Wish we had something like this back home. Awesome vibe. Awesome Karaoke. Great Staff. Just a note to those whining about Vertical Ids. Bars are NOT allowed to take them. I used to be a bar manager. You are supposed to get them changed when you turn 21. Grow up, you are 21 now.

Me and my husband gave the sandbar a shot because it was close to our airbnb and we are so glad we did. The music is wonderful and they have a great amount of options. Ignore all the reviews every single worker we met were nothing but friendly and they really made the experience top notch. They set up pong for us our first night and were very attentive with drinks and any questions about the area we had. We came back on our last night and had the best time! It made us sad to leave if we lived in the area it would definitely be our regular weekend hangout!

PROs - location , vibe , barCONs - too loud sometimes , service was okWas staying pretty close to this bar and we dropped by for a drink. At first I was really impressed with the ambience with lights and songs .. I liked the vibe but my friend thought it was too loud . We got a seat very close to the speakers and it was loud . The place was busy and lots of people were dancing etc. .bar was also busy and the service was a bit slow . Just had some quick drinks and we left . Not sure of the food situation here. I liked it overall but could be less loud (according to my friend :) )

Loved doing karaoke here. We had a great time. Mixed fun crowd. Drinks were reasonably priced.

We came here for a good time and they would not let us in since half of us only had vertical license. Pretty disappointing for coming a long way. You should change your ways. Went to a different bar that took our business.

This place has the best karaoke host in the world! For that reason, the place gets really crowded. If you love karaoke this is a great place to be, however, on busy nights, dont expect to sing more than once or twice.

The bouncer thought my id was fake (I understand it was senior week) im 24z but he got in my face asking where my id was from & was telling me to call to cops for them to check my id. He finally gave it back after yelling at me and when I walked out he opened the door and said he knew it was fake cause I left. Idk who would stay after being screamed at. If you have issues with fake ids get an id scanned and not scream at your customers.

Walked into the bar and the bouncer would not even look at our ID’s because they are vertical ID’s. We are all over the age of 21. The bouncer was blatantly rude. I have never heard of a place not taking vertical ID’s before. Maybe the staff should learn how to determine whether an ID is fake so they can take valid vertical forms of identification.

Best and only karaoke bar in OCMD. Every night is a new experience and whether you sing and drink or watch and drink, you can have a great time.

Super fun karaoke bar! Been here a couple of times and the vibe is always a good time. Cheap drinks, friendly staff.

All karaoke all the time. This joint has been around pretty much forever. It is definitely a little divey. But the rough around the edges elements are the source of the sandbars charm. For a fun night out, you should definitely hit this spot. No requirement to sing, so you can just watch all the crazy!

So July 3 we arrived to the venue at 8 PM, waited 1-1/2 hours for KJ to arrive, we were the first to arrive. Than a young guy arrives hands us a lamated page to log on, my phone and wifes phone batteries low, so we logged on with our nieces phone. He calls up wife about 40 min later after 7 or 8 singers. He calls her by her nieces name even after she told him her name. He never calls me up, so after 20 singers I approach him, ask why I never got called, apparently I wasnt on his list, I said Im going to talk to the manager. He than said youre never going to sing here but Ill still be here. He tried to say thats how karaoke is done, I told him I was in the business for 30 yrs, it was unethical to treat customers that way. We had been going to the venue since mid 90s, and am not going back, ever!

Great karoke spot. Variety of music. No books. Knowledgeable bar tender on drinks which were amazing. Up kept and clean. Security was personable and great location to our hotel. Will be back. 10 out of 10!

The best place, great vibes, beer pong, and fun MC

I was not impressed with the Karaoke DJ of 5 July, he waited 5 minutes before the start of karaoke to give out instructions for an app to download. i downloaded created an account and helped my aunt and uncle pick out songs. The DJ was asked to fix one of the names but kept ignoring the request; he put my aunt and uncles names way down whatever list the app or he created.The DJ was rude and told my uncle he wasnt going to let him sing and said get the f--k out of here my uncle spoke to the manager who was also rude. My uncle had a karaoke business for 30 years and respect of the customers was what brought people back. We will not go here again.

Guy running the karaoke ruins a fun experience. Full stop. He exclaims how everyone is welcome but then proceeds to berate and degrade those who sing. Karaoke is a supposed to be a fun and inviting experience. Instead we were met with a man who calls our name and we run up excited only for him to ridicule us. He continues to say on the microphone after our excitement - “f*** that song” and publicly humiliate our song choice. I should add it was not an obscure song but rather one that has reached the top charts in recent days. We were there with a mixed gender bachelor party but were made to feel like outcasts. Our friend managed to get a song in and the crowd loved him while he had a good time. The host thought it was appropriate to inquire of the crowd had found his balls because our friend has fun singing the song. This is very sad to see an establishment treat its customers this way. Please be wary when choosing your night spots.

Wonderful staff who aims is for you to have a good time. A bit of a dive, but one of the best kind. Bartenders are fast to serve decent priced drinks with a smile. The karaoke DJ is well experienced and really gets the crowd involved. Locals may get more singing time in, but with an extensive lineup, youre pretty sure to get at least one song in. A wonderful crowd thats forgiving for those who arent great singers just as much as if youre very good.Highly recommend checking them out if you enjoy karaoke.

I go there strictly for the karaoke, however if theres another option Ill go there instead.The guy running the karaoke constantly wants to be the center of attention and occasionally can be downright rude, apparently he doesnt know that its his job to make the clients shine.He also seems almost apologetic when a client wants to do a country song. Hes got to qualify it by asking the crowd do you like country? Ive never heard him say do you like rock and roll?, or do you like rap?Just a quick side note about another place the epic bar and grill at the Grand has karaoke Friday and Saturday but that guy needs to buy a personality.

Im in Ocean City on vacation and this was by far the most fun bar I visited. Other bars have charges just to enter (not even a real cover, just a charge) and they were nowhere near as fun as The Sandbar. Great vibes, good bartenders, and an overall fantastic experience. I highly recommend visiting this bar if youre on vacation.

Great place for karaoke with a nice stage. The man running the karaoke had a great personality and tried to get everyone involved for a good time. Drinks were decently priced and had a pretty good amount of seating. Nothing really to rave about but good place to sing and dance if you want too.

Last stop we made because we wasnt ready to go home...lol And it was well worth it...the bartender was great! From the time we sat down until we left which was only a hour we felt welcome and accommodated that they wanted us to enjoy our time there. And We definitely did..I got a drink created just for me and a couple of dances in...cant wait to return. This place rock! Thank for a awesome ending of our weekend getaway!

Its definitely not fancy but it ended up being very fun, we decided to join in on the karaoke and it was so fun. The group was very lively and supportive to all singers, The dancing was a blast, And the dj was cool, very fun.

We visited The Sandbar for the first time. Its a rather small facility, but it has ALOT of personality. The host of the Karaoke alternates stand up comedy, singing and MC duties and is a lot of fun. There are no milk based drinks at the bar, but our beers were reasonably priced. I think the layout would be better for seating of the long tables in front were broken up into separate seating for 4...there was not much seating available.

Best place in Ocean City. The MC is Bounces around the place and makes everybody Have a great time. Just not the singers. He make sure that everybody that is there feels like they are the same age, at a frat party. Whether youre 21 or 90 , he doesnt care. Drinks are great, prices are decent and overall. Its a great place to hang out. Especially if youre looking to forget about life for a while and just enjoy it to its fullest.I guarantee that any bad reviews you see are probably from Die Hard karaoke singers who dont want to Be at a show, They want to be the show. Because that is what this is. A Club that people can just let their hair down and have fun at. Not a straight , boring. Karaoke show. Like a Las Vegas type of crowd participating comedy show And the only place in Ocean City That you can experience anything like it.

The MC is awesome, really good at keeping the crowd hype and involved. The bar overall is a bit dingy, but its dimly lit so easy to overlook and kind of part of the theme. Bartenders were great, drinks were well made. We had lots of fun.

Dj is more into hearing himself than than letting others sing. Hire a new DJ. He’s not personable and actually is a detriment to paying customers waiting to sing at a Karaoke bar, this isn’t even close.

Had a GREAT time playing pool and listening to karaoke! Didnt know what to expect when we first walked in but by the time we left we were friends with everyone. We even ended up singing a song or two. The staff was awesome and the MC should not only be a singer but a comedian! Loved the place! !!!

I would leave less than 1 star if I could. The guy at the front with very awesome tribal tattoos said they were at capacity due to Covid. Okay, no problem. Then we were patiently waiting as our friend walked right in with no issues, and then 2 other people walked up and were told to go to the back door.When asked why we can’t use the back door, we were told that the people that were let in the back door “were every day customers”So that’s pretty lit.They also allow nudity on stage during off nights (I was the nude person)...it’s gross

I had too much fun at this bar! I went with two of my best friends, and we all had a blast! We stopped by for a few hours each night that we were on vacation, we couldnt help ourselves! The bartenders were awesome, and the DJs were hilarious! The atmosphere was constantly upbeat, and everyone we met was so friendly! I would most definitely go back to this bar, and I dont doubt that I would have just as much as I did the first 4 times! 😆

I gave veen coming to this place at least twice a year since 2012. I love it! The owner is a sweetheart and fun loving, the staff are very nice to be working in that atmosphere(lol its karaoke, expect bad singers occasionally), and the DJ is hilarious. Although the doors opened at 8, things didnt get rolling for another hour, so take your time getting there. Great crowd, a lot of interesting characters which naturally makes for plenty of laughs. Its nothing fancy but we would come back in an instant just for the entertainment factor.

My fiancé and I do ton of karaoke, and this was by far our worst experience. The KJ was rude. We waited 2 hours to sing. When he called my fiancé’s song, he waited—no exaggeration—3 seconds before handing the song off to “the birthday boy”. No “going, going, gone”. We had made noise and pointed to my fiancé. He claimed he couldn’t read the name (it’s a VERY common name). When I approached him, all he said was, “well everyone’s been waiting and I called the song and no one came up.” The KJ also made lewd comments while on stage. Never going back. Props to the staff for cleaning off the tables frequently though, and the security for pointing out the sign up window.

Been there 3 nights, the crowd gravitates to the dance floor, fridays the craziest, and the crowd is not the most sophisticated. The bartenders are quick to serve you. The DJ will take three song from you and play one or all depending on what will keep the party going; so read the crowd and pick accordingly

Had an amazing time. Staff was great and very welcoming. It was a Sunday night so the crowd size was perfect and intimate. HIGHLY recommend it. The drinks are reasonably priced.

Stopped in 2 times while we were in OC and had a great time. Staff was nice and very fast and always trying to keep everything clean. Not the classiest place but you will definitely have a blast.

Bartenders are good. The mc skips you and lets his friends up. If youre not in his circle good luck singing.

Came here for my birthday. Got there at 10pm left and 12:30 and my name still was not called to come on stage. People who came in after us (and clearly knew the DJ) came in and jumped the line to sing. DJ puts people he wants up there and songs he wants to hear up. Absolutely ridiculous.

8 of us went there to sing at the worlds best karaoke place. We went up to put our song in and they werent taking anymore singers, thats understandable that its full and wont have time but we came there to sing paid $5 each to get in and didnt get to sing so we left but wasted $40 just to walk in the door. It was only midnight :/ just bummed us out...

We got really intoxicated and I dont remember much. The karaoke was a blast and the drinks were tasty. Besides that Ill have to update my review after we go again next year because this was one of our last stops

Awesome karaoke Soundsystem and stage.the staff was awesome, from the bouncers to the bartenders and the dj.The dj has great stage presentation. Hell occasionally get on stage with you with a fake guitar to mime the classic power chords of many karaoke staples. No food though but I did see people at their tables with burger King so I guess they dont mind outside food brought in.

We had a great time at the sandbar. The DJ/ kj was very funny and super nice. He really interacted with the audience to help people try out karaoke. He plays a mean air guitar! This place is for adults only.

The bartenders were extremely racist. Overall the experience was alright if only because the karaoke speakers were set up nicely. I (an African American) came in with three Caucasian friends and received covert glares and whispers all night. To give context of the scene, this bar had only 8 people total. When I tried to order a drink I was denied; but not only were my friends able to get a drink, but the bartenders went out of their way to tell my Caucasian friends not to give me a drink because of my skin color. Do not come here by choice; there are better options. Trust me

Great bar to relax and listen to karaoke. Sat at the the bar and talked to the owner. We were treated like we were locals. No phone there. Staff was great. No food so must be 21, but owner was ok with bringing in pizza or anything. We werent there to inspect the building so that wasnt an issue for us. Definitely going back.

Enjoyed our time at the Sandbar and the chance to sing some karaoke. However, It quickly becomes overcrowded. And the DJ didnt seem to understand how to keep a rotation of singers going. So some people went up multiple times while others didnt get to sing.

Karaoke Bar, need I say more. The drink selection was terrible but had the basics. Malibu and pineapple was delicious. The singing however, the reason we left.

Do not go here! My mom has been trying to come here for years to sing . There’s always an issue, either no ones in there or the rude body guard out front will harass you. Broke my Id claiming it was fake and carded my 60 year old mom and aunt that were old enough to be his mother. -1 experience do not come better options up the street !

Fun spot to bring friends and family out to, have a few drinks and sing a few songs. Bar tenders are quick and friendly. Get there early on weekends as the wait list to sing will exceed 2 hours on busy nights.

Been going to this place for quite some time, it is alot of fun and great service. However, the place is getting a little run down... the bathroom are pretty gross, table nasty... but after a few drinks you forget about all that. I will still he going there and having a blast! J.

Ceiling is moldy and had water damage and holes, long island ice tea wasnt very good (though reasonably priced), we waited 60 min after putting our names in for karaoke but never got a chance to go.

The one place in OCMD you can sing Karaoke till you loose your mind and sound good at the same time.Great song selection list to choose from . Full bar , pool tables and plenty of seating if needed .Fyi if you want to sing get there early enough to sign in. Its worth the time ....

Bar is pretty clean, bartenders are wick and polite, the decor is a little odd, and the song selection needs to be updated to include the last 10 years or so. Im just visiting and this place is touted as a top notch karaoke joint, so an outdated song list is a downer.

Dont stop believing for a minute that this is anything but a karaoke bar. If youre half way there and realize you want craft beer youre going to be livin on a prayer. If youre looking for bourbon it aint nothing but a heartbreak, and if its food youre after it aint nothing but a mistake.

We have been going to ocmd since I was a kid and my big brother Chris Garrison used to Rock at Spinner and Hubcap show and that was the name back then and it was part of our lives for many years and unfortunately Chris passed away at the young age of 55 so our hearts are broken but this year I want to sing some of his songs there in his memory!! Bouncer took my friends ID (who is 24) because he said it wasnt real. Wouldnt give the ID back until police came. Bar finds nothing of value when compared to other bars in ocmd. Would not go back again

Ive never been more scared in my life. the owner grabbed my arm so hard that it brought tears to my eyes. Not that I was in the right but the abuse that was used my the owner was so bad that I had to report it to the police.

Suddenly was told I cant be served anymore, told bartender I wasnt driving and whats up, then my bff was being thrown out, literally being carried, she is 5 ft 120lbs....she has fingerprint bruises on her arm today from the bouncer....honestly was not impressed at all....crowd was good....but ive only been in OC since Wednesday and not really liking the establishments here.....local people are rude and act like theyre being bothered

4 drinks cost me $30, I told him to take a $2 trip & I was charged another $32 . Thats $62 for 4 drinks. They said it would go back to my account within 2 days👀👀👀 still not there yet..... never for me & my American legion family again...

Service was absolutely horrible. I strongly advise you NOT TO COME HERE. My friends and I were treated very poorly upon entry and my friend was denied entry because he had a military ID.

I waited and waited and even though I had placed my name before my friend she ended going first and my name wasnt even put on the list until I said something about it. There needs to be a better system for this. Disappointed

By process of elimination, there is a place on the planet that has to be considered the worst place. The Sandbar is that place. Between the homophobic/transphobic karaoke DJ, the creepy pictures of women in states of undress on the walls and the douchebag clientele, this place is like if date rape was a building.

$5 drinks. The emcee is the best! Really gets the party going. Great karaoke. Had a blast here.

I would give this bar 0 stars if I could. They wouldnt accept a green card, which is an official government issued ID as acceptable for entry. In reality they are racist and trashy. Avoid at all costs!

Great entertainment but seating is limited for the size crowd.
