Im going to use my husbands Google account to give Helen an excellent review. Ive been a member of the Massage Envy for almost 14 years and Ive been to many different places since I traveled so much, Ive experienced some massage therapists, but I must say Helen is my favorite of all, she seems to know your muscles trigger points and I especially appreciate her work detail. I thought the ladies at the front were very nice which is why I’m giving 2 stars.However, I’m giving 2 stars because of the actual terrible massage.I went in for a firm massage and the therapist I had was not firm at all. It was probably the softest massage I ever had. It was overpriced for the quality.They also have you fill out an iPad of what you want the therapist to focus on and what you want them to avoid. Mine was to focus on my back and feet and to not do a scalp massage or pectoral massage. He never even touch my feet except at the beginning and just did a basic full body massage that included the scalp and pecs.I was so disappointed I scheduled another massage the same day somewhere else and it was the best massage I ever had.

Connie was incredible! She found all of my knots without me having to tell her where I was sore!! Can’t wait to book again!

Saw Massage Envy was near my hotel while on a business trip and called for a last minute appointment. They found a time that worked and I had an amazing 90-minute massage with Jack. Perfect way to end a long day!

Had a rejuvenating deep tissue massage with Angela. The staff was very accommodating with sudden changes in scheduling. I’ve been going here for nearly 10 years and love it!

Xiu qin (Helen) is an excellent massage therapist. I asked her to focus on my shoulders and hamstrings, and she put in amazing work to make my body feel the best it has felt in months. Thank you!

Excellent experience! I was visiting in California and decided to use one of my credits at a nearby Massage Envy. Mary was an amazing therapist ! After working from home for a month being hunched over a computer , Mary was able to get out all the trigger points in my neck and back ! The facility was amazing compared to my Massage Envy at home . I look forward to coming back next time I’m in Palo Alto.

My experience was amazing! The only thing that was disappointing was because I was a last minute appointment and there was a Wi-Fi issue my session started ten minutes late and end 4 minutes early. Otherwise I was more than satisfied and I will definitely be getting a membership while going back to my massage therapist. She was just amazing!

I went for a massage during a business trip to Palo Alto. I was suffering lower back pain and explained this to the therapist and she concentrated on this area. The massage was very good and certainly relieved the back pain, however, in working on my upper back she must have used an instrument that has left mewith pain to my shoulders and bad bruising. When I spoke with the Manager, he advised that some bruising should be expected, he did offer a complimentary massage which I could not accept as I’m only here for a few more days and in too much discomfort to even consider a massage!

I overall had a pretty good experience. I had a massage with Rachel. She was nice and the massage was pretty good. I had asked her to use deeper pressure for my massage, though. Im not sure if the pressure she was using was her deepest pressure, but it was only okay. Not the way I prefer. She massaged my temples and right around my hairline, and I didnt even know I needed it! It was amazing. I get stress headaches a lot, and that was really great. The front desk lady was also very nice and had explained a lot of things to me that I didnt know regarding the differences in membership prices (Im a traveler, and my home location is on the East Coast). She was extremely helpful, and I appreciated her help. I was honestly disgruntled and taken aback when she mentioned something, but she was great at diffusing the situation. This location has an asset with her as an employee for sure! Overall a good experience.

My Mom and I had a perfectly relaxing and therapeutic massage from Winnie and Mary this week. I drive an hour to come to this ME, passing many on my way. At Palo Alto Massage Envy they listen to what your body needs rather than just doing a rote massage like the other MEs nearby. Thank you Palo Alto ME.-Bo

Do not go there. They charge your credit card unannounced during a pandemic and refuse a refund for un-used credits.Update: I called the number below and was not helped just referred to “jasmin” who is in on Friday after the next membership will be booked from my credit card.I requested to take out my credit card details and was told the system does not allow for this.

This review is long overdue. Massage Envy is the place I go to relax. I started getting facials with Annie a couple of months ago and she is the best kept secret there. My skin is always glowing afterwards and she knows just how to treat her clients. Her 20+ years of experience definitely shows! My appointment with her was so relaxing I almost fell asleep. Plus, if she’s doing extractions she is super gentle, a plus for my sensitive yet thick skin! Definitely give her a try, you won’t regret it.And while you’re there, add on a massage with Mary, a tiny woman with powerful hands! Talk about relaxing. Just make sure to adjust the pressure to your preference and she’ll have those shoulder and neck knots out in no time.Become a member and you get monthly credits. Worth every penny!

This is a lovely Massage Envy location, feels more spa-like than some of the others — it’s in a quaint older building with high ceilings. Helen and Mary are my favorites for deeeeeep tissue, and the staff is friendly and kind. Great value for the price! 💚

Mary is the best. I get a massage at least once a week from different places in San Diego and visit Mary when I go home to Palo Alto for the holidays. Mary is one of my top three massage therapists that I’ve ever been to. She really cares about your experience. I always get anxious counting down the minutes when I have a massage because I don’t want it to end. The staff here I also very welcoming. Since I’m a massage envy member from out of town, there’s a few hoops I have to go through to transfer my credits to someone else and to use them here. They’ve helped me through those hoops and get me set up day of.

Loved my massage with Polly (QuingPing). I’m an athlete so requested a firm to deep level and was very satisfied with the service. Polly was able to focus on the tightest areas and helped release some of the knots in the shoulder, neck, and back area. The front desk professional is also very sweet and helpful and answered all my questions. Will be back next month!

Do not go here, but especially do not get a membership here. They essentially trick you in to year long contracts by telling you that after your second massage you should sign up for the membership and pushing you to sign up. They tricked me in to a year long contract when I was interested in doing it monthly and then canceling after the month. They never allowed for me to cancel it despite only using 1 massage, and then even auto renewed the payments at the end of the term.I do not recommend anyone go here from a business moral standpoint. The massages are fine nothing special, but not bad either, but is it really worth supporting them?

Polly is an amazing massage therapist! Her work feels so good and is so relaxing even as she gets in deep to relax the muscles. If I were wealthy, I would try to hire her as my personal masseuse. And Lisa does a great job up front, managing all the details and making everyone feel welcome.

Palo Alto Massage Envy has a very cozy winter cabin feel to it that I really enjoy. The waterfall by the waiting room adds a level of tranquility and the environment is overall relaxing even before I start my massage.I came in with neck pain and muscle strain,STEVEN recommended the use of rapid tension relief and stretch. After the session my neck felt more flexible. It relieved the pain I had and helped improve my posture since I started off very stiff. Steven is very great at maintaining open communication. I’ve also gone to him for massage and he made sure I was comfortable and asked about the pressure level throughout the session and adjusted when I needed him to. Steven is exceptionally knowledgeable and professional with both stretch and massage styles. .I also see POLLY,JUDY and HELEN for massage. They are all very kind, warm to welcome me and do great to set the tone for a very relaxing massage when I need it.The front desk is easy to work with and I’ve always had a smooth transition to check in and out of my sessions. I’ve been helped by Lex, Edgar who were both Quick and friendly.

Came here for 90 minutes for relaxation full body massage. because of the headache I was not able to sleep. Desperately need a massage. Kerry had done a great job with good and firm technique! She help unlocking my neck and shoulder’s tension

Sona has a great attention to detail and goes the extra mile to do a few manual extractions when the microderm isn’t treating an area.The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful, making sure the right client connects with the right therapist.

Have been going to Sona for microdermabrasion and facial for the past 6 or 7 years, she is professional, very good at what she is doing. I enjoyed the treatment and warm conversation with her. Looking forward to the next session.

I was overdue for a massage for moderate mid to lower back pain. Because of a recent surgery, I requested a lower pressure massage. Jean was careful to listen and gently targeted where the pain was. My back has felt better since and I was not sore afterwards.

I had made an appointment with Aide. And it was 100% worth it. She worked out the knots that were on my back. She knows whats shes doing. Yea, I felt pain but it was a good pain. I felt relieved of the knots that accumulated from time. I recommend her

Was not very pleased with my experience. The woman at the front desk was very kind and welcoming but my actual service left a lot to be desired. In the online form I had requested for my massage therapist to pay special attention to two specific areas and that did not happen. I know this was not the front desk persons fault as she confirmed this request with me when I arrived. Also, the first part of the massage was done through the blanket which was super uncomfortable. To top it all off, I had booked a 60 minute massage on the online portal, but my massage was only about 53 minutes long. When I brought this up to the front desk person, she said messages technically are only 50 mins long. While I dont doubt this, it wasnt posted anywhere on the website which I found strange.Overall, I highly suggest going to a different place if you are looking for a relaxing massage.

The massage therapist I had was only ok. She massaged as though she was in a big hurry. She noted several knots in my shoulders and middle back but did not attempt to relieve the knots or address the tight spots specifically. She also finished ten minutes early. I left with no improvement in my body.

Stay away from this place and don’t get their membership. Been a customer here for a couple of years. Poor customer service, mediocre massage therapists which you will only find out once you try them. But then it’s not worth keeping the membership. Management at this branch is unfit for the job. There is also a pending litigation against this Massage Envy for harassment. So, stay away.

I did and update to the rating it is now. The facials are great with Sandy but shes in the mountain view location now. I saw that a person commented about an employee coughing a lot, I know exactly who you are talking about and that terrifying. The massages are not worth the price at all. You are better off going to a training school to receive service. Im stuck with a year membership, they gave me a book of coupons that everytime I go in to try to use one, they give me one reason or another why I cant. Ive had employees leave to go grab something in the other room and left the door open while I was on the bed. Ive had a horrible massage that left my body sore for almost two weeks (this was at the mountain view location). I cant wait for my membership to expire, I wished I could have my money back for the terrible experiences but what can you do. Ive been receiving massage here for so long but the service now is absolutely low quality with lack of skills, and not worth it. Its clean though and the front desk staff are very nice. I really, really hate my membership here.

2 out of 3 times I have received a poor massage. The last one left me with significant neck pain and the therapist put a lot of pressure on parts of the neck that did not require it. Many body parts left out of massage. Only back of leg massages rather than entire leg. Therapist wasn’t able to speak English so had a very difficult time communicating my needs. Requested 3x during session not to touch a certain body part because of surgery and she consistently did it anyway despite my protest. Again, I believe that was a language barrier. Front office staff are really nice and accommodating but massage therapy quality is definitely hit or miss.

Love membership. The masseuse is great and works on my tight and sore areas. Decadent and affordable to have monthly massage. My idea of heaven!!

Mary is a fantastic massage therapist. I have chronic back pain and a lot of scar tissue from back surgeries and Mary always gives excellent deep tissue massages. Ive had negative experiences with other massage envy locations(billing, scheduling. Incompetence)but have never had a problem at the Palo Alto location. Office staff are all very nice and try to make customers happy.

Helen was exceptional. She really listened to my concerns on the neck stiffness and put additional effort to make me feel better. Of all the message therapists in ME, I liked her the best.

So, for the first time in what I think are 15+ years as a Massage Envy member, I quit a massage after 10 minutes and walked out. Still waiting word on whether they will charge me for a 90 minute appointment. My massage therapist bundled me under two sheets and a blanket, and tried to massage over these. Not only was the massage totally unsatisfactory; I became excruciatingly hot (friction plus blankets). I tried to explain this to my therapist, who does not apparently speak much English. Finally I just told her to stop, and left.If that is the Covid protocol in Palo Alto, okay - but someone should have told me when I booked the appointment. I have had two ME massages in Salt Lake City, and while we were all - appropriately - masked, it was still a skin on skin massage.For what its worth, I have had both vaccinations (as I told the receptionist when I booked, and was perfectly happy to validate), and was told that the therapist had been vaccinated as well. I was not indifferent to her health, or mine.

Steven has been my go to for stretch and massage since I began my membership in Fall 2020. With regular routine appointments, as he continually learns your body and challenges more stretch for optimal flexibility; I always get up feeling much better and more flexible and less tight muscles that when I walked in, thank you Steven!

Mixed experiences. Place is nice and have good massage tables. Subscription only policy is really confusing. Also all personnel is a little too pushy for tips.Now about massage - the quality of therapists is VERY different. Steven is a great deep tissue therapist, highly recommended. Another female therapist was very bad. She clearly dont understand human body anatomy and may be even dangerous for your back, useless at best. Also she speaks (and understands) zero English. They credited me with 30min free massage afterwards, which is fine. Still dont understand how its possible to hire both no skill , no English person for sensitive massage work. The previous review talks about the similar experience.

Great little place. Really enjoyed my massage by a woman named Polly. She massaged me so well and worked on a trigger point. I will definitely be back and will be asking for her again.

Been a Massage Envy client for over 10 years. Got a massage during which massage therapist had a coughing fit. A week later I was positive for Covid. Tried to notify their management, per county recommendations and have not been able to get a hold of them, as they are out sick, per Peter (the rudest front desk person I have ever spoken with). My massage therapist is the best, but I would really love for them to have some better practices regarding employees working while sick and more professional front desk staff.

There are some excellent masseuses at this location, however it is one of the most poorly managed franchise locations I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They dont disclose fees, dont provide account updates, frequently overcharge, and are incredibly difficult to contact. Their systems are apparently down a lot, which means they cant accept phone calls or make any changes, and theyll call you right back, really they will.

I absolutely love Marys massage services and I always feel so relaxed afterwards! The ambience is nice and cozy here and the masseuses are very skilled.

I got a massage from Massage Envy Palo Alto. I really enjoyed the massage and customer service here. The deep tissue was awesome. The Massage table was very clean and heated. My Therapist was very caring. Definitely a great place for affordable and convenient massages.

No one showed up to the Massage Envy PA for my appointment time - FOR THE SECOND TIME. Despite it being office hours, the business was locked and dark and no one responded to my multiple phone calls. When the manager finally showed up, she had the nerve to tell me I did not have an appointment despite me showing her my online confirmation and my email confirmation. I was taken aback by this rude response, rather than sincerely apologizing and trying to make it right.This location also rarely answers their phone in general and its clear the management needs major overhaul.

Sales counter very sweet but my therapist whom I dont believe could possibly be licensed didnt speak English and could not understand anything I was saying. She mixed up the messages for my sister and I, forgot to do the foot scrubs and only worked on each of us for 40 minutes not an hour. I understand a little prep time but ten minutes before and after? Walked in fine and still six days later my back is out and Im unable to walk! Ive never had issues in the past but this was bad with the new ownership and therapist changes. My facial also left me with a swollen, itchy and red face for two days. Granted this was my first facial but I have no known allergies. We both paid a total of $170 each. For what? For me to be unable to walk and have a messed up face and my sister to be very sore? My sister did not have any issues with her facial though and we both liked the girl doing them. Also signs everywhere telling you what to tip and at the end everyone is asking did you tip? $20 for a $65 massage and same for facial? They did remove $10 for the foot scrub.(FYI we were told first time would be $55 each for new clients then at checkout it became $65 each plus the insisted tip of $20 each)Beware I will never go back and it will be a long time before I go to any spa if at all.

Management is unresponsive. I called to cancel my membership on July 27th 2018 and was told that my membership was set to expire by the end of the month and confirmed that I would not be charged - even said that I should receive a call by the end of the day from management to further confirm, which I did not receive. I look at my credit card on August 1st 2018 and there was a charge from Massage Envy. I call to dispute and management is the only person that can help me and they are in all day meetings with corporate. Not worth the price, horrible service, and employees are spent. Huge scheme with lack of respect for customers demands.-8/2/18:Update: received a call from management and was able to resolve all issues so upgrading my review from 1 start to 3 start. The staff try to do wha they can but the system as a whole needs to be revamped from the corporate level down.

Not worth the price and didnt make me feel any better and i thought i was getting a full boby message and she worked on my shoulder to long when my lowerback was the issue she said that my shoulder was making me use my back to much and she worked on it more witch wasnt the case i dont think well go back at least not this one
