2 star joint, only because its staff is nice that it gets 2 stars. If you like to smoke and drink this is the place for you.Plenty of cougars here if you’re into 65+ although it does make the bar look like a smoke stack so get ready for your drinks, food and clothes to smell like Marlboros.The bartender was great, can’t make drinks to well but he was fun to talk to. I’m not to sure they care but a few things I’d change; no smoking in the restaurant, there is a side area with Adirondack chairs that can be your smoking area.“Under new ownership” sign on the road under the Hippie Sign, to let people know it’s re-openedHire female hostesses that speak clearly and enunciate. Host was hard to understand.Fix the food menu to be more creative, looks like an Indian food restaurant menu.Get rid of the red tables and chairs outside and make them all high tops, view is to amazing to be sitting that low.Spicy margarita needs to be strained, having seeds in your drink kinda ruins it and the heat is in the seeds, so you don’t taste the drink.Get a blender for God sakes! Or a frozen drink machine! Imagine Fat Tuesdays on the outside bar where people can walk up from the marina on the weekends and order frozen drinks ITS FLORIDA AND HOT!More TV’s outside and promote using big fights, easiest way to get young money to your bar!This place should be packed, it’s so nice and the parking lot can handle the traffic.But more than anything it’s the joy of eating and enjoying the salty air, not cigarettes! Especially when you’re watching the staff smoke at the bar.But again this is just my opinion, if it helps!

Aces on the service, despite a few looking a little homeless, but they were on top of their game so really no complaints there. Patio was fine and the high top chairs were very comfortable, which is a rarity, and it was quiet with a nice view of the marina. There were two other rooms, one of which looked a bit club-like and I assume the area for live music, and the other was half patio & half bar and seemed like where the cool kids hung out. I see some reviews comparing to the old restaurant, which is ludicrous...totally different place...so dont listen to them. I will say, listen to those who say the food isnt all that! Tacos are something out of the high school lunch room and nothing fun about them. The candied bacon was a big hit with us, the chicken sandwich was average and the pasta salad was nothing exciting at ALL. Dont get it. Fries were basic. Some of the apps were your basic easy-to-make-and-fry tastiness and hard to mess up. Not vegetarian, but noticed not many options for those that are, which surprises me in this day & age. Its a simple thing to cater to that clientele. All in all, wouldnt make an effort to go back.

My friend and I went for a bite after a beach day , this was her 2 nd time and I agree the food was great ! They have live music 🎶 which was awesome 😎

Had a blast here. live music everyday, good food and they even have an Indian menu and only place on island where we can get food till 3 am. Good experience so far. Will be going there next weekend again.

The service is so amazing, the staff were super inviting and had fast service. They have bands every day that starts at 6pm and they sound amazing and create an amazing atmosphere. Kristy was my server she was super attentive and had a great attitude she deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!! Thank you hippie shack for an amazing night out! ☮️✌️

I’m on vacation with my family and drove past this place several times, and finally decided to go for dinner as it looked very much like my vibe. I walked into this place and it was everything I thought it would be. The people were so friendly and constantly checked in on how we were doing. The food was very good, portion sizes were not small at all, definitely worth every cent. The entire ambiance of the restaurant really set the mood for a good and happy night. When I come back to Florida, I will DEFINITELY be coming back to the Hippie Shack.

Excellent & impressive replacement for Sea Hags which we also enjoyed frequently!Similar layout as Sea Hags, similar menu & atmosphere.Great drinks, menu, staff, & comfortable setting!

Very friendly staff, name says it all hippie vibe, but the food was not up to par. Nachos were skimpy and cheese sauce too light, ordered hamburger got cheeseburger rare not medium. Frys were very very salty. They are new owners great location on water but they have to get themselves in order to have a food business, unless they are just a drinking nite spot. Wish them well but will only return if food can compete with surrounding restaurants.Hope they respond to reviews the ones Ive read are spot on.

If you are a smoker, this place will be your jam! If you are like me and smoke flares up your sinuses AVOID (even the outdoor patio is Smokey 🤮) Came for food and drinks, would have left but felt bad for the bartender because another table left, so we at least ordered a drink. Named the Hippie Shack but have Morgan Wallen on repeat. This is your sign 🚩

The reason we went was the supposed full band. This was a lie. It was a guy and a guitar. Service was slow. 10 minutes to get fried pickles which were okay as we watched our beer sit for 15 minutes before she noticed she forgot to bring them to us. Two meals came both short one entree.Wifes grouper was rancid. My cod was ok. Waitress was so slow we just sucked it up, paid and left. We didnt want to waste another half hour for her to figure it out.

Food was good, very fresh grouper, both basket and full dinner. Hostess was very attentive, waitress, Isa was good but too many tables. Overall they are still working out the kinks, but I hope they make it. Live music was really good, and not overbearing.

We checked out the new place and it was fun. The service is on point. The food was great and the band was setting up to start playing. Come hang out!

Absolutely horrible experience. Came inside and we were the only table in the entire place. First impressions were bad, employees sitting around a table talking and drinking. We were hungry, we thought we would give it a try. No no no, indian food was not edible, rice had no flavor, asked for no spice and it was so spicy we couldnt eat and left our plates completely full. Rice had no taste. The server was nice, but didnt offer anything but I am sorry. Wasted 115 with tip and went to McDonalds.. Should have known better when the lot was empty.. Sea Hags was amazing last year.. this place is horrible beyond words.. I cannot imagine it will last with no customers and its apparent why.

Great food and great service. Food came out hot and timely. Friendly waitress and manager. Great band. Really good food w good selection of options. Good value. We had blackened grouper, grilled shrimp, steak sandwich and sausage pasta marinara. 2nd time there and well be back.5Apr24Came back after it had been closed for several weeks. The absolute worst experience EVER. Band was great. Loud for a restaurant. The tables were missing and setting was weird. The cool menu was replaced w a basic bar menu. The service started out good but was failed by the kitchen. The food took forever and was wrong. They are clueless about blackened, as it is awful. Meals were wrong and late. 1 person was served 3 raw burgers. 1 persons food came after everyone had eaten. Was told no manager was available. I think our waitress quit as we could not get a bill. Wont be back.

Should be called hippy sh!t show. Horrible to non-existant service. Bartender offered a menu, and promptly forgot about us. We were the only ppl at the bar. Very dirty. Smoking allowed. Rude servers. Asked the hostess about Friday night, she had no idea, went back to her phone. We will never return.

We went there probably around 730 ish. The main dinning area was being set up for some kind of entertainment. We ate at the back bar. A bit smokey, and playing loud club music. Not what I expected from the Hippi theme. Hoping for 60s to 70s music. The food was very good. My wifes grouper sandwich was actually a nice piece of grouper. Being local we often finding restaurants substituting a cheaper fish. No Bueno! So we will come and see how this place evolves as they get going.

Had a Great evening listen to Live music of JC Unger. The staff was extremely friendly and our Server Rob was attentive to our needs and very helpful. Looking forward to going back again.

New Owners need to clean the place up to include door windows going out to the bar. Smells like cigarette smoke. Not impressed at all. Server was great.

Did not eat, but enjoyed the bars and the view. Indoor and outdoor bars, both with views of the intercoastal and bost docks. Bartender Adam was awesome! Will be back again!

Cool new addition to the neighborhood.We love a great dive bar and were regulars of Sea Hags so looking forward to trying out the new joint.Burgers were awesome all around and cooked to perfect temps (thx kitchen!).Server had been there for several weeks and knew the answers to almost no questions we asked of simple things on the menu and liquors they possessed. Additional training needed there.Black lights on display so wear your whites and nail polish that glows!Live music every night is a bonus!

What a vibe ! We sat outside to take in a breathtaking sunset over the Marina of Treasure Island. Cocktail menu did not disappoint and the food was a complete hit. Our server & bartender Jared was a breath of fresh air. I cant remember having such great food, service and total atmosphere at such a reasonable price. We have already planned to return to check out the night/live band experience. Love this place 🤩

I have been here multiple times since they opened up & tried something new every time. THE FOOD HERE IS PHENOMENAL!!!! Mid westerners will likely love this menu just as much as I do. They offer your typical beach eats but also gave a little taste of home for us transplants. The cheese curds, bbq chicken pizza, & wings all deserve 5 stars. My personal favorite so far is the Italian sausage sandwich with peppers and cheese. Love this place & will continue coming back!

The food was good. We had pizza. The downside was that they allowed smoking at the bar, and everything is open to the outside eating area.

If I could give this place a negative 5 star review I would. I have lived in St Pete Beach for 21 years. This place is awful. It was Sea Hags before becoming The Hippie Shack. The owner did not change the floor plan at all. Seems like they added a few strobe lights and colored lights for the dance floor to try to make is a 70s dance place. Very poor attempt. The worst part was the food!!! They practice deception by not putting the prices on the menu for the food items. I ordered two chicken tacos. The tacos were substandard and small. When I got my check they charged me $18 for two tacos. Outrageous!!!!! I can get 4 authentic tacos at Agave for $10. What a joke this place is.Response to owners response:I will never be coming back. $18 for two subpar tacos!! That is outlandish. There were no prices on the menu. I was happy to see other negative reviews about this place.

We stopped at 3:30 for a drink and a snack. We sat on the small patio and enjoyed our drinks and the fish spread. The fish spread was pretty simple, served with club crackers, tomatoes, lettuce, green onion. It was delicious!!!Service was great.

There is a reason there were 15 open parking spots at dinner time when every other restaurant was packed. We miss Sea Hags! Disappointed in the food and service

Drinks are above par and well priced. We had the salmon and grouper both were fresh and perfectly cooked. Very fiendly staff . I recommend the Woodstock Revival if you like Old Fadhions.

The shrimp scampi tonight was delicious with a nice side salad and yummy garlic bread. Love the band and that they have nightly music. They are not trying to be Sea Hags. Its a new experience, and its groovy

4 of us Stopped for lunch. It took forever to get service, had to get the manager to get service. Food was ok at best. Got chicken they we the smallest wings I ever saw. We sent them back and did not order anything else. Got roast beef sandwich and it was small and ok. Will not go back.

Drinks are great and I say this is more a bar atmosphere than a restaurant. Food was eh at most.

Smelled like fish inside. Music was Michael Jackson. All the boomers were dancing and seemed to be having a good time. They put up a Janis poster and some wooded beads and thought that made it a hippie joint, but thats certainly not the crowd or the vibe.

My biggest complaint is the food. Zero vegan options. Ordered the portobello sandwich without cheese. It was ok. Not great . Wouldn’t get it again. Providing vegan options these days is so simple. A big mistake for restaurants that don’t make an effort.

The food is amazing. We got the onion strings, cheese steak, salmon, fries, salad, and a Korean BBQ pizza. Everything was on point. I wish the music was a little more hippie styled (at one point a country song was on).

How can you have Sea Hag employees and not put their onion rings and peel and eat shrimp on menu? I’m from Midwest my whole life and I come to FL to eat seafood! So bummed out that Sea Hags is gone! I need a rum runner!!

Great place to chill, eat amd watch the sunset. The grouper nuggets were grea. My wife had a burger with fried green beans... amazing. Will definitely visit again!

Interesting concept. I dont think anyone under the age of 50 will care or get the concept. Food was bland and over priced.

Worst bar on St pete beach. Locked us out of the bar when we went outside on the patio, so we could not even pay our tab and didn’t apologize for doing so! Don’t waste your time or money.

Nice place to watch the sunset with a few drinks, super comfy VIP area, personable staff. The prime rib sandwich is my go to!
