The hotel had a stucco face lift on the outside a few years ago, and it still looks decent from the outsideInside the lobby, the dining area and hallways are run down, unsanitary and dirty. The hallway carpets havent been vacuumed in years, and the rooms are dirty and unsanitary. The bathrooms havent been sanitized in years, and the hotel rooms have holes in the walls and have been smoked in when they say theyre non-smoking rooms.They charge your credit card when you check in and offer no refunds. Buyer beware...

Gross!!Bedbugs, grimy rooms, cigarette burnt bedsheets, broken doors and locks, moldy bathrooms and horrible customer service.They have undocumented immigrants working the grounds as well.Stay away from this criminally operated place!

This is THE worst hotel i’ve ever stayed at. We went because we had a power outage at our home. When we first arrived we went into our room and the first thing we noticed is that it smelled like someone had just smoked cigarettes in that room. We asked a worker to have us moved to another room because the smell was horrible. When we got to the other room we couldn’t believe that this place was still running. There was bugs all over the beds and walls. There was a literal blood stain on the sheets. The restroom was dirty and not clean. There was also no lights because supposedly they had stole the lightbulbs. We asked for a refund to go to a better hotel and they refused to give us our money back. We left without staying the night. It was a horrible experience.

Worst experience Ive had in a hotel. It took one hour to realize that my family and I couldnt stay there over night and took our business elsewhere. Before staying in any hotel we call ahead of time just to make sure everything is in order. The person that answered was rude to clarify that everything was available. When we get to the room the light and air conditioning werent working. My husband cut himself with glass shards that were in the pool area and inside the water. Just to imagine that my baby couldve been the one to get cut instead frightens me. To make it worse there was no towels available to dry ourselves off. We will never waste our money on this hotel again.

Nastiest place my family and I used to go here when it was Travelodge and it was OK but now it is deffenetly disgusting the front desk people are sloppy and very rude the gym was permanently closed because it is only for the owners daughters (at least thats what front desk said) the pool was nasty and the jacuzzi did not work. We had to switch rooms because our first room had hairs and sheets were stained. Alot of people drinking in the pool even after hours with music very high. Never again will I stay here do no tu recomend this gross place.

This is the most disgusting hotel experience I have ever had. At first, the place looks nice and new, but once you get into your room everything changes. I decided to ignore the dirty elevator and the fact that there was a broken fridge in the middle of the hallway (3rd floor). Once we got to our room, it was hot as hell, since as other people have mentioned, the AC works only when youre in there. I went straight to the restroom, just to realize there was urine in the toilet seat. I called the front desk, and the guy there said that he could change us to another room, but it was a 2-bed room (I had booked a king-size), but nonetheless he would do so for free, as if asking for a clean room were like asking for an upgrade. I asked if someone could rather come up and clean, but he said the housekeeping staff had left for the day (at 4pm, on a weekend, really?).We were moved to another room, and I undid the beds to make sure they were clean. I found several hairs there and also on the tub, but still decided to stay after a long and tiring day. However, while I was downstairs ordering dinner online (since the WIFI was not working), my wife messaged me to tell me she had seen a bug on my bed. That was it, we were not staying there.I went to the front desk asking the man there to get me either another room in another hotel, or refund me what I had paid for. He said the manager had left (making him the ONLY employee in the WHOLE hotel) and I would need to wait until the next day to talk to her. I demanded him to call her, and when he explained everything, all she said is offer him a refund. No apology, no options, no customer service whatsoever, and an absolute disregard for the naughty place she runs. Also, while I was talking to him, another guest approached to let him know his daughter had vomited on the stairwell. I wonder whether the front desk man went to clean after, or just let it sit there until the next day when the housekeeping staff showed up.To top everything, we were told we would get a refund today, which has not happened yet. Also, we could not leave since we had ordered our dinner already (to a local restaurant). When I came to the front desk to let the guy know we were waiting outside (in case the guys from the restaurant called), he said they had called already, and he had told them we had left and there was nothing he could do about it. So, after all this naughty experience, I also paid for dinner I did not have.

The service was amazing. Had a great time at the pool area, the room was very clean and people were very nice. I will definitely be back. This Receptionist named Andrea was super nice. I even contacted the manager to tell her how good everything was.

They had blood stains on our covers. The faucet was broken. We switched rooms & the shower faucet was broken. We found syringes behind the little counter top. There was dirty socks by the little counter top as well. Theyre were no drinks in the vending machine. We have to pay for the coffee but theres a coffee machine in the bathroom?? You cant have more than 2 towels no matter if theyre dirty.the gym is not functional but there are no out of service signs. The ice machines have no ice...??? The wifi is slow & doesnt reach just anywhere. The TV channels dont even show. Only a small variety of the channels actually let you watch TV... The staff admitted to having lazy owners that take a long while to fix things. Place needs alot of improvement before I refer it to other people.

Was woken up by disturbed knocking from the night person! Like how do you not know what rooms are occupied. Then once again I felt as if they were trying to break into the room around 3 am while we were sound asleep! I had the door latch on so they couldnt enter. I asked front desk what was going on and he didnt have much of a good response! He was rude and denied a reimbursement; and couldnt give out info about the manager! I highly recommend no one to stay at this hotel.

The most dirty room i have ever being; are in this hotel stinky period blood on the sheets. The smell was literally like sh.... this was the most awful experience, they charge me in cash i report it to the attendant and request a money return and the argue about it and he simply said they had no manager to talk to...!Worst service in the Mcallen!I am looking to report it to health department!

Seriously!!!!!Pass this hotel up.No free Wifi. They say it is. But they are very sorry. It just doesnt work in your room. Im in room 121. Bottom floor!Credit card machineWould not work!!! We had to pay cash. He wasnt sure why it would not go thru!! But, hes very sorry!!!No water. Seriously!!!!There is no water in the vending machines.Room is adequate!!Would not allow us to check the room before committing.Pass it up!!!

Horrible. It seems really nice when you get there. We got three rooms. The rooms had bugs on the floor and in the sheets. We asked if the rooms had fridges and microwaves. He said yes. We get to our rooms and neither are in them. They bring us two fridges and one microwave. The rooms are set up with a card holder that turns the power on to the room. So if your not there the ac is not running. Im sorry but im working 10 to 12 hour days I dont want to come back to a hot room. We booked 7 nights for all three rooms. We left after the first night and a week later still dont have our money back yet. The customer service is horrible too. It seems like the manager is never there. So I just called HR for travel lodge. Dont stay at this one!!!

Extremely dirty hotel. Staff is not friendly. Be very careful. They. Are crocket. Tried finding some excuse not to refund the money. We open the door and saw the filth thaths lingering in the air walls light switches covered in dust. Do Not Go There. You will thank me

Rooms are dirty, sheets are ugly. Found a syringe cap in my sheet and left right away. Girl at desk didnt care or anything. Dont waste your money.

This hotel has horrible customer service for breakfast had spoild milk elevater stinks carpet is so dirty the representative thats on the front desk has horrible people skills I would never stay in this hotel ever Im giving this hotel a poor review. Check out was at 1 and I ended up leaving much earlier then that.

They only gave 2 to 1 towles, some rooms had no fridge and other appliances and when asked they said tough luck.Pool was disgusting and owner was rude and refused a refund.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Terrible room service asked for two days to change the bed sheets because there was stains on the sheets! Awful customer service the person at the desk was sleeping and I had to wake him up so he can do his job this place is very unprofessional! Would not recommend to anyone!!!

Ive only been here a couple times ,but I guess I lucked out in room experience and all during my visits after reading all the bad reviews. I dont know how new the building is ,but it looks and feels newer. Staff was always sharp.

Aside from the steamy weather, Pharr Texas is actually a decent little town of about 75000 people. I found the Travelodge, while a bit pricey, to be of good standards. The internet was somewhat dodgy at times, but otherwise stable.If youre looking to indulge yourself on a great big breakfast, this is not the place to sleep. A decent continental breakfast is provided, however, and I found it to be quite sufficient, given the rest of the accommodations.One thing I cant stand about some towns is their ability to walk themselves into one brand or another and shun all other brands. In this case, the hotel, like McAllen Airport nearby, is completely devoid of Pepsi products. In fact, youll note that most businesses in Pharr, Texas, also carry only Coke products. How Coca-Cola achieved this stunning victory, I can only guess, but I found it annoying to say the least.If I found myself in Pharr, Texas again, I probably would stay at the Travelodge again. The front desk staff was courteous and professional, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the hotel did exactly what it said it was going to do in its online description.

We had to spend extra to rent out everything for an event we held with my work since the event center did not have a lot of the regular accommodations needed for an event, but its BEAUTIFUL and the staff is very nice

This hotel needs a total makeover sheets are dirty/stained. Someone is going to get sick in this place there is mold. Nasty never again.

We have stayed at Travelodge or now it is called Krystall Hotel, no problems what so ever. We are always there for about 1 week and we have no problems getting a room every year.

I really loved this hotel , Thank you for servicing quick and easy during check in. I had came from out of town the day I checked in and I was extremely tired , I was glad to had been serviced fast and with great energy .

This hotel is one of the best ones that Ive stayed in .. The employees are always there when needed. The front desk host Erica was awesome very polite and helpful.

Manager comes knocks on the door in the morning demanding 20 dlls for 9 minuets late check out time keep in mind no recipt was given so we decided after that to rent another night so we would not have to move hotels since we were not able to return hime that day fillowing morning manager and house keeping do the same demanding money at this tume we decided not to give management more miney they pushed us out of the way and did not let us take our belingings along with 280 dlls sitting on the counter they refuse to give me managers name and corprate phine bumber so finally i contacted corprate they took a report abd its been 2 days that they have not returned call so mgt i guess is stealung from ppl

The rooms are super nice! Theres a pool, gym, breakfast is included, and its pet friendly!

Isnt very clean, bad customer service they basically dont answer. We had loud neighbors wanted to leave but they dont refund.

Had a nice time until it was morning .. the people at the gym was just rude with the loud music didn’t let me or my daughter sleep ! They had the music like if they were at a freaking night club !

The service was excellent except for things that I understand are not in your hands to resolve such as the lack of internet, essential in these times, the first impression is not the best but upon entering the room it fulfills its purpose of providing a restful rest, simply Clean view but behind the furniture or under them there is a lack of cleaning which goes unnoticed if you dont drop something, towels that look like hand towels, I had to go buy some, but good for one night nothing happens. They have an excellent location. If they paid more attention to the details, it would be excellent for short trips.

An ugly thing, the dirty rooms, the burned and stained sheets, they dont clean them so they deliver them to you, there was marijuana residue on the table, the stained walls and the bathroom tubs should also be closed, 100% not recommended.

It literally lives up to its name, it looks like the Krystal Lake from Friday the 13th, to say that it is extremely neglected and has been dropped since it was a Travelodge, it is a bit poor maintenance in general, as well as a lack of cleanliness in all its hallways and to top it all off They didnt clean my room for a whole day, they would have at least made the bed and taken out the trash to hide it; and I give it one star because I cant give it less than 3

The internet does not reach the room, nor the dining room and there was no safe deposit box. I reported everything because I thought they could fix it but it seems to be something common.

Very good option for any social event, from a bachelorette party to a wedding, the room is very nice and they divide it when it is a medium-sized event.
