My 90-minute full-body massage was one of the best I’ve ever had! Well-paced and balanced, conservative but thorough.The location on West 47th is convenient to my hotel. On Saturday morning, I called, and they welcomed me and my wife right away. The interior is not Fifth Avenue, but neither are the prices. A tremendous value!

I had an amazing experience at Tang Tang Spa! Candy gave me a fantastic 1-hour full body massage that left me feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. We were there yesterday 07/09/24 Everything was fine until the masseuse began to command that we gave little tip. I have never seen such impudence; we decide how much to tip and whether to tip at all. So we left not happy. We thought at the beginning that we would go there, but now we will never go back!!!!!! Be careful, they end up demanding more than what is indicated.

They were able to take me and my friend in right away, but that pro was balanced out by an incredibly hurtful massage. Even though my back felt great, (I had just gotten a massage elsewhere a week prior), I had some time to kill so I wanted to give this place a try. The masseuse was incredibly harsh and I had told her to lighten up on the pressure, but to no avail. The day after, I woke up with so much back pain. Additionally, they demand 20% tip, which is what I usually tip anyways, but when I asked for change after giving my cash, they claim they dont have smaller change, so they took a 27% tip and said Thanks for coming!

Jessie was fantastic. She did a wonderful deep-tissue massage and helped to open up tight back muscles, especially. She did a fantastic reflexology session with my feet. I am so grateful to her and the rest of the staff at Tang Tang Spa. I highly-recommend them!

I must go here for a massage every time I come to New York. Every masseur is very professional and friendly. I recommend it. Especially the technician Steven, his technique is very good. He not only cured my back pain, but also solved my uneven shoulder problem. He is a very trustworthy person.

Wonderful massages. Steven is great! I really like the fact his massages are very similar to what you get in Asia. Most other massage places give a toned-down version of what you get in Asia and that amounts to more of a body rub and not a true massage. Steven knows how to give a true massage!

Stay away!!!!! I got scammed here!!!!The lady who did my foot massage would not let me tip her the amount that I thought was deserved. She MADE me tip her a much higher amount, 26% of the total before taxes!! She said the tip is mandatory and minimum 20% tip was required. Please be aware!!!! She demanded the amount of the tip. Very unprofessional. Never going back. This ruined the experience.

This was my first time at Tang Tang Spa and I was blown away by Stephen’s professionalism, friendliness, and massage techniques. He really got out those kinks in my neck and back - and I left feeling fresh. He not only was tentative to the areas that were my biggest concern, but also educated me on techniques I can do on my own to release the muscle tension and tightness. It was SO worth the 90min. Thank you, Stephen! I’ll be back :)

I got a very good massage but had an incident there that left a really bad taste in my mouth. I originally asked for a 60 minute massage, and the woman giving me the massage suggested 90 minutes as time was running out. I agreed. When it was time to pay the total was 85$. I paid and tipped the masseuse 30$. It was all the cash I had as I originally was only going to do an hour, but still a 35% tip. The woman got so mad at the $30 tip that she literally yelled at me to leave. I was stunned. I even asked for the price again to make sure I wasn’t stiffing her. She yelled at me again to get out. It was so embarrassing and humiliating..the experience ruined my day. 30$ on 85$ is 35%. What am I missing here?

Good place for a quick and cheap massage - It helps if you speak mandarin since it makes it much easier to communicate. Really easy to just call in advance (same day) and ask if they have spots so they’ll know you’re coming

LADIES BEWARE. I called for a feet massage and when I arrived I was convinced to do a body massage. In all my years coming here I always ask for woman but this was supposed to be a foot massage. No WOMAN masseuse has ever massaged me like STEVEN. I asked him to work on my IT band (by pointing at my outer thigh) and he included rubbing inches away from my privates. Putting his hand across my pubic bone to go from one leg to the other. And then demanded 20% tip. I’m disgusted.

This was the damn best massage money can buy in the city. I am from LA and Ive never received a better massage like the one from here. Candy and Jenny are both incredible at what they do. Super skilled knowledgeable and friendly. If you are staying in NYC definitely check out Tang Tang you will not regret it!

Jessie is amazing. I havent had a massage this good and professional for years. She really took her time to find where my back pain came from, and did a deep massage for me to release the pressure. My shoulders feel much better after her treatment. She also used volcano stones to warm up my back, its so comfy I love it. I recommend 90mins massage so she can really take the time to help you. She is better than most RMTs I had.

We’ve been here for massages 5 times and I’m looking forward to our next session in January. Steven worked on my wife last night and Jenny worked on me. Both were very good. In the past I’ve had Steven- 3 times- and my wife had Jenny and both of us felt like we’d had some of the best massages we’ve ever had. I think we’ll request Steven for me and Jenny for her next time.Don’t expect a fancy spa, but you will get a great massage and the people are quite nice.

One of the best massages Ive ever had. After a long day of exploring NY on foot we went for a 1/2 hour foot massage and it was so great that we booked a full massage for the day we were leaving just prior to our flight. David was my massage therapist and he was incredible. I love a strong massage and he definitley went deep but also knew when to pull back to relax the muscle before going in further - extremely intuitive. The place is simple, very clean and right off Time Square so couldnt be more convenient. This will definitley be a go to for me every time I visit NY. Thanks David!

Made appt, arrived 15 min later as I couldn’t find the place, and they said I was too late and gave my spot away without calling back to confirm, with poor attitude from masseuse screaming in the room saying I was late and don’t deserve it. I would have paid for my missed time, and was ok with cutting down the 1.5 hour to an hour. Unprofessional

This is first time in my American life I experienced that kind of attitude towards mandatory of 20% tips. Very disappointed with the attitude. Massage was ok.

This place was highly recommended, but I’m gonna have to say, from me, not so much. We were escorted down stairs to a basement room. Felt very sketchy, but we were like whatever. The two therapists argued in a different language for probably 20 minutes. Definitely not relaxing. No music was playing. I saw a roach crawl across the floor when I was dressing. Not to mention my therapist left the room 9 times during my massage time. And the time was not made up. I would have to say steer clear of this dive.

Ive been coming here every week for the past month. The full body massages are amazing for a cheap price! You cant go wrong with Candy or Jenny. I like to go for firm pressure, and these ladies are STRONG! They really know how to work all the kinks out of my back and shoulders.

Jessie is incredible. She is the only person I see in NYC and go to her at least once a week. She really takes her time and listens to me when I tell her what my needs are.

Very disappointed, I saw the raving reviews so I came here expecting a really great massage. Everything that happened was the exact opposite.We had called for an appointment at 6pm. The massage was 20 minutes later than the agreed upon time. We had to wait for previous customers to finish.Now, the actual massage. I had a 60 minute foot reflexology. I had a woman, she seemed to be the owner or something because she kept leaving the massage to answer the door and also talk to other employees. My massage was interrupted at least 5 times, it was really annoying. The pressure was horrible, I didn’t feel a thing. It was more like a soft surface rub than reflexology. She was also on her phone most of the time. Her phone kept ringing and she would answer it with one hand, completely distracted and not paying attention to the massage.I kept looking at my watch because this was the only time I wanted a massage to be over. I was uncomfortably hot, getting gently touched with oil by a woman who was constantly on her phone.Absolutely horrible.

Steven is extremely well-versed on foot reflexology, Chinese medicine, and is able to apply his strong theoretical foundation into real practice. He has more than 20 years of experience being a physical therapist and knows all the basics and often goes above and beyond from what was asked. Very patient and kind!!

I will not recommend this message center. Very disappointed and during the massage a male massager was keeping looking at me thought the gap of the door which make me extremely unconfortable. After I tipped the owner laughed at me and said ‘ just $$’ in Chinese without knowing I understand the language. I felt very rude and respectful! 😠

Candy is a great masseuse. She gets 5 stars for her professionalism and great work. Came with pain left with major relief. As someone who works out consistently having a body worker like Candy is super helpful for recovery.

The technique is good, pressure is good. The staff is not respectful when I requested female therapist. I end up getting a male therapist which I have to compromise. I didn’t like their attitude towards me. The male therapist was even questioning me whether I am lesbian just because I’ve requested a females therapist.

I feel like I got scammed out of not only my money but my time. Whatever you do, don’t get a massage from Emily. It felt like she was just rubbing my skin with no strength in her hands and using her forearms most of the time in quick strokes. ImIn addition to ignoring requests to go harder, she required tips from the other masseuse that was massaging my friend. Other masseuses I’ve tried here are great and can work out the many kinks of my body. My shoulders feel more tight coming out of this experience. Then to complain of a low tip after? They’re lucky they even got a tip (and payment) for that supreme waste of my time.

It is affordable for NYC; however, during your treatment, you hear everything going on-phone, customers coming in and out, the persons giving treatments took phone calls, and they kept going in and out of the treatment room. Its not a spa experience. When I paid in cash, they were very vocal about the tip. I tipped based on the experience.

Me and my wife scheduled a massage and we arrived at the time, the owner led us to the basement and told us to get dressed and she will be back in two minutesWe waited for a half an hour it was hot with no ac.When it started the massage was good but after when we went to pay she forced us to pay 20 precent tip

I cannot say enough good things about this place!First of all, I have noticed a significant improvement in my chronic back pain since starting to go for massages. Candy is absolutely incredible— she checks in and makes sure you are comfortable and that she isn’t applying too much pressure, which I really appreciate! An hour of body work does me wonders to smooth out all the stress and tension from a long week. I leave feeling like I’m melting every time!!Facility is impeccably clean; and all the staff is super friendly and does everything they can to make sure you’re comfortable. They even gave me a water bottle for the ride home! :)Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a massage— I truly look forward to coming in every time. :)

Great experience! Rubi was super welcoming and did an amazing job. It’s no frills, but that’s perfect! I got a 30min foot reflexology. Much needed after a weekend clubbing for my birthday. My poor feet needed it. They felt way better and ready for another night dancing. She had me sweatin’ but in a good way as my foot and leg muscles loosened up. The chair was super comfortable too. Clean space. All the soreness I came in with was gone and walked home feeling great. Will def be back.

The staff works hard to make sure all your sore, tired, knotty muscles are gone by the time you leave. Thank you Candy, Rubi, and Jenny! We left happy, beat up, and knot free .Small details: they do foot massages, but it’s not your typical foot massages place with lots of chairs lined up. It’s a small place with beds with curtains in between, focusing more on body massages.After finding them on google, three of us went in there for a foot massage, we left with whole body massage (they had no problem when we requested to change it, same price). They were really nice and accommodating. We made reservations and suggest you do the same, they do get busy.

Second time getting a couples massage here — We had Tom and Candy, both provided VERY deep tissue massages and were exactly the recharge we needed! Both check up on you throughout the massage so you can always ask them to go lighter if needed. Stay hydrated, you might be a little sore the next day!

Weve gone to Tang Dynasty Spa consistently for the past few months because its the best massage weve ever received. My partner and I do the couples massage, and we always request Rubi and Candy. The place is clean and peaceful, and the staff is accommodating, thoughtful and kind. Our experience is always an extraordinary one. We walk out floating, feeling refreshed and on a path to physical and mental healing. Were so lucky to have this spa in the neighborhood.

Steven saved my messed up neck and shoulders today, and also my beaten up legs. Im traveling to NYC and like any enthusiastic traveler im walking 30k steps a day and sleeping terribly on pillows and beds im not used to. Better still, my grid foam roller cant come with me, so I needed those knots and tension beaten out of me. Steven worked hard for 1 hour (I requested pressure mode = hard) and as I got talking to him I found out hes been a masseuse for 30 years and was a chinese doctor before that! He knew intuitively where I was stiff and hit the right points. It was a total steal at $55, and you also get some scrubbing with a hot towel. Right off of times square and unmissable if youre hanging around that eyesore of an area.

I was having foot pain and decided to try them. Candy, the masseuse was excellent. She was thorough, working diligently and strongly. My foot pain is gone! I intend to make visits to Tang Dynasty regularly. I strongly recommend them. You cant go wrong!

We called in the morning and they were able to accommodate us as a family of four. And while there, many people tried to walk in but it was busy. My recommendation is to call ahead. The massages were firm and thorough. Glad we went.

I have to go Tang Dynasty at least once a month. They are so professional & clean. Overall great people. Rubi is amazing, she is so knowledgeable and always gives me tips on stretches. She really works on your body, do note she is quite intense but your body really needs it. If you want something less intense request Candi or Julie who are also so great!

When we were paying tips, we got asked to pay more because were told that the masseuses get paid 10$ per hour 😳 we said that we already left tips (which was 10% because the massage was not great) and then the girl said: BUT I SEE THAT YOU HAVE YHE MONEY.We are really disappointed with the whole experience and would not recommend this place.

Was looking for a COVID testing next door and found this place. Stopped by for a 15-min massage and had a great relaxing experience! I was thinking it’s only gonna be back and neck, but my masseuse actually went all the way down my legs, and now my whole body feels relaxed!

Been going to this place for years. First time i came they cured my devastating headache. Its nothing fancy, but they get the job done. Think more pressure points and working out those knots, less relaxing spa day. Candy, Rubí and all other masseuses are fantastic.

Most therapeutic massage in all of NYC. I treated myself to a birthday massage and the quality of therapy at this place is top notch. The therapists do an excellent job of checking in throughout the session asking about pressure.The therapists here do an excellent job of moving energy. Anyone going to get a massage should educate themselves about the science of this form of therapy. Any bruising or pain is usually a sign of tension being relieved or stuck energy being moved.If you feel you are in need of alignment, book yourself a session and tip well to all small business recovering from the ongoing pandemic.

I went here for the rave reviews but honestly felt like the person was just lightly touching me and not actually massaging. I don’t normally write reviews but wanted people to know it didn’t live up to the reviews, which I was really disappointed by.

OK, I feel like the other reviews here might be fake.The massage itself was pretty good so if this review was just based on the skill of the masseuses I would give this place 4 stars. Its 2 stars because the facilities are pretty terrible. How terrible? Ill describe it so you can be well informed and decide for yourself.Its really small, and theres a basement that terrified me (more about that in a bit) when you come in theres a desk and 2 armchairs. These are the only 2 armchairs for footmassage in the place. Right next to the desk are 2? small massage rooms separated by curtains. There is also a stairs going down to a scary basement. When I went, the stairs were unlit so I actually walked down an dark staircase to a basement I couldnt see. It was so dark I couldnt actually see the bottom of the stairs at all until the light was turned on when I got to to the bottom. The basement itself looks like a rough unfinished basement with exposed piping. It was not clean. There were two massage beds in a dark corner, the beds were thin and stained. The cloth covering one of the beds was wet with some kind of liquid. The liquid was the last straw for me, Im not lying down on that. I apologized a lot and went back upstairs. Was going to leave but felt bad (I had an appointment to do a 1 hour massage and felt I had wasted their time) so ended up getting a foot massage at the chairs near the entrance. Again, the massage itself was good. There was no footbath or anything though. Just a massage with oil. Feel bad for the staff because the guy who massaged me was good, but the space theyre working in is really unfit for a massage place. I wouldnt go back

After walking around NY for 3 days this was the best thing ever! My feet were killing me and needed the 30 min massage! $25 for 30 mins was worth it!

This is the go-to massage shop in Midtown!I had a full-hour traditional Chinese Tuina massage from Rubi, who was extremely professional. The deep tissue and acupressure massage from her relieved my stress and backpain and helped me sleep deeply for the week. I feel my channels and meridians got opened up.Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for professional Chinese acupressure massage.

Rubi is exceptionally knowledgeable about her acupressure points! I have chronic foot pain/issues and outside of getting steroid injections in my feet, Rubi is the only person who’s consistently provided me with relief. While you may experience some discomfort while she’s work out knots in your muscles, it soon turns to relief.

AHHHH MAZING!Tom is an amazing masseuse, he got all the knots and if you like a DEEP TISSUE massage. This is the place. They know how to massage and I can’t wait to come back to it again

Got the $25 30 minute foot rub after a long day of walking. Definitely relieved all the pain. Well worth the value, they know how to hit all the muscle points, use oil, then end it with a warm towel. Definitely worth it
