I was an early 80s punk rock kinda guy in New York City. A7, CBGB, Great Gilsersleeves, 2+2, etc. While those times can never be duplicated, TV Eye was kind of a cool throwback to those days. The outside hangout area is even an added bonus. My suggestion is that you follow TV Eye on social, then when you see an upcoming show that you think youd enjoy, you should give TV Eye a shot. Or maybe just ignore this review in its entirety and crawl back under your rock.
After several visits to this Queens-based gem, I gotta say: This is the place to be in NYC. TV Eye is a veritable mecca to all that is subcultural & cool. This Sunday I saw my homies from the Flying Luttenbachers backing the legendary Lydia Lunch in an intimate, blisteringly loud soiree. What a perfect venue for the show, the sound was proper, the room is sexy & dark, the bar & outdoor patio area a pleasure to peruse…
I was really satisfied with TV Eye! Theres a bar in the front, a connected middle bar, and even a small bar in the venue room. Prices were very fair, there werent any cans over $6, and the beer/shot combo is a good deal. The side yard was also very nice for hopping out in between sets and the group this place attracts is very pleasant and hospitable. I will be looking for more shows at this venue for sure.
This place has a cool, low-lit mid-century bar atmosphere, helpful staff, and some decent sound for a small venue; definitely some of the best small-venue live drum sound Ive heard at a powerviolence/grindcore show.
An ideal music venue with GREAT sound. The decor is on point, there’s a film Photo Booth, burgers, it’s spacious, and they serve Narragansett tall boys. Worth driving from New England to see a gig.
Come for the music, stay for the waffle fries. Perfectly crisp, not too oily. Seasoned just right. Have the waffle fries if you ever come here to party.
Cool space with two bars, lounge areas, outdoor patio & backroom with stage for shows. Good crowd.
Drinks were cheap for a music venue. Crowd was sooooo friendly. Only problem was the sound system. It was a crowded room and lots of speakers. Ear plugs a requirement and they charge 2$ for then. Otherwise 5 stars!
This is probably one of my favorite spaces to come to. The drinks are lovely, the food is incredible, and the staff is wonderful! My friends and I always have the Habanero Mango frozen margaritas, I simply can’t get over how delicious it is! The pulled bbq jackfruit nachos make my mouth water just thinking about it! Anything from the food menu is a must have. I love the uniqueness of each restroom too! You must give this spot a try! I absolutely love it. 😍📺👁
Awesome spot! Outdoor space, two bars, and a performance space with good sound and an intimate feel. There’s also a secret room based on a set from The Shining - I only caught a glimpse! I would describe the overall vibe as “upscale dive bar,” which means I was instantly comfortable. Looking forward to returning for more live music!
Went for a music event, at the start it was very packed but to my understanding there was another event before mine so the current event had to end before the other began. The drinks were a fair price granted all I ever got was Cider. The event was fun and I had a good time, this spot mostly cater to hipsters as it was in Bushwick
This venue has an eclectic vibe that just feels right for the punk / grunge scene. They have lots of events like an erotic art show recently and punk cover bands coming up this month. They have outdoor areas as well if you need respite from inside.
Kirin on tap (no hangovers from rice beer) and sound is really good.
Great venue. Good underground shows, kareoke, or just a good bar to have drinks and listen to music. Staff is friendly and on point.
I love playing with my band in this place its always a good atmosphere
I love this place. Great spot for shows and to just hang out - especially if you’re a musician.
Absolutely wonderful place the bartender was amazing. The t shirts available for the place itself were amazing. The vibes were immaculate very welcome safe space for trans people. Felt extremely comfortable and happy there. Space is very big. Outside area is huge packed full of people and still plenty of space to sit and the inside has 3 separate spaces and a huge bathroom. The dance area is super nice, the bar area was lovely and cozy and the front area was popping too. Cant wait to go back absolutely loved it so so much.
One of my new favorite venues. Theres usually a space issue with smaller venues in NYC but this place has a decent amount of room, both by the stage and at the main bar. I like the outside area too if you need to cool off. Cool bartenders, good drinks, great atmosphere. Definitely looking forward to more shows here!
The food & cocktails are great. Staff is super nice. The venue is fantastic. I will say if you want to record a set or have pics taken, CLOSE THE STAGE DOOR. It takes away from the ambiance.
I love this venue a lot, its really close to my area and convenient to get to. The music that plays here is amazing and the venue is nicely designed with lots of seats and good food. However yesterday I was racially profiled by a white bartender, he refused to take my drink order three times, getting another bartender in place to take my order. The first time he did this I was waiting for 5 minutes and he was the only person in front, thats fair I can wait as long as I need to.However a group of white women could walk up to the bartender and immediately get served, Id have to wait and hed call another bartender to take my order. When a female bartender saw me wait a while she offered me a drink on the house which was appreciated, however upon closing out (the male bartender was the only one in front again, refused my order to take white womens orders and got a Latino bartender in the back to do it), I got charged full price.I love this venue a lot but the bartenders can be discriminatory. Not sure if Im coming back after this, it was very embarrassing and disrespectful getting ignored because of how I look. I never had this problem in any other venue so irs real disappointing that it happened at one I loved going to.
The food is amazing. Best chicken nachos Ive ever had. It takes a while, but when you get the food you feel the love they put into it. The cooks are nice guys and communicate well. Ill be back!
Really solid bar and venue space! Theres a large backyard with a side kitchen that serves pretty great texmex food, vegan options available
We came here on New Year’s Eve, what age way time we had! The crowd is amazing, the place is big, the music and vibe it’s everything!Affordable and good beer selection! They always have something going on, loved it!
Awesome place, good d and staff. Have a good time here with friends❤️
Nice spot cheap drinks cool backyard and yummy food
They have a great variety of shows; punk, funk, goth, 70s for cheap. And after a free dj set. The dance floor is huge. With two disco balls! Sadly the last few times I have visited, after the performances, and the dj starts they are not on the beautiful dance floor. They are set up at the bar. Its just confusing to me why they dont stay in the huge dance space? Where I could and want to dance. The bar itself is beautiful. Completely wraps around. And they have water pitchers set up. Also a great outside space and vegan bar eats.
Might be my favorite venue in the city; great sound, cool space with an outdoor area, excellent food and courteous staff. Like five minutes from the subway so its not a crazy hike either.
Great place to play...or to see a band. Good PA and sound dude, handy dressing room right off the stage, food right there, a little parking for bands...what more can you ask? Oh and Karaoke some nights!
Pretty good venue for all types of shows. Just saw Bazooka and other dope bands. Follow me all over the internet: Lord of Emotion all over the internet. I do a lot of recommendations.
2 rooms are cool & bar is great but they just need to upgrade the lighting and bass system as it was about average. When I was there last it had a cool rocker vibe, classic 80s inside. everyone seems chill and bartender’s are great!
Oversold. Felt like 50% more people in the room than could hold and 100% over fire code. Great performs but more jammed than a subway car during rush hour.
Saw a show there the other night three distinct areas. Back room where show was with tiny bar not being used and stage very cute and fun show. Bar area tables and bathrooms seems welcoming and open. And then the outside yard or pen. It seemed this was where many people had gathered. I would go back and would recommend for a show or gathering. Not sure about drinks or prices. I dont drink
The absolute coolest live music club in the city.
Missed one of my favorite bands play because the line to get tickets checked was completely ridiculous .. and that was inside after having our IDs looked at , so i just wonder like why couldnt we have gotten wristbands there ? showed up an hour after doors which is usually the move in the city but i guess for this place be careful with that . otherwise a great spot for hardcore shows
Fun venue; didn’t try food but looked decent as far as options
Its really good. they even sell soup and waffle fries through a door
Wonderful venue for live music with an appealing outdoor area for hanging out between sets. Surprisingly good food, as well. And, staff and fellow patrons are friendly, the whole package here!Absolutely delighted to have this venue as part of the NYC live music scene.
I came for the Beezlebub Art Fair. The bar is pretty cool. Low lights, plenty of space, red vinyl decor and a chill ambiance. I’d like to come back again.
Last weekend my friend purchased an $8 beer with her card. When we got home she checked her account and it shows the Bartender charged my friends card $27.19 ????Contacted bank the next morning and they explained sometimes the card will be overcharged for authorization and then adjusted for correct amount later, however it has been a week and the payment has been processed and taken out as of today 2/8. **In process of reversing that charge with bank**Very upsetting as we were not able to go back to the bar to address the issue in person.
Great venue, Great Bartenders. Nice way of splitting up spaces to take a break and see the entertainment. Burrito window is a plus.
Great sounding place! Thank you house sound engineers! Love my shirt too.
TV Eye is probably my favorite ‘new’ venue in Brooklyn. New to me that is. I was told it opened right before the pandemic but has stood strong through the storm. The sound here is amazing, maybe the best I’ve heard in a long time! I saw a show there last night and it sounded like I was listening to a record. The stage is big and the venue room is a great size with a little bar in the back of the room. The front bar when you first go into the place is long and beautiful with a few booths and a coat check. It looks great and has a cocktail bar vibe, very laid back. The MIDDLE bar has a much tighter more traditional Brooklyn bar feel. The bartenders are knowledgeable, helpful and aren’t vibey (in a bad way) I really dig the staff here. Then outside is a whole other huge hangout space that even has food! I recommend the tacos and key lime pie. So good!As a musician, this is a great place to play. There’s a great backstage and private area for bands great backline and monitors. You’ve got to bring a crowd but the stage is high and the room sounds great. Also there’s a curtain so you get to setup and have a big reveal. Go to soundcheck and get your monitors and tones together! Again, the sound! Holy hell so good!
This place is great if you like espresso martinis and vegan nachos. And their shows are always lit. Great local bar with character and 60s-70s vibe (maybe even 80s on any given night).
Big S/O to Ross & for the friendly & safe neighborhood vibes, plus cooking us delish meals keeping everyone fed, sober & hydrated! God bless him, and grateful for this spot!!
Nice little venue for new bands. Staff was very friendly and so wer all the patrons. The were from various countries including Spain and Canada the headliner was a very good Montreal band named Béton Armé
Good venue. Great owner. Plenty of space inside and out. Decent beer prices. Watched a band of friends play there last week. Great local band support!
Cool vibes, cozy venue. Nice outdoor area to hang out. They have a taco kitchen too.
A nice place for a rock and roll show! Small but mighty. Good sound, good drinks. Inclusive atmosphere.
Love the bar. The sound setup. Everything is pretty cool at tv eye. Come for shows monthly. But The food guy has got to go.Why is it that everytime i come there and i order myself some food im left waiting over an hour for a cheeseburger???This has happened 3 times and its the same guy everytime. I confronted him last night and after 60 minutes i asked where my burger is and he just tossed $15 at me and some disgusting sandwich and mumbled something before turning his back to me. I get the dudes a stoner and what not but its clear this is a problem. I watched several other individuals over the course of last night struggle to have to wait over 50 minutes for a slider with potato chips in a garden with less then ten people.
One of the coolest bars in town, nicest staff
One of those spots that you think is made up when you see it in a movie— but Tv Eye is real. The scene is run by some of the music industry’s coolest cats, but it’s not so cool you get a shame nosebleed— it’s inclusive and chill. The neighborhood is pretty safe— even now. Have fun, my little angels. Music, eats, drinks, ineffable cool
My first visit to Tv Eye was wonderful, as were the people and service; but, once I paid my tab, the bouncer was incredibly disrespectful to me while ordering my Uber and proceeded to put his hands on me shoving me out of the bar around closing time. I felt violated; his behavior was very inappropriate, and it was extremely cold outside. Im shocked; Ive never encountered a problem like this before.
Great bar and venue, solid food and outdoor space and good nonalcoholic opts as well.
Amazing and beautiful venue with a backyard and yummy but expensive american-mexican food.
An incredible new gem located right in Ridgewood! With an insane line up of bands, New York’s best vinyl spinning DJ’s brought their curated to perfection records with everything from soul, Motown, rock, punk, and groovy B-sides effortlessly kept the crowd dancing. The venue featured beautiful multi-room bars to suit any mood for the night- cozy booths that can fit groups of people , unique themed bathrooms and a hand painted bar- everything created by talented local artists, the venue also had food- the chef was working nonstop and everything looked so delicious! I’ll basically be living here for 2020 and beyond! Bravo!
Cozy bar with good booth seating, nice outdoor space and fun place to catch a live show. Similar stage setup to Mercury Lounge, but dont need a ticket to the show to hang out at the bar.
I love this place. Affordable drinks. Food options. Good decor and patio. Lots of bathrooms and usually decently clean.
Immaculate vibes! If your able to ever experience, it won’t be a one time thing.
Probably my favorite venue in New York for smaller shows. The vibe is great, staff are always super nice, and the lineups they get are always rad.
Awesome! Great sound, Dj.And the guys frome the kitchen are awesome. Dont miss the jackfruit burrito 💓🔥
Great place to watch live bands..
This place is fantastic. The outdoor area has tables with good booze and great food. We did not see a show here as we are dealing with the Vid right now.
TV Eye has a cool atmosphere! Their stage set up and sound is pretty good too.
Always a great place to see local and touring bands. Staff is great, food is good, drinks are always amazing.
Great neighborhood venue. Friendly staff. Great outdoor area.
Kirin on draft and a fantastic biker/western/punk aesthetic. Nice outdoor space for a venue!
This place is a new gem in Ridgewood/Bushwick. I was really surprised for how big is it. Music was good ( rock, soul) and great atmosphere. Theres also a little kitchen that serves Mexican food.
Invite back those two guys spinning records on sep 4th!! They were incredible! Also great bar staff, big open place to dance and hang out. 5 outta 5!
Great space, sweet outdoors, beautiful bar, great music, awesome crowd, delicious food! All around a fabulous experience!
Great rock n roll venue. Sound system can handle punk rock bands
Very nice
Intimate venue for a concert. Friendly bartenders and good Mexican food in the back. Nice outdoor space.
I’m in love with this place. For discerning folks, it’s all that’s missing from NYC nightlife in one gorgeous spot. Great vibe, layout, drinks, and lovely folks running the place.
Family brunch was great, we had a blast! Looking forward to coming back for a Guerilla Toss later this month!
Great venue! Lots of space with three bars. Good overall energy to the place
The best place in the area for live rock music. Nice outdoor and indoor spaces.

This place is amazing, I took the trip out from Jersey City expecting a dive bar and it’s an amazing club. Worth the trip for sure. Totally a vibe.
Nice and cool place, You can just go to listen music or sit in the garden to drink ...... If you ar living around and board just come here 🙂
Good venue, but the portly bouncer kept interrupting us to talk about Star Wars Andor all night??? very annoying.
Great club with a live room a DJ with some of the best DJs spinning vinyl and an outdoor area

LOOOOOOVE TV EYE!!!! awesome to work with, amaaaazing food by barker and sons. Literally everything on point!
Cute venue, though different bartenders made different sizes of drinks for the same price, which was confusing. Would see a show here again!
I love this place. Also has food til late night.
