Depending on what youre here for, its either a fantastic time or a sticky hot sweaty mess. Its usually 18+ so sometimes the place is teeming with drink children who cannot hold their liquor. Some concerts or shows with older audiences can be great though. Very centrally located and theres plenty of late night food options around.
So as usual the music was great, but since I’ve been going to Webster Hall (longer than I care to admit) it has been a venue I don’t really care for. First, they take the cap of your water bottle and run the water in the bathrooms hot so you can’t refill there. They do have a public water refill station, which is great, but I still don’t get why they have to do that in the bathrooms and they’ve been doing that forvever. Unless you get a good spot early, you’re not going to see the stage or the lights that well. I had a great spot the first set but if you need to get water or use the bathroom trying to get back to that same spot is awful. It was a sold out show so I understand it being crowded, but they over sold the show, which I think is a constant at Webster. We were like sardines there. During the second set I tried to move to the GA section of the floor and couldn’t even get through the doors. People were overflowing to the bars. The lights were incredible (when I got to see them) but the sound was mediocre. I will always recommend seeing a show by these guys because the music is stellar but when they over-sell a show it’s hard to really enjoy the experience. Overall I give Webster 2 stars, the staff is nice and we got in from the line super fast and the search was quick but all their other policies I’m not a fan of. Would prefer if they’re going to play NYC that they play The Palladium (formerly PlayStation, formerly Bestbuy, formerly Nokia) where there are seats and two levels of floor space, two bars, and exceptional bathrooms. The bathrooms at Webster were up kept though and I have no complaints about them. All in all, if The Biscuits are going to play NYC I’d rather they play a more accommodating venue.
Came to see Twin Temple on February 29th. Webster Hall was easy to find and navigate. Restrooms were very clean as well as the entire place and loved how they had multiple bars around which helps avoiding to go far to get a drink. Felt safe with the security and the entire time during my visit. Looking forward for more shows here, I liked the vibe of the place and how close it is to everything.
I took my son along with my fiancé to see the Aquabats, Argolites and Left Alone. My son who is on the spectrum has a blast. I attended this venue a few times 30 years ago but this night with my family was extra special. The security guys were extra accommodating to my son who wouldnt stop jumping up and down and screaming, the elevator guy who smelled delicious was super sweet, the girl at the front who was putting wristbands on -I mean...EVERYONE was super sweet! Not one complaint! Not one. They even said Good night to my son. Really kind people at Webster Hall.
Sat July 6th 2024:Always a great concert venue — nice bartenders, sadly I had issues with adding tip to my transaction at two separate top floor bars so I could not add tip in order to pay with card. Yoi Toki tour had a few pretty cool DJ set performances and it was worth sticking around til the last hour of the show.
I absolutely love this venue. Ive seen multiple artists here. Always great artists at this place. The layout was really cool. Its a good looking, beautiful place and a cool part of town. Almost not a bad view in the house . Its a pretty good size venue but keep in mind its small ;. Sound quality is excellent. I will keep going back and coming back.
The building is very interesting. Lots of stairways and nooks and crannies. Old New York. A great place to see a show. It gets crowded and close up front, like most standing room venues. Upstairs is a great place to be if you can get there early.Good sight lines and sound. Plenty of bars.Bartenders are a mixed bunch Be careful and stay alert. One of them got me in the worst way because I questioned his overcharge. Was afraid I wouldn’t make it out of there.I’ll never go back.
Something about the structure of the venue seems dingy. It might be the old wooden vibe. Its a good venue that can accommodate a medium sized crowd. The lighting and sound quality is good....not terrible but not spectacular. I do like the disco ball effect. Its a nice touch that makes certain performances more ethereal. I noticed that it was difficult to find a bathroom. Not sure if it was a me thing or if they did some remodeling and removed some bathrooms. Pictures and video are of the amazing Patrick Droney and Cecilia Castleman. Cheers!
Amazing. Music and artistic from all around the world. Great staff. Even unisex bathroom with in house attendant that sells gum deodorant etc. The renovation and artwork are amazing here! Sometimes the party spills over into the bathroom. Security, bartenders coat check djs are amazing! A fun place to be to relax meet new people and have a genuinely good time.Great experience every time Im there.Scwabby the manager is the best!
Love Webster hall. Drinks are poured heavy, the staff is friendly, big space so every place you stand is a good view. The basement has black lights with amazing art and details. Such an amazing vibe
Webster Hall is hands down one of my favorite venues in the city. The atmosphere is electric, the sound quality is top-notch, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The history of the venue also adds to its charm, with its iconic ballroom and stunning architecture.
I’ve been to this venue a couple of times, this past weekend I saw Keke Palmer in concert. It’s a decent size, and it has 2 levels. If you’re in the standing area you might want to be towards the front, otherwise I suggest buying tickets for the 2nd level (balcony). It was fairly easy to get in, security is fast and efficient. One thing I don’t like is how the floor bounces in the general admission section depending how pumped the crowd is.
We came into the city to see Kang Daniels concert. Absolutely loved this venue and was extremely impressed with security from the line up outside to the checkpoint upon entry. Everyone was wonderful. The concert itself was incredible. Sound and lighting were on point and the giant disco ball at the end was a delight.I always check bathrooms and I was very happy that there were an adequate amount of stalls and most importantly it remained clean. I will definitely be coming back to see more shows. Thank you
My cousin and I went to see Chase Atlantic at Webster Hall, and it was great! It was a sold out show, so it was expected to be crowded which was fine. In the beginning, staff was very helpful and great. However, leaving the venue we were trying to get a quick picture of the sold out sign above the entrance and were told to keep it moving so we really didnt get a great shot leaving the show. I guess its understandable considering you have a few hundred all trying to exit the same place, but still. Would have only taken a second.. anyhow, all in all, it was a great show and we really enjoyed seeing the band. Would definitely go again!! 💜🖤👌🏻
The staff were amazing, efficient, friendly, and organized (except for the mass exodus when the concert was over, when directions were a bit unclear, but I think signage would help with that) Our event was a Kpop concert, so the stage was just big enough to accommodate the group and their backup dancers, and the lights and sound were great. But the stage was a bit too low to clearly see all of the choreography past the heads of the people in front of us during a standing room only event. Its a small space, not surprising since it is a concert hall wedged into the East Village, but they managed it well and there seemed to be good access for folks with disabilities. The lineup outside waiting to get into the building was well managed but ended up wrapping almost entirely around the block, which put us somewhat in the way of NYU students and other pedestrians just making their way downtown. People were pretty chill, and some of them asked what we were in line for, but it did feel like we were a bit in the way. Again, just an unavoidable consequence of the tight quarters of the 11th street block. Overall a great experience, even though standing room is not the most comfortable for an entire show. It would have been nice if the venues website had indicated it was SRO so we would know what to expect ahead of time. All I could find was information about the capacity for SRO versus seated, but nothing that specified which it would be for this particular event. The restoration is beautiful, and the giant disco ball was a good time :) The balcony was used only for a small number of attendees, and I couldnt tell if that was a separate ticket purchase or an accommodation for folks with conditions that prevent them from standing in a large crowd.
The most professional and fun spot to see a show! I work with many bands as media and when I lost my media-pass (sticker back too loose due to sweat) the staff returned in two minutes with a new one. Everyone’s mission was to make sure you were having a good time. There was not a single moment where I felt unsafe. Everyone had a job to do and no one was mean. Level of safety was 110% Everyone working brought their A game. Even at moments towards the end of my event the level of professionalism was felt no matter what time or moment occurred. Best of all, I walked by a woman sitting on the floor of the venue tired and out of breath but instead of the usual mean security you hear about at other venues I saw one of the staff members at Webster getting on her level and asking questions to her if she needed water or medical assistance instead of using physical force to kick her out of the show. I was so shocked to see someone on staff doing the right thing to ensure that everyone had a good time even those who needed assistance that this one interaction with a concert-goer alone warrents this 5 star perfect review. A staff that not only cares but never got in the way of the overall goal of the hive mind of the “On With The Show” mentality. Cheers Webster!
Iconic live music venue close to Union Square 14th Street. 5 minute walk from the 4 and 5 trains. Friendly staff, great sound system. Even though I was standing at the back of the venue, I had a good view of the stage because the floor near the stage is lowered and thus, no tall people blocking my view.
Webster hall is legendary. I love to come here for shows and this venue has a special place in my heart for dubstep events.Like any venue when it really sells out it can be a bit crowded. But you can really enjoy the show from anywhere, and getting a drink is never a problem.Lately, if I had to provide one negative it would be that somehow the acoustics can make the sound in the back a bit weak and the sound of the crowd can over take the show a bit. If they could somehow boost the sound in the back a tiny bit I wouldnt have anything else to say.
Fist time I was at this place like 15 years ago. They we’re closed for some time and yesterday I was first time after reopening. Honestly I expected it to be decently renovated, but not. A lot of stuff should be fix but concert was pretty good, and stage isn’t bad. You can do better Webster Hall! And $5 coat check is overpriced
Cool venue, horrible policy that they don’t let you back in if you go outside.Whats the point in wristbands or tickets if you can’t go back inside to an event you paid for. Security at the front ruined my whole experience
Mixed feelings about this place.Pros: Large venue with freedom to roam the floor or the balcony. Lounge/ bar area downstairs by the bathrooms where you can still hear the music and watch from screens. Average beer prices. Good sound and light production. Security thoroughness is average. Good location, easy to get to.Cons: Excruciating lines. I have been stuck in entry lines that wrap around the block, even an hour+ after doors opened. THEN once inside, I had to wait almost 40 minutes to check my coat. It seems like their staff/ organization is just really sloppy. Ive also had experiences where staff is very short-tempered and rude, either yelling or pushing past, unprovoked.
I had a terrible experience here for big Matthew (BM) concert. The security was terrible and very condescending. The manager of said establishment was also very problematic and discriminatory but the event management was very understanding and considerate towards the situation at hand. If I could give her a 5 star I would but this establishment deserves a 0 for poor service, poor management, and poor security.
This has become one of my favorite concert venues. Now that it’s been renovated, it feels spacious and I have felt incredibly safe during the past two concerts here — one I watched from the balcony (some security guys say you can’t go up there but it’s clearly not true especially when it gets full of fans) and the front row against the barrier. Security is efficient and the line moves quickly. Floors are sticky as always, but the new bathrooms are much better. Unfortunately, you can still expect to pay $15 for a big $6 can of hard cider like at any concert venue. Fortunately, the tickets are usually such a good deal it doesn’t matter.
This place holds special memories for me. It used to be the original Ritz, where I went a lot in my misspent youth. Many shows from the Ramones to kiss Joan Jett Jimmy PGe Stevie Ray Vaughn and many more. The room still has a great sound, a great view, and super nice staff from the bartenders to the security . Highly recommended
I have had such a good time with my friends from 1995 to 1997... This was the place to go and dance all night...remember this long line just to get in... 3 dance floors ... my fav was the one in the basement..I will never forget this place... I was 22 at that time... just arriving from France. Love ❤️ NYC
First time here at Webster Hall for Medasins RIPPLS Tour and the show went above both our expectations! Great sound, amazing visuals, and friendly crowd. The check-in was a breeze with app and QR code scan, though there is a quick security pat-pat before entering. Inside the venue, the space is clean and spacious in the lounge/bar room. Our drinks are prepared nicely. It seems as though the stage room on the second level did get more condensed after the renovation. But nonetheless, it was another enjoyable time in NYC and even better to stay inside this rainy night.
Weve attended numerous concerts here. Staff is friendly and helpful, sound and lighting are incredible and the vibe is always awesome. One of the best places to catch live music.
Went to see Ava Maybee and she was so good! I had a fun time and felt safe in the venue. It’s right next to a moxy which is nice to get some drinks before shows if you don’t want to spend venue prices. The crowd was cool and the vibe was great. I had a great time and would consider going to future shows here again!
I had an amazing time seeing Men I Trust here!!! The venue is large and has a balcony area. At least at this show they didn’t bother with a “VIP” area which I appreciate a lot. Also worth mentioning is that the beer and mixed drink my friend and I got came out to $20, which is definitely a decent price for a venue in Manhattan. I’ll come here again if I find another great band coming
Nice venue, went for a couple of concerts. However, I felt that last concert (Britney Howard) the PA system was a little bit off. But, nothing more to complain. The bars are well located across the venue.
I love Webster Hall! Huge venue and the staff there are cool and laid back while still being very attentive. They have a nice lounge area near the entrance/exit where you can enjoy some drinks and snacks at the bar before heading upstairs to the main stage areas. There are bars scattered everywhere throughout so you will never go thirsty ;)
Absolutely loved the venue itself and the experience. Security is very friendly throughout the concert and helpful with any questions. Drinks are pretty expensive which is the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. People are pretty defensive of their spots so dont take someones spot or try to squeeze in front of someone.
I love this venue! Two levels to pick from whether youd rather be down in the pit jumping around, or up on the balcony with a great birds eye view. They have a great light system and it always feels like an intimate show here no matter the size. I also really appreciated the thoroughness of the security upon entering- made me feel very safe to be there.
Absolutely amazing. You can get real close to the stage and the acoustics are amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
Webster Hall and its Alice-In-Wonderland stairs never stops being a great place to escape the everyday.
Cant beat this small venue in NYC if you want to see your favorite band/ artists up close. I think Ive seen Arctic Monkeys, The Wombats, Vampire Weekend, and Vieze Asbak legendary experience every time
Saw Nick Hakim here - huge venue but still retains the intimacy of most great concerts. Cool to be in a historic venue like this. The staff were easy to deal with. Drinks were pricy but so is every venue so that’s just life. I like the lounge couches by the bar - makes it a great place to chill before the show.
Was invited out for the Emo Night event, great location, kind of sucks that theres so many stairs... Had a great time either way
I’ll never forgive this place for making me listen to the immaculate Britany Howard through busted speakers. Great venue but the sound was terrible last night. Would never want to see a great vocalist here again.
The venue is designed for very tall people. Which I am not. If you want to see anything you need to stand right in front or on balcony which is usually VIP for concerts. Being that is my personal problem :) the place is great. Wheelchair accessible, great drinks and security is tight. Ps. In this photo the MGMT manager gave my daughter VIP tickets and was a fabulous time.
Not been here for many years. Have been eager to revisit since it reopened in May. It holds 1500 attendees. There is a Coat Check area. Attended with a friend to see Halsey on Thursday night (9th May). Loved the wide stairs on entry. There are no elevators for people with disabilities. There is a small barrier between artists and audience. However, its not a hindrance. There is a bar at back of the venue. Acoustics are solid. Staff are professional and friendly. I look forward to seeing more shows here.
Hadnt been there in at least 3 or 4 years & the new (new to me, anyway) layout is so much better: lobby lounge, more bathrooms on a few levels, elevator, soundbooth no longer obstructing ballroom floor views, and more bars? Yes, please. Sound is still really good except under the balconies. The bartenders were all much nicer & more efficient than in the past, too, but the drinks? So insanely overpriced that its costing them a star - not like they care, Im sure. But nothing served in plastic cups should ever cost that much!
I cant count the times Ive been here for different events and concerts. The venue is great! Perfect size, nice dance floors. Here is a picture of when I saw Crystal Castles here. One of my favorite concerts Ive been to. Im glad Alice is doing solo music now. Anyhow havent been here since the renovation, but Im sure its amazing.
One of the best concert venues in New York because they truly customize the experience to each artist and bring in the best acts. The entire place is newly renovated and easy to navigate. Im tall, so I dont mind the standing room only, but I have seen shorter people get annoyed when they have to jockey for space to see the stage. Will be going back soon!
Pretty decent place to see a live show. Not overly crowded, easily accessible bars in the space.
Pretty great venue with a big stage and also a casual bar space. Bathroom situation not ideal for large crowds, but had a great time overall.
I was fortunate enough to be able to be here opening night for the Jay-Z concert. The remodel came out beautifully with a great mix of both original pieces as well as modern touches to tie in. The prices are what you would expect from a music venue in manhatten so no surprises there, but the service staff as well as everyone else was amazing. Between the sound and lighting it was an amazing show. Looking forward to coming back again.
Ive been here twice for shows and while the musicians were great, honestly its not a good venue. The sound quality was muddy and distorted both times. The bass is particularly bad, ungracefully thumping like what youd expect from an aftermarket subwoofer someone shoved in the trunk of their car. And its standing only so you have to spend the whole show with mediocre audio being shoved by people who showed up late trying to push past you
Fantastic venue. Never a line for the bathroom or the bar on the second floor. Fast debit pay made it easy. Sound quality is fantastic. We saw indigo girls and it was incredible!
On the website they stated to bring a vaccine card or a negative covid test. They knowingly sold tickets to unvaccinated people under a false pretense that you can bring a negative covid test and they will turn you around at the door with a no refund policy. Dont spend your money. Azalea Banks you owe me $68 dollars!
I attended the PJ Morgan concert. Much to my surprise, this was a stand up concert. This very important fact should have been communicated online. The show was nice but I could not enjoy it with people on my back. To have people stand from 7 p.m. when the doors opened until 11pm when the show ended is unconscionable . Therefore, I will not attend any shows at this venue again.
Webster Hall in New York provided an unforgettable venue for Patrick Watsons concert. The historic charm of the space enhanced the musical experience. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with excellent acoustics, created an immersive journey into Watsons music. The venues layout allowed for great views from various vantage points, ensuring everyone felt close to the performance. The energy of the crowd resonated in the grandeur of Webster Hall, making it a perfect setting for a memorable night of live music.
I love this venue. We went for a concert and its just the right size - small enough to feel close to the act and but big enough for good energy. They have bars downstairs and upstairs where the hall is.
Fairly small and intimate venue by NYC standards. I saw the Murder City Devils here in 2015 and Twin Temples in 2024.
The sound at Webster Hall is great. The merch, ticket, and bar staff are all very sweet. My biggest qualm is that they oversell their shows which results in a dangerously overcrowded venue. Someone had fainted in the pit early on in Slowdive’s set and despite the crowd attempting to get security’s attention as well as the music eventually stopping, it took about eight minutes for security to get to the person and help. Additionally, as a young woman, the density of the crowd allowed for some disgusting touchy behavior targeted towards me and due to the environment I couldn’t even turn around to see who had done it, nonetheless report them to security. Again, great sound, kind staff, frustrating security and venue safety.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. First off, the performers were amazing no shame on them or their team. But those who work for the venue the worst. One of the security guards was mean and singled out two of my friends and they did not let them in. Yet, almost half of the rest of the people in were sneaking in alcohol and weed. Please do better or fire the bald, fat security guard.
We were there for the re-opening. It is an amazing place. Historical and yet so modern. One of the most beautiful venues. We had a great night and met a lot of nice people.
Good place for party make music. Lots of red all over, I see many orchestras here always with the party make music! Good selection of women to make happy time. If your orchestra needing to party make music, please kindly come to here and ask for a booking for party make music!! Please bring food.
Concert was amazingEntrance staff friendlyThe box office staff efficientStaff between the entrance and the box office were rude and had bad attitude
Small venue for live performances with helpful and friendly staff. Multiple bars available on multiple floors accommodate the size of the venues very well, and the atmosphere works perfectly for a smaller, more intimate show set up.
Its much different than it was years ago, and not really in a good way. Bartenders were friendly, music was also good yet it is no longer a 3 story club. Instead, it is a music venue with less variety, not much seats or even standing tables. So I would recommend visiting only when going for a music performance of your beloved artist.
Great little venue with great workers. It was very clean and the sound in the actual concert hall was great. If youre considering a show here, do it.
Went and saw Judah and the Lion perform here. Cant really review the band for a venue review, but Ill say the venue was overall really good. They had a couple bars, and the old Manhattan theater vibe lent itself well to the show. The only complaint is I think it could with an extra set of bathrooms, but that was only an issue when everyone was leaving. Id deifnitely go to a show here again.
Ive been here for shows in the past that have been wonderful, but the show I saw tonight was not as good of an experience. I understand the necessity of preventing underage drinking, but my fiance was harassed at the door because his ID picture was a little old and he has since changed his hairstyle. Inside the venue, bartenders are nice but drinks are overpriced. The sound quality isnt what it used to be, either. Overall, Ill probably be coming back since many of the bands I like come through, but not looking forward to all the little things.
If your are short (like under 5’6) come as soon as doors open or else you will not see anything! It’s impossible to see. The sold out show didn’t even open up its open space and we were packed on like cattle. Very bad management. The band even was confused by it and said something during the show.
Webster hall is a good place to see a concert. The only negative is there a lot of stairs, and no elevator. The sound was good, and the employees were helpful.
Once you enter you cant leave. But theres like no seats and if you show up at the time of your show you gotta wait 2 hours for it to start. Having to wait this long in this situation my friend was sitting down (we had to run for a place to sit) and closed his eyes and security eas on 10 about him having his eyes closed as if hes a homeless person loitering, when that wouldnt make sense if we had to scan tickets and ID to enter .... the least this place could do is get more seating for extremely long wait times in the lobby
Was there in 2002 was a blast proper wild night in NYC if I recall the top floor was so dark people were err enjoying themselves... long may old new York haunts live!
Had an office event here. It was live music and sound systems were good. It was spacious. Found a good garage nearby via spothero. Coat check had line but staff was courteous. Serving staff was also great. Overall it was very well managed.
Great sound quality overall and fabulous place for hiphop artists!
My first time visiting this venue I found the staff to be very Friendly and it was a beautiful building. The sound was good. I was in town from Denver. I would like to visit it again... Next time Im in New York.
NOT SAFE! Such a historic venue tainted by new ownership. This venue is NOT SAFE anymore. I committed the unforgivable crime of leaving the venue without retrieving my coat from coat check. When i asked the bouncer if either i could get it or someone could get it for me they attempted to extort me for money and pushed me down the entrance steps when I didn’t let them. This really sucks as i’ve had so many incredible memories at this venue in the past. But the new ownership simply does not care about the environment they create.
Terrible admission experience. Turned away by unprofessional women who thought ID’s were fake. Heckled and berated after purchasing expensive tickets. Said needed 2nd form of ID. Who carries more than a license, they wanted a passport!!! Ridiculous, absurd, rude staff, exception of the security guard who overheard what was happening and stepped in. Never again though.
Its true what they say, the floors are sticky here. Other than that, the place is beautiful–you can feel feel history. The staff there is friendly–doing a sufficient job at ushering people inside. The sound system felt comprehensive.Wanted to share that for an Alex G show, ariving about an hour before doors opened allowed for being very close to the stage (first two rows). For a show that opened doors at 7:30pm, the opener began ~8:45pm, & the main band came on ~9:45pm. Show ended ~11:30pm.Also, important to mention they have free water fountains as well as bottle refill stations!! Id assume you must bring in your own empty bottle to use that since bringing in your own food or drink is not welcome. Unfortunately they blocked off the water fountain area when the show ended.Entrance lines wrap around the block in sections, ensuring to not block any neighboring storefronts. My only criticism for how they manage the lines is the lack of clear communication about where the line continues. It would be helpful to have signs depicting how lines continue around the block. People kept cutting toward the front because they thought the line was very short & my friend was forced to yell to the people 50ft away that the line continues back around the corner. Though the staff eventually enforced that people who ignored those instructions & technically cut the line had to go to the back. I feel it was inconvenient that the responsibility fell into my friends lap & the staff probably couldve communicated that or marked the areas off with rope.
Sir, i’m afraid you’re not allowed to sit on these stairs that lead to a .., well, to a wall, basically, because i don’t know. i don’t make the rules here karen, but if i would, i’d suggest a reality check.otherwise nice place, cool sound, all in all a bit too professional and sterile for my taste in music venues, but then again i’m not from the US anyway. good enough to see live gigs i guess.
Saw sleep token there. Place was great! I have a bit of concern that the main event floor was a bit too flexible and wonder how much people can it hold?
Very unprofessional and poor customer service, by part of the person who was checking ID’s for the list last night 10/21 at BRESH! Event. She asked for ID, what I handled to them, them poorly overlooked. And said almost yell at me, with a rude actitud, “YOU’RE NOT ON THE LIST”. I said “yes, of course i am”. Them ignored me, just like they DON’T TO HELP, then I have to bother the PR of the party. Just to tell them that my name is on the list like I said when I arrived. This never happened in or other previous bresh party.
Good vibes, good music, nice crowd. So last night was Sponge Bob Rave, there was plenty of staff to keep place organized and safe. Lots of litter on the dance floor, plastic cups and beer cans. Floor was thick with grease or sugary drinks the sole of the sneakers kept getting glued. Same for the grimy handrails on the stairways. Place needs a good cleaning, just because its dark it doesnt mean young people should have to dance in filth.DJ was ok, shouldve looked up from time to time to see the crowd was not dancing and change her tunes. It became repetitive after a while and seemed like just noise, no longer techno. But for the most part great time with my date, she wore the best Sponge Bob costume ever!!!
Good staff, beautiful venue, sound was amazing. Saw Alex Cameron in concert and was able to wander. Bathrooms were clean and bar had seltzer and water fountains on third floor. Very neat place and was a fun night.
3rd floor/balcony area is only open for GA when the show is sold out, even though its meant to be open for GA all the time, VIP is basically impossible to get. Had an email confirmation stating the GA has access to the 3rd floor and none of the employees cared, they said that it didnt matter, and there nothing they could do about it. However it is a great overall atmosphere and venue 🤞
The venue and the overal staffs are great, However the reason for the 1 star would be the unprofessional and absolutely disappointing security guard, precisely the person whos outside managing the lines. My concert almost got ruined by the guard telling me to wait in the long line with everyone else(General Admission) While I had VIP tickets which I wokeup early to snatch online and paid triple the price of GA tickets. I would expect for the guard to be able to lead me to the correct line or at least find me the person who knows which line Im supppse to be in. This guard simply did not even care about what I showed him and simply told methere is only 1 line when there is clearly two different lines. Had I not went inside the venue to find someone who actually cared, i would had been all the way in the back which I did not pay for. I paid extra to be able to enter early, not for the security guard to lie and tell me every tickets are the same.
The venue setup was nice, with a lounge and bar on the first floor if you wanted to escape the crowd for a bit. Gender neutral bathrooms as well which is a huge plus!Only loses a star cause its overpriced, but thats every venue in the area. Def pregame because a double whiskey sour is like 24 dollars lol
Love every show I see here! Friendly staff, lines to get in are efficient, and bars/bathrooms are easily accessible. Only feedback is I wish they’d have packs of water behind the rail like some other venues in the city.
For years, Webster Hall used to be my Thursday night playground. I love it here!I just went back last week, after many years - its under new management. Gone was the downstairs dance room it seems, all the fun is upstairs in the main room. The balcony that night was VIP only. The sound system is good, but didnt seem as great as I remember. The drinks are $20-$30, so have a big wallet ready if youre going to drink to have fun. Not sure what was up with the floor, but it was so incredibly sticky I could barely unstick my feet off of it to dance. Sad, because the DJ was GREAT.In other news, it seemed like all the beautiful young of NYC were gathered here to dance, and the vibe was a good one.
I’ve never had a worse experience with venue staff than I have with Webster Hall. Myself and a friend were there for an album signing, got surprised with a concert and then as we waited over an hour with others after the set ended we were repeatedly yelled at, ridiculed and disrespected by staff to get out of the building because “others were taking too long with the signing”. It was a ridiculous excuse for disorganization by blaming fans that were there in the first place for only an album signing. Will never go again.
Best Venue for the Kang Daniel Concert. Staff VERY Friendly and Super organized. Kept everyone moving quickly thru security and into the Grand Ballroom. Came up from Maryland and Webster Hall didnt disappoint. Clean restrooms and concert area.
Used to come here to go dancing on the weekends. Every floor has a different vibe and it was the most fun! Also saw quite a few shows here in both the main room and the downstairs more intimate space. Always a great time!
Staff was super nice and accomodating for me (I was 6mo pregnant at the time). Was given a special area to sit and be away from the GA people. I felt safe behind the barricades. Only downside is that they only allow one person to come into the ADA area so plan accordingly.
The venue is fine, but the staff/security are kind of rude. They pulled my medication bottle out in front of everyone and made me confirm it was my own!! That made me so uncomfortable. I was in shock. Not sure if this is protocol, but I’ve been in other venues and this was never a thing they did. I understand there are people who dabble with substances, but these are prescribed medications. They didn’t even look inside my friend’s bag but they sure as hell dug through mine to find the medication bottle 🤡
Worst place to see a show. You pay 100 dollars more for a VIP early entry and then they let the people who pay 15 dollars for the fast pass and they get to cut you. As you sit in the back wasting your money. Thank you lovelytheband!
Great space. Seen some great shows here.
Nice place but AC wasn’t working that well when we were there and bartender doesn’t have tap water . Only $6 bottles .
Great concert venue. Staff is usually friendly. Small enough that you can see from wherever youre standing. Decent bar service. Could use better signage for restrooms.
Royal Blood at Webster Hall was thundering loud and wonderful. Heart pounding beats and bass that hits so deep that your soul gets ripped out of your body.
Saw indigo de souza here a couple weeks ago and the venue itself was honestly great, the lighting and sound was really solid and it was easy enough to get a good view of the stage even from the back
Atmosphere was cool but Manhattan’s drink prices were wild. Enjoyed my time at BRESH.
Went to a shrek rave in the venue in September and it was pretty fun just kinda odd. they kept switching the vibe from jersey club mix to the actual movie soundtrack. they also threw waffles at the crowd and there was a killer drag performance of I Need A Hero by the fairy godmother. it was weird because they sold the second floor separately so the ppl on the second floor couldnt come to the main stage and so bc they were mad they threw drinks down and the whole floor was unbearably sticky and unwalkable. weird but interesting experience. cool venue, questionable administration.
Went for a concert, well organized, 3 bars available inside the actual room (at least the one I was in) and a main bar at the entrance. Make sure to have the bar code directly on the app to have access to your ticket on Axe.Drinks are pretty expensive (around 20$ 1 Red Bull vodka), they have water fountains available, and bathrooms as well.
Great long running music venue!
Nice venue for the size show we went to, Drive By Truckers. We havent seen them for a while due to multiple reasons. But we hadnt seen our NY buddy in a while either. So the show was good, early enough for me to get to bed at a reasonable hour. Didnt have to stand in line for hours and then wait hours for the band to go on.No craziness were it was so packed that it was almost impossible to go to the bathroom. No pushing from the hordes of people wanting to get to the rail.Overall I would have to say this was a pretty good show for the band and I feel the venue helped.Of course at the end the staff immediately tells you to leave and starts cleaning. Again the floor was not super wet, super sticky or super disgusting...like it normally is.The only odd thing for me besides the politics from the band...no surprise just disappointing. Is that the bathroom is unisex. It is a large room not enclosed with 5 or 6 stalls for whomever to use. Some sinks and an attendant to provide paper towels, etc... I dont have any problems with this, it is just my first coming from a small town.
Wonderful venue. Great staff. My only dislikes are that the coat check is $6 and they dont serve cups of water, only bottles, FOR $6! EEK. It was a good time, but definitely a downer that we would go thirsty if we didnt shell out an insane amount of money for something that should be free, especially for the kind of concerts that the venue puts on. Aside from the high costs, the venue is very easy to access, very easy to get around and enjoy!
What an upgrade the place looks and sounds so much better!! Way to go !! it appears webster hall is the longest standing club in nyc. Staying relevant in 2023 and beyond!! Overall a great experience
I was in the basement, it was calm, a lot going on with the decor I wouldn’t take any pschodelics before going there. The drinks were a little pricy but it’s Manhattan I wouldn’t expect any less. The DJs were🔥🔥🔥 tho
Just another concert Hall with nothing to highlight....on the small side and not great acoustic.
Great for more lowkey concerts where you dont necessarily want to be in a mosh pit but still want to feel a part of a crowd. I saw Niki perform here and was very happy with my experience.
The male bartender was very rude and mean. He should NOT Work at a place where moderately stressful places exist being that he is working a concert hall. I will never attend a concert at this venue unless he’s been removed. No idea how he hasn’t been fired yet. I unfortunately did not get his name but he was slim 5’5 and dark hair faded on the sides long on the top. I wish I could’ve had a better experience since I was looking forward to this event for months. There was one lady who was very accommodating and I appreciate her. Altogether I don’t think someone should attend an event during these trying times. People are too power hungry during the pandemic.
The floors were sticky and we couldnt bring in drinks or food inside, which was annoying, but the Blu DeTiger concert was amazing and super fun!!! I loved it and bought a bunch of merchandise 💖💖💅🏻
Fabulous very large venue.Three floors! $$ Its Manhattan! Music is great. They really know what theyre doing. Coat check can take a very long time. Try to go without one or get there early! Gets very crowded. Be patient. Dont start pushing. Staff is very professional!
Great venue! The renovations make this place 100 times better than before. Lighting and sound systems are on point and they definitely add to the concert experience. Drinks are a little on the expensive side but it’s Manhattan.
Great venue. Cheap liquor for top shelf prices. Every time I drink here I get sick.. immediately.
On the bigger end of venues that I like to frequent, but sounds great and maintains enough intimacy to still feel like a smallish show. Classic old architecture, professional and chill staff. Fun location to go to a show in lower Manhattan.
