Too overpriced for what it is. Went for a massage and facial ($660). Went earlier to use steam room, jacuzzi and cold shower which I always do before getting massages to get maximum benefits. However, the stream room barely had steam...just drops of water from ceiling hitting me. I mentioned this to someone in the locker roomwho said she will let someone know to fix it. No one came. Massage was mediocre...and she forgot to do the right side of my back...which i told her had lots of tension. ..until I reminded her. Really??? She was apologetic after the massage...what can I do...her 20% gratuity ($50 for this service) is automatically added to the bill. The tea lounge is not like other spas...meaning you cant serve yourself as you please with an assortment of teas. You get it if a staff member is around to get some for you and its only their signature tea (hibiscus blend, I believe). They do have jugs of water everywhere though. Decor could also be updated. Upon leaving, I told the front desk at the spa about the steam room...and a he said was that he was going to tell his manager. Overall, the only thing that MO spa is good at is the marketing. Dont be fooled and go somewhere else.
Pricey but good. The spa pool and sauna are lovely. I wish we could have access to the pool, though. Felt like that was implied on the website. Good deep tissue massage.
Always a lovely spa experience at the Spa @ MO! Their facials are great, as are the massages. Be sure to get there early to take advantage of their jacuzzi and steam room. The tea room is nice, but feels really exposed. The relaxation toons is super cosy, but they do need to keep on top of replenishing the snacks.
Unsatisfactory spa conditions: The spa was unclean, with floating debris visible on the waters surface (photos attached). Old cups and towels were scattered everywhere. They include gratuities in advance, even with this level of service. Customers who spent $300++ had limited access to the sauna and no access to the pool. The managements response to the provided evidence was indifferent. Not recommended.
Worst Spa Ever. I made an appointment a week ago. I received no reminder for the appointment on the day of the massage. Unfortunately, I got tested positive the day of the appointment and I forgot to cancel my appointment. I receive a phone call from the manager to tell me she will charge me the full massage price 260 USD for not canceling the massage. I tried to explain her the situation me being sick with Covid but we did not want to talk with me and was very rude, just arguing with me about the policy. Don’t go there. They do not respect customer even if you are sick. They just care about your money !!!
Sumptuous, luxurious indulgence. Perfect to treat yourself (*Mothers day is fast approaching) to treat your best girlfriend with. We started with champagne and melted into our massage tables. Pricey.. but a million percent worth it
The experience at Mandarain Oriental was exceptional! From the moment I arrived to sitting in the relaxation room after my spa - it was perfect! My massage therapist, Edyta, was fabulous!! I asked for a deep tissue massage and typically, I am disappointed when I travel as I have a really good massage therapist I see at home and Edyta did not disappoint!Afterwards, I was in a hurry to catch a flight or else I would have used all of the amenities but sat in the relaxation room for 30 minutes soaking up the view in the comfiest chairs!Id highly recommend Edyta and Mandarin for your next NYC massage!
Wow! My massage was everything I needed. The gentleman there doesn’t speak English but he uses his Google translator which makes it easy for discussing your preferences. There’s a lady there who speaks English and can help, if needed.I received my 60 min massage from the man and my boyfriend from the woman. The man does realllly good deep tissue but checks often to ensure you’re okay. I love deep tissue but if you need a more gentle experience my boyfriend told me the lady didn’t apply as much pressure… but overall a both were a great experience. My only surprise during the massage was my towel was removed beyond my bottom. I was fine and felt comfortable b/c I’ve received massages in Asia, but if this is not your preference please let them know.
I honestly cannot get over what I paid for a basic massage at the Mandarin Oriental Spa. It was well north of $200 and I didnt get any add-ons. The massage was good but it was not the best I have had in NY and certainly not worth the price. I did really like the water bath area with sauna, rain shower, and plunge pool. They also had a nice relaxation area for post massage where you could sit in comfy lounges with great views of the city while nibbling on healthy snacks. The experience was nice but I can get a better massage for a better value elsewhere.
The Mandarin Spa is a old, the amenities are dated, the manager is beyond offensive, the pricing is extraordinarily excessive relative to the quality of the service, and the “couples retreat” package is a waste of time. We’ve never seen a set of massage therapists that perfected the art of wasting time and manufacturing delays to minimize the amount of the service. And the foot ritual experience involves nothing more than the two therapists wrapping your feet in a towel, nothing more and nothing less. This was my birthday and my boyfriend was shocked at the lack of anything related to a “couples experience.” There were fake flowers in the treatment room and there was not even the thought of a glass of champagne after the treatment even thought it was requested twice beforehand. This spa is a waste of time and money. The spa at the Peninsula Hotel New York is better value, the customer service is more considerate, and the amenities are much more refined.
I am reflecting on this experience today and have to say for the money, over $400 including tip that they add into the bill for you for 80 min massage, I am very disappointed. The physical space is beautiful but the massage was mediocre. I had a $30 massage last week in Chinatown and it was better. Don’t waste your money.
Hardware and ambiance for a five star as expected but the software as for the staff assistance and attitude very aloof and disappointing. Foremost booked a massage for 80 minutes only to find that the technique n attitude left me wanting to end it early. If you pay over 300.00 it would only be right to get the quality of massage expected. It was not and the massage therapist was rude and worst massage ever. I ended it early. When I looked for staff to assist they noted that after 9 they dont answer phones or tend to issues. The peninsula in New York beats this spa by quite a bit!!!
Will definitely be returning. Kathy was an absolute gem! Fantastic massage, and all around great person. Feel blessed for the experience.
Was treated to a day of Spa, I was certainly in heaven. One of the best massages I ever got. Did sauna and soaks overlooking central park - you cant beat that. Pricey, but worth the special TLC every now and then
I had the best treatment with Missy, I ever experienced. The 1.50 Time Rituals has been really relaxing.
Cleanest fitness center in any Hotel Ive ever visited. They do require vaccine pass for access. Only guests and residents are allowed access, the team is very strict about policies.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental is the ultimate in relaxation. The atmosphere is so serene and tranquil-the mood is set with warm burning oils and egyptian cotton robes and slippers are a nice touch. The natures radiant facial literally emptied my pores. I look forward to my next spa day.
If you are stressed, this is a geat place to relax. Take advantage of the meditation sessions, it is worth it. The customer service is helpful but make sure you understand the prices and individual prices before booking ahead of time.
Amazing views accompany your spa. The massages are great. I have heard the facials are good too. The location is very convenient. But its quite expensive.
I really love to pamper myself from stressful days from work. I love the service here because it has what I like to avail on my relaxing day. Good service and friendly staff.
Very nice place, but make sure to get your prices in writing before, as we called in for a couples massage, and they quoted us a price, when we finished they charged us double, saying that price quoted was for individual, the guy we spoke on tge phone, supposedly had left, and they claim guys name was Kevin, this is totally unprofessional, when asking for a couple treatment, total price should be quoted, would of returned to this place again, but not after feeling that place intentionally tried lurking you in.
Great service !!! Would come back here again. The best working person there is Patricia. If I needed any help or question she will answer is a positive and great attitude. Will go back there for sure.
Beautiful setting. Unbelievably serene. The facial I had was incredible.
100% Amazing, loved every minute of it. Total relaxation, left refreshed.

Love the place, very relaxing.
Due to the nature of my job, which is dense and tiring, I often look for new spas to go to in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City - I have to travel quite a lot. My partner introduced me to this spa and said it was very good, so I went with her to try it. Indeed, ocean spa is very different from other spas I have been to. It is a cozy space that creates a feeling of relaxation from the moment you enter. I like it and am very satisfied. Going to the spa is mainly about relaxation, so I only took one photo, not many. The staff here are very polite and tactful, I really like this point
😔😅
Beautiful and small complex
