My friend and I visited and aren’t super big into country music. So we decided to try printers Alley and find jazz music instead! We enjoyed Bourbon Street Blues and it’s eclectic hole in the wall atmosphere. I liked that there was a second floor that looked down over the stage so more people could see. The margaritas and mixed drinks were good, and they had a local cider that was delicious.
This bar is fantastic and a must-visit. The crowd was decent, no fights or shootings 😀😀😀😀😀, but there was an amazing performance on stage. The artists were spectacular, with a delightful repertoire and voices that were simply on fire. The service was very fast and pleasant. The atmosphere was so great that we didn’t want to leave until closing time. Well done, guys. Keep up the good work.
Came here late on a Saturday night after a long day at work. Bars were open and quick in service. Prices were reasonable. The band was awesome! It’s a small area but there’s two stories and we were able to get a good view of the stage wherever we sat. It was very loud but the vibes and energy were super positive. Recommend!
Get ready for some fun. Great music and a great crowd. There’s a “mixed bag” of singers and musicians that get drawn and combined at random for a unique musical experience. Strangers became friends over great vibes and a variety of music. I’d love to go here again with a group of friends and maybe sign up to contribute my talents!
We popped into this place just to check it out.... and we didnt want to leave!! It was so much fun!! Our server, Majeska was absolutely amazing!!! The bands were fantastic and the drinks were perfect! We had reservations next door so we had to leave... but came right back after! Ended up spending a couple more hours! Highly highly recommend.
This is a must do while in Nashville. Especially once youre tired of listening to country. The artists were top notch and tight when we were there. Drink service was great. Didnt try the food but the gumbo looked good.
Please, please read this, if not for your own benefit!Considering in Nashville (with all its generic tourist trap country star themed music bars) generally its all about the country music, but what do you do if you just need a little blues music to fill the soul...well look no further, this is the place to come!Hidden away down the end of printers alley is this little gem. The live music is off the charts.I mean this in all seriousness, I could have spent all day just here listening to the music it was that good.Drinks are reasonably priced and if you only want soft drinks, it is a free refill so thats a bonus. Please, please, if you love blues music, reward yourself and make the effort to find this place, I promise you will not regret it.
Had just been through New Orleans before getting to Nashville, so we were full of the Bourbon Street vibes. I’d say they could really do some much more to make it feel like Bourbon St. there were just beads hanging. Music wasn’t even a jazzy type. Not a lot of standing room. Least favorite place in Nashville & Plus they charged a cover for not a whole lotta experience. We left after one round.
If you like blues this is a great place to go. It had been around forever and definitely has a dive bar feel with a lot of character. We stayed for about an hour and had a few drinks and the fried okra. The okra was great and the hurricane was good. Some people went back later that night to see the house band and said he was amazing and the place was packed, standing room only. When we were there earlier it wasnt too crowded.
As a local, I have been to Blue Street Blues & Boogie Bar multiple times. Monday night is amazing - its open jam night hosted by Toby Mac. Its a parade of outstanding musicians who are called up to the stage randomly in small groups to form an instant band on the spot. This band formation occurs several times each Monday night from 9pm-midnight. They sound GREAT every single time. Its simply unbelievable that they havent practiced together. In fact, sometimes band members are meeting each other for the first time when theyre called up to the stage. The open jam is held every Monday night (10-year anniversary is in August 2024). Blues isnt my #1 music choice but who cares - its fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable every time!
Enjoyed this gem especially being in a country city. It was something different to listen too. The spot is small but we got lucky that a table had two seats so we sit down with the other people. Met so many wonderful people for the hr we were there! Enjoyed the performers!
Best spot for live blues-went twice on our inaugural visit to Nashville. Great music from Corey Caniglio and Stacy Michart-true musicians, and awesome bands. Second floor had the best views and sound. Lots of fun. Drinks were good. Chicken basket-yum! Fries-decent. Highly recommend and will be back!
Its pretty small and cramped inside, and when we went it was completely full. Many of the seating areas dont have a table, so if you go to eat, it may be difficult. Band was good. Service was almost non-existent. The waitress never came to our table - if you didnt walk up to the bar you got no service, and even then they seemed annoyed. Her station was right next to where we sat and she wouldnt even look at us.
During my recent visit to the Burton Street Blues and Boogie Bar, I was thoroughly impressed by the level of fun and entertainment on offer. The live musicians were top-notch, playing an excellent mix of blues and boogie music that really got the crowd going. The crowd itself was vibrant and full of energy, creating an electric atmosphere that was impossible not to get swept up in. It was clear that the musicians were feeding off the crowds energy, which only added to the overall experience.Overall, I would highly recommend the Burton Street Blues and Boogie Bar to anyone seeking a fun and lively night out. The quality of the musicians was exceptional, the crowd was energetic and enthusiastic, and the entire experience was simply unforgettable. I cant wait to return for another night of amazing music and good times.
What a cool jazz spot! We sat Upstairs which had a balcony with tables so you can see the stage and the live music happening on the 1st floor. The place does get packed. A Bar on the 1st and 2nd floor. The drinks were well made and the servers were very accommodating. The place was expensive though. Mixed Drinks and straight were $11-20 each. There was a parking lot right out front which was also expensive. 3 1/2 hours for $37.I’ve spent a lot of time in New Orleans and this does give you the vibe, so worth checking out.
After exploring numerous Nashvilles renowned honky tonks and bars, Ive come to a heartfelt conclusion. Nestled in the iconic Printers Alley, this unassuming joint may not boast the glitz and glamour of its counterparts, but what it lacks in flash, it more than compensates with genuine atmosphere. Theres something profoundly unique about its ambiance, and the music here unquestionably elevates the experience. Coupled with an incredibly warm and accommodating staff, straightforward yet solid food and drinks, and a musical selection that resonates, its become my unparalleled favorite. Its hard to pinpoint precisely why, but it feels as though this place and I are kindred spirits. I wholeheartedly encourage you to pay a visit and you may just discover your own soulful connection here.
First place we went to when we visited Nashville. We went back twice PLUS was the last place we went to before leaving. Music is outstanding. Atmosphere brilliant. Service fabulous. Worth every visit.
Absolutely love it here .. good vibes, great music .. admittedly I was a bit disappointed when we went on my bday last week, as a group of us made reservations a month in advance to specifically listen to Stacy Mitchhart and the bands changed last minute! I understand life happens, but would’ve been nice to have been notified in advance, as I’m sure they had my boyfriend’s contact info from our reservation. Regardless, was still a good time!
This place was awesome! We saw Super T and he and the band did not disappoint. Even though its busy, I highly recommend trying to get a reservation. Its worth it for the great view of the stage, but then the added service definitely helped save time instead of going to the bar and waiting, especially for a larger group. Also, its nice after bar-hopping to be able to sit down and enjoy a show for a couple hours at a table. Highly recommend it!
I went here on the night of Monday 5/13/24 (around 7 pm) while on vacation. Everything was cool except for the upstairs bartender (a young woman). I ordered food at the bar, and later paid for it. Since I bought only one drink from her and she was very cold and unfriendly, and provided no table service, I left her a $5 tip on the screen--I clicked custom amount rather than a percentage of the total. I normally would have left nothing because of her standoffish attitude, but I strongly believe in tipping anyone that works in the service industry. After I came back from my vacation, the charge on my bank account did not match my receipt copy. My receipt copy did not have a printed total of my tip, nor of the total after tip-- I had to write that in with a pen at the time as it seemed suspicious. The total they charged would suggest I left a 20% tip (much higher than $5), but I know for a fact I did not. I called them about this and left two voicemails. Its been at least a week now and they still havent returned my call. I also tried e-mailing them, just to get an automated bounce-back reply that the recipients e-mail address was invalid (I wasted 15 minutes writing that). I did say Id write a bad review if they didnt call me back-- so thats exactly what Im doing here. Its a shame because the band was very good and the cooks did a good job cooking the food. But if you give me lousy service---and I tip you anyway--and you then INFLATE your tip rather than appreciate my kindness, youre going to get an angry customer who will never return, as well as a one star review. If youre the owner, please look into whoever this employee was on 5/13 and make sure shes held accountable, as shes probably taking advantage of other tourists as well. Im here in town to enjoy Nashvilles fine music and support live music, not to get ripped off by someone who assumes I dont check my bank statements.
Visited 8 years ago for first time had such a great time then, spent 2 evenings there this past weekend. Dont miss this place it is the best for live bands! They have good eats as well.
Excellent blues bar 💙If you are looking for a true authentic live blues bar, then look no further! This bar has it all, live music, dancing, food, and awesome drinks. This venue is multiple levels, perfect for a bachelor or Bachelorette party 🥳. Conveniently located in Nashvilles most iconic area PRINTERS ALLY. A real experience that will want you coming back time after time. Dont forget to bring cash for the cover charge and to tip the band. These artists are the best in the business!
What a fun place located right on Printers Alley. Always have a top notch band playing. Very old and very crowded. Most people are from out of town. Prices wre cheap for drinks compared to other establishments in the area. Great atmosphere but check all routes for fire exits in this match box or your a goner.
This place is awesome! We went on a Monday for the open jam night and we were not disappointed. There’s no shortage of talent and enjoyed a change from country music.
We went there tonight to see Stacey Mitchart- I had grilled catfish on a salad, my husband had fried pickles and shrimp and crawfish Etouffe - they were both delicious! And the catfish, something I only get in the south, was the best yet since we lived in Lower Alabama! Service amazing! And the music- well! SUPERB! So much fun! And a joyful experience!
Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar is slightly off the beaten path and a local gem. The bar is not you typical Nashville country bar obviously. Kenneth Wright, a local, regular vocalist has a smooth baritone voice that was amazing. The vibe of the bar is extremely relaxed and fun. The food and drinks were amazing. You have to try the platter with hush puppies, season fries, and fried catfish…the food is delicious. If your looking for something a little less crowded with some great blues…this is the place.
Visited this bar on my 70th birthday trip to Nashville, our thanks to Heather for helping us book seats from here in the UK. We had a fabulous time, good food, drinks reasonably priced and a waitress who worked her socks off. The resident band, Stacy Mitchhart were amazing. If we had a complaint, we booked our seats unfortunately directly underneath the aircon outlets and we were freezing. Otherwise wed have happily stayed for the duration. Four stars because of the air con.
Food is fine, entertainment was good. Too bad the dark-skinned bartender with cigarette earrings cannot compete simple transactions, misunderstands every other order, and has a tantrum if you acknowledge wait times.
I love this place and have been all 3 times I’ve visited Nashville, sometimes twice. Never been disappointed with an act here and the layout gives you a very intimate live music experience.
This is a very fun place. They have rock bands playing and doing a show. On the mezzanine you can watch them with a whole crowd of people drinking, eating and having fun in a theather like way.The food is in The category of bar food and you can find a couple of good surprises like gator and catfish burgers. This looks to me like a very traditional Nashville spot for locals.Good beer, music and food.
We saw Gil Gann playing some fantastic music. Wonderful setting and talent in a cozy hole in the wall type spot.
Neat place off the main drag with wonderful ambience. We came here based off googles recommended places in Nashville and the fact theyve been there forever. What we found was an extremely rude door man out front and an overly packed bar that didnt even have standing room left inside. The bar staff seemed to pick and choose who they served as opposed to who had been in line the longest. So as you can imagine our time here was pressed to say the least. The band that was playing seemed great but we werent able to stay long enough to enjoy them. Never got drinks after standing in line almost 20 minutes and kept getting harrased by bar staff even though we were better located in the bar than others who were told nothing . Again, we found other bars, equally as packed, that went out of their ways to make our experience awesome.
We had no food, but SOLID drinks! The bartender was great, the music was off the hizzle! Great, great Blues! Nice change from Broadway but only minutes walk away. Get Hoffman killed it!
Love the vibe in here. Its a long narrow space, with an upstairs spanning the length - bar upstairs and down and wait staff will come around to refresh. Very intimate feeling with the band! We were there on a rainy Sunday afternoon in February. Good crowd and fantastic super talented band with a great crisp sound system. Saw some folks looking over a small menu, but we only had a drink. We will return!
So I would like an explanation on why my cards are being charged extra after using them yesterday after this place ???!! You guys will be getting a call tomorrow and these transactions will be disputed! My cousin and I went there the other day and had an issue with our server now both cards that were used have been more than what they were supposed to be charged ! Yal pay attention to your transactions from this place they are clearly trying to take advantage of people
Great blues music and wonderful drinks. The 32 oz souvenir drink bucket with choice of beverage was well worth the price. Waitress added a splash of olive juice at my request 😋
Food was great. Drinks were great. Service was great. But the Band (Bizz and Everyday People) were awesome! They were so good, people had made reservations just to hear the band and we lost our table...sort of. But, the next time Im in Nashville, I will definitely visit this place again when this band is performing. 👍🏾👍🏾
If you are into more laid back blues and less woo hoo parties, this is the place. Every time we have been here for the last decade we have been impressed with the quality of music and down to earth staff. Very Bourbon Street feel which is a tad odd in Nashville but then again... most of downtown is odd these days.Park in the garage near the alley if you can.
Great bands and music. Just a bunch of musicians jamming together. Real fun and showcase of talent. Off the beaten path
Miss Shavon took amazing care of me with recommendations and serving quickly and efficiently!!! Please see here if you need a quick drink and professional service!!! Thank you Maam for helping make my night great!!!
The band was great!! I had so much fun at the place. A must visit if youre in Nashville.
Out of all the bars I visited in Nashville, this was my favorite! Great music & food was just as good! Catfish nuggets & voodoo chicken had just the right amount of seasoning. Will be back on our next trip!
This place never disappoints as I go to hear the bands play vs the food. We went on a night Stacy Mitchart and his band played and they really rocked the place. It was very crowded and our show started at 10pm. I recommend making reservations as this venue is small and seats go quickly. The food is average and I will say that the drinks were ordered were strong. I cant remember what I ordered from the drink menu but I did change it out for Woodford Reserve and Coke Zero.
The best blues bar in Nashville away from Broadway, tucked away in Printers Alley! Visited from Ohio and I walked in and immediately felt at home. Small space but it’s part of the experience! Live music always and drinks were great and cheap! Will definitely return next time we’re in town!
Interesting place to listen to live music. A throwback club/bar...variety of food (we did not eat here) and drink selections. Drew an eclectic group of patrons, fun place, clean Ladies restroom.
So glad we went here instead of Broadway St. There was a $10 cover charge. Reserve seats ahead of time as it gets crowded and hard to get a seat. Paid $25 for one signature cocktail and a Yuengling beer! Bartender and cocktail waitress were very nice. We loved the place even more because were not country music lovers, and the band played rock music that night. The band was Sweet Lizzy Project, and they rocked the place. They have a cooler full of water for patrons, which is pretty cool. One bathroom upstairs for each gender which isnt that great because of the long line.
Go on a Monday they have impromptu bands that end up playing some amazing music. Good food and a nice chill crowd
My wife and I have been coming here for years. The music is great! It has always been my favorite bar in Nashville, until last week. We had really good seats listening to Loose Lips. About 3/4 through their performance, a waitress approached us and said there was a two hour time limit on our seats and that we had to move. This is after we paid the cover charge and bought food and drinks + tips. There was nowhere to move to. My opinion is that she was paid off by other patrons. Still waiting to hear back from management!
There is nothing but greatness that I can say about this establishment. This was the second time we came here during our travels and so happy we did. They don’t disappoint. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house depending upon your comfort needs. The servers are spectacular. The band line-up was fabulous. Well done, well done!
An outpost of New Orleans in Nashville, with some fantastic Blues to accompany your Creole food in a cozy venue that caters to a crowd that cares about good music in a good environment with reasonably priced drinks and food.
Small little hole in the wall bar, live music, and laid back! Great spot to get off the beaten path and listen to some wonderful local artists!
Great music. Good vibe, generic drink selection. limited seating. Not much of a dance floor.
Great Band on a Weds Afternoon. Solid gumbo. Great appetizer. Reasonable pricing..1oz Titos on Rocks in Plastic Cup= $12 ridiculous
What a great find in Printers Alley.A great place to catch a variety of sounds.Bands changing periodically and they even rotated in some local artists to test their talents!Dont leave here without trying the voodoo tenders!
What a fun night, great music, friendly staff, nice venue. It was jam night with some great talent, saw alot of love for each other, totally enjoyed my evening ❤️
Had shrimp dish but not really much shrimp tiny pieces, mixed drinks very weak, disappointing. Service and music excellent though.
Hidden gem of Nashville. The music and the ambiance are awsome. The food and the service are ok (we went there for the music) we were not disapointed
This place had amazing music. I’m now a big fan of Stacy Mitchhart and his band whom I heard for the first time last night. Amazing blues music! Our Lyft driver recommended this place and he was dead on! Thanks Jaquan for a great recommendation! I also loved the Virgin Bloody Mary here- you know you’re in the South when you have an adequately salted Bloody Mary! I’ve missed that living in Seattle!
Outstanding service, our server Whitney was the best. Hardest working server weve ever seen. We are visiting from Canada and this place was amazing.
This place is awesome! Great place to have some drinks and listen to some blues music. The gator bites are really good too!
I walked past this for 3 days, and finally went in my last night in Nashville. This place was very cool! I wasnt hungry, but looked over the menu for good. It looked really good. Got a few drinks, those were good. The live band was awesome. They really did a good job. We went upstairs for a few songs to watch from another angle, and that was cool too.
Paid in advance to reserve a seat which I would say is worth it for a good view. Heard some great live music, very talented Angela Easley band, she was a great singer! Also enjoyed the Sax and bass players, the band was very eclectic in what they played and quite funky. Drinks were good and reasonably priced, never had to chase down a waiter.
Great live music off the beaten path! Multi level seating to get a great top down closeup view of the band.
Did not eat here so I cant rate the food. The entertainment was fantastic. Stacy Mitchhart and his band were great musicians and entertainers. Im not a fan of country music so I managed to search for a blues venue while in Nashville. Lots of fun. Its my understanding this group played here quite often. Server was great. She was able to keep track of us as we changed tables 2 times. No draft beer. Bottles and cans only. No big deal to me because we were there for the entertainment. Would definitely go back.
We went at noon on Sunday. The music was amazing but the atmosphere is probably different at night.
Loved this place. Drinks were tasty, the gumbo was delish and music fantastic. The band with Ger, Andrew and sorry I forgot the drummers name were great! So much fun engaging with the band to play different tunes and the crowd seemed to respond with like minded enjoyment. Service can slow down a bit during busy times but they were great overall.
Walking by the you can hear the performers and catch a glimpse of them through the bar window. Stepping through the door from Printers Alley you are greeted to a stage and dual level seating. Live music, great food and drinks await you. I recommend the chicken strips and blackened fries. Definitely the best in town.
Weve been here before and it never disappoints it has that old timy blues feel and the bands are very good. Not a big fan of cheap plastic cups
In my opinion, this is the best hidden gem in Nashville! Printers Ally, as a whole, is amazing. But Bourbon Street is the center of it all.Amazing music, great staff and good food.If you arent a blues fan, its because you have never really experienced blues. Its not just a music. Its an atmosphere. And shy of NOLA, this is it!
Music is the draw & focus, & was great. Service was good. Food was pretty good. Seats needed refurbished - NOT comfortable. Drinks arent cheap so dont be surprised. We did have a great time there.
Heard the music from outside. Stopped on to get out of the rain. Great atmosphere Great staff. Had the NOLA tea. It was good.
This place is EPIC. I went to Nashville on a work trip and, have to admit, that I dont really like country music. I know, shame on me. And my dog, because my lady left me for my brother while I was drinking a bottle of whiskey feelin sorry for myself. I think I just wrote a country song...My first night, I chatted up a server at Eddie Vs and he directed me to Bourbon Street Blues. It’s a little off the main drag, but I had a blast.Night two, I hit the Kid Rock place and four other spots and they ALL paled in comparison to Bourbon Street. So I went back three nights in a row and had the time of my life. Phenomenal music, fast service and the drinks weren’t “kid rock” prices. Don’t miss it!
My friends paid for reservations for their wedding and they were on time.. 2 people sat in the reservation spot and the manager said he would take care of them. We waited and waited while the people continued to sit there. The manager sat in the back and did nothing. We went to leave and I told the manager that it was there wedding and he cussed me out.
Really enjoyed the live entertainment, atmosphere and drinks . Did not try any food
Loved it! We were here visiting Nashville for the first time as my sister was married in Memphis at Graceland so we spent three nights in Nashville and some of the pond Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie bar and we loved it from the band so the great staff and bartenders if were ever Nashville Tennessee again we will definitely be back here again had an awesome time 👍❤
Being from the South, I was looking for a place that reminded me of home, alas Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar. Couldnt go wrong with the amazing live blues music. The menu is also New Orleans style with many options youd see down South. Not quite like home, but pretty darn close. The wait staff was amazing and made sure you didnt go thirsty for long. One of the VERY few places that I have every given a 5 star review.
Service is comparable to the other bars, nothing to write home about.Music and food on the other hand... The sausage Gumbo is superb.
I really like this place. If youre looking for great blues music and a break from the insanity of Lower Broadway, this is definitely the place to go. Its good for lunch during the day and a lot of fun at night too.The venue has a really cozy, cool vibe with comfy table seating downstairs and also upstairs from the cool little balcony area. Its two totally different views of the show so like to enjoy both. The food is New Orleans inspired and I always go for the catfish bites or alligator bites. Very tasty. The music is dependably good. Youll hear a variety of blues styles and also bluesy or soulful rock tunes as well. You can make requests and theyll play your favorites for $20. Tipping musicians downtown is such a good way to directly support the arts so bring a wad of cash! Ger Hoffman is always fantastic and so is Corey Mac.I wrote this review because I want everyone to know what a good hang this place is. One of my favorites. 😊
I loved it here! Staff was very friendly and attentive, even when there was a shift change. Music was fantastic. Food is your typical bar food, but its GOOD bar food.
What a cool little alley dive. Its a small venue which makes the setting more personal and alive. The place has a lot of character and personality. The bartenders are very attentive and makes regular rounds so you dont have to go to the bar for a drink or refill. The drinks are reasonably sized and priced. The live entertainment is great and mingles with the patrons from time to time. If you ever visit Nashville I would highly recommend visiting this bar before you go.
Awesome spot, much better than anything on Broadway. Cant wait to go back.
Fantasies music if you love blues and funky music. The food was mediocre and the service was also ok. But that music hits different.
Favorite venue in Nashville. Located in Printer’s Alley somewhat tucked away from rowdy Broadway. Still lively but a little less traffic. Lucky us, After 5 Tux? was playing a double set. Very limited seating even in the second level. Loved the hurricanes, standard menu. Personally, I find the crowd here much more welcoming and inclusive for BIPOC. One dude barged into the women’s bathroom and started peeing in the sink and garbage, 2 ladies tried warning me and asked if I was ok… this is a level of comradery I’m not sure I’d find at the other bars on Broadway, but surely appreciated. The wait staff and servers are also very welcoming and checked in often.
A quintessential blues bar. Dark, noisy, crowded, and GREAT music. They dont call it Music City for nothing. And they take reservations. Very unusual. Good food was a nice surprise. Expected bar grub but got great catfish.
Such a cool place to listen to music! Had a $5 cover charge (Thursday night).
Nothing can beat the music you can hear at Bourbon Street Blues. It has always been my favorite in Nashville.
Glad to have music besides country to enjoy. The band was incredibly talented, cool atmosphere, food was great. Service was not great but I had such a good time I am happy to see past it! Theres a $10 minimum for cards to be aware of.
Great music and atmosphere. In this establishment we met the most amazing bartender in the world. She remembered faces, called us by name and even knew our drink order every time. I regret to say that I didnt get her name, but I hope to always remember her face and how welcomed she made us feel. Thank you.
We had so much fun here! Its a must stop if you are in town
We had already eaten. Went for the live music & a couple of drinks. The music was FANTASTIC!! would have stayed longer, but after 1 1/2 hrs sitting on the hard wooden chairs, we needed to walk. Would be even better if it was 50% bigger. It was packed!
Absolutely loved this venue! Its a smaller venue with a more personal feel. They have excellent waitresses that are very prompt with your drinks and food. I would recommend reservations for this venue because seating is very limited. But just check out their band line up and reserve ahead of time. I would certainly visit here again.
A total scam at the door with the cover. The place is packed with reserve tables and very little seating. Nobody tells you that at the door but theyre happy to take your $10 cover. Yes I paid to get in and heres my proof. I walked out 10 minutes after walking in with no refund. Id encourage everybody not to go!
We had such a fun night tonight listening to Benny and the band!! We were instantly greeted by J Love when we came in the door. She was so nice and attentive to us all evening!! The food was great and was delivered to our table very quickly! Glad we chose this place to have our fun tonight!!
Slow service, sticky tape on ripped seat marked my jeans and more rock than blues music with a dodgy price cover. Normally much better 4+ but unfortunately not on this occasion so we had to leave early
This is a must visit in Nashville. I suggest going before 7pm as it gets way too crowded at night.
What a find! After doing the walk up and down Broadway and listening to some incredible music, we stumbled upon Printers Alley. When we walked in, the place was crowded, but not so packed that you couldnt move. The music was provided by a gentleman on an acoustic guitar, and his partner on electric. They were great! The blues music, the overall vibe, and the storytelling was just what I needed. The drinks were priced fairly, and the food was excellent! The hushpuppies with drawn butter, the cajun fries and the catfish was excellent!Nashville is home to country, but happy to say you can also find the blues here! A must stop place and obviously popular as well. If you go in the evening, it looks like a reservation may be needed for seating.
This place is so much fun! We wanted to escape the craziness of broadway on our last night here. There was a funk band (Super S I think they were called?) and they were so good and had such great energy. Everyone was up and dancing and they were very talented. The upstairs gives you a nice view. There was a $10 cover and they accept credit card for the cover as well.
This is where you go to see true blues and boogie talent. Thats not even my wheelhouse for music, and I sat there for hours listening to greatness. Do yourself a favor, get off the busy section, and onto Printers Alley for a spell.
Fun place to listen to live music. Great bar atmosphere.
Let me start by saying this place is awesome. The bands were fantastic, our server was great, drinks were good. What soured our night was the bartender, Chavon, who kicked my wife and I and the other couple we were with out of the bar. We literally sat for 4 hours and watched the band. As we cashed out and were about to leave, next thing we knew, the bouncer was asking us to leave. She fabricated that it was because people complained about us and that we were overserved lol. We sat in our chairs and listened to the music the whole time and she’s literally the one serving the drinks. She finally told us it was because my buddy didn’t tip enough. I’ve never been kicked out of a bar in my life. Shame it had to happen at such a great place.
Great dive bar style location. Small place but multilevel seating with a stage in between the levels for perfect viewing. The night I went was open mic night. Different individuals who played different instruments came up all at once to create a band. Never been a part of that before and it was great! Open late and on the cheaper end for drink prices. It is down an alley which can be harder for first time individuals to find.
It was packed on a Sunday night for the live house band!! Only $5 cover!! Drinks were a little bit high but were good. Very limited seating. I recommend reservations. Waitress took forever & was rude, but the rest of the staff were great!! The door lady had me laughing so hard!! I had a good time & would go back another night.
