My favorite Castro neighborhood bar, I’ve been coming here for well over a decade. I mostly love the musical nights, but it’s a friendly place to have a few drinks any day of the week. 2 for 1 happy hours and strong drinks make a winning combination!

My third showtunes night here. The big bartender by the bathroom is a mean drunk. Every time, does tequila shots off the top shelf in that dark blue bottle, and then stumbles around and yells at people. Good music and friendly crowd though.

Beautiful show on Thursday but the bar was giving us negativity vibes, they refused to give us a 3rd shot because it was within less than 2 hours. It was unnecessary, we were lit and it was our first spot, we werent even drunk. So annoying

I love this place. I come here all the time. Never on a Friday night. They do not play music that their poor dancer can dance to!!!! Bad music Friday night!!!!

Fun place to have a good cocktail for happy hour. Very good music on Friday after 5pm.

This bartender is the rudest and disrespectful, Asian hate crime human work in this bar. We will fight to get a justice soon .if you are the owner saw this , please contact us ASAP before the law suits !

If you’re looking for a chill vibe where everyone is welcome make sure to check this bar out. The bartender was amazing even after he told us he was off for the night he still made sure that we were okay while he did his side cleaning.

Everybody is in a good mood here. This is a great place to hang out with your friends.

Five stars for musical nights on Monday and Wednesday. Everyone sings along and it’s really fun. The rest of the time the bar is just ok, which isn’t entirely its own fault; the Castro itself isn’t what it once was either. But for the Castro I’d say this is the best and most legit bar along with Twin Peaks.

We stopped by earlier this evening, hoping to watch the Academy Awards. The senior bartender, I think his name is Steve, told our bartender that they would not be playing the sound for the Academy Awards show. We left and missed our friends. They were there and said they did play the sound for the Oscars. It was frustrating.BTW, the same bartender told us they weren’t paying the sound for the World Series and in fact we found out later they did.

Great bar, music, atmosphere, but unfortunately the front door guy tonight july 17th, was extremely rude and obnoxious twoards the two guests infront of me without any reason, trying to instigating them to start a fight with him, but they calmly just walked in and ignored his immaturity. If the management doesnt take care of this, they will lose their business, Im surely never will step my foot into thet placep if I see him in the front.

Many bars in the Castro are not that friendly to tourists. you get the feeling the regulars have been there years. Feels somewhat cliquey and Im not the first to say that.went to Thursday drag night and what a nice crowd. friendly , welcoming, great barman and a lot if fun. Highly recommended ! lovely hostess kept it all moving. friendly regulars happy to say hi to a,couple of Brits.

Quite literally the worst gay bar you will ever go to! Rude bartenders pulling attitude horrible music and bad drinks ! Overpriced I would never go here again!!!!

Worst drinks in the Castro, lmao do not come here to drink

My first night in San Fran having fun with friends then we got to this bar, ordered drinks with a skinny peach queen, I told him what I needed he had an attitude already, and said he could not hear what I said I repeated my order and he still said he did not understand my order, tried a 3rd time and he started ignoring me. I order my drink with the bartender next to him and he gave me what I ordered right away. Then the deaf queen saw me with drinks and walked out of the bar and confronted me telling me to pay him the drinks he made for me. I told him he did not made any drinks for me, but he still wanted me to pay 24 dlls to him. I was so upset and told my friend to finish whatever they were drinking and go to another bar because the bartender had me so upset and I couldnt be there when I was treated so poorly. On our way out I asked another bartender for the manager, he said there was no manager but he was on charge, I tried to explained what happened and he was so nice and asked me if there was something he could do to fix the issue. I told him no, but I just wanted the manager or owner of the bar to know the kind of people he had working there, he ruined my night, I felt discriminated and its just unacceptable to treat a stranger bad for no reason. I do not recommend this place, especially if you are a person of color.

The Edge has always had friendly and fun bartenders, so its popular with all crowds. Bears particularly congregate there. The decor has been changed a lot, but after a couple years it still seems unfinished. The owner deserve special recognition for hosting many special events and fundraisers with drink specials and beer busts. Its a iconic pub in the Castro for this reason.

This place is spectacular! There is always a theme night (Broadway night!) and Erick behind the bar is top notch. Everyone is friendly and drinks are strong.Ive never had a bad time here when I come in from out of town.

Here almost every Monday for Musical Mondays and love no cover and the great drink prices. The musicals playlist varies depending on who tips, so hope that someone with good taste is tipping! Drinks tend to be nicely strong for the price. Clientele is a lot of fun, especially on Musical Mondays...you can catch the Giants game alongside musicals if the game is still on.

This is A RACIST BAR! Unfortunately part of the staff are just mean people who cannot coexist with anything other than white beauty standard gays. I’m extremely disappointed with how businesses are being treated at this bar. Racist, elitist and even homophonic. Stay away!

Musical Mondays and Wednesdays are fun here. The play songs from musicals and people sing along to them. You can request your songs also! Drinks are cheap. Fun thing to do on a weekday night. It is usually fairly packed with people of all ages.

The worst experience Ive ever had at a bar. After getting my drink and it was way too strong- I put a splash of Gatorade that I had in my bag instead of having them re make me a drink. They freaked out and said that wasnt allowed- the waiter then literally threw the bill at us and said to come back when were more mature and can follow rules? LOL. Then the host came to the table when we were leaving and kept belittling and yelling at us over a Gatorade. I had just left a bar where my Gatorade was on the table the entire time. he also gave us someone elses card and charged someone else for our drinks which is clearly illegal. Will never go back here.

I live in Nashville and grew up in Huntsville, AL and have never been much of a gay club person but this one really surprised me. I went every night I was in San Francisco the first trip and visit when Im there. Theme nights and both friendly staff and patrons is a major change for me! Nashville has the typical drag bars with dance music, watered down drinks, and snobby twinks(or leering 65 year olds looking for a boy) but The Edge was none of those things! Random conversations, musicals sing-a-long, great drinks, friendly folks of all ages/size/gender/race and a fun place to be. I want to take this place home with me!

Friday night. Small group of friends. SJ to SF? Ok.My friends and I wanted to check out a different spot around Castro. Instead of hitting up the usual places we dance and drink at for a casual or crazy night of fun, we paraded ourselves over to The Edge.Friendly bouncer. He quickly glanced over at my group of friends, smiled and led us through. Small venue, lightly decorated, men on men porn action playing on the plasma tv screens from the bar area, enough seating arrangements, and well played music? Yeah it was the kind of spot we were looking for.A handful of older men....we felt out of place. However, we stayed anyway because of the cheap drinks!! 4 cups of cherry vodka mixed with red bull or tonic soda, sex on the beach, and beer, everything came out to a total of less than $15!! Yippee!! This spot is a gem if you ask me. I had a great time hanging out with my friends and cheap drinks in hand.Would I come back? YES!

Very friendly and fun. Bartender Daven was exceptional. Took very good care of my friends and I even though it was super busy. Plus, he is sooo cute!!!

I got discriminated against for having a shirt with a gun on it. The bartender there feels unsafe around images of guns. This is so anti American its gotta be a CCP meeting location.

Great place to have a beer after brunch. They have shows fri or sat nights. Gets busy so be patient when trying to order. Prices are reasonable. Cash only but they have an atm. Bartenders can be kinda conceited but no offensive. Its sf. But overall nice place. Never had a bad experience.

It was so disappointing, way to crowded and we were charged $5 each “for entrance for the show” and there weren’t no show. It was a competition and it was over by the time we got in. Plus unfortunately for being a local drag queen Elsa Touche was extremely rude, not friendly and not polite at all.

Many different kinds of people. Old, young, big, small, a friendlier version of The mix imo. Good music, cute bartenders, everyone gives welcoming and talkative vibes. Only problem here might be space on a busy weekend

Its hard to explain who goes to The Edge, but that is why I love this bar. Takes all kinds, and theres normally something going on like a drag show, or a beer bust, or a fundraiser of some sort. Go go boys on the bar add to the eye candy. Not a place for fancy drinks, but they pour well and give out tokens for buy one get ones.

I came here on Tuesday for one dollar drinks only to find out they no longer do dollar drinks. My vodka cranberry was $7.5. There is no cover. Im making the best of it. They are doing trivia today.

Bought dinner and drinks this last Sunday and was told my card was declined, so I gave another card. The next day I was called by my bank to confirm said charges. I looked on my statement and the waiter ran my card 3 times and was charged all 3 times, I was also charged on the second card I gave them. I ve tried calling several times and left a voice mail with no reply yet back. My bank told me that a charge at The Edge will put my card on hold for fraud as apparently this has happened to enough of their customers before at this location. If I don t hear back from someone at the edge by tmw I will be filing a fraud charge w my credit card company.

Super friendly bartenders, great music, good clientele and great drinks. Theres always something going on, promos, movies, Musical Mondays, sometimes, Underwear Nights, benefits, drag shows, etc. Alot of FUN !!!

Gay bar popular with the local crowd. Bartenders are friendly. Busy most nights after 8pm. Happy hour every night.

This is my go to place if I want to have a drink or two. Hot and friendly men. Have been coming here since they opened in the early nineties.

The best place to go with friend for a good time, ask about the huge Mason jar cocktails durring happy hour (and I do mean huge!) The bartenders are very friendly and the drinks are cold.

It’s Saturday evening, 10 p.m. Under the guise of a theme evening at 9 p.m., an entrance fee of 7 dollars is required. Still nothing special 1 hour after the start. It smells a bit like a scam
