The place was an absolute dump. The pictures were absolutely deceiving . They should be honest and show the real pictures of the rooms. I was with my family and for the first time in many vacations I didn’t want to stay in separate rooms and didn’t feel safe. We were only staying 1 night so my options were limited as far finding a place without spending 5-800$ for something accommodating and fair rated. It’s a shame because the location is actually phenomenal. They should really tear the place down and build new because I don’t think the smell in any of the rooms will ever go away. I’ve only been in 2 but that was enough. Just take my word for it. If you don’t mind brown pillows, toilet paper thin towels, AC that doesn’t work, loud noise all night, fridge that looks like it stored something rotten and shot at , sticky everything!!! Then this is the place for you. Needless to say I will never ever stay here or recommend this place to anyone.

The room was small and full of old furniture which was scratched up. The fridge had rust all over it on the outside and inside. There was sand and dirt all over the floor and inside the beds!! The ONLY nice thing in the room was the white clean looking bed sheets and comforter and mounted head boards. They also charge $25 per dog which they dont tell you ahead of time.

Last minute check in, no reservations just a few days before the 4th of July, and yes they had a room for us, gladly accepted our service dog, had extra towels for us. Even gave a couple suggestions for good eats!Just about 3 blocks from the beach it’s a great little place, close to everything with great service all around..The hotel itself is older with character, no frills but perfect for what we needed and wanted..We will definitely go back

My husband and I can for vacation and needed something walking distance to the beach. We had a perfect location to walk to everything we wanted to do. We had a great time. The room was large and was clean and comfortable for our stay. Everyone was very nice. Will have to return one day!

I would not recommend this place i tried to cancel immediately because I found a better deal better price, better aminities, location closer than the beach on the same dates i selected but these people they did not want to cancel and they enforce me to stay against my own will, they took my money out of my account regardless even i cancel immediately and let them know on time. My bank its gonna take care of this matter but I’m gonna set a complaint at the better business berau. Don’t let them ruin your vacations think twice and look for a better option.

Charges an additional $70 fee at check-in for bookings through 3rd party sites. Expects $100 CASH deposit at check-in.Room was adequate at best but for the price and location you cant expect much more. Floors and paint had been recently done.A/C unit was a relatively new window unit that worked well enough but was loud--probably not a deal breaker as it covered up the road noise pretty well.Room lacked easily accessible electrical plugs--bring an extension cord and/or power strip.In the end factor what you want/need. I was there for the location not the amenities and didnt mind taking the risk to save a few bucks.In answer to the $100 question in the room. Yes, I did get the cash deposit back on checkout without any hassles.

Beware of BUGS. Definitely an issue they need to address. There shouldn’t be any roaches in a hotel. Besides that the room was decent. Definitely dated. The refrigerator needed replacing or cleaning one. It was dirty/rusted.Dog friendly. 25$ fee for pets!Booked here on a whim. Will be my only time I stay but nothing too negative.

We checked in after 10 pm and immediately checked right back out. The room was dirty with used sheets still on the beds. I found hair, makeup etc. on the bed sheets. Sink was dirty with hair and toothpaste still in it. Floors were sticky and I killed a roach as soon as I enter the room. I would not recommend. I would give no stars if possible.

Our stay was good but the outside could use some work, new paint color and some cleaning! Staff was nice.

I personally like the stay here (: I didn’t see any bugs, the rooms were clean, and the staff was very polite. Me and my family will be back ❤️

We had booked this place and we got there and they asked for EVERYONE id we had a baby with us too then they starting saying its a law to ask every single person staying there for an id anyways we were gonna let it be but then the guy said you know what leave the ids and every single person give me $100 ? Um excuse me ? You just said it’s a law and now u saying to just give u 100$ for every single person staying . Yeah I don’t recommend it’s cheap which is good but really poor customer service and they try taking advantage of you .

Room was clean, little older and somewhat run down but fair pricing and great location. No issues.

The room was clean ,smelled good, and over all a good experience. Well lighted parking areas with overnight security.

Everything worked as it should, beds were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price was affordable.

I booked this hotel for the convenience of running a race nearby. It’s located in between a massage parlor and a liquor store gas station. The room smelled of stale cigarette smoke & had a full size rusty refrigerator. The air conditioning unit cooled the room enough, but added another set of odors. It wasn’t very clean, but the only roach I saw was dead.

Pool was not clean I was so excited to swim in it and the shower was clogged with hair and the bed had bugs

Place was not clean when I walked in. Dirt and particles on the floor, bathroom looked dingy, rusty fridge, room had an odor to it. The inside of the door had looked like someone had kicked it in and they didn’t bother to put the metal plate back properly on the inside of the door handle. Wasn’t even sure if the deadbolt door locked properly since every time I went to check the door handle it opened from the inside so I didn’t feel very safe. Called a hotel for another room in a better location and left within 15 minutes of checking in. Left too quickly to take pictures but the ones from their posting definitely don’t get the floor well enough of the gross appliances. Wish I could give zero stars as well.

08/21/2016 This motel has been the worst I ever been to. From the moment I opened the door I could not breathe because of bad smell. Everything inside the room is so old that even stuff at thrift stores is in better shape, mattresses, furniture, sheets, towels, etc. And if that wasnt enough, later at night roaches started coming out. Everything is dirty and useless, I could not even take a shower because the bath had black mold around the edges, is really nasty. This place should be permanently closed! I would not recommend it to anybody.

I dont feel like the hotel was up to standards by pricing. I definitely shouldnt have paid almost $500 for 2 nights. We had hissing cockroches in our room you can see day light around the door and the lock was messed up and the floor was not mopped. It was a good location and the housekeeping and maintenance staff were wonderful.

This room was absolutely disappointing. It was not clean at all. I paid for an early check in and the room they gave me was gross. There were roaches, the floor was dirty and the bathroom sink and mirror had scum all over it. They sent someone to spay bug spray to my room while I was in the room. After I complained about the dirty bathroom it still wasn’t cleaned by the staff. All they did was bring me a clean towel. The smell alone was like a stale thrift store. Thank god I had my own blanket so I didn’t have to sleep under the blankets. There were people hanging around on the balcony with their dogs that clearly didn’t have a room there. I felt so uncomfortable I didn’t even stay the time I planned!! I will never come back to this place again!!! At least it was walking distance from the beach, which was the only good thing..

Well the front desk staff was nice. Its an older rundown hotel. Its not as fancy and lets use the Hilton or some other place but if you just need a basic room, you dont want to spend too much, and you want to be within walking distance of the beach, this place is for you. Just dont expect it to look all shiny and fancy.

When I booked this hotel I didnt think to read the reviews. When I looked at them it was to late to cancel so I was terrified of even checking in. But I am here that you can know is my 100% honest review. The hotel itself is in the demolition part if town but I didnt feel unsafe and I traveled with 2 children ages 6 and 2. The staff was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. About a 5 minute walk to the beach. Now About the room yes it does look like the pictures their furniture could use some updating but it was fine. You get a full size refrigerator so that was so nice. No bugs what so ever was found. Also there are homeless people on the sidewalk when walking to beach but where in this day and time is there not homeless people. For the price it was a nice stay.

I wish I could give negative stars. This poorly run organization is disgusting and truly awful. My family made a reservation on the phone and were told to pay once we got there. We were given no booking or confirmation number. When we arrive, the employee at the window quickly told us there were no vacancies before we could even give our name or phone number. Confused, we go back to the car and call again - confirming that there’s a reservation under our name, the woman working the front desk said “Confirmed! See you soon” When we got out of the car to explain who we were, immediately, again she told us there was no reservation for us despite having just talked with us on the phone. She even denied having the phone call at all. My mother explained that we had spent an hour figuring out the ordeal and then the woman referenced the phone call and said “I thought you said you were ten minutes away” Thus proving that this business is run by racists who don’t have the common sense God gave a piece of toast to even follow through with their lie. Gross establishment. I believe that she was kind on the phone because she didn’t realize we were black. Her entire demeanor and attitude shifted once she saw us in person. Afterward I called customer support and they were unhelpful and refused to let me speak to a manager to escalate the situation.

This actually was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There was a hole in the wall, hair in the shower, dead bugs on the bed, the fridge was completely rusted and had mold in it, and the floor was super dirty. When we called to ask for a refund the front desk was rude and still charged us too much.

Great place very clean and very easy to find enjoyable get hospitality 10/10

On short notice had to book motel....plans exploded....location was fair...within walking distance to beach.My room was fine, traveling with my dog....daughter lives in town....a short drive away...my big issue was actually unit....couldnt change temp till the last night....but door to bathroom came prechewed....thinking a bigger dog with issues....overall I would stay again...

The room looked great looks like they recently renovated them, the fridge was good, location was two blocks away from the beach the staff is very respectful and helpful. If youre paying cash there is a cash deposit I booked on Priceline and it tells you if you read the fine print that theres a daily resort fee. Overall price was good its the only one in town that let you pay cash,the room colors look great my only thing is the Wi-Fi is spotty if I came back to Myrtle Beach on vacation again Id probably stay at this hotel

Avoid this place like the plague!! Bed bugs, roaches and surprise fees. Charged $100 ‘deposit’ when checking in after already paying for stay in full. Checked out after first night because of bed bugs and roaches…only refunded 1/4 of the deposit and did not want to refund any money. This place needs an audit from the health dept and should not be able to do business

This is a terrible hotel. If I could give zero stars I would. Once we arrived they told us we had to pay a $100 deposit that we didn’t know about before hand. Then once we got into our room the air conditioning was not working at all. The refrigerator was rusty, it was absolutely filthy and dark. So we spent 4 hours looking for a new room. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yall are all full of $hit!!!!! This place is dirty, disgusting, full of bed bugs, dirty sheets, bathroom ect! Not only that, but my daughter posted 8 hrs ago about she and her husband got bitten with bed bugs and she posted the pictures and its been deleted. Why? Yall are conserned???? That motel (because is not a hotel) needs to be inspected!! People, dont let this place fool you, those pictures Yall see about this nasty place its not real. Nothing looks or is even like in the pictures! And I bet who ever give those 5 stars are the same staff and owner, cuz theres no freaking way, someone on their right mind will give 5 stars to this trash. And go ahead and take me down! I will keep posting and posting until everyone sees this!!!

Rented the the room with 3 beds. It was not in good condition. No central heat. Two air conditioners were old, dirty, and did not work. Refrigerator and microwave had old food stains in them. I refused to stay but there is a no refund policy. I left and stayed somewhere else. Absolutely would not recommend.

We picked this hotel the day we arrived. We could say we shouldnt have expected less but honestly wow. One thing is its off of a major highway, parking lot filled with crack addicts, one guy actually tried to lure my friend into his car, you should expect to have at leat one incounter with bug spraying bc we did(didnt say what type we suspected roaches since we seen them), un helpful staff, extremely ghetto area, and ofc the usual domestic violence cop area next door to us. I stayed in 2020 but i can see from reviews it has not changed. I dont care if it looks cheap to yall but please know about this and please i beg you dont bring your children here.

I wrote a review earlier and would like to add to it. These people are super nice 👌 The room under us was being reconstructed this morning which sucked being woken up! I texted front desk and he ended up moving us to another room in the opposite building to make up for it. Which is great because the bed is bigger and the room is a little nicer. So he was very accommodating. As I mentioned before housekeeping was also nice asking if we needed anything. So if youre looking for a cheap room close to the beach this is a nice place.

Let me get this out of the way. If youre on a tight budget and all of those other hotels are too much, go ahead. People are nice, and the location is nice. The room wasnt as bad as we thought it would be.But there are SO MANY BETTER OPTIONS. Do NOT let the good reviews fool you! The outside is completely run down, the rooms are messy, there are BUGS EVERYWHERE, and these are BLOOD AND FECES STAINS!! best part? NO REFUNDS!!

Yeah, there ARE hidden charges. I was desperate to help take care of my fathers failing health so I jumped on the lowest price.$49 day off season turned into $58 with fees, Totally SCARY place. Ive stayed in some scummy places but this was the WORST. Demanded a $100 cash deposit the night I checked in, though i had paid for a 10-day stay. Had to go to Hookah Heaven down the road to use their ATM.. No receipt fir the cash deposit. The massive headboard fell off the wall at just before 4 am in the morning the third night. Could have killed me. On my 6th night, no maid service. This place STINKS. NEVER AGAIN.

Chose to stay one extra night while on vacation but the place I was in didn’t have the availability so I went on a search and (unfortunately) came across this terrible place. Room pictured was nothing like the room I got. Place smelled like cigarettes and an old unplugged refrigerator. Trash can for the room was literally stolen from holiday inn. Refrigerator was disgusting with stains all over the inside and even outside. Sand was in the bed and sheets. Most surfaces were sticky. Walls had unpainted repairs throughout. Place was just trashy, worst room I’ve ever stayed in. Had I known OYO was just a middleman for disgusting motels (I stayed at The Lancer Motel) I would have NEVER booked the room.

If I could give this place a negative 10 star I would. The worst experience ever. It all started when we arrived at the hotel. They tell us our reservation is for a different hotel, one that is not pet friendly. Although we called ahead of time to be sure lancer motel was pet friendly. However, since they mixed up our reservation they could not transfer our money to the other hotel, so we ended up paying double for another room. Once we got to our room it was filthy. As soon as we began to walk up the stairs to our room. The toilets and tub discussing. We did not even want to sleep in the beds because they had crumbs under the blankets and stains on the mattresses. Even worse the blankets had blood stains!! The fridge was completely rusted and unsanitary, along with the microwave. I would never in my life recommend this hotel or any of OYO hotels to anyone. Very unprofessional and disgusting. I added photo evidence of what the rooms looked like, it is nothing compared to what the website portrays. This hotel should be shut down for how unsanitary it is, this should be illegal!!!

N.O. Only way it wouldve been worse is if the place has snakes too.(and maybe it does...)Bugs , bugs and more bed bugs.When we turned on the light ... The bed bugs said , Room Taken Yo!Lets start with the service at the desk, shall we? The Lady said $75 + $100 security deposit. Sure ... it was like 2:30AM and we were tired so ... What the hay. Mr. Security (lets call him Joe) seemed nice enough.We went to our slop hole of a room and had to declined it ...Went back to the Lady at the desk and told her we were NOT staying with the bugs. And wanted our deposit back.She sends ol trusty Joe to ... as she put it ... investigate the bugs.He comes back and shrugs (I took that to mean that it looks like the rest of them) She hands me my $100 bill back, says to come back in the morning to talk to the manager and we went on our way ... Happy we only lost $75. Is a Negative Star possible?

I read reviews before I came and decided to book because it was only $40 bucks and I can make my own opinion of the room. Very clean and although it could be better, worth the money and I would stay here again. There are folks walking around in the parking lot, but maybe they live here. Anyways, I feel safe and satisfied with the hotel.

The booking.com site tricked me it made it seem like it was a very nice establishment, but it was not. They had roaches, they were not clean, the doors were all rusted I was in room 102 and that was the most horrible place I have ever stayed. The location is great because you are near all the main attractions, but the hotel was horrible, just dirty and but the people were nice. The pictures that are on google and booking.com is a complete scam, the hotel does not look like that my trip was 08/06/21-08/09/21 and I am telling you that is not how it looks. But like I said the workers are very nice.

The tvs don’t have hdmi wiring only wiring for desktops the refrigerator takes a while to get cold the door wasn’t the best looking it was very unappealing the inside was a nice vintage set up besides my earlier tv comment but I would stay here again

These are old run down hotels that are rebranded and rented out under a new name. The fridge had more rust on the door than the actual door to the room. Cigarette burns in blankets, and still got charged a resort fee

This place was horrible. I don’t know if was just the room I was put in but the bed was disgusting, even the sheets were discolored, fridge wasn’t even working and the room smelled like it was painted the day before. If I could leave less than a 1 star review I would. Got my money back and went to an extremely better place for 50$ more, closer to the beach.

Online this place great. The photos posted on their site were great. Upon arrival, the staff was great. The best thing about this property is its proximity to the beach. That is where the greatness ends. This place is what I would call a dive, a dump, a disaster. I made the reservation based on what I saw on their deceptive website. I am so angry about our experience it has taken me a few days to get myself in the right frame of mind to share my experience. Where to start? The property is run down, from the rusty front door to the dilapidated furniture from the 1960s, to the rusty microwave to the equally rusty refrigerator, to the lack of hot water in the bathroom sink, everything was just bad. I would never tell anyone to stay here. Oh yes, beware of the roaches, spiders, bedbugs or whatever it was that chomped on my arms and legs during the night. I did have to kill a roach that I found in the bathroom. This was the longest two night stay ever. We even invited friends to drive 8 hours from Washington, DC to Myrtle Beach with us for a relaxing weekend. I was embarrassed and mortified for all of us to stay at the OYO Lancer in Myrtle Beach, SC. We all made the best of our stay but we will never, ever stay at another OYO property. It would have been better to sleep in the car. And lets just talk about the price. Highway robbery. While making the reservation, one price was posted. Upon arrival it was twice as much. Unbelievable!!! OYO should be ashamed of themselves. I am going to join the other dissatisfied customers that have posted on Yelp and other sites about how bad this property is. Negative posts are something that I dont normally do, but, I cant in good conscious allow anyone to unknowingly make a reservation and stay here.

BED BUGS!!..COCKROACHES!!.. very shady not as in pictures and I have no idea how this motel is under 2.5 star hotels. We were badly bit by bed bugs in a single night and rashes all over. The bathroom was very dingy. The refrigerator they had was rusty and the lights had loose connections. The room was the dirtiest, No charging ports in the room!. Worst stay ever. We just booked it because it was OYO and unfortunately the place we booked was not available.

Me and my husband took a last minute getaway for our anniversary so without previous reservation I found this hotel it says LANCER HOTEL on the building just in case anyone gets confused. However I went inside and was greeted by a very nice man and woman who was fast friendly and organized with me. Showed me the room and I liked it so I stayed . No it may not b a 4 ⭐ hotel but my room was clean no bugs had a big refrigerator nice and cold and was well worth the price. Everyone was friendly and nice. It was quiet and I felt safe there at night. And this property is VERY convenient to all the stores for all needs(food, liquor, tobacco,gas, gift shop, ect) all within 30 ft. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will DEFINITELY b back. If your not trying to pay $300 a night just want somewhere to stay that comfortable safe and dont have roaches crawling everywhere this is the place. Thank you for everything again 😉💌

No matter the circumstances, do not stay at this disgusting motel. You would be much better off sleeping in your car overnight. The room looked like someone came in with a hammer and beat everything up. Not to mention it smelled horrible! The bathroom was so disgusting and dirty we could not use the shower. Please, do not waste your money at this place. The pictures online are not even close to what this motel looks like, dont get cat-fished!

We stayed at this last night and I do not recommend this to anyone. The refrigerator was rusty the inside of it was overpowering with the smell of bleach, live roaches crawling on the bathroom shower curtain we pulled the sheets back to inspect for any more bugs and to our shock there were 2 old size blood stains on the mattress. When I complained the following morning I was told they would let housekeeping know. Since when is housekeeping a exterminator and as the mattress it shouldn’t have been left in there for anyone unknowingly to sleep on. This was on the main strip in myrtle beach please find somewhere else to stay. It was absolutely beyond disgusting. They are pet friendly and as we were standing there being attacked by fleas!!!!!! There is absolutely one positive thing I can say is we couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

My room was very clean and comfortable with a full sized refrigerator and a microwave. The staff from Lauren and Vick at the front desk to Vanessa, the housekeeper, were very friendly and helpful, as well as professional. My only complaint is that they dont have a weekly rate. My overall experience was just wonderful. I would suggest the Lancer to everyone who is looking for a great value, and friendly people to deal with.

Dont ever book a room at this shady place I booked a room for may 24 2024 they booked m instead for February 23 I called the hotel and told them they made a mistake they want refund m my money back I had 2 call my bank

This was by far the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. The pictures were nothing of the hotel. Lights in the room dodnt work. When you pulled back the covers it was stains all over the sheets. Inside the drawers we found dirty forks and old oreos. The bathroom didnt have any toilet paper.Upon arrival was hell to. They struggled to find our reservation.Luckily we were there for 1 night, 100 percent would not recommend.

Bedbugs!! Bedbugs!! Bedbugs!!we found one immediately upon entering the room killed it and gave it to the front desk. the front desk clerk lost it and had to wait 30 minutes for maintenance to show up and not find any more in the room. We asked for another room and they denied it. We asked for a refund, and they denied it. I called corporate to ask for a refund and they denied it.As a last resort I am writing this review to warn others!DO NOT STAY HERE!

We had to leave. The room was rough, curtains broken, tall refrigerator had some kind of burned blistering on it, and it had roaches. It also needed a better door lock.The person checking us in was nice. I would like my money back. We had to leave and pay to stay at another hotel.

This place is horrible! It made us feel unsafe walking to our room. It looks nothing like advertised. Our room was dirty and smelled weird. The fridge had mold and rust all over it with a black sludge dripping out of it. There was a smashed bug smeared all down the wall. No trash can. It advertised a nice clean area with a computer to work away from home and a lil breakfast area which we never seen. The doors were locked and we had to check in thru a slit in a window. There were also no outlets to charge devices unless we wanted to unplug the tv, fridge or air conditioner

We didnt stay at the motel. We called to find out if they had any rooms available. The guy who we talked to over the phone asked us how many people was going to stay. My husband said its me my wife and 2 kids age 10 and 6. The guy said we have to book two different rooms because my 10 years old is consider an adult. Who would let their 10 year old stay in a room alone at motel??? Ridiculous...

Nice people, but horrible room! My husband and I got bed bug bites all over we didn’t notice till the end of our vacation day so we unfortunately couldn’t report it. On the website it appears to say it’s a hotel when in reality it’s a Motel! As soon as you walk in the door hits against the bed. everything looked dirty the bed sheets and pillows had stains not to mention the huge hole on the wall in the bathroom that felt completely uncomfortable I felt like my privacy was invaded! The peep hole had no glass it was just a hole. This whole experience was horrible and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.‼️

Saw look nice hotel(definitely motel) online. For me that’s old fashioned motel outside and a few furniture inside…not too bad. When, you taking a bath shower and warm or hot water about 5 minutes or less. Parking a lot unfit because enter/exit same ways. Motel needed some remodel and replacing doors. Saw roach probably came from nest…water leaked? My understanding there’s beautiful beautiful nearby and shops. Next year I have to be careful and searching good hotel as 3-4 stars.

My wife and I are familiar with Myrtle Beach. We lived here fur 7 years. Ill tell you right away, this is not the best area, but no one gave us any trouble. There was no loitering or drug deals etc that we saw. It was a relatively quiet trip- it was the week before Labor Day- not any loud guests or parties. Were actually staying there because Weve been displaced from our apartment in Charleston and came to visit family and best friend.we were fortunate And the first night was 65. We got another two nights at about same rate, then the 4th night jumped to 150 bc of holiday . they did offer us our 150 deal if we stayed again, instead of online price of 250$ but we couldnt swing it. Oh and the staff is friendly and helpful. Theres a pool but we didnt use bc I forgot swimsuit but it looked nice and decent size.theres a vending machine with canned coke And a gas station next door. We traveled with our 2 big dogs so they are pet friendly. Theres 2 patches of grass to take them, just be careful up front - the road is very busy. Overall, good stay - we booked 3 nights for 200 next week after holiday rates dropped.The rooms were clean, the linens were pretty comfortable. The one room we had a microwave and full sized fridge. Which Is convenient when you have no where to go. Yeah the rooms are outdated a bit, but it was clean and didnt smell or have bugs. Saw pest control when we we There. It is only few blocks from beach.the pictures are not accurate.

Our first time walking to our room you could smell pot in the hallways. The room was clean in places. Housekeeping was definitely cleaning with bleach but anything metal in the room was rusty and certain parts of the floor were stained permanently. Our balcony door was rusted shut, and it looks like someone had recently dyed their hair red in the bathroom as there were random red splatters all over the bathroom. Also, we spent our second night being kept up half the night by people in the room next door screaming at each other. 2 stars because there were no roaches or bed bugs.

I had no real issue with this hotel. The staff were very nice, the room was clean and good for the price. It is 3 blocks from the beach and not far from the boardwalk area. My complaint would be its location and their sign. Their sign says Lancer with OYO under it. I suggest adding Lancer to your listings. We drove in circles trying to find it lol. It appears there is some cleanup going on around the outside though. I would recommend this hotel.

Did not stay just looked at the outside of the building and it was so run down that I canceled within minutes of booking it and they say it is free cancelations and they will not charge you and you can pay at the property well they told a lie. They charged my bank and now they don’t want to refund my money even though we did not even walk in the nasty building. Nobody should stay here at all. Plus I reported them to the BBB.

The people in the office tells you to keep your toddler in the room they aint allowed to play and they have to be quiet or you get kicked out they complained about my 2yr old and kicked us out cause he was outside playing and being a child. Your not allowed to drink outside your room either but their housekeepers and maintenance people can drink all day long while working and walking around

This hotel while location was great (that’s what the 1 star is for), the room was awful. Comforters were torn and some debris all over sheets - walls had something all over them - I was afraid to touch them. Cobwebs all over walls as well. We asked for non-smoking - got a smoking. We went and bought our own sheets and pillows and bed bug spray (just to be safe ). The pool was condemned by DHEC- and I didn’t feel safe at night walking to and from the room. Will not be back - on a side note - this could be a great place with some upkeep!!!

Horrible. First when I booked the room it did not give me the actual name of the hotel. Tried calling the number on my email and it called a place in Puerto Rico. I googled the address and found the real number but no one answered. So I googled the address again and it kinda gave better directions. Rooms were nasty. Looked like blood had been cleaned off the walls. Floors were dirty. Only good thing was there was a security guard( which was very nice and helpful) that sat outside to watch over the area. At least we didnt have to worry about our vehicle.

You couldnt pay me to stay here again. We only came for one night, and I was ready to run out the minute I stepped in! From mold in the shower, to rusty refrigerators, to discolored/old gross paint on the walls, to the smoke smell in the room that made all of my clothes in my suitcase smell just as bad, this place is on my top five DO NOT VISIT list!! They were decently friendly, but that doesnt make up for where I had to sleep! I also woke up with watery eyes and a runny nose, so the place is probably covered in mold in the walls and stuff as well. Something had to cause that reaction! It was gross! The price may be tempting, but dont do it!!!

Worst hotel I have ever stepped in. There is Roaches and bed bugs in the room. The ac unit was messed up didnt work right and front falling off it. Management is rude and have very poor attitudes and note helpful to anyone. I refused to stayed there even though I didnt get a refund. I would not let my dogs stay in that dump.

The OYO hotel Is nasty. It is misleading and not up to part. It look nothing like the pictures that they show on the website. They have roaches The curtains have holes so its not black out curtains. The furniture the chairs and the refrigerator is nasty. This is ridiculous when youre paying 300 plus a night.

Roaches are all in the bed with you, sheets wasnt changed (I had to call housekeeping at 2am in the morning on the first night to get fresh sheets on the bed) , air vent clogged up with dust (when you turn it on a dust storm enters your throat). And the bathroom is so Filthy t(the toilet over flow on first nigh had to get a Plunger from the maintenance at 2:00 a.m. in the morning). Tub dirty. This place is Disgusting and if i could give it a half star i would. My husband says he would Give them a caution sign. 🛑Meaning proceed with caution. I said a stop sign. Stop turn around and go to a better place. Sleep in your car not this place!

Employees were kind and friendly, renovations were up to date, quite stay, enjoyed my night stay, well worth the stay, plus side to they accept cash instead of having debit in time of need. I will be staying there in the future!

I booked 2 nights at this hotel last month. When I got there they gave me a room that smelled like cigarettes and the AC wasnt running so it was hot and muggy. I told them I wanted a refund because I didnt want to stay there. The lady at the desk said she would void out my credit card payment like it never happened. But the payment still showed up and they labeled me a no show, and charged me for both nights still.

The Lancer Motel was below expectation. The place was poorly cleaned the wall paint was quite messed up, the bed spreads had stains and tares, and the closet had a very odd smell. Also the wifi wasnt exactly high speed. In fact it was quite hard to work with.. but the tv and cable was nice a worked just fine. I guess its ok for the price.

Absolutely would not recommend. False advertisement, room looks nothing like the website. First & foremost it’s a motel, not a hotel. Front desk smells like cigarettes. The entire place is just run down. Weed smell all around. I didn’t feel safe at all. The rooms were horrible, bathroom was nasty. Beds were full of sand. Just please find else where to stay.

Clean enough but furniture is all beat up and bed had flat sheets that were too small for the bed. I was a little disappointed at first but the staff were very helpful. I was also pleased that the pool was open. I enjoyed my 6 night stay.

This property doesn’t meet oyo standards! Gaping hole in the drywall in the bathroom of room 103. This motel charges a resort fee that isn’t listed on any booking. I specifically asked if there were any additional fees and was blindsided by a daily resort fee! FALSE ADVERTISING!Will not return to any oyo property due to this experience

This company itself is very disgusting as well as all of the locations that oyo represents. they could have had the common courtesy to refund me my money. The stay was horrible, the room was very disgusting, and all these people want is money. Before you open a business you should make sure it is suitable for guests and not for dirty animals.

The rooms were awful!! Bugs and no bath mats. The beds were sitting on homemade wood and the box springs had mold on them...no extra pillows, the curtains was ripped up, just a total disaster... never again and dont encourage anyone to stay there..

Where do I start. If could give this place a zero rating I would. This is the filthiest place that I have ever stayed in. This place is full of drug junkies that live in this motel. They had roaches coming out of holes that appeared to have been kicked thru the door and the people that were staying or rather living there were constantly coming in and out of the rooms making drug transactions.We did asked for our money back for the remaining nights and they did refunded. I would have rather gone to sleep in our minivan, if I would have just taken time to read the reviews from other people it would have saved us this huge headache as we went looking for another hotel at 4 am in the morning. Save yourself and your family a stay at this disgusting place and look elsewhere.

Booked a room for weekend a month or more in advance. Traveled 7+ hours and arrived to find out that they had overbooked the hotel and we had no room to stay in. We were directed to call customer service and the connectivity on their end was so poor that the agent disconnected with us twice. As a result we spent 3 hours driving around Myrtle Beach to find another hotel and ended up having to pay 4 times the price for a room 40 minutes outside of Myrtle Beach. Contacted customer service again today to request compensation and was denied. DO NOT STAY HERE. Extremely unprofessional.

My husband and I booked this hotel online and was going to pay at the property and when we arrived, we didnt have a room. The man told us that booking online was no guarantee, so we had no room after travel for three hours. Very unacceptable. The main issue was that we received an email that the property contacted Booking.com and told them we were no-show and was going to try and still charge us for the room. Fraud!

I stayed there this passed weekend (July 22nd-25th 2016) and had a horrible experience. There were roaches everywhere. Outside and inside the rooms, as soon as it got dark hundreds came out. The motel room was dirty, the bathroom had dead bugs smashed on the walls. The motel room also had a awful smell to it. Almost smelt like a dead animal. This place should not be in business, I understand people are trying to save money, and find cheap motels, so they have more money to do other fun stuff but this place should never be recommended to anyone! Its awful and should be shut down.

Horrible. First of all, its not a Hotel, its a Motel. The Lancer Inn is the name of it. No where outside does it mention OYO.Looked like a place where people who worked there lived there in building 2.Didnt feel safe at all and gave up my room. I drove 2.5 hours away to my next day destination and paid for another room.It was well worth throwing money away to stay safe.

You get what you pay for. Security and a pool. Never saw a Bed Bug and they are friendly people who help the handicapped. The house cleaning staff is a bit rude when asked to go above and beyond what the average work day is. No one likes to work but....

This place is a dump. Dont be fooled by the pictures. We saw a cockroach on the wall and then 2,3, and more coming from behind the refrigerator. We stayed in the room for 5mins then after we saw the roach we got up and left.

I checked in on the 12th of July and out on the 14th. As soon as we opened the door a big roach went crawling across the floor. This was the worst place Ive ever stayed in. There were even roaches crawling out in the parking lot. However the man Vince was very helpful and nice. DONT STAY HERE.

Clean rooms, very friendly and caring receptionist. Beds made nice and neat, clean bathrooms, and it was pretty quiet stay. I will be coming back again. Oh also it was in a perfect location from the board walk as well all the restaurants.

Place was very nasty. I felt dirty the entire stay. A stained old nonworking refrigerator was in the room. As well as the tub being dirty. Definitely isn’t worth the stay and I do not recommend.

I am currently working on canceling my reservation with them. I just called to make sure they had somewhere to park my rig, and the person was rude, refused to let me finish speaking, and hung up on me.

The manager was so nice, very friendly. Nice basic rooms, very good price, and I will deff be staying here again SOON. It was a last minute decision to come down and this was the only place that I was able to get in contact with or who wasn’t rude or too expensive. So if you’re thinking ehhh about the reviews that have been left on here, forget about them. I was feeling ehh about the reviews I seen, but I’m honestly so glad we decided to stay here.

Was so excited for our stay in myrtle beach for the weekend but took time out of our evening because we had to go find a different place to stay. This place is highly unpleasant and uncomfortable. For those of you looking for something affordable....this is not worth it at all...rather sleep in my vehicle .

I personally have not stayed in this hotel, but service here was absolutely incredible. I had multiple questions when I was about to book and the lady answered all of them thoroughly and professionally. I needed to cancel my reservation due to personal issues that came up and was having trouble doing so. I missed the cancellation date to get full refund but the lady was so incredibly nice and gave it to me anyway. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Cheaper motel but at night cockroaches are crawling everywhere, the refrigerator was rusted and disgusting. The light didn’t work I had to use a lamp. Smashed bugs on the wall. Bugs everywhere. Worse place I’ve stayed at.

The room was cheap, it was very out of date and well overdue for a remodel... I will say that it was clean... So I give the housekeeping a ton of credit... No dirt no bugs etc... The room was not in the best part of town and not very close to the ocean (several blocks away).

The room was a little outdated and dark but it was clean. Everything worked and the AC was kicking, which I love. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice pool and short walk to the beach.

We stayed on June 22, 2019. The place was a DUMP! It was filthy dirty and smelled of stale old cigarettes. The beds were so old they were falling apart and the (4) pillows made 1 average pillow. The pool, parking lot and entire surrounding was dirty. The smoke detectors were covered with garbage bags . The pictures are not even close to what our room actually looked like. Very dirty and shady characters hanging around. Would NEVER recommend to anyone and would not be back.

Me and my wife got a motel room from November 10th to November18th after 2 days after being in the room we noticed that the room was infested with head lice once we complain to management and Oyo motels chain We was then removed from the property and told to leave they did not pay for no treatment of head lice for us or our personal effects but were done wrongly by being evicted I Caution anybody to use this motels especially the one on North Kings Highway Myrtle Beach North Carolina

The most disgusting motel I’ve ever stayed in, i saw at least 5 roaches, The towels were stained, the refrigerator looked terrible and someone was constantly playing loud music. I stayed there for 10 hours and I will never be coming back.

Sadly this place couldnt meet my already low expectations. The front desk clerk was great. I was able to check in early. But the WiFi repeatedly went down. None of the cable channels below 65 were available.

I ignored the stains, rust, falling apart furniture and the bugs covering the walls. After 20 hour driving I was prepared to ignor them. I reached the bottom line when I removed the bed cover and the bugs started to move. 3rd word countries have better jails :)

Horrible. Walls were dirty and there was a smudge of some thing black and sticky on the headboard. Bugs here as well. Wish I’d read the reviews on here first. There is a $14 fee for WiFi and it is unbearably slow (1-2 bars of strength.) Fridge in room didn’t work and smelled horrible. Freezer was basically a fridge, both were on coldest setting. Room smelled like smoke and the floors were dirty. Would not recommend to anyone.

Amazing employees, clean room, comfortable beds, close to the beach. This is a family owned hotel and I would highly reccomend it to everyone. I dont know where all the negative reviews are coming from, bc Ive stayed several times and never had a single problem..but thats only bc I didnt cause a problem. So Im guessong most of the negative reviews were from problem starters.

They said one prise then it was a nother. There was two airconde in a two bedroom. One work and the there dont. The fan dont work. Had to sleep in the heat. They said if we need anything use the phone in the room. There was no phone in there room my boyfriend and my son and I couldnt find it. The shenk in the bathroom was following of the wall and the dean had was not on it. They was using the grabs can for it. There was the two bags on the floor for us to use. Had two TV in each room, but one redmont in the room. This was for our youngest son birthday that weekend too. He had to stay at his grandparents house. Yes we had fun, but we should had at room that was cool to sleep in. It was hot that weekend. From July 14 until the 16.

The service is great, ready to help and very friendly! The room is amazing and clean. We had two bathrooms and the water is hot! We will definitely return to this motel in the future!

Nice people because they gave me my money back... but after i sat there 2 hours trying to find another hotel because whoever pictures they use to get people to stay there ... thats the only room that looks like that .... where to begin... first people stay here like living for years so the parkinglot looks like a storage unit ... a messy one there was bugs from the door to the bathroom.. i feel bad for the people who dont ahve the money in there account to wait for the refund and get anothe roorm..... they truely trick you ... thats why its always a good reason to read the reviews before buy renting or using any online services ... this place should be picked up and moved to a dark corner

Very unclean location. Towels are hard. And very old. Insects found on floor in room and in tub. Building is dirty inside and outside. Bed covers are ripped with holes.

I stayed here last night and a roach crawled into bed with me!!!!!! I freaked out and called the front desk, though I had been drinking and the guy told me oh its probably just a palmetto bug.... I DONT CARE WHAT ENDEARING NAME YOU HAVE GIVEN TO A ROACH! IT IS A FRIGGIN ROACH! Now I have developed some sort of eye infection from what I have no idea..... I am calling the health dept. and reporting them tomorrow! NEVER STAY THERE!

June 25th 2016 I stayed there ONE NIGHT and woke up with HUNDREADS of bites all over my body , so did my friend , DENIED the bed bugs when another worker already mentioned there were bed buds there previously in the room right next to mine , I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ROOM TO ANYONE ESPECIALLY IF U HAVE SMALL CHILDREN !

I was just there to pick someone up. It was not a good experience. The security guard was very nasty towards me, even when I said I was there to pick up someone who stayed there. I wasnt even trying to get out of the car, he just was not nice.

Its exactly what youd expect from a 2-star motel. That is not that bad. There was no mircowave. There was no phone, but the area is lax and there is a lot of freedom to be had in a 2-star. When the family comes to the Pancer, the party is real.

My issue still hasn’t been resolved the hotel that I booked for my driver didn’t look anything like the pictures there was a crack pipe found on the floor of the room the door looked kicked in and my driver didn’t stay there he checked right out of the room after finding a crack pipe and they still haven’t issued my refund for the room that wasn’t safe to stay in and management of the hotel out in myrtle beach didn’t care because I booked room through a third party

I cant speak to the accomidations of this place, but I can speak to my displeasure in trying to retrieve a refund for a little over 2 months. Thier customer service is inept. The people are very nice, but extremely inept handling operational administration.😔

I stayed here on 4-24-2021 I’ve been there for about 3hr max me and my son was bitten up by bed bugs room 106 I left in the middle of the night yes my deposit was given back but the pain and suffering is not worth any amount of money my son got bites on his forehead also my legs and arms are bitten up this is not a safe place to go all they told me was they were sorry and the people that stayed there before never said nothing for all we know they could have been the one bringing them in DO NOT STAY HERE you better off sleeping in your car....

THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH ROACHES!, I dont recommend this place to anyone....I know sometimes when you go on vacation you dont want to spend a lot of money on the room so you can go out and do other things....this room was cheap but the one night we stayed in this hotel it had very shady people staying there in and hanging around the motel also the room had a god awful smell, the refrigerator was leaking water everywhere, the covers on the bed had holes in them, the bathroom was filled with mold all around the tub and around the sink so we couldnt take a shower, also when we were sitting on of the beds we noticed a small bug crawling on the blanket of the other bed we later found out was a German cockroach when we asked for our money back for the room the Night Auditor for the motel said he couldnt do that....please AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!!

We stayed here on April 3 2018 and it was terrible whom ever owns this place really need to shut it down the mattresses are very old, it was holes all on the spreads and the sheets were very worn and thin, the towels were thin and very small, the fridge door looked like someone used it for target practice, it took a while for the water to get hot and the toilet leaked every time it was flushed, walls were dirty and rusty looking we will never stay at the lancer again I cant understand anyone saying this place is nice because it is not please beware

This place is sick of you sleep here your nasty , not even got my cash refund now they trying to charge my card. Be safe is all I can really say.

By far the worst hotel and the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life Rusty refrigerator holes in the bed spreads room not cleaned at 3:30 in the afternoon hole in the bathroom wall filthy mouldings absolutely disgusting and for $146 a day ridiculous

The motel is really nasty and unclean the location sucks but it is very close to the beach within walking distance the pool is nasty and not enjoyable the room was nasty the hotels nasty from the inside and outside and in there and roaches

It Wasnt what it Appeared to be According to the photos on the website. The only thing that really matched up was the overthrow that was on the bed with OYO symbol on it
