Simply Green Day Spa

I’ve been to Simply Green a number of times over the past 10 years. I enjoy the customer service, the vegan spa products, and the convenience of having this location in my neighborhood.I went yesterday for a long overdue 2 hour massage. Lychee really took care of me. I highly recommend Simply Green Day Spa for all of your nail care, waxing, and massage needs.

I vote this establishment the best in Oakland for a number reasons: offer a wide variety of services, very friendly staff, clean space, offer membership which is great if you do multiple services in a year especially facials or massages, and a decent price point. Highly recommend. The staff continues to wear masks.

Leland is fantastic. I booked a combo reflexology and full body massage and it was great. This was a fairly intense massage, some of it fast moving, and fairly deep. Leland does a great job of addressing the side body, which often seems like an afterthought. He really treats the body as a united thing, nor a collection of parts. I booked another session before I left.

New customer to this business had my third visit today, Friday, June 21st.They’ve been around for a while and I decided I would give them a try. As with any spa salon, your services are only as good as the technician that provides that service to you. So far, it’s been manicures pedicures, next will likely be reflexology and waxing services. The location is convenient and the staff are friendly.

First time I went, I was so pleased with my gel pedicure. I’m picky and like it to be perfect, and it’s hard to find a salon that can do an amazing job consistently. Unfortunately, I’ll have to find another salon, as the last couple times I wasn’t happy with my $66 gel pedicure (not including tip). For that price, I think I can be a little more than picky.

Excellent customer service here and it’s so comfortable and relaxing. A lot of work went into this pedicure- my feet look and feel amazing. Great prices too

I had the most wonderful experience! It was my first experience there and got a regular facial for sensitive skin. I believe my technician’s name is Tiffany- many apologies if I got that wrong!!She was very gentle and kind. Asked many times if my skin felt better okay. As a masque-all eminence products-set, she massaged my hands, later, my neck, etc.My skin never felt better and I have reactive skin.Thank you so much!!

Great little spa in downtown Oakland. I was able to book an appointment the same day and they were very accommodating. The owner Kenneth is super friendly and nice. The spa was very relaxing and enjoyable. They use organic and natural products so it doesn’t smell like other nail salons. My spa pedicure was just perfect.

(Do not know the names of the technicians as they don’t wear name tags and English is not their first language so I couldn’t ask.)The person who did my pedicure did an amazing job and was very efficient and professional.The person who did my manicure used some old base coat that was dry and clearly no longer usable. She also didn’t clean off my previous nail polish completely and when I let her know, she started scraping it off using a tool instead of using acetone. Language barrier was clearly an issue but it was just strange to me that her process was so off. It was my first time at this salon and while it was generally a relaxing experience, I feel the owner/manager should train the staff appropriately and also ensure that all the materials they are using are viable and still ok to use on customer. My nails were looking all crusty after one base coat and the technician still thought it was ok to keep using it.Probably won’t come back.

Simply green is by far the best spa for nail care in the Oakland area. I have been a customer for the the last 10 years and I have never been disappointed with any of the services provided. The staff is welcoming and kind. I give this place a 10/10! ❤️

After taking a late appointment for mani/pedi I was rushed to leave. All the staff were very irritated that I needed to stay to dry my toes. I did not receive the upgraded services I paid for and when bringing it to their attention they talked poorly about me in their foreign language. I have never received a spa manicure with no cream or oil or no massage. The lady Tiffany is awful, mean, and rude and have always been. The owner is typically nice but this visit treated me awful when I explained I wasn’t happy with the service and steps were skipped, no acknowledgment at all. I’ve been a long time customer for several years I was very hurt by the way I was treated. I will not be returning or sending anymore referrals.

Worst pedicure Ive ever gotten. My nails were filed unevenly and the polish was clumpy. Excess polish all over my skin and cuticles and the tech did not even attempt to clean them up. She also cut my skin on of my toes. I paid 50 dollars with a 20 percent tip for an absolutely awful pedicure that will need to be fixed. Also, no massage chairs if you care about that. I will not go back or recommend to friends and family.

Walked in around 3:30pm on a Friday, after asking if there is any availability for a pedicure I was told the wait would be about 15 mins but was actually accommodated right away! My lucky day as I noticed the salon was busy with what seemed like regulars. I was offered tea/water while my feet soaked.From where I sat I noticed the machine they use to sanitize the tools which is absolutely necessary and greatly appreciated.I was in need of a pedicure as two ingrowns were bothering me and My took care of me well :) she removed the painful ingrowns with precision and care with little-to-no pain :) Amazing! I will return here for the competent nail techs and friendly service :)

I went yesterday for manicure. They said they dont do acrylic. So I did nail extension with gel polish. The guy charged me $78 and I left $20 tip for the lady. $100 for nothing. Also I was very surprised, coz I never paid that amount for nail extension only. I could buy a nail for less than $10 and do it myself. Look after 24 hour before the wedding party the nail falls off. Its very annoying. I will never recommended this place for anyone.Again on the second day three nails fall off.

1st time visiting, I had a 100.00 gift card. And still had to paid 128. More. Total 228. Not including tip. CBD was great.I was sorry that I didnt, tell them that I had dip powder on my nails originally.It took 2 hrs for my nails. The colors I pick was switch. But it was ok. I may visit again next Sunday. Over all great job...

Everyone is professional. Technicians are precise and thorough. The stations are clean. Love the organic nail polish and the nail polish colors. Music level is relaxing. The green and purple color scheme is cute. Message chairs would add to the calm atmosphere.

AMAZING they were so so sweet and did an incredible job.

Honestly wasn’t awful service until the end. I was asked how much tip when I had a facial and a manicure. I said $10 for manicure and $15 for my facial for the tip. I was charged $50 and $10 for the tips so $60 total instead of $30. I realized this a bit after as my total was $213 coming out when it should not have been that much at all. They even called me to verify after because one of the people spoke up and was like I don’t think she meant that. They told me they would reverse the $30 and put it back but it’s been almost a month now so I assume it’s just never coming. Won’t be returning as I was literally stolen from bc like who calls to own up to their “mistake” then doesn’t fix it.

This is my go to spa for nails and massage. The staff is friendly and capable. I’ve been going there since it opened and I will continue to do so for as long as I can!

First experience did not disappoint - spa mani pedi was an efficient and luxurious service for the price point. Spa was busy but I did not feel cramped or rushed. I will definitely be back!

I just moved to Oakland and needed to find that “forever salon”. I came today for the first time and I loved it! The staff are very attentive, the armchairs very comfortable and the atmosphere very cozy. I loved the vibe that this salon transmits! My manicurist took care of my feet with great care and attention. I got a massage at the end which was amazing.

I love the moral and all the happy workers. Stress free coming here. Makes me want to keep coming. My facials with My has always been very relaxing and walking out after a facial makes me feel refreshed! Pedicure always a different person doesn’t matter who it is. Always get superior service and attention. I think I am already addicted because my it’s my 3rd visit and I keep coming back for more. Don’t forget the front desk person Lawrence , he is a hoot to talk to. Always friendly and shares his experiences which gets me laughing every time.

Simply Green Day Spa is THE BEST EVER to go to get your nails done. I am a man and I go and get my hands and feet done. For my job it’s nice to have nice looking hands and I like to wear sandals a lot when I’m off from work and not having bad looking feet. Tiffany is the one I go to and she does a fantastic job. Any time I have a family member’s here in town that is the place I take my family and they all love it as well.

Mani/Pedi was okay, probably the best service I received. However, they did 4-5 coats of the gel polish which creates a “bubble” effect.Massage was again, okay. A lot of squeezing and “pinching” and not a lot of actual massaging.Facial was the worst. No real extractions, just put a lot of products on my face. The most important part here is this: they massaged my feet and then continued the facial, WITHOUT, cleaning their hands.On top of all this, my car got broken into right outside the door of the spa. Just not a safe area. Proceed with caution.

My go to for a relaxing moment! Quiet and friendly, you can sit back and relax. They give an excellent mani pedi too!

Ive been a member here for about 7 years and keep coming back for more. They have really talented and friendly technicians. The membership is great if you get a certain amount of services per year... its like $100 and it gets you about $30 off the *major* services like massages and facials. So if you get 3-4 or more of those per year then youre getting your moneys worth. Plus then if you add on the other services like nails and brows its all just gravy back to you.Booking is a snap and now they send you reminders too, which is awesome. I dont care that they dont have the massage chairs, you dont notice once youre getting a great service.The hidden gem here that I die for is the reflexology massages. Its a steal of a price with the membership and honestly getting a foot/leg massage with acupressure had me asleep and drooling the first time. Its so worth it.

A fast and attentive experience. Really impressed with the organization of the space. Everyone there felt seen and part of a village. A little nail parlor community/salon. Great prices as well. Thank you! Coming back soon!

This was my first time at Simply Green, the environment is very relaxing and cozy. I got a hot stone pedicure which was very nice, and a gel manicure. My paint job was just ok, next time I might just do no polish. My overall experience was lovely, I would like to go back and try one of their massages.

I had a great massage with Lychie. The problem was the curtain to the room fell down in last half hour of the massage. Folks tried to be quiet reinstalling it but the whole thing was a disappointment and distraction from a wonderful massage

Had a policy that I was not told about beforehand that you are not allowed a facial under certain circumstances. When I arrived I was not allowed a facial and they insisted I pay anyway. The owner also screamed at staff while I was sitting there trying to get a manicure (this is before they told me they would charge me for a service they would not allow me to get). will never return. I don’t go to spa to hear screaming. I don’t patronize dishonest business. I do not recommend this place. Also the nail polish was not done neatly and was very uneven and they gave my friend gel polish when she explicitly asked for no gel polish.Terrible experience- was ripped off demanding we pay for a service we were forced not to get by them, stressed out by the owner screaming, given service we asked them not to do and didn’t do a good job. The staff was nice as they did a terrible job and did things we asked them not to. That’s the only positive and it’s not much

Stephanie and the luxury facial treatment was the hight of my experience. She was so caring, friendly and an expert at her craft. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine the day i had my treatment. I appreciated that no industrial cleaner,, which I am allergic to, was used. The place looked like it could use a good cleaning (with environmentally friendly products) and a refresh. That said, the experience was an excellent value and good experience despite some shortcomings.

Woman wasnt paying attention and cut me with the loofah. They mostly didnt care. Wont be going back. UPDATE: decided to try again. Changing from one star to two as I did have a Pleasant experience this time. If it is more consistent in the future, I will update withmore stars.

Salon completely cancelled and voided my appointment when I wasnt able to pick up their call after we discussed rescheduling and they said they would call me back. They told me they left multiple messages (which they did not - I have no record of a voicemail) and then I had to call back to find out what was going on. Communication was incredibly poor and poorly handled on their part. Consider somewhere else. Dont waste your time!!

I just love coming to Simply Green. Its part of my regular self-care to have a pedicure there once a month. The hot towels and the extensive foot and lower leg massage are particularly delicious. There is a cloud of comfort for everyone who works there and everyone who comes there. I always leave refreshed and relaxed. Many thanks!

I called right after they opened today, Saturday. They were able to fit me in. I got myself a Mani pedi.The staff was very friendly. The space was nice and had a really good vibe. They did a really good job and I felt really relaxed. I went in for nail care but found out they also offer waxing, massage, and facials. I plan on going back to try everything. Im really happy about this find.I have my long time nail salon but I think this might be my new home.I found out they have a membership which i think it really cool. Also something Ill be looking into!

My pedi experience at simply green was amazing. The staff was professional and took their time completing our service. The location is dope for a quick bite after or while you wait as well. I recommend simply green for your spa needs

I had a wonderful massage in the capable hands of Lychee. She’s very intuitive and helped me feel so much better. My massage was followed by a great mani pedi given by the beautiful Tiffany and Sarah. They and the Spa itself are so relaxing. The care given here is incredible. I’m thankful.

I had my massage experience earlier today. This was my first time at the day spa.Positives: Everyone was friendly.Areas of improvement: the person who provided the massage and foot reflexology did not seem very skilled, or well trained in massage. Ive had hundreds of massage over the years, and this person seemed all over the place with their approach. I almost left mid massage, but I was curious to see if the massage would improve. It didnt really, but again the person who did my massage was very kind and was responsive to my suggestions.I will not be returning.

I have been going to Simply Green Day Spa for years and have had many services from nails, facials, waxing and massage and I can say that every single service has been outstanding with the best, sweetest, kindest and most experienced staff.I recently found my FAVORITE massage therapist: Leeland!From the moment he greets you, he is all smiles and warmth. He focuses on exactly what you came there for YOU and your SELF CARE. He discusses any areas of tension and/or pain and not only takes your information but really senses where other tension/pain may be. I find his massages to be SPECTACULAR and Ive never had a massage therapist so in tune with my body. He provides body work at its FINEST! I can talk about how amazing Leeland and his golden hands are, but I would suggest you try for yourself!!!

Everything was lovely until the woman working on my feet haphazardly decided to use the pumice stone on the top of my foot after the soles. It actually chaffed the skin which is still sore hours later.I recommend better training for specialists who assume these roles. When you choose to pamper yourself with a pedicure, you assume the individual in service to be the expert who takes good care of you, as opposed to leaving feeling worse that when you arrived.It’s a shame, because I love that the SPA is a green business and am now unable to return without the fear of that happening again and will no recommend it to others.

Really was looking forward to getting a pedicure done here mostly because they have recliner chairs and standard bowls instead of the massage chairs and jet tubs. My manicurist was done with my entire spa pedi in only 30 minutes, I feel like the cuticle work and painting were quite rushed. I do not recommend going here if you’re prone to ingrown nails, the way mine were cut down is going to make them worse for several months.

I live nearby but would travel a distance just to enjoy their services and authentic products.Having a truly organic, soothing and healing experience is important to me, whether a mani-pedi, waxing, or other spa treatment. The space is clean, comfortable and pleasing. I always get excellent service and often see the same technician. Everyone listens well to personal preferences and aims to please.I highly recommend anyone to try Simply Green for your Day Spa needs.

It was weird that the receptionists were talking so much, and that they were not attentive to the guests. The Nail Techs provided the added concierge touch by asking if I wanted water. Otherwise the best part were the techs. Oddly enough I had a funny experience watching this woman just walk in like she owned the place, opened up the front door letting in cold air, and she was overall very distracting from my wonderful Spa EXPERIENCE. Hmmph. This odd individual even made a phone call to her pharmacy on SPEAKER PHONE and no one enforced the lovely no cell policy. Very strange!My technicians were the best! Just for them, I am happy to return.

My best friend and I had a great experience at Simply Green Day Spa! We both got gel manis and pedis which look beautiful and flawless. The staff were so welcoming and kind. Well definitely be back!

I didnt feel comfortable. The polish on my nails did not look very good that was a big disappointment she didnt clean up around the cuticles 😕 The pedicure was very good. The eye brow waxing was performed by the manicurist. She got the hot wax on my face. It burned my face. The area above my eyebrows turned red and start bumping up because the manicurist performed the eyebrow waxing inappropriately, she didnt use the correct products! The cost for each service is not clear its posted online and other places but you cant tell what they will charge you until you get ready to pay then you will be surprised. They ask if you will pay cash or card, if cash you get a discount but I didnt. Sometimes you will get an inexperienced technician who does not really know the proper procedures. I am a licensed aesthetician so I know the difference. They need to do better.

Had a wonderful afternoon...massage /hot stones was amazing!!! Leland (hope I captured that correctly) has magic hands. My daughter-in-law also had brow wax and tint from Tiffany and she did a wonderful job!!! Will definitely go again!!!!!!!! 💕

Incredible service! I was actually pleasantly surprised by the amazing service of this place. From the moment I walked in, the service was superb. The front desk staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and there was no waiting. My appt time was right on time. The best part is that the place doesnt smell overwhelming of acetone/ acrylic, and other harsh chemicals which most shops use. They use all natural products. I got my natural nails done and the service was EXCELLENT! I returned the next day for a facial with My, and it was thee BEST facial Ive ever had! My is really good with skincare, and my husband even said my skin was glowing and he could tell they removed the dull skin lol. I cant wait to go back for another facial, massage, or any other service. They have some of the best service in town.

I got a 1 hour facial and Tiffany was the best! I admit, I didnt really want to come here because parking is terrible but Tiffany is so worth it. The room was small and not the most glamorous as some places are. But Tiffany was so sweet, thorough and explained all of her treatments plus gave recommendations on home care. She massaged my hands as my facial masks were setting. When I get facials at other places, the people usually leave the room and come back in 10 minutes. Tiffany goes above and beyond so please tip her accordingly 🙂. She deserves it!

My facial was rushed (50 minutes, not 60) and the person didn’t ask about my concerns but made some comments about my skin and eyebrows that felt kind of judgy. I did receive a discount since the facial was short. I don’t like that they use strongly scented detergent on the towels and wash cloths.

I dont get pedicures often, so this was a treat for me. I truly enjoyed the experience. It was very relaxing and Sara did a wonderful job on my toe nails. I will definitely be returning; in fact, Ive already schedule my return appointment! The only downside is that parking is difficult, so allow plenty of time.

If you need a quick and high quality pedicure, this is the place to go. Pedicures take between 25-40 minutes and are pretty affordable compared to other spots in the area $10-$62 (more if you add on extra services). The staff are really kind and make sure you feel cared for. And I appreciate how all the polishes, scrubs, etc. are organic/low on toxins!

I had a great experience here! I called to schedule and the receptionist was easy to talk to and able to get me in same day. When I came in, the place had lots of customers and was clean and organized. Even with a lot of people the vibes were relaxed. I’ve never been waxed before (I got a Brazilian) and was nervous, but my waxer, Tiffany, was very nice and made the processes easier. I was comfortable, and it went by quickly. Thanks for the service, and I’ll definitely be by again :)

Was wonderful from start to end. The receptionist was super kind. The woman who did my deluxe pedi was amazing. I could have fallen asleep in the chair I was so relaxed!!

It was my first time at Simply Green Day Spa and i was very content with mine and my moms service. We both got the luxury pedicure. It was nice and relaxing throughout the entire experience. I did have to redirect my lady on fixing a few nails for me but she did it with ease and it was fine afterwards. I would say thought that for a luxury pedicure, I would expect a little bit foot/heel scrubbing. I would definitely go back but probably get a much less expensive pedicure.

I purchased a Groupon massage and was blown away by how incredible it was: I can easily say that this is the best massage that I have ever been given. Li-Chi was kind and very focused on making sure that my experience was everything that it needed to be; everything was customized for my comfort and the massage was tailored to my specific needs. I loved how quiet, serene and clean the space was along with the top notch customer service. I highly recommend this spa for anybody looking for a place to relax. Will definitely return soon!!!! Maya is such a good esthetician. I have a whole new face! The best massage component of any facial I have ever had. I really felt things loosen up and my lymphatic system getting moving.

Leland worked his magic. His massage is not your traditional massage. It’s more like an art. I been working out and lifting a lot and my right legs and lower back has been aching and after leaving his massage bed I felt no aches or pains. If anything I felt light as a feather walking downstairs to get a manicure and pedicure. I will be coming back shortly!

Lychee is a great massage therapist—very kind, empathetic and knowledgeable. I prefer deep tissue and they work out a lot of my knots. The service at the front is efficient and friendly. I have the annual membership so that I get a discount on services. I appreciate that they’re also eco-friendly.

I bought my wife here for her birthday and our experience wasnt very enjoyable. The word SPA is misleading ???????This was just a nail shop. We we not offered any water, tea, or anything, the bathroom was not appealing, the seating was uncomfortable, both staircases are dangerous, and the situation wasnt very sanitary. She had a massage, which was ok. When it was time to pay, I felt harassed because he wasnt satisfied with my $20 tip. He told me 20%was correct, which came up to $40. I told him $20 is all I have. He then went on to say there were 5 people 🙄.

I just moved to Grand Ave.and have been searching for my new nail place.I went into green spa Sunday afternoon, for a hot stone mani pedi.Overall I think it’s overpriced for the service that you get. My cuticles were super dry the next morning and peeling off, it wasn’t trimmed how it should have been, i still have dead skin on my fingernails. I paid, with tip about $119.The gentlemen at the desk didn’t say thank you as I left, he left me standing at the desk for a good 3 minutes without saying he would be right with me. It’s small details like these that make me want to come back and spend my hard earned money. It’s small details like this that makes me wonder if this is their regular treatment to customers, perhaps they had an off day. I think business owners need to pay attention to all types of customers that come into their place of business. Never judge a book by its cover, that results in a loss of what could be a long time customer.I was curious to try their facials, but the overall unfriendly vibe I got from this place, I will most likely not come back. I’ll continue my search for the nail salon that will cover all my expectations.

I got an amazing mani today and the color was perfect (Desert Rose gel polish). The arm massage at the end really helped me to relax. I did not catch her name but she was wonderful!Mai did an excellent facial treatment and I felt thankful that they could fit me in today 😌👌🏽

I would give 10 stars if I could!! My husband and I went and had massages at the same time. Both Leland and Li-Chi were the best we’ve EVER had! Can’t say enough good things about them on every level! Professional, knowledgeable quite simply…Perfection! Staff at the front desk were also fantastic and the spa is adorable and clean. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I had a massage and I think the therapist was new cause It wasn’t any like a massage. I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t relieve any of my back tension and it actually hurts more now.

My go-to spot. Im always able to truly relax when I go here... lay back on the comfy reclining chairs while and shut my eyes while the friendly and kind nail technicians scrub, massage, and efficiently do their thing. I also appreciate the selection of nontoxic polishes and organic products. Recommend!

As always simply green is inviting and lovely with great service. A few friends and I tend to book app at the same time and they are always accommodating, seating us near each other and such.

Won’t be coming back. I’ve been a few times and I some how always get the same lady who ends up cutting me and making me bleed. My last visit I bled a total of 3 times during my pedicure. She gave up near the end of my pedicure and another specialist took over and she was much more gentler.

The salon does not have fancy chairs and isn’t pristine looking but the clinicians did an amazing job. I don’t have manicures and pedicures very often, 1-2 times a year. I feel like this was exceptionally worth the money for a special occasion.

I used to live a block away, and started coming here due to the great location. I keep coming back because I always receive great service and quality work from their team. I dont mind dealing with the tough parking situation on Grand Ave.l, but def give yourself time before your appt. They get busy and I call to check their availability instead of doing a walk in on the weekend. Manicures and pedicures are excellent 👌 they also have great spa services, like massages, waxing, and they are always incredibly professional.

Lovely staff, very clean and relaxing environment and exceptional service. I’m pretty picky about how my nails are filed and they aced it! I moved to Oakland a few months back and have been looking for my permanent spa - Simply Green Day Spa will definitely be that! My mom also joined me and and has said this will be her go to spa as well.

Lovely experience getting a pedi for the first time at this spa. The foot and leg massages were heavenly, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Im looking forward to returning again soon.

What an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!! I had a 30 minute massage, eyebrow wax and tint and hit stone pedi. My eyebrows look fabulous!!!!! The place was beautiful and so clean and the staff were beyond kind and considerate. I cant wat to return.

I had came in with acrylic nails that were at their end. One person seemed a little discouraged to handle it. But by some dilebaration with the rest of the staff, they worked together to remove the nails and paint them. I got their hot stone mani and pedi package. It was an amazing process with my hands and feet. I cannot wait to go back because I rather my hands and feet be taken care of naturally. I tipped them well also. I didnt know they they didnt originally remove acrylic or use acrylic and that is my fault for not researching more. Thank you.

I’ve been going to see my favorite technician, My, for almost a decade at Simply Green… hard to believe, but when you find you’re person, you know. Lawrence, the owner, treats his employees and guests like family. He spends time catching up with customers with genuine care. I haven’t found another place in Oakland or Berkley that compares for the quality and value. It’s a non-toxic, fume free, environment with cozy chairs and a membership program that pays for itself after a few visits. Plus, they have whole treatment options: fabulous massage, facials, and waxing - that feels like your at a spa, not a dark back room. Thankful they made it through the past year and I hope to continue going for the next 10 years.

Our experience was amazing. It was my first pedicure ever and it was fabulous. My partner had a recent ankle sprain, she went with the reflexology pedicure and the staff were not only super gentle, the care put into the massage was healing for her foot. Fantabulous!!! We will be back :)

I have come here for years, and I cant go anywhere else! I love everything about this place. My nails always look beautiful. The quality of every mani-pedi is so lovely. They are also always right on time with appointments. Plus, I love that its a healthier approach to skin and nail care. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Its my spot!

My experience, for a first timer, was a little off for an establishment that provides service for relaxation. Overall I had 4 different services and spent a good amount of $$, again for a first timer, I was excited I found a spot for my monthly needs but the ppl at the cashier ruined my experience by taking a tip that I hadn’t suggested on top of all I got a call back once I inquired about it, met with a snotty passive cashier who totally wasn’t apologetic instead had a nasty attitude towards my inquiry. It’s a shame to treat customers who pay their good $$ as if you don’t want their business again!

I haven’t had a massage in many months, and just went through a tough experience that culminated in a surgery. After six weeks post-op healing, I was in need of some deep tissue work and rejuvenation… so I got myself a little treat this week. Wow, I am so glad I did!Lychee, the massage therapist, gave me exactly the work my stiff body needed after sitting/laying for so long with my body in crisis mode. There was plenty of checking in and readjusting pressure for my personal comfort and the results were fantastic. I felt a huge relief and even booked a follow up appointment to continue this journey to find a healthy, happy me again!

Anna did a great job on my nails! I came here with a group of 5 and we really enjoyed it. Its a nice atmostphere, with really comfortable chairs. Everyone working here was really friendly and they brought us tea or water. We felt very pampered. I got gel nails and a pedicure, and both have lasted several weeks so far. Highly recommend!

Omg, DO NOT GO HERE!! this place is TERRIBLE! Besides their racist, discriminatory customer service the quality of the work they do is TRASH. I got a pedicure last night and today it’s completely ruined. I believe they used old paint. The polish is thick and grimey. I also cannot believe how expensive their prices are compared to the quality. I’m extremely picky about my nails, so I was skeptical about trying their shop. They also don’t have proper seating for manicures and pedicures. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! Don’t waste your money. I could see if their service was good, but quality, price and service are ZERO STARS!!!

This has been my go-to place for all things “self-care”. Lawrence is an epitome of customer service – he really understands what it takes to serve people! The place is serene and I love the green approach to nail & skin care! This is a place where you want to become a “regular” at - do check out their bundles or a membership deal. It’s a whole package!

I love this SPA. I have had several services over the years: nail care, facials, massages. It is always a great experience: I feel that my preferences are carefully considered, service providers are communicative and can adjust if asked. The staff are friendly and respectful. The facility is very clean and has nice relaxing ambiance. I like the selection of products used and offered for sale - I have sensitive skin, and I have ever had a problem with any product offered to me or used during services. There is also lovely tea served - I find it a very sweet touch. Overall, I really enjoy this place. It is not pretentious, run by caring genuine people, and offers excellent services at very reasonable prices.

What a great experience! My husband and I had hot stone pedicures and manicures for a date night. Chairs are comfy, everything feels warm and cozy and clean. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Plus, my nails look great! We’ll be back.

Waxing service: 5 stars for the ladies! service itself is fine and the women who work there work hard and have done a great job.But it’s a mystery why a half leg wax excludes the knee. Really???? It’s not cheap either (more than half the price of a full leg). And when I asked for it, the man behind the register explicitly said “no”. And I’d have to book a full leg wax. Disappointing and 1 star for that. I would go there otherwise… I just don’t need a full leg wax.

This was my first time having a massage since the pandemic and it was absolutely what I needed. I let Li Chee (I hope I have the right spelling), the massage therapist, know beforehand that I have PTSD and was having a particularly hard week with symptoms. They were so accommodating and communicative- asking what I felt comfortable with and what I was not comfortable with. They checked in several times during the session and the session was wonderful. I found that their steady breathing was helping me do my deep breathing (which was sorely needed after a long week) and I felt myself releasing and so relaxed. I immediately booked another session for the following week and am looking forward to making this a regular part of my self care.

It was overpriced for the service provided. I was not offered polish on my pedicure and my shins were the only thing exfoliated. I was in and out in 20mins. They also charge you $3 to use a credit card. I went to my regular spa directly after for another pedicure. Will not be returning.

Where do I begin?! I had my first massage ever by Li-Chi and let me tell you! I felt so safe and so accepted in my own body. There has been a major shift in consciousness where we are being awakened to transcend our traumas (that is stored on a cellular level in the body). Li-Chi was so patient, asked what my needs were and ensured I understood how important it was that I knew that I was safe in that space. Immediately made another appt to go back one month later. This massage, coupled with some time in nature by Lake Merritt, was something i didn’t know I needed. Thank you, Simply Green Day Spa for this amazing experience ❤️

I have been going to this spa for years. I love how professional, clean, and efficient they are. It is refreshing that they only take as many customer appointments as they have staff to handle. I have sat at too many salons where my appointment time passes because they overbook themselves. Service is always top notch from nail care to massages. I recommend them to all my friends.

I found this spa right before quarantine last year, and have been able to come back a couple times they have been able to reopen. Lawrence is very accommodating each time I make an appt, and they are always so helpful to my husband who is a 6’6” man with long heavy legs... these tiny women scrubbing his feet proper! Tammy is the best, almost didn’t want to share that but she should get props for being so thorough. Most importantly they always let us soak our feet for 10 minutes before the service so that everything softens up nice for the pedicures we get, exfoliating and scrubbing these babies are my priority. No need for fancy chairs —- the space is simple and clean and gentle and more comfortable than those turn and burn nail salons. Truly a spa feeling without breaking the bank.

I highly recommend Simply Green Spa. The staff are all professional, friendly, helpful, and technically skilled. My facial and mani/pedi were so deeply relaxing… pretty sure I had an out of body experience — definitely transported to a peaceful state of mind. If you are having a massage or facial, I do recommend light ear plugs for even deeper relaxation. After two years of COVID isolation, this was the first service related business I chose to be indoors with other people around. They enforce a mask policy for staff and patrons. Excellent overall!

This place is a gem! I will absolutely be going back. My partner and I made appts (for his bday) for a Luxury Pedicure that included hot stones and a paraffin treatment. The front desk gal was great as were the technicians. The environment was relaxing, esp with the fountain running. Well be back for monthly treatments!

I love these guys. What more can I say? I have occasionally gone to other salons (when I’ve been desperate and Simply Green has been booked), but none as good. The Simply Green folks do a better job of dealing with my cuticles and my dry feet, and all the other fundamental stuff, than anyone else. Simply Green is attentive and gets all the details right. I love working with My (“Mee”) and Tiffany, but there are other great technicians there, too. The setting is also welcoming, calm and comfortable. This has been my one and only go-to nail salon, in the East Bay, for years.

I love this spa! The technicians are very pleasant and fast. The quickness of service does not feel rushed nor does it lack in quality. I have gone 4 tines now and each time I have been provide excellent service. The colors used on the walls are warm and inviting. There is a large fountain with a nice flow of water. Each seat is a comfortable recliner style. The massage are done by hand v the vibrating chair at other salons. I am offered tea or water when I come in. I live the fact that there is no t.v., you make an appointment in advance so they are prepared to meet you so there so no waiting. I appreciate the absence of chemicals in the air and the sound of electric hand held devices---so over that! I would give them a 5 star rating but parking is a hot mess! Not the fault of the spa. It just is what it is. So prepare in advance! They are a little higher in price than some of the other salons and its worth it! Not only does my gel last longer but it doesnt feel like a meat market---get em in get em out! For everything you get there its a GREAT VALUE!!!

The spa faces a beautiful park in Oakland and then nail technicians are all kind and patient. I’ve never felt rushed or like they over booked themselves, it’s very relaxing. I recently moved to Oakland, and been looking for a good facial spa. Coming from Asia, I am very picky on this. This place is incredible. The facial is on par with what I usually get in Asia. My face feels really clean and hydrated afterwards. The staff are all accomodating! I think its also better to get membership especially if youll visit them often.

Love that theyre a non-toxic salon. Everyone is always very nice and they do great work. The only reason I cant give 5 stars is because they dont have massage chairs, which I love. However, their chairs do recline, so thats nice.

The 90-minute massage with Lychee was exquisite! I went in with tension pain and came out with better range of motion in my neck and shoulders...and everywhere else. She was sensitive to my preferences for a lighter touch, and added sone extra strength where needed to release muscle knots. It was perfect.

Great service, and open late. My partner really loves it here, which is more than enough reason for me to go back. I dont get out to do my nails much, so Simply Green would be a bit pricy for me if I came on the reg, but this is a go to for me for sure when we want to treat ourselves. Also I love love love that they have animal kind polishes. Would love to try spa services someday.

Simply Green Day Spa is my go to place for a relaxing Mani- Pedi. It costs more than others , but it also gives more than other nail salons. The place is very clean, comfortable, doesn’t smell from polish, and the manicurists are typically very good. My last time there was a little disappointing bc unbeknownst to me, I was the last scheduled customer for the evening, and it was rushed. That wasn’t the case for my friend who started before me and ended after I was finished.I intend to go back regularly just as I have for years.

I’ve been coming here for years for spa mani and spa pedi. The service is good but not always consistent. Some nail technicians only give a 2-minute massage and some longer. Not sure how long the service is for a spa mani and spa pedi. But yesterday, I got my French mani in addition to spa mani and spa pedi. I thought the lady did a good job but when I got home, I looked it even more and notice the inconsistencies. The lines, thickness, and curves arent that good. Perhaps, I’ll stick to clear polish or buff moving forward.

First spa day after covid restrictions lifted. the experience for me and my friend was heavenly. the commitment to healthy products and environment continue to allow me to relax despite being sensitive to scents.they have truly gone above and beyond to maintain a safe environment during covid. everyone wears masks, sanitizes often, and early birds wait outside for their appointments. inside the manicure chairs are at least 6 feet apart with 7-foot-tall clear plastic dividers. my girlfriend and i had a real girls-day-out without sacrificing our health.cant wait to come back for a message.

I first went to Simply Green because I wanted to bring my boyfriend for his first pedicure ever and was delighted about their green practices. For instance, yesterday I found out the nail polish remover is citric acid base instead of acetone, for gels and nail polish! It’s very relaxing and friendly. I am so pleased with my past two gel mani-pedis!💚

The nail polish that was used for the manicure had a problem,before I left the salon two of my fingers was damaged. The person tried to correct, but I used gloves to do my job, but that didnt help because the polish started to raise up from my nails.

I felt rushed with Tiffany. Though she gave hot tea several times I felt like I kept redirecting her to correctly file my nails. At one point her coworkers were laughing at something she mentioned in front of my face. I like the concept of eco-friendly but not so much my experience.

I joined as a member with my husband several years ago. I was gone for over two years as my husband and I dealt with his illness and subsequent death. I recently walked in the door of the Spa for services and even tho it has been years, the staff immediately recognized me and provided their over-the-top service. I felt a little piece of home in my heart.

Everyone here is super nice and, perhaps more importantly, good at their jobs. I appreciate anywhere that does a solid massage for their manis and pedis! AND they’re committees to low/no scent and green practices. Covid conscious, space is nice & bright. I only gave four stars because there are some amenities that I like that were missing (eg massaging chairs, jets on the foot bath), but all-in-all a great spot.

They are open again after Covid. It was my most pleasant experience yet! Things were super clear and well spaced out. Everyone was really happy to be there. I loved getting my spa pedi!

I do NOT recommend them for massage or reflexology. It was my first time in and unlike every other spa, they didn’t have me fill out any paperwork. The massage room wasn’t ready when they took me in and so I watched as he finished getting the massage table ready. The massage was extremely oily and basically just got rubbed w a forearm the whole time. The “reflexology” was not traditional reflexology, just a foot rub. My hair was also pulled a ridiculous amount. It wasn’t enjoyable and I won’t be back.

I love this place. I particularly like that their hygiene is of the highest order. I worry about getting a pedicure and getting some kind of weird infection. But this place has separate bowls to soak your feet in. Also they make an appointment and it is a real appointment. That’s really important to me is a busy person

The waxing tech, Mai, did an absolutely fabulous job on my Brazilian. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease and no hair in sight.

As a wheelchair user I appreciate the option to roll into a space rather than transferring to a chair. I feel like they do a more thorough job than other salons as well. Highly recommend!

Great massage! Leland listened to my requests and did a fabulous job! The only thing that was noticeable was the ambient noise. They could use a water fountain or music, to help drown out other people in the spa.

I’ve been coming here since my second trimester of my pregnancy with my mom and Lawrence and the staff treat you like family.I love the personal loveseat for mani and pedi and detailed my Brazilian waxes are done. This is definitely our spot here in my hometown of Oakland for our self care needs.

6/25/13EXTREME PAMPERINGThe bachelorette party for my girlfriends upcoming 4th of July wedding started off at this spa. It was pre-arranged that our group would be coming in for simultaneous treatment and celebration. They allowed the maid-of-honor to set up an area in the front with a cooler and table. Her cheeses and dips with fresh veggies and tasty adult beverages were awesome and it was really great they let us bring all of this in.I started off with a pedicure from Hung and a manicure from My. Both ladies did a fabulous job and really took their time. The chair was comfy, tbough I hands-down prefer the massaging ones that are used elsewhere. The arm massage I received with my mani really stands out. My took her time and really massaged my arm muscles up to my elbow. My chair sat closest to the window and I could see the park across the street. It was a pretty awesome view. Lots of shirtless guys doing pull-ups and working out :)We had all purchased an Amazon Local deal for $60 that included a mani-pedi and your choice of facial or 60-minute massage. I have never had a facial and opted for the massage. Terry did a great job! It was very, very relaxing.On top of the wonderful service, its great to know that we supported a business that uses cruelty free products that are not tested on animals. Love for the furries!

The owner and staff are lovely. My mani-pedi included several minutes of experienced massage. A wonderful experience.

As an out of town customer- this place is definitely described wrong! THIS IS NOT A SPA!! This is an old out dated and dirty nail shop- that just happens to offer massages. I was greeted very kindly by the front desk staff... noticed an old man dozing off in the corner. Turned out he was my “ therapist “. Directly behind the front desk there is a set of spiral stair case that took us up the next level- not floor but level, this is important because there is no separation of sound from the all the activity of the nail shop!! That level was gross and dirty! Filled boxes and debris! He leads me into a curtained off section. I get undressed- because I’m there and need to get a knot worked out my shoulder. I traveled 8 hours that day! He starts and no music, no ambience, no sound machine! Nothing but the noise downt stairs. He starts to massage me and I can tell right away something was wrong. But meanwhile i start hearing moaning. Turns out someone else is getting a massage done. Only a thin curtain separating us. I can hear his therapist and him! He was moaning so loud it was disgusting!! Meanwhile the man rubbing me down has zero experience as a therapist. It’s obvious. I travel for work and get massaged at least twice a week. He had no clue. So I’m getting ready to just scratch the whole thing. Then the icing on the cake is when a new customer is escorted up the stairs and is on her cell phone right out side of my curtain. That was it!! 15 min in and I was already getting dressed to go back to my hotel!! BOTTOMLINE- THIS PLACE IS A HARD PASS!!!!

Li-Chee (not sure about spelling) was wonderful! Very skillful and courteous. A great listener and a great body worker.

I went and recieved a mani/pedi combo, it was so relaxing and nice. I recommend for anyone and especially anyone who does not like the toxic smells that come from other nail salons.

I have been a loyal customer here for over 7 years. I love the ambience, the great service, the reasonable prices of a spa pedicure, and the fact that there is no chemical smell here. I recommend it highly!

Always greeted in a friendly manner. Enjoyed the gel manicure and pedicure. Also have had massage and waxing. Everything was great.

My go to for a lovely pedicure. They do a salt scrub and massage your feet and lower legs with the Spa pedi, but lately Ive gotten the Luxury for the hot stone massage and paraffin dip. They are super clean, autoclave the tools, and you get a clean basin of fresh hot water, scented, to soak in - not the built-in recirculating basins that are attached to some salon chairs.

Everyone is friendly and amazing! Made me realize how much I miss going to Simply Green.

This was hands down the best manicure Ive ever had. Hot stone massage, I got to sit in the comfy chairs usually just for pedicures, and my nails look fantastic. I cant wait to be back.

I treasure my massage time at this spa. Leland is amazing and I always feel like blissful putty when I leave. He also does reflexology, so I bundle that with a mani/pedi from the great ladies who all take good care of my fingers and toes. I dont have a favorite nail tech -- theyre all nice and competitent and Im not that picky. Im picky about my massages and Leland is the best.

Mei* and Fefe were really great! I came in near closing and they were accommodating. The vibe is really modern and cute. It’s a fun small intimate spa that I highly recommend! All organic product too.

Cleanliness is mostly want I look for when I go for any type of personal care like spa. Everyone is super nice there. Parking is a bit hard sometime but a little walk is always good for the body.
