I love coming here for the drag show entertainment, especially on Mondays. The hosts are very funny and put on an excrement show. This is just a small sample of one of the many shows I’ve been to here. The crowd is always great with a lot of energy. Friendly security staff and amazing bartenders that prepare strong drinks. Everything is top notch. I believe on Thursdays they do live drag where they sing live, that’s awesome too. Mondays is drag wars which is so much fun to watch especially with Shiquida hall as the host.
Terrible bartender, I ask for 2 aperol spritzes, paid and left tips; I took a sip, and it was basically soda, I asked him politely if he could put more Aperl and he said I had to pay more, I explained to him that the drink doesnt taste right and he rudely said its this is how I do it, if you want more aperol you have to pay more” … Im speechless!
Took the wife and super conservative sister to see a drag show and we had the best time ever! We laughed, danced and smiled the whole time. Such friendly staff and performers. Im straight and loved the experience. That was my first time in a gay bar. Highly recommend it!
Pieces is a historic gay bar in the heart of the west village. Its a chill experience with cool bartenders and culturally relevant music during the day. They have fun weekly shows during the night that change. It gets crowded on the weekend and has a special Sunday program worth checking out. Highly recommended for a night out in the city!
I had a really great time at Pieces. It was a lot of fun! The atmosphere was buzzing with energy, and Liam, the bartender, played a big part in making the experience unforgettable. Not only is he a really great bartender, but hes also a genuinely nice guy. He made sure everyone at the bar felt welcome and taken care of. Ill definitely be back for more good times at Pieces!
Just as most places can feel electric with music, under the right circumstances, almost anywhere can end up fun when the stars align. But identifying an awesome NYC Institution like Pieces Bar, in Manhattan with explicit dance music, fun, entertainment and the bartenders (Liam) are very generous with drinks, is just awesome... Must see institution in NYC!!!!!!!
Bar tender charges $11 for a bottle of Corona. To the owner and manager. You think people are that desperate for a bottle of beer. You are a disgrace to allow this. Shame on you and that you get shut down soon for price fixing. #newyork attorneys general for allow this. Unless you are a big tipper and a regular here. Don’t go. The staff and owners don’t deserve the support. Straight off the bat $11 for a bottle of Corona.
Pieces is an iconic staple of Christopher Street! Cozy yet comforting, the decor is always above and beyond for each holiday or season. The staff is also so welcoming! I cannot overstate how kind Liam and Ruby are. They know how to make a drink ;) I love Sunday bingo with Chaka Khanvict. She’s so funny and the team behind the bar along with her good humor work so well together. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Est. 1993Layout/atmosphere*LGBTQ bar; two TVs at the bar; multiple disco balls; tables; DJ booth in back; red neon lightingFood/drink*No food menu
Nothing makes Pieces feel like home more than the excellent staff, especially Liam. He always welcomes me by name, knows my drink order immediately, and always gives the best conversation. I can always count on the staff to cheer me up on my lowest nights when I just wanna drown my sorrows. Thank you Pieces for being a friend.
This is the bar to go if youre looking for a down to earth place to hang out. The beverages are well priced and the show was worth it. When you arrive seek out Christian, hes top notch. Not only was he professional, he also was attentive while delivering the quality of service you expect from a great bartender. His friendly smile was welcoming and he made my group of friends feel at home. I highly recommend you check this place out next time youre seeking a place to enjoy your night out!
Bouncers are transphobic a-holes, unnecessarily violent and aggressive and bring down the entire community.Management does not deserve to stay in business if these are the kind of people they higher, and if they dont fix that then they obviously agree with how their employees treat their clientele.NOT A SINGLE DOLLAR should go them.
Pieces is by far my favorite local in the city! I’m a local and when I tell you… it’s rare I don’t choose pieces for a night out. Come for the show, stay for the boys! Saturdays are by far the best happy hour drag show in all of New York. They have the best staff, amazing DJ’s and their shows are unbeatable!Do not miss this west village gem.
I cannot say enough good things about Pieces! This place is a true treasure and has become my go-to spot in the city. The whole staff is super welcoming, friendly, and attentive, but I must say Anthony is an absolute gem! I seriously never fail to have an amazing night here!
This place never disappoints. Super fun atmosphere, really good mixed drinks. Hot staff thats actually friendly. Weve brought people here a few times that werent from NYC and its always been a great night.
Liam Hames Daniel’s is the above bartender and person you will ever meet. Everyone should be so lucky to have such a gem like them on their staff. He is the only reason I can to the village
Ever since moving to New York, Pieces has been such a safe haven & constant for me to go to. I have made genuine friends & connections with the workers there, Matty, Christian & Ant. The shows there are always a spectacle that you would NOT want to miss, along with celebrity sightings. 10/10 would recommend.
I had such a great experience the other night. It was a busy Halloween night, and the bartenders were so on it, in terms of service. I didn’t have to wait long at all for drinks all night. Anthony was so nice, and I will definitely be coming back!
Pieces is the BEST gay bar in the Village! The bartenders are always amazing! Happy hour has great drink specials and awesome music, and a KILLER drag show on Saturdays! My go to local!
I was in this bar on the last day of pride month 2023. I love this bar no matter what. But tonight was different. The young person who was the waiter in the bar tonight was kind and attentive. I am disabled and he made sure I was ok and had my ginger ale drinks. So sweet. Also the entertainment was wonderful. I don’t know the red heads name from drag race but thank you for recognizing an ally. I’m here for it…❤️❤️
Shows are great and drags are (often) awesome. However, prices are really too expensive that’s crazy. There is no menu so I don’t know if there is anything cheaper but everything I tried ruined me (beer, wine, cocktails) Add the tips to the drags and this always makes a costly evening.Music is great to dance once the show is over.Update:I paid $9 my beer (half pint) before tips
PLACE THIS IN YOUR BUCKET LIST! Pieces is a must-go-to bar whether you’re visiting or a local. All the vibes in this place! Gorgeous bartenders that will put a smile on your face filled with vibrancy paired with show stopping Queens all around - the talent & entertainment is unmatched! My absolute favorite nights to go is when startender Anthony is there (I’m not sure if there is more than one Anthony, but either way - go when Anthony is there! Sweetheart is an understatement!) …Great drinks and music.
From the fabulous drag shows to cute bartenders, I’ve never had a bad time at Pieces. If you’re in NYC, this place is a must if you want to dance, sing, and laugh all night.
This bar. Period. It’s so much fun! Drag queens are fun, but bartenders are better! CHRISTIAN is the mostly friendly (and sexy) bartender there is. There is no way you can’t have a good time when you come to 8 Christopher Street!
My friend and I got kicked out of the bar on Halloween night by a totally rude blonde waiter. I ordered two beers and my credit card was not returned with the bill. When I warned him, he just walked away saying I had knocked it to the ground. We searched the whole place and suddenly the card appeared in his hand. Then he handed it to me in a completely rude way and called security to take us out of the place.
Went on Monday night at 8 - it was not crowded. I was completely ignored by the bartenders while standing there at an empty spot at the bar with cash in my hand. They served the group of guys next to me and then went to the other side of the bar to chat with friends. Other bartenders continued to pass through the bar and looked at me without saying a word. I left because I couldnt get a drink or cash to tip the drag artists. Really a bummer since I came from out of state with a plan to see both drag shows that night.
I have been coming to “Pieces” at 8 Christopher Street, Manhattan for a number of years. I especially love this gay bar because of its pleasant atmosphere with super efficient and friendly bartenders Jason and Jamison. I usually go there early and find the clientele relaxed, comfortable and enjoying their cocktails. I see myself frequenting Pieces for years to come. I highly recommend stopping by to give it a try.
I was kicked out of the bar on Halloween by a blonde waiter. The reason: I ordered two beers and didnt get my credit card back. When asking about the card, the waiter said it was on the floor. I looked three times, getting down on the ground, and couldnt find it. After that, the waiter left the bar and “suddenly” the card was in his hand. With that, he felt it was right to kick us out of the bar. TOTAL XENOPHOBIA!
Always fun! Good music, amazing people, strong drinks. Anthony is my favorite bartender. Highly recommend this bar!! Has yet to disappoint.
Over priced drinks. $10 for a domestic beer. head to other local watering holes for better. Went for a drag show with some friends. AMAZING performances. I hope they pay their staff. the prices charged for the beer was ridiculous. So sorry to say no tip, save my money for the performers.Otherwise I had a great time
Pieces is a WV gem! The bar is usually frequented by locals and attracts a more chill gay crowd compared to HK. Having said that, youll get the occasional annoying females/visitors who dont know how to act in a gay bar. Always fun any day of the week!!!
The mishandling of my friend’s card situation during his trip was utterly unprofessional and inconsiderate. Blaming him for their own mistake was unacceptable and added unnecessary stress to his journey. Avoid this place if you want to have your card in the end of the night.
Pieces was my first gay bar many years ago. It has never disappointed me. The queens that performed and the bartenders have created a great atsomsphere for this gay cub. Ruby Roo was amazing, great bartender and so friendly.
The first gay bar I’d ever been to. I was 16 with a paper bracelet my friend’s cousin had passed back to me.That was 18 years ago, and I don’t say this to disparage the bar. It was literally the first time I was ever able to be myself. It might sound silly with the underwear parties or whatever, but I consider this place holy ground. My own personal stonewall.
Worst bar in NYC. Owner is rude. Steer clear. Hit famous Stonewall up the street!
I came into a dance floor, and it inspired me to dance. I thought the service was amazing and accommodating. And then the drag queen who performed made me laugh. Liam and Ruby made me so happy.
Pieces is the best bar in the area. The bartenders are always hot. The drag shows are fun. Good music and good vibes
Im honestly surprised this bar has 3.5 stars! ive been a few times and have always had an absolutely wonderful time here.came out last night and the vibes were just WONDERFUL. awesome drag performances, the gogo boys were divine, bartenders super friendly, and the crowd was SO friendly. love this spot :)
Not a safe place for LGBTQ BIPOC people. Security guard should be fired. He harassed us and the people we brought into their dead bar THREE TIMES! Seriously was so aggressive for no reason. I regret spending any money here. We will never be back.
Great friendly bar with especially Kevin as the bartender.
I had a great time coming here on a Thursday night. Its a small bar and we were packed in, but it was a great time. Great show. They are requiring proof of vaccinations to get into the bar so keep that in mind! I had my physical vaccination card and my friends showed mobile records from their healthcare providers, they accepted both. Just be prepared! One star off because the prices are high, but it is New York so no big surprise. Def not worth 0 stars on prices alone as the other reviewers are doing.
Bingo is always a blast, and Liam takes great care of us behind the bar!
Nov 22. Travelled the world. Love visiting new cities & local night life. Absolutely terrible experience. Unfortunately my first visit coincided with the worst drag act I’ve ever seen. Payed 10$ for 1 Bottle of beer. Stayed less than 5 minutes, Couldn’t wait to leave.
Nice bar, a little overpriced but nothing crazy, entertaining drag shows, but on Halloween night the bouncer refused to give me back my DL or let me in because he doesn’t know the difference between a real and fake ID. After trying to get my license back and him refusing I was forced to call the police, and my night was ruined as I had to wait an hour for the police to arrive just so I could get my license returned to me. Don’t think I’ll be coming back after that experience, such a shame to see a decent bar ruined because of an incompetent bouncer.
An old stalwart thats still good for a good drag show and a few strong drinks. They also make good hiring decisions on bartenders. Most of them are social, fun, and will earnestly chat you up if youre there for happy hour or early days.
Always a fun time at this place and love the shows! Antony is an awesome bartender too :) great energy all around
Watch out for Coco, the dancer. Tried to rip me off. Didnt stop the private dance at the 4 minute mark like they are SUPPOSED TO and then tried to charge me $80 instead of $20. I ended up having to break even at $40. Its frustrating to because I just wanted to be an honest and generous customer and I end up being taken advantage of. I had a great night until that point. Completely soured my night.
I really love this place- its a classic. This bar has enough personality for the whole west village. The decor is simple and relatively dark. They have a bunch of events from Karaoke to Drag nights so there typically is something to do beyond just drinking, but even if you want to, the drinks are reasonably priced and boozy enough. The energy they use is 100% wind. Youve got to love it! Hope to come back when Adele and Jennifer Lawrence come back :)
A bar that at first glance, doesnt seem like much. However a combination of regulars and newbies makes for a great crowd to its many drag shows. Pieces hosts a good variety of events and a fairly diverse crowd as well. Despite how small the space is I feel its sectioned off well and the culture there is generous enough to always give you space to get to the bathroom. Overall, a good spot to visit a little ways a way from Stonewall.
It gets cozy in here when there’s a drag show! Phenomenal from start to finish. Bartenders were quick and efficient, kind, and overall this was a wonderful stop on our night in the Village.
Most fun I have in all the gay bar/club in nyc.No jokes, shout out to the queens performing on Saturday night( bootsie/dd/ruby). Funny, energetic and professional. Also the dj was doing a wonderful job.Shots are generous and wifi without password.Bar area and dance floor are both clean and well planned.Mixed crowd and people are all having fun. Definitely recommend to come around 11pm.
This bar is fun, glamorous, and exciting. Liam and Ruby Roo are wonderful bartenders and Heidi Heaux is excellent entertainment.
The bouncer tonight CHASED my trans friend down the street!!! In what world is that acceptable???
One of the security/bouncers is one of the most disrespectful people I’ve ever encountered. I watched my girlfriend get hit on in front of me by an employee; he told her to ditch me and our friend. Will not be returning, especially after being completely ignored by him after hitting on my girlfriend.
The place is amazing, everyone is friendly...Except for the drinks...you dont taste the alcohol..They come in this little plastic cups full of juice.. I spend 110$ on 5 drinks?? Common on now,,,,Thats too much. I am not sure if tip was included but I will come in tipsy next time, tipsy enough to buy one drink. The Queens were amazing though...I loved Xunami
According to that twinkish weird blonde bartender, they dont take MasterCard!!!! LMAOOOI couldnt believe it. These cards are accepted literally everywhere worldwide, but NOT in a GAY bar at Christopher Street! Talk about being inclusive!!! What a sh!thole. Anyway, their loss!
Great lgbtq bar. They have drag shows on Saturday evenings ( not sure about other nights). The bouncer was exceptionally friendly and nice.Drinks were nice and so was the bartender. Although its a pretty decently sized bar, it can get a little cramped up when the crowds start pouring in.
The drag queens here are incredibly talented and I was always a fan of Pieces until last night when one of my friends was rudely verbally assaulted by Lucas the bartender. There was an extremely drunk / half-unconscious woman at the bar last night who was accompanied only by a strange man who wouldn’t explain to anyone how he knew her. She lost her phone and couldn’t tell anyone what her phone number or address was so a number of femme and non-binary people there, including my friends and I, were concerned for her safety and tried to help her. Lucas came outside to defend this man and to call us “bullies” for trying to help the woman out, and then referred to my friend as a “bitch” and a “straight white girl” when she is actually a Black lesbian and formerly a Pieces regular. I will not be returning anytime soon.
Cool bar we looked up while visiting. It was pretty dead when we showed up, but seems like it could be a lot of fun. The bartender, Nick R, was super friendly to us tourists and made recommendations for our next stop.
Jason is my favorite bartender and Liam... they are always in great spirits and beautiful souls. Keep up the amazing job and it amazing to call you friends
I wanted to like this place, but totally not cool for a $108 bill to pop up after two drinks. Charging $8 each for “pizza” bc of the minimum food requirement (that you don’t actually get or want lol) and $26 for a rail vodka soda in a red solo cup is not coolI thought the bill was mixed up with someone else’s. Did not enjoy that price gouging. Just wanted to pop in for a casual drink but somehow ended up with a $100 tab... very very lame
Pieces is a super fun bar in the West Village, but this place can get PACKED, and with the space being so damn small getting around is next to impossible. Woe to anyone trying to get into the girls bathroom; the line is so long that Im happy Im a guy!
Fun gay bar in NY. It’s a smaller bar that packs a fun crowd. They had drag events most nights in the back. Bartenders are friendly. It does get busy. It would be nice if they cleared out tables and chairs during busier times to allow for more room.
Honestly. I’m so disappointed with my trip to pieces last night, and I’ll probably never be returning. The “girls” (marked gender neutral) restroom, as the security man called it, was a standstill line for more than 20 min because people were CLEARLY doing drugs in there, so my friends; a 30 year old Trans person and a 50 year old newly widowed woman (also a bartender at one of our fine west village queer establishments) decided to use the urinal room. I know what you’re thinking,,, no big deal, par for the course. Well apparently not at pieces bar as the security detail decided it was absolutely necessary and appropriate to barge down the door on my friends because they were “girls not using the restroom for girls”. First of all, why would a male employee walk into a restroom seemingly with girls in it, that’s not good practice, that’s NOT indicative of a safe space, that’s frankly,,, disgusting. Second of all, my one friend is clearly not a girl, the security detail really needs to be educated on the topic of pronouns. Third of all. The berating was absolutely unnecessary as they came out and apologized immediately. I’ve genuinely never seen a more poorly handled situation and I’m LITERALLY a bouncer at one of the busiest gay bars in the village.
Terrible. The wait staff is absolutely the most rude ever. Bar apparently has a 2 drink minimum and its not posted anywhere in the back part of the bar where we were. I ordered one drink then he comes back with the drink and informs me its a two drink minimum. This is by design because the bar knows most people just wouldnt order anything if they knew that in advance. The bartender Steven was incredibly rude to my female friend. He threatened to keep her card if she didnt order a second drink. In which case she had to remind him it was illegal to do such a thing. In addition, the crowd at the bar was well beyond what the fire marshal would ever allow or consider to be safe. Shame on this establishment and their employees for being rude and for their unethical practices. Formal complaints are next on my list.
Liam and Ruby were too much fun behind the bar! We had such a fun time and def cannot wait to go back!
First thing, bartender… IWas at the bar and he was cleaning up all the time. Actually took my drink away a twice, when I was done… I told him the first time nicely ohhh you took my drink away… I was not done with that, and he made another drink, second time, I told him you took again my drink, he wasn’t. I mean your the only bartender around. Who else would do it ? And he said “I don’t care”…. Of course that guy doesn’t care… because I’m the one who paying for drinks unfinished.Yesterday also a problem with the promoterMy table was the first one at entrance to the show area. He was blocking. So when I tried to get in by there, he said go the other way, I told him you’re jocking this is my table, and in a rude way he said “I’m not jocking, I’m the promotor and you have to go the other way”I saw that guy doing the same thing to other people who were there…So what they think? They can talk as they want to customers?Guys don’t spend your money here…
Best drag show I’ve been to. Went Monday night for the Drag Wars show (starts at 11pm). The Hostess is a freakin’ riot. She made me laugh all night and that isn’t easy. I went during world pride month and yes she made us laugh but she stopped and talking about the important of Stonewall which is huge. Many people, including LGBTQ+ don’t know its history or importance. She taught the children than night, including a close straight friend I brought with me for his first show. It’s small, intimate, inclusive, safe, and fun. 10/10 recommend.
Enjoyed this place in the past but was really turned off by the racists drag show tonight. With everything going on today, the MC/headliner’s should not be making such disgusting and offensive Mexican jokes.any excuse to claim that it’s just comedy is BS. You are not a comedian with a scripted show, you’re putting on a drag show ...[insert sassy joke here].
Who can give a bar that has 3 dollar happy hour specials anything less than 5 stars in NYC? Oh and did I mention that theres karaoke on Tuesdays which is always a blast? Fun drag shows, fun unpretentious crowd makes this a special gay bar in The Village
The bartender on July 28,2019... white and black striped Adidas pants and a black tank top... was HORRENDOUS. I can hire ANYONE in my business to pour a drink which is ALL he actually did. When I go to a bar,I expect the bartender to remember me at the bar and at LEAST my drink... he didn’t give a care in the World. He seemed bored and bothered when you wanted anything. If you want a gay clientele to be interested, at least have a bartender that can at LEAST talk to the guys at the bar, but he was more worried about his phone and social life than anything happening at the bar.
Must have been here over a dozen times through the last several years, both during and post-college. Generally a great, friendly vibe, until my experience this Tuesday with a close friend. Having spent 2+ hours at the bar enjoying our time and drinks, and undeniably being the quietest people during our stay there, it confused the ***k out of us when the bartender offered us a last round for free before literally berating and screaming at us, saying that he never wanted to see us inside his bar again. Uncalled for! My friend and I have BOTH have experience bartending in NYC - we knew that this sort of customer treatment was unacceptable, and the bartenders lack of even attempting to justify this treatment spoke for itself. Out of respect we kept our mouths shut until the new bartender came a while later, and both decided to tip HIM what the bartender WOULD have received had he not basically treated us like animals. I think its safe to say that this bar has lost these two customers - for life.
We go every Sunday for bingo. Ruby always takes great care of us. It’s why we come back!
Pieces is a great gay bar in the West Village. The bar is tucked away and a little hard to find. I actually found that refreshing seeing that most bars in the city stick out like sore thumbs when nestled in quaint neighborhoods like that. Karaoke is a blast too! Pieces is totally open to anything, so dont be afraid to let lose and have fun!
Pieces is not my favorite gay bar in the West Village. It has a dance area that is not very large, and an even smaller area to just stand and chat by the bar. If you want to dance then you will probably have a good time.
IF you can’t make a martini you shouldn’t be a bartender (I’m a NYC bartender). I asked the bartender for a Tito’s martini straight up, which if you live under a rock, is just chilled vodka in a shaker and poured in a stem glass... the bartender gave me this spiel about how it’s be ten+ minutes because he had to serve other customers, which by the way didn’t exist since everyone was too busy watching the drag show. He, A) didn’t know how to make it or b) was too lazy. EVEN THOUGH he had zero customers. Dear Pieces, get yourself competent bartenders.
Bouncers need a serious attitude check. There are way too many gay bars worth visiting without being degraded and disrespected at the door. Will not be back.
I always have a good time when I go out to pieces! Good drag, great drinks from Christian the bartender! Everyone should come out to Pieces!
So this may be a Thursday thing, but the bartender clearly does not know how to manage the bar. My friend and I sat at the end of it and had to keep picking up a white rag and waiving it to get our bartenders attention. I dont expect him to be up my butt, but I do expect him to have enough awareness of his customers to know when a drink is empty.
Great place! Very happy and lively!!
If your not white don’t come here, you will regret it.
Good happy hour prices . Some good events. Happy hour is a bit of a snooze though. No energy in the place, super dark, and nothing happening. Maybe blast some fancy tunes and make a happy hour dance party.
Its small in here, and it gets really crowded, so expect to sweat when you youre on the dancefloor. if youre a Woman, expect to go outside and try to find a restroom...cause theyre isnt one for ladies here. Ive heard good things about the Bingo on Sunday, so Im definitely gonna check it out soon.
Anthony the bartender is one of the main reasons to go to the bar. He made my entire parties experience amazing. Thank you!
Had a lovely time! Great place for a drag show. Drinks were nice. We had a great night!
Gay karaoke bar in the heart of the West Village. Fun crowd and decently priced drinks almost always result in a fun time. Drag queens are friendly and mingle with the audience quite a bit.
Every staff member I have encountered has been kind and I have been coming here for almost a decade.
I love this place and the drag shows, but I have to prepare myself for the very unwelcoming energy that exists towards nonbinary and bisexual people there.
Very good place to hang out with friends, all the workers are very attentive! the bartender Christian served us and was very friendly and attentive, cheers
The people in this bar were ridiculous and did not grant my female friends access to the bar because of their sex. The door guy a older black african american said that the owner said that all females that enter the bar must have a male with them. No where is that stated nor is it tagged as a male bar in any advertisement. When we asked for the owners information of course everyone that worked their refused to give it to us.So if you are female I wouldnt attempt to go into this bar and if you are male I dont recommend this bar.
Nailed it with the Sunday bingo drag show and the bar men were super nice. A really great experience, check it out!!
It was fun checking this place out. The drag show entertainment was very interactive with the attendees so it was fun to watch & participate. The shots are overpriced, the drinks are okay.
This is just the right place when you need a drinl, a place to feel comfortable in, a chance to meet someone new or just a new experience. Their underwear parties are for anyone so stop worrying about it. Its just the right amount of chill. So enjoy it and have a good time.
Chill gay bar with a weird layout that sometimes smells funny due to them not changing out the mops they use to clean the floors. Still worth a stop for a drag show or drink if your barhopping in the West Village.
The security guard was such a butt hole, he’s the y’all black guy! He wouldn’t accept my government ID I drove all the way from Virginia to go there and he turned me around. I even had my form from the DMV stating that I had ordered my new DL, it also had my info on it and he still wouldn’t accept it. I’m totally disappointed I’ve fought for this country and I couldn’t even gain entrance to a night bar without the hassle 👎🏼
Pieces has been a go-to spot for many years now. They catered to the community through the pandemic and it carried over with the staff.
Last night, sat 30th,me and other 4 friends going for a drink after closing the bar were we work we end up in this place driven by the only girl in the goup, was already 3am and the place was not busy, the staff looked really annoyed to see and serve us,even if more then 20% of tips in cash was left for every bill, when the reply rude person that easy at the door begin to kick (for real) us out,all ND the only girl with us was still inside when the person at the door LETTARALLY THROW HER IN THE STREET.All of us were without words of that act of violence against a girl, and then laughing on our astonished faces and one of us screamed at this dude till I closed the door call the police.
I have no clue what a previous Google Places reviewer meant by saying women are denied entrance here. I got in solo dolo, no isssue. My two female friends? They also came to Pieces without male counterparts and without a snafu. The three dollar happy hour specials were a win/win for my pocketbook. (Free!) Kareoke funsies are held one Saturday a month and every Tuesday from 8:30 pm till 4 am.
Two of us tried ordering drinks for ten minutes but the bartenders kept ignoring us. The bar wasn’t even busy. Seems like a trend based on other reviews. Don’t give them your money.
Best drag in the city. Come early to get good seats, stay late for great music and vibes.
Honestly awful service. Heard barstaff complain about customers not tipping enough (very loudly) the staff are on their phones most of time. Awful place!
Small space with a large bar with dance floor. They pour stiff drinks. I was here on Halloween night, so it was a little crazy of a crowd, but never felt too crowded.
Fun and fabulous atmosphere, excellent music, great drag shows, and strong drinks. The bartenders are amahzing and its always a good time!
If you’re in The Village you gotta go to Pieces. See Liam & Ruby and play some drag Bingo on Sundays!
Was there 2/16/20 and although the place was overly packed. The crowd is great and the coat check guy that night was very awesome and beautiful. Hiiii. 😘
I get that businesses are trying to work through the shutdown, but $26 for a vodka tonic is gouging. We also were forced to order food which came in the form of an inedible microwave pizza and raw taquitos.
Worst bar in NYC. Clueless bartenders. Check your receipts before you sign!
Often features drag shows, great atmosphere and crowd. not has hectic as Hell’s Kitchen bars but just as fun.
What a blast! Great drinks and show! Cannot wait to go back!
Oh Pieces, how I love you let me count the ways. Gays, a dive, karaoke, shots who could ask for anything more. I always have the best time here. You will meet cool people and have a grand ole time!
I went there last monday with my bf for the dragshow, it was really cool (the queens were awesome!).
A hoot and a half - guaranteed good time!Highly recommend Thursday evenings with Jasmine Rice LaBeija!!!! Her talent is unparalleled.
Been hanging here for yrs. 1st bar you hit heading west to Christopher st from. east 8th st. Fun campy dive bar w various themes after happy hour. And still open.
Staff make it seem like visitors miss things, when in reality its just a pretext to kick out people they dont like
My friends were humiliated after the waiter said a card had been lost!!!
Watered down drinks. Literally spent $150 on 4 vodka sodas and 4 tequila shots and tasted like water. Skip this place. Don’t recommend.
This bar is always a blast. Hit it up for Sunday afternoon bingo with the legendary Marti Gold Cummings for a classic NYC experience.
If you hate having a great time with amazing people and phenomenal drinks, then do NOT come here. One of the best places in NYC and likely the world!!!!!
Always enjoy the drag and Ru Paul watch parties. Yuhua Hamasaki is great
IM SOBERWHEN I ASKED THE BARTENDER ABOUT MOCKTAILS AND/OR NEAR BEER, HE JUST KNODDED NO AND I GOT A FREE BOOK AND WALKED OUT THE DOOR
Sat for 6 minutes while the bartender walkedBack and forth making a comment about the movie that was on the screen from where I was sitting. Poor service but this is when you get from very young inexperience bartenders
Everyone was incredibly friendly!
Not a safe environment. friend got drugged here. there are safer and cheaper bars in the city
Its just a regular mostly comfortable spot. Decent entertainment depending on the night. Bar tender is friendly.
Performers are wildly incredible, drinks are wildly expensive. welcome to new york
Was 86ed over a year ago...still no idea what I did?... Up to that point it was a good ride..apologized til blue in the face...to no avail sadly me coming out didnt pan out with my gay bros.
Fantastic dive bar, filled with adorable bartenders and cheap & strong drinks! Some nights it’s a quiet neighborhood bar, other nights, it’s filled with drag queens and loud music!
West village gay bar with a younger crowd. Look for karaoke nights and their monthly underwear party on weekends. Beer, vodka sodas and gays, thats pieces.
These people know how to keep you entertained, there is always a drag queen ready to dance and put on a show and the bartenders are quick.
The bartender was extremely rude. But other then that the place was nice and drinks were good.
Hottest bartender Anthony let me charge my phone
Wednesday nights are so fun. Shuga Cain is an incredible queen, MC and performer.
I have never been to a place so offensive-Americas favorite gay bar? Hates straight people. And disrespects straight people. This bar is appalling and offensive.
Bartender was too busy to take cards? Pride weekend should be better staffed.
The bouncer is extremely unprofessional and aggressive I did not feel safe.
Fun spot with friendly staff and decent drinks. Came for a drag show which was funny and entertaining.
Went June 25th, on pride, and hasd a blast!!! 10 dollar cover charge with great music and a live crowd!
This was always my starting bar on a night out. Early in the night when its less crowded and the happy hour specials were cheap.

Drinks were way too watered down to pay full price. Music & atmosphere was good.
Great happy hour prices, bartender was great. Black night on the TV I couldve done w/o
Nice bar. Shame this waiter was sooo rude to me and my friends last night. So unprofessional, avoid
It was such a fun small bar!!!! The queens were giving.
Used to love this place but the bartenders have seriously just ruined it lol.
A low key, local West Village bar with a friendly crowd. Some nights can get really crowded and fun.
Drinks are ok bartenders are nice happy hour ia good later a little crowded.
Fun atmosphere, great Drag Show on Monday nights with a lovely host. 👍
They took my friends valid ID for no reason.
Fun gay bar with fun drag shows
Excellent value. Sexy staff. Best indoor viewing of NYC Pride Parade.
Had a super fun evening with friendly people
Pretty cool place. Sometimes too crowded but good specials and fun daily events.
Best night ever. Drinks and performance was incredible
Worst lap dance in New York history by the y’all russian guy. Left half way through it.
Love the drag shows and cheap drinks
$30 for cocktail. Will never be back there.
Awesome very friendly awesome atmosphere top of the line professional hosts and dancers
Overpriced, Negroni drink 17 bucks plus tax on a house gin, the rooftop price...
This place is fun, I wish the bar tender was more enthusiastic, attentive and friendly
Not open at 2pm as indicated on VM, Store sign and Google maps. Please update accordingly!
Don’t go here! My friends got roofied by the bartender!! Wait staff is horrible!!
Service is atrocious, the drag show is terrible.
Please write correct time of the show

Great at being exactly what it is: a gay dive bar in the West Village.
The drag shows are a blast
