I love the staff at Nordine Reston. It’s not just a bright, airy location but the people there fit the space so well too. :) I’ve enjoyed getting my nails done by Stella, eyebrows threaded by Shanaz, and hair done by Molly. The gang is all there and I love this place; it’s my salon and spa! :)
(Pictures Included)I went to this salon with virgin black hair and had the worst experience ever, twice.I told her I wanted my hair a natural medium brown, and I had lots of pictures to show (I included one of them in the review). I clearly said I don’t want any red in my hair. The first time, my hair came out very dark with some brassy highlights in my bangs.I cried and a couple others stepped in and tried to fix it. They kept applying toner to my hair but it stayed very golden and brassy. I talked to the salon manager and he apologized and told me to leave without paying and asked me to schedule another appointment with someone else to fix it.I decided to give them another chance and went next week. I had an appointment with another stylist. I spent the whole day for the second time there. She tried her best to fix my hair. It DIDN’T look like any of the pictures I showed her. Moreover, it doesnt even look good: damaged and mismatched.I also wanted to dye my hair extension to match my hair color. When I came to pick up my extension, it was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from my new hair color. I ended up paying $350 for hair that’s very damaged and a color I didn’t want or like.Yes, everyone is nice, but they’re not professional and didn’t admit they couldn’t give me the results I wanted. I regret wasting my money and time there: I hate my hair color and it’s very damaged. The best I can do is go to another salon to fix my hair and extension.
I love the salon. I love the people. Linda who did my hair was wonderful. She actually saved me from a really bad highlight job done a week before my daughters wedding! So I was panicked. She got me in right away. She did a fantastic job. Theyre all friendly. Its really comfortable not stuck up and snooty like some places. I would definitely recommend this!!
Stella did a great job on my mani pedi, but $120 is on the higher end for me (that says something since I’m used to San Francisco prices).
Hansun was wonderful. She was so kind and caring. I am so happy to have found my new salon.Update: I had my first massage. I got a 60 minute deep tissue. It was well worth it. I feel like my body just fits together a little bit better now. I will definitely be going back for more.I also had a facial with Stella, and it was wonderful. I felt so refreshed and relaxed. It made a huge difference in my skin as well.
I had a wonderful experience at Salon Nordine in Reston Station! I follow Ani around because she is a fantastic stylist, so when she told me she was going to this new salon closer to my home, I made an appointment! The parking is within the Kiss & Ride at the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station, with great signage directing you and validation at the salon for up to 3 hours. The salon is accessible right from Reston Station Blvd, and when you enter it is bright, open and gorgeous.Lupe washed my hair and spent at least 10 minutes massaging my scalp, which felt so good. The chairs at the washing station recline, elevating your legs, and have kneading massagers within them working on your upper back down to calves, which was a lovely bonus. As I mentioned earlier, Ani is a wonderful stylist, and I trust her to take care of my hair. She listens and communicates well on cut and style. She is excellent at what she does and always leaves me feeling fresh and glamorous!I would absolutely recommend Salon Nordine at Reston Station!
I got my haircut from Wendy at Salon Nordine in Reston. She did absolutely a fabulous job. I had a short haircut and its not a usual style and I dont think any stylist can get it right. But Wendy cut it so well and understood what I wanted so well. She also made sure every move or every layer fits my face. Im very pleased with how she treats her customers and how she takes her job seriously so the outcome is superb and the customers are happy. I strongly recommend Wendy if you want to get a great haircut. Im pretty sure you will leave the Salon very happy.
I have come to salon nordine for a few years for cut & color and I’m always happy with the results! However they do not communicate pricing with you upfront. My partial highlights and trim last week cost $355 before tip. Partial highlights is the cheapest thing you can get so I was a little shocked. This is significantly higher than any other visit and I wish it was communicated. However, their stylists are super talented and I always love how my hair turns out.
The salon is clean and the people are nice, but it is incredibly overpriced. I have dark hair and wanted the gray roots covered and the color pulled through the ends to even out some of the red or brassines. I also wanted a trim. I was charged for THREE colors totaling $400 for the color and cut. It looks exactly the same color except for the roots and took over three hours. Honestly, it’s actually more red instead of brown now. I’ve had blonde highlights put in for way cheaper and faster. The cut was on point at least. I also got an average mani/pedi with SNS for the mani which cost $196 without tip. There is Nothing so exceptional with this business and it’s stylists to justify the pricing. Plus. the overall experience is not luxurious by any means, although the person who washes your hair does a great job with a scalp massage, but you are expected to tip him as well as the stylist. They don’t even offer wine like most luxury salons do. Don’t recommend.
I would not recommend for eyebrow waxing. For 32 dollars I would have expected better quality of service. My eyebrows look completely different from each other. I politely asked her to fix it, and they still did not look even. You’re better off going to a nail salon. When I went to pay no one was at the front desk. The employees just looked at me. Did not tell me anyone was coming or anything. This was not a pleasant experience.
When I called over the phone to ask about pricing, they told me $100 for haircut, shampoo and everything. Perfect! I go in, have to wait 20 min to get my haircut started. The lady I had was going BACK AND FORTH between me and another women getting her hair colored. I thought, this can’t be normal… it was quite annoying and at times, had a brush just in my hair while I waited. To top it off, when I was done, went to the counter, they asked how it went and I told her that it wasn’t great considering my stylist was going back and forth every 5-10 min between me and someone else and the receptionist had the audacity to say, “Oh I didn’t notice, I’m sorry,” when there was literally only 4 people in the salon, including her. Then she proceeded to charge me $130. Um what? I asked, does this include tip? She said no. Then I said “well when I was over the phone I was told $100.” Then she told me it was an extra $25 to blow dry and straighten. Ummm, I then said “okay again, I was told $100, obviously I can afford $5 but I wasn’t told I would be paying $130.” She said okay and then proceeded to charge me $105. Really? It’s the principal. I can afford obviously if I’m already paying $100, $5 more. But after the experience I had and the lie of an answer I was given on the phone? Come on.
I have been going there for almost 2 years now and they knew how to do my hair and have been doing a fantastic job until my most recent visit. They threw an inexperienced hair stylist at me and the experience was painful! My shampooing and the haircut was painful to endure because she didn’t know what she was doing. Didn’t offer me for any refreshments and after the whole ordeal was done I had one of the crappiest haircut of MY LIFE!
Bait and switch at its best. Beware of their unethical behavior. On my visit today I was told root color treatment would cost $95 but could be more depending on the hair length. At no point did my stylist inform that the price would increase 100%. So when I got to the desk to pay I was shocked by the $210… of course plus tip. This is my first and last time at this place and I recommend you find your else a more ethical salon to visit.
This place is wonderful! Expensive, but youll get what you pay for. I went on a whim after getting off work early one day to get a haircut. While I was there I decided to get color too. I wasnt 100% sure what I wanted to go with so I was kind of thinking it through while I was there. It seemed to make the stylist a bit annoyed but regardless she did an amazing job doing something great. Took several rounds of bleaching to get my hair to the color I wanted but she was extremely patient in making sure that it looked great. While laying in the seat for the hair washing station, the seat fully reclines and it gets even better when it starts massaging you! Such a unique idea. Finally at the end, I went to pay. While it was expensive, it was expected thanks to the awesome updated amenities and amazing end product. I was extremely happy I decided to go here and while I probably wouldnt be able to come here all the time sure to pricing, it will be a great treat to come again in the future!
I love this salon. I go to the Reston location. I recently moved here from Texas and was dreading finding a new stylist. I had been with my previous one for 8 + years. I found Laili and couldn’t be happier! She always has me looking fabulous. The salon and is very clean and modern. They have massaging chairs when you get your hair shampooed. They are fabulous! I also get my nails done here too. I see Mariam for that. I am beyond pleased with the services I receive here. I highly recommend them both.
Great place if you wanna feel like an uninvited intruder. Sahar is great in treating your head like a basketball with pulling your hair out, banging your scalp with tools, scratching and poking the entire time. She also will NOT consult the color before applying it on your hair and will NOT bring you any water even if asked. Ive never experienced such aggressive and rude treatment before. I still left the tip but I know it was not deserved at all. My first and last time at this place ever. Good luck
I got highlights done by Anni, and they look fabulous! Prices are about average for the area, but you get a lot more perks at this salon than the typical shop in Reston/Herndon. Massaging chairs at the wash station are a definite plus, and the interior decor is very posh. The bonus of it being a full service salon meant I was able to get my nails done at the same time as my color. Perfect for my schedule!
I just got back from my first—but certainly not my last—visit to the new Salon Nordine at Reston Station and had to write a review. Anni is awesome! She is so sweet and did such an INCREDIBLE (yes, all caps incredible) job on my highlights and cut. She really listened and gave me exactly the type of layered bob I wanted without giving me a major chop, knowing I want to grow it out a bit. And she got me back to the platinum shade that makes me feel like myself again. As for the overall vibe, everyone is so nice, and the shampoo chairs are the most comfortable shampoo chairs EVER. You fully recline, the arm rests are so wide and comfy, and it massages (and not in an annoying way like some pedicure chairs). Seriously amazing. Thank you!
Giselle is amazing! I went for a haircut since my hair is very dry she recommended a conditioning treatment and my hair feels silky!! Better than ever. Thank you :)
Honestly one of the worst salon experiences. My friend and I came in for manicures and pedicures. The receptionist (Hannah I believe) was wonderful and accommodating. The technician I had wasn’t very friendly (I did tip 20%) and not only did she not cut my toenails down correctly and made them jagged and sharp. Also I got SNS done on my nails and she tried to convince me how much better it was and left large bumps and the nails aren’t settled well. They are lumpy and not smooth and also not even. The salon was also freezing and I would not recommend this at all. The most I’ve ever paid for a manicure and pedicure and it was horrible. I get my nails done all the time and this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had.
We happened into this salon by chance. After our stylists cancelled our haircut appointment for our virgin, ethnic hair , we wandered in to see if there may be someone who could handle the job. I am a person who is usually overly controlling during haircuts because often stylists cut way more than I want. So, to walk in blind and take someone without research was a leap. This experience quickly became a reminder that all things happen for a reason. Sahars patience and professionalism quickly put us at ease. She gave us awesome cuts, even better than we anticipated with our originally planned stylist! She cut just the amount we wanted and a great style, even without our providing any pictures! Bravo! Not only would I return, I would recommend to a friend!
Salon Nordine have moved from Reston TC to the new metro location. The new location offers a lovely bright clean environment. Everyone is welcoming and friendly.Miriam & Shanez are absolutely delightful to work with. They are a team of two sisters who offer great advice and accommodate your every need. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the whole experience they provide to anyone. They take great care of your comfort and always provide the client with what you want.
Nordine salon is amazing! Beautiful location and atmosphere. Very modern and up to date.Laili is an artist when it comes to coloring my hair! Her technique and talent is spectacular! I highly recommend going to her for all you hair needs.
Cant recommend this place for manicures. My nails are thin and weak to begin with, so I was a bit horrified when they took a Dremel-like tool to the top of my natural nails to smooth them down. I know I probably should have said something, but the difficulty I have with that is part of the reason I dont visit salons often. Once I find someone I like, I wont go anywhere else. The woman was also rude and ignored me when I tried to ask her not to pry at my nail chrome container with scissors. My nails ultimately did look very pretty, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt like it wasnt worth the cost. I would gladly pay what I did, or more, if it werent for the rudeness and damage to my already fragile nails.
I went in to get my hair done and was immediately greeted by a wonderfully kind and attentive man. I later found out he was the owner, Nordine. What a polite and welcoming person and I can say that even after his departure, the team he left behind was just as warm and welcoming. I had a positive consultation with Laili and felt listened to about what I expected for my hair because I have a wedding coming up and need the length to remain. After she foiled my hair, Lupe washed my hair and gave me a scalp massage as I lay in the most COMFORTABLE reclining, massage chair. I usually get a neck ache having my hair washed at other salons. I left Lailis chair with an amazing haircut and beautiful, natural color and my hair was silky without any excess product. I then proceeded to Hansun to get a full set of SNS nails and a pedicure done - Hansun was attentive and polite and did a wonderful job..... Both of the aforementioned services were so amazing that I asked about the $95 facial promotion and I stayed on to have Fariba do the facial and microdermabrasion. WOW. I was a complete puddle of happiness after all of this. My skin went from looking like an OLD OAK to looking as fresh as a young sapling! What a fabulous day. Its a clean, elegant and very customer service oriented spa and I made appointments to go back for another facial and of course an SNS nail fill plus pedicure. I also booked another appointment with Laili for my hair in six weeks. I highly recommend - you wont be disappointed!
I walked into Salon Nordine thinking my hair had no hope. I left with beautiful, healthy, restored hair. Jennifer Grissom had her work cut out for her with my severely damaged, bleached hair from a mishap at another salon the week before. I walked in not totally believing her when she said she was the hair doctor. After a color correction, keratin treatment and a fantastic haircut my hair looks like hair again!
Eyebrows: I have depended on the same esthetician for 12 years! I am Puerto rican & Italian, I have thick, dramatically arched eyebrows and I live in fear of someone butchering the natural line. I was pleased with Nasreen (spell check I am SO SORRY). She understood and was empathetic to my overly sensitive approach to my eyebrows. However the end result was just not the what they normally were, it was too rigid in some areas and an overall messy line. The front desk was more than helpful with me being right on time (my own fault-- just park in the free parking garage across the street or pay for Mortons valet, both are super convenient to get to this salon!) They offered to take my coat. I was walked downstairs by Narene (spell check :( ) and it was lovely downstairs too!! I would definitely recommend this salon for spa services because of the ambiance. Some salons you get the feeling that the Spa section is simply separated from the noisy gossip by a sliding glass door or worse, not this salon! It feels like a different world downstairs. This could be a pro or con for you, for me this works best : We discussed what I wanted/needed. We agreed. She went to work and did not stop until she was done. Then she sat me up to ask what I think. I have a pet peeve with estheticians that stop and ask me how to do my own eyebrows- if I knew I wouldnt pay the money to get them done every two weeks!! I know what end result I like, NOT how to get there, Nasrene (again spell check SO SORRY) took complete control and she was/is completely competent.Hair: Cut/Blow dry a little more than average if youre not from Northern Virginia, but you pay for the location & comfort. Not to mention attentive customer service. (Hello! The owner himself will respond on any social media venue ASAP! Thats 24/7 customer care) I worked with Jenny. On Valentines day I walked in with big curls falling down my back. I loved my hair to begin with, and I know how to do it myself but I knew I was hiding unhealthy split ends! So, she said shed do her best to make the blow out look like the curls I wanted but warned me that I may have to get a style done (not sure how much more this would have cost?) to ensure I get the full body curls I was looking to have for that ever important date night.Note on the stylist: She is a lovely woman, truly. Exactly what you look for in a stylist, if you want to talk shell listen, if you want to have a conversation, shell talk back, if you want to be silent, I think shed understand that too and wouldnt make it awkward.I was greeted by the front desk reception, they offered to take my coat, Thank you! (finally real service in a salon again) and offered a drink. (I asked for red wine- and no judgmental looks were exchanged at 12 in the afternoon!) I dont know how this would work with one front desk reception woman juggling so many tasks if the salon is very busy but on Valentines day she was more than capable! After speaking with Jenny for 4 minutes and greeting each other I was taken back to Mimi for my shampooing. Theyll set your wine down on the back room bar for you, sit you in the shampoo chair, and then once youre comfortable lay the chair down. Mimi will go harder/softer and take her time if you ask, she was very attentive. Must say- wish I had been asked for choice of shampoo so that I could decide what my hair smelled like that night... (note to self for next time I am there!)Then she was quick and prompt and with plenty of warning she began cutting. Jenny did as promised and did her best to deliver big curls like I had walked into the salon with on my new hair with nothing but a blow dryer and round brush. She did great. She offered that if I straighten my hair and find anything at all out of place I return to her for her to fix whatever I might find. I have yet to straighten my hair but it is healthy and gorgeous.
Molly Dean is incredibly talented!! I haven’t had anyone else color my hair in 10 years. I drove 3 hours several times to have my hair done by her :) run don’t walk to see Molly!
Ive had a handful of stylist over the years at Salon Nordine Reston - always been impressed with the styling and cut. Although, I really keep coming back for is the waxing. Nasrin is a goddess. I take eyebrows very seriously and have been driving over an hour to see her for over 8+ years. Not to mention her renowned facials and skin advice. My skin beams now, THANK YOU NASRIN!!! I dont trust anyone else with my skin and waxing. I HIGHLY recommend this salon.
By far the worst experience I have ever had at a hair salon. I was there for close to 4 hours and my hair stylist maybe spent all of 25 minutes (and that is generous) on me. She told another girl what to do, practically ripped my scalp when working with my hair.I asked for a light dirty blonde and the outcome is an orange blonde. She also proceeded to explain that once I grow up I will stop dying my hair so much. When I said I didnt want anything else done and I was going else where she proceeded to say she is trying to save my hair. After 4 hours of bleaching and stripping I didnt feel comfortable and I left.By far worst salon and I would never recommend to anyone. For an establishment that is suppose to be a top notch place, the people were rude and unprofessional.
Eric Sabine has been highlighting, cutting and styling my hair for years. I have followed him from his days at Dessange at Tysons Corner to Nordines in Faifax and now also to the Reston shop. I am always pleased with the way he colors, cuts and styles my hair. He always has a positive attitude. It is a pleasure to have my hair done by Eric. Also, the new very modern shop at the Wiehle Metro Station is convenient with plenty of free parking in the parking ramp next to the kiss and ride lot.
Alicia is simply the best! She can do long, short, highlights, sleek, textured, and every time it looks FABULOUS. And uses products that does not harm my hair. She is AMAZING, the best stylest Ive ever had. On top of it she is so fun and genuine. Its a great experience!
Carla at the front desk is super sweet. She makes you feel at home. II love Selina. She is an amazing colorist and master cutter and stylist!
What a beautiful salon in every way. I have had the pleasure of experiencing highlights and now a facial both of which I am so happy with and thanksfuk for. This salon is my new home for all my beauty services. I highly recommend every service they offer with confidence.
Meryem did a great job on my nails, she suggested the dip gel and I LOVE IT! The salon is very trendy, staff is friendly and they do microblading! Definitely making this place a regular spot for me.
This was the worst pedicure experience I have ever had. I booked a signature pedicure which is supposed to be 75 minutes long. I arrived at the salon at 5 pm and left the salon (drying time included) at 545. My technician didn’t speak one word to me the ENTIRE time and just walked away from me when finished. The front desk receptionist was very nice and changed the price to a regular pedicure due to the very poor experience.
$$$$Terrible place. Went on my BD thought I would pamper myself. Big mistake. My facial broke my face out.The shampoo woman washed out my perm, I had to come back to have it redone and was charged full price for the redo. They have horrible service. They tried to sell me hundreds of dollars of product but I asked could I return these if they dont work they stated NO! I will see only Leigha but she left and I will never return there again.
If you want to go to an overpriced spa this is for you. If not, please avoid. I was charged double what I would be charged for a simple eyebrow wax. Ridiculous pricing.
I have been Faiba’s client for several years started at Red Door Spa and now at the Nordin Salon.I had a facial with Fariba at Nordin Salon recently. She is a true professional and I left with a wonderfully smooth, soft, and nearly blemish-free skin.Fariba is extremely well-organized, detail-oriented, and personable in her approach to skin care. The time she takes to explain all aspects of the treatment demonstrated true mastery. She has been highly recommended to my friends and family members. I am looking forward to another treatment in the near future.
Laily did an amazing job on my hair! My highlights looked beautiful and it only took her about 30 minutes to do my whole head. Highly recommend!
If you’re going to get a mani/pedi at Nordine you NEED to book with Hansun! While my friends had a miserable experience with their nail tech’s, I had a great SNS manicure. Hansun made sure I had the color I wanted, was very delicate, very friendly, and made sure my nails were perfect and I was happy. I’m very picky when it comes to my nails, but I have nothing to complain about! BOOK WITH HANSUN!!
I just went in for a Mother’s Day massage (a gift from my husband) and got stood up by a masseuse named Candy. I waited 20 minutes for her to appear, but she never did. The receptionist was very kind to call her and ask, when she will be back. From the looks of it, it wasn’t any time soon, so I decided not waste any more of my holiday on this person. This one star is dedicated to Candy and her professionalism.
I got my nails done here the artwork was not as expected i cant rember which specialist saw me she didnt file my nails down as much as I usually have done I got gel and it pealed off withing 2 weeks. I payed 78 dollars wouldnt recommend.
I have been here a few times since moving to Reston. I love the staff, they’re all polite and very professional/accommodating. I’ve had a great haircut and coloring from here. So happy to have a regular place to go to nearby!
Had a wonderful facial today at Salon Nordine’s newest location in Reston (Wiehle Metro station). Fariba Hejazi is a Master Esthetician and she is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to you. My skin felt much more smoother, softer and was glowing.
Looks sleek, clean, and modern. I called to ask about getting a consultation for bridal makeup and was told they would get back to me. Didnt receive a call back or anything. When I went back to enquire I was told that the makeup person would be out of town. I asked if they had anyone else but they said no. A bit disappointing.
Great experience! It was my first time at the salon and everyone was super friendly and very courteous. Highly recommend Stella, Hansun, and Selina!!!!
Molly Dean and the rest of the staff are amazing! Theyre warm, welcoming, and professional. Highly recommend!
I had my hair highlighted and cut by Linda. She did a great job and the entire team was amazing!
Love getting my hair and lashes done here! Molly is the best!
Had a great experience with Sahar. Got my haircut couple days ago. I love it and keep getting compliments. Thank you
The pedicure and manicure is too expensive. It was just basic and cost over 100$.
Love my new sophisticated cut! Sahar has the skills and magic touch I’ve been looking for.
I expected better quality of service for the balayage.
I also had a deep tissue massage that left me completely relaxed. Thank you Isa!
Eyebrow threadings are the best there and the staff is super nice.
Very lovely friendly staff who do hair tremendously. Simply the best!
Everyone very welcoming. Good work done. Lovely facilities.
Love my girl Molly! Highly recommend!
Knowledgeable friendly stylist. Clean salon.
Excellent service. Soon is the best!
