Good variety of Norlens food, both slow cooked and fast food. Drink variety was good. The best part of coming here was the entertainment. The live band was terrific. There was a $5 cover charge per person for the band. They did a great job and we fronted another decent sized tip in the bucket that had upfront on stage before we left.
It is not a mystery to me why this restaurant is so well rated. From the moment I saw the food arrive, to the last bite, I was satisfied. This is also a great place to be adventurous and try the local foods you have never tried. The music was good too of course. This was the first place I tried shrimp and grits, and still am thinking about how good it was. π₯π¦π£
Had my husbands surprise 50th Birthday Party at BB Kings. Loved the 3rd floor balcony! The food was delicious and having our own bar kept the drinks flowing. Close enough to the band, dance floor, and crowd but private enough to sit, eat, and have conversations without screaming. Simple cannot compliment their staff enough! They helped unload the decorations, worked the elevator, and checked with us often to see if we needed anything. It was a great night!
Such a fun place! Its downtown New Orleans but its a more calm and fun environment, instead of a roudy drunk crowd. The wait staff was super nice. When we arrived we didnt know we needed a reservation (our cab driver told us about this place) so when we showed up we were on the waitlist. They said 45-60 minutes. We waited almost 1.5 hours. They used open table and texted us so we were able to walk around to near by shops. The food was GREAT! I got the ribs and fried pickles. Both were amazing! Our waitress was great! The band that played was amazing ($5 cover charge) and the singers were great!
This is an Amazing place!!!! It opens until 11 which was awesome and the reason I camr in because I had work until 8 and needed a late dinner. Paid 3$ for one of the best shows of my life. Live music, the group is amazing and will kick the tiredness out of you in 5 min. The singer is the best!!! What an amazing lady π everyone was dancing and having a great time on a Wednesday night! I want to move to New Orleans now! π food was amazing, service too. Overall one of the best places Ive been and I plan to go back when Im back in New Orleans
We went in here for lunch and we thought that the food was good. It was nothing more then good. This is a nice place, they have live music here which is nice. The waiters here are friendly and they do smile everytime they interact with you. They have 2 bars here and they have seatings upstairs as well.
Overall this is very good and by hands done the best service we had in NOLA. Thank you Sara for being so prompt and attentive. The food was amazing! We had the grilled shrimp, then ribs and pulled pork. Top notch. We even tried the deviled eggs with crawfish. The first band we heard was so good and felt truly like blues. But, when the house band played and had the crowd dancing to the oldies it turned a little to commercial for us. Great atomsphere and great service with good food. Luck of the draw on the band.
I give it four stars strictly for the live entertainment. I enjoyed the live jazz band so much. I came here with a large group during a family reunion. We pre-ordered food for the group. The food was just ok for me. We had ribs, mashed potatoes, green beans, Mac n cheese, chicken tenders., brisket. I liked the mashed potatoes and BBQ ribs the most. I didnt have any alcoholic beverages.
My sister and I were walking by the day after mardi gras celebrations ended and decided to check it out because there was live music. It was busy and the server in our area took a while to take our order. The drink I had was good. We ordered a bbq pulled pork sandwich and tater tots and a side of seafood rice. The only warm part of the food was the middle of the sandwich. Since the server seemed overwhelmed and we were hungry we ate the cold tots and semi warm sandwich but sent back the rice. Before my sister could finish her request the server said she would take the rice and have it warmed up. That led us to believe people send back cold food often. The manager was walking around and my sister asked for a dessert menu. She told her what the 2 options were and we picked one. It never came. On our way out we walked in to the gift shop area. They had expired dry rub on the shelves. I wanted bbq sauce but they didnt have any. We asked and the same manager who took our dessert order and she said she had to go somewhere else to get it. It took her about 15 minutes to come back and about 10 minutes to ring us up. This was my first and probably only time in New Orleans so I decided to suck bbn up the wait. The only reason I give 3 stars is only for the music. We saw two bands and they were amazing.
The band was cool but way too loud so nobody could hear anything at all. It wouldve been nice if they told us at the time we arrived there was an entertainment fee also. We waited for a while before we realised the hostess forgot about us and sat all the people who came in after while my very pregnant self was about to sweat to death in the heat. Our waitress kept disappearing. Food was good but the best was the macaroni. Took a long time to get our food also.
I love this place and visit each time Im in NOLA. It can get very crowded, so its best to visit on a weekday. The live music is always fun and the crowd is usually engaged. The food is good, although the side portions that come with a meal are rather small. The service depends on how busy they are, our waitress was fantastic despite being busy.
This. Place. Was. Amazing! Everything exceeded my expectations... The service, the food, the atmosphere, the experience! And I dont give out 5 star reviews UNLESS my expectations are exceeded.I was initially upset bc my fiance and I left our hotel with our eyes set on eating at Coops Place (bc... Well my name lol!) but the line was sooo long and I was DRIPPING with sweat in the middle of the night! You cant tell that this place is BB KINGS from the outside... It just looks like a regular ole bar but we looked at the menu posted outside and saw that they had jambalaya so we went with it.Turned out they didnt have any jambalaya that night but the food we got was finger lickin good! So good I forgot to take a picture hahaha! We got the BB PORK TATER TOTS as an appetizer (β warning: THIS IS A MEAL ALL IN ITSELF!) I got the chicken and ribs COMBO and my fiance got the catfish and shrimp platter. I wish I had just gotten ribs bc they were sooooo good! Everything was really. We ordered alcohol too... Me the mango something and my fiance the muddy water. BOTH were delicious and I dont like alcohol!Aside from food... Our tater tots took long bc they got burned the first time apparently. (we didnt even notice bc we were enjoying the atmosphere) so our food came out first. But our waiter was amazing! He let us know that they dropped another batch which would be on the house and he paid for our drinks. What amazing customer service!Along with the music which turned out to be an interactive experience with more acting thrown in than we had expected.... (the musicians were phenomenal!) this place set the standard with welcoming us to historic NOLA and Im really wanting to go back again tonight! Lol! We will definitely be back and I look forward to it!
Had an excellent time at BB Kings this evening. The cover band was great and played excellent music. Food and drinks were excellent as well. Had bread pudding for dessert which was also excellent. Stayed for about 3 hours from 8 until 11 when they closed. Would recommend this place for at least one evening of your stay in New Orleans.Went back December the 30th 2019 and had another good time. This time for dinner had sweet barbecue chicken with collard greens and potato salad. Excellent food and drink and a very good band playing as well.
I donβt know if it was the live music, the food, or the drinks... actually I do know. All 3. This was a great stop along our pilgrimage from bourbon to Frenchman St. The local band absolutely rocked the house lead by a 19 year old pianist with the soul of a legend! What a vibe. The bartender was chill but attentive and my cup was never empty. Definitely a repeat visit type of place. I say that mostly because we repeated our visit during our stay in town. Until next time!
Right across the street from the French Market. We came in on a Sunday around noon. Devin was our bartender and made the hands down best Bloody Mary Ive ever had at any establishment ever! The garnish was amazing, and the drink was superb. His Bloody Marys are not the same as the bars usual drinks, so make sure to ask for his!
The band was excellent. I didnβt mind the $5 cover charge. I can recommend the blues burger, greens, ribs, and baked beans. The Texas toast, ribs, and hush puppies arrived room temp but the server had them remade for us. The slaw and Mac & chz were just ok. I would definitely come back but only when the live band is playing.
1. Great live music and bar2. Artistic feel great table art3. Reasonably priced menu itemsThere is outside seating as well as balcony seating. When we visited we were told 2 bands would be playing. The first band was awesome and the young lady singing was a doll. She is singing so well it made me write this post as she continues to sing Members Only I will try to review the second band and food after I receive and eat the food! Something just needed to be said currently lol
Its a nice spot for catching live performances while grabbing a bite. Our server was a bit inattentive but they were also fairly crowded. We only ordered the nachos with pulled pork and drinks. We asked if the nachos were a good size to share but were not truly satisfied by the amount we received. They were tasty though. All-in-all it was decent enough and I would return for the atmosphere.
Went in for lunch. The hostess and waiter both greeted us right away and we had great service the whole time.We got there just in time for happy hour specials at 2:00 which they offered a handful of appetizers for $5. We got the boudin balls, which were delicious! Then we had red beans and rice with sausage, and a house salad. It was a perfect lunch with a little live blues playing. I dont remember the name of the band, but they were good and not too loud to enjoy while eating. Overall great experience!
Made reservations to celebrate my husband turning 30 and we had a great time! We had a small group of 5. Our waitress was phenomenal. The alcoholic drinks we ordered were delightful and we loved the tastiness of our dishes! The band was very interactive with the crowd and even sang happy birthday to those celebrating birthdays! We will definitely visit again when coming back to NOLA.
Nice place for a meal. Friendly and quick service. Our waiter was fantastic! He gave my 21 yr old son a small sample of many beers offered at the house for him to choose his very first beer. I enjoyed the jazz music playing by a live band while we ate. Our waiter showered us with tips and names of must see places while in NOLA. Needless to say, the food was super tasty.
My mother and I were visiting NOLA for the first time last week. We stumbled in here hoping to find some authentic food. We were immediately greeted by the manager (or owner, not sure) who was so sweet and welcoming. The atmosphere is awesome, they had a band playing that had the whole crowd dancing and singing along. We ordered the drinks the waiter recommended, the debris fries and shrimp and grits. I am NOT kidding when I say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. I ate every bite and was so satisfied. I am so thankful we came here for our one night in town as it gave us such a good taste of the city. I really hope we can come back!
This place was fantastic. I had the pulled pork meal and my girl had the chicken and ribs combo. The meal was excellent. It was a bit too much volume for me but that just made it a better value. The drink selection was nice and the band they had playing there (8/21/2018) was awesome!
Really enjoyed the ambiance. Our waitress was attentive and took good care of us. We had a group 12 and I have to say that I was not impressed with the kitchen. impressed with the kitchen. We all got our food at different times some had finished before other got the food. Other than that good place for live music and food was good the catfish was amazing.
The amazing band and singer that was there is the reason for this moderate review. They were phenomenal. The food . . . not so much. To be clear, the food was okay, but not great - which is probably to expected from a chain restaurant. The staff got my wifes nachos order wrong and it did include everything it was supposed to come with or pictured having. They were clearly just trying to get people out of the restaurant even though we paid a cover to listen to the band.
Upon arrival we were told that it would be a 45 minute wait for a table. At that point there were at least ten available tables that were clean and empty. After I was seated there was 8 available seats.. Iβm not sure if they need a new seating system or if poor management is to blame. Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. The good was hot and deliciousThe band was excellent and kept my family and I entertained.
Nice selection of drinks, great food. Live band was AMAZING. Dance floor if youre feeling frisky. Waiter was superb and made some great recommendations. Visited this place on New Yearβs Day so they ran out of a bunch of beers. If youβre in NOLA and you like jazz, you should definitely check this place out.
The atmosphere was great the music a must experience. This was the best evening listening to the house band. The food was just too salty for me, I had the gumbo and collard greens. Flavor was good but too much salt. I was not impressed by my menu choices. Loved the music.
Service was not that great, although food was quickly made. They placed us at a table right in the way of the kitchen / waiters even though the entire restaurant was empty. We moved the table ourselves 2 feet away from the kitchen path so the waiters werenβt right on top of us. We missed the live music, but chatted with a really nice musician on the way out. Maybe it would be a better experience with the live music and a better table/server
We were a group of 18 needing a place that could accommodate us for dinner. B.B. Kings was a good choice. The music was great and service was quick. Food was decent enough. Youre not going to get super high-quality food in a restaurant geared toward tourists, but there was enough of a variety to make the crowd happy. If I was with another large group, Id consider B.B. Kings again.
We had the greatest time here. We reserved a table for 9pm and got there a bit late - still got a front row spot at the Bob Dylan table. Food was amazing, would highly recommend the House Tater Tots with BBQ. We got lucky and got to see the house band, the BB King All Stars. I actually spoke to their guitarist briefly. Super cool guy. Will definitely come back here!!
Good food, very satisfied with dinner. Shared 2 different dinners of ribs and shredded pork, both were very good. If you like a spicy sauce, this isnt the one for you as it was a nice sweet and Smokey sauce. Had a 3 piece band, 2 guitarist and a drummer that were good. Reserved online, they had a table set aside for us with our name on the table. Reasonable prices for New Orleans, would do again.
Great food and drinks. The bar and table service is great! Wonderful music!! The gentlemen working the door is rude and not very clear why hes at the door. He kept asking me if u was going to eat?! Its a restaurant, so yes. He was really telling me that theres a cover charge: one for food and different one for the bar. Took us 3 to 4 minutes to understand what he communicating!
Awesome food and service! Best Shrimp and Grits around! The live music was incredible! Mike took the best care of our group! Jalicia was spot on with her food recommendations. Couldnt have asked for a better experience. If you are in NOLA... BB Kings is the place to go!
I was in town with some friends and heard about this place so we decided to give it a try. It was amazing! The hostess was very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. Jenny was our server and she was super attentive and friendly as well. The hurricane is definitely a must try. It was delicious. Our server even told us about some interesting things to do while we were still there. 10 out of 10. I will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and my son didnt read the description of what he ordered in detail and it had BBQ sauce on it. The manager brought out our food and when he figured out that my son didnt like BBQ sauce and he quickly replaced the same meal only without the sauce . The live music was great as well. I will definitely be back and I will be telling people to go tey it out and they will have a greater night with amazing food!!!
Great food and service. Its a little touristy, but it doesnt disappoint. The beer was great. I had a local brewery called Voodoo. It was an IPA with hints of grapefruit. The music was really good here. The lead singer cut up with the crowd. Id recommend!
We were looking for somewhere late for the kids to eat that had at least decent or better food. We are arrived five minutes before the kitchen closed Typically this would be one the stories were you leave a negative review however at BB Kings we were greeted by gracious staff and were told it doesnβt matter if the kitchen closes in five minutes come and have a seat. We were seated and we received excellent treatment from both the wait staff and management. Our food was perfect in all respects, I would happily recommend this restaurant to anybody else and I will definitely come back again.
They were remodeling and over came that wonderfully. The food great. The staff was short handed and still did pretty well. There were a couple of hitches, but management stepped up, Mike Williams, and made the evening a success. The local band was really pretty good.
This place is a GOOD TIME!! I had so much fun here and the drinks are good too! My only critique and greatest disappointment was the food. I had to send back my food twice. The gumbo was flavorless and the pasta wasnt good either. My friend ordered their lemon pepper wings which I would say was very tasty but other than that a great experience.
I loved this place. The service was fast and our server was very attentive, coming to check on us multiple times throughout the time we were there. The live music was phenomenal -- there were 2 female vocalists whose voices were so soulful and the band was very lively. Overall it was such a fun place to just sit, be with friends, listen to music and dance. There is a little dance floor for the adventurous. There were quite a few people who went up to dance which was fun to watch. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean, weird thing to note I suppose but I noticed not many of the bathrooms were that clean in NOLA. I will say, my vodka crans were a bit underwhelming, didnt taste much alcohol in them. But it didnt matter much to me because of the live music and great service. I loved that it wasnt overly crowded because you could really enjoy yourself. There was a lot of space and tables/seating available in the establishment.TLDR: Overall, the place had a very laid back vibe to it with wonderful live music, dancing, and great service. I liked that it wasnt too crowded. The drinks could have been better.
Great place for entertainment. The food was good, but the live band made it better! Beware, you have to pay a $5 per person entertainment fee. The first time Ive ever heard of such a thing. But honestly, the entertainment was so good, I probably would have paid more. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I service was slow.
Great place to listen to the blues. Food was good and the service was great. They usually have the different bands play during the day. And the place is family friendly, which is rare in the New Orleans music scene. Only thing we didnt like was that our table was rocky, but that was solved with a folded napkin.
GREAT Service! The lady at the host stand loved my kids and made us feel very welcome! She even checked on us as we had dinner! The pulled pork was PERFECT! The band was AMAZING! They had us come up, play and sing with them! The kids loved to sing Sesame Street with them! This is a MUST stop by when in the French Quarter! Cant wait to go back!
We came down to the French quarter in celebration of a birthday. It was a super hot day and we were in search of a cool spot to quench our thirst and grab a bite to eat when we heard some great live blues playing. We decided to check it out and got great drinks served up by our server, Ahmad. He was friendly, fast, and courteous. The manager, Hollywood stopped by to check on us and was so nice, he made us feel right at home. We are locals and have visited before but this was by far our best experience here and we plan to bring our family when they come visit from out of town. Definitely worth checking out for good tunes, great food, and even better service!
Went here for lunch on a weekday with the family. Even at lunch the club was lively with live music and appreciative patrons (everyone clapped). Our waiter was very pleasant and asked where we were from (next door in MS). Food was great I had jambalaya and the others had po-boys and barbecue and they liked it too. Overall a very good experience.
Simon our waiter tonight could bot have been any more attentive. Fantastic live band. No cover. Our food came quickly. The music was lively but not ear piercing. Go and have a great time.
Friendly and fast service throughout the dining experience. Live blues music with a engaging band playing their hearts out on stage. Great food served with a southern kick that represents both Louisiana and Tennessee cooking. Flavourful, fresh seafood is the way to go here because you will not be disappointed. Catfish is delicious and cooked perfectly. Shrimp are tender and taste as if they were plucked out of the ocean that day. A great dining experience for locals and travellers.
Food was outstanding. Live bands were exceptionally outstanding. We were attending the 2018 Essence Festival as a girls trip for myself, daughter and sisters. We enjoyed ourselves so much that Friday night that we went back on Saturday as well. We were not disappointed.
The music was great... the food was disappointing!! Average tasting and very small portions, presentation was lack luster, cornbread was hard, ice cream & whipped cream were melted on top of dessert... perhaps not enough servers for the night. The food just didnt measure up to the New Orleans dining excellence that we had been experiencing from smaller, less expensive establishments. That BAND was the best dish all night!
It was alright. Best part was the live jazz band. The fried fish was really good, but I didnt like the jumbalya. It was way too tomato-y. Waiters so nice but stretched way too thin. This probably wont be a place I go back to unless we know for sure we are getting the fried seafood.
Hands down the best part of our trip to NOLA. All the stuff you hear and see in TV about NOLA would not even come close to the hospitality we experienced here. Best Muddy Water in town!!! Great bands!!! Great food!!!! And AMAZING staff!!!! Seriously made our trip that much better. Special Thank you to Billy K, the management and staff for treating us right. Iβll have to ship out some cigars to you guys from my collection as a sign of gratitude. We had the best time and fantastic recommendations to check out the town from you guys.
Great seafood plate. Shrimp were well cooked. Atmosphere Is terrific. All the sides were hot and tasty. The service was impeccable. I highly recommend when traveling to New Orleans you try this place.
My family and I dined in last night and we had a great time. The hostess Maya greeted us at the door with the warmest smile then led us to our table. Our server was Sara who made sure we had everything we needed as fast as possible. Loved the food, the ribs are amazing! Will be back. Thanks Maya and Sara.
The burgers are excellent. Classically prepared and executed perfectly - juicy, fresh vegetables, and toasted bun on both sides of the bun. Prompt and friendly service. Also, great live music while you eat. Highly recommend.
2 Stars is higher score than I should give, but the music was every bit as good as expected. And the food was good, not great, but good. Overpriced of course, but you expect that in a tourist section of town.Scariest partβ waitress helped herself to a 120% tip on our order. We tipped decently, nearly 30%, but got an alert next morning from CC company about the exorbitant tip amount.
I am sitting in this fine establishment right now. I have been to the New Orleans club twice and the Memphis club numerous times. I love their food and music. The reason for th three star review is they have implemented a five dollar cover charge. They them give you two drink tickets for draft beer or well drinks. I personally watched at least three couples turn away it is sad how empty the place is. We got our free drinks and did tip our very great bartender on the value of the drinks. However, if we werenβt charged to get in and basically forced to buy well drinks, we would have probably spent a minimum of fifty dollars here as opposed to ten and a three dollar tip. Bad business decision. But, the food here is great, the band was good and the staff was wonderful. This is a management decision that is costing them money.
Great restaurant in the French Quarter. They have live music everyday. I love their menu because not only does it have the classic BB Kings fare but also includes many items one would expect when visiting New Orleans. Our servers, Devin and Hollywood were the best! You wont be disappointed in this great restaurant!
Very good food & nice atmosphere. After a few days in NOLA & not having the best meals, we decided to look for BBQ. BBs was one of our choices. We chose here because of the variety on the menu. Our waiter was Arthur and he was perfect. He gave us honest answers to what was good on the menu and checked on us regularly, never letting our glasses get empty. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. My friend left nothing but an empty bone on her plate. I had the BBQ pork. It was good too & enough for me to take home for dinner. The best sides are the beans, mac n cheese, & greens. There is also a live band playing in the background that enhances the environment. Parking can be a little challenging but Id definitely go back.
Went for BBQ and blues, got BBQ and a cover band. They were good, though quite loud, so be warned. The food was really tasty. We had the fried chicken, the brisket, the ribs, and Mac and cheese. All of these were great! The drinks were ehh... probably a better place for beer. Fun atmosphere/vibe. Would have liked more blues!
Phenomenal place to get your jazz and live music fix.Tip: If you arrive right at 9pm - right before the live music start, you can get some premium tables up on the second floor and watch the rest of the night like its your own club.Balconies on the back are also very nostalgic.Food is just descent at best :-) But you dont really go there for the food but for the music experience.
Awesome atmosphere!! The live music was so good!! Food was okay, my pork sandwich was really dry. Drinks were decent except they were out of the specialty shot glasses.
Had a wonderful experience! Bands was fantastic! Atmosphere exhilarating! Food...not so good! But my Dad, we honored him for 80 years on earth. He loves the Blues...The band honored him with a song I Can Only Imagine we were all in tears...it made up for the mediocre food.π
Run. Run far far away. I will not return to any of their locations. This place has insanely POOR management. First off, youre expected to pay a cover charge, even if youre sitting down to eat. Youre kidding, right? The prices here are already high, so this just creates and expensive sad experience. You can stand right outside the restaurant and watch the live band FOR FREE through the open windows!Second, they literally ran out of half the menu. No Po Boy bread. No shrimp. No hamburgers. And no brisket. I ended up ordering the brisket, but our server didnt know they were out, and ended up forgetting to tell me. So I sat while the rest of my table ate and finished their food. Without my food. I do not blame the server at all, he was wonderful and was tipped well! The place was semi-packed, so I understand that he never made it over to tell me. This is absolutely a management issue, not a server issue. If the management wasnt so incompetent, my experience wouldve been much better.Soooooo, I ended up ordering a chicken sandwich and it was RAW!Find yourself somewhere else to eat and spend your money. If you decide not to heed my advice, make sure you have a reservation, because they dont take walk-ins.
Family friendly bar with good food, drinks and live music. It definitely beats the offerings on Bourbon St. where it smells like 30 yrs of bad decisions. We went to B.B. Kings during happy hour and ordered off the appetizer menu since we were just wanting some snacks. Good value for the money.
Cool place. As a local, I probably wouldnt go there often. It used to be Jimmy Buffets ... New owner and completely new feel. The staff was very friendly. Only complaint was the drink prices. They could be a little lower, but at least with the signature shots, you get a free shot glass.
The food was amazing and the band was fantastic! My only complaint was the very slow service, it took a very long time to get our check and the waitress took my Coke that I was still drinking (but left my husbands empty glass) and never came back with it. Great place otherwise, though!
They say music all day, we saw two bands for a mere $5 cover charge. Dinner was gumbo, born on the bayou shrimp and grits, lip smacking pork ribs and catfish. All were delicious. The music was entertaining and danceable. There are more things on the menu to try.
Im having a hard time rating this place. On one hand, the waitress was slow slow slow. We waited for nearly 25 minutes for her to come back after we got our food. Even then we had to flag her down. She seemed really busy but she was serving other tables far more than ours. It was quite annoying. The food was also not great. I had jambalaya, and it seemed really sweet, and not spicy at all. It was damp with a sauce that was kind of like BBQ almost. Maybe I dont know what good jambalaya tastes like but sweet wasnt what I was expecting. Oh and also, it wasnt even warm. It was a few degrees warmer than room temp.My wife got a pulled pork sandwich and that was good but her fries were super super greasy. They has a nice crisp to them and the seasoning was good, but they left an oily taste in my mouth. Wife didnt like them either.I would give this place one star, BUT, the music was great. The band made the experience really fun. They were talented and did a really good job engaging the crowd. I would give this place another shot just because I enjoyed the music the band put on. I think it was led by Charles Elam
We had the best time all three times we found ourselves at BB Kings Blues Club in the week we were in New Orleans. For a $5 fee, we were able to come in the evenings, grab a drink and listen to great bands. Everything we had to eat it drink here was great. The bands were phenomenal. The service was top notch. Highly recommended! (Ben, the server, was awesome!)
Took our family to BB Kings because it offered live jazz music in the middle of the day. Our kids loved this place! The music was great, the food was excellent and reasonably priced, and our server, Kiki, was awesome! She went out of her way to help the picky eaters find something they loved! Later that night, we split up and 2 in our group went right back for drinks and music! Definitely will be back! #1 pick in NOLA for live music and eats!
Had such a great meal here! The food was great (I got the oyster po boy). And our server, Tasha, was amazing! She gave great advice on stuff to do around the area and was very attentive and friendly! Highly recommend!!
What a night! The music is fantastic and the artists even better. What a wonderful time I had there. Food was delicious. Drink a hurricane, they make the best of em! Also, if you like dancing, this might be your cue.
The band serenaded us while a nice cool breeze blew through the joint. This place has a good jazz vibe while appealing to a modern audience. The staff is wonderful. I ordered the crawfish bites and they are phenomenal. A really good blend of heat and savory. The fries, in my opinion, were too soft and should have been cooked more crispy. Edit- when I mentioned I thought they were too soft they brought me more crispy fries.
The first restaurant we visit in New Orleans. We loved it! It is amazing and our server had exceptional customer service! Hollywood our server will go the extra mile to make your experience one of a kind. Definitely recommend!Update: Today is our last day here and we just had to come back because after going to a few other places around the area we concluded that the service and the food here are absolutely unmatched. It was our last day and Hollywood even gifted us a beautiful TSHIRT each because of our honeymoon. This will be our spot when we come back to NOLA. We highly recommend it!
Fantastic atmosphere. Our waiter was amazing! And the music was fantastic. The decor is super fun and overall just a great place to go. A must visit for New Orleans tourists
We come every time we are in New Orleans. They have the best entertainment and among some of the best BBQ Ive had. Manager Kelly is awesome along with her staff. Today we had Crissie as server and she did an awesome job. Congrats to Hollywood, who we love, in going into the management trainee program. You cant miss by stopping at BB Kings for a drink, some great music and good food!
FUN , FUN, FUN! Great place for a sit down with your sweetheart or your family (ALL ages CAN ENJOY!). Food, BEST ENTERTAINMENT (ALL DAY LONG!), friendly staff. Upon our discovery of this Clubπ, it will FOREVER be our destination anytime were on the South shore in the Big Easy!!!LOVE This Place!! We (adults) loved it and so do our 8 & 14 yr old!!
Live music, good cajun food, friendly staff, great mixed drinks and cold beer. Theres a cover after 5pm ($5). Its well worth it. The bands can be amazing. We went every day of our 3 day trip.
Great Vibe and drinks ! Band was fabulous. Food looked good (we had already had dinner elsewhere but when we looked at the menu and saw plates they brought out, we wished we had eaten here instead). Brieana was behind the bar and was great....friendly, cute, fast, knowledgeable and best if all, she would clean up whenever she was not busy with customers...we Love a clean place and there r not many on Bourbon! We would definitely come back !
Manager Hollywood provided excellent service and created a wonderful dining experience. Food was delicious and delivered within a reasonable amount of time. Band was halted as Saints were playing crucial game for playoffs (disappointed as we were expecting live music).
First let me say they were busy, and our waitress was very good. Now before we even sit down they was a 5 dollar entertainment charge collected at the table, and it was ok but not great. Food was ho- hum fries were cold food came in waves, this person got one then you got one.and like most things in the French quarters was over priced.
Miss Tasha, our lovely waitress really made our evening. The band here was outstanding! Great service with folks who made you feel like family. My wife had the peach cobbler and said it was wonderful. They even brought her a complementary glass of wine. We will be coming back whenever we come to The French Quarter.
Loved the show. We didnt eat, but we really enjoyed the music. We sat downstairs in a corner by the stage. The acoustics were better than on the main floor (not as loud, but very clear) and the band was still visible.
Love the live music, the food was amazing ( at least mine was I had the debris tots, my friend said her ribs were kinda tough, which is kinda disappointing) it was reasonably priced though, they did have ample seating, including the balcony, our drinks were mixed well and very tasty. Overall I enjoyed the place, thought it was well kept & clean with a great atmosphere.
Our last night in NOLA, and we were tired of fish and oysters and were looking for some good, solid meat - as in BBQ and came across B B Kings Blues Club on Decatur St. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich, served with fries and cole slaw. It was excellent! We ventured and also tried the fried zucchini and bell peppers as an appetizer - definitely a good choice. Didnβt realize we were in for an evening of good jazz. Chucky C and his guys did not disappoint!!! 5 Stars to them! 4 stars to our server who was nice, but he forgot silverware and napkins, and I had to go to the bar to get them. Drinks were decent. Not all BBQ, nice selection on the menu, including pasta, chicken, ribs. Probably the cleanest restaurant restroom Iβve come across in 4 days! But they could use a bit more lighting in there. We came just to eat, but wound up staying for the music and more drinks ( of course, thatβs what they want you to doπ) Would definitely recommend and return.
First time here and the service was not good at all. I made reservations and my table was giving away. One of the hostee at the front door was very rude. We had a party of 6 and none of our food came out together. Once I recieved my food it was cold and my toast was not with it. They brought my toast to me 25 minutes later. The only good part was the band, they was awesome! I even tried to talk to the manager and he had little understanding.
We had lucked out on Frenchmen Street while scouring for a place to eat and listen to a bit of live music. We eventually ended up here. The band was energetic and the music was overall good. The prices were less than desirable as the cover was $10/person even though we were ordering food. Speaking of food, theyre not the cheapest around nor the tastiest. Recommendation is to drop by and grab a spot upstairs to listen to the music for a bit before or after a meal somewhere else (Im not sure what the cover is for upstairs though)
Drinks and apps were very good, atmosphere was even better, the food was very disappointing. The taste was fine, but the portions were way undersized. The brisket was machine sliced bacon thin, the catfish portions were cut even smaller so they could make two out of what would be one. For New Orleans, I was very disappointed. Server was very nice, however we waited and waited, only to be told our ticket was lost, another 30 mins, and the manager came out, finally out came the small portioned food. So dinner with a few drinks for 4 came to about $200. Go for drinks, apps, and atmosphere, get dinner elsewhere! Seems like they know they will get a flow of customers on the BB King great name, and cut the portion size to increase their margins.
Great music. Food ok. Kid friendly.Go there for the live music not the food. Itβs a place that you can take your kids and stay quite late with them. But they messed up my vegetarian order because the waiter didnβt know the chef had changed the recipe and the other food was not that great. Service is friendly. Wouldβve loved to stay longer if the kids had not been so tired.
We were in New Orleans for the week of the 4th of July and decided to stop in here. The food and music was wonderful but our experience started out poorly due to service related issues. We have to say thank you to the manager, Hollywood, as he went above and beyond to turn our negative into a complete positive. We ended up staying for another 5 hours watching the band (Kevin Gullage) perform, they were amazing! When we left, we were so pleased that we had stopped in and spent our afternoon here! Iβd definitely recommend going if youβre in town, you wonβt be disappointed!!
The food was great. The live performance phenomenal. The service not so much. My husband and I ate here around 4 in the afternoon. When we arrived the hostess sat us but seemed annoyed. We blew it off. We waited a good twenty minutes before anyone acknowledged us and greeted us. Once we were greeted and our order was taken we figured it would get better from there. They werent super busy. The waitress, was great personality wise, but after a while we didnt see her anymore and nobody came back to our table. When my husband asked the bartender if we could get our check or maybe find our waitress, he came back and told us he couldnt find her. And he couldnt cash us out. Eventually another girl came to our table and said they had a minor shift change and she is now our waitress. We let her know we were ready for our check. She brings it after about 15 minutes. We had the card ready trying to hand it to her she acted as if she didnt see it then ran off. When she came back again I held it out to her and she ran past me again. So my husband takes it to her as she was putting in an order, and I couldnt believe my eyes, she ran off and acted as if he wasnt there and went outside with another employee. We then asked for a manager as we have now been trying to pay for 25 minutes. She comes back and ask if we needed something and the manager never came as well. We told her we have been trying to pay. I think management would do a tons of good if they train their servers to acknowledge the shift change with their customers before they leave. If our waitress told us she was leaving we would have had paid then and tipped her, because she was very friendly. I would also suggest that the original waitress to take the time to introduce the new waitress or waiter. So there is no confusion on whose table it is. If this doesnt work have your employees stay until their table cashes out. Having worked in the food industry for years this experience was disheartening. From management to service. This place has so much potential for a great experience. Sadly we watched four other families going through what we were going through. As many food options are out there in New Orleans, Im not sure I would return here or share with my friends to go here. Hope something changes soon, like I said, so much potential here.
Been in New Orleans for 4 days and ate hear twice. The Blues bands were awesome. The ribs and macaroni and cheese is delicious. Tyler the bartender and Mike the manager took great care of us. We definitely recommend coming here.
Had a great late lunch here. The service staff was friendly, rather sweet, and efficient as all get out. The music, when they began playing, was great. A wonderful afternoon. Great chicken strips.
Food was very good. Bartender helpful and courteous. The band talked way too much. And they need to close the dance floor. Drunk women being totally disrespectful with their dancing. Want to go now.
Theres a $3 pp entry fee for the band. Pay at the door but you can leave and return later if you so choose. The fee increases to $5 in the evening. One thing I didnt like was the miscommunication on the NOLA Visitors Guide free drink coupon. The coupon has no conditions noted. I presented it to my server before ordering, she brings us 2 drinks. It wasnt until we were selling three check that she claims the coupon is per person and the free drink cant be split between 2 people, which was ridiculous. Ended up paying for my free drink and leaving with a 3rd unwanted drink. I left very displeased. Gave it a 3 rating because the food was good and the band was lively.
This would be a five star except our original waitress ignored us. Billy took care of us and had Rachel wait on us. She was amazing. Very friendly and attentive without being overly so. The food was to die for. I highly recommend it and be sure to ask for Rachel.
Great southern food, had a beef po boy that was absolutely better than expected, and the live band playing was a real delight. Service was a little on the slow side but the place was really crowded so that might be why. All in all I recommend this place
Recently visited BB Kings in New Orleans ...went back second night because we had such a great time! The food was plentiful and good. The staff was friendly, especially Ben, who has a great personality! Bill at the door was terrific! ...took good care of us..made us feel like VIPs!..
Our experience was amazing! The staff is so nice and when the B.B. King House Band was performing, they asked our son to go dance on stage! Talk about a once in a life time experience! The band was so nice and encouraging to our 7 year old! Totally family friend in the French Quarter!
I liked the ribs a lot, good rub and the sauce... Well I bought a couple of bottles to bring home πBeans and coleslaw was the best ever!Musicwise, they were fantastic and really connected with the audience!Only grudge is that the beers are fairly small, but of good quality.
We had a great time at B. B. Kings Blues Club! The food was excellent and the music very entertaining. Our server Jalicia was attentive and very friendly. We even had a picture taken with the very popular Hollywood. The manager then came for a chat with us. Great evening!
Great experience at BB Kings Blues Club in NOLA! Live music over lunch was great, food was great and large portions. We had nachos with debris (roast beef) and chicken and ribs. Probably SRO for dinner and evenings, but we would definitely make reservations and come again.
On last evening, me and two of my friends had the BEST dining experience. The waiter Simon was very kind, respectful, but most importantly knowledgeable of BB Kings menu and Bar selection. Although I rarely dine out; I enjoyed the food and drinks with my friends because Simon made it fun.
I was having so much fun that I lost my purse & glasses. When I returned from my cruise I called & they had stored it in the safe. Called to try to cancel my cards and it was even money still in there. The waitress that found it would not even take a reward. She just wanted me to enjoy her city. Forever grateful.
We had reservations for a large party over 3 weeks ago. At least 4 ppl never got their meals over 2 hours after ordering. Those that actually received their food said it was just okay. I will say the band was good. So unfortunate. If you cant handle large parties dont take the reservation, there were others that told us they couldnt accommodate us.
Great music and reasonably priced drinks and good. We listened to a great band, Kevin Gullage & friends. He has a great voice and very personable with those in attendance. Even sang a Disney song for the kids!
