Although its a small place, its a mature crowd 50 plus who knows how to party! Lots of dancing. Need more bar tenders due to the big crowd. The owner is available and play a roll with customer service! The Friday DJ, is good! Get their by 9-10, to get a sit. Food is served during parties or out doors.Nice place if youre old school!

I went for the first time and its truly a locals spot. The Bartender was welcoming and greeted me as i walked in. The bar seemed fully stocked and for the Wednesday night Steppers set, there were some Steppers in there. Casual to comfortable dancing attire was acceptable. The cocktails were reasonably priced. It appeared to be a Black-Owned business and I was glad to see people patronizing this establishment.

Its not be cuz I hated It, I am just wondering why do I have to be vaccinated to go in????, when theres feces on sidewalk....I cant breathe!

Bartender hella rude but I loved the karaoke night drinks were expensive

On Thursday Nights they have Karoke and I love going there the drinks are reasonably priced

My opinion overall for a bar its not bad its very friendly but its an attraction for younger people now. That part I dont like! I used to go at least once a week.... 3 days ago was the first time I had been there in 6 months due to the younger crowd they are allowing to come in🙄

Lakeside Lounge is a great little bar that has been in Oakland for decades! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming! The people are friendly and bartenders are fantastic! I am Piedpiperkj, and I perform at the Lakeside every third Wednesday of the month! The musicians with whom I work, ar Lorenzo Hawkins and Ranzel Merritt. There is also Live blues band every Sunday night, and it is always LIT! There are activities happening Wednesday thru Sunday, something for everyone!

The crowd is normally people from the neighborhood or regulars that visit often. The DJs are always moving the crowd. You are guaranteed to dance and have a good time at Lakeside which has a very small dance floor and does not stop anyone from getting on it!

The blues on Sunday is the most hidden gem in all of Oakland. Out of this world music in an old school dive setting with the friendliest of folks. Bonus points for always letting me dance around in my roller skates!

Old School fun; however, there is a new waitress or barback on ( Friday night)older AA woman that is allowed to treat customers like dirt. Extremely nasty attitude. I will not be spending my money there again.

Old school black neighborhood bar that is open to all races and ethnic groups. Lakeside lounge primarily serves Oaklanders that love to come out and dance to sum old school music and have a drink and meet a new friend more of a 40 and up crowd all the way up into the 70s mama and papa need to party too so come on out.

My daughters and I had a great time on Sunday for the Blues session it was awesome. The singers and band were great. We will return in the future and tell others to come to the Blue Sunday.😁

Small little spot with an older crowd and nothing but R&B. If you want to listen to rap, dont come here. Had a blast here, but dont let the toilet get clogged, they shutting the whole thing down!!

No frills Town bar! Dancing, birthdays, Djs, Bands, themed nights, and only $5 cover charge on Friday and Saturday. On the weekend come dressed to dance and flirt. Might look a bit ghetto but old school Oakland Gem! All r welcome!

Sometimes they play oldies, sometimes goodies. When the dance floor is full it aint no stopping. The majority of the crowd is 50 and over. They still have a background photos, its a Polaroid. The lounge is small.

Though it was not what we were expecting. The crowd was dated as well as the dj and the atmosphere. The drinks were so strong as I tasted my friends that it had it be taken back to even it out, which made it worst.

Comfortable atmosphere. Decent music. Friendly and cordial bartender. Friendly and engaging crowd. Had a really good night.

Too crowded. I went when we were have 90 degree weather and they had no air conditioning at all. People were in there looking like they just got out the pool.

I used to come here years ago, nice to see this lil gem still around.

My spot crowded on fridays and drinks are very pricey but for the most part people are wonderful good place to listen to old-school music and kick back and conversate with your friends.

This place is for the real mature crowd. 40 and over period. Which is a good thing. All the other spots for the seasoned folks have either closed or moved location.
