Ive had 2 oddly fantastic experiences here. My friends and I came here twice on a Saturday night and it was strangely empty. So we decided to grab a drink since we were there. The bartender (forgot this name) is so engaging and friendly. In the back of the bar there is a dance floor area with a DJ and since it was empty we took our drinks and headed in the back. The DJ said to throw out requests so we made our own party. Eventually more people came in. I havent been there when its packed but we had a blast twice so far.
Bar of my heart for many years and a true neighborhood gem. They are in the midst of their COVID comeback and have recently reopened adding burlesque and comedy nights in addition to DJs on the weekends. PLEASE support this amazing local spot that is the cool funky sister of other amazing NYC spots the Back Room and the Auction House. Artsy cool space (everything is upcycled) with awesome people, great for a date, night out, or a low key chill sesh. Gem among gems!
I never leave negative reviews but I cant recommend this place because my friend had a racist encounter last night with the owner/bartender. I was there last night for a birthday celebration with a good friend. I am a white woman and my friend is a black man. We ordered our first round of gin and tonics with Hendricks and everything was fine. When he went back to order his second gin and tonic, the owner of the bar and bartender used the wrong gin. My friend pointed that out to him and the owner got very upset and rude with my friend and then asked his security guard to escort my friend out. Everything about this reaction was completely out of proportion and from an outside observer, looked distinctly racist. To ask for the correct gin is a very normal request and not something to overreact towards. Then to ask a security guard to escort my friend out as if he was a risk and danger to others was, again, a total overreaction (to put things nicely). I tried to speak to the security man escorting him out, but he just ignored me until my friend was outside. Im sure that, if I as a white woman had asked the owner of the bar to change my gin, he would have been irritated, but done it. And I would never have been escorted out. Later when people spoke with the owner, he admitted he overreacted and that my friend could come back inside. My friend obviously didnt want to. The owner even waived the 2k spending minimum for the birthday, another clear admission that what he had done was wrong. At a minimum, the owner should have gone outside and personally apologized to my friend, but he didnt do that. I will never be back to this bar.
I had a racist encounter at this bar, which is still quite shocking to me still as I type this. I was attending a grad party and had tried to order an espresso martini. The bartender informs me - a little snidely - that they don’t serve that. I asked for a gin and tonic instead (specifically Hendricks) I go back for a second drink and ask for the same thing. He pours a brand I am not familiar with (not Hendricks) and while doing so I try to get his attention that I want Hendricks instead. He supposedly doesn’t hear me and when I tell him after the fact he gets visibly upset and starts screaming at me. It was a very weird overreaction to what is a normal demand to a bar request. I then tell him he does not get to speak to me in that manner and tone and he IMMEDIATELY runs to the door, gets the security personnel and asks that I be escorted out. The escalation from a request to change a drink to calling for a show of force was disconcerting and startling to say the least. I have buried the lead here but I am Black. A white friend pointed out that were it her that made the same request, the outcome would have been completely different. And it is true. His reaction was completely egregious. Even if race wasn’t an issue, such a reaction would still be cause for concern. I would not recommend anyone to go to this establishment.
Super fun bar! Always cool art on the walls, performances, DJ nights, lounge space and a little yard. Recently had a blast there for a bday party - perfect place to book an event if you want a great space and dance party!
Attended an awesome birthday party in the back room. Great DJ, really fun decor and vibe. Staff was super nice. Drinks are pretty affordable.
I did the Heckle Mic here, where stand up comedians get roasted by the audience members. So much fun! Such a great time! Cant wait to do it again! Bar staff is awesome!
Refreshingly upbeat spot with kitschy decor, a sizable rear room for comedy, live music or (if you’re lucky) in-house DJ Troy. Back patio in the nice weather. Great staff. A best bet, no question.
I was the first of three patrons at the bar waiting to order a drink, but the last one to be served. When it was my turn to order, I asked for a seltzer. He put ice in a cup. I then asked for no ice and apologized, and then he said “you should have told me that beforehand”, and theatrically threw it across to the furthest ice tray. I’m normally not a confrontational person, but given his attitude, I felt it was warranted to point out that I was skipped twice among the three people waiting to be served, which provoked him to kick me out of the bar. This was after I paid to see a comedy show there, which I did enjoy at the time. Three of my friends left with me, and the four of us agreed that we will not patronize this place again, given the awful service. Also worth mentioning, this bartender was incredibly slow at his job. This was an empty bar, but it took a long time for him to complete each order.
I had a private event at ReVision Lounge and it was a huge hit! Great atmosphere, great drinks, friendly staff, I highly recommend visiting if youre in the area or hosting an event there!!
Welcoming and a fun place to check out artwork or to stop for a cocktail before a LES show. A highlight is live music in such an intimate venue, and awesome selections from DJ T-Roy.
Super cool bar. Laid back vibe, music was chill and the bartender was super friendly. I must have walked by this place a 100 times before I went in and I totally regret it! This is definitely a new staple to stop by when Im in the neighborhood.
The bartender here should ReVise his attitude. I went to a comedy show with 4 people and we left early because of the way he was acting. He seems at odds with his colleagues because he yelled at the other bartender too. It was super awkward because there were maybe 15-20 people at the comedy show. The comedy show was funny, so I feel bad that a quarter of their audience left midway, but you can blame the bartender.
I went for a party Saturday night - the bartender was helpful and made tasty drinks. We had a fun time dancing in the back area but the dj could have transitioned between songs better.
Its a cozy NYC bar with really cool artsy decor of vintage automobiles as coaches and a DJ stand. The bartender was super nice.Theres a back exit with ample room for people to chill, smoke and relax.Theres a unisex bathroom amongst the regulars.
Bought tickets for their comedy show only to get there and find the location closed and locked up with no signage. Locals said it had been closed for a while. Website and Google are still showing it as open with business as usual. Dont waste your time and money. Find a place that is actually open.
This place is awesome! Last Saturday night The DJ had me and my friends jammin to chill tunes, Gabe the bar tender was wicked fast pourin really good cocktails overall great and friendly staff. Great atmosphere layed back spot will definitely be back again.
Went for a private event and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Nice amount of space and the aesthetic is good.
Somewhat of a letdown decor-wise after visiting the sister bar Auction House on the UES It was comfortable but nothing particular set it apart. Not pleased with the pop music selection that you could turn the radio on for. This is NYC, I expect deeper more eclectic and provocative music choices.
Cool spot! heather is the best, have only had a blast the last few times i’ve been
Excellent bar and lounge! chill vibe, nice area to have a drink and catch a show.
Nice place for a small event. With great decor. Outdoor space also. Went to a party for a 40th and they had sushi and full bar with great margaritas.
When Pouring Robbins is overly crowded at the door, ReVision is your opposite drinking go-to. Cocktails $12. Pro tip: Bar is relatively relaxed before midnight, but gets jammed after 1a.
Love this place and the owners Megan and Troy. There is always a great event going on there. And the decor is fantastic.
Its a pretty relaxed bar with minimal noise. If youre throwing an event, it offers a great back room space.
Bartenders are disgusting and disrespectful; couldnt even make basic drinks . Hit or miss with the music ; overall sloppy place .
Great for a chill time and some dancing. Cheap shots and a younger crowd. The bartender is amazing
Relaxing atmosphere, good drinks, good service. Unique layout. Small outdoor space in back
Decent size, quaint, great bartenders and the music is good for a wide range top 40 crowd
Its a shame, this place was fun and the drinks were good but Im currently finishing my first hour waiting to close my tab. Hire more staff.
I like this bar. Not too grungy alphabet city dirty, not pretentious either. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean, not used to that in this neighborhood.
Never a ton of people, but always an awesome dance party / DJ going
Cool decor but the music is terrible. beer selection is very sad too.
Fun spot. Good times. Nice selection of drinks!
Great vibe and awesome staff. DJ Brian is the best. Great prices too.
Its been hit or miss sometimes, but when there is a good crowd its great.
Great music. Live crowd. Slow bartenders.
Great DJ and a packed house. The recycled style was cool too!
Hip, plenty of space to spread out, and a cool performance space in the back. Whats not to love?
Watered down drinks. overpriced drinks. rude doorman. pickpockets for cell phones abound.
Kitschy, but not in a good way, over priced drinks, illegal credit card minimum, sports on teevee.
Very cute lounge with its own unique personality.
Grey Old Skool on environment also drinks are kind of tea
Such a great little lesser known spot!
Excellent service and the drinks are just as excellent!!!
Always a blast when Gabriel is bartending
Great place to have fun
