Bear Dive

I originally gave this place a 1 star rating after the way I was treated the first time I visited. Then I heard there was a new owner, so decided to give this place a 2nd chance. I must say that the customer service has improved dramatically! The bartender was friendly and actually paid attention to the customers! Security was much more friendly and welcoming as well. My only gripe is that they dont let you keep your card open. You have to pay for each item you order individually. Other than that, this place is WAY better under its new owner!

The bartenders are an asset to this place. I don’t think a large portion of people would come if they weren’t there. To be honest, the food quality has gone down significantly since new management andincreased price. Patrick and Ivan are the MVPs.

Bear Dive is a nice, low-key bar with great vibes located away from your typical LGBT+ hot spots (Badlands/Depot, etc.). I came to two of their gamer events, which were a lot of fun. TVs were set up with different consoles, like PS5, Switch, XBox, and open to anyone to play. A huge plus is the music is never too loud, making it a good place for conversations with friends.

I love the atmosphere here! The staff are always super friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. There’s a patio outside which is a huge plus too! I see that they promote a lot of events, so I’ll definitely be back for one of those!

I Love attending the live lip-sync shows on Sundays. The performers are awesome, Patrick the sole bar tender is so good at his job, Patrick is polite to everyone, (and everyone wants their drink now), and hes quick to fill both food and drink orders. I do totally recommend this place

Honestly had such a fun time here. The staff were all super friendly & polite, I met some cool people & the Halloween drag show was really fun. Excellent vibes, would highly recommend!

Happened to come in for the first time with my boyfriend on a karaoke night. It was a blast! The atmosphere is fun and unpretentious, the drinks are awesome (and inexpensive for the size you get) and the service is great. We definitely want to come back soon!

Cool, welcoming place to hang out. Big nightclub, party feel, with lots of loud music. Really nice owners and patrons.As lively bars go this gets 4 starts, but I dont like most bars, especially busy ones. Personally prefer quieter dive bars where you can have a normal conversation with another person over the music.

Have made this place my regular haunt for many months now and it always keeps me coming back. Affordable and very well-made cocktails, a relaxing vibe, and great bartenders and patrons. I can very confidently say this is my favorite gay bar in Sacramento.

Their new bartender, Jason, provides fast, efficient and friendly service. And even though he has many drag frenemies, he can still put on an amazing drag show and bring the good vibes! Bear Dive is so lucky to have him!

A most welcome addition to the Midtown, Akali and Mansion Flats neighborhoods! I think the food is high quality and delicious.The staff are very friendly and attentive. Great drink menu and the beer is served very cold. A great place to spend a afternoon with friends, relax, see old friends and meet new people.

This place is wonderful! Its a great little neighborhood bar that makes you feel comfortable and the bartender knows how to make some wicked cocktails. And he is beautiful with a calm personality and professionalism that makes you enjoy drinks here.

Love this place! Bar with kitchen and back patio, pool table inside as well as a jukebox. Staff is always kind and helpful, drinks are a little pricey but generous. LGBTQIA+ friendly as well!

My second home. Just know that I claimed the corner bar stool by the jukebox! Great spot for cheap, strong drinks and delicious bar food. Chill, inclusive vibe. The owners and bartenders (all the staff, really) are all super nice. And now open Mondays with happy hour (all days) from open until 7:00 p.m.

OMG.. than God they brought Karaoke back on Sat. nights. It went away and the bar died. As of tonight. 11/11/2023 ita back. It will take a while to get the crowd back.With a comfortable vibe, great music, good food, and friendly service, Bear Dive may be Sacramentos best kept secret. While it leans towards and LGBTQ crowd, judging from the mix of patrons during my visit everyone is welcome.

Amazing new gay bear bar. Awesome atmosphere with great waitstaff. The people are very friendly, the drinks are strong, and the location is perfect. Stop down for a great drink or some amazing food!

Met up with a couple of friends at this comfortable bar with two outdoor areas. Didnt have a chance to sample food, although Ill return soon to checkout pub grub. Drinks were generous and definitely appreciated.

GREAT new gay bar and added bonus that we live directly across the street. Strong delicious drinks, good food, and very friendly staff. Great addition to Midtown/Mansion Flats and the Queer Community.

The vibe was great, they even let us pick up what movie they put on the projector. The wings were also surprisingly good.

Attentive service, friendly staff, great food, ice cold and heavy poured drinks, its the perfect casual setting, fit to become your weekly watering hole. I had a great time on the patio, the ambient lighting and curated music was a treat.

I love everything about Bear Dive. The bartenders make drinks really well and their food is delicious. They have excellent prices and work hard to provide you with a wonderful experience. My favorite place in Sacramento!

Excellent karaoke on Thursday nights! Howard is a wonderful KJ! Patrick and Mars are fantastic bartenders!

Great outdoor patio with very nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and cocktails are even better. Service was great. I highly recommend this place for a socially distanced gathering.

I had a great time, they have a good vegan burger, great service, and I didnt stop smiling the whole time I was there.

Super friendly chill place to grab a drink and enjoy some very good bar food. I’m hopeful they play Packers games in season— if they do I’ll be there every Sunday ha.

Quaint 🍻Its pretty simple. Outdoor patio, indoor bar. Hasnt been terribly packed the couple times Ive been there, which is nice for socializing.
