Came here on the recommendation of one of my best friends and I’m so glad I finally ventured out! Came on a Sunday for trivia and had so much fun! The trivia host was funny and engaging, the bartender was energetic and made me a delicious drink AND I tried the hot dogs they serve and they were so tasty! Definitely found my new favorite bar in CT! Can’t wait to come back and catch a drag show.

This place is always a good time! There are drag shows, karaoke nights and dancing! The staff and drag queens are always nice and are greeting ppl as they walk in!! Love this place! There are several bathrooms available and they’re always clean!! The night I went to Troupe429 with a group for friends we had a wonderful time with a drag queen By the name of Summer Haze and she performs every Thursday! She was so kind, so much fun and super gorgeous! I will def be back for a Thursday and check out there weekend and Weekly events!

LOVE Troupe! Not only is the atmosphere so artsy and welcoming, but the staff makes you even more at peace! Christian makes THE best espresso martini! They taste like Java chip traps from Starbucks! Casey is one of the nicest people ever! It is such a great vibe!On top of that, I am a singer / performer and let me tell you, the kareoke is insane! I sang and danced all night. I did not want to leave and can’t wait to go back!This place is a hidden gem and I am so happy I found it!

I absolutely LOVE Troupe429 and consider myself lucky to live nearby. From drag shows to Britmas, to trivia nights and karaoke, there’s something for everyone here. It’s always a great time! I couldn’t recommend it more! :)

LOVE this place. I’m newer to the area and ventured here on my own - was met with the best atmosphere, kindest staff EVER, and just all around good people. The drag queens absolutely slayed. The whole space felt very safe and comfortable to just have fun and be yourself. By the end of the night everyone was dancing all together. 10/10 recommend! Will be back for sure!

I came here for the first time over the weekend and can’t wait to come back again. We celebrated our friends birthday and we had the best time including a Drag Queen birthday shoutout, the BEST DJ and music and an awesome bar scene that was very reasonably priced. We want to bring all our birthdays here now.

Love this bar. They are always playing great music & having fun events like drag competitions. The drinks are very affordable and even have great sober friendly options. I once got a cbd cocktail and it was amazing. It is also very clean inside!

The owners are amazing. It’s a great vibe with lots of great events (drag shows, Britmas, etc). We love Sunday trivia at Troupe!

Came here for the monthly drag brunch and it was such a fun time. One of the better drag brunches I’ve gone to— there was a wide range of delicious brunch food, the energy was super hype and welcoming, and the drag queens were fabulous. Looking forward to going back for another drag brunch or burlesque show.

Amazing bar! Karaoke night is my favorite night here, every Wednesday, fun in a way you would only get at a gay bar! Chris is an amazing host and really gets the bar excited for each singer. Sunday is trivia at 7:30, hosted by Nico Rico! A great community space, with familiar faces and regulars who will always make you feel at home. All are welcome here, come here and be yourself. Even better if you come here with friends!

I came to Troupe 429 as a drag frequenter and was blown away by the experience. The owners put such care and intention into the shows and establishment. Sienna hosted the show and Buttakup preformed, the talent was incredible, I cannot wait to come back! They took amazing care of the girls, the decorations were on point (portraits of 12 queer icons behind the bar?!CMON!), the environment was safe, they offer free condoms, the staff is very attentive without being intrusive, and the bathrooms were consistently clean. The 3 hr drive it took to get to Troupe was worth every minute of traffic and road construction. Troupe 429 is THEE place to BE in CT

I absolutely love this place... Every Wednesday is Karaoke night. The crowd is always super cool and encouraging. The drinks are reasonably priced and the bar staff and owners are the best! If your looking for somewhere to go that’s not too far, always fun and inexpensive, Troupe is a the place for you!!!

Troupe429 is the only reason I would ever leave NYC for CT!This past weekend was my first time here and I was so tickled by all the disco balls, welcoming vibes, and beautiful people. Britmas in July was the event being held; Britney was played ALL NIGHT along with performances by the lovely and talented Sienna Rose (Official!).The bar is spacious enough with a separate room featuring a dance floor and small stage for performers. There is also a Wizard of Oz pinball machine (very cool) and Mario Kart for any gamers interested (also cool). When we got too hot from dancing the night away, we were able to take a break outside at one of the picnic tables set up outside for some fresh air.I have to compliment the staff for their attentiveness as well; everyone I engaged with was super sweet and I personally witnessed the dance floor area being cleaned multiple times throughout the night to ensure no slips occurred. Bathrooms were cleanly, also.My drinks were delish and they are certainly not light-handed with the booze. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a good time and to dance to your hearts content

Troupe is an awesome bar and community space. Scandalous Saturdays burlesque was one of the BEST burlesque shows I’ve been to, with a diverse cast and a clearly devoted crowd of regulars. The DJ was great, and the non alcoholic drink options really impressed me. Wish I lived closer, I’d be there weekly for karaoke and all of the amazing drag shows they’re know for.

We had a blast!! The scandalous burlesque night was truly wonderful. We loved how intimate the space was. The burlesque dancers were talented and sexy! I will definitely be returning, drinks were great too! Bathroom was very clean and the bartenders were awesome! DJ was fun played good tracks. Thank you for bringing the vibes. What a great bar! I loved the margaritas - but if thats not your thing their full bar definitely has something for you. It has a great atmosphere, so welcoming - and the staff are great. Love the music and pop culture references throughout the bar. Cant wait to go back.

This place is awesome! I visited for my first time last week for the Scandalous Saturday monthly burlesque show, and I was blown away. Every performer rocked the stage, and even had the entire crowd singing Firework together in harmony. The DJ was amazing and can really get the crowd rocking! I posted a picture of the stage pre show, look at the amazing lights!The bar itself is clean, inviting and has something for everyone! Are you into books? Wanna play Mario Kart 64? Watch Drag Race with a community? Catch a sensual and funny burlesque show? Or maybe just get a drink in a clean, welcoming environment? Then this is the place for you. It’s certainly the place for me and I’m looking forward to coming back!

Absolutely loved it here, everyone is so kind. Bartender is incredibly nice. Best bar experience in my life. I feel so safe and accepted. Games are very fun too.Update!!! This was our first time at Troupe 429 and it was amazing! We will definitely be back. The bartender John was super friendly and welcoming. Everyone we met felt like family including John & Javier. The performers were not only incredibly TALENTED, they were also so personable throughout the entire performance & interacted with their audience in such a fun and genuine way. Ive gone to this establishment twice now, during Halloweekend and for Scandalous Saturday Burlesque! Both nights were fantastic! The performers are always amazing to watch!!!! Troupe429 is my absolute favorite bar! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and lovely. We love karaoke on Wednesdays, Sienna Says on Fridays, and trivia on Sundays. I feel comfortable and accepted at Troupe and genuinely love the vibes.

This was my first time visiting CT as a whole, and Troupe 429 couldn’t have made a better first impression! The owners are absolutely amazing, and genuinely care about their establishment and everyone inside. The atmosphere is accepting and upbeat, thanks to the incredible DJ (@heynicorico), who kept the party going even when performances weren’t happening. Not to mention the Amazing Drag performers, (@SiennaRoseOfficial & @ayobuttakup), between the hilarious banter on the mic, the gorgeous looks the put together, and the overall talent the brought to the stage was unbeatable. This was bar far my FAVORITE bar/club that I’ve ever been to, and I can not wait to come back! Thank You!

This venue is truly incredible! The burlesque show is so much fun, and the environment is really inviting. I haven’t gotten the opportunity to go out and enjoy myself in a really long time, and this was the perfect way to do that. Isaiah was phenomenal. Went for karaoke tonight, they do it every Wednesday and the vibes are always to warm and excited and positive. My favorite bartender worked tonight, Isaiah consistently kills it and it a joy; the other staff memember are superb as well. 10/20 recommend ANY DAY.

Had a great time watching Ariel Versace dominate the stage at Troupe429! Such lively and friendly customer service from the bartender and they did a thorough and thoughtful job of providing COVID-conscientious live entertainment. I would highly recommend watching a drag show here while having a couple colorful and delicious cocktails!

What a fun spot! I went to see the Tina Burner show last night and it was absolutely fabulous. Tina is so funny, talented, super sharp and just a great performer, what a treat. This place has incredible energy, bartender was super attentive and friendly, and the drinks were spot on. Loved meeting the owner Casey and all the regulars, just the absolute nicest peeps. Total gem!

I had the most amazing time at Scandalous Saturdays Burlesque! It’s a truly unique experience that we’re so lucky to have in our beautiful city! The talent is out of this world! Did I mention I had the time of my life?!The service is exceptional as well - my phone died and I needed change and the bartender saved the day!I had the Glamizon and the frozen Pink Lady and both were delicious too!

I have no idea why u think ur addressing a situation from my personal life, but that’s also harassment. Well here’s a fun fact, I work for the FDA, and it’s illegal to not give ur patrons water. After Covid you think people are going to drink out of a trash cooler… I noted 20 fines and will be reporting then tomorrow to my boss.. So an inspector will be coming there shortly. I never harassed a single employee. And I have 6 witnesses that agree with my claim. Ban me?? I wouldn’t come back there if I was paid too. Worst gay bar in CT. So again,

A group of my girlfriends and I went out last Friday and were able to watch a wonderful drag show and had a wonderful time with a great environment. Drinks were delicious and fairly priced. Bartenders had amazing customer service and I never had to wave anyone over as they were always looking out for me. Will be back again!

The experience at Troupe429 is salient when compared to venues of any kind, e.g. bars, clubs, restaurants, your friends’ house party.Troupe429 stands out not because it exceeds all of one’s usual expectations, but I’d be leaving out a lot if I didn’t at least quickly describe why your expectations will be blown away —The aesthetics are particular and curated, making you feel like you’re in a uniquely modern disco with stiff drinks where you can buy records, appreciate not so random artistic pieces, and let loose dancing. The music for said dance is in the same vein, perfect, and yet, surprising at times to keep you and your party on your toes. The locale you meet are (hate to use this term) *real*, and you can have genuine interactions that will hit different than other nights our.But — on to the real reason why it’s a place worth frequenting — the staff is the best.Quick anecdote — a friend and I went randomly, and we were blown away by a waiter we had who was inexplicably attentive (we were like, doesn’t he also have others to serve? He did and was just super efficient and hospitable). Halfway through our stay and unprompted he came to our table with a tray of snacks that I would describe as 90’s Nostalgic: Rice Krispie treats, fruit by the foot, et. al. They were free and just a fun flourish to the whole thing.We were having such a good time we unintentionally stayed until close at which point we noticed our waiter orchestrating the closing which struck us as odd. Overhearing a regular, our waiter Casey was actually the owner. He never made it known; he just made us, and I’m sure everyone else, feel safe and welcomed and appropriately lubricated.Troupe429 is a place I’ll forever recommend simply because I’ll be there myself, tearing it up, and would benefit from / would love to meet more of you savages, during this time where we need community more than ever.In fact, ordering my Uber now.

This bar was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of work. We walked around to a few local spots that ended up either being closed or dead for happy hour. I’m so happy to have walked into Troupe! The bar staff was so engaging and helpful, it made it such a fun time for us. It was so fun to walk into a random bar on a snowy Tuesday and have a Saturday experience! So fun. Go. 😊

This is the first LGBTQ bar that I’ve seen with an AWESOME craft beer list!! (Did I mention they have Sip of Sunshine as one of their regulars!?) As a craft beer lover it’s very rare to find an LGBTQ bar who carries the variety that Troupe429 does! Not to mention their bartenders are some of the COOLEST people I’ve met!!The venue itself is super clean and well kept and the decor couldn’t be more on point!!Incredibly welcoming environment! I’ve made SO many friends just talking to and meeting new people there.No matter what night you stop by you’ll be sure to have a blast as they have SO many themed nights to attend all week long!! (If you’re into acoustic guitar stop by on Friday and listen to Ivy perform, you won’t be disappointed!)You can tell these guys have put A LOT of work and love into making this bar AMAZING! The vibe is chill and laid back and as the night progresses it’s a totally SWEET club with a fun DJ who spins all my favorites! If you’re looking to have a BLAST with friends or a good spot for a chill happy hour, I would 100% recommend Troupe429!

Love Troupe429! I visited to attend Scandalous Saturdays, a regular burlesque showcase in the space, and was blown away. The show was incredible; full of queer joy, beauty and talent. Clearly cultivated with deep care. Afterwards there was an amazing dance party with great live drag performance. This spot is definitely a gem - a homey atmosphere that felt both safe and sexy. Highly recommend!

I came to Troupe429 for the first time this past Saturday as a performer for the monthly Scandalous Saturdays Burlesque show ( Thank you Professor M!). & BOY was it a GREAT time! The bar was a decent size with friendly bartenders, amazing (& sexy) people with good energy, and a lovely & colorful decor.I was very impressed by all the talent Scandalous Saturdays brought together & just the overall feeling that night had. You could tell that both the bar owners and the producers of the Burlesque show really have worked hard to make this space a beautiful, open, & positive place. The only small drawback was the dressing room was really cold that night. But they made sure we were taken care of so I was really satisfied. Def looking forward to coming back & visiting when Im in the area & I REALLY RECCOMEND you check both the Bar & the Burlesque Show out.... Multiple Times lol! 😁

Troupe429 is so welcoming and the space has such a great design. The drinks are really good, the owners are true community leaders, the staff is awesome and the overall vibe is more like a clubhouse, rather than your average bar or club. The karaoke night is my fave and I miss the live performances as well. Their pivot to being a record shop is brilliant.

One of the best bars I’ve been to in a long time. The bartenders are amazing; funny and attentive. The space is well designed with a large bar and plenty of room to get your dance on. Did I mention multiple disco balls?! Pours were perfect and music was legit. Will definitely be coming here again.

The owner Kasey and his partner have always gone out of their way to make sure everyone feels welcome and is having a great time. The drinks, bomb. I don’t even like vodka but Dante made me one of their signature drinks and it was delicious. The over all atmosphere is fun and bright and just designed in such a cool way. They even had a little video game set up. I’ve walked in early in the night with one or two friends before and it was still a great time because of how genuinely amazing the staff and owners are. I recommend troupe to all me friends. After finding out they have vinyls for sale and some sort of drink options I’m excited to come back! It’s such a staple for the community and I encourage everyone to support this wonderful place. It’s not just a bar it’s a safe haven and they’ve done community events! Nice space, cool environment and friendly staff! Very much a safe queer space. Went to an awesome drag show. Shocked at the reviews saying the drinks are reasonably priced though, they’re pretty pricey for basic cocktails. I’d recommend this place after you’ve pre-gamed elsewhere!

As both a performer and a customer I can say that Troupe 429 is a great place to be. It has the most lively, supportive audiences in the tri-state area. Friendly , safe space for all. Drinks are delicious. The Scandalous Saturdays monthly Burlesque show is the place to be.

Husband and I have been going to Troupe since the beginning, always a great experience. I happen to be married to a record collector and had to check out the new expansion to record store. It was so cool, great selection, bought a couple records then had one of their specialty cocktails. Of note, as a beer enthusiast I can say they have a good selection and a good IPA on tap. Great vibes and personable staff. Also I felt very “safe” as everyone was wearing masks, it was clean, and people gave each other space. Cant wait to go back and buy more records.

Much more than a bar, it is a community; always a great time. Please be sure to go out and support this fantastic establishment—especially now! It is the only gay-owned LGBTQ bar in Fairfield County and we are so glad to have it here in Norwalk. And there is always something going on! The owners are super creative with performers and theme nights, and have even turned the dance floor into a record store during the pandemic so they can open their doors and continue to give us a place to go now that we can finally get out of the house a bit. My wife and I have been to Troupe429 a handful of times for the monthly burlesque show and a few other events. Every single time we have an absolute blast. The energy is welcoming and invigorating, and the crowd cant be beat! Anyone and everyone would have a fun night out here.

My husband and I are really happy to have found this spot in Norwalk. What excites me the most is the happy hour drink specials which means more drinks for me! They recently added vinyl record collections you can purchase IN THEIR BAR which excites my husband since he loves collecting vinyl records. How cool is that? We definitely recommend Troupe429! If you are in the city take a short train ride and have some sense of normalcy during this time.

My first and only lgbt bar experience! It was a very welcoming place 💖! I had no friend to come with me to the bar, so I stepped out of my comfort zone and came solo. Im not sure what the bat tenders name was, but they were the first to interact with me, and that made me comfortable enough to seek out solo people to talk and hang with.

I love Troupe429! I went for the first time to see Shuga Cain and was blown away by every aspect of this bar. The staff was amazing and you can see they love their customers, which they have named their Troupers. The place was packed as much as COVID would allow and the staff knew almost every person that walked in the bar. If they didnt know someone, they asked if they were visiting or local. If they were locals, they made it a point to get them to come back. If they were visiting, they made sure they had a great time. The layout is great and I personally love that there is a record store on-site. I could go on and on about this place but props to the owners for creating this amazing Queer space and bringing in the most amazing talent.

Have lived in CT for two years now and have been coming to troupe since I’ve lived here. The entire staff of troupe429 does so much for the gay community in Connecticut. We love this place so much. Will continue to come here for years to come

I’m very happy there’s such an awesome gay/LGBT bar like this in Fairfield County. Troupe is an incredibly warm space with a community feel. I recently moved back to CT, and Troupe has made me feel welcome. I’ve met a lot of new, quality friends here (and some cute guys as well). ;-)From the exposed brick to the scenic paintings (check out the beautiful nature murals in the front and back bathrooms!), the decor is creative, unique, and tactful. Unlike other bars, Troupe is well maintained and kept quite clean. You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in the establishment. The drinks are reasonably priced, the pours are generous, and the bartenders/staff are friendly and unpretentious.Troupe holds events every night of the week (karaoke night on Wednesday’s is my favorite), which is something to look forward to if you want to unwind after a stressful workday. There’s also a dance floor (with live DJ on the weekends) — this place really has something for everyone. If you couldn’t tell, I really enjoy it here, which isn’t surprising since most people do! :-D

I had a blast performing here as Matt Knife. I was doing Professor Ms burlesque show. The staff was very accommodating to us. The dressing room (wait... they have a real dressing room?!) Was clean, well lit and had an adorable social media ready space to take photos. The stage was also perfect. The vibe was inclusive and the event attracted a diverse range of queer and alternative people. It reminded me of how great bars outside of NYC can me. Friendly people, room to dance and people actually dancing (not standing around in thier phones being judgemental). If you live in the area or passing through check this place out!

Ugh where do I start!?The space itself is beautiful and comfortable, you dont feel like you have to be really cool to be there. You just feel welcome! The staff are friendly and want to get to know you rather than just feel obliged to greet you.Theres a ridiculous amount of drinks available, and wine on tap!No sign of sticky floors in sight but all the vibe of a Friday/Saturday gay bar in the city!Most importantly its completely inclusive and feels thats way, wish I could take it back with me to London and have one here, Id never leave!

Troupe429 is one of the best cocktail lounge and record stores in Connecticut! I love that it’s near me in Norwalk. Very welcoming! They have craft signature cocktails on tap and thousands of classic and new vinyls to buy. Even a great selection of quality titles in a $5 and under bin. A must visit for a fun night out and great additions to my record collection!

My favorite bar in Norwalk hands down. This is actually the first LGBT bar my friend and I have been too, and it is amazing! The atmosphere is fun and the staff are all really friendly and the drink selection is great too! Everytime my friend and I go we have a great time, whether it’s going to hang out or going to dance!

Great atmosphere, drinks, and entertainment! It’s been great having an LGBTQ bar in the area. The staff are all very nice and have been exceptional accommodating for COVID-19 requirements. Have mostly gone for RuPaul viewings but hope to frequent more often especially when it can open up more!

This place has been a great safe place to go! There aren’t many places in the area where LGBTQ and allies can come together. I ran in to the owners at Home Depot after things started to open up in the summer and they were so friendly to me and my dog who I brought to socialize. All around great place.

Troupe429 is modern, clean, and lively. Unlike some other queer spaces in CT, its not seedy, dank, or musty; the bathrooms are presentable; theres a great weekly schedule; they feature some of the best drag artists; and the space is immaculately curated with paintings by local queer talent along with other works of art. This place is the cream of the crop.

Best drag brunch in CT!

Came here last weekend for the first time after a show at the Palace Theater. It was such a great time! The place is beautiful, and the staff & patrons were a blast! I left my credit card there by accident (thanks to one too many cosmos...) they were nice enough to send it in the mail minutes after emailing them and requesting it since I live out of state. Looking forward to coming back soon!!! Cant say enough good things about this place!

Wow!!! I do not walk into a bar and feel comfortable....that being said...I walked into this bar and I was so comfortable never for a single moment felt judged or singled out. The staff was very professional, kind and attentive. I inquired about the name and the decor and what a wonderful story about how this place was started....I live about an hour and a half away from Troupe429 but I would rather be here than somewhere close to home. They are so welcoming to everyone that enters. If you have not gone, please give this place a try....you will wonder why you have not been before and I guarantee you will return.

I cant adequately express how much I love this place. It really is a community and is such an invaluable space to have in the southern Fairfield County area.I first started going to their Drag Race watch parties (season 11) and was hooked. Such a fun atmosphere, the queens are all hilarious and so talented, DJs, jukebox, Mario Kart, beer pong, giant Jenga, corn hole, a GIANT Moscow Mule mug, stage...it goes on and on!Theyve converted half the space (what was the dance floor) to a record shop so they can stay open during the COVID pandemic -- which is GENIUS! I tell everyone I know about Troupe (and drag them there with me as often as possible) -- LGBTQ or otherwise -- and I would gladly give ALL my dollars to support them & make sure they survive this wild pandemic!

I checked out this bar for the first time last night, and now I know what Ive been missing from my life for the past few months. Its a great bar--very cool aesthetic and vibe--but its an even more important community space. It provides a safe and inclusive environment for all people, regardless of how you identify. Theres historically a void in southwestern Connecticut when it comes to LGBTQ spaces, and Im so glad this place exists

I love this bar because it is one of the only places I can go in my area, and actually be myself. The atmosphere is very nice with an area to dance and an area to sit; There is a wide selection of beverages at a very good price. The bar is very clean and the staff is always super friendly. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already.

Troupe429 was suggested by a friend to have my wife’s 50th birthday. I thought it was a great idea. Turned out to be an amazing idea. We had so much fun. The owner Casey was great. We had so much fun dancing all night.

Troupe429 is full of friends that you havent met yet. Everyone is there to have a good time with each other, and the owners clearly care about every patron. They have now converted the dance floor into a record store, and it is chock-full of all kinds of records – from old Streisand to the newest releases. And they are selling them at the lowest prices possible. Troupe is my happy place!

Unfamiliar with this bar before tonight- I ended up here on a very snowy Tuesday night. All of my go-to downtown Norwalk spots were disappointingly closed and my friend recommended his favorite local gay bar. I was expecting to sit down for a drink or two and head home for the night. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised with an expansive beer menu (as a beer fanatic this was a huge) and was even more engaged by the extremely friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. If youre looking to have a great time, this is the place to be. I walked through the snow to find a fun spot and Troupe429 did not disappoint - it far exceeded expectations. Even on a night when the entire city of Norwalk was seemingly dead, Troupe429 Wall Street was the place to be!

My first time in Connecticut from Harrisburg Pennsylvania and there just isn’t enough time to type all of the wonderful, amazing things I have to say about the establishment and the employee. In my lifetime; I can’t remember a moment where I’ve been treated with the utmost respect and hospitality that I received with my first foot in the door. Conversations and connections were made from the moment I walked through the door. Recommend 100% to anyone and everyone who is visiting Connecticut. If you don’t know; now you know. PERIOD
