SOB’s is a legendary venue that has performances of a wide variety of musical tastes. The drinks were great, had the wings, which were surprisingly, very good. The DMX tribute was excellent! The DJ, the performances, and most of all the vibe was perfect. You will never go wrong, stopping by to hear your favorite artist perform.
I Attended SOB to see The Hoodies! The performance was an unforgettable experience—I was blown away by their legendary performance! However, my excitement was dampened by the venues policy regarding table reservations.Upon arrival, I was informed that in order to secure a table, I would need to purchase two drinks per person. While this was mentioned, what wasnt disclosed upfront was the requirement to also order food. This left me feeling caught off guard when I found a food menu on the table upon seating. To add to the disappointment, the drinks were priced at $25 each, and while they were just sangrias, the inability to cancel the order was frustrating. Additionally, the lack of availability of wait staff made it challenging to seek assistance. While the performance itself was spectacular, the venues policies and lack of transparency regarding table reservations left much to be desired. As a result, next time I’ll stand or ask more questions.
I went there for a release party of a new album.. The vibe is good, Nice atmosphere, The band was great, they had table where you are able to eat and drink. I didnt sit at a table but mostly stood near the bar and in front of the stage so I can see the performance. 😊
SOBs is amazing. I’ve seen a number of legendary general admission performances in this venue over the years. The small space provides an intimate and up close experience for all attendees. Drinks are less than a lot of other venues I’ve visited in the area.Hope to see more great hip hop performances here is the future.Hope
Great venue! Was just there for their K-EDM event they tend to do there from time to time for the first time. It was so much fun! Will go again next time they do one.
I will NEVER return to this establishment and I suggest you don’t as well. They serve alcohol and refuse to offer free TAP WATER. A bartender literally “told” the Manager on me because I thought it was absurd that after spending well over $100 in drinks I couldn’t get a free cup of tap water. The $5 price tag wasn’t the issue, the issue lies squarely with the staff being so abrasive and their lack of empathy. I literally got anxiety from the thought that if something was to happen to my friends or I they wouldn’t even offer us WATER.
I went here for a Grammy viewing party. Not to bring up race... but the white host/promoter told us there were no more tables available. We went to the bar to order food and drinks. The Black bartender literally left the bar and got us a table and two chairs. He placed us in a very comfortable spot and made us feel valued and respected! Our white waiter was polite but inattentive. By the time he came back to ask if we wanted anything else the kitchen was closed! I do wish that the automatic 18% gratuity went to the bartender. He went above and beyond to make sure two Black women were accommodated.Ill only come here for music events, I wont dine here again unless I am sure of who is hosting. The coconut shrimp was good. White sangria wasnt worth $20. Overall a very mediocre experience for the $128 spent.
Lyn lapid was great, her vocals were amazing and I enjoyed the concert.that being said, the actual venue is far than ideal. the smell of cigarettes and alcohol truly felt suffocating, but I could understand that as the ventilation probably isn’t the greatest, and there’s nothing SOB can do about that. which is fine.however, the workers were constantly flashing their cellphone lights to get through, and I’m trying my best to understand their point of view because maybe they’re told by management to go back and forth in order to complete their shift tasks. but it definitely took away from the whole experience as they cut through the crowd almost the entire time.lastly, I’ve only been to one other concert, so this may just be the case across the board, but the speakers were so insanely loud. It was equivalent to a rock concert, averaging 90-100db. I value my hearing, so I unfortunately left due to the unbearable sound mixing, which is a bummer because lyn was really great. I’m not sure if the sound guy is from the musicians or the establishment though, so there’s that.overall, I’d rank this place a 1.5/5 but since everyone either reads 1/5 or 5/5 reviews, I’m unfortunately rounding it down. maybe it’s not that deep, but it was my brother’s first concert and it really sucked because he thought it was too loud in there as well.
SCAMMERS!! First time going to an event there on july 3rd 2024..Had a ticket from EVENTBRITE to get in for free before 11:30 pm, got there at 10:30pm only for the dudes at the door to start letting people in at 11:23pm just so that they can charge all men $30 at the door..I had the money too, but I didnt even wanna partake and left because i felt disrespected...If you wanna charge men, dont mislead by having them waste their time traveling from new jersey just to be scammed into paying to get in...HORRIBLE
So yesterday I went to an event there I ordered. Bbq chicken. The food had hair in the chicken and the chicken was very cold. I don’t think the food was fully cooked there. Everything there is just rushed. I dont recommend to eat at This place.
This place is historic, timeless and ALWAYS a good time! So many famous people have performed here I cant even count. I have been going to SOBS since I was in my 20s. I will be 60 soon and I was just there a few weekends ago for the DJ battle and danced the night away. Love this place! Spectacular!
Came all the way from atlanta with my cousins to check out this clubs party on july 3rd 2024 with a ticket to get in for free before 11:30pm and they didnt start letting people in until like 11:25pm...That wasnt cool at all, I dont recommend this club for anyone traveling from out of state, they dont care about being good hosts, they only care about money
Two DJs on 2 very different occasions (bollywood and y2k) played the most boring music on both. The whole crowd was mostly just standing around. And everyone seemed to have sobered up from mind-numbing boredom. The bartender had the biggest attitude when asked for water. Clubs much smaller than this have more bathrooms. And they trick you into paying at the entrance after advertising their event as free.
If your a female, your good..But if your a male, dont even bother coming with a ticket to get in for free...they hold up the line until most men have to pay at the door..STRAIGHT UP MONEY GRAB
Bouncers will try to make you pay extra. Bad staff and management. Lighting and overall experience was decent.
Bollywood night was absolutely fantastic. But the bartender next to the bathroom is unbelievably rude. Was berating patrons who were asking for water instead of alcoholic drinks.
I went to the Bollywood New Years Eve (Desi Saturdays) & very disappointed. One, I wasnt able to get a refund on a ticket that my friend couldnt use because she was exposed to Covid (that should be a clear-cut refund)!!Two, they had a lot of old Indian music and too much of non Indian music, not what I paid for!!SOBs is a great place other than this event. Ive been there over the years many times & this Desi party was not one that was organized as advertised.
Do not go here! It’s not a safe place for women. I was there to see my friend perform with his band. We had placed our coats on a chair behind us. Twenty minutes later we realized all of our coats were gone. After finding the manager, we were told they might have been brought down to coat check for security reasons. This is bizarre because no one tapped us and said, “Hey! You can’t leave your coats here!” Or “You actually need check your coats!” The fact that an employee of the venue would find it appropriate to lead customers guessing about where there items were taken is insane. When we went downstairs to find our coats, we were extorted!! We were told we could only have our coats back if we paid a coat check fee in cash only. I explained I had no cash and that my apartment keys were in my coat pocket. The manager told me he didn’t care and that “no cash, no coat!” I then explained that if we had been told coat check was mandatory we would have gladly gone to get cash before entering (or left our coats with our friend and his band equipment). The manager said to me, “You should be thanking us. If it weren’t for me, your coat could be in NJ by now.” I said, “Forgive me, but I don’t feel like I should be thanking you.” He said, “Do you leave your coats lying around when you go to your friend’s house?” “I said, well no, but they give me a free place to hang it up so this isn’t a great comparison.” He repeated, “No cash, no coats!” and then told me I could Venmo him personally because that the only way I wasn’t going to be sleeping on the street.
Ive seen a few shows here, and have enjoyed myself each time. The shows started late every time, but Im not sure if that was more the performers doing than the venue. The staff has been friendly and the vibe nice. The food is delicious and comes in large portions, and the drinks are pretty good too. I will definitely see more shows here.
As classic as it is, its a very average venue with a very average sound system (or a very mediocre sound check process). Totally enjoyable, we saw a great gig there, but definitely not a world class venue. Also, guys, sort your playlist out for between artist sets. To go and see a fairly underground artist and be blasted with awful pop between acts/as a warm up is just irritating.
Came here to see some friends DJ, they were playing an incredible set but the venue staff is awful and really ruined my experience. Bartenders were not paying attention to who was at the bar and were ignoring customers. If you had a jacket and were holding it, the staff would shine a flashlight in your face. I left my jacket under the table for a few minutes to dance without holding it and staff came and picked up my jacket without permission. I grabbed it back and told them not to touch my stuff and then manager yelled at me with a flashlight in my face. Left after that. Sucky people ruin venues.
Depending on what Promoter who is giving the event and music or Artist that may playing that day ( Im usually there). Its been around for years.Nice space for dancing and getting your fun in.I normally hang out to try out different scenes/Djs and events when possible.1 Train to (Houston) SEast entrance brings me closest.Safe spaces/Venues and surroundings have me return often when I can.Still in these trying times...Let continue to strive for Peace ( Universally)!!!!!
The Raekwon show was fire and great host. I was a vendor there and the whole crew was great
Went there mostly on Saturday nights since there is Bollywood party, the space is a bit small and you will find a lot of Indians if thats what you looking for, and also 100% Hindi, Bollywood music. The place gets pretty crowded, the dj’s are really good, you will definitely have fun there. The music is a bit loud loud. And drinks are expensive 😅 but i guess thats the case with all clubs so!!In short you will enjoy if u like Bollywood music. ;)Location: it is located near Christopher street, path is 9mins walk and metro is also close. So there is easy transportation access.
They said the event started at 10 but didn’t start letting us in until 10:30, then started charging us $20 even though we had tickets since at missed the “10:30” deadline
Dj is good they should more punjabi music it will put more energy in people
I’m laughing at some of the lower rated reviews from the Bollywood party. One person actually complained about her preference of # of Bollywood songs vs today’s hits and they are the type to complain about how much sand there is at a beach.I like SOB’s because they actually follow the health and safety protocols properly and feel safe to party there. They aren’t a hole in the wall and also not a mega club, nice size in between. They are also relaxed on dress code as long as you don’t look like a slob. The drinks are normal club prices and not a suburb local pub, welcome to nyc. Promoters do their best for everyone to be safe and have a good time. The SOB staff does a great job keeping everyone safe.
Loved the setting service was on point and staff was very responsive. Loved the food.
My brother HanzOn had his record release party at S.O.Bs, hosted by Method Man and appearances by Wu Clan member Cappadona. It was a packed event. Just didnt appreciate not being able to bring certain gifts for the artist into the venue, although it was later explained and understood. Just spent a lot of money on Champagne that we couldnt enjoy together.
DONT GO TO THIS CLUB!! THEY GIVE OUT TICKETS FOR MEN TO GET IN FOR FREE BEFORE 11:30PM JUST TO HOLD UP THE LINE 5 MINUTES BEFORE 11:30 THEN CHARGE $30!!
Worst night club ever!!!! . I wish I could give no stars to atmosphere. No ambience, no place to sit . Owner has not spend anything on its interior . Just the music and few disco lights , that’s it . It was very disappointing as we enter the room and noticed that it is overcrowded then it’s capacity. Very cheap crowd. We came out in just 30 minutes.Highly not recommended place . Wastage of money and wastage of time .Bar was very disappointing, they don’t have menu 🤣. Instead of going there , you better spend your time with friends at New York streets or at your hotel room or some better place .
All I can say is WOW! My experience was excellent. I was blessed to see the incredible Blast Master KRS ONE and SOBs anniversary of 40 years doing what they do best and was completely thrilled at my experience there. Great food live entertainment and djs and the starting point for some of the most famous and prolific rappers in New York. Located in SoHo in lower Manhattan is a must go to place for one of the best places for entertainment and food.
Great sound and lighting system for live music.
We did not have a good time. Too many rules and not friendly staff. Bad DJ and not enough space to dance.
Cute theme nights. Gets a little crowded and the bartenders are kinda slow but the music is good and crowded is always fun
It was cool. Very smooth venue size. Lets connect: Search Lord of Emotion all over the internet
Just saw rising star Danielle Ponder there and it was a grand experience. We arrived early and secured a table with a great view. The place was clean, spacious, elegant with a great sound system. Our server worked hard and efficiently handled our food and drink needs. I’m not sure if it’s a temporary thing but the menu choices were stripped down to main course appetizers. They were all well prepared with nice portions but I hope in the future they include some real entrees.Otherwise we will be back again. Stellar Evening for us!
The worst run club in NYC. Went to see a great band, paid $25 to get in, the place was empty. Then they aggressively kick you out before the next band starts and there were 3 people waiting in line to get in. Like why wouldn’t you want people to stay? Don’t you want your customers to drink and watch the next band? Have some ppl there so it doesn’t look empty? Ridiculous. Everyone working there are rude and miserable. Used to be a great club, no more. Horrible. Never going back.
I love music. Came here to check out some SA Hip Hop. On top of overcharging in cash from the advertised price at the door and not taking credit card they charged $7 for water. How are you going to be a designated driver when a margarita is $1 more? Now I remember why its been 10 years since I last visited.
Attended a Rhythm Revue event last night and was very disappointed with the HASSELING of the supposed manager. He was bothering us about OUR coats(2) being placed under the table we were standing around. People had coats hanging off of chairs and on top of other tables everywhere. He came over to us 3 times, until we took our coats to the coat check downstairs.Someone with difficulty navigating the steep, narrow staircase shouldldnt be forced to go to the coat check. I told him the reason I wanted to keep my little jacket was to go outside, he said then put it on.Asides from never opening the doors @ 6pm when the event starts, his harassment for NO GOOD reason last night was so wrong! He also threatened to kick-out my friend after he bumped into her, he said he said excuse me and she told him she didnt hear him. Is that a reason to threaten a woman or anyone?I gave 2 stars because Felix Hernandezs parties draw a mature crowd & I like to support him, and have been for years. The Bar staff is so friendly and professional. This so-called manager needs to check himself. Stay home if you are having a bad day.
Tldr: Not sure about other nights, but avoid Bollywood night.I went there because of the hype, because my friends wouldnt shut up about it. Entry fee 30$. Now I and my friends wouldnt go here if it were free. The one thing this bar does good is create hype.Sometime during the night, they will call all the ladies towards the stage. Then they make a reel out of it. Upload on Insta to create the hype. But in real its not at all like that. Its very crowded. That created so much heat inside, everyone was sweating. I havent felt that in any other bar in NYC.Songs could be better too. From now on, as soon as I see bollywood party, I am gonna sleep that. Its a cash grab.Another bad thing, they charge more to guys than girls, reminded me of the place I came from. The cheap tricks.
Like others, I came here for a Desi Saturday Night recently. The event itself is pretty fun; good music with a pretty ok DJ. Hes only ok because he will take a portion of time to rally all the women in the club to the front for their social media. I get it but it totally killed the vibe. It can definitely get packed pretty quickly depending on the event but the night I attended, I felt like there was enough space to shuffle around. This of course depends on the night. However, as with many clubs out there, they are a lot more negatives than they are positives that are hard to look past. To start off, definitely read the rules before you come. While enforcement of the dress code was pretty spotty, to be honest, it will be up to the bouncers discretion. If you are the unlucky one to get called out by the bouncer, be prepared to pay a hefty toll at the door which happened to be paying the price of admission again the night I was there. So in other words, if you were a dude that paid $40 to get attend the event and didnt follow the rules, you will pay another $40 to get in. Also, once youre in the venue you cant leave or else you will not be allowed to come back in. No reentry until 1am.Coat check is mandatory and is CASH ONLY with NO ATM, NO VENMO, ETC handy downstairs near the coat check room make sure youre ready before you stand in line because the line will most certainly be VERY long. The two coat check employees were heroes of the night because expect to deal with incompetent drunken patrons causing delays.Outside of those two employees, the service was pretty disappointing overall.Drinks are overpriced (about $17-$20 per drink) prepped by disinterested bartenders not caring about how they are making the drink. Itll be a toss-up between ok and complete trash. ALL checks have a mandatory 18% gratuity included so heads up before you end up being broke.
This place is amazing 🤩 and really really fun.. it had the best vibe and you can have lots of fun.. great selection of music.2 stars are because1. The floors are constantly wet from people spilling their drinks..I slipped and injured myself. Then the unexpected happened where we were asked to leave the club which made no sense.. we were a group of girls …2. The male to female ratio is a bit bizarre.. it’s like a 40% (female) vs 60%men) ratio..
I enjoy SOBs. The past few times I’ve went I had a great time. The staff were nice, and there was a good vibe and DJ. The Long Islands hit, and drake night was a vibe.
Not entirely impressed with this venue. I came here mainly for the music, and did not get food or a beverage. The sound quality was below average and the bands repeatedly had to ask the sound guy to make changes. That said, SOBs is very clean and has a very nice interior look, and makes for a very personal show.
From OH: Went for music event. The seating is tight and unmanageable; someone has to move for You to move. The service was slow and twice they tried to bring things I didnt order (trick, disorganized). The drink was large and refreshing. The empanadas were just that,.. nadas. No flavor, wrong cheese, mostly hollow. This environment is smooth and highly engaging and everyone wants to have a great time. I dressed-t-i, but u can def come casual if u like. Uber is easy and affordable to this place. Come out to SOBs and enjoy your favorite artists, but eat before you get here or after you leave. Thanks
I came here with a group of friends last night. I had two drinks. A vodka soda and a slushy margarita. I felt weirdly drunk and I’m not a lightweight. I went home early and spent the entire night puking. My stomach was also giving me issues. This also happened to my female friend who had a slushy margarita. There’s definitely something in that drink that caused that. Maybe too much Everclear? I’m writing this to alert the management as I really don’t want this happening to other people.
The music was bad and the drinks are overpriced. 6 dollars just for a coat check. Wont be back unless a major celebrity is performing
I have been to SOB’s for Desi Saturdays a couple of times but I had the worst bartender experience this weekend than any other place I have ever been to. I had kindly asked a particular bartender for a cup of water for my friend who very clearly needed it as she was feeling sick, and we received the worst attitude from the bartender. On 3 separate occasions he was asked, first giving us a very rude and dirty look and IGNORING us. We waited for 15 minutes thinking he may have not heard us or had to serve buyers first. Again, someone else who was purchasing drinks had asked for us as well since they saw the treatment he had given us the first time around and he also gave them a horrible look and ignored them, while giving no answer and STILL not giving us a cup of water. I tried for a third time nicely again, and he gave us an extreme amount of attitude while ignoring us without saying a word, and applying chapstick in our faces to show he did not care for our requests. All he could have done was say no or that they did not have, his behavior was very unnecessary. I encountered a second interaction the same night at the other bar across the room, one of my friends was pushed and his drink had fallen. Being it brand new, we hoped he could get a new one somehow as he did not get a sip out of the drink he paid for. We had tried speaking to multiple bartenders there to see what we could do, and all we got were laughs in our faces as if what we had said something extremely dumb or a joke. They could have at least had the courtesy to say no or that it was not possible, but instead decided to make a huge joke out of it in front of our faces with the other staff members. I was extremely bothered by these interactions and would not recommend anyone going here due to the disrespectful staff that is working the Desi Saturdays. I am very disappointed in the event planners because for such a big show that is put on every Saturday, the staff’s behavior is very poor. There are other Bollywood events to attend in the city that I would rather attend because there you are at least treated with respect and as a person.
Always exciting events....a must attend event....Reggae Karaoke
Service has always been poor, and so was it last weekend. Waiters are not properly trained. It does feel like they dont value or pay attention to their customers. Music can be great, but the club should not get a free ride thanks to the band and not make an effort on customer service.
They “invite” their musicians to come play and force them to sell a minimum amount of tickets. Then they take the majority of those ticket sales. So basically they are getting not only free labor, but lucrative labor. I’d suggest anywhere else. Arlene’s Grocery, The Bowery Electric, 3 Dollar Bill (these are all cool clubs that don’t have shady reviews).
I attended the RollingWeen event on 10/30 and sadly, I will never patronize this establishment again. While waiting to enter the doorway, a guy pushed past me aggressively to get into the venue and was very disrespectful. I brought it to the security guards attention as he was standing right there and witnessed the incident and he responded what do you want me to do? Hes the promoter. I was shocked by his response because I was under the assumption that he was there to protect everyones safety and not blindly ignore a woman being damn near assaulted. This was very disappointing & while the promoter did later find me and apologize, his conduct was unacceptable and the security guard should of intervened regardless of who he was.
I came here on a Friday night for a live salsa concert, and it was a really enjoyable experience. My review will only be focused on the place and the dance floor bar. The venue is big, with a good music quality. I like that this place has an actual dance floor, which is more catered to the type of ballroom dance music played here. If you feel like doing something out of the ordinary for a night, come here and enjoy your time.
Desi Saturday’s are funn, especially if DJ bollyboom is playing. One of the best DJs of SOBs
Went in for a Bollywood. It definitely did not live up to my expectations. Had a super hard time getting in past the rude and unreasonable requirements by the bouncers. The hype of the dress code was an absolute joke. Seen people coming in causal wear. Literally robbed us with the high priced drinks, a small water bottle for $5. The place was so packed, we literally had to dance by the entrance. Barely any room to even walk around. Would recommend not having cocky bouncers and overpriced drinks
Awesome little spot with great music playing. From the outside it doesnt look like a nice place, but after walking in the ambiance changes. The entry fee is cash only so be aware. I went there on a Friday night, and it was Latin night. The acoustic of the room is nice and there is plenty of space to dance. It wasnt packed at all which was good since Im not really a fan of big crowds. I was able to dance without bumping in to anyone. The bar was fully stocked but with a $30 card minimum I was not happy. In the future I will be bringing cash.
No respectable venue refuses to give customers — customers who have to pay obscene amounts for drinks — water. this happened to me, and if a zero star rating was possible, i’d happily give it.
I was so disappointed with the way SOB looked today, or maybe Im too old for SOB. The inside looked like a dark street corner. SOB was a very nice place to be at one time, damn, what happened. Ill come back in 2025 looking for change. Somewhere I can bring a lady to.Fix it guys, change.
Such a legendary venue with amazing music shows and parties. Staff there are always helpful and the crowd is always a vibe.
My memories of SOBs were pretty good. I’ve attended many concerts and the samba brunch they used to host. This visit (4/15/22) was very disappointing. I went to see one of my favorite bands “Los Hacheros”, who are fantastic. However, SOBs falsely advertised the entrance fee as $15 at the door; they then charged $20 and the host claimed to know nothing about the $15 advertised ticket. Also, I called several times and e-mailed them to get the show time; but no one ever responded. When we got a table, the waiter brought us a food menu, which was ok. We also asked for a cocktail menu, which was not available. She seemed confused, asked for a minute, and came back to read off her tablet the names of random cocktails. When we asked what was in them, she said she did not know. Played it safe and got a Prosecco and a beer; waiter came back to inform us the Prosecco was not cold yet; got a Pinot Grigio. It’s a shame, place used to be good; doubt I’ll be coming back anytime soon.*Response to owner:Based on my experience last night, I was not surprised by your response to my factual and constructive critique. To be clear, like others, I did have a great time.. because the band is great , and in spite of your venue.
Good accoustics, nice spot, nice staff - The concert was a bit short, but thats to be expected from rappers nowadays. One slight problem, maybe just because Im french : the place is extremely inconvenient for smokers... no outside smoking area in the venue, each time you go outside the door to smoke you have to go through the bouncers search again and present your ticket again.Other than those little logistics questions, for a Manhattan venue the prices are decent and the sound is good. Yes, theres a card payment limit, but then maybe just hit an ATM before entering, it aint hard.
Mediocre service that is borderline unsanitary. Literally just watched a bartender redo her long haired ponytail at the bar whilst in the middle of making drinks and she didn’t wash her hands. Servers grabbing and serving drinks by the rim of the glass… just no…I also watched 4 bartenders scurry behind the bar to make drinks for the floor (tables) without acknowledging anyone standing at the bar. So I finally just said can I have a water .. and the bartender delegated it to someone else who poured it with no ice.. and didn’t ask if I want ice or not… smh.. subpar.. glad I’m not eating here
Wouldnt come back. I came to an event that was originally supposed to seat 300. I received an email from the event organizer that the venue provided misinformation: it can fit 300 people, but about 120 of those people will have to stand. Then! We get to the event, and everyone who is sitting, including those who paid extra for VIP/early access, has to spend a minimum of $25 each in order to remain seated. Otherwise, and I quote the waitress, Youre welcome to stand by the bar because there are people who are standing that are willing to pay that much. Wth? I mean, with a mandatory 18% gratuity, why wouldnt she be rude? Super tacky.*I read the business response. I still think its tacky, from management to the waitress. I wont be returning.
I always enjoy attending Eric Robersons performances. The drinks & food were good also.
Friday nights are great. Get there before 7pm and admission is free. Salsa class at 7pm - Ive taken it several times and it is different and fun ever time. Great energy and great people who love to dance! Happy hour has great deals too (:
The desi Bollywood night is on Saturdays and it’s damn expensive and not worth it if guys r alone… also drinks r crazy expensive $15 per shot huff finish ur pay checks here.. guys get drunk at home n dance here… also the songs r repeated all the time
Ive been here twice and enjoyed both times. The drinks were a little overpriced, especially considering how tall some drinks should be and what I actually received. In either case, I loved the talent I came to see and would go again if he ever decided to come back.
This has nothing to with SOB’s, but the Indian night that happens on every Saturday. There were couple of North Indian bullies, who slapped on the back of my head noticing I was by myself. When I turned back and asked who did that, they started acting like kids. The slap was not hard and I didn’t want to screw someone’s life, so I ignored and was upset whole night. It’s like I paid $50 to insult myself. If you are going by yourself, just watchout for yourself. It’s a disgrace that a day has come to post such review in a whole different country where we all come for better education and life style.
I have yet to get there but attending tonight (11/20/19) to see my son perform. I have been trying to call for the past three days, leaving messages etc to no avail. The outgoing messages are giving you information about days back in May ??? wanted info as to what time the doors open and if we could reserve a table, as we have a lot of out of town guests coming to support and obviously it means nothing to them to accommodate you with some professionalism to at least respond. I myself had surgery and cant stand long - I hope I at the very minimum enjoy this evening smh
Ive been coming here for years. This is such a cool intimate spot for concerts and the food isnt bad either. I treated myself to see Adrian Marcel and the show was OUTSTANDING!!! So were the other performers especially Jane Handcock. This is an up close and personal spot so if your favorite artist is in town DEFINITELY check them out here.
Brunch here is very good. $31 gets you a three course meal along with a all you can drink brunch. The service here was great. I had both the red and the white sangria and loved both. My glass was never empty. I really enjoyed the food. While we ate there was a band playing with just added to the great atmosphere. Great for large groups or a date night.
I dont care how legendary this place is supposed to be, the staff was rude and disrespectful! Went to see a performance and they (sound guy) were disrespectful to the artist IN FRONT OF THE PATRONS. These artist will go on to make a name for themselves and I hope they never play this venue again. The prices for their drinks are way overpriced for what you get. If I hadnt been waiting for a month to see Mike, Niontay and side show perform I wouldve left early. Word of advice for the staff - you just WORK at the nightclub, no one came to see you- RELAX..
I’ve been here once for a Latin dance party. They serve drinks in single-use plastic cups. Incredibly wasteful and irresponsible practice for a nightclub, not to mention tacky. Invest in sustainable drinkware.
Visited for Bollywood night, Amazing vibe ,it was a bit slow with less people in the beginning and DJ was playing Punjabi and some unknown songs until they have enough crowd.
What a great night of food and entertainment! The boyfriend and I used a LivingSocial deal to make reservations for a Samba-themed night. We were seated at a table right next to the dance floor and the waitress was very attentive in making sure the various parts of our our was taken care of. I was afraid that we would be rushed to finish so that they could seat another couple for dinner, but we were welcomed to stay as long as we wanted; we stayed for 4 hours between eating and dancing. The food was average, though the fish cooked and wrapped in a banana leaf was a nice touch. The samba band was good, though it was weird that the DJ played top 40 songs when they went on break. There was supposed to be a free samba lesson advertised in their flyer, but that never happened and restaurant staff couldnt given me a straight answer. All in all a very enjoyable night. The whole package wouldve been pricey had we not used a deal, but it was well worth what we ended up spending.
I went there Saturday night with friends and its 20.00 if you come in after midnight. Very reasonable for a place with top bands like Kes who played, A Top MC Dahved Levy (I love this funny man) and a super fine DJ who brought you music from all the Caribbean islands as well as Africa, the Latin countries and the US. Its a mix crowd.I would definitely be back, as this place is fab with super hot looking people who know how to party.
This is definitely a happy hour bar and often smells like stale beer when you pass by. The beats are fun, its a place to start the evening before you head somewhere else. I have to admit I havent tried the food yet but the drinks were not that great. Ill give it a second chance when Im in the area to try the menu and maybe amend my review.
As the night grew the club became packed! More packed than covid regulations would allow I would say. The club itself is not that spacious and drinks are tad overpriced. I kept going outside to cool down as it became too hot in there. I went for Desi Saturday.
Wish I could give ZERO stars. The bollywood night is trash. Its a conjusted place with cheap lightings. Also, dont bother to buy tickets as they will still make you stand for about an hour in the line to enter. On top of that, if you need a STAG entry, dont worry just be ready to loosen you pockets, pay them extra bucks and they will allow you.Selling the tickets in BLACK, as a saying in India.
Me and my girlfriend had a good time we went to go see a youtuber named Domo who performed there Friday night and they had other people performing as well everybody was pretty good my one thing is the bars overpriced and the Bartenders are not very nice, Plus he saw that set my card out miss fielding say anything that there was a $24 limit and we only ordered 2 drinks it came out to $22.Other than that great spot to come to with your friends and watch some people put form or get a snack or 2
I paid $60 for a meet and greet ticket and there never was a meet and greet. They booked two shows in one night and cut off the biggest performance because they ran out of time...the sound guy was messing up a lot and cutting off mics or just not able to keep the volumes consistent. Horrible experience.
My college professor Ted Goldstein took me and some of his other students there after graduation from Monroe College. I simply loved everything about S.O.B.S. I mean everything!. The music, the food the ambiance. Thank you Ted for being such a great teacher. I learned so much in your class from you. Ill never forget that special day❤or you. Brenda
Such a cheap place. There’s no limitation of people in the club. Such an bad odor inside the club. People pushing each other. I would not recommend anyone to go there. Such a waste of money and time. Didn’t even enjoyed for a minute. Worst experience of club.
I have reservation and not let Me to seat a lot of table was open very not welcome restaurant
I just went this place and they said couples only tickets but few guys got in no problem. I am just a tourist anyway. I do security job in clubs and I guess this is how it works here. Customer service should n could be better.
Use to be a great place to be, a pretty nice place LONG TIME AGO!!!! NOW ......... DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, PICK A DIFFERENT PLACE to go, ITS TRASHY, overly crowded TOO LOUD!!!!!!!!!! Well, I like classy places, this is certainly NOT!!!!!!!!!! BUNCH RUDE WORKERS!!!!!!!!!!!! DRINKS ARE GARBAGE. Not good DJ EITHER. TO BAD, BUT THE TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had my first experience with the venue this past weekend and we were told the headliners couldnt make it well after they were supposed to be on stage. I reached out to the venue requesting a refund for the two tickets I purchased as a result and the event staff processed my refund almost immediately and apologized for the inconvenience. Having worked for two major music venues in NY, I know that level of customer service is hard to find and I will most definitely be returning as a result! I was initially impressed by the sound quality and general layout of the space and even more so by the response of the venue staff.
Brunch Review- on Sundays they have a Bossa Nova brunch with a live band who sound great. And yes, there is a dance area. For $31 you very a 3 course menu with unlimited sangria. Our waiter was on point with the refills. Food was tasty. Wld recommend this brunch for a date or groups.
The sound was great and the show was very intimate last night. However, my first time experience was hindered due to the extremely rude service of the security guards. I will not be coming back to a place that treats their patrons disrespectfully.
I am here in SOBS celebrating New Years eve. The admission was267 dollars per person. I have a friend with me.The food is lousy..2 pieces of chicken with a spoon of uncooked cold rice was served. . This is direspectful. Music was too loud. That is a rip off for267 dollars.. 2 bottles of cheap champagne was placed on my table. That is a nightmare.
I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Food: Excellent! My favorites here are: Coconut shrimp and the NY Shell Steak.Drinks: Good. Depending on the nights you go.***Space: This is an old school music venue, club, restaurant and bar. It has some really amazing performances featuring Brazilian, Latino, Reggae, Funk, Bhangara, and Jazz. It has a small bar that opens up into the large dance floor and dining area. Great place to bring a date, impress your significant other, catch a live show, dance, or grab drinks with co-workers or friends. The performances are outstanding. You will have a great time during the show. They offer Happy hours with dance lessons some nights. ***The drinks are very watered down during those nights.Scene: Romantic. Date night. Get-togethers. Happy Hour. Singles Scene. Club. Live Performances.Service: Only Ok. Dont want to give them poor because they are courteous, but very slow.
Went for the club scene. Venue is sort of small but if youre a fan of Caribbean music, this place will have you dancing all night. Would give it 5 stars for music and vibe but management purposely makes you wait out in line so that more people end up having to pay rather than allow those who get there early in for free. Its really annoying when you walk in after waiting in line forever just to see 2 people inside the club. Like really? Have me freezing and standing in heels outside for no reason. Otherwise I had fun once inside and heard the music.
This is a legendary concert venue in downtown manhattan. Theyve been around for 30+ years. Your mom probably went there to see a show lol. I think this is an ideal layout for a small club / venue, I think every time Ive been here I dont notice the venue at all, its all about the performers, DJs and crowd. Thats how it should be... Last two times Ive been was for Caribbean night. Its the best. Highly recommended.
Very dissatisfied with the way they treated the public tonight. We paid for entry into the Dominican Sounds event and the SOBs sound techs abruptly cut the end of the show before the last (and main) artist had finished his set-list. The excuse was that there was a second show to start at 12:30am. I can live with that. But there were better ways to communicate that to the public without saying Dont even think about playing another one. It was rude and careless way to treat concertgoers. You can even announce a a 4 minute grace period. Simply an unacceptable way to treat your paying customers. Very disappointed in the SOBs staff which I held in high regard from a previous visit.
Had a horrible Bollywood night experience. Crowd was pretty bad, and some of the guys there were really lechy. One of the guys there literally groped my girlfriend.
Clubs that are mostly reggae and hip-hop are not really my thing. But, I have this place a try just for kicks.First off, a $24 minimum on credit cards for watered down alcohol is absolutely ridiculous.Secondly, within the first hour I almost got into a fight because one tries to lick my womans hand and the other looked like he was trying to slip something into my friends drink.Lastly, upon leaving - two hours after arrival - it was a circus of people starting to get sick from drinking too damn much in the first place and me trying to avoid them from throwing up on me.As I said previously, gave the place a try. Never again.
The entrance is CASH ONLY $20 bar card with a minimum of $24 and NOT strong drinks.. I dont carry cash around so that was a situation at the entrance.. Once inside there is not enough place to sit, NOTHING to do with Brazilian music, the place is DARK! And men approach you in a way that from my perspective is rough.. (My perspective) so make sure you go with company otherwise men will be persistently chasing you..Besides that, everything is on point!👏👏👏👏 comparing SOB to Shrine in Harlem.. Shrine is much better, way cheaper and somehow a better behaved kind of environment (review based on the party night only however, I will have to try to attend the concerts there maybe I will have a better time)I would give it a second chance for concerts only.. Just to check
Its too dark, and its not enough chairs and tables. Plus the drinks are overpriced! The stage is enormous and is the most bright part. I wear eye correctives, and it bothers me because after I leave the light from the outside messes with me. I know its the right place for shows, but its a depression moment especially at the V files shows!
I was there Tuesday night 7/31 and I ordered drinks using my card and tipped my bartender with cash. I checked my bank statement and he got tipped twice, despite me crossing through the tip part and adding cash tip. His service was def not worth receiving 2 tips and I don’t appreciate that, I don’t come here regularly and won’t go out of my way to either
Attended many parties with different bands and had fun, but the venue is very small.💃💃💃
Music- not good. The DJ’s did NOT do well. Overpriced drinks. Went on bollywood night. Wouldn’t go again. Ticket prices were high so I expected a lot better.
I wish i could give SOBs -1000 ( minus ) stars. I havent seen such a disgraceful act quite recently as they practiced. Had people on guest list supposedly before 11:30 pm complimentary entry. Had everyone piled up at 10:45 pm, no entry allowed whatsoever waiting in cold for an hour, even longer, start letting in at 11:40 pm, then having to make people pay the cover charge despite showing them the invite. A total disgraceful act. Many years ago i occasionaly used to go there, thought this was a legendary spot, certainly after this experience, i really dont think this matters much since i kwow they dont have respect for people, so their music, show or ambiance are of no importance to me at this time
Nice spot to party on a Saturday night, OK crowd. Music is good. The 1 negative thing about this club is its ratio of men to women. Having visited this spot about 4 times in as many months I do feel like there have been too many guys in there and thus the women have to deal with men swooping down repeatedly like vultures. I am a male.
The dude organizing bollywood night will randomly stop the music and come onto the mic to scream ladies please get to the front to make some video. Vibe killAlso, 6$ water
Great music all around
Do not come here for Caribbean Saturday (107.5 NYC radio station)!!!! Do not do not do not!!!! Im a Leo, and like many other Leos, I wanted to celebrate my birthday with great music and fun. I decided to try Caribbean Saturday. The flyer for this weekly event says ladies free before 12 with RSVP so myself, a few of my lady friends, and a whole bunch of others who saw the flyer RSVPd and got there way before 12. ITS A SHADY SHAM!!! They made everyone stand in line outside from 11 to 12 to then ask for $20 at the door. What?? My party and I paid the $20 since we had been standing in line for almost an hour and didnt want to spoil my bday. MIND YOU- when we entered, the venue was TOTALLY EMPTY! There was no need for a line at all. Its was only a ploy to rob money from people. When I brought it up to the host at the front, they rudely ignored me as if I wasnt saying anything. I told him that people shouldnt do shady things like that to other people; who knows how long and how much hassle it took for someone to get there and stand in line and to think that anyone could not of had the $20 fee after all of the waiting they had to do given their logical understanding that if they arrive before 12, they would be granted free admission. They couldnt care less. Not to mention that the party was subpar at best. SMH! Its an embarrassment to those in the urban community to operate business that way. Out of principle, do not come!
First Time At SOBs 4/4/18 To Support The Late To The Party Event For Up & Coming Hip-Hop, Rap Talent From The Tri-State Area. The Event Was Dope, The Food & Drinks Were Resonable & Very Good!! Would Recommend For Sure!! Pics . On Their Website. 🍸🍷🍽🍲🍤
I went last Saturday and it was way too cramped. The sounds were nice, but there was barely any room to dance. The drinks are overpriced and maybe this is the reason the guys that attend are so thirsty. The thirst is real.
Went here for my birthday celebration 12/24/16. I rsvpd so it was made so much easier. The Jewish party prior to carribean night ran late so I freezed by butt off for 1hr on the line was there around 11:06pm didnt get in until around 12am. Besides that I had such a blast. The music was awesome, it kind of died down when they started playing super old school music lol. But besides that Id totally come back here again. Well worth it.
I visited the this place on Saturday. They got a pedifile at the door to sell tickets. He literally touches the girls in line and gives them discounts to not say anything! He even told one couple to make out in front of him and he’d give them a discount absolutely disgusting!
Nuh go lie the music was good but the drinks to damn experience thou
Since they have the band I like playing over there back to the 80s they are something special
Last night(1-31-13) I went down to SOBs for a concert.I went to the bar ordered 2 Vodka and Tonics and a Stella Artois; The price of which came to $34.98(without tip).Which I thought was a little expensive, even for Manhattan. I looked at the receipt and noticed I was charged $4.98 for a Service Fee.So apparently, if I use my card, they charge a service fee, without mentioning it, NO Signs, anywhere, and the only explanation given by the waitress wasI just run the cards, thats my jobThis is totally unacceptable, I have never been to any place in The City, or anywhere else besides an ATM, that has charged me a fee simply for using a card.Especially without any signage!!!!Regardless to say, I wont be back.
I threw my 24th birthday function at SOB’s. Im not going to lie at first I was a little skeptical if it would be a good place to have a something here but I was overreacting it was an amazing night DJ was on point and the drinks was good. Shoutout to Rawl cool dude he made everything go right for me. 5 stars ✨
Had an AMAZING time when I took my girlfriend here for her birthday! Live Latin music was on fire and food and drinks were incredible! Not to mention the waitress was super nice! Will be back!
After suggesting this place to celebrate a friends birthday. We all arrive at 11pm with free invites and was not allowed in till after midnight an then told we have to pay or we can’t get in. It’s tiny inside and gets very crowded and it’s hard to even get anyone on the phone or to respond to your email.
I came here for a concert. Its a little small but not too bad. Not a Brazilian venue despite its name , drinks are tropical and food isnt Brazilian. For concerts/shows, its fine.
While the venue is sub-par, SOBs is known for featuring amazing and talented artists -- both new and established. Ive seen Teedra Moses, John Legend, and Jill Scott perform at SOBs and each time Ive enjoyed the intimate atmosphere that SOB provides. However, I do not recommend ordering any food. Instead, eat at a great restaurant before heading to the show.
My friend was throwing up in the bathrooms and they were so helpful and caring. They were even going to give her a change of clothes. The DJ is really good as well. I love the diversity in this club.
A shadow of its former self. This was a great place in the 80s 90s and early 2000s. The re-design has turned an open, inviting place into a dive. The food is good still bit the atmosphere is a disappointment.
Great place, good vibes, great people, definitely always go when one of my friend are performing here. Never a dual moment.
Almost got robbed by security at sob. Security is trashy and this venue is trashy. Save your money if youre thinking of visiting this place. There are many nicer and safer clubs in NYC.
Had a great time Saturday night with my wife and Mom. The food was great and so was the service. Cant forget the awesome live band. I recommend SOBs for sure!
I went there 2 times for a salsa event and it was great. Once, with a few friends we decided to have brunch there and to my surprise the food was good and we had a nice time as well listening to live music.
Crowd is not so good but club is amazing
Extremely hypocritical and aggressive staff. Forcibly threw me and about 20 others out of a Joey Bada$$ concert for smoking weed when both the artists and DJs on stage were all smoking. Not saying I condone smoking or breaking state law but its ludicrous to throw 20 people onto the street without a warning for doing something that 200 people inside the club (including every single one of the performers) are doing. I wouldve put it out if asked, i didnt need to be assaulted. A bunch of random kids on the sidewalk that never met each other share stories of how they were grabbed by 2 guys and dragged and thrown out the door, only to stand outside with clouds of smoke pouring out from the inside while listening to music about smoking weed. This place is a waste of your time and money.
The name of the place is sound of Brazil. I was expecting authentic brasilian food and music. The bouncer Larry was very nasty. The other workers were nice though. If you are looking for a Brazilian restaurant and looking to listen and dance to brazilian music do not go there. They also make you pay 18 dollars to get in which is ridiculous. We just wanted to eat there thats it.I have no idea why the heck this place is called sound of Brazil if there is nothing Brazilian about it. Thankfully we found a real brasilian restaurant a few blocks from there which is called Berimbau do Brasil or something like that. The food was great and the drinks too!
Legendary epic place. i have gone here for year and its a small nice spot. i got to see so many dope acts at sobs over the years. then the food is great. the drinks are awesome
The food and drinks were great atmosphere is amazing Service was exceptional
It was awesome party experience and would love to go again. Just one star less because they promised a celebrity appearance but didn’t happen.
It was okay. Long line moved pretty quickly but bouncer at the door has an attitude. Drinks are expensive.
A few months ago I took my daughter to see her favorite artist August Alsino at SOBs. I paid $150 for a meet and greet, plus a signed CD. Well we got to meet and greet August, even though they over sold tickets-August was upset, tired BUT we begged to meet him after waiting on line for over 1 hour after the concert-reluctantly he waited, but NO SIGNED CDs, They didnt even have any CDs to give...... My daughter wanted that CD sooooooo bad, and I refused to buy it after paying $150.00. The next day, I was in communication with the Owner/manager of SOBs who was NO HELP in getting me a copy of the CD, very tasteless, he had the nerve to treat me as if I WAS GIVING HIM A HEADACHE. REALLY ;(• • •
Space is good for a concert. Very intimate setting to see a good artist/performance. Food is ok and drinks are decent. Staff is friendly and attentive
I was at the venue Friday the 13th to see Jimmy Bosch play. Met with a few people. Place was ok, but as a friend went to close his tab a bit before 11p, the White Bartender that assisted him, looked like he was high on drugs!! That alone was scary. Its not difficult to close a persons tab, but the white bartender struck my friend out of no where and for no reason at all. Of course, my friend defended himself, but that same bartender STRUCK his girlfriend also. SHE HAS PICS OF HER BRUISED ARMS! I suggested they go to the Police. The crowd that night was calm and relaxed. OBVIOUSLY the manager keeps employees with atrocious and violent behavior. How disgusting of the manager to allow this! Delinquent Reputation for the Venue, I see. Never again will we go. For those who do...Watch out for that bartender for your safety.
Son of a bitc...............! This place has been around for some time now! Alot of international bands from around the world often show up here. Haitian bands play well there and is know for the cool vibe. The food and drinks were cool last i was there
SOBs is a nice intimate spot. I went for Marsha Ambrosius Friends and Lovers album release event. The acoustics, service and food were great.
Staff is rude and not friendly very unprofessional they need to be train on being hospitable.Sound engineer has a chip on his shoulders wont work with the artist to produce good sound, system was horrible everyone doesnt know it all each day you live you learn management please provide training to your staff.
Food was mediocre, but the ambiance was great; went with friends for the unlimited sangría, which was also mediocre. Service was punctual and efficient; live bossa nova band added lots to the atmosphere; would return with a large group.
Great venue but the poorly made $20 drinks are blasphemous
Went here to see Kabaka Pyramid for my birthday and I had a blast! Only downside was that the bar required me to purchase $30 worth drinks so I can use my card. I found an atm outside
Honestly I found it very small and the music was ok’esh, most expensive as compared to any other clubs around NYC. it gets crowded with time & no place to enjoy properly.
Was here for one of the Bollywood Saturdays. Both the DJs were so below average - playing the not so famous, low energy songs
I called you guys multiple times to inquire about a missing bag and have yet to get an email or anything just to even say yes or no. I left my number and there’s literally no real person to talk to when I call. I have a bunch of important stuff missing and just need literally like 10 minutes of somebodies time to let me know if it was found or not 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Mad fun. First party I ever went to. Definitely going back for more.
Literally the worst club and DJ. In the name of a club it’s just a low maintenance warehouse with some DJ lights. Poor experience!
Says shows starts at 7pm it already 9:15pm and now show. Also charged $12 service fee online and there are none at the door. Humid and overpriced drinks. Another money grab.
I went there for a concert. Good place, not outstanding. Will definitely go again. Drinks are ok but music was really good, crowded.
Way too crowded of 16 yo people!Drinks are overpriced and small. Come on, look at your reviews and try to make it better !
Perfect, intimate venue. Got to see Joey Badass live here, and the place was bumpin. Cant wait to be back for another dope performance.
The dj never shut up. Cant listen and dance if all they do is talking the whole time and promoting the show coming the following week.
Legendary venue to perform!
My friend performed there, so I came to show support. My experience was good.Im not a club person, but Id definitely go to S.O.Bs again!
In bollywood party no respect for punjabi people and we hope early togather for this issues ...i like now near time square bollywood party very amazing party we stop now SOB bollywood party
I have been in this place many times in the last 10 years. Excellent live performance. I checked them out constantly. You should too
Hello, sound of Brazil owner, I would want to attend Techy Fatule’s concert on September 18th. However I am 19 years of age, it’s there a way I could attend the concert and still purchase the tickets? Thanks
Nice club. Came here for Bhad Bhabie’s concert. I wish it was bigger but the bartenders and security were nice. Winded up running into Theresa from Jersey Housewives here! Lol
Love the dancing: get there early for ladies free, stay for the switch of styles at 11pm. example: you can salsa and then stay for the hatian party.
The best place in terms of security. The food is excellent, its about having a good time. Number 1 in terms of meeting place in town, always an unforgettable moment.
Sketchy place that could be great but chooses to be shady. Waitress tried to take a 40% tip. Count your cash.
WAT A WAST OF A SATURDAY NIGHT! WENT WITH COUPLE FRIENDS THEY SAID U CANT COME IN IF YOU DONT BRING A GIRL? THEY CHARGE YOU TO GET IN BY HOW YOU LOOK! ITS A DIFFERENT PRICE FOR EAch PERSON! Stay away from this place!!!!!
I went to a 90s themed party. It was pretty good. I would definitely go back for another one.
Great atmosphere, loved the vibes. However, the drinks SUCKED! And you should hire more attractive bar tenders.
Cool venue, good sound
Good drinks, good food, friendly serviceDope atmosphere
They have the worst servers ever ! You call these people and they are rude and they dont even listen to your questions (she called herself as a manager of the afternoon shift, she does not have skills to be a manager at all). This place over charged for a cheap food and service ! Dont waste your time there! please.
Went to see Kota the Friend perform here not too long ago. I really dig the venue space. Hope to someday perform here myself ;)
Audio is terrible bad, i dont know why because they have been 100 years in the game...music and bands are 5 stars, eat outside food prisy, drinks too, 15 dollar a mojito uffff snd they are not but done but...
Desi saturdays is fun but a little too brown for me. $20+ for drinks
Please are you really going to make people pay $30 to get in AND wait in a line?? Either manage capacity better or don’t sell tickets?
Be prepared to stand. Or get a table but you have to buy drinks or food. The food is actually pretty good. But not the best place to hang out
I came here for the RnB party and had so much fun. There was only one bartender so the line was a little chaotic but overall I had a great experience.
I use to frequent SOBs when I was younger and partied a lot more than I do now. I met some friends here for a party on a Friday night hosted by WBLS of old skool R&B/Hip hop and a littel reggae. We had a great time, the venue was just how I remembered it, spacious and well maintained, Thank goodness it was a mature crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ladies free as long as you RSVP.
Sobs brunch is fantastic! The service and food is exceptional. Also great music -- been to multiple concerts there and love the crowd!
OMG... MOST EPIC DESI SCENE IN THE CITY.. HAD A BLAST PARTYING IT UP GREAT FRIENDS, AMAZING DRINKS, AND THE PLAYLIST FOR DAYS OF DANCING.. LOVE THIS PLACE.. ❤️
Please dont be here at 10 they call you here early just so they can show a huge line. They are big mfks. Go anywhere but here good vibes. They don’t even take you even in at 11. Waste & unprofessional individuals.
The salsa parties are good, they have great live band playing some days. the food is pricy but tasty.
I HAVE TO GIVE FIVE STARS (SOB)I TOOK MY WIFE THERE FOR A SURPRISE MAJOR WAS PERFORMING SHE HAD KNOW CLUE UNTIL WE GOT INSIDE SHE SO THE PICTURE ON THE WALL BEHIND ME WE ALSO DID THE MEET AND GREET WHEN I TELL YOU MAJOR IS A WONDERFUL MAN WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR OUR PICTURES SPOKE SO MUCH LOVE AND THE SHOW WAS FANTASTIC I WOULD GO SEE HIM ANY WHERE HE GIVES YOU YOUR MONEYS WORTH AND MORE.
