this is a tourist occasion and she should be a little bit more open when it comes to play some music…This is a very mix place, and this is the first time that I’m experienced this type of discrimination situation, plus we asked the security guy the name of the DJ and he was even worse. Not recommended to our Latino community.

The bartenders are great. The drag shows are killer. The price of drinks, quality of food, and the fact the womens restroom is neglected is kind of upsetting. One stall has a faulty lock, and one has no door. A shower rod and a curtain would do better than whats up now, including a slip lock. Theyre going to go under if theyre not careful. Theyre even missing a sign outside.

This place is amaaaazing!! I was in town from Philly for a mini vacation with my cousin, her birthday weekend, and we wanted to go out and have a good time...well, Pulse did not disappoint! 😊 🙌🏻 We saw Jukebox Judys Drag show, and she was on point hunny!! Everyone was soo kind and sweet, the atmosphere was great and lively, and just an all around great night we had! Shout out to our new friends Kendall, the bartender, Ken, Jukebox Judy and her performer friends, and the rest of the crew! If youre looking for an awesome night out, this is the place to go! We will deff be back!!! 🤗🤪

Julie was OMG amazing. I didnt have to order or wait I just had a new drink in front of me. OUTSTANDING. The bar in general was very nice, good music and entertainment, but Julie out shined them all with the amazing customer service. I will return only for the spectacular service.

Went here for the first time and I enjoyed myself, The bartenders are so friendly. I loved the Drag show and the people are just all around nice. Only thing I didnt like is youre aloud to smoke inside I dont like breathing in smoke and the music wasnt that great.

My wife and I were looking for a place that would be laid back and different. This place did not disappoint. They had a drag show and it was amazing. The ladies were beautiful and one of them I would have sworn was Whoopi from back in the day. Could not tell them apart. We met quite a few people and everyone was nice and nobody was pushy. We even got a free shot because we were virgins. We will be back again and again. We cant wait to check it out when they are busy.

I’ve been to Pulse three times when visiting Myrtle Beach.Where I’m from the gay clubs get packed.The DJ at Pulse is absolutely awful. A good DJ will mix one song into another not play one to the end and start another. Check out DJ Richie Rich he is amazing.I always order the same drink wherever I go.Sadly the only good one I had here was during happy hour with Jon. The others have been awful. I think it’s time for some changes here before it fails.Just some observations but worthwhile I think.A ban on smoking inside would be a big plus !!!

Very friendly lgbt club. As a transwoman, theyre very nice here. The bar staff is nice and knowledgeable. The music is good and the shows are fun. They have plenty of themed nights. My only real complaint is that it smells like cigarettes so do yourself a favor and dont wear clothes you like, but defiantly still come.

Went for a bachelorette party and honestly I loved it! While I’m not gay, it was still a great time! Everyone was SO nice, super respectful, the music was good, and so were the drinks! I’m so used to college bars, so coming here was SO refreshing! I would love to come back when I’m in town again!

I would give a 5 stars but I was disappointed with the service I had today 6/3/21. My friend and I went to the market commons to eat something and desire to go after to pulse and have a drink and walked 30 min to this place that because my ID was expired im 41 year old and my ID said it so he told me that I cant be in the bar that Ive been several times without asking me for ID. Place was dead anyways so we went to Georges and we spent a good amount of money that these people didnt want. Are you kidding me are you going to ask me for ID after been several times there???

The atmosphere was great , The owners were so sweet and kind such a lovely couple btw. The food was good. The dj got the party going around 12. The drinks were good and the staff was friendly . What else can you ask for ?

Use address... 2607 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach. Google is WRONG! This will take you to the McDonalds beside it. Music is techo/dance. Great lighting. And Ken was an awesome bartender, and althought it was busy he was quick and knew his drinks. Bonus points for calling us by the name on the tab with our second order!

Pulse is an okay place; if youre just looking to go to a gay bar, itll do (since you dont have much of a selection in the Myrtle Beach area), but here are my issues with this place:-The place reeks of cigarette smoke. Whenever I leave, I come out smelling like an ashtray. I dont know if they have an air filtration system or not, but if they do, it needs to be fixed.-They play the same songs over and over again (e.g. Ushers song Yeah). Its the same top-40 music from a decade ago repeated ad-nauseam. I think Pulse does occasionally have theme nights, but they are few and far between.-if you arent an official South Carolina resident (i.e. have a SC driver license), then you have to pay extra on the weekend when they have drag shows (usually $10). I dont mind paying some money since the performers do work hard, but if you live in the area temporarily and seasonally, you still have to pay the out-of-town price even if you have a residence in the Myrtle Beach area.On a more positive note, Julie (one of the bartenders) is super friendly and the shows are somewhat entertaining.

Would be 4 or maybe even 5 stars if I didnt smell like an ash tray after attending. I had to leave after about 90 minutes because I couldnt breathe the heavy smoke-filled air.Delicious, inexpensive strong enough drinks, nice variety of things to do. Locals and tourists were about 50/50 of the attendance.

Ken the owner of the bar was very nice to me and my partner he paid attention when we needed a another drink and ask us were we ok and he was very friendly with us and was willing to hold different conversations with us the bar is clean the show was great and everyone was friendly….. Ive always had a good time.. especially with drag shows!! Though some nights the show is amazing and some nights they werent that entertaining!!! Depends on who is doing a number. I have a few favorites that ALWAYS BRING IT!!! OVERALL THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE STAFF IS GREAT!!!

Walked in a little past 9 and it was kind-of dead but within an hour the place was packed! We went on Tuesday and they did bingo and it was so much fun!! Everyone was so nice and welcoming!

Cons: Ever since the bar relocated to this new location its been getting worse. The DJ continues to play the same music over and over again. Dont try and request a song because the DJ will refuse to play it. The bar is wayyyy to smokey! Heck, I could get past the smoke if the DJ played better music.Pros: Julie is an awesome bartender :)

I have been to a lot of bars and Julie is by far the best bartender I have ever had. Ive never been there before and I ordered one drink and after that I would approach the bar and she would hand me another drink. Thats incredible to be able to remember someones drink order, name, and tab with that many people in the bar. Best bartending experience.

I have travelled all over the United States and I can truly tell you that this place is not with The Times and current times I feel like the staff is older and its very old . They were playing music from decades ago I can honestly say that I have never seen a drag show and my 40 something used as bad as this one Except for the show director she was absolutely wonderful I guess all of the ones that went out 1st were local people or something but and they were not entertaining at all It was like watching something from the eighties and then she came out and it was like bam futuristic feathers and much more I definitely would not come back Especially this is supposed to be a mainstream nightclub in Myrtle Beach which is a vacation destination and they haveDrag queens that look like they just got out of prison

First time Myrtle Beach, and was looking for a good gay bar. This place deff lived by its name as being the #1 gay bar. Great bartenders, great music, great lighting, great layout, and dance floor. Only thing is the smoking. Not my thing but I get it but it’s the reason why I gave it four stars.Overall I would deff come back!

Went to this club twice within four days. The music is super repetitive and when you request songs to be played youre given an excuse everytime as to why it cannot be played. The bar staff was great, enjoyed the drag shows, but unfortunately besides drinking and shooting pool thats about it. I dont recommend this bar if you wanna go out and dance.

Nicest gay bar in Myrtle Beach. Friendly crowd and reasonable prices. They also have a food menu. The drag shows are very popular. I attended the 7pm Friday show, and there was a sizeable crowd.

Local LGBT and all inclusive bar and night club with great staff and entertainment. We always have a great time at Pulse Ultra Club and recommend you check it out while your here on vacation or as a local anytime. Judgement free and drama free place. Food is awesome as well and the owner and staff go all out to make it a great time!

I will give this bar a zero if I could. $8 per person to enter for nothing is pathetic. Dead on a Friday night at midnight. Drinks watered down. For drinks and cover charge $58 with tip. Bar smoke-filled and horrible.

This my second time coming here and its fun every time bartenders are super friendly and the staff is too! Drinks are super cheap music is good ! I got lucky today bc they have gogo dancers !!!!

3 stars because there are good and bad qualities the drag shows are top notch Sara Dazie and Jukebox Judy and all the other queen as well as all the staff are amazing I have overheard one of the bartenders be a bit rude to some of the patrons and a couple of the queens but I will definitely not let that deter me from going and having a good time because everyone has a bad day from time time the couches in the VIP sections are very dingy and stained and a lot of that is very visible with some of the lights that flash and the carpets are very sticky will definitely be returning because I have a great time when I go

Yeah this place is embarrassing. They only play songs mixed to house music. Which means, there is only like 3 people on the dance floor at a time. Yikes.. Better look else where for a fun gay ol time in myrtle beach.

The ONLy gay club in Myrtle Beach w/ mostly older gay (hate to say it but, caucasian males. But I respect the vacation from the straights. The shows are still awesome though. Its the only authenticity in back country and the Scorpio that runs it is absolutely AWESOME!! DROP IN OR MISS OUT

I watched the drink be poured. I worked in the industry for over half of my life. There wasnt a taste of the alcohol I ordered. Its watered down. I ordered a colored water drink? Nope!

An okay bar/club. It is pretty slow off-season so youll most likely encounter the fellas you see on your Grindr grid. Take that as you will. As others have reviewed, the smoking indoors is a big turnoff. You will leave smelling like an ashtray. Do not sniff your clothes the next day as you will probably gag.The biggest letdown is the music and the empty dance floor. I understand EDM is a current trend, but the music is usually too fast and/or too obscure to get into. It feels like Ultra Music Festival; you really have to be on something to really enjoy it. I would enjoy a gayer soundtrack (britney, madonna, kylie, katy, rupaul, etc..). The drag shows are pretty tame but always entertaining.On a positive note, the bar staff has always been friendly and great (in my experience), and the drinks are almost always strong if you know who to go to. People from large cities will appreciate the economically priced beverages.

As a local to the area of Myrtle Beach I see why some have stopped coming to this bar. The smoke is overwhelming. I havent been to the bar in a while but Im pretty sure the Dj played the same music. Its a shame because this bar has potential.

Friendly owners and staff. Locals are a bit clickess and not approachable in this club. So come with friends... not by yourself.... Bar itself very nice ... didnt like that younger guest are allowed to be drunken immature guest and not get kicked out...im all for having a good time but some things just need to be addressed ....

The bar is really big, modern, and eligent. However, that does not make up for the fact of the horrible customer service. The bar staff was extremely rude. I attended the club August 24th and I have never in my life been more offended by the bar attendant. I will never be back.

Pretty much the only gay club in the area. Staff is nice and friendly. Theres something going on every night: karaoke, drag queen bingo, games etc. Oh. And their food is good!!! :-)

Hands down the most modern Gay bar for 100miles, friendly staff, great food, fun times. Has a cafe, outside patios one in front and one in back, pool table, stage for shows, dance floor, and DJ.

Drag shows! The staff are so kind and courteous, and always extremely professional. There is a cover to get in on weekends, which is reasonable (I believe its $10).

Nice place but smokey as hell. I cant believe in 2015 your allowed to smoke inside. After about a hour my eyes couldnt take it anymore. Thought I was in a time warp. LOL

Visiting & went lastnight The music Is trashhhhhh but the bartender guy was very nice the club is nice but need up to date music & take smoking outside or something.

The club and the amotsphere is nice however I could not enjoy my night due to the smoke fog inside the club from people smoking. I will not be returning to this club anymore due to the fact that they allow smoking inside.
