Speak-easy feel with eclectic Italian disco music overhead (from bartenders personal playlist). Cocktails - well crafted. The grape leaves were delicious. Great place for a cozy date!

What an awesome, hidden gem! Met up with some new friends at a chill lounge/bar and could not have been more impressed. Justin, the bartender, made absolutely fantastic drinks, was super personable, and one of the best people Ive ever met when it comes to taking care of customers. Mac, the manager, was her own kind of special. I so enjoyed talking to her while just hanging out at Back Door. She was so sweet! You could tell she genuinely cared about her staff and her customers, which is exactly the kind of place I want to spend my time (and money lol).Their Pride drink specials were delicious, the food from Laziz was phenomenal- definitely try the falafel!!- and the vibe was everything you could want if youre looking to hang out and talk to friends in a comfy, welcoming environment, but still get to interact and meet new people. If youre in SLC, check it out!!

A funky little bar tucked away on Edison St. with a relaxed, cozy, intimate atmosphere. A great place to chill with some friends or someone special. You can order food from Laziz Kitchen (Modern Mediterranean). Its in the heart of a vibrant area between 200 S and 300 S that is expanding with bars, restaurants, cafes, etc.

This place has a great atmosphere, drinks and services. Its feels like a great place to start the night if your looking to move around downtown Salt Lake City

Absolutely amazing spot to grab some delicious drinks and tasty snacks. Super friendly service and fun location with lots of parking available in waking distance.

This place has one of my favorite cocktails ever- the Frosted Water Lily. It has such a good vibe inside. I’ve been pleased with the service each time I’ve gone there. Definitely recommend!

Nice intimate space with a few tables to have drinks and snacks. We just stopped in after dinner for a quick drink and were offered a table immediately with quick and friendly service.

We came in three nights in a row while visiting Salt Lake City. Everything we had was amazing from the drinks (we tried almost every single one) and the food. The dolmas were warm and delicious. The fries were hot and flavorful. The cauliflower was scrumptious. The only downside was when we came in on 4/4/23 the bartender/server was very unfriendly. He didn’t greet us, barely explained the menu when we asked questions and ignored us the rest of the time and we were the only ones in the bar.

Really liked this place. Small/chill, with good cocktails and a friendly bartender.

I had the good fortune of coming to Back Door twice in one week on a visit from New York, & I can honestly say I’m going to long for this place. The ambience is chic yet comfy, the drinks are expertly conceived & executed—but best of all is the service. McKenzie (Mac) & her gorgeous crew took great care of us ❤️‍🔥P.S. get the toasty sour xx

Its a charming little bar with cozy seating and clever cocktails and delicious food from Laziz. The three dip sampler is ideal for sharing. Zaatar fries pair perfectly with beer.

Yummy food, great drinks

Got lucky and we found a table right away. Im not sure if we would have waited if we didnt. Drinks are really good. We ordered some fries and he forgot to add them to the ticket, remembered and felt bad and offered them for free, but we needed to go. Besides that, everything was nice. Would stop by again, if they have a table.

This has become my favorite cocktail bar. The dim lighting, cushioned and cozy seating areas, and funky decor touches create a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. it was not too loud so its easy to converse, and the crowd was an eclectic and cool group of 30 and 40 somethings. I had the frosted water lily cocktail and its the best one Ive had in SLC. You can also order food from Laziz!

This bar is awesome! There are a few other spots in this neighborhood but Back Door is by far the best. Really interesting cocktails. Incredible service. Just a very cool atmosphere. You should go here.

An intimate setting with unique cocktails that quickly became some of my favorites in Salt Lake! The staff members were friendly and great at what they do. Highly recommend!

Darling speakeasy located behind the new Laziz on Edison in SLC. Lots of cocktails and mocktails in their cozy luxe space with the bonus of amazing food from Laziz.

What a cool little back room cocktail area!It’s in the back of Laziz, the Mediterranean restaurant. Entrance is in the alley. They had a smaller but well thought out and great liquor selection. Food was good, service was great.

Formerly Mortar and Pestle, the Back Door is an amazing little gem tucked on Franklin Ave. The newest Laziz location is opening this coming week in the front half of the building, with the Back Door Lounge in the back half. You can sit and order unique cocktails (I tried one that tasted like Pho and it was 😍) as well as order bites from Laziz. Very vibey and fun spot.

Walked in on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. Small, cute place, was one spot left for our party of 2. The wait staff was great and super helpful in recommending some cocktails based on our likes. The food was awesome. Will definitely come back again.

Visiting from out of town. Heard great things about this place so had to stop in. It did not disappoint! Lauren was our bartender - she was amazing! The drinks were very creative and delicious. The food was awesome as well. Highly recommend

Me and my wife used to come here all the time for a cocktail or two after a night out. We came recently and sat at the bar that sits 6 people and it took over 10 minutes to get a menu. The drinks were decent but we felt like an afterthought to the bar staff. We probably wont return and were very disappointed.

Didn’t get any food but Mac was an absolute rock star!! She can rock your socks off any time!

Great drinks I ordered two mojitos and was one of the best mojitos I’ve ever had. Service was a little slow. Looks like they were short staffed so I won’t count that against them. The location is prime downtown and the vibes are late night speak easy. Love it! Please go!

Great atmosphere, but the drinks were... not great. None of the six drinks in our party were balanced and the sazarac was nearly unpalatable. Service was also very slow and in two rounds we were forgotten twice. Someone finally had to go to the bar to ask for our check 20 minutes after requesting it - and caught attitude from the bartender for it.Its a shame, the place has great potential.

Best cocktails in SLC! Back Door is the place to go if you appreciate a cocktail crafted with fresh ingredients and great spirits by a bartender that has a passion for their craft. Our bartender, Mac, was very knowledgeable and a true professional! The atmosphere is perfect for an after dinner drink.

Really disappointing. My group tried about half of the cocktails on the menu and almost all of them were overly sweet/syrupy. Service was very slow (ie half an hour from ordering a drink to receiving it) because they’re understaffed.

I love backdoor! The bartender Charlie was great he recommended the yummiest drink excited to be back and try more!

This place is awful. There is a sign outside in the alley that says “cocktails this way” and on their Google listing they are listed as a Bar. However when we came in and sat down and told them we were just having drinks they kicked us out. When I asked why, the waiter said “because we’re not a bar, we’re a restaurant.” Okay, so then put “restaurant” in your google listing and maybe, take down the cocktail sign. I’ll never come back.
