Aye, a great divey punk bar in the east bay. Ideal outdoor space, inside there’s a small stage for intimate shows. Metal core is blaring in the background, and there are two stocked pool tables. Drinks are affordable and stiff, and people are just having a great time.Along with it being a cool spot, there is some great food too. Pop up by Lula’s pit was so good! There was a delicious vegan sandwich option, but for omnivores, the tri-tip sandwich was also delicious. The mac and cheese was also insanely good, a ton of flavor and I loved that they used farfalle pasta.Definitely will be back here soon. Thanks Eli’s!

Such a great old school vibe at this venerable blues club in the heart of Oakland. Amazing music with an alternating cast of vocalists and musicians as the night went on. Crowd was a mix of ages and colors and a positive vibe all around. For a break from the tunes there is a vast back yard area with tables and a second bar that has beer and wine. Get liquor from the main bar only. Bartenders were working hard but very friendly. Great time!

Its a dive bar with live music and food. Bartender was great. Tater tots are delicious. Im not drinking anymore but bartender was able to make me a root beer using Italian soda syrup. Back area is large and very cool. You can smoke cigarettes out back which is nice.

The information on google map is totally incorrect, the app says it was open, but when I went there, it was closed. It’s hard to tell whether it is permanently closed or what exactly was the situation. No signs of explanations. I’ve heard great things about this place, about the food, the drink, and the live music, and I really wanted to check it out. Perhaps the owner of this place could pay more attention to these apps and keep the information up to date? So people wouldn’t come for nothing???

My favorite West Oakland bar. Giant outdoor space in the back, with its own back bar. Pinball and pool in the far back. Awesome bar food with vegan options. Great live music from locals and touring bands often as well

Youll find cheap booze, good beer and awesome food in a dive bar atmosphere complete with live music. The back patio features plenty of seating and a couple of pool tables. The only drawback is how smoker friendly they are, as evidenced by the plethora of ash trays and smokers to be found out back.

Great place for shows. Love the patio. But for the love of god bring back the vegan corndog. When the bartender told me it was discontinued it almost ruined my night.

Ok venue and bar, but the evening “door boy” was so disrespectful and rude upon entry and has the worst customer service. Really a terrible employee that needs to be removed due to the amount of people walking away from his attitude.For the owner of this joint, he’s the short guy with a dumb look on his face and not a care in the world about customer service or basic human kindness.

I myself and my band, Purple Smoke, were playing there last night. We had a great time. The crowd was very engaged and very enthusiastic. The place itself is wonderful. They have a back section with a beer collection that is quite impressive. The music of course was great and we did have a jam session in the last set of the night. It was a great experience. I highly recommend. Jam nights are usually on Mondays. Come and enjoy the fun!

Dark dive bar with good people. Stage with a sound system and good sound guy. Great food made fresh at reasonable prices. Nice patio out back with tables and a pool table.No sink to wash you hands though. Place is overall dirty, floor, walls, and tables are cracked and breaking.

Rs prior to Stephan being there with my dog on the leash as you can see in the picture. But Instead of running to me with concern that a dog just bolted out the front door, this employee just causally let him out with not a care or one ounce of concern. Not a drop of good will in this male. I will never come back during his shift and encourage everyone I come across who lives in Temescal to stay away during Stephens shift. He is a real piece of work. So the story ends with me getting my dog 2 minutes after he went outside and coming back in to Eli’s to get my laptop. Once I got the dog and was talking to the bartender, about what happened, this employee he had the audacity to walk over to me and say “sorry I couldn’t baby sit your dog” not: glad you got him back or even hope he is okay. Sorry about that. Nothing. And remember, he never bothered to walk over and say your dog just ran outside. People like this get Karma in the worst ways. It was almost like he wanted something bad to happen. What an evil dude. Not a good impression. Letting my community members know. Get there before 5:30 when the shifting change happens and the evil door dude shows up 🚶🏽‍♂️

A Really cool place, nice drinks, nice outdoor patio area for smokers, indoor stage area with lots different bands playing but the best kept secret is Monday Night Blues night with really great blues bands playing for free and a jam session later in the evening. Check it out. I highly recommend this as a night out.

Great dive bar! Good music . Totchos are very good. Falafal is kind of perfect. Diverse staff. Crowd is pretty mixed but it seems like the place you come with friends rather than go to make friends. Service isn’t always with a smile but maybe it doesn’t need to be.

Cool large bar in residential part of Oakland. The front bar has a wide variety of live music, the back part of the bar has open ceiling, a few pool tables and the bar and seating areas are largely made out of shipping containers. Lots of street art and graffiti, so has a urban feel. Drink prices are reasonable for the bay area.

Came here to say goodbye to a friend who was moving across the country and the stocky dude with a shaved head and dyed blonde lady working Sunday night felt it was appropriate to physically remove me from the bar at 11:10 while I was waiting for my friend to come out of the bathroom. I had had one drink and was completely calm but they overreacted in the extreme. Please whoever manages this place take appropriate disciplinary action against these people, as their violence was completely unwarranted. I love the blues night, but the Sunday night crew has no chill

Good space to see music with a big patio. Staff were nice but bartenders seemed a bit overwhelmed with a big crowd. Bathrooms got pretty gross and had a long line.Whatever you do dont lock your bike in the yard nextstore or the lady that lives there will take a baseball bat to it!!!!

Great blues club! Wonderful live music in a funky old Oakland club. A full bar that not only serves mixed drinks,, but also has cans Olympia for the true cheapskates. Elis patio is out back, and they have food, too. Cheap drink prices.

Classic Oakland establishment.The new owners are managing to bring together Ol Skool and a young generation, in what seems to be a respectful way.Ive always loved this place, and its deep Musical Legacy. So, Im very happy to see whats happening now.

Elis is back, improved, and still servicing the Oakland dirtbag community. Still serving excellent drink deals. Elis has a new and imroved, more reliable kitchen, serving simple, but good food. The outside patio has been expanded with artful touches and an industrial shipping container atrium. The inside has been reorganized, expanded and improved. The old disgusting bathrooms have been moved and are totally new/sanitary.

Since Elis changed management, it has become my new favorite place in Oakland. Diverse crowd, cool booth seats, blues night is amazing, solid beer selection.

Elis used to be terrible. With the new management, the place it totally different and a great local bar. The patio is fantastic now and the food is surprisingly good.

Ashamed to say that 57 I made my first visit on 1/26 to see Ruby The Hatchet despite living in Sacramento all my life...this will not be my last visit...cool funky dive vibe and drinks/food that are much cheaper than I thought...great sound and lines of sight to the stage...I do recommend getting to the venue early as there is limited street parking...we arrived at 7:20 for 8PM doors and were able to see some of Ruby The Hatchets soundcheck...been missing out for far too long

Haa! Love this place. But most of all, have you heard the sick jam on their website? Sometimes I just open the site and let the song play while Im cleaning the house! LOL.

They have reopened under new management. They are still workin on getting stuff approved again for live acts but they have a great space with pool, jukebox, and even a pinball machine!
