I left the salon wanting to cry. I only get my nails professionally done once a year, I’m a busy mom and hardly have the time. A friend had mentioned this place which is why I decided to give it a try. I had a few inspirational photos of work that I would have liked to get done and when I showed them to the nail techs they said it couldn’t be done. Then I settled for an idea that was posted on their QQ Nails instagram page. Again, I was told it couldn’t be done, I didn’t understand why something that they claim is their work would be posted if it couldn’t be done at their salon. At this point, the nail tech had already started on my nail “extensions” which was another issue. My original nail was cut very short and then the extensions that I had paid extra money for were cut to the nail size that I originally had. I was upset because at this point, I should have just gotten a gel manicure instead of gel extensions. Gel manicure would have been cheaper. I was unhappy and didn’t want to cause a scene and my friends and I had traveled 60 minutes to get to this location, I also got a pedicure done. I was really trying to be positive. I settled for a plain white color at the end. The nail tech could tell how unhappy I was and still proceeded to say “wow, beautiful.” Now, Its been 4 days and already the gel is chipping. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t come back to this location. If you need a basic polish, then sure this is fine.
Stay away!! She cut multiple fingers cuticles making me bleed, then continued to aggressively rub alcohol and some other liquid into my nails to try get them to stop bleeding. I asked for almond shape which they charge extra $ for (obviously these are not almond). I also asked for French tips, which they charge $15 extra for (the ‘tips’ as you can see look thick and flat and terrible). I did not have time to ask to get them redone and frankly didn’t want to spend another second there. I explained my awful experience at checkout and they tried to offer 30% off which I declined. They tried to tell me there was only blood on one cuticle (as if that made it not as bad?) even when there was visibly blood on 3, and 5 total had been cut and were STINGING. Not to mention how terrible they look. After standing my ground they eventually offered 50% off and said that’s all they could do (I’m sorry what???) but I still feel the treatment itself, the way they handled the situation, and the fact they still made me pay $37 for this is absolutely pathetic. Not to mention the huge safety and health concerns of cutting me and potentially risking myself and other customers of infection or worse. Do not give them your business, run far away.
I had the pleasure of visiting QQ nail spa recently, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The salons ambiance was calming and inviting, creating a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The staff were not only friendly but also highly skilled and professional. They paid great attention to detail and ensured my nails looked impeccable. The range of services offered was impressive, and the hygiene standards were top-notch, which is crucial for me when choosing a salon. From basic manicures to intricate nail art, they catered to all preferences with finesse.Overall, my visit at QQ nail spa was delightful, and Ill definitely be returning for more pampering sessions. If youre looking for a place where you can unwind and leave with beautiful nails, I highly recommend checking them out!
I recently enjoyed a massage and pedicure at QQ Nails & Spa, located at 71 University Pl, New York, NY and I couldnt be more impressed. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and professional, creating a friendly atmosphere. The spas cleanliness stood out, maintaining a pristine environment that added to the overall relaxation. The massage and pedicure services were top-notch, with skilled therapists and technicians providing a rejuvenating experience tailored to my preferences. For a fantastic spa experience in New York City, QQ Nails & Spa is my go-to. I highly recommend it for their warm hospitality, cleanliness, and exceptional services.
I’ve been going to Gabby for 3 months now and she will be my nail tech for life, she is amazing, has saved my nails, before her I could never do dip or gell it was too damaging, however she is so delicate and meticulous with her work that my nails are in amazing shape and have no issue withstanding long term dip/gell use. She never uses the drill on my natural nails and only slightly buffs to hold the polish. Try her new natural UV gell, it’s amazing and lasts over a month!! Gabby is a rock star!!
I started going to this QQ location in February and I met my amazing technician Lupe! I have done dip, gel, and regular manicures with her and they always come out perfect! Every time I get gel with her it last up to 3 weeks with no chips! I have never had a technician that pays such close attention to detail! Lupe also does a fantastic job doing my eyebrows - I have fuller brow so it can be tricky finding someone who does not make them super thin! I also love this location because there are so many color options.
The best! I always leave happy and more than satisfied with my services. I once left my watch and ring here on accident and they saved it for me - a trustworthy salon for sure. I will never go anywhere else!
TLDR: Annie did a dip powder manicure that was great, coworker messed up repair two weeks later.I’m giving three stars because the original dip powder manicure I got with Annie was really well done! She was great. But today I went in because the polish on one of my fingers had began to lift, and I wasn’t going to get a fill at the 2 week mark, I like to wait until 3 at least. The lady who was going to fix it thoughtlessly cut my real nail short and I snatched my hand away - she thought they were tips! So now I have 9 real nails and one cheap extension. Originally she apologized and said she would do a gel extension, but disappeared after the soak off and sent someone else to glue on a tip. The girl who did that also did a mediocre job, the nail is lumpy and misshapen. I’m posting two photos, one of my good hand at the two week mark, nice manicure and still in tact. Then a photo of the finger they messed up so badly today.Overall the location is nice (I don’t know what’s downstairs), but it seems to be hit or miss with manicurists. Saving grace is that they didn’t charge me after they messed up the repair.
To the QQ Leadership:Please evaluate your employees at 71 University Ave. During my recent visit, I got to witness how the manager (Gabby) mistreated your employees. I wonder how she was being promoted as a manager and her attitude is not very professional. It seems she likes to judge based on how much money I spent on your shop.To potential consumers want to stop by:Please save your money and go somewhere else. Theres some ethical issue at this location. Just moved to NYC already, and discovered this place. I checked the reviews and it seems to be positive overall, but my experiences speaks differently. The customer service is not that good. Now, Im wondering if they provide incentives to those who wrote good reviews.
Lupes amazing skills and attention to details never fail to impress me. She is the sweetest person I’ve met! She always ensures my nails look flawless, making me a loyal client who would gladly recommend her services over and over again ❤️
Recently visit QQ and I love it!! I had a wonderful pedicure, I will definitely come back here. Thanks QQ team for making my experience lovely. Thanks Gabby for helping with my colors and for your kindness
Highly recommend Ms. Chen !! My favorite nail artist. Very patient and detailed oriented. I feel so blessed to have her !
This nail salon is honestly one the best there is in manhattan!! I regularly go to this spot with my girlfriend and she loves it as well. Great service, friendly staff, clean, just simply top notch. Definitely recommend it.
Not worst nail experience but up there. I originally booked a UV Gel Tip appointment and I’m not sure if it was a miscommunication or misrepresentation of services because upon arrival I was hastily put into a chair and waited 10-15 minutes for service and wasn’t told to pick out a color when I was finally attended to I showed what I wanted done and they told me that “with gel” they wouldn’t be able to do what I wanted and then handed be a color wheel of colors. Prior to this I expressed I wanted a light green (which they didn’t have) and was told they could only do dip on my nails (I’ve had dip before and I personally do not like it as it looks clumpy and makes my nails look thick rather than how sleek and flat UV gel tips are) I was under the assumption they would be able to do the chrome design I wanted on my dip nails but then was also told they couldn’t do it. The manicure itself was not very peaceful and it felt forced / my fingers and hand would often be flicked to the side. I’m just genuinely upset as I specifically booked an appointment for UV gel tips and they did not deliver on that nor the quality of the dip nails I was given. None of my nails are of the same shape or size as you can see in the photo the middle finger nail is much shorter
I visited tQQ Nails on University Pl for a 5:15 PM mani-pedi appointment and found the salon chaotic with no manager present. The owner, Nicole, was rude when I asked about my appointment, instructing me harshly to go to the lower lever after waiting for 9 minutes. Her communication was unclear leaving me confused. Her lack of professionalism and dismissive attitude soured the experience.
Their Gel X-extensions will sometimes last me a month! Not gonna lie, felt the urge to gate-keep haha but sharing to spread the long lasting mani love- My go-to in nyc!
The workers here are friendly and the space is clean + tidy. They have a wide selection of polishes for you to choose from and the service was great! Highly Recommend
Dropped in to remove a bad gel job (done somewhere else). Gabby took care of me and was very gentle! I’ll be back to get manicures done here - it’s a calming, clean and nice salon. Good selection of different kinds of polished that I’m interested in trying.
I went in for a polish change and was so happy with Gaby’s work. She is a perfectionist and made sure that my nails were well prepped for fresh polish so it would apply well and last. Her polish application is impeccable.QQ offers Dazzle Dry polish. It is so worth the extra cost - my polish lasted two weeks, beautifully and with no chips. If my nails hadn’t grown so fast, I might have been able to go even longer!
I lucked out and was able to walk in but I will definitely make an appt in the future. The women are extremely friendly and professional, and it definitely has the most extensive gel color options I’ve ever seen. The pedicure I got was thorough, and my manicure came out perfectly. Price is fair and better than most in the neighborhood. Will definitely come back.
This Nails salon is so beautiful and peaceful. The nail tech are skilled and gentle. Thanks manager Gaby for the help and service
Absolutely horrible. I’ve been coming to this company for a while now & I have never had these problems. I went to this location, the girl peeled the gel off of my toe nail causing it to break. I asked for a manager multiple times nobody came to assist or even listen to what was going on. This is before my birthday as well. I will never return here again. That was not the proper way to remove gel & it’s actually disappointing that I have to say that considering I am also apart of the beauty industry. I walked out of the salon didn’t even continue my service after sitting there for 40 minutes.
Came in here for a 10 min. massage, ended up staying for 15 and booking an hourlong one for next time. Chris is a miracle! I’ve had back pain and she knew exactly how to help. Thank you Chris!
I love this place. Its taken a while to find a good place for a manicure in the city, but I really think I found one. I get tips sometimes too, very smooth and thin so they look nice and natural.
Not many times to come here but not my 1st time. I got very good service every time but this time I was disappointed with Amandas Service. Not professional at all!
Best nail salon in Greenwich village! Nicole and the staff are always the best!
This place is terrible. I had a regular manicure, and decided to review while sitting In it. Now. The paint was so old that the woman could barely paint with it. Globs sitting on the skin and cuticle. It was a nightmare and when I finally asked for the manager to see it I could come back for a manicure done properly she told me I could redo it all now (red) or threw a 5 dollar, literally threw it in front of me. I said, I do not have time I have been waiting and sitting over an hour I have to wipe this off and it looks terrible. Of course I had already paid and left a nice tip. She was very rude. They had 4 opis in red, and it was SO OLD it was stringing and would not dry. Will not return, TERRIBLE. Save your money and go to spa blue a block away.
Great gel mani + 15% off first time
It bums me out to write a negative review but I’ve visited this location twice and it only gets worse. Waited 20 minutes to be seen for my appointment for pedicure, front desk had an attitude. My technician was really aggressive with the tools and she almost got a chunk of my toe with the cuticle remover, I did get cut, and was just a really unpleasant experience overall. To top it off the nail paint job wasn’t clean and started chipping since it was on my skin not only my toe nails after drying . I usually go to the 14th/5th location and have a great experience with them I guess I’ll stick to that one and warn everyone of how poorly run this one is.
Really bad service, went in for a uv gel fill in and tech did not know what she was doing. my nails then proceeded to basically all break within 5 days of getting it done and i didnt apply pressure to them or anything.
I’ve left maybe one bad review in my life but my experience at QQ today was frankly horrifying. I called ahead and made an appointment for “Acrylic Removal”. After waiting about 10 minutes, a woman started filing the acrylics extremely aggressively. She scraped my skin with the file and after I pointed it out said nothing. She also somehow did not realize I had extensions on because they were ACRYLICS and filed away at my natural nails to the point one completely split. After yelling for help from another woman, a different lady took over. They argued, then she preceded to file even more and then told me that my nails were very thin (which they weren’t; just ruined by the previous girl) and said that they weren’t able to take the nails off with acetone. Weirdly enough, they came right off when I soaked them in acetone at home using the same method… the second lady apologized and told me not to pay, as they couldn’t remove the extensions and my nails were ruined. Save your money. There are so many others salons in NYC that will not waste your time and ruin your nails!!
My friend recommended here after she went in for a manicure which did look good and stayed on for awhile. The price point was reasonable as I opted for both a manicure and pedicure. I also did a nail art on my hand nails and the technician did a good job.
Great! Definitely get the cat eye nails :)
Worst experience ever at this salon. I got a gel manicure and after less than 24 hours every single nail had not only chipped but but completely fallen off of my nail making it look like I never got a manicure in the first place. When I called to ask for a refund on my service due to the extremely poor quality of products used and work done, the woman I spoke to on the phone refused and then hung up on me. Do not go here.
Great experience as always! Nicole and the rest of the team were so sweet and helpful ❤️
My girlfriend and I had a good time getting our nails done at QQ Nails & Spa. The place was clean, the atmosphere relaxed and the staff were attentive and gentle. Liked how my nails were looking when they were done.
Space was clean, however I had a really disappointing pedicure. It was so rushed, and the polish came out quite poorly. Barely feel like the service was complete
Rita gave me the worst gel manicure I have ever received. My cuticles were cut extremely deep, my nails were not shaped and the polish was not evenly applied. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon.
I was drawn by the clean environment and nice ambiance that suited what I needed when getting my nails done. I liked the array of colours they had available and the assistance I received in making a choice.
Love my nails! Thank you
Good manicure, staff are nice and friendly, clean environment
Irene was so nice and did her very best work executing the design on my nails!
Everyone was super friendly and did a great job! Got a powder manicure and an awesome chair massage.
I made an appointment and showed up exactly on time and was told I would have to wait 10 or 15 minutes. I asked the woman at the desk what was the point of making an appointment and she actually sighed and said “ I don’t know “. Miss Bare Luxury. This is a pathetic business and a sad replacement. Will not be returning.
Terrible client service. Booked on ClassPass and canceled my appointment an hour before my scheduled manicure due to “other appointments”. I would never go back.
That was the best my nails have been made as far as am concerned. I will definitely come back for a massage and facial treatment in the near future.
Great Service! My downtown go to.
I had made an appointment for a facial a week ahead and was glad I did as I was attended to promptly. Liked the general cleanliness of the place and the ambiance.
Excellent customer service, very friendly
Was traveling from out of state and desperately needed to get my acrylic nails removed - glad they were able to help!!
Worst nail place ever. Avoid at all cost.
Awesome service! Y’all should keep it up! ZThe professionalism is to die for! Go QQ NAIL & SPA! I’m definitely coming back!
Great experience!!!I would come back
David does an amazing massage - so relaxing!
Great gel manicure and pedicure!
Wasted money... careless manicure that lasted not even a day :(
$45 for a dip powder manicure and it started chipping in less than a week.
Polish not evenly applied and shaping is so poor. No where near worth the price
The first time I visit it and I was delighted. Both with the nails and with the service
Excellent staff, reasonable pricing, good ambiance, plenty of seats. Definitely recommend!
QQ continues to be my favorite across the city! Beautiful job and service!
The insiders’ spot for the longest lasting manicure in town
All around great place.
Great relaxing experience
CiCi is the best!
