Used to live just down the street, within skating distance, on park Avenue and Meridian, and i have Been going to Paramount Imports for almost ten years now, and even after being gentrified/priced out of my own home town of San Jose, still, once in a while, ill drive three hours, from where i now live in Placerville, to pickup an American peice from this quaint legendary landmark.Great prices, great, values, great glass, great owners. My dad used to shop here as a kid back im 67 too and is the reason i know this legend exists. Thanks pops.And thank you all, for everything over the Years, Paramount Import.

One of my favorites places to visit when Im in the bay. They have some of the most unique & cool looking pieces. Their prices are not ridiculous either. Also a very friendly & knowledgeable staff.

This is a hidden gem in San Jose. If you want a traditional head/curios shop this is the place. Lighter on books and occult than The Poppy Patch in Central AR, but the exact same feel and atmosphere. Nice people, big store. Spend money at the smaller businesses!

I was so tempted to leave a five-star review, but keeping to my pathos of not giving five stars unless something is truly perfect (which is impossible for humans as we are now) I cannot give it five stars. I would give Paramount 4.9, as it is as close to perfection as youre ever going to get with these types of stores. To be honest doesnt even feel fair to lump Paramount in with them as its just above and beyond comparatively.It really doesnt get better than Paramount. Like their name, the quality of their product and employees is indeed; youd be hard-pressed to find a more fair, down to earth, and humble shop. Theyve been around since the 60s and it shows, whether it be through their hippie era decor, the atmospheric music, the incense, or just the good vibes, they have it all.Most people, like me, probably just come here for the glass (and the employees, too! Especially the doggos), and they definitely dont disappoint. The prices are on point, if not below market, and while the display pieces can be a little brittle (it is expected) their main standard rigs are very durable and well made. They also have quite a stunning selection of accessories and add-ons.I really dont know where to stop so Im going to stop here for sake of reading purposes, but just know if you come here you will not be disappointed; its truly a wonderful world in a niche location that I think more people need to know about.

Always nice to visit. I would think prices were higher here vs. Other pipe shops, but they are not. They probably have what youre looking for, when the other guys dont. Not too mention, it always smells great inside.

I called to see if they had a special item in stock I was looking for. The guy on the phone went out of his way to go through the racks and search for the item I was hoping to find. I was so impressed with how helpful he was, I drove to the store to see for myself what wonderful customer service these guys offer. Although we couldnt find the exact shirt I was looking for (thats understandable, I was looking for something very specific), both of the people working there were so helpful and really tried to satisfy my need/desire. One of the best experiences Ive had in the bay area! You just dont seem to come by people like this anymore in San Jose. They were awesome, and the selection in the store was great. There were a lot of things I wish I could have purchased for myself, but alas, I was there for an unusually sized gift and needed to stay focused. Great store and great staff!

Another one of my favorites. I remember this place when I was a little girl, always wondering what was inside. I finally visited when I was 17 and I was not disappointed. The store and its employees have a great vibe. They have a huge selection of paraphernalia, posters, incense sticks, clothes, Karate/Mary Jane shoes, wall tapestries etc. An awesome, happy hippie store.

The place is absolutely amazing. It may just look like a hole in the wall but once you go in, you realize how much stuff they have there. Sooooo many choices there and the prices are generally pretty good too. The people there are also just great, I absolutely love going there to just walk around and be in the store.

The workers here are always cool and the place is awesome for anything groovy! I highly recommend coming in for a spell, you might find some things that you like.

I discovered this place in the 90s. I was in highschool. I bought my first Janes Addiction poster here, my first Soundgarden Badmotorfinger tape along with tons of incense and old-skool cloth Mary Janes. I also bought a lot of stickers and one of a kind hippie pieces. Upon my return, they still carry the vanilla body oil that I used to buy as a teenager. The smell brings me back to my youthful times. Im so glad that Paramount is still open. Staff is super friendly. They remodeled a little bit which is cool. Thank you Paramount Imports for being you and all that you do. Im so grateful that youre still open and provide a unique place for unique people.

Amazing little shop! You dont find these kinds of places in santa clara county anymore. You have to go all the way to santa cruz to find thos kinda place. Posters, stickers, band t-shirts, gems and crystals plus much more. Staff was very friendly and super helpful.

This is BY FAR the BEST glass shop in San Jose, and Id venture to say California. Not only do they have a huge selection of brands and styles, everyone who works there is amazing. The owner cut me an amazing deal on a brand name water pipe, and threw in a grinder with a value of $25. They are there to help you, not themselves! Everyone should check them out if youre interested in purchasing a glass piece. Ive been back several times, and every time Im even more impressed, Awesome place. 5 stars

They used to seem so uptight when I started vaping. Went back a couple months ago and ome of the owners was in. She gave me a bunch of free juice and was very nice. Now they have a taste test bin where you can try the flavors before buying, yay!The place is looking good after the remodel theyve done and the sales are always good.

A true treasure. I always go in to see my favorite associates. They’ve become like an extension of our family here in the Bay. So happy to see that they are still thriving even during COVID-19. Oh I love this smoke shop/store. They are amazing and sell a lot of really cool things. They sell piercing jewelry and have really nice smelling incense. I bought a vape pen from here and it was worth the money, I only spent $40. They also sell weed pipes , bongs and such. Although they do not sell oil burners.

Well if you are trying to catch this place open the I would come later then 10 am. To come and catch them I would come here by 10:30 or later cause the few visits Ive had to wait past 10:15 to 10:30 before doors are open. But its a good place to come shop for your smoking needs.

Paramount imports seems to never age ive been going there ever since i could remember probably around 25 years and im 33 paramount imports has one of the most chill atmospheres out off any store ive been too. The people that work there Never rush you they have no problem answering your questions and are as patient as monks they give off good energy and the store is full of good energy. Its a great experience. I would recommend going there to anybody that wants some cool stuff rather it be for tort smoking needs or some random stuff such as posters stickers or incense or some good crystals or birthstones its worth checking out thats all I got to say about that

Bad customer service, bought a rig two weeks ago noticed some weird spots on it.Came in to have them explain to me what it was, couldnt explain what the spots were , then they implied I caused the spots, and offered me no explanation or warranty if its faulty..

I been visiting this place since 8th or 9th grade so basically 34 years or so, same great smell, ya got to dig the smell.of this place, makes you at ease and feel like the cartoon Cars character named Fillmore, every thing ya need to enjoy herbs or waxes , clothing and stickers, poster, incense holders and way to much to try to name, . Come check it out, San Joses original smoke house..cant say I been to any better or legit shops.4 star ratings..

This places easy to miss but they have awesome stuff inside they have so many Posters tapestries incense very spiritual and uplifting environment would definitely return back one thing I didnt like the customer service was a bit non existant I took me a while to get some help .

Even retro -70s plastic U.S. Water Pipes and Graffix brandsfor in-destructibles purchased for posterity along with pokers, maeng-da kratom caps and complimentary Paramount Imports lighter was thrown in the grab bag free of charge. Very helpful gentleman behind the counter helped seek out some additional posters as well he thought I might like. An all around , inclusive shopping trip (no pun intended) down to Paramount Imports where quality is tantamount to service. Cheers!

Let this be your VAPE warning!!! It is better just go to the manufacturer when it comes to your vape needs, than to Paramount. Yesterday they all d me an old model Puffco Peak without the puff co atomizer... so now I have to deal with manufacturer to get one, however PuffCo states that Paramount isn’t a credible enough purchaser of their product to be covered through a third person extended warranty ( regardless of paramount being the business for 50 years, go figure). Long story tolerable, I have to buy a new atomizer from the manufacturer for a $200 battery that I purchased yesterday. I never even got to enjoy the thing 😭😭😭

Way more selection than I anticipated. Theres a lot of floor devoted to non glass, so more interesting to browse. This does impact their glass selection a bit, but its still plenty for my tastes, and the variety is interesting.
