First time in NOLA and doing anything on my own. Ive always been intrigued by Burlesque. Not just the beautiful women and sparkly wardrobe, but the comedy aspect of it as well. Ive always appreciated burlesque as a whole because it is so welcoming to all and teaches us to not take life so seriously all if the time and to just laugh at ourselves. I loved that the performers were a mix of all body types. Each performer was beautiful in her own way and the comedy really added to a very fun and comfortable night. Special shootout to the professor on the piano keeping everything going too! Thank you, ladies for making my first and only night in NOLA fun and unforgettable.
This bar has been on my list for a while. Ive previously heard of the burlesque, poetry and drag. Ive never seen a burlesque show and honestly not sure what I saw. The strangest, funniest, most erotic entertainment I wish I had experienced earlier. How do you make burlesque in clown makeup sexy?! Go see the show and find out! The bayou blues burlesque was on point. All the dancers were exquisite, the band was funny and even enjoyed them making fun of me. Got to come back sometime for the poetry night, even if its midweek.
We were fortunate enough to see the vampire cabaret. It was beyond charming and wonderful. The hosts Stanley Roy and Madame Hellfire were funny, talented, charming and easy on the eyes. The box office and house host, Lady Midnight was also an absolute joy and a perfect front of house manager. If you are a native or a visitor to the area, I can’t share enough how welcomed and loved we felt by the staff and performers. Don’t miss a chance to see something from them. The dramatic literature reading had me crying. You will experience Fantasy!
We are local and absolute adore The Allways Lounge! We have seen all differing varieties of shows and combos of all and these performers do not disappoint! They have burlesque, drag, comedy, music, rock opera, choose your fate and so many more! Guests need to remember you are seeing REAL people perform LIVE, for YOU, so be generous with your praise, enthusiasm and tips and they will most certainly make sure you have a great time!
What an amazing show! Our first time in NOLA and we booked VIP seats for the Van Ella Bordella show. I was completely mesmerized by the talent and beauty of these ladies. Ainsley KILLED it on the piano! Madame Gigi Marx was hands down my favorite! Beauty, talent, humor...she had it all! One of the best shows Ive seen in a long time and the atmosphere was amazing. I wish we had this setup closer to home...I would visit regularly.
If youre looking for a night out in The French Quarter, but Bourbon Street isnt your scene, youll love this place. My wife and I had the pleasure of seeing The Van Ella Bordella: A Storyville Burlesque. It turned out to be a great way to kick off Womens History Month because the host wove in local Storyville herstory with the acts. The show definitely had a feminist lesbian lean to it which made it a perfect choice for us. They feature a variety of burlesque performers, strong drinks and a great VIP section that comes with complimentary champagne. I highly recommend it to avoid sitting with the rowdy bachelorette parties New Orleans is notorious for. If you forget to bring cash, no worries theres an ATM at the front door so you can show your appreciation for the gorgeous performers as they titillate your senses.
Wonderful inclusive cabaret and lounge! I have been hear for a Burlesque show and a comedy show. It is so much fun and the interaction between the performers and audience is fantastic! Cant wait to go to another show! The bar has a good selection but wish there was another bar tender so the wait for drinks wasnt so long.
We had such a fun night here, we went to a show for Jeez Loueez and it was an amazing night. All of the performers were so talented. I can’t wait until we are back in New Orleans and can come see Jeez perform. Great energy overall, loved everything!
We got tickets for The New Orleans High Society Hour! show and it did not disappoint. The place had a cool cabaret atmosphere, band was outstanding and engaging, Angie is funny, sexy and a great singer. Overall an excellent time!p.s.: we did not have any food.
This was fantastic. My wife and i went their for any anniversary, and we saw the Van Ella Bordella (burlesque) show. It was the best Ive seen. Entertaining and funny throughout the show. If you are visiting NOLA, you must catch a show, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely go again on our next trip.
Van Ella Bordella was absolutely amazing. Great show about the history of Story ville. Performers were stunning, gorgeous and generous. She reads every review. IYKYK.Thanks for playing Pink Pony Club. A small piece of me was healed in that moment.
What a fun place and atmosphere! We caught the Bayou Blues Burlesque show and it was a great time. Very cool lounge feel with an intimate setting. The bar is reasonably priced, but serves drinks only. This was not a big deal, but heard several people asking if they had food available. The band was fun and funny and the dancers were incredibly talented. Great vibe and one of our best nights in NOLA. Would go back in a heartbeat. It’s a must-visit on a trip to the big easy.
The All Ways Lounge was an absolute blast during our visit. We attended Pinky Deville burlesque show and the entertainment did not disappoint. Kennedy took excellent care of us with our drinks. Not terribly far from from the French Quarter. Just take a stroll down Frenchmans, and enjoy the live music on your way to the All Ways Lounge.
These folks are dancers and comedians… providing a space that is simultaneously sexy, comfortable, welcoming, hilarious, and inclusive - they are working magic here! do yourself a favor and go check out “spin that wheel” because it is absolutely delightful and an excellent way to spend your time and money. your entertainment is guaranteed! [this review is written with all the love from the birthday princess golden osetra]
Bought top VIP for the Van Ella show, absolutely worth seeing. Downside is not all tables are equal. Was sat on a semi view side area. Also the champagne was not poured by any of the troop. But absolutely would see again, just would skip the vip in favor of GA as they get full view of the performance.
This is the space to be in New Orleans if you want to enjoy the best performances the city has to offer. Stacked with shows every day, from burlesque, drag, and sideshow, to live music, comedy, and poetry; you’ll never be bored when you visit. Expect great service and strong drinks. Make sure you have your ID though!
Had an amazing time at the Van Ella Bordella Burlesque show! A must place to attend when visiting NOLA. Not only it was educational, but empowering and artistically beautiful.
Saw the The Van Ella Bordella: A Storyville Burlesque show on a Saturday night....was absolutely fantastic. Great interaction with the audience, all of the actresses were amazing and super friendly. Plus got a little history lesson! Thanks again ladies...made the night!
Pinky deVille’s show Variété deVille was INCREDIBLE and an absolute highlight for our trip to New Orleans!! We booked the tickets last minute and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience, there were 4 different acts all who were fantastic, the atmosphere was so fun and inviting!! Will be recommending to everyone I know, don’t miss out on Pinky’s show!!!
This place has the most amazingly talented people in the city. The venue gives all the freedom and opportunity to its performers to be the most they can be. Cheers to this place for actually caring about their performers throughout the 14 month shutdown. I garauntee that any bad reviews on here are from reviewers tha misbehaved, and got put in their place
Went to a show for our anniversary and it was so enjoyable and fun. The environment was very relaxed and felt very personal with the performers who were all amazing
Thank you for providing a venue for unique and entertaining shows of all kinds. New Orleans is a beautiful and diverse city and needs to be represented by many types of beautiful and talented entertainers. We do not want the same stereotypical show over and over again. I have been coming to see shows here for years. Even long before I became a resident. I have especially enjoyed the FoxyRose Variety Show and Le Vampyre Cabaret. I work in the service industry and often have gueststell me that they are looking for a real New Orleans experience, and seeing a show at the Allways is very high on my list of recommendations. Please keep doing what you are doing!
Went to the Burlesque show last week. It was a great show. Funny and well acted by the performers. I would recommend this venue for anyone visiting or living in Nola. I happen to be looking at their calendar for another show to go to on a non-parade day.
Saw an incredible singing showcase Sweet D*ck Productions presents “They Got Pipes” in the Twilight Lounge last Friday where host Bette Tittler was an absolute standout. Her talent, commanding voice & poise through chaotic good created a joyous performance of incredible artists. As an audience member she helped me feel safe & encouraged all of us to relax & be completely silly with sweet & sexy comic bits & stellar costume pieces. Standout performer Risa Grace closed with a powerhouse rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep” that gave me chills.Definitely recommend Allways & any show Bette hosts or is performing in there 💜
My wife and I had such a blast! It was our first burlesque experience and totally worth seeing. We saw the Choose Your Own Adventure show and the dancers were talented as well as beautiful. The bartenders were very nice and the drinks were good. The only downside to seeing this show is my wife thinks I need furry pink chaps, vest, and a thong. LOL
Went to Burning Hell Burlesque this past weekend and had an absolute blast! Highly recommend, unless you hate fun, rock and roll and/or cake sitting. Then by all means please stay home.
This was so fun. Truly of the tours and shows we went to in NOLA, so easy and entertaining and well worth your time to attend. You wont stop laughing!!
Wonder show tonight for Sapphic Burlesque night. It was fun, I felt safe and accepted. A new must stop in New Orleans.
I bought tickets to a show from their website, & staff never even arrived. The building was locked closed. Show was apparently canceled, but no one even told us or any of the other 20 guests stranded outside, nor did they care about our wasted Uber money.Edit to repond to owner: Cancel for whatever reason you need, but PLEASE tell people. Eventbrite allows cancellation & notifying buyers with just a few clicks. Recklessly abandoning a bunch of queer folks in the streets for hours is unsafe & disproportionately harms the most marginalized.
Amazing evening at the AllWays Lounge attending the FoxyRose Variety Show last weekend! The hosts Ramona Rose and Fox Monroe are beautiful, talented, and funny! They entertained us while making jokes, keeping the audience engaged, and offering incredible performances. All of the acts were amazing ranging from burlesque to drag to side show. What I appreciated the most is that they seemed to genuinely love and care about all of the performers and the AllWays venue. I will definitely tell all of my friends to come to the AllWays Lounge any time they are in New Orleans! Keep up the great work! ❤️
Great space for avant garde art. Trish is a super kind bartender. My wife and I went three nights in a row. Our favorite show was the bordallo show on Thursday.
This show was absolutely brilliant! All the ladies were hilarious and the piano player was fantastic. They incorporated the history of Storyville through song and dance and comedy. It was amazing! It was everything I hoped and wished for!! I look forward to coming back and experiencing another show sometime.
The show was great although not on time but really the bathrooms need help.I also felt a little pressured to tip the dancers more after I had already tipped each of them
The Van Ella Bordella Show was phenomenal. We’ve been to multiple other burlesque shows before, and this one was by far the best we’ve seen. The performers were gorgeous and hilarious, could not stop laughing. Surprisingly educational about the history of Storyville. The audience also had great energy. It was an amazing experience all around.
We went to the Little Shop show on Halloween and had an amazing time. So many shows to choose from that week, but I’m so glad we made it to that one! Be aware there are different little stages within the building, so make sure you’re in the right spot for your event. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, particularly the lovely individual who helped us at the ticket window (I cannot recall your name by now, but our whole group commented on your service🖤). I enjoyed the show so much and will definitely drop in to the AllWays Lounge if I find myself back in New Orleans!
This is my favourite place in New Orleans. You are guaranteed to have a brilliant time, no matter which show you attend. A New Orleans experience that is not to be missed.
The BEST place in the city!!Drag, burlesque, circus, sideshow, comedy, look no further!!! Every single night of the week there are multiple shows spanning two theaters (lounge up front and the large Twilight Room in the back), produced by local entertainers. Zalia is a wonderful owner and has a large variety of shows in her space. There is something for everyone, as long as youre 21+ with ID.
I would give 7 out of 10 if I could!! Lol. I guess you had to be there! Van Ella Bordella (burlesque) a great time. Sexy and hilarious! I give a 5 star Google review.
I adore the Allways Lounge. The service is sweet, accommodating, flexible, and talented. The talent they book is always top tier and unique. The environment is one of the most unique and family-like in New Orleans.
I’ve been producing and attending shows at the Allways for over a decade! They foster a lovely community and provide space for some of the most talented performers and producers in New Orleans to make incredible, creative, entertaining, and very high quality work.Any night of the week you can find multiple performances happening on the cabaret stage in the front and the theater in the back, live music, burlesque, drag, theater, and often combinations of various forms. You could go there every night and see something completely different! And there’s often a pop up out front or on the back patio so you can have a delicious meal too. A true neighborhood gem. 💗
This place was absolutely amazing! True theater, style, singing, and dancing. I would highly recommend this to any couple or friend group looking for something to do in New Orleans. So much talent presented in the stage and memories created throughout the show.Even offered some fun souvenirs for purchase. Such an amazing night and show
Amazing staff, bartenders, and constantly growing and everchanging shows and casts. This truly is one of the most diverse venues Ive been to and I keep going back to see the amazing music, variety shows, drag shows, and of course burlesque shows. If youre wanting an amazing time with a different wonderful experience each show & beautiful humans, you definitely want to go here.
Wonderful show! First cabaret show and Pinky was an amazing host and performer, tons of fun.
My girlfriend and I went to the Vampire Burlesque last night. We LOVED it. The music was incredible. The plot was hilarious. The two main characters were so funny. Everyone was extremely talented. The atmosphere was on point, and I love how inclusive the show was. I will definitely be coming back.
Best time of my life !!!! I visited here on my trip to NOLA on my first night and the Babaret was INCREDIBLE best drag and even performances I’ve ever seen! It was so much variety in talent and jokes I just loved it so much. What an awesome space and awesome acts! 100% will be back next time I’m in NOLA! I cannot recommend this place especially their cabaret events (check the cake on their site )!!!Also bring cash , it was about a $15 entry (it might vary) they don’t take card but I managed to venmo one of the supervisors so maybe call and ask ahead of time about that.
Went to the Van Ella Bordella show while spending the week in NOLA and it was incredible. The Madame was hilarious, the show was perfectly raunchy and fun, and the piano player was incredible. Definitely worth the $25 and basically any seat is a good seat.
Always a good time! Ive been to several of the shows regularly hosted here and have thoroughly enjoyed each of them!Shows like Feys Gone Wild, the Foxy Rose Variety Show, and The New Orleans High Society Hour are a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours laughing and lusting your night away!
Fantastic time, incredible staff and performers. Very fun and highly recommended
This place was great!! Was looking for some LGBT events and activities, this place did not disappoint. The burlesque show was great! It was funny, sexy and also gave some history about New Orleans. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. We also stayed for a drag show which was also great!! The talent that this place holds is amazing. Im very happy we found this place.
We saw an AWESOME show by Van Ella Bordella: A Storyville Burlesque, followed by swing night The Slick Skillet Serenaders and Tsarina Hellfire on Sunday night. So much New Orleans magic and so many peak experiences 💖💖💖
The AllWays is a magically welcoming place with a heartbeat of art, passion and inclusiveness. You can tell how much love goes into it and the shows/events it presents. I feel lucky to get to see performance art and even perform on a regular basis. Thank you!
Wow! Just wow!! My partner and I came to the Allways lounge on Saturday night. And were blown away. The venue was so cool!! With the old school cabaret vibe and a hint of New Orleans originality. But the show we saw was spectacular! The Foxyrose Variety Show, was like nothing I’ve ever seen. It was every weird thing I wanted to see in the city, all in one! I can’t wait to come back and visit this place again!! I don’t usually leave reviews, but I saw one that left me compelled to. This place seems to celebrate people’s differences. And I would like to support that. So if you aren’t into diversity or self expression, maybe stay on bourbon street. This place is for the strange, not you.
I hate to write a bad review but feel the need to share our experience on Saturday November 4th. We brought my sister to New Orleans for her birthday and she really wanted to see a drag show, based on the online reviews and a drag show being advertised at AllWays Lounge we decided to check it out. When we arrived shortly before 11PM we noticed a very small number of guests, we asked BEFORE paying the $25 cover if they were doing a drag show at 11, we were told yes. The entertainment was actually a variety show with 2 burlesque performers, one very poorly qualified singer and 1 person dressed in a TeleTubby outfit which was supposed to be the drag portion. We tried to make the best of it but after spending $75 and paying $7 for each watered down drink we clearly felt ripped off. On Sunday we located a drag show at the Golden Lantern and could not have been more pleased, 0 cover and great $4 drinks. I hope our experience with AllWays is not common, in retrospect we should have made a stink with management while we were there, no one likes to feel ripped-off.
Saw the Van Ella Bordella here, and having seen many many burlesque shows in my life I can truly say this was one of the best! I look forward to seeing a lot of other entertainment at this lovely and inclusive venue. Thank you!
Ive attended a couple of shows at The Allways Lounge, and Ive performed in a few as well. I always have an amazing time there! The staff is friendly, and the performances are so much fun! I will return to this venue every time I visit New Orleans.
The Allways Lounge & Cabaret is a haven for the incredible local performers in our community. From breathtaking Burlesque and Drag performances to live music, comedy, and so much more, this place truly has it all. It is a cherished home for many talented individuals. The warm and accepting atmosphere, along with the strong support for the LGBTQ+ community, is something truly special. Trust me, you wouldnt want to miss shows like Van Ella Bordella, New Orleans High Society Hour, or a Vivacious Miss Audacious production, among many others. Whether youre on stage or in the audience, youll feel right at home here. Without a doubt, New Orleans would not be the same without this extraordinary space.
The staff & performers at Allways are always top notch! There’s food next door, the bartenders don’t mind if you bring it in! Loved The Van Ella Bordella & Smoke Show Cabaret! Great times.
A night to remember! My wife and I saw The Van Ella show which was spectacular. The ladies were sexy, and funny. Their performances were fantastic, and the piano player was remarkable. We sat in a vip seat in the front of the stage which was totally worth it. Just be prepared to be part of the show! A must do in my opinion if you’re visiting from out of town. It was a nice change of pace.
We had an Absolute Blast at the Show! If you want an amazing and Risqué night out, this is definitely a hot spot to go, hands down!! And Pinky DeVille is brilliantly beautiful and entertaining!! ♥️
The bar and bar staff were great, Very dissappointed with the FoxyRose Variety Show.i, The performers spent more time solicting tips, then earning them. Having seen other Burlesque shows, I expected attractive and talented performers to showcase their talent is a sexy and stylish show. The two female co-hosts were neither attractive or talented . We left after an hour, But I am sure we did not miss much. This was the only Burlesque show not sold out and in my opionion it does not sell out for a very good reason, It is not an entertaiining show. You are either being scolded about the rules or asked to give them money
Went for Sunday night linde hop dancing the turn out was great. They do burlesque shows in the back as well.
Went for a Christmas Eve queer cabaret with my brother, and had the Best time! The staff are super sweet and the service from them was top notch, but the real treat was the performers. From this fantastic Jewish burlesque duo to the hostesses with the mostess Tibby Honest and Bette Tittler, I couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining ringing in of Christmas Day. If you’re in New Orleans and Allways Lounge is NOT on your list, make plans to go now! It’s jolly, it’s inclusive and you’ll leave with a smile on your face.
My fav place to see a show in New Orleans!!! Always something going on, I love it! Def have to Uber to/from it tho
Awesome little place! The band was great, the drinks were cheap! The best thing was seeing all the young people actually dancing! No one was on their phones! No Snapchat or Instagram or Facebook or whatever else young folks used to try to convince others they matter! Very refreshing!I love the cotton ball clouds with lightning and rain! Very creative!
We saw the Van Ella Bordella Burlesque show. It was thoroughly entertaining! My husband and I had so much fun! This show is fun, funny, and sensual. I highly recommend it! I hope I get the opportunity to see it again.
What an AMAZING EVENING! Went and watched the Van Ella Bordella Burlesque show with my Wife and all I can say is WOW WHAT A NIGHT!The show was a riot, the bartender was super cool and friendly, and the atmosphere was authentic oltime New Orleans! As Arnold would say...ILL BE BACK!
I am a TransWoman. Do not always feel comfortable or safe in some bars but Allways lounge is the best. Nothing but super Queer silly fun with other humans that respect everyone. Even if you are straight homosapien everyone treats you with respect and kindness.
This isnt your normal burlesque... Its full of fun and an exceptional show with a great cast.Truly these are people who enjoy their craft and make it fun for the audience. If you come to New Orleans, leave Bourbon St alone for just a few and enjoy some true local artists!!!Thanks for a great time 😊
Van ELLA BORDELLA IS AMAZING!! Must see for tourists!! It’s like a history tour and a tiddy bar and a cultural explosion of local performers 💜💜💜💜💜
Absolutely enthralling show!!! One of our best NOLA experiences hands down 🙌🏼
The burlesque show was the best thing Ive ever seen! AMAZING!!!
Went to see The Van Ella Bordella, what a delightful show. Comedy, beautiful singing, and an all around awesome show. (Get the VIP front row tickets. Worth it completely.)Great music, fun atmosphere. The performers were having fun as well. If youre in New Orleans, dont skip this show.
I cant really put my finger on why a 3. Definitely not a terrible place but it also wasnt a 5. My wife & I saw POC during the Infinity Hour. It was fun. Our bartender Trish, he was cool! Id recommend it.
First time ever at a burlesque bar. this is not a personal review since i find this kind of entertainment culture problematic and it’s not “fun” for me. for people who enjoy though this is probably the most interesting place as confirmed by friends who’ve been to other burlesque shows in many different states. the dancers are politically woke which plays into their performances. my perception within the context of this one show is that 99% of the exposed body parts were of the female whereas no male parts appeared, and no body hair among those. perhaps questioning who the intended audience the spectacle serves the most might help “really” politicize the show. if you’re intending to be political, then it cannot be half done. putting this aside, it’s a must see place for fun, performance research and whatnot.
I highly suggest coming out to see the Van Ella Bordella burlesque show. I did not expect it to be as educational and funny. All the performers are truly talented. It a femme run show with performers that have different orientations and body types. Its was truly a wonderful performance as a whole and I enjoyed it more than the ones Ive seen in NY. Very unique one of a kind experience. Surely not a show youd want to miss!
SECRETS OF THE SEA shows are sooo much fun!! 🫶🏻🍹💋 The gals and I have been MANY times…sexy entertainers, surprising outbursts of laughter, audience participation, strong cocktails, and just amazing personalities and talent! 💕❤️💕❤️
I was looking forward to this show during my stay in NOLA. I want to provide feedback with hopes of improving the experience for future patrons.I definitely understand the need to remind and encourage tipping since some may not understand the process. However, for the majority (those of us who know how to tip), the incessant interruption in the show to demand we tip really took away from the talent of all the ladies. It was every few minutes and that is no exaggeration. It was not done in a tactful way but in a rude manner (not in a comical way)Not a great experience for those of us trying to enjoy and already tipping generously and voluntarily. My friend injured her knee on the step to walk up to stage (to tip). It is not lit up and if so it is poorly lit. She is young but it could be dangerous for an older person.Very poor experience here, sadly.
What a great venue! We stopped in for a variety show in the Twilight Room and got some peeks at Betsy Propanes Smoke Show on the main stage along the way - all full of wonderful talent. The drinks are affordable and tasty, and all the staff was helpful and welcoming. The Allways Lounge will be top of our list for local entertainment on future visits.
Came here to see the Lola Van Ella Burlesque show. The ladies did a fantastic job sharing their story and having fun with it. I have never been to a burlesque show before but I think this was a great start. The location was a bit sketchy until the bartender gave us a warm welcome and got the drinks flowing. I think the outside could use a bit of clean up or redesign to make it more inviting. It was kind of like walking past a red barn wall then noticing a door. There is a bright yellow pizza place next to it and a very busy arcade bar across the street that steal the attention from this hidden gem.
The Van Ella Bordella show is not one to be missed and exceeded our expectations by about 69,000,000 points on the international burlesque show scale of 1 to 10.Everyone on stage was authentically having a blast while being so dang talented. It was the highlight of our NOLA experience, which says a lot for a town full of endless maximalist possibilities. Leave your inhibitions at the door, sit back and enjoy the time of your life.
Absolutely LOVE this venue! The vibe, the drinks, the SHOWS are so good—special shoutout to the Van Ella Bordella, and the New Orleans High Society hour 💙
We’re locals and went to the LeVampier Cabaret, last Saturday night July 15. TOTAL WASTE OF $100.😡 It was supposed to be a burlesque cabaret. Sadly it was just 2 dudes and a lady insistently asking for tips. No story, no plot, not even funny. No musicians, just sad!😡 WE WONT RETURN, unless we verify that they actually have a real cast of musicians and talented performers.
The best show we’ve seen in NOLA!!! A must see!
Had an amazing time at the Foxy Rose Variety Show! I went on Halloween weekend and they delivered in all the best ways. Hitting on many Halloween classics, incredible performers, charismatic hosts and an all around fun environment. Thanks for a fabulous time ladies ☺️
A beautiful space with beautifully crafted shows! The bartenders are all very attractive and attentive! The shows in the front lounge as well as the twilight room are all delightful! So much talent on these stages! Truly an amazing time with incredible shows and performers!
I came to the show with my man & it was amazing & outstanding. You can definitely tell how much work and time these beautiful ladies but into the show. They were very active with the audience. Definitely would recommend the VIP seating for the best seats in the house. Definitely every time I come to New Orleans I will be stopping by and watch the show.
The Allways Lounge is an experience wholly unto itself. As the only bar with a Cabaret license youll see performances here that simply cant happen quite like this anywhere else in the US. Highly recommend for anyone local or traveling, but if youre closed minded this place isnt for you.
WOW!!! I was not expecting such a great show for a small venue! Van Ella Bordella Storyville is a must see if you like humor, sexy burlesque, and a little bit of history. The staff and performers were so nice. Definitely will be coming back!
I love this space with all my heart. Ive been to multiple events there and Im always overjoyed. Inclusive, fun, affordable, the allways lounge is part of the beating heart of our neighborhood.
I’m local, and love seeing shows here! Lovely staff, delicious food pop ups, and amazing variety of entertainment literally every night of the week. 10/10. 🤘🏻
The Van Ella Bordella is a Fantastic show. A “don’t miss this” experience in NOLA. The artists are truly talented and the show has been well written and well rehearsed. But plenty of ad lib moments when the situation calls for it in the grand tradition of vaudeville burlesque. Just the right amount of comedy mixed with titillation. This was a smart, fun show from wonderful talented women.
Fantastic venue as both a patron and performer! Friendly staff, joyous atmosphere, and snazzy drinks! Burlesque Bingo is a smash hit!
It was my first time in NOLA and we came with a bachelor/bachelorette party and we had the best time at the show! All the performers were beyond amazing, energetic, and humorous. Will definitely come back to experience it again 🔥
We went to see the VanElla Bordella and it was HILARIOUS. It was fun, sexy, engaging, and hilarious. Highly recommend. Bring lots of $1 bills- you’ll definitely want to throw them!
The Van Ella Bordella show was a blast. It was my first Burlesque show and the combination song and dance and comedy and the beautiful cast was worth every dollar and a can’t miss experience. If you are thinking about it definitely go and if you are thinking about not going but somehow are reading this review… go anyway!
We had such a great time at The Van Ella Bordella Burlesque show last night! We definitely recommend checking it out and upgrading to the VIP seats if you’ve got the budget. The AllWays Lounge is such a fun and eclectic venue with lots of other cool shows we’d love to see as well.
Very queer inclusive performance space. Every show is so much fun. Love the vibe of this place.
I’ve lived in NOLA over twenty years. I love this place. I’ve seen so many amazing acts there; and the staff is always lovely and attentive.
Just seen The Van Ella Bordella Show tonight and it was amazing! It was full of historical information and was sososososo funny. The place itself was wonderful, good bar, nice staff. Overall, if youre in town make catching a show here a must- it was definitely the highlight of our trip to NOLA.
My husband and I came here for our last night in NOLA and had so much fun. The ladies were hilarious and super talented. This was our first time at a burlesque show and I can’t wait to see another one sometime soon!
Had an amazing time watching Pinky Deville and her variety act!
My favorite dive for a good time. The atmosphere is chill and quirky, drinks were delicious, strong, and not overpriced. The burlesque is HIGHLY recommended
Amazing venue as always. Bette Tittler’s shows are amazing. Jaw on the floor type of entertainment! I’ll be back again and again to see Broadville Follies!
Wow! First time at a burlesque show! It was absolutely unforgettable! The story telling was fantastic along with the performers! Truly had an amazing time! I’ve been on vacation for a week and this is the first time that I haven’t thought about work for a straight two hours that to me is priceless!
Had a great time here with the Society of Sin Roll for Seduction crew! We were here for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party and it was a blast. Good strong drinks, great show, and a fun atmosphere. If I make it back to NOLA this will definitely be a venue I return to.
Such an amazing entertaining burlesque show! The girls are AMAZING! They’re all so beautiful, the dances are amazing! Everyone that sings along w the live pianist has a beautiful voice. The jokes and puns are hilarious. There are so many great surprising moments throughout the show. The burlesque show is combined with history, theatre, live music, and comedy. Worth the cost, they should probably charge more for the tix as it’s that great of a show. Bring cash so you can tip the girls! Highly recommend!
Omg. I had more fun here tonight. The bartender Trisha was amazing.I brought glass beads for the staff. They are working hard and missing out on parades.Tip hard and bring glass beads.(Plush appeal) just saying.Loved it. From beginning to end.Camp, tease, pasties!!!!If you are thinking of going to the allways lounge… do it.I loved everything about it.We will be back.
Great people, first and foremost, and a patron to arts. My wife and I had a wonderful time, catching a Van Ella Show here in this middle post pandemic time. Story telling, Burlesque artists, and a staff that believes in what you do. It was a fantastic evening, and we will definitely be back. If you are from out of New Orleans and want to catch a real show, in a location that is true to its roots, do not hesitate to come here!Thank you!!!
My time of the year for Always is December when the Amazing Acro Cats are there.I like swing night on Sunday after the show. The music and the drinks are always enjoyable. And the people are so friendly. Hope to see you soon.
I only got to spend 3 days in New Orleans, but was glad that one of the nights was spent seeing the Van Ella Bordella Burlesque show! Aside from the great talent shown by all the wonderful performers, what stood out most to me was just how much fun they were all having, which made the experience even more wonderful, and to make things EVEN better was how much great information about New Orleans lustfully sordid past was taught throughout the performance as well. There might be bigger burlesque shows in Nola, but I sincerely doubt there are any better!
It seems like a nice enough space. The bartenders are friendly. I think the show is a bit pricey at $25 for a bar and no guarantee of a seat or ability to see. And then theres an expectation of tips after a cover and buying a drink. I spent $38.00 before the show got started. Bathroom needs attention every hour. I think later in the night the bartenders start getting drunk and distracted.
Great place to see local burlesque and drag talent. They have great pop ups for food sometimes too. Bring all your money here!!!!
Genuinely lovely and sexy vibes - didnt eat there but drinks and entertainment were topnotch, would give more stars if available!
We are all a little weird and lifes a little weird, and when we find someone (or somewhere ) whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.Dr. Seuss so, be warned, if youre not weird, you wont like it.
I really have enjoyed some of the shows here the little shop show in October was amazing! I highly recommend if you’re in town visiting
Was recommended by greg at the cemetery tour on basin. glad we listened. once in a life time experience
We chose the Van Ella Bordella and we were not disappointed!!! All the performers genially seemed to be having a great time and The “professor” playing the piano impressed with an impromptu mash up of Danger Zone, WAP, and Bohemian Rhapsody I’ve already suggested to friends who love NOLA and never been. Thanks for a night the husband and I will be talking about for years.
The Van Ella Bordella: A Storyville Burlesque was fantastic. I love going to burlesque shows, and this far exceeded my expectations. This is one of the funniest, most sexy, educational and engaging shows that I have ever been to. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone visiting.
Loved the show! Personal and highly entertaining! Fun, funny, beautiful and definitely a must see! Would plan to go back on any and every return trip to New Orleans!Professor Ainsley was incredible on the piano, Gigi .... youre just wow! Everyone was so great! The hostess was funny and charming, they were all so fun together! Maimy was gorgeous and funny! The girl with her dog they were such a pair... the whole experience was one of my favorites of this trip. Im sorry I cant remember everyones names! The drinks... I blame the amazing drinks!Thank you all so much!
Went for the American themed night. Really enjoyed it! The show was a mix of burlesque, drag, singing and dancing. The cover was $10. Which is the perfect price. I would say worth no more or less especially because youll buy drinks and throw your bills on the stage for the girls. Bathrooms were clean, and the vibe was exactly what you want for a burlesque/drag show. The actual line up was awesome. A mix of funny, serious, strange and sexy! They had a BLM performance that was great! I could see myself going back for the occasional show.
This being written as of my first visit to the city of New Orleans I must admit I had zero experience with the lounge. It was at the suggestion of our cemetery tour guide (another story) that we take in any burlesque performances in the city, specifically recommending Allways. After returning to our hotel we decided on a whim to check out what Allways had to offer. Unfortunately at the time there was not enough VIP seating to accommodate my wife and I so we opted for general admission. We arrived early and found the staff was helpful, friendly and generous; especially with the drinks. Phenomenal. Our bartender told us they were opening the stage room for the show. Never having been to a burlesque I was completely ignorant of what to expect. Then Madam Van Ella graced the stage with the professor tickling the ivories to announce her arrival. The comedy, the routines, the sensuality and talent of the performers was mind blowing as well as ensorcelling. Madam Van Ella and her courtesans were amazing. Got a lot of laughs, some enlightening history, and a beautiful mash up of Aqua and Aguilera with one of the performers.I would recommend all people to check out Allways Lounge and check in any of their live performances but highly recommend seeing Madam Van Ella return on Thursday nights.TL;DR 10/10 would go again to Allways lounge10/10 would see a Van Ella production againPlease tip your bartenders and performers, always.
The Van Ella Bordella show is a beautiful, exciting, cultural experience. The exquisite Madame masterfully weaves entertainment, history, elegance, and debauchery. This is a must see for all locals. Witness powerful queer womxn uphold the legacy of past courtesans and entertainers who helped make the city and the culture what it is today.
Went to see the Horror Movie Burlesque Show in the Twilight Room. Great show and fantastic atmosphere! Good drinks and venue staff as well.
Was looking for a burlesque show and decided to try this place out. The inside was small and intimate. A bit run down looking, but New Orleans charm. The band and the performers was great! Very interactive. They did not have enough ones to make change when we first got there, so be sure to have some small bills with you for tips. Was a lot of fun!
Truly a gem! The best cabaret venue in all of New Orleans and maybe even the world. Such a magical place filled with magical people! Burlesque, drag, comedy, theater, live music, parties, and the weirdest, wildest, queerest, and greatest performers and performances around.
Show after show has been absolutely incredible. The level of talent on display at the Allways never ceases to stun. Staff is courteous, friendly, and make delicious drinks (Definitely get yourself a Gushie). LOVE that theyre a community-focused and oriented venue.
The Van Ella Bordella burlesque show was absolutely amazing! Sexy, funny and historically educational? Uhm yeah 10/10 would recommend.
Havent been on a Sunday in a while, but if Annie and Byron are still doing the free swing dance lessons at 8, that is a great time. You dont need a partner, several will be provided for you. Great place for music or a show in the theater in back. Very reasonable drink prices, really comfortable place. Minus one star for bartenders that often lack in customer service. Too much talking with their friends, not paying attention to anyone else. Thats the only knock, still recommend.
My favorite hangout as a local. Small, cozy space with inclusive performances and everything you could ask for in a neighborhood queer bar.
My wife and I saw the van Ella Bordella burlesque show. It was a fantastic show. Lola was amazing and funny, all the girls were sexy, and the piano player was super talented!
This place was AMAZING!!! I’ve been to shows in Vegas and this one was 1000x better! Staff was so nice and the show was amazing and funny and sexy. Basically everything you’d want in a show. Definitely recommend. It gets packed so make sure you get your tickets early.
Highly recommend The Van Ella Bordella show! When I say this was the highlight of our trip! It was funny, informative and spicy with class!!! I loved it 100 out of 10 recommend it!
Went for the cabaret New Years eve show and it did not disappoint! The show was filled with talented performers and the atmosphere was welcoming and inviting. Bar service was excellent considering how busy they were. They even provided a glass of champagne at midnight for free. It was a great experience and I will definitely visit the AllWays next time Im in NOLA!
The AllWays Lounge is the real deal. It is the home of New Orleans drag/burlesque/ counter cult. scene. If you are not seeing NOLA Queer Performance at the AllWays Lounge, then you are not seeing NOLA Queer Performance.
Love this place. The absolute best venue in the NOLA area for burlesque and drag shows. The best people and the friendliest staff around. We always have so much fun here.
This place has a more local crowd. They have shows and live music every week. My favorite is the swing dance night on Sundays. I dont know how to dance but definitely enjoyed myself.
Wife and I passing through just kicking for the night. Host and narrator was really good at everything! We had a great time
The Allways Lounge always provides a great vibe and excellent entertainment from some of the most unique performers youll find around. Not only one of the most unique places in New Orleans with a classy upscale feel, but probably one of the most special places on planet earth. 🥰
Loved loved loved the Van Ella Bordella Burlesque show!
Super cool local spot! $15 cover to see cabaret at 1130pm. Show started at midnight & ended a little after 130 with intermission around 1. Its very divey, very homey. People know each other here. The whole thing was intimate. The bartenders were both very friendly & drinks were cheap, around $5(+/-)/beer or simple liquor & mixer. When youre done at 130am, pop up shops appear outside so you can get your seafood boil or BBQ - new Orleans is crazy that way haha .. dont walk home though. Area isnt well lit & the roads are full of overgrown roots/pot holes/etc.The show itself was super quirky! I loved it! Burlesque with comedy & one of the performers had a beautiful voice. The show ended on a serious note but its so worth seeing.
A home to every cabaret, drag, and burlesque performer in New Orleans
I attended the Van Ella Bordella Show, and I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed it. It was funny, engaging, and educational! Definitely recommend getting VIP!
My wife and I went here to see burlesque show... and Wow!! What an amazing time!!! The ladies on stage know how to keep a crowd entertained, the dances performed were hilarious and sexy at the same time!!Also, learned a bit of knowledge on the history of burlesque! Great times were had by all, and we will be back!!
Small Dance area, but the Swing Dance Class was fun. And the band that came afterwards sounded great. I wish I could have stayed longer to listen to them more. A more younger crowd for the band, but mixed crowd for the dance lessons. Great Instructors and the Bartender was cool also.
The Van Ella Bordella was amazing at the Allways Lounge! This was a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should experience atleast once! I am so glad I found this place and will definitely be back in the future!
Fun, fun, fun!! Saw the burlesque show ... something Bayou and had a blast. The musicians ( bass viol and guitar) played a mix of blues/jazz with a great patter, the gals (strippers) designed their show: choreography, costumes and space, and oh my were they cute and sexy, even the “bouncer” contributed to this fun-charged revue. Off-beat vibe club with a small, intimate feel made this a must do in New Orleans.
My favorite place in this neighborhood for late night variety shows. Their events are always fantastic and well managed. I do wish they might let a few less people in for the big shows, but Ive also been turned away at the door here before, so I understand why they have such a packed house sometimes.
My home away from home! Truly the funnest must positive place to spend your time and money! Zalia and her staff are the best! As a guest, I am always satisfied. As a performer I trust that Ill be well taken care of.
Absolutely wonderful. open-minded, beautiful people, and a high key yet welcoming chill atmosphere. burlesque was inclusive and fun, beers were cheap and cant beat a good 6 dollar shot and beer combo.edit: the 4 star was an accidental click :)
My wife and I had our burlesque cherries popped together. We saw the lovely ladies of Storyville. All the artists were amazing but Maimie ( thats Amy but with a MMMMMM at the front) stole the show as well as forever changing how I watch some of my childhood television shows.
Honestly quite amateurish. The drinks were fine, but the show (supposed to be burlesque or something resembling burlesque) was silly. Didnt seem to have any scripting, mostly improv. No big deal for a free show off the street, but tickets were $40/person. Cant say I recommend.
This venue has no thematic agenda. Events here are eclectic and spirited with the folks who run them. The space is always clean and forgiving. The drinks are fast and well-priced, served by friendly staff. If you got here, it was probably for a thing, and its a good space for a thing.
The BEST burlesque show I have EVER been to! Seriously. I absolutely loved this entire show from start to finish. Immersive, hilarious, and immensely entertaining.
I always have a blast when I come to Allways. This is a divey bar but don’t let that dissuade you. The shows they put on are great, Jock Strap Lube Wrestling is as insanely fun as it sounds. The drag queens are fun and fabulous.
Give it 5 stars, but real rating is 4.5. Fabulous Burlesque Bingo with the great Lefty Lucy. What she does is not easy folks...Good crowd, hard working bartender, and no cover? What more do you want....Great time. Will return, and often...
This was an unexpected, amazing experience! The women are beautiful and diverse! Great performers.. drinks are strong and made just right. Go here, you won’t regret it
Such a fun spot! Sunday Swing nights are fantastic and there are quite a few talented dancers. Even if you cant swing dance its a great show to watch.
Went to the Fagan show and was sorely disappointed. At best it was a lounge act parody. Advertised as a festivus celebration was not and had one sassy burlesque girl who performed twice. Started an hour later than advertised and ended in an hour. Terrible.
The Van Ella Bordella show was fun, sexy and sassy! First time doing a burlesque show but, I cant imagine one better than this!
This is a really cool spot! I really loved my virgin drink and always appreciate a place that has none alcoholic drinks. We had the best time playing bingo with Lefty Lucy!
Is there a more perfect cabaret and lounge space? drag queens, burlesque, stiff drinks, excellent talent, lots of sparkles, fun for the whole 18+ family
The Dirty Dime Peep Show is AMAZING! Bella Blue and her troupe of artists are mesmerizing! Cant wait for next months performance! A great first experience with the burlesque scene!
The dancers were amazing hands down, the staff not so much. It was my first drag experience and it was something I wanted to go see for a very long time. So given I dont know the rules or even knew there were rules.to these place. That night it was a spurr of the moment mamas night out while the boys stayed at the hotel with the kids. When we got here I ordered drinks for my girlfriend and I & when the bartender asked if we were leaving our tab open, I politely asked him to close it. He made an unnecessary rude comment which ruined the experience for me the entire night. It was one thing that I had to wait 20 mins just to order my drinks, but to call me something just because I wanted to close my tab? Unnecessary. 3 stars for the dancers & host because they were amazing, 2 deductions for rude staff.
This establishment, The AllWays Lounge & Cabaret, is the citys central hub of burlesque and drag, and hosts sundry other performance arts (poetry, music, dancing, clownery, aerial acrobatics, puppet shows, housecat circuses, and so much more). As a resident here, its very near and dear to my heart. This place played an important role in the 2020 documentary To Decadence With Love, Thanks for Everything!. During the coronavirus pandemic the AllWays has made a world-famous effort to keep sexy clean by turning their stage inside out, hosting $5 peepshows through the front window, which drew in performers from all over the continent. The brilliant creativity and resilience Ive seen here is like no other place on the planet.
We went to New Orleans for a friends bachelorette party. The girls wanted to see strippers. We would have been better off watching paint dry. The strippers were lazy AND they were MUSTY! They kept their pants on and had zero moves. Ten thumbs down.
Overbooked the event by double capacity. Event organizer told us they were 75% over the fire code, did not offer refunds, but rather stacked tables on top of each other. Couldn’t see the stage from where they placed us. Unclean facility/restrooms. Overall bad experience and do not recommend this location.
EDITED: Went from 2 to 4 stars because the owner reached out to me, and many businesses wont do that so kudos to them. (Now starts previous review) Really cool place and fair drink prices, but I didnt have great bartenders the night I went. Wouldnt take the time to write a review, but they apparently werent happy about my %10 tip and gave themselves an extra $5 tip on me (ended up being a mistake).
Best cabaret show in New Orleans!
They have the best shows every week. You will never be disappointed. The beer is cold and the staff is always friendly. The mixed drinks are reasonably priced. And the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Best place in the city for burlesque, drag, so many creative & fun shows
BEST nite of our trip! Hope to see you next time. Entertainment, dancing, vibe - all amazing 🤩
I recently went to see two events back to back here - great vibe, performers and diversity of events! It wouldve been 5 stars but unfortunately the bartenders leave much to be desired due to their poor customer service.
Eclectic bar, friendly and open, with a wide range of music and performances. Everything from swing dance nights to singer/songwriter nights to erotic poetry nights to burlesque shows. Check out Sunday nights for swing dancing and every other Wednesdays trade off between blues dance night and erotic poetry nights.
We went to both naked karaoke and a burlesque show here and both were excellent. Wonderful, unique bar and felt very at home as a queer woman.
This cast is insanely talented. I cannot overstate what a racy, raucous and raunchy time there is to be had here. I loved getting to be a part of the action!
A very cool and fun location off of Elysian Fields and features lots of amazing live shows and performances, music, cabaret, and plays, but not swing dancing, went with friends and it was closed, he really should have called first though, always call to confirm kids.
Great atmosphere and very welcoming! I have never been more entertained in a bar and they have really good shows, cheap drinks and clean bathrooms. :)! Will be returning!
