My family and I stayed here for 4 days in June and we absolutely loved it the views are beautiful the rooms were spacious and clean and had an amazing time. The waterpark is so fun and there was a jacuzzi in the room. They also have fun activities for the family. We attended the shark tooth hunt and it was free. There was a tour guide and he showed us what they looked like and gave a little lesson. It was so fun my family actually found many and they gave us a little box to put them in. We now look for them every beach we go to! That being said we were greeted horribly. The employee at the front desk named Terri was rude to us and would answer our questions sarcastically and she looked like she hated being there and hated speaking to us even more. I just tried to get through it politely but it definitely ruined my family’s first morning there. When we finally got to our rooms thankfully all that negative energy went away. Disclaimer all the employees were lovely, I would just try to avoid Terri.

We have received very consistent service here over the last several years. We love being right on the beach. Im sure there are different style rooms as there are two very different buildings. Our resort style room has plenty of space and we rarely hear people beside us. The rooms and hallways are kept clean. We love seeing the sunrise in the morning in the activity at Family Kingdom in the evenings.

We came to Westgate a couple weeks ago and we had a wonderful experience on the beach for our anniversary. We decided to go on the timeshare presentation. I will admit we were very skeptical from all the stories we heard. We were partnered with a sales agent named Lesley. She was very elegant, professional, respectful, and pleasant. Such a beautiful soul. She took her time with us to help us understand the program. We purchased because we like to vacation and Lesley made this timeshare worth having. Ask for her. Although, how busy and loud it was we will definitely be visiting every other year to enjoy the beach and to stop by to check in on this young lady.

The air conditioner wasn’t even cooling the room correctly. We made a complaint about that no one ever came. There were sand in the bed and in the sheets we did not get new sheets. Now let’s talk about these so-called timeshare tour. These salesman are good they love the push, but here’s the problem as soon as you sign the dotted line on the timeshare your property values by 85%. Furthermore let’s get a load of this Do not buy the timeshares and here’s the reason why you still had to pay maintenance fees in the maintenance fees will continue to go up. You will continue to be harped on your default. You could lose out on your credit and so on this is a scam people Ramsey was sued for $150 million because he referred people to attorneys that did not help him and try to get them out of their timeshare. A timeshare is a lie just go ahead and get yourself a nice hotel and pay extra money so therefore you don’t have to pay maintenance fees. You don’t have to pay utilities and a whole 9 yards. Do not fall into this. I implore you to stay away from this garbage.

We arrived for our 1 week stay yesterday. The room is the size of a shoebox. That isn’t the worst part… it’s rundown and sloppy in appearance. It looks like a square box that they added 2 small beds to. There isn’t room to even walk comfortably. I was under the impression that the rooms were newly renovated, well that was false advertising because they look like they are 100 years old! The front desk couldnt care less about my concerns and said they didn’t have another room to move us to that was in better condition. It’s a shame because the resort has the potential to be so much better but sadly it’s below par. Do better Westgate!

Our experience staying for Memorial Day Weekend was amazing. The only issue was the crumbs we found in one of the bed sheets after just checking in. But we went to the front desk, and they resolved the issue by changing both bed sheets with no problem. I recommend the ocean view, if you’re looking for a more scenic view. The bar, 2 pools, kiddie pool, lazy river, and jacuzzi were clean and decent. I would definitely visit again!

I was scared after reading all the negative reviews, but this place was amazing! We didnt participate in the timeshare part. It was a nice family vacation. The rooms were perfect and the hotel stayed clean 24/7. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Anytime I had to call the front desk, my call was answered every time with all requests taken care of. Our family enjoyed all 4 pool options as well as the hot tub. I wouldnt mind staying again.

This was our first time at Myrtle Beach, Westgate. Our rooms were very nice and clean. We were able to view and hear the ocean from our patio. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful!! We were able to walk right down to the beach to collect shells and just walk on the beach. We had a wonderful week! Can’t wait to come back.

Our stay this pat week was wonderful. The staff was great our room was very clean. I would recommend eating at Drafts the price is reasonable. Someone placed a flyer for GIANNI’S under our door. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS LOCATION! The delivery people are rude and come to find out the resort did not give them permission to provide the flyers. The resort is pet friendly, but keep in mind they don’t tell you at the time that you are booking with them that they have a pet charge of $150 extra and this is non refundable. They also don’t let you know that they only take cards NO CASH is taken at the resort. They also don’t have a good place to walk your pets it’s not well lite and it’s all rocks that they have to walk on. Thats the only reason why I’m giving it a 4star rating, if the manager had been more understanding about the whole situation about me not being told about the pet fees the rating would have been different. But she did not want to work with me at all!

Don’t waste your money on their lies! Read the reviews before you book! This company has no ethics and no issues lying. The staff are trained to defend the lies and have no concerns for the customers. If you book an Oceanfront or Coastal View room, even if you are an Elite Owner with weeks at Myrtle Beach as your home resort, they don’t care. They told us we didn’t get the room with a view we had booked a year in advance and confirmed repeatedly because this wasn’t our home resort, even though we own 2 weeks here! They told us they had assigned this room a week before our visit, with no reason as to why we ended up with a view of a parking garage! The manager argued that if we lean out over our balcony, we can see a small strip of the ocean between our building and the garage. I’ve never heard anything so stupid in my life. We said this was unacceptable and they stood there saying there’s nothing they can do and nothing is guaranteed here, no matter what you pay or book. The pictures online are lies and they will not honor anything. I have never in my life seen such shameful, uncaring and dismissive customer service as I received from the two guys at the front desk today. Shame on them. Shame on Westgate. We called the resort number and spoke to a woman who said this happens daily. They know they issue and they know how much it upsets everyone and they have zero intention of doing a single thing about it. RUN FROM THIS SCAM! Look at the website photos vs what they stick you with. Make sure you check out the pics for the smoker central right below us, headlights straight into our room constantly, and the SLIVER of that ocean view, just don’t fall off your balcony trying to see it!

This was the worst ordeal ever! We waited an hr+ to check in only to find that the room they gave us not only wasnt clean, it had mold, bugs, and hair in various places. There was also what appeared to be some kind of rust in the shower and dirty microwave. It also looks like a poor attempt to hide the mold with a bad caulking job. They sent us to a second room, and it was just as bad with more disgusting balls of hair, red stain in the mini fridge, and once again rust in the shower. They then say they dont have any more rooms and if I wanted, they could send someone to attempt to clean it...I was like whether I take the room or not, it still needs attention, desperately! This shows a lack of concern for this situation. We were coming for a timeshare, but I dont want to see any lies now that they showed us how they dont take care of the property! This gave me a nasty feel and vibe, and the room smelled like an old resthome by the curtains, which also had dirt/mold on them much like the lamp shade! This was my familys first vacation, and I dont recommend anybody start a vacation with them! When you go to a hotel or a resort of any kind, the least you expect is for the rooms to be clean! Let alone superior service. This place was lacking all of that! Lets see how long it takes to get my full refund! 🤔 NEVER AGAIN!

We came here knowing we would do a timeshare presentation and yes, timeshare presentations can take a few hours everywhere. That being said we were very impressed with the staff, cleanliness of room, the managers willing to make the best accommodations possible, easy access to attractions, the view, and heated pool that we went with the timeshare. I’m excited to come back here as often as possible and enjoy all Myrtle Beach has to offer. Shout out to Theresa front desk manager, then Bill and Austin with the Timeshare side. Highly recommended! 👏

When we first arrived we didnt realize there was going to be tropical storm so none of the amenities like pools or restaurants were open. Then we has to pay a resort fee that I thought had already been paid from the amount I paid for the room online. If I pay a reader fee I expect to get something from that money I paid, but alas nothing not even a complimentary breakfast only for the timeshare tours. The floors were still dirty under the beds like the housekeeping completely ignored during the last cleaning before we checked in. The exhaust fan didnt work in the bathroom and there was a large Crack in the bathtub that had just been caulked over. The toilet didnt even flush properly. We wont ever be coming to a westgate resort again.

First off let me let you know that we did enjoy our trip and the NASCAR race. Now for the issues that we faced from our room to the presentation on Thursday afternoon. When we opened the door to our room we found a few piles of dirt/sand that had been left by house keeping. The toilet was broken and had to be fixed. The television broke and had to be replaced and the drawers on the dresser kept coming open. The presentation representative was absolutely fabulous and worked with us throughout the time. After we were greeted by her we were taken to the what I would call the dining area but is not used for that purpose. The noise in there was absolutely horrible. You couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you without talking louder. Now put 20-30 people doing that in addition to the music being played. My wife has medical issues and was not able to be in the room so we asked to be moved. The representative got permission from a manager to move. Now we’ve been in the meeting for 2 hours and we get told we still had to tour the place and meet with a manager. NO!!!! Again with medical conditions the advertised 90 minute presentation had already extended longer than expected.Lastly after a 12 hour day on Sunday after the NASCAR race some kinda accommodations should have been made for FOOD upon arrival back at the resort. Everything but 2 restaurants closed at 10pm and we rolled into the resort at 9:50pm. How do you think IHOP or Denny’s would react when 100+ people arrive after 10pm without being advised. Thanks for a great weekend and hopefully you understand our concerns.Norman Johnson

We have stayed at this oceanfront hotel over the past two 4th of July holiday and we enjoy the hotel and location, which cant be beat. You have the lazy rivers, pools, and beach party with fireworks on the 4th. Family Kingdom Amusement Park is right across the street with restaurants and activities within walking distance. We had our rook overlooking the oceanfront and lazy river and this year we overlooked the front of the hotel Family Kingdom. There is an Activities Team for property parties and bingo by the pool($). There is parking but if you want parking out front checkin early. Otherwise, park in thr parking garage. The presentations are either morning with breakfast or afternoon with lunch. You eat, discuss Westgate properties then tour a nicer stay in their newest tower. Those units have kitchen and w/d and jetted tub jn the master suite. Complimentary cookies are a treat :) They can run over if you are not diligent with the max time. Purchase if you care to tack on a bill to your expenses or pass if you do not and return to your vacation.

Im rating a star 1. Due to your pet policy. You will schedule my stay take my money take the pet fee money knowing I have a dog. If you have a dog run dont stay here. 1st day arrived at 230 to 3 they checked me in know problem please note I paid the pet fee for my stay. At about 730ish I received a message that my. Dog was disturbing other guest. My dog barked maybe for a min or 2 until I could calm her down. It was her first night somewhere new. After a 15 hour drive with many stops for the pup. Now when you pay almost 2100 for 5 days you think they would understand that you have a dog and dogs do bark. Now if your pet friendly and another guest complains that they hear a dog barking at a reasonable hours you should explain to that GUEST THAT YOUR HOTEL IS PET FRIENDLY NOT MESSAGE ME WITH THE COMPLAINT ON MY FIRST DAY. I wouldnt state your pet friendly more like money hungry. The rest of my vacation I spent in my more with my dog and never got a vacation. Complete waste of money. On the other hand if my dog was barking after 830 or 9 when guest have children and my dog continues barking was keeping there family up I completely understand. It 7 cmon now. Also I have called multiple times to try to get in contact with someone with no response.

We checked into the hotel and were given a room outside of the ice machine on a floor where there was a family reunion. We had a toddler and the noise was awful all night with people yelling and using the ice machine. In the morning we realized our shower and toilet didnt work. We were given another room without any assistance in moving to that room. We were told that due to Covid (4 years ago) that we wouldnt get any housekeeping for our stay. The sand was everywhere in our beds and floors. Only one elevator worked most of the time and we had to pay for chairs and umbrellas on the beach. All the time we were there they held tours for their timeshare. They only had one restaurant open due to Private Events. We couldnt get any chairs in the pool area and was extremely crowded. I wouldnt recommend this facility nor would we ever return.

Parking- front parking can be crowded during check-in. The parking garage is extremely tight and difficult to maneuver in a large vehicle. If your room is located in the newer tallest tower you have to park, take the elevator down to 1st floor, cross the parking garage to enter your building then take another elevator to your floor. (Very inconvenient)On site restaurants- We ate at Drafts the first night. Our pretzel came out hard and burnt. The staff that delivered our food didn’t speak English so she didn’t understand us when we refused to accept the food. Pricey!! The coffee shop offers Starbucks but for about $2.00 more than off site.Rooms- nice and good sized. Everything appeared clean. Negatives- shower stunk like soured water and controls didn’t work. Overhead shower kept dripping cold water as I tried to shower with the front shower head. Our bedroom window had a slated shade but it allowed so much light in at night we went to Walmart and bought black trash bags to block out the light! Our room was on the outside near the road and Family Kingdom amusement park. Needless to say we had to wear earplugs every night to get sleep. There is no insulation between rooms! We heard every word of our neighbors conversations. The hotel is still using Covid as an excuse to not offer room/maid service!😡 we had to empty our own trash and washed our own washcloths.

I stayed at your resort in Myrtle Beach with my daughter from 05-25-24 through 06-01-24. The room was a nice size, beds were nice, linens were a bit stained, but clean. Loveeddd the balcony with the ocean view and the chairs to relax in and people watch when we got back to our room. I had TWO very large issues. The first was a resort fee slapped on us when we checked in, that was never communicated to us prior to that moment (it took a 100 dollars out of our entertainment budget we were not expecting) . The biggest problem we had however was the fact that we could not shower, we were lucky to get 4 small streams in our room and did not find that out until the evening on our first night there when we were coming in, exhausted, sand covered from the Beach and fully situated in our room. Really changed the tone of winding down for the day, when we couldnt be fully clean. Also, tourists who are not time share owners should also be acknowledged by your staff. If not for the surprise fee and the shower issue. I would have gone all 5 stars, regardless of staff indifference.

I live locally to the Westgate resort in Myrtle beach. It was chilly in December and I know somebody that owns there and had some time that was going to expire. So I figured why not just book it there and I can hang out whenever I wanted to. I ended up getting a room for 2 weeks and it didnt cost me muchI got a two-bedroom two-bathroom unit on the corner in the building above drafts restaurant. Units were very nice. the jacuzzi tubs nice. balcony, and the nice kitchen in the bathrooms are always awesome. The employees and customer service reps were great. I tried doing something online with my reservation and couldnt be done. The girl downstairs at the resort tried helping me as best as possible and she brought it to her head manager and they were able to get it done for me. I was very happy about that..Parking garage situation kind of stinks though its just awkward the first time I parked there I was going up and down each floor in the elevator is trying to figure out how to get into the building. You have to park? From the bottom of the parking garage you need to go out the ground level on the other side that you come in from and walk to the next building. This was not ideal when it was 30° and the wind was whipping all through there from the ocean.I wish I would have taken more advantage of it and stay there more often than I did. But since I live close by the going back and forth was not ideal. Especially with my dog. Speaking of that Westgate being pet friendly is awesome! Its close to all of the attractions, plenty of restaurants. The family kingdom amusement park is literally right across the streetI also stayed at their property in Gatlinburg which is very nice as well.Even though Ive already recommended this place to multiple people I will continue do you recommend anyone looking for a place.

Tiki bar was open the last day of our stay so we were very happy about that! AC was not working, sand was found on the sheets, mold on the bathroom floor, and they did not give us any new linen as requested. Beware that they shoot fireworks after 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays, which is illegal but they don’t care. As an Army veteran with PTSD, I had panic attacks all night. They made us go to a timeshare presentation which is a complete scam. They will try to push you to get the timeshare, but don’t do it. I know this is something pretty odd to compliment, but the refrigerator worked so well :) Our drinks were cold shortly after putting them in there! The staff at this resort are all so hospitable and helpful. Everyone we came across greeted us so pleasantly from the time we arrived to the time we left. Westgate reached out our second night (through text) to ask about our stay so far. I said it was great just had a couple of small problems. They responded immediately and said they would have someone there in the morning. Maintenance came the next morning as promised and come to find out it was user error (sorry). Thats great customer service! We signed up for the timeshare tour during booking. We did the 90 minute tour with the lovely Ms. Josha and she was great! Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We did purchase a unit and we have no buyers remorse. If it makes sense for you financially, this is a great place to invest in. I am so glad I did not let the negative reviews close my mind. Westgate Resorts is a high-pressure scam. We even tried to cancel within the first 10 days of our purchase, but were told the offices were closed due to the pandemic. Westgate Resorts only solution has been to downgrade us. We have never used this timeshare. After wasting half a day of our vacation to trick us through lies. Their deals are not deals, they are part of the scam so they can lie to you. After you discover they lied, Westgate Resorts will tell you that you signed a contract and cannot prove any of the salespeople lied to you. So keep in mind, if you stay at a Westgate Resort, find the post office and send that certified letter backing out before you get home from your vacation. You only have a few days. Westgate Resorts will not buy the property back, or let you even return it. They will not help you rent, it is not an investment. You cannot stay on your vacation schedule. Really negative experience with this company being an owner at the resort!! Do not recommend anyone to become an owner! Resort is fine enough to visit, but I would never go to a presentation again. They sold us a scam and we were ripped off buying a timeshare here. Not worth the money. Sales people sold it to us as an investment property and acted like it was worth a lot of money and could sell it later on. Let me tell you, there is no market at all to sell these timeshares and even if you can find someone to give it to, its extremely unlikely to get even half of what you paid for it back. From what Ive seen it would be hard to even get 1/4 of what they charged us for it even if we could find a buyer. They went on about how much it would save us on vacations, but failed to bring up all the extra fees we did not understand we were getting into. So it is absolutely not saving any money on vacations! We would have way more options and travel way cheaper if we never bought a timeshare! Its ridiculous. Not worth even listening to the presentation. Worst part is they REFUSE to let us return the TS. So if you cant sell it and they wont let us out no matter what weve dealt with.... Then I guess youre just stuck for life with fees that keep going up!

We sat through a timeshare presentation, painful would be an understatement. Told it was 90 minutes. We were nearly there for 3 hours. We were shown beautiful “setup” rooms which were nothing short of glorified hotel rooms. So, hard to say what the actual rooms are like. View of the ocean was great. Location to attractions also great, except for outskirts are the not so good parts of MB. Pools are sub par/very small/ narrow. Staff was friendly. Better hotels to stay at within a short distance. Judging from the presentation itself and pushiness of staff (we have done these before) I would never stay here to be honest. Better hotels who would be grateful to have your company without having to have a stand setup on the boardwalk to solicit timeshare presentations. Seemed like they were trying hard to compensate to retain guests. A hard no for us.

I love the location and convenience of the resort. The first few nights were fine, apart from noisy guests next door. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only downside is that room service and cleaning weren’t available, which doesn’t make any sense for the amount of money we paid. There are not a lot of food options available on site. Overall, this is definitely a great place for families! The room we stayed in was clean but had no regular-sized towels. Im glad we bought our own.

During our vacation from Toronto to Myrtle Beach, a man approached my family, including my 6 month old baby and fiancé, while we were on a walk. He engaged us in conversation, asking about the babys name and where we come from, and he claimed he had a gift for us, insisting he wasnt selling anything or seeking money. Trusting him as fellow human beings, we followed him to a wheel where he asked me to spin it. Initially, it landed on a $50 gift card, but he spin the wheel and moved it to another option labeled Vcay. Although I didn’t mind, he instructed me to spin again, this time it landed on Vacy. He continued by inquiring about our ages and marital status to see if we qualified for his offer. Eventually, he directed us to a desk where he attempted to convince us to watch a show and stay at a specific hotel, despite our concerns about our babys needs. Realizing we had been misled, I expressed my disappointment to him as another worker walked in, I label the experience as a waste of time and expressed frustration. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, the man who had initially approached us resorted to calling me stupid, leaving me feeling upset and disrespected. This incident shows how the mans actions were misleading and manipulative, ultimately leading to a sense of betrayal and frustration on our part.If you see these guys in boardwalk just keep walking!!

What a scam for real. I decided to sign up for a timeshare and when I went home to review paperwork with a lawyer so many hidden fees and so many red flags that I was appalled. I have no idea how these people can sit there and lie in your face knowing damn well what those contracts hide and how they deceive you and if you don’t know any better that in the state of SC you have 5 days to rescind a contract you get sucked into something for life.Never again. Not for a cheap trip, not for a getaway, not for nothing. It’s a damn shame they lie in your face to get you to sign your life away and then hit you over the head. So thankful I had a lawyer help me out before I got stuck and really in some trouble.DO NOT GET A TIMESHARE.Not to mention that hotel is in the GHETTO. No thanks.

My son and I stayed here for his graduation trip. Overall I had a great experience with this resort. The security was top notch and staff were welcoming and helpful. It seemed that someone was always cleaning which I liked but would have liked to have more effort in cleaning the bathroom in my room. Although I did not have young children staying with me I did observe a great effort on part of the resort to provide a family friendly atmosphere. Lastly, I would have liked to have more information provided about how to rent chairs and umbrellas to use in the beach. Again, great place to stay and very affordable and was also close to restaurants.

After staying at this resort I think itd be more appropriate for a family trip with its price and the types of food/amenities offered (plus being right across the street from a small amusement park). As a 30-something couple we found it to be a little underwhelming.I think the pictures of the resort oversell it a bit. The lobby and common areas of the property are very nice, but our room was plain and dated. The TV was pretty basic cable which wasnt a huge issue for me, but seemed like lower quality youd expect from a resort. The water pressure in the sink and shower was abysmal. The pools were pretty small, I cant imagine what theyre like during peak season. The lazy river was warm, but the main pool was also supposed to be heated and it didnt really feel like it was. The towel racks were pretty empty of clean towels most of the time. The restaurant on site was fine for a sports bar, but there are basically no vegetarian options available (without modifying a menu item). The pizza place seemed expensive since it was just getting made at the same counter that was selling coffee and ice cream. The poolside bar wasnt open at all during our trip and the store seemed to be closing two hours earlier than posted (I assumed because it was off season, but there was never any actual indication why). We also saw two roaches on the property which seems to be indicated in other reviews here. Having no breakfast included was also a bummer. Especially since it seemed like you DID get breakfast if you wanted to sit in a timeshare meeting for what seemed like hours. There were a number of great breakfast buffets in the area at least. As I started with, I think this would be a great place to stay closer to the Summertime with a family when there is more going on off property. I dont think Id return as just a couple during the time we did.

We had a good experience at this resort. Our room was recently renovated, and everything looked new except for the tub. We enjoyed the heated lazy river and the pool bar very much. Location is in a quieter area, which we liked. Rooms and hotel are very clean. We brought our 2 dogs and loved being able to have them with us. The beach has powdery sand but also lots of good seashells. We did not get hounded by timeshare reps to take the free breakfast/timeshare spiel and that was VERY appreciated... as honestly I nearly canceled our reservation after reading some reviews about that. All we got was a phone call offering the breakfast, so were thankful they werent pushy.I took off one star because there is not a pet relief area, the pool bar is only open for a few hours during the day, and there is currently a bit of construction going on which makes the hot tub/whirlpool inaccessible right now. But overall weve had a solid stay and really enjoyed it.

This place is very loud all day long, not a relaxing place. They have music blasting while they have tons of people coming and going as they try to sale Time Shares to couples.. Way too busy to enjoy a quiet vacation. There were pets all throughout the building as they say they are pet friendly. People leave their dogs in their room and they constantly bark. We ask to be moved and the girl at the front desk lied to us. As we asked for management, the manager miraculously was able to change our rooms. Hmm.The water pressure is very low. It was hard to shower in low pressure. Also, the toilets takes 2 flushes each time. The fan in both bathrooms never worked, as it gets really hot when you shower. There is not enough plugs in rooms to charge phones, etc.As we both had a phone needing to charge. As far as cleanliness, it was good. Never had a issue with that. But overall, this was not worth what we paid for this vacation. We have stayed at other places that were way more private and roomy. And did not allow pets. This is not a place for pets. As there were larger breed of dogs as well. A man was going to enter the elevator with me and had a large dog. I told him, he needs to take another one. It was on a leash, but that leash would do no good in an enclosed elevator with another person if it decided to bite. Our stay was from Thursday to Sunday as we Check out tomorrow. Please, do your research as we did not. We were told it was a nice place. We were not aware of the busy crowds.

Wow we were so happy with the service and the room! The beach was great and would for sure recommend it for a family with children because of the multiple pools. We tried out the restaurant and it was good.Walking distance to other places to eat and staff can help guide you. The beach was so clean and safe feeling. We walked the beach and watched the fisherman catch a small shark. There were new shells each morning and the Sunrise view was the most amazing!! We felt like we were alone in the world watching the power of God holding back the ocean and raising up a beautiful sun🥰

Called the front desk thinking clearly I got the wrong room, and they state I can see a partial ocean view and partial city view from my room. I have to walk out on the balcony and see a tiny slither. Majorly disappointing! I would not recommend a place that would mislead people in such a way. I asked well can I upgrade to ocean front? This is by far one of the worst vacation experiences I have ever had. I purchased my package from a third party, so my expectations werent that high. The hotel is fine. Its nothing fancy, just a basic hotel. One big thing is that our tub was clogged, so each time we took a shower, the water slowly ran out. My BIGGEST complaint is the timeshare presentation. These people advertised that the presentation would be an hour and a half to two hours. We literally were in the presentation from 9:30 A.M. until 2 P.M. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS. Both my partner and I repeatedly told them that we werent interested. The closer was pushy, slightly rude, and wouldnt take no for an answer. We never showed one glimmer of being interested, but we literally were kept there in this ridiculous presentation against our will. I work from home, so Im working while at the hotel. I told them I had a call at 2PM for work, they still were bringing more and more offers, ignoring my plans. After we were finally released, some other worker in the sales department came with more questions and offers of staying in another one of their locations at a discounted price. I kept saying no to her as well, and she had a slight attitude about that. I told her we were pressed for time, but she rudely continued anyway. Long story short....I will NEVER stay at another Westgate property because of this and I will NEVER purchase a timeshare property from them and if asked, will advise others not to purchase from them either.

First, before I start, this hotel accommodates dogs. I wish I knew that!!!My husband and I are doing a road trip, 1st stop, 3-night stay oceanfront. e came down on Thursday. Nice and quiet. Friday came, and it was over. The turn-up was crazy and off-season. However, Im sure its not in comparison to peak season. I definitely would come back off-season, back to the hotel. The weather was beautiful. I wish that they had a jacuzzi, outdoor heated pool, kiddie splash pad, and lazy river was small. Now the funny part is the advertisement for a lap one collection. If it is 3ft, two lanes, and ten hops, Im length what you swimmer only need have at it. Ill scrap my darn knees. The hotel is under construction, where the jacuzzi is located. With that, I have to laugh; the idea that its there for the size of this hotel is disrespectful, lol. No more than five people will fit.The room was okay for just sleeping; the bathroom was tiny. The shower was tight. The propane outdoor tables were broken, and the standard gym was.As I mentioned, if you are visiting for sleep and basic. Accommodation because the beach is the reason for your visit, then okay. We did not have any complaints. We did do the 8hr timeshare tours. 😔😡. They were extremely pushy expecting us to buy even after we told them multiple times “no”Waste of time. Hotel is run down, our toilet was broken right when we got there, no hot tub, price of drinks are outrageous. According to the guy that gave us our presentation, they are getting ready to tear down the hotel portion and rebuild more resorts. Starting with the room first thing, in the living room the remote didn’t work , the toilet wouldn’t flush unless you waited 20 minutes for the water to build up, we had to kill a few roaches because the jetted tub had holes in the size where they were crawling through which we filled with paper towels and we couldn’t get any extra face towels, towels, or garbage bags call the front desk several times they would not leave anything leave anything at our door . I went to the lobby to try to pick some up and they would not hand us any continue to say they will bring it to our room so for four nights, we didn’t get any extra anything. Parking is horrible. You have to park in a parking garage take a couple elevators just to get to your room so God forbid you have a lot of luggage or beach tents that you have to carry. We paid for Oceanview. They gave us a half of the view of the ocean and the other half of a empty lot before then we had to change the room because we had a view of a parking garage and we just wasn’t gonna settle for that. I have been to Westgate in Orlando and it was immaculate. This place should be called a motel. Definitely shouldn’t be called a Westgate, it was horrible. Beyond Disappointment: A Warning to Travelers Scam Alert(BEWARE) This is a TIMESHARE Resort, your family deserves a better vacation than this.Very Offensive Timeshare Manager staff Jill was verbally assaulting tourists, bombarded by timeshare signups. They are dishonest form the moment you walk in. Seriously, calling their guests names and arguing with tourists and making a scene.Such misleading practices and subpar hospitality should not go unnoticed, and I genuinely hope that corrective actions are taken against this establishment and involved staff in the near future. Staff also lie about the incentives offered and do not give what they promise at the beginning. This establishment seems to prioritize its timeshare sales agenda over genuine hospitality, often at the expense of truthfulness. Travelers seeking a great vacation experience might want to look elsewhere to ensure they get the vacation they truly deserve. One last thing, watch out for the surprise fees that may show up on your credit card. Everything that happened will be reported to consumer affairs as well as many other agencies and establishments hoping for a resolve of this situation.TLDR BELOW (THE JUICY DETAILS)After a 3-4 hour tour (promised to be 90 minutes) and despite repeatedly expressing our disinterest in purchasing the timeshare, the persistence of the Timeshare Manager, Jill (who, I believe, mentioned her last name as Kimble), became increasingly unsettling. What began as an assertive sales pitch quickly devolved into an aggressive and personal attack on me in front of the entire room of guests.I attempted to convey my discomfort to Jill, mentioning my mental health challenges, which her demeanor and name-calling exacerbated. She called me mean, accused me of lying, and hurled so many other derogatory names that I cant recall them all. Rather than showing understanding or compassion, she responded with more accusations, even claiming she had preemptively judged our purchasing intentions upon first sight, asserting she knew I wouldnt purchase a timeshare the moment she saw me.Our situation became a public spectacle, with both Jill and I raising our voices and arguing aggressively, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. Another group present said they had a similar experience. When I asked Jill for permission to leave, having fulfilled our end of the agreement, she responded vindictively. She continued to withhold our incentives claiming she can be here all day and deliberately engaged another group, all the while casting derisive smirks in our direction, clearly attempting to prolong our discomfort.Such blatant disregard for potential clients feelings and mental well-being is alarming and casts a shadow over the establishment.

I talked to three people who begged me not to cancel. Yesterday I called to finally make my reservation. Which I did which i was planning for close to my birthday to potentially become an owner and also to celebrate my upcoming 40th.I received the dates I wanted, but a few hours later they called me and said that I have a previous relationship to hotel. I told the represenative that I did not. I have stayed one time more than 10 years ago.I did vacation to Myrtle Beach often, I met my partner there who lost his mother and we live together ever since this tragedy occurred.Anyway they tell me that I have to have my presentation with another company because of this false previous relationship that I am suppose to have with them, which I dont have.I am already not satified with this as to when I frequently visited, I had a bad experience at a hotel, therefore I am very picky about where I stay. So they tell me to go tour with this other company, but the company wants me to make reservations without telling me where I am staying. And although I paid a discounted price for the tour/reservation this highly concerns me.First of all my reservation is denied over a false accusation, next you want me to tour somehere but cant tell me where I am staying? How about just refund me my money? Oh no that cant happen because you only give refunds to people within 30 days of the purchase. And I could understand that under normal circumstances but I did not pay my money to stay anywhere, I paid it to stay at WestGate. If I owned at WestGate I would use my ownership to travel there.I would think that they would treat people that they want to potentially become owners with better service. The rooms are decent at least though. and the locations is great. The “gentleman” in the tour department, black, thin with long dreads was rude, unhelpful and solidified my decision not to purchase a time share at a location with such horrendous customer service. We took the room on a deal for doing a tour of the time shares. Prior to the vacation, I asked 3 separate call reps if I’d need to prove income. They all said no. So we brought NOTHING. Once we arrived for the tour, he claimed I needed to prove income since I own a business, and gave me a 1-800 number. He said if I didn’t prove income I’d be dismissed from the tour, thereby not qualifying for the discount, and charged $500. I called the number he gave me and they reiterated a 4th time, I DO NOT NEED TO PROVE INCOME even as a business owner. I went back to him but his mind was made up that I did. The hotel front desk manager suggested he speak to a tour manager for me. He came out of the manager’s office and said come back tomorrow with some form of proof of income of at least 50k *per YEAR*. I brought bank statements from the past *3 months* showing over 60k in deposits in one of my business accounts and for ZERO reason he claimed this was not good enough. I don’t know if I was targeted for being a young, female, business owner of minority or what. I asked, “if I said I worked for some place and made 50k a year would you give me such a hard time?” He replied, “that’s what you should have said.” I supposed he expected me to leave and pay that $500. I asked to speak to the manager for help in understanding why I’m the only one required to show proof of income, and why when I show plenty enough income I am still denied. The manager SWIFTLY put us through the tour. Perhaps Westgate is not treating their employees well or paying decent wages because this man was as miserable as could be. The room’s linens were also old and dingy, floor was dirty, view was nice.

The location was great. the staff was awesome. I understand this is a family resort, but in the past, the ones I went to had adults pools and jacuzzi tubs. I didnt like the fact that I had to share with little babies that had diapers on. Isnt that the whole idea that yall have a kid area for them to play at. There are two full pools so one should be for families and one should be for adults. I wouldnt want to purchase a timeshare to pay all the fees and not have an area for my husband and me to relax by ourselves. Also, if I dont have a do not disturb sign room, the service should knock to see if I need a quick sweep in my room. I should not have to hunt someone down or go to the front desk and ask for a broom. This resort is off the beach, and sand is tracked in and out all day. I am on vacation. I am not here to work. I am not asking to clean up after myself every day, but it would have been nice to just sweep up the sand. I really hope yall make some suggestions going forward. Also, no means no. I shouldnt have to say no 5 5imes for the timeshare to end the presentation. The presentation was scheduled for 90 minutes, not for 5 hours.

This hotel is a good place to stay. We got down Friday and checked into another place. And that place was a horrible experience from the start. So we started looking for another place to stay right away or go home. So we finally found this place. My husband called and talked to a girl by the name of Kayla. He explained everything and she told us that if we came in as soon as possible, that they had vacancy and she could get a room at the very last minute. Once we got there, Kayla got us all checked in and whatnot. She was very friendly and very sweet as well. ☺️ The whole stay was awesome. The staff are very friendly and very helpful if we had questions or needed anything. We loved the fact that it was pet friendly, which is hard to find. And my dogs met some new friends as well. It was also right there on the beach and walking distance to any store. Definitely recommend this hotel. ☺️

Horrible service. Hotel was filthy. They stole money from our card after we gave our deposit. Didn’t notify us of charges. Late arrival charges after our son was hospitalized. Also, there was pizza and crumbs all over the floor and so many things were broken in the room. Was filthy and smelled. So many issues and I can’t even waste my time with this review. But also, expect about 1k worth of charges you don’t approve of after checking out. They did this both times I have stayed here

I stayed at Westgate Myrtle Beach from Friday to Monday Columbus day weekend.Staff was friendly and helpful.I stayed at a condo in the timeshare owners tower and it was a very nice and clean room with a balcony. The view was very nice, half to water and half to the city.Pool was open and it is 3ft to 8ft deep. They have a small lazy river and small children water park. There is a Garage and parking lot.It is beachfront and access to beach is seconds away.I enjoyed the hotel, room and view.I attended Timeshare presentation and if you are not careful they will keep you over 3 hours.Only bad things i would say is,Water pressure kinda sucks and the bar closes at 9 but there are many others around town. They have an on site convenience store that closes in the afternoon.I dont know how much i would enjoy the small pools in the hot seasons when is busier

This was the worst experience of my life. This resort is very old, unclean and worn down. Could not sleep due to the loud air conditioning, my ocean view room was actually a view of the restaurant Friendly’s. The cleaning staff is extra loud early in that morning. The paint is cracking and coming off the walls. My bathroom door did not close and the bottom was falling apart. The toilet is extremely small had to use the bathtub to assist with getting up off the toilet . When I contacted the resort staff I received the same generic message two times as if it was actually scripted. I have never been so unhappy for 4 days in all my vacation. You will do better paying regular price and stay with Wyndham or Hilton. This resort honestly needs to be condemned. I will be sending a formal complaint to the county for them to come and review this resort to see if it is up to code. As there were a lot of family’s here with small children. If I was able to put 0 stars I would . Definitely can not believe this place.

My trip isnt until Friday, but with the pleasant conversation I had with Chris Lilly at the front desk. I swear I cant wait to go. He was so patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The amount of patience he had with me and my 1000s of questions was astounding. Most people would rush you off the line or transfer you. He definitely need a RAISE and any award WESTGATE gives to their star employee. Will do an UPDATE AFTER ARRIVAL AND BEFORE I LEAVE. 😍ARRIVAL UPDATE: OMG Check-in was fast and awesome. Chris, Emma, Shaneca, and Tamesia were super pleasant 😍 ❤️. Even the ones whose name I didnt catch. The view is awesome, and the rooms are great.

The Lobby in the older part of the hotel has been renovated and is clean and fresh. So much attention to detail. All of the staff in every capacity was friendly and extremely helpful. The room was the same way with attention to detail, clean and fresh. I was also impressed with the construction of the Central tower. Im an owner. Westgate charge owners around $1k supposedly for tax and maintenance (!??) We are average cleaned people, so we have to clean the toilet, sinks, wipe cabinets and hand dishwashing, otherwise we cant used them. I dont think they clean the floor neither give time maids to do it. It is obvious that the management has designed the room services- maintenance so the minimum-minimum is required. Pictures speaks for itself. Towels are small when this is a beach hotel and normally big ones are needed. The welcome cookies box was funny, with cookies inside of a ziploc sandwish bag from Walmart or Dollar Tree (where I use to buy many stuff, btw). Fridge was totally empty, not even ice in the bucke, neither a single bottle of water. This non-Resort says 3-stars but runs like a regular 1-star hotel. Ive been in others Westgate like River Ranch and Smokie Mountains and they looks like what supposed: Resorts. It is Westgate Resorts playing to Demographics games and thats why the big difference among them?Customer Service was good, no complain about it; though we dont requested anything for a weekend. The are is great, the beach is lovely and the city is very attractive. We maybe will be back to Myrtle Beach, but for sure we are not going to spent a dime in that hotel even though we are supposed to have some discounts.

Scam. Pete and the other staffers did NOT adhere to the 90 minute exchange of my time for the room at a certain price. Then, he and his managers strong-armed us by surrounding the table and not letting us leave when we mentioned that the agreement had been breeched. For a room that was 4 star at best, this was unacceptable. We are being told that they can keep us for an indefinite amount of time or they will cancel our promotional price.

One of the front desk staff even gave my daughter $5 of her own money to get ice cream for her birthday. How sweet?!The resort was extremely clean and beautifully updated. The parking is horrible. Theres to much walking that has to be done to get to your building after parking. Me and my wife had a real horrible time. Dont advise anyone to go there. They told us that the man got there at 7:30pm , and he was fixing on it . 9pm still no hot water . Called down the next morning early and it was only certain rooms and not all the rooms . It wasn’t until my fiancé went down and complained . They tried to say we could check it early. Or they was cleaning some rooms so that they can take a shower before leaving . Very much unacceptable! They could have made some type of accommodation that night . After he spoke to them we was offered a refund but it’s the principal of making an accommodation for the guest .

I’m going to address each issue one at a time.1. Check in was AMAZING staff was very friendly and my room was ocean front.2. The next morning we woke up to 5 phone call from the front desk. With a 7 week old I WAS NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. The front desk called to say that we had a leak in our room however there was a miscommunication THERE WAS NO LEAK. (Front desk should have checked with maintenance before the 5 phone calls). (Tho we were compensated 4 dinner passes doesn’t stop a crying baby from waking up). 2.Once we started getting dressed to attend the timeshare presentation, we noticed that the water pressure was very low and it did not get hot. So luke-warm water was all we had.Furthermore the bathroom mirror was not cleaned. There was a scary smiley face on the mirror, and the Bathroom door did not close. No exhaust Fan and the paint was peeling everywhere, and the 2nd bed in our hotel room made noises every-time you moved it, sat on it.3. The PRESENTATION.Was a full day. Started at 12:30pm and we finished at 8pm. Tho they feed you it was still very long. We kept getting apologies and was wonder why but I’ll get back to that. The condos were beautiful after completing our presentation and purchasing the time share we were heading back to our room and over heard someone talking about the condo they stayed in and how they went threw the presentation and did not buy which made me upset because I felt that we should have been moved since we purchased the time share. Saturday was fine but Sunday morning checkout was at10:00am. I knew we weren’t going to make that so I called and asked for a late check out at 8am. We also asked for towels at 8am. Late check out was granted for 12:00pm. We did not get our towels Till 1:10 pm so therefore we did not check out till after 1:30pm. All in all it was ok. I hope they tear down the hotel and only have the condos open because the hotel part is not in the best shape. I just wish we could have enjoyed the room.

Then it took about 45min for them to bring it. Got a knock at the door opened it to find a large bag with the everything inside but noone to greet me and ask if there was anything else needed. The website says breakfast included from what I remember but at this time for whatever reason they dont serve breakfast only lunch and dinner which is an extra cost. Parking there is none due to renovations which they dont tell you until after you book your room but you will have to park 1-3 blocks away and pretty much walk back to the hotel. No one was rude when we declined. Our AC unit died in the middle of the night and we were able to have someone fix it the next morning with a new unit which worked properly. We really appreciated that.Security is great, a key card is required to acess the elevators, all exterior exits/entrances, fitness center, beach access, and enter the lobby after 10:30pm. We also observed people inspecting things like the elevator routinely.Location has great access to beach along with pools and lazy riverHussein at the pool bar was fantastic with service. He keeps up with all the people coming and going and the orders. Hes hard working and polite. Doesnt get enough credit!Cellphone service is horrible, we were on the third floor. We arent sure if there are blockers intended for customers to use the poor quality wifi and room phones. We have full service 4g but can barely get anything to load, terrible phone service. Can barely search anything for local activities and food its so frustrating. We had to walk in a direction of something we wanted to go to before our phones would register. T-Mobile.We requested towels and toiletries and they were left at our door in a bag and we were unaware.Towels at the pool at impossible, if you see them get them!I feel like a big problem with this resort is that they want to sell people properties via timeshare and act like a premium resort hotel but the rooms they offer are mediocre at best. Based off guests commentary and complaints dirty at their worst. Theres 20+ people doing this where other areas could have help. This practice will not help the resort and doesnt make any sense with so many problems. No wonder there are so many complaints of guests being hassled and intimidated during the timeshare presentation. They have to rely on high pressure sales tactics because the product doesnt speak for itselfIf you want a pleasent view with a breeze ocean is what you want. Theme park is boring, noisy (traffic), and hectic best.Lastly we were a bit frustrated by the fact we could not have a room cleaned during our stay and the hotel waits twenty-four hours after to clean the rooms. It was explained that this is due to Covid so we were somewhat understanding but being offered a broom to clean our own room, ourselves, on vacation was a bit annoying.Overall I expected a bit more out of the resort hotel but wasnt super disappointed, have stayed in worse and our stay could have been worse. The showers don’t work, they actually said rinse sand off by using the pool. The pools looked FILTHY. The color was terrible. Their outside bar was only opened for a couple hours 12-3. It’s as if none of the employees want to have a real job and do real work. As if they all get paid and do what they want because no one is actually managing them. No continental breakfast. There is only food that you have to walk what feels like a block away, and requires you to leave the building to reach it! Really annoying. Made reservation by phone through owner’s referral around 5:00p and headed to the hotel. Upon arrival, at 10:30pm, the reservation had listed the wrong room type and the hotel claimed no additional rooms available in the room type we were supposed to have. Front staff was not helpful, and was told no manager was available that we would need to call to report our issues. The number we were given was only open weekdays during business hours and our stay was for a weekend so that didn’t help at all.The hallway carpets were very dirty with stains, and dog pee was constantly in elevator. Our room wasn’t cleaned well before we arrived and I found someone’s drugs (labeled as insulin) in our fridge which security had to get. The shower wouldn’t get hot and there was low pressure regardless of time of day. Major construction was going on which meant limited parking, and being woken up by 8am even on weekend with trucks and construction noises. The beds were very tall and very hard (all of us woke up sore in necks and backs every morning, even our 15 year old). The very old AC unit ran super loud and made it hard to sleep.Marijuana was heavily used in the hotel parking lots (especially Lot 2) and also just outside gate to pool deck but security, when informed, didn’t seem to care and just said that happens around there. They are also very short staffed and so do not do housekeeping at all. You have to get toilet paper and towels requests from front desk.Timeshare presentation was supposed to be 90m- it turned out to be a 5 hour (not at all lying) very pushy and aggressive by the time the manager came. They didn’t listen to us at all but tried to push a decision what wasn’t for us on us. The worst part is that it took up an extra 3.5 hours of daylight which meant we didn’t get to enjoy the beach that we came to enjoy.****As requested in the reply to this post, On May 18, I submitted email with reservation details and further information on our stay. As of May 23, 2022 I have not received response****We did try to speak to management, the owner referral program, and the timeshare folks about the issues we had while on-site but no one was able to provide any resolution nor did they seem to really care about our terrible experience. I highly recommend staying at one of the many other facilities located nearby- you’ll have a much better experience.

I have never complained about a hotel before, but this hotel warrants a bad review. Our room was much different than advertised and many amenities were missing, even the comforters on the beds were gone. Additionally, the hotel room was dirty and the bathroom was gross and very small. We asked if we could upgrade to a different room because of these conditions, and we were given an almost identical room. The front desk staff were nice, but not overly accommodating. The construction begins around 9 AM and it is LOUD. Like not able to hear what others are saying loud. The exterior of the building looks horrible and we did not have a balcony. It is advertised as pet friendly, but there was nowhere to walk a dog for them to go to the bathroom (only about 8x8 feet of grass where the flag poles are in the front of the hotel), so we had to pay for our dogs to be boarded. We asked if we could have a late check out, and they said the latest we could check out would be 11 AM or there would be a $75 fee. For all of the trouble, this hotel is not worth the money, and it certainly should not be called a resort. Like I said before, I have never left a bad review for anything, but I felt others should be warned before staying here. We definitely will not be returning.

My room was dirty upon arrival. I was told that my two rooms would be next to each other and they weren’t. When we found out that the person next to us was checking out they still wouldn’t let us move rooms. When the housekeeper came to clean the room she only picked up things and didn’t actually clean the rooms. The breakfast before the tour was horrible, I understand they couldn’t do the normal buffet because of covid but they gave out cereal bars and juice. They scheduled tours back to back so while viewing the property we had to sit in a bedroom while the rest of the house was being toured by many other families. At the end of the tour we felt very pressured to buy the timeshare. After telling the tour guide no the manager came over and kept trying to make us say yes. When I finally said no she got up with an attitude and whispered into our tour guides ear then rolled her eyes at me. By then I was ready to leave, we were told the tour would be 90 minutes, it ended up being over 3 hrs. The pools weren’t heated like they say and the food spot by the pools were closed because the workers car broke down and they had no one to replace them. Parking is also the worst.

This location was not as clean and the staff was not as helpful as the Westgate location in Orlando. First, the pillow and sheets were dirty, it looked like mold was on them. The bedding was also dirty. I ask for new sheets so I would remake my bedroom. The a/c was not working properly. The room was not worth $1800 for a one-bedroom villa. The housekeeping never brought me a broom and only brought one set of face towels after I called multiple times. The only nice thing I liked about this resort was the location and my concierge Adnetta( hopefully I spelled her name correctly). I can say if you do choose this location I would prefer a one-bedroom king suite my parents room was much nicer and cleaner than mine.

Bad Customer Service and Live Roaches in Unit!!!!!!!!During check-in the desk clerks didnt work with us to accommodate with a lower floor due to military disability. Having to deal with triggers is not a good way to spend your vacation. On our first night, before retiring for the night our daughter prepared her baby’s bottles on the kitchen counter. At the time of the baby’s first feeding, our daughter saw many live and dead roaches on the kitchen counter around the bottle station, dishwasher and trash can (see attach pictures). Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience with Westgate. We stayed only one night - checking out early the following morning. So, our vacation ended early due to the filthy accommodations. When I reported this incident to the front desk the clerk didnt seem surprised of our findings. Our past vacations with Westgate properties have always been positive. Perhaps…this is the new Westgate. .....

Friendly staff, beautiful decor when you first walk in our room had the perfect view of the ocean and pool area also the queen size beds were very comfortable. - [ ] We left the Westgate Myrtle Beach Ocean Front resort a few hours ago. Reservations # 16242421 & 16242422. We are owners of a Westgate timeshare and must say we are extremely disappointed with this Myrtle Beach location. As another review mentioned, the staff is impolite, the hotel is filthy, and they will charge you things after you leave that do not make sense. We had two rooms under my name and both were in different buildings- which is annoying giving we were two families with young kids that wanted to be together. One of the rooms was super dirty with cheese in the freezer and hair in the bathroom (pics attached for reference). We flagged this to several people (concierge, in house manager, receptionist, via SMS, etc) and it wasn’t until we got really upset that we had the room fully cleaned because this obviously has not been done after the previous guest left. Otherwise, please do note they will not clean the rooms during your stay due to Covid (at least this is the official message but I assume the real reason is that they are short staffed) and when I asked for the cleaning supplies to do it myself, they only brought a broom the size of a Melissa & Dug cleaning toy set - not even a real size broom and a dustpan. So, be prepared to have to clean with it the sand or others during your stay regardless of the length of your visit. Also, we brought a dog with us and paid a pet fee for it. Reviewing now the statement of the charges we noticed they charged the pet fee to both rooms. We called to ask for an explanation and we were told they assumed the pet was in both rooms, so they charged the fee to both - even when the dog never left our room except for its regular walks outside the hotel complex. So, I will be expecting the refund of the second fee that, without authorization, they charged to our credit cards. So, to recap: they do not do a deep cleaning between guests, they do not clean at all during your visit, do not offer cleaning supplies, if you ask for cleaning supplies they bring you a broom that seems from a toy set, the staff is rude, they will charge things that do not make sense, and it is expensive as any other resort in the area. We paid almost $4k for the two rooms for 5 evenings. So, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. We did it here since we thought we were going to have a similar experience to what we have had at other Westgate Resorts but it was not the case. So, it is not worth the investment. Thanks

First let me start off by saying that the location is phenomenal if youre staying with children. There is an amusement park right across the street with lots of things to entertain the kids. As well as a really nice boardwalk not too far and the beach at your doorstep. The hotel itself was actually pretty nice all in all. My experience however was not. I rented a large suite for myself and my children. There are no restrictions on the type of room or location of your room if you have children, yet I was reported not once, twice but 3 times for small amounts of noise that any normal 5 and 7 year old would make. After a lengthy apology to their security team, my brother overheard the security(there to protect you) say that hed tase my children. After making a complaint with front desk staff, the security guard was not only allowed into the building the next day, but was able to approach me about my complaint and make very serious, dangerous threats towards me infront of an entire lobby of families and staff as well as my 2, 5 and 7 year old children who were clearly terrified. The altercation of me being verbally assaulted was even caught on camera. Immediately following, I was escorted to my room where I had to call the police myself. I was greeted by an amazing officer who seemed to have more sympathy for me and my experience than the hotel staff did at the time. I gave a statement to both the head of security and the officer and was told Id hear back. I immediately left the hotel that evening after feeling completely unsafe. I was never offered a resolve for the HORRENDOUS experience and this has been almost a year at this point. The security guard was arrested and I received a simple apology. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone with small children. I travel quite often and I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life. There are bad apples everywhere, but the way I was handled by the hotel staff following the altercation was just disappointing. If youre looking in the area Id say location is great but stay at another hotel.

I will say the staff was very friendly and polite. Always a smile and ready to help. They gave away our room (even though it was paid for in advance) because we didn’t check in on time. We called ahead of time to say we were still coming and could not be there when they wanted we would do a late check-in.While we were there 7/15-7/19 one elevator didn’t work. The one next to it stopped on every floor even if there wasn’t anyone there, so took a long time to get up and down or while waiting for it to come back. My room curtains were ripped and stained. My blanket had holes in it. Not what I expected from a time-share. The kids pool was not working and neither was the hot tub/jacuzzi area. They seemed to be doing a lot of maintenance on the property which I would have thought should be done on the off season.Drafts was great. Thier bartender We had wait on us two days in a row was amazing and friendly. I wish I got her name. She had short dark hair.

Our stay was overall okay due to the outside attractions. Parking wasnt as much a hassle as I thought it would be, especially during fourth of July weekend. The various attractions and restaurants along the strip were fun and amazing. The staff was friendly and courteous as well.As far as our stay at the hotel, my girlfriend and I ran into some issues. First, one of the elevators were out of service when we arrived; so it took a while to get up to our room. Other customers who have been staying in for a week stated that its been out of service for their entire stay. So only 1 elevator for over a week. The elevator doors shut too fast before we can get in so it took us longer to get in. And once we finally went in, the elevator had to stop on every floor regardless. The next day we decided to take the stairs and on our way down down my girlfriend slipped and fell. There appeared to be some soap at the bottom of the staircase. Fortunately, my girlfriend didnt suffer any major injury. An employee saw her fall and said she would inform a supervisor and get it cleaned up. We waited another 10 mins before we decided to leave. No body came.Secondly, when we went to Drafts Sports Bar and Grill which the hotel promoted and highly recommended, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated by the staff (who by the way saw us) before we approached them. They told us that the kitchen was too busy and therefore were unable to serve anyone else.Third, when I woke up to use the bathroom, I saw a cockroach running around on the bathroom. The blow-dryer in the bathroom did not work. Plus the cover on our AC was broken.Lastly, our room had an old-school, 1980s look to it. It was not what we had expected when we booked it.

Our infant was hospitalized the night before because of complications with his feeding tube so we had to arrive late. We paid a rate of $400 plus $90 resort fees a night. We didn’t arrive until the full next day. Upon arrival hotel informed us they had given our room away and it took about an hour to check in and sort things out. We were never notified of a late check in fee. They charged us $400 for a late check in fee and also refused to refund the first night of $400. I can’t believe people are actually this callous and scammy. To take over $1k from a family who works hard for their money with a sick child. Don’t trust this hotel with your money. Always book with American Express or a card with insurance. They will steal anything they can get their hands on out of your account. We have consulted with a lawyer BECSUSE we did notify of late arrival to the night worker and have details of the call. However they say we never called and that’s why they won’t refund us or take off the late charges. The hotel room we were booked into was dirty , pizza all over, actual slices —like how does housekeeping miss a slice of pizza??? We were attacked when we ordered doordash and the front desk had to hold it. The property is huge so to walk to front desk takes about 15 min anyway. We have two kids and were trying to enjoy our vacation however this hotel treated us horribly. They try to take advantage of every customer. Check your account days after and you will find 100’s in random charges. This happened to us last time staying here as well but we didn’t pay it much mind because it was only for a few hundred dollars. This time they took advantage of us as they looked at our sick infant on an iv and feeding tubes. It just doesn’t get any more disgusting and disgraceful as that.

This hotel is just ok, but nothing special. Yes they have some pools and some activities places on a piece of paper that you get at the front desk, but for spending $400+ a night (that I booked way ahead of time), it was not that great. The rooms looked nice, but the furnishings were subpar. The dresser drawers never stayed shut, so they were open all the time. The bathroom was very small and the water pressure was low. Additionally, the wifi wasnt great struggled with phone service and switch to wifi, but even then, my devices lagged. I attempted to request a late checkout and while the front desk representative told me they would see if I could have one, they just immediately said no. They have a big parking garage, which is nice, but it doesnt connect to the building, so everytime you go to and from you car, you have to go down the parking garage and into the front door. To be called a resort, it was mediocre at best.

I am a Westgate owner since 2014. This was our first time in Myrtle Beach. The resort seems to be well maintained and room was clean. Location is great with many things to do, see, and shop around the area. One thing I am disappointed at as an Electric Vehicle owner is that in the parking garage on first floor they have 4 EV charging stations that are not clearly marked for EV charging Only and all spots were taken by gasoline engine cars. Staff must mark these EV charging spots and post signs that towing is enforced or charge a steep penalty fee to violators. The entire parking garage is almost empty from second floor to eighth floor. I told a staff member about it and nothing was done to have the violators move their cars. So if you are an EV owner be prepared to not have a place to charge due to poor management in this area. I will be reporting this issue to corporate.

And that didnt happend. We didnt even had toiletry in the room, I had to go downstairs and talk to the front desk, and guess what they did... They provided me with a bag of toiletry. The room was fine. The front desk staff were fine. 5/11-14/2021.However, I spent the whole first afternoon with maintenance while they were correcting the broken door handle. Also, we had big problems with the reservation. I had reserved a one-bedroom suite which included a kitchenette, and the price quoted and charged was $185/night for 3 nights for the room. However, when I got there they had given me a one bedroom, no suite and with no kitchenette. I spoke to the manager, and he blamed the Reservation Center and said he could do nothing. They ask if I wanted an upgrade, and I told them that we had paid for the suite with kitchenette, but I did need the upgrade, because we needed the kitchenette. They charged me $300 a night instead of the $185 that was quoted and charged to me for the one bedroom suite which I had already paid. Ive called the reservation center and told them to listen to the recording of my reservation. They confirmed what i said but I have received no assistance in correcting this issue. Therefore, I will not be staying at this Westgate again. Weve enjoyed several years there, but this will be our last?! Unhappy Customer!!! Ive read the reviews. It seems i sm not alone.

This by far is one of the worst resorts me and my family have ever stayed in. There is nothing resort style about this place. The rooms are small and they look like slightly updated motels. The pictures you see online are deceiving. Me and my family of 10 traveled 12 hours for this disappointment. They also segregate their guest and we were confined to one floor. Also Sunday morning they had construction going on with loud machines and it woke me and my family up and my newborn child. What reputable company does construction on a Sunday with men working outside with their shirts off? How professional!! Me and my family waited 2 hours for clean towels and wash clothes on our very last day of vacation. We called down 3 times and was told because people do not return their soiled washed cloths and towels. What kind of excuse is that? Is this a resort or not. This is obviously something the “ resort” should be prepared for. The staff are not friendly at all except housekeeping. Then during the stay they send you bogus text messages asking how they can better assist you. I asked for a manager to contact me and krystina claimed she would contact me shortly and never heard from her the entire stay. As far as time share goes do not ever invest in a dump like this. I actually asked the lady at the concierge desk about the buffet and presentation after checking in and she didn’t bother to explain it only saying it’s for a “private event” after I just heard her explaining everything to my mother and because she decided to stereotype that’s when I was completely done with this resort. I understand they have a certain target market but little did she know me and my husband meet and are over qualified for their expectations. Me and my husband are knowledgeable with times shares and own one else where. They have someone from the marketing department contact you via phone on your 2nd stay and he also apologized for the false advertisement of pictures they show online. This is a frequent complaint. They have a onsite bar and grill in another tower and their service is awesome and food is a affordable, but that is the only thing about this resort we actually enjoyed. After our experience here I would not recommend any west gate properties. Be aware of the 1 star reviews you see on here they are here for a reason. Stay at your own risk.

I would pass and stay somewhere more relaxing and worth the money. You cant enjoy your balcony because of renovations. Im ok with that only because I read reviews and prepared my mind for that. However, I was unaware when booking months ago for our anniversary. Most importantly the shower is less than acceptable. The water has little pressure and goes in and out spraying and not spraying. Taking a shower is extensive due to the matter. The rooms and halls need serious remodeling. Do not sign up for the time share presentation; your day will be waisted. If you say no to buying in they get mad and keep asking why and dont take no for an answer. Then they will send a second attacker the manager the cycle then repeats. After you will have to fight to get your $60 credit for participating. Parking is AWFUL!! We had to park two blocks away in a deserted lot. They would not pick us up because city law doesnt allow carts during evening hours. Remind you at this point that you are charged a $60 resort fee, but you have to park way off site on their property (randomn parking lot). In this area I am scared my car will be vandalized or broke into. What if you are attacked walking back to the resort. I have stress fractures and was told I can park with my handicapp tag. I reminded staff that an injury does not make someone eligible for a handicapp tag/plate. I will definitely not stay here or recommend. Hygiene items are equivalent to Dollar Tree brand products. Happy Anniversary to us at the most ratchettville!!

And I request 2 different rooms and each room was the same. The restaurant inside the resort is terrible. It was a 90 min wait to receive your food once you are seated. Not to mention it was a hour to just get seated. The staff is overworked and expressed that management does not care to address or fix the poor customer service issues. I am embarrassed to say I am a Westgate owner at another resort after visiting this resort . The Westgate Brand should be the same and give the same standard of service at every resort. Forget to mention the parking was a total disgrace. Took an hour to just get into the parking lot to check in.Stay away from this place. Do not ruin your family vacation !!! It seemed like the different parts of the resort were not in communication with each other and often did not know what was going on in their own resort. One day there were no pool towels available. For three nights, we stood in dirty water when we took a shower. There was a vent in the bathroom which looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years. We are a military family traveling from Illinois and we were scheduled to go on a tour with the resort on Friday 4/15. We came down on-time for our tour, registered and sat and waited until we were called, finally someone comes to me an hour later with a piece of paper that states DISMISSAL OF TOUR. Apparently I wasnt suppose to be drinking a Mikes hard lemonade before our tour, but my question is,why didnt anyone say something to me before I even registered?? There were several people standing around and no one had the decency to say, maam you have to discard the drink before going on our tour. They just let us get disqualified, and we were told that we had to pay an extra $300 because of this, I tried telling these people that I didnt know that this was part of the rules and NO ONE would help me, not even the manager! I left my contact info for the manager to call me back, and this person that is suppose to be representing your hotel didnt even have the decency to call me back! So SATURDAY and SUNDAY came and their were several tours going on, and still no call back from the manager. So I feel like we were not even given a chance to view the property which we could of potentially purchased a timeshare for because we are a traveling MILITARY FAMILY!! The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because the housekeeping staff were so polite and helpful and the room was clean. We will have to purchase a timeshare elsewhere because as far as the tour part and the non-willingness to help us yall get a zero! Please get another manager to represent your hotel!

This place was an absolute disappointment, and a total money racket. If I could give this place zero stars I would. We booked over the phone with a rep through the timeshare booking service ( We are owners of a westgate time share) and let them know we have 3 small dogs less then 5 lbs each. The rep assured us that was fine that the limit was 60lbs and it wouldnt be an issue. Well we get to the hotel and the make is wait 4 hours to check in, and then charge $600 because we have 3 dogs and the limit is 1. When we complained that we were not informed of that when we booked it, the front desk staff just simply said well you should have checked the website. So we pay the fee, and carry on with checking in and finally we get a room. It was nice, but definitely not the nicest,The shower leaked and the toilet stopped working 2 days in, and the sliding door took all your might to open. We managed to enjoy most of our vacation, and the view was absolutely stunning, but definitely not worth the fees we paid. After all that adventure we go to check out only to find we hadnt been charged enough and were required to pay an additional $350 fee before we could check out. Im sorry but $1000 in definitely not worth it. We will not be back, and were half tempted to sell the time share. Westgate is a JOKE. Dont come, and dont bring your dogs.

The location, amenities such as their pools and access to the beach are the best features about this resort. The floors in my room where dirty. I put new socks on my daughter and just from a few mins of walking on the room floor her socks were black. The kitchen appliances should be replaced as the blender, toaster and some of the silverware were rusted. I bought paper ware to eat from and didn’t cook. TVs are outdate and not smart TVs. Who doesn’t have smart TVs? I saw a big roach in my refrigerator and that just turnt me off. The next day I went to the tour which by the way they served the oldest hot dog rolls some clumped up cheese and bag chilly. Don’t eat it. Your stomach will be doing flips. Even the individual bag of chips were Stale. I was confused because they were unopened and not expired. The presenter response to the roach after she tried to convince me it was a water bug was Do I think this is the last time I will see a roach on vacation? After she found out I wasn’t buying she got very nasty and tried to insult me by saying she understands not everyone can afford it. 😂 If I thought this resort was amazing and breathtaking I would of happily bought. She told me she was glad I wasn’t buying because she didn’t even want to be here and she could go home. She went on to complain about how this wasn’t even her job and they were short staff. She didn’t seem to like her job very much. If you don’t want to be here why would I buy from here? It was a mess for me but my daughter had fun and it was a cheap vacation. So awful, where to start???The temporary parking available for while you registered was totally inadequate and even dangerous, with cars and people everywhere.Registration was fairly quick, with no line. However there was no where near enough information provided on how to get to the room considering the long complicated walk required to get around the construction, with confused guests asking each other and nobody knowing the answers. The room, a 1 bedroom, was extremely small and cramped. When the sleeper sofa was open moving around the room became almost impossible and totally unpleasant to spend any time in. The balcony was nice. There were 2 elevators for an 18 story building, and only 1 worked when we arrived, and on our 2nd day neither worked for about 4 hours. Guests had to use the stairs or freight elevator. The swimming pool (lap pool) was dirty, with hair clumps and clouds of dirt swirling on the bottom.A number of the staff members, mostly cleaning crew, were awesome and went out of their way to try to help. The front desk staff tried, but they seemed inadequately trained for their positions.Parking was free, but was in remote lots 2,3,and 4. While there was a guard in the lot when i entered, there was none upon exit, and my license plate was stolen from my car and replaced with a plate from a stolen car. There should have been guards there all night.I felt sorry for the prospective time share customers being shown around, as their tour missed most of what most of us endured.

In order to have towels we had to collect pool towels. We also had to take out our own trash none of the vending machines worked and we were surrounded by the fun police. If you looked like you were having fun someone was right over your shoulder saying you cant do that. We will never go back to this place I wouldnt even go for free. Nest of luck to all that stay there. If you want to enjoy yourselves stay someplace else. Oh and the 90min tour they have you take is not 90min they lie about that as well.

Paid for coastal view the last 2 visits and received a view of the parking garage and amusement park instead. The staff would not even look at my reservation confirmation to try to fix the issue, leaving me with the decision to try to find a new place to stay with availability last minute during peak vacation time, after traveling 13 hours one-way, and one of those visits by myself with my 8 year old daughter, while losing money on my current reservation OR taking the room provided and trying to work with the resort to fix their error and get what I paid for.

We had a wonderful stay. They are remodeling the building.Update on this place. I was there the beginning of November with my sons girlfriend and in less than 24 hours of being there the maid stole from us, and she was not supposed to be in there according to the front desk. And they were not going to do anything until the next day when we told them the name of the girl that was in our room. They also threw out our food we had just bought after we checked in. The manager did try and make it right but that is just hard to expect. Also be careful with the timeshare they are crooks. That is another story.Be careful if you stay here.

I booked a weekend for my anniversary on the 14th of October. They messed up our plans The hotel didn’t have hot water the whole day Saturday or Sunday and didn’t accommodate the guests. We kept calling the front desk and they kept lying saying it’s getting fixed. But when I went down there they said he was on his way. Smh This was the worst experience I’ve had at a resort. They was unprofessional and they didn’t care about us are our needs. They even went to the extreme of saying they was going to let us go in someone’s else room to shower after they lefted out for the day. This was the most miserable stay I ever had I advise nobody to book with them. Unprofessional!!

We had an oceanfront jacuzzi suite an I loved it but there were some cons like the room could not get cold it felt okay but I love a cold room. Also there is a weird sewage smell only at night!!!! We called the front desk to inform them of the smell an they jus said we would have to wait for the cleaners the next morning but it was beyond them. Also the parking is terrible an not very accommodating at all long walk bout 6-8 mins depending. But overall the hotel is nice but could use a little adjusting. But I will say the price I spent was not worth the money

I called 2 weeks before my stay and was told that my reservation was for oceanfront. When I check in, I inquired about the room and was told it is a city view. I called the reservations department and was told that I need the persons name who told me that it was oceanfront. I didnt get their name. We were placed on the 3rd floor. The corridor smelled like urine and the room was filthy. I saw several housekeeping carts during my stay and not the first one has a broom or mop on it. Never saw a vacuum either. The floors in our room were filthy as well as the sink top. Dont get me started on the parking!!!! Having to park 3 blocks away is not my idea of a resort!! This is nothing more than a 2 star hotel at best. Nothing I saw here says resort to me.After the answer I received from this review, I will never come back to this hotel.

First off, the staff was great but the overall experience was poor. We paid for a beach balcony, 2 queen room for three nights. We got 2 doubles, a blocked off balcony with a barely visible view, and no room service (for any of our stay). They make you pay for WiFi and beach amenities upon arrival but that doesn’t include the umbrellas and chairs they set out for guests. On our last morning, there was construction being done (on the roof and balconies). The noise was so jolting we couldn’t stay in the room. When asked for help finding the hot tub, we were told it was a private hot tub for VIP members only. Overall, I would not recommend the stay for the hotel establishment but the people were incredibly engaging and welcoming.

Currently staying here and very tired of the staff who does not address any of my concerns! They do not provide any towels or toiletries unless requested by phone. The major problem is that the phone in this room doesn’t work. I told them this 1 hour after check in. Then told them again that night. Again at 9:30am the morning after arrival and again this evening around 9pm. Only to be met by rude responses because the staff here is lazy! They haven’t even brought a different phone in the room or different cords to check. Here’s a tip for you Westgate, offer me towels and coffee at a designated time daily that works for me. This place really is designed to sell you a timeshare and get you out the door. They say you matter but if that were true why haven’t I been taken care of!!! Maybe now you will address this. As a timeshare owner, I was disappointed that I had to call maintenance so much. We stayed in the newest building. Had to call maintenance twice. They did arrive and fix everything within 30 minutes. But when you pay almost $800 for maintenance, you dont expect so many problems. The view was great. The people were friendly. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Loved being in walking distance of all the fun. It is right across the street from the amusement park and there is a restaurant and bar downstairs.

The staff even extended our checkout time for us free of charge.

I would recommend you not become an owner. This company has lied repeatedly the management and front desk staff do not care after you sign up to become an owner. This resort is definitely not something you want to stay in. The company does not represent what they say when wanting you to become the owner having a home away from home. I contacted them about my room I was hung up on several times. Debbie stated she would call me back and when I called back 1.5 hour later she is now unavailable. They want to place an owner in a small studio with a pull-out couch. After i told them i need to prepare meals. You have been warned they sound good but you will regret you signed up. If it was not for Orlando Westgate would be null and void. So they know since they treated us like trash dont ask me to upgrade or anything. You have been warned bait and switch at its finest poor customer service at its finest but of course the owner is a millionaire.

Ive got to say, the condos are beautiful. The stuff was pretty nice for the beginning of things but being promised a 90 minute tour and it lasting FOUR AND A HALF HOURS with three small children I was just done. The sales person had me in tears pressuring me into buying when we clearly werent interested and even made an exclamation about yall cant afford $88 a month?! Thats not the point, lady, we just dont want a condo were paying for monthly that we can only stay in every 2 years thatll end up costing us 3k for an 8 day stay; not to mention the 20% interest rate. AFTER the manager asked us to rate our salesperson she started being really pushy and treating us completely differently. My children were bored, tired, and hungry after the sub par breakfast at 930am. Its 230 and were having lunch now because theyre starving and they KNEW we had a long drive home today too.. completely outrageous.

We stayed here bc of an online ad I liked. This generated a call from the resort and I was kindly invited to purchase the Myrtle Beach package of 3 days 2 nights.Once booked, I never received the confirmation email or call from the resort. I had to call day before trip to confirm our reservation and the first lady on the phone couldnt find us. This sent panic thru me as we were already on our way and only 8 hrs away. After insisting we had a reservation the next guy found it.Upon arrival at 8pm Monday the 22nd of August,2022, the guy at the front desk said we had reserved 2 room asn had double room fees and incident fees. I got that figured out and we paid for the one room we needed for our family of 5(3 kids under 4 and my husband and I). We were told both over the phone and at check in that our tour with Westgate was at 2pm on Tuesday 23rd.On your day I checked in with the tour desk to confirm our reservation and they scrambled to find our concierge. Tooke them nearly an hour to call us and inform us our tour was set and we were to be there at 1230... This cut our time on the beach way short and we rushed thru a quick thrown together lunch in our room to make it in time. Once there, we waited for 15 min before being invited to the discussion room. They told us lunch was provided (would have been nice to know BEFOREHAND). Then finally around 1pm the talk started and went on for the next 90 min. All along we were told in writing, in person and over the phone that this was a 90-120 min presentation and at 2 oclock they were just getting to the tour part. This was maddening as we have a nursing infant AND we were here to enjoy ourselves, not endure over 2 hours of a high pressure sales event. I mentioned we would not be saying yes at this point bc of how badly things were going, but they insisted we remain thru to the end of pay the $300 fee. The tour went on and then the worst part. Disrespecting our no thank you answer repeatedly! At this point its nearly 330 and our 3 month old was screaming to eat. They told us we both had to remain to the end orbit would be deemed incomplete. As a mother and business owner I was so angry with the people involved with this process. Lower and lower offers were presented and the pressure was thick. Once they figured we werent saying yes we felt the cold shoulder instantly and papers were pushed in our face to sign. It was 4pm by the time we got to our room and our baby nursed. This experience was so negative, I struggled giving this survey a 3, however the room beds were comfortable and the beach was fun for the kids. The staff was mostly polite(other than the pressure) but the organization from day one was awful, we were pressure and I feel lied to about the process. We will not be returning.

The good, the bad and the ugly. I paid extra to have an Oceanfront room. And it was Oceanfront full View and beautiful. The pools are a decent sized and there are multiple to help reduce over crowding. That sums up the good. The bad, the rooms are hotel rooms from the 60s or 70s, they are VERY small! The bathroom is very dated just like everything else but the bathroom is especially crummy. Tiles loose and broken around toilet, tub and shower head appear to be the original. When we arrived 1 elevator was working but even it stopped intermittently during our visit. On to the ugly, after night one we were up and getting ready to go to the beach. It was around 9 am and I stepped on the floor between the two beds and stepped on a Cockroach that was crawling around. I then got a shoe and finished him off. I notified the front office of the bug and sent them a picture. They responded by telling me it was just a palmetto bug or water bug. They offered to have exterminator come by and I told them I was concerned because there is an asthmatic and a baby in the room that dont need to be around the chemicals. So they did nothing. I looked up what a palmetto bug is and guess what, I am not an idiot it is a Cockroach! That evening we come back to the room after dinner, flip on the light and a Cockroach is crawling on the wall!! We got a shoe and smash it and call the front desk, telling them to do something about the problem NOW. And that a palmetto bug is a Cockroach and to stop trying to sugar coat it. They said they would send maintenance up to the room and I sat in the bed waiting for something to crawl on me for an hour, no one came to my room. I called the front desk again and was told maintenance was busy but they would be up soon. Waited and waited almost ready to give up and try to get some sleep and another COCKROACH was spotted crawling around on the curtain! I freak out and made my husband kill it and call the front desk again. I tell them that we have now killed 3 of them, they r crawling out of the curtains and the babys play pin /bed is right under them. Its after 11 at this point and they again say maintenance will be up soon. I wait and wait and after an extremely restless night fearing I will wake up with a Cockroach on one of the children, I get ready for the beach trying to enjoy my vacation. I stop by the front desk and speak to an assistant manager. I tell her the story and instead of trying to fix the problem, just like everyone else she just insisted I stop calling the COCKROACH a COCKROACH and call it a palmetto bug. She said they had put a call into the exterminator that morning and were just waiting for them to get there. She tried telling me it was my fault they have Cockroaches because I probably left the door to the balcony open to listen to the water. I told her that I didnt and she then said well maybe our room was missed last tine they sprayed. Either way they did what they could and called the exterminator, a manager that isnt concerned with the way I was treated or with the bug problem in my room was unfortunately just par for the course at this point. She did inform me that they r very common and she has her house sprayed twice a month, I am so glad she can sleep without worrying about them crawling on her or her children! We go to the beach and pool, we are gone for hours, come back for lunch and stop by the front desk to inquire about the exterminator and what a surprise the assistant manager is no longer available to talk to me but told the person at the desk that the exterminator hasnt been there yet. There is nothing they can do but could maybe move us to a city view room (not refund the premium I paid for the ocean front) and if there are roaches crawling out of my curtain they are probably in the building. I leave, go to lunch and guess what, no exterminator but they will notify me if another room is available. Day 3 the exterminator shows up about 30 min after they finally offered to move us to another room. ... Oh no, out of space.. Palmetto bugs are Roaches - dont stay here!

This establishment attracts individuals who smoke in the hallway and blast music in their rooms. It’s no fault of the hotel and they did have friendly staff and clean rooms minus the poor quality bedding, which others have written about in their reviews. However, their website makes this place look like a higher caliber resort when it was just a run down hotel. The easy access to the beach was great, but this was clearly a place for people to come party rather than have a relaxing beach vacation. I would not recommend.

Stayed 3 nights, paid outrageous. Had two cars they would not even give us 2 parking decals. Even the one they did give us is not even in the main parking lot at the hotel. Parking in the others is not guaranteed either. Finding the room alone was a nightmare. Was suppose to get ocean view, we were overlooking the parking lot we could not park in instead. When they cleaned the room they took all the covers and things off of the fold out bed, but did not bother putting the new ones on. The only good thing I can say for this place is it is pet friendly and the employees in general were very nice with a few exceptions. Easy access to the beach, shops and attractions but honestly so is every other hotel on this road. :)

I have never given a bad review in my life but my husband and I had such an awful experience I feel it needs to be shared with others. Our first room we were put in was not ocean front like we had payed for and smelled like cigarette smoke. The smoke detector had even been removed from the room. Thinking it was a simple mistake we asked to be moved. We waited in the lobby for an hour for a new room. Our new room’s balcony was under construction (Which is kind of the point for paying for ocean front) and the room smelled like weed. We expressed our concerns with the front desk who were less than apologetic saying “balconies aren’t a listed amenity”. When your advertisement photos show a balcony it’s implied and the pictures in general are not a true picture of the room quality. My husband and I work very hard and were looking forward to a relaxing weekend to ourselves. We left and ended up having to walk 3 miles with our luggage to a hotel who was more than happy to accommodate us. Don’t stay here. Terrible customer service and business practices.

Booked online for $88 night and take tour. Denied our tour based on our income then charged $300 to stay the remaining night. Just took the $300 without offering us to checkout and go elsewhere. Offered us breakfast and insisted I go get the kids to eat as well but after denying us due to income, breakfast wasnt offered either..even after charging us $300 more dollars. Rooms are not impressive and very noisy from street side and hall side. Water pressure sucks, floors under beds were nasty. No handicap or wagon accessibility to beach. We were in line to check in and others walked in after us and were checked in before us. Nice staff until you fail to meet their requirements but overall an online scam to get $300 a night whether you buy into timeshare or not. We wi never return here. Your reply is your typical reply to every complaint. We talked to someone before the 10 am checkout time and said we were checking out, they placed us on hold and took $300 from our credit card forcing us to stay another night. I can assure you that we will never return again. Landmark Hotel or others will get our business. You take no pride in your customers..which is probably why the one customer was at the front cursing you all out when we came in. Its easy to apologise and be nice after you take someones money, right? Never again! We also saw huge bugs at the bar out at the pool. Huge roaches. Can post the pics if youd like?

When I asked for feedback and it was my turn to talk the manager called security in to walk me to my car. How are you a manager and can’t give feedback or have a conversation regarding my employment? I understand if I made a mistake and I’d like to learn from it. But no feedback and the fear of confrontation was so apparent I was shocked at the lack of professionalism in the higher ups of management. Poorly run. Savash is the Mgr I’m mainly referring to. How can you be a manager for that long and not have the ability to communicate effectively?? Absolutely dumbfounded. I work for myself as an entrepreneur, went to college and yet my skill set was found to be a detriment not an asset?? How? I’d avoid this place like the plague. As a customer and as an employee.

This hotel is worn out and in need of repair and renovation. While the staff was cordial, the accommodations left much to be desired for the price. We had to change rooms due to a toxic smell, and although we were given an oceanfront room as a replacement, it also had a chemical smell to it and some plumbing issues. The largest problem is the lack of a second functioning elevator in the main building. Apparently this elevator has been out of service for a long time, and from what we saw during our brief visit it was not going to be repaired anytime soon. There was also very inadequate restroom access by the pool area which is obviously not hygienic. I think for the price you can do much better in Myrtle Beach.

The customer service is awful, with the exception of Kyrstina at the front desk who is wonderful and helpful. We booked 7 rooms over the weekend, you would think with 7 rooms they would offer breakfast or something. No we didnt even get a bottled water. The only way we could get complimentary breakfast or lunch would be to sit thru their God awful timeshare pitch. Why would I sit thru that, Im not getting a discounted rate like the others thats there for the pitch. We wanted clean towels and bedding asked the housekeeper she said ask another housekeeper who in turn never brought them up. The staff barely spoke when asking for something. Couldnt find a cart for luggage because they were being used for the timeshare folks. Basically this hotels caters to the timeshare people. Other guest are left with this wrist bands that mean absolutely nothing, its only purpose is to let staff know what quest to ignore. With the amount of money we spent on these rooms you would think we would get better customer service. I could go on and on about this lousy hotel. With the chipped out dated furniture but I wont. Lastly they provided us with a concierge named Jack. Jack only goal was to try and sell me a time share. He really served no other purpose he talked to slow and I was over the pitch before it began.

My fiancé had a phone interview for a house keeping position last night because he was looking for a second job. After he spent over 30 minutes on the phone with Domineek he was scheduled for an in person interview. When he got to the interview today he met with Latashia who proceeded to tell him “I don’t mean to discriminate but we are only hiring females for this role.” If that was true why have him come in for an interview at all? A day after calling down to get towels, we had to call them again. The bathroom in theses rooms are tiny and the water is almost like a drip. The sliding glass door to the balcony is about 8 or 9 inches high through the thresh hold. They have a sign, but who always think not to trip over a piece of metal sticking up that high. Potentially dangerous. Our view was of much construction. I do have photos. Definitely not worth the $400-$500 a night they ask.
