Went here to watch the second episode of Rupaul’s drag race (my first time ever watching it - totally enjoyed) with a few friends. I loved how there was a drag commentary before the episode started and also during the commercial breaks. thought it was a cute neighborhood bar. There’s parking spots available, but you just need to be lucky.
Nice place but the most innatentive bartenders. Ever. Mgr...I couldnt find where to respond to your follow up question so hopefully youll find it here. It was our first time (2 of us for a birthday). We arrived at 1:45, looked around, browsed the menu, sat at the draft pour station. The gal working chatted a few minutes, explained the menu, then went to the other end of the bar to mix drinks. Took 20 minutes to get her attention away from mixing specials and pouring her own multiple cups of coffee. Finally got her attention to pull draughts for us. Each refill, we had to wave her down, never once checked on us to offer refills or just to check how things were. Needless to say,it reflected in her loss of tips, of which we are usually very generous. We both work food service and know how it is. Well be back, anyway. There is no place in Port Orchard to go.
Came in to have a nice drink and a bite to eat…ordered a burger and tots and my partner ordered the meatball meal. We also ordered a vodka soda and greyhound, bartender told us they were doubles. Doubles they were not! I watched them make the drinks, and would say not even singles. When the food did come, tots were warm and my cheese burger was cold! I could not believe it, my partner said it feels like it sat there for ten minutes before they brought it out, the cheese was so cold that you could peel it off in one piece……I should have said something but I was hungry…to top it off, when we paid the bill, we were charge $22 for the drinks. So disappointing, spent almost $90 for a burger, meatballs and drinks. The place was not even busy. I will not be back, even for a gay bar, worse to feel taken advantage of. Service was nice and friendly, too bad.
Wood Morning Drag Brunch was AWESOME! I highly reccomend this drag show. The hostess and talent were pleasantly surprising and very good. If you like drag shows in Seattle, this needs to be on your list.
For the remote (from Capitol Hill) location this bar deliveries. Pours are f$&%#ng amazingly huge, and will keep you happy, The food is surprisingly good.
The bartender yelled at me and my girlfriends for going to the bathroom together. God forbid women pee at the same time. Next time don’t yell at women in front of the whole bar
We had a great time and it’s our local bar which makes it even cooler. Last night we watched a movie and had a 4 course meal. I brought my 3 AFAB friends and husband and we had a gay ol time. Everyone working there was super warm and welcoming. It would be great to see more females at this bar.
Great local spot. Very welcoming and inclusive. Drinks and eats are well prepared and the staff are friendly and attentive. Love the variety of theme nights and events. Check out the Sunday drag brunch or drop by for Happy Hour (a personal favorite) mixed crowd that is generally friendly.
So glad this place is back, and their new building is even better than the last one. Happy to see all the different kinds of events. My friends and I had a great time at the bear social on Sunday :)
Always a fun time to be had! The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome and the crowd is a good mix of men of all ages and are always friendly and approachable. Drinks are tasty and they dont skimp on the booze. Try the Bear Juice!
A great place to hang! The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and there is table service. As with any popular place, however, during busy times, expect to wait a bit for table service (or just order at the bar). Lots of calendar events to check out. We haven’t stayed there too late, so I cannot comment on the late night scene, but from what I can tell, it’s a great place with a great vibe. I would happily invite any friends to meet there.
Came here on 1/13 and the bartender took it upon himself to treat his self with additional monies from my bank account. Please make sure you check your account after leaving this establishment.
I really want to love this bar, but I won’t be back. It’s mostly table service, which I truly hate. We received mediocre service at best and our tab was $74 dollars for 3 house gin and tonics, 1 vodka soda, and $5 chips (after 20% tip). That comes out to almost $17 a drink after tip for a basic house drink. Either the tab was off … or the prices are crazy here. At either rate, I won’t be back.
They dont care about the environment. They bend IDs and they make their customers have a higher carbon footprint. Dont go here or you will need to pay a trip to the DMV, waste money, waste environmental resources, just because a bartender couldnt have just said we are denying you service and hand the ID back.
I went to this bar with some friends since I’m visiting from out of town and it was my first bar to visit and I was excited to go to an LGBT atmosphere bar since I’m from Nashville and we don’t have many with that vibe. I wasn’t expecting to get told my ID was fake and I even asked if he was being serious about it and even tried to reassure him that it’s real. The bartender even bent it to where it’s creased now because they said it was too plasticity. I was lucky enough to have my passport with me but the bartender didn’t even seem apologetic about bending my ID and creasing it. I’m not sure if I’m just being too sensitive but he could have scanned it to confirm it was real or ask a coworker for their opinion, but he just bent it and said it’s fake. I probably wouldn’t come back, since it caught me off guard but I know he was just doing his job but there other ways of confirming an ID is real instead of bending it and saying it’s too plasticity.
As a person who often visits the bar alone/ as a individual, who isnt looped in... Its not impossible to be social, but busting into a clique takes a hefty amount of effort. The staff are nice, but people are people. I still say visit. Go enjoy yourself, be happy, say hi to people, be nice to your bartender, and tip in cash if you can. Its a nice look on you.
Not a good experience today. I’ve gone to this bar since they have opened and today was very odd. My group was served by one of the oldest bar tenders and everything seemed ok. We asked to be put on the wait list for patio seating and were told to hold tight. 20-25 minutes later a group walked and were whispered that a table was just cleaned off. They were seated. Not my group on the wait list. 10 minutes later another group walked in and asked for patio seating. “Oh you will need to take a table up top...we’re packed on the patio”. They declined and left. 5 minutes later “Hey do we have tables available? Yeah we do. Like 3 available the bar back stated. So, I find it very interesting that both minority groups didn’t get seated or told otherwise and magically the other groups did. I will return as it’s my favorite local spot but I’ll be mindful of who’s behind the bar.
Great bar with a good outdoor and event space (Loading Dock) in the basement of the building next door. Drinks are great and the food is awesome too! Inside is super cool too! The owners, Nathan and Michael, do a great job to keep the place fun and open to everyone!
Great atmosphere, cozy with a warm neighborhood feel, and bartenders are really nice. Im so happy that there is a cool place to hang out close to home. Cant wait for summer to enjoy their patio. On weekends, it gets packed so bring your patience!
This is a great little neighborhood gay bar. Similar in size to The Eagle on Capitol Hill but with more class. Obviously it is lumberjack themed and is mostly well decorated. Its on two levels and the downstairs is quiet and isolated from the main level which is nice for privacy or if you have anxiety like I do. The place has a nice outdoor drinking area in back. I mostly go there for Karaoke on Tuesday nights when they have Seattles best host who really knows how to set up the sound system so you sound awesome. Its really a nice joint and I really want them to succeed.
Love this place. Came by for White Center Pride and can’t believe they have Velo!!! (my favorite queer, Latin artist) working security at the front door. I’m coming back every week.
I live coming here especially for the first Monday of each month, but tonight (11-6-23) I went to go get a drink at the bar and the bar tender asked for my ID and refused service because it was vertical… this isn’t the first time I’ve been here but it was the first time I was denied service.
Great gay bar in White Center. Fantastic staff, great drinks, fun events. Highly recommend this gay bar over the ones up on cap hill. They have great food and in house made smoked beef jerky. If you enjoy beef jerky the Lumberyards is worth enjoying. Little secret you can also order their food menu items for take out.
The BBQ is good, I wish they had some more options for my friends that cant eat Gluten. The bartenders have always been fun. The place feels rather small when you first come in but with the downstairs and the back area there are lots of places to hang out.
This bar is not welcoming to women, I walked in with two friends as a gay woman and was immediately told my ID was fake and they wouldn’t serve me. They bent my California drivers license until it creased and handed it back staying it was fake. I would not recommend to gay women. Very disappointing.
Great space! Owners that listen to the community and deliver. Wonderful to gave an interior that us filled with colour and lighting. In house smoked meats and cheeses are incredible!Staff is eager to get your order right and will often offer suggestions on what has been recently added to the shelves.
Im rooting for this bar to succeed! I never thought I would see a gay bar in White Center. Its always been a rough trade kind of neighborhood, down to the two adult bookstores and countless bars. The guys who took this chance and opened the bar are definitely forward thinking. Theres a need for this bar in South Park with many of us leaving or left Cap Hill. I have only been once and it was a Wednesday night. I was surprised and glad to see a crowd of about 30 people also there. Support this bar and keep them there for years to come!
As soon as you walk in you feel the electric atmosphere. It is by far one of the most welcoming and comfortable establishments I have been in. The owners Nathan and Michael have brought their A game and it shows in the service, drinks, food and ambiance. The food is delicious and most if not all of the meats are smoked on site. I have had the Cuban sandwich, slaw, mashed potatoes with bacon and all the fixings for a baked potato in a bowl, and today I was introduced to their pork belly Mac n cheese. Yes that’s right pork belly Mac n cheese! It comes with either mild or spicy bbq sauce and it is so good that I’m going right back to order another bowl. Oh and they have homemade beef jerky for a buck!! I love this place and the people in it. Thank you very much for blessing our little community with your fine establishment guys. Anyone wanting a great evening out must check them out. And make sure you check out the artwork downstairs. Classically mastered works of art from wall to wall lol.
West Seattles Iconic LGBTQ bar. Great bartenders, friendly customers and a beautiful outdoor patio. Saturdays you can catch Dolly Madison, doing an amazing weekly drag show. The food is classy af, i personally recommend the Italian meatballs with the mash potatoes
Not impressed and the bartender came off very rude and with a better than you attitude. This was on a Sunday and it was my our first time visiting this establishment. I ordered my vodka, oj, cran, which I was promptly corrected on the name with attitude. Its a Madres, you should know what you drink. I simply stated we live in the south end and usually have to tell the bartender what is in the drink if we call it by name on certain cocktails, to which the bartender responded rather in a huff, Well were not stupid here. I found no humor in his interaction and we had only one drink and promptly departed to our home area where attitudes are kept polite with a focus on customer service.
Its a bar. I dont go out to gay bars often. If I decide to go to one again, this would probably be the one. It is fairly typical of gay bars. Catty guys who make snide looks at people behind their backs, typical of some gay men. And before you start calling me a homophobe, I am gay myself. But have found more sincere friends who arent gay. Was there last night and saw a few times guys made these looks at my friends behind their backs. As far as the bar itself, long and narrow space that makes it hard to get from one end to the other. Music kept going back and forth between 80s new wave and auto tuned club music. VERY annoying. Stick with one or the other. But if you stick with the auto tune, I wont be back.Very uncomfortable bar stools with no backs, which is very bad for back support. And on top of that, not much sitting space at all.
Exactly what this neighborhood needed. Last night (Fri 1/6/18) was a last-minute soft opening, only 2 hours after receiving final permits. Friendly (men and women), Welcoming atmosphere, Delicious food (samples last night) Flirty and Efficient staff. A genuine reflection of the local owners Nathan and Michale.
Great vibes, strong drinks, awesome crowd. One of my favorite spots in White Center!
28.00 for 2 drinks, plus a 4.00 tip=32.00. Nice venue, but refuse those drink prices. Best of luck!
Great karaoke. Very cliquish.
Extremely nice staff and prompt service. Great atmosphere. Music was the perfect volume as to allow conversation with others around.
Ok walked in to order food tonight and never been in this bar before and first time ever I did tell the bartender that I was deciding and I decided to sit down and wanted to order food and a drink the bartender was rude and and ignored me and walked by 3 times. Will not be back the Seattle freeze is for real. Its pretty sad.
Egregious over charging and short changing, $17 for vodka soda, $13 for a Montucky, totally ridiculous.
Nice bar, had the chips and Salsa wasnt very good and the nachos were bad.
The new lumbar yard bar is the biggest in White centerI enjoy going to play Bingo there
Loving the Bear socials on Sundays. Come find a bunch of friendly bears :)
I really enjoy this spot. Would love to see more women in the space although.
Best new find in the Seattle! This place is amazing. The aesthetic are awesome. The staff is sooooo friendly. The food is delicious!
My favorite local queer bar!
Lovely staff. New space is very nice and open
A great space, and the bartenders are great. However, the two times Ive been here its not been very busy.
Great safe space with amazing staff, libations and snacks. Visiting from Portland (again) and plan on coming back!... Woof!
Great chill atmosphere. Definitely a place we will come back to.
Nice place to have a beer and relax. Nice outside area for a beer and downstairs area for some privacy reasons.
My favorite bar 8n the Seattle area.
Relevant music, great drinks... All youd need from a gay bar!
Friendly neighborhood gay bar! Try the bar snacks! They offer larger plates too.
Super service and extremely friendly .good food. Pours a great drink for a good price.
Great atmosphere, great staff, great bar
Food takes forever to arrive after ordering.
I guess I was expecting dancing but there was none. Lots of people bumping onto each other. It was ok.
