Fred Astaire Dance Studios

After taking classes at the West Side Fred Astaire there is no question why this studio is host to a great number of champions. My fiance and I began lessons for our first wedding dance and were immediately hooked. All of the instructors are elite dancers, talented trainers, and all around professionals. We were trained by Vika, Jolanta, and Darius. I couldn’t recommend them more! Wonderful experience and highly recommend this studio!

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been dancing and training there for more than 17 years and cannot rave enough about Fred Astaire dance Studios West Side. The teachers are super professional, kind, flexible and fun. This is my little heaven on earth.

Experienced dancer or total newbie, the teachers here can work with you and help you improve or just get started - and they do it with humor and inexhaustible patience. Waltz, tango, samba, whatever attracts you, you’re likely to find yourself dancing like you never thought you could, and you will enjoy it! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Whatever kind of day you’ve been having, a few minutes in the studio will completely refocus your mind and get your muscles working! Give it a try - but be aware that you might get hooked!

One of the best decisions I ever made was to walk up the stairs to this studio 7 months ago and ask to learn the Argentine tango. I have learned so much (I knew nothing about dancing before) and I’ve had so much fun! Val is a fabulous instructor, so talented with many years of experience teaching, and an amazing dancer. Darius, Jolanta, Shone, Marko and all the other instructors are fantastic and so gifted as well. It is also such a wonderfully friendly community here among all the teachers and students. If you are even remotely interested in learning to dance, don’t wait. You’ll love it!!

We took dance lessons with Ana to prepare for our wedding first dance. We came in with minimal dancing experience and with only two weeks to the wedding, our expectation was to learn a few moves to feel more comfortable on the dance floor. Ana was not only able to teach us how to dance but also choreographed a full routine for us. She was friendly, patient, and a pleasure to work with. We got so many compliments on our first dance and how impressive it was. I am so happy we went to Fred Astaire!!

My husband and I took 5 classes with Ana to learn our wedding dance with limited dance experience and not only did she choreograph a beautiful piece for us, she taught us a lot about basic techniques and movements. So many of our guests were impressed by the dance and we can’t wait to take another class in the future for fun with Ana!

Editing my review upon follow up by the manager of this location both via email and this review. Shone reached out to apologize about a scheduling mishap and personally handled rebooking myself and my fiancé for our lesson and provided a complimentary session based on the fact that they cancelled our appointment while we were already at the studioVika, our instructor, was truly lovely and assisted us with learning some basic moves. We will be following up both with broad dance lessons and specific choreography as we get closer to the date. She made us feel truly comfortable

Fadi is an awesome wedding dance instructor. We have basically zero knowledge of basic dance steps. He quickly got us up to speed and choreographed a dance to a song we chose. He was an excellent teacher and could critique our mistakes without making us feel badly. He patiently taught us each move until we had an entire dance that he had choreographed for us. My now-husband and I had so much fun at our dance lessons with Fadi and our wedding dance was one of the highlights of our wedding. So many people complimented us on it!

I wandered into Fred Astaire West Side over a year ago because Id always wanted to learn ballroom. I got hooked and found myself performing in their showcase barely 5 months later. Its a great studio. Instructors and other students are warm and supportive. They hold monthly parties to practice, mingle, and perform if you want. They also produce an annual performance that serves as a fundraiser for a local school. Ive seen a wide range of ages and skill levels - the instructors do a great job of making dance approachable for anyone. While many come to learn social dancing or wedding routines, a good number of students dance competitively. You can get coaching from well-known dancers that visit periodically, as well. FYI, the studio only offers private lessons for singles or couples - no group lessons.

This is more than a dance studio- it’s a community. Everyone is supportive of how you want to dance: casually for fun, as a couple for an activity, as a serious student to learn more. Everyone is welcome. Love it here.

Wonderful place and people. Very supportive to help you grow in dance no matter what level. I started with no dance experience and with all the positive reinforcement now have fun competing around the country. Even if you start out just to get one dance down for a wedding I am sure you will want to return over and over again.

The teachers and other students at Fred Astaire Westside couldnt be more fun and friendly. They make you feel like part of a family. Although I have very little dancing experience they show incredible patience in helping me to learn and improve - and help me keep my sense of humor! Although I still have a lot to learn I can honestly say that my posture is vastly improved through taking the lessons. I highly recommend them.
