We always have a great time at the cuff, but lately there has always just been too few bartenders at special events and the lines to get a drink get a little out of hand! 30-40 minutes for a drink takes time away from enjoying the atmosphere and dancing the night away. Hopefully this is just temporary!
You guys are seriously the most inconsiderate nightclub in the whole city of Seattle. The soundproofing is absolutely insane, and something needs to be done about it. I will be taking this to the city, the governor, and our district representatives to get this complaint heard and hope others continue to do the same until something is achieved.
Absolutely the worst. I live just above it and they just create an environment for nearby people to FORCEFULLY leave this area during their first year lease itself. Loud music without any silencing devices 6 out of 7 days, 4pm to 2am.Impacted my studies for the entire one year I was here.
Rundown 80s vibe. The music and atmosphere felt like we were stuck in the 70/80s the music is so dated it’s not relevant to today’s crowd. The downside is that there aren’t many clubs around the area so of course people still go. But given more options with better music this place would lose a lot of business. The cash cover when you walk in the door is annoying. It’s 2023. Also if you’re going to have a cash cover maybe have an atm before the entrance so the line isn’t being backed up waiting for people to get cash to proceed.GET BETTER DJs. Play music people actually enjoy.
The Cuffs Kitchen has gotten so good over the last few years I actually stop by to eat here over actual restaurants in the area. The Cuffwrap, the fried colloflower, the chicken tacos, even the chicken tenders are better than any bar has rights to have in their kitchen. Please give the kitchen staff a raise! Its also got a great atmosphere and the rest of the staff is so friendly it makes for a great place to hang out, snack, and relax after work. (And party on weekends 😎)
I live in the next building, and the noise from your club is incredibly disruptive. The loud music from Thursday to Monday, between 22:00 and 3:00, makes it impossible for me to sleep, especially with a newborn baby. The lack of soundproofing is unacceptable. I also find the constant loud screams and other disturbances outside unbearable. I will be filing a complaint. Please consider your neighbors and take steps to reduce the noise.
The Cuff Complex is an absolute nightmare. They play extremely loud music all week long, accompanied by loud, inadequate screams. It’s impossible to sleep at night because of all this noise. To make matters worse, you can hear people mating outside the building in the corner, which makes it unbearable. This place shows total disrespect to everyone in the vicinity. Avoid it if you value peace and quiet!
Those of us who are living in this neighborhood are truly in hell. No sleep or peace. I’ve lived in many major cities and have never known a club to be so inconsiderate. Counting down the days until my lease it up. They make this part of Capitol Hill uninhabitable.
I heard a circuit remix of James Brown’s “I Feel Good” here tonight. And for the first time I thought to myself, yeah, maybe they should take our rights away.
I love this bar. Strong drinks (too bad I dont drink anymore), free pool/darts/pinball/other games on Mondays and Tuesdays, and fast service when ordering drinks or food. I believe the pool tournament is on Mondays and the dart tournament is on Tuesdays. The dart tournament starts at 7ish, super fun and not really competitive and random picking of partners after each game. They use an automatic handicap for all players so it stays fun and fair. Four games and the top 8 players move onto the finals for another four games of standard cricket and 701 (the finals are singles rather than partners like the last 4 games). It can get pretty busy there on the weekends but it never feels like there isnt enough room, not to me anyway.
I went to Cuff for the first time after hearing absolutely nothing but rave reviews. It is currently 5pm on Sunday October 8th and I felt I had to leave this place. I sashayed in (as I do) had a great conversation with the security guard and bartender. I was impressed with the place and had questions. I ordered a cocktail and went to explore the bar. I come back and the bartender says he doesn’t feel comfortable serving me. He had started making the drink then refused me. As a business owner I like for other business owners to be made aware of when they have low vibrational people hurting their business reputation. As a licensed bartender (podcast host - retailer - Air Force Veteran - among other things) myself I know that some bartenders just like to feel like they have power over people just because they feel so inferior and just because they can. I did nothing wrong. I did not stumble in. I also did not slur my speech. The DJ + security guard (who would not have let me in if I was wasted) can vouch for this. This is negative energy attempting to dim my light and I will not let that happen. I walked to a different gay bar and will go back to Cuff and get a different bartender. 🧡💫✨
Its a nice place with plenty of space to dance and socialize. If u are looking to dance tho, good luck cuz the music just aint it (or maybe not my taste).
I wanted to go in to the cuff and this guy with green mollet told me to get in line . Why not sure I was there fora minute before the line started. You need to respect people who been coming to this place for a while. You lost my business tonight. Sad very sad .
They have a jukebox why are we hearing ads on the music system on the patio. This place has been terrible since the queer bar ppl took over
Fun place, friendly staff and costumers. Best of gay nightlife in Seattle.
This place charges covers for everything every month. They easily cash grab $40 for bearracuda tickets at the door... or $60 to hang out there during pride.. Where is the money going???????
Decent bar (with weekend cover🙄), greasy food, acceptable drinks. They definitely dont open at 4pm lol. Dont try to go before 7 or 8pm, the doors will be locked
This place has gone down hill. Before Covid, I went here and had a good time, but after Covid is an another story since ownership changed and they didn’t change the name after buying this club. We went in January 2023 and the service was okay, but the crowd here just isn’t what we vibe with. However, during pride weekend, we attended and the club was packed to way over capacity. I went outside to get some air and they locked all the doors and didn’t let anyone back in, or out of the club. My husband was texting me that they wouldn’t let anyone out and it was probably one of the scariest things because they did not provide any reasoning, which impacted our health and safety. I feel bad for anyone who did not get in and paid for a weekend pass and I hope they called their bank and reported that they didn’t get what they paid for.I have not returned since pride and don’t have the itch to go here during my free time.
As a tourist, the place is awesome, loved the vibe. Drinks are decently priced. Dancefloor can be fun but... bruh, the same beat all night long, that was quite disappointing.
This place is a scam! I bought 4 tickets to their pride event while standing in line. As we are about 10 people away from the entrance the security guard said the club is closed. They are at capacity and won’t let anyone else in. I explained to the guard that we bought tickets to the event inside. He said we would have to contact management tomorrow for a refund. I have contact 2 people at The Cuff and See Tickets who was the third party selling tickets. Almost 4 weeks now and still no refund! NEVER BUY TICKETS BEFORE ENTERING!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!
Its the Cuff, a pretty iconic gay bar on Capitol Hill. Ive been going off and on for almost a decade and its always been decent. Drinks are good, crowd varies but the regulars are cool.
Purchased a $120 wristband for three days only to not be able to get in at all because the line was first come, first serve... I thought I had been first, since I purchased the 3-day wristband online? Apparently not. I feel scammed and invisible. Doubt Im the only one. I think this will be my last Pride. Its all become a soulless cash-grab anyway. 💔😞
Used to enjoy going, now it feels more like going into some lockdown. Security is great to have, but here they are doing more intense searches of bags than any event i have ever been to. Then they done even check pockets. It is ridiculous.Last night, the Security guy was wandering around the patio with his flashlight shining it in faces, then asking if they were done with drinks and bussing tables. They are also inconsistent in checking id. At the first part of the evening, there was no one checking anything. Then later came the intense bag search, and the pick and chose of who they would check when coming back in from a vape break. This place has really gone down hill. The rest of the normal bar staff is great.I guess the biggest thing is consistency. If you are gonna make ppl take everything out of their bags, you should probably be checking pockets as well... No other gay bar, that i have been to in seattle, is this intense with Security. Makes you feel like something is going to happen there.
As a member of the cap hill community, the loud music on weeknights has gotten out of hand. People have to work and this bar consistently plays loud music past the time bars are supposed to be closed. All the time. As someone who used to go out a lot, I understand clubs and bars but this place has zero respect. It’s gotten out of hand. I’m not sure what can we done, but this place is awful.Update- I filed a complaint with the city of seattle- to other people reading this and feeling the same I am. Hopefully something can be done, & I will update on here!
They oversell their venue then kick people out after midnight. Not worth the money. Rude staff.
The gay club is a vibrant and inclusive space that celebrates diversity and fosters a sense of belonging. The music is fantastic, the atmosphere is electric, and the crowd is filled with positive energy. Its a place where you can dance, be yourself, and connect with like-minded individuals. The staff is friendly and welcoming, ensuring everyone has a great time. Whether youre a regular or visiting for the first time, this club creates unforgettable experiences. Highly recommended for a night of fun, acceptance, and freedom of expression.
Our last visit was pretty short. The site said it was $10 Jock Night, so we got a whole group to go. they all paid the cover, got their wristbands, we headed down to the event room, but it was completely empty. we order drinks, about 2 mins later security walked up with a flashlight and calmly said no jocks showing - anyone in a jock had to keep their pants on. we shrugged and left annoyed. not sure what happened to their Jock Night, but if its not a 2023 Cuff thing they should prob take it off their site x3Bartenders/drinks/food/service are all still great. Not a fan of the music or the tv clips they play recently. Hope they bring the jukebox and the slideshows back sometime, they were fun.
When a bar charges you a door.cover with 11 guests inside the entire complex it reeks desperation.Scott and Tim would.habe never let their bar ascend this far down the gay bar food.chain.10 bucks...with me included 12 guests....disappointment
$36 for two shots… Vegas would be impressed with this pricing. Damn shame, seeing as this bar is suppose to be a safe space for the community. Careful of this predatory pricing, get your libations elsewhere.
This place is great! Really relaxed atmosphere upstairs, great dance floor downstairs. They hold lots of different events including amazing human puppy moshes that are a blast! I was told by a friend they she was turned away once during Pride for not being accompanied by a gay male, but Ive never seen an issue myself with restrictions against women or trans people. Very welcoming environment.
As a long time cap hill resident, cuff complex is a horrible part of the community. This establishment blares music every Wednesday thru Sunday while being surrounded by residential apartments. To others struggling to sleep and keep peace of mind hopefully something can be done!
Okay, lets clear this up. The Cuff is not a trans bar. It is not a lesbian bar. It is not a furry bar nor a drag bar. It is a gay leather bar. Key word being leather. They accept anyone and everyone, but they cater to gay leather crowds predominantly. Keep that in mind if you chose to go here. The staff are friendly and the drinks are priced very well. They dont make weak drinks, and if you think they do, you might have a problem. Youll see people from all walks of life here, and as long as you respect them, you wont have an issue. The lower bar is often loud, as dancing and singing etc... happens down there. Its a bit too loud for me down there. The patio is very nice to casually hang out and have a conversation and a few drinks. The upper bar is great if you want to chat, play pool, darts, or drink and flirt. This bar is not comparable to the other gay bars. Truly one of a kind.
This is a great bar. Its big and has multiple levels and bars, with some inside and outside areas. Very friendly wait staff and a welcoming environment for everyone - you dont have to be into the leather daddy scene to feel welcome and have a good time here. The drinks are strong as well and for a moderate prices. Theres good music too if thats your scene. Definitely recommend.
This place isnt a gay bar anymore... They turned their back on the community, sml moved their memorial wall to CCs, most gays gave it up to the metal detectors and woo girls.. Its a shame.. But paying cover for.. Nothing? Is pointless.
Me being from Wisconsin where we mostly have gay bars and not clubs, it was awesome going to another gay club that was packed with hot guys. The crowd was mellow and music was too chill but everything else was awesome. Bartenders are super friendly and the people at the door are fun to talk to when they are bringing you in.
Its a decent place. Back in January of 2015, before I had a lot of important realizations, I made an *** of myself there at The Cuff and I threw the contents of my drink at a bartender who I thought at the time (I dont anymore) was being really condescending. He probably just didnt want me to play music on the jukebox (like I had in the past) that would turn off the clientele and he didnt know of a decent way to tell me.The bartender and the bouncer told me I wasnt welcome back. I dont blame them, but I hope that someday theyll let me in again.
This used to be the go to bar for gay kink Seattle. Now it’s just like every other gay bar, boring with over priced cover and drinks. You can’t even buy a pitcher of beer anymore.
Such a fun venue! It says its a gay mens club but lesbians and trans are welcome too! There are friends events here, such as fetish nights, leather nights, SEA-PAH socials, puppyplay moshes and more.Check them out if youre in the area for a drink, bar food, or just to meet some fantastic people in a huge space!Theyre open late and have awesome music, a dance floor, so many things.Go already!
This place has been a great time. The cover is only $10 which is worth it for the staff and security they keep in place. This bar is anything you want it to be and the men flock here to dance, drink, harness up and bring the house down. I have been on event nights and not event nights. To get the best bang for your buck go around 11pm the part is started and all bars are usually open. Check your coat for 1$ or your pants for free ;)This is my favorite place to dance and let loose. You wont be sad that you did! Find me out on the dance floor on a Saturday.
A true Mens bar... An actual gay bar in Seattle. Hard to come by anymore. Good music, nice staff usually, good drinks also. Some nights can be younger others can be more leather and older. Fun place!
Probably Seattles biggest gay bar in size. Huge outdoor patio, multiple levels and a big dance floor. Historically The Cuff was a leather bar but its now more just like a leather theme vs an actual leather bar. Strong drinks and good classic bar food. Whether you feel like playing pool, darts or just dance, cuff has a little bit of everything to help you out.
I brought 22 people to this bar and had my ID on my phone as per usual- these guys made me go back to my Airbnb, as a 37 year old, to get my physical I’d… how stupid… I’m clearly 36 and had my digital ID… y’all are dumb
A must visit while youre in Seattle! Especially if youre a bear or their admirers because you feel comfortable at this place. Upstairs is a pull table and downstairs is the dance floor and the outdoor bar. There are fun themes like UNDERBEAR events!!!This is a gay bar for the record! And like I said, more of a bear bar/club-- or certainly not a bar that youre going to be judged for your age, shape/size!
Such a fun place to watch Drag Race on a Friday. The vibe is unpretentious, friendly, and they have plenty of yummy bar food. Get there early, as seats fill up quickly during Covid times.
Classic gay spot in Seattle! The crowd is great on Saturday (good mix of young and older). The dancing is hit or miss because they never have DJs that play songs with lyrics. That’s my only complaint.
A Seattle staple. The cuff encompasses all the sub groups of the gay community.I have my favorites, my friends have their favorites but the cuff has historically been the consistent cross over in which all friends can come together and find something they like.Lets support our local bars and make sure the cuff is around for many years to come! Its certainly the winning place for pride and Ive made a lot of memories there.
Huuuuge! Spent the first half hour exploring the place. Had a great time dancing, playing Pacman and relaxing at a table. Theres enough room to find a place to sit. Drinks were cheap and there are plenty of options, which are all listed right above the bar for easy ordering.
Its a really fun place place to get either a bar (patio) or a club (indoor) vibe. The five stars, however, go for their carnitas tacos. Good carnitas are hard to find in Seattle, and theirs are great.
The staff is great... Multi-level full-bars. A really positive environment for any member of the LGBTQ+ community. This is a long-standing place in Seattle.
Trash bar. Doesn’t know how to enforce CDC regulations. The bartenders act as if you are there for them, has no concept of customer service. Service and customer loyalty is not a priority for this customer.
Went there for jock night, but a few minutes after I got into my jocks they shine a flashlight and tell me no jockstraps. I left quickly after as I obviously was ready to go to jock night, not to whatever this was
Used to be really fun on Sunday nights for “”Disco Vinnie’s” set but now it the sloppy “ bring your drinks on the dance floor and spill for everybody to slip on” crowd.. new ownership has no control over the messy new ones.. sad... An Icon has been ruined...will be missed!
Always a good time to be had at the Cuff. 2 separate areas plus a huge cool patio. Dance floor is one of the biggest. Bar tenders are hot and nice.
Great Karaoke on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Sunday Deca Dance is a must do also. Friendly bartenders and reasonable drink specials
Really? Who requires cash as a cover only? Its 2019 when we were supposed to get hoverboards according to back to the Future. Instead we have Apple and Android pay.... I hope they consider revising their policy...
Thurs 12 September 2019 I went to the Cuff and sat on Dave Campbells stool at the bar. I had a Cranberry Juice and Orange juice to all the Days we spent there. Rest in Peace Dave. You are remembered and missed.
Great bar with up to 4 serving stations so never hard to get a drink or food even when packed. Great music and dance floor. One of my favorite leather bars.
Went on a Saturday, edm night till 3ish. Super strong drinks, nice service, amazing music, fun scene, shirts off yass, girlfriend wing women allowed. Hope to go again!!
The Cuff is HELLA antagonistic toward transgender people. Got kicked out by The Cuff manager, Jose, and his security minions who enforced trans-antagonistic Liquor Board policy. Then, I politely asked for a refund and before even refusing me the refund, Jose called the cops on me. Apparently the biggest threat to gay bars is 51 trans gays dancing topless ON UNDERWEAR NIGHT and requesting to have a simple conversation with management.
Nice club
This is by far the best night club/Dance club in Seattle, Excellent staff and Batenders there to provide you with a night of Fun. This is also one of the best Gay clubs in Seattle as well, and is known to be the Premire leather club as well..
Love this bar/club.Very mixed for mostly guys only.Good staff and dance area.Great all year round....but summer is best with the outdoor patio 😎
An old school example pot what a mens bar should be. A definite mix of all types guys can be found enjoying nice strong drink and singing karaoke during the week, country dancing until 10 on a Friday, or sweating to the driving beat of some of the hottest since music in Seattle for the ready poor the weekend! Home of SMLb (Seattle men in leather) you sure to find the MANS MAN youve always dreamed of!
No more, The Cuff after inappropriate security and behavior tonight, aggressive security against people who did nothing and did not address any issues happening allowed people to act inapropriately. Weak drinks. Weeeeaaaaakkk drinks. Horrible horrible horrible. Rplace, Madison Pub, The Eagle, Neighbours, anywhere but here. Game over for this sad place.
Three bartenders on a Saturday night? Awful
Great people and service. Jimmy Im is an awesome barback, bar tender and waiter all in one. Good weekend events too. One of the more down to earth bars at Cap Hill
I found a nice easy feel here at The Cuff. I used to dance, and had a lot of fun doing it at The Cuff. People are friendly here. They have the best bloody Marys!
Wow! Didnt know this kind of racism still existed in Seattle... my girlfriend handed the bouncer her ID for the after parade party and he laughed and said a black person cant be named Elizabeth. Sooo because you hire under educated losers to work your lines you will never ever have our business.... ever.
Me and my Husband was there last night September 2nd 2018. We went in and charged a $5.00 cover and for a draft beer was $5.00 will never go back and the music was way to load I love load music but that was to load
Drink prices seem high for a beer
Big Venue, Great Dance Music. Gets busy around midnight.Rick the bartender makes strong drinks!
Business hours says it opens at 2pm. Its 2:39 Ive never been here and am from out of town. I drove across town to check this place out and it was closed. 😒 Some guy came out with an attitude saying they opened at 5pm. Welp lost business I guess.
I came in for a quick drink and really helped. Unfortunately COVID really changed the way we visit bars.Great place, great prices.
Epic place, went there with my boyfriend, we had quite the fun, very chill place and fun people around.
The girl and older guy bartenders are very attentive, the guy with a beard was too busy hitting on a customer to notice the rest of the bar.
It was okIt was better back in the dayBefore the new owners took over
Super friendly bar tender, nice easy going atmosphere, and plenty of space for different activities.
Overpriced and there is a cover. With so many other gay bars in the city that don’t cost an arm and a leg, why bother with this place?
Loud outdoor music EVERY evening/night. Cares 0 about the community in which they are located.
Just overall bad experience. Don’t go here and save your money and time.
Pride Fest Seattle @ The Cuff Complex never disappoints! Thank u Cuff staff & Performers.... C-ya next year!!
You dont come here to spend $11 on a vodka soda. You come here to dance. Come dance with us.
This bar is a toss up sometimes it can be good sometime not so great really depends on what is going on at the time.
My fav bar on the hill. Super friendly staff, good prices and a great atmosphere.
Dirty, rude bartenders, overpriced. With so many better spots in the area, dont waste your time.
Cool place and a lot of fun. Felt very welcome despite what other reviews said
$15 dollar cover on Saturdays but it was a fun night.
Best business for fostering great community togetherness and events! Very nice staff and professional!
This is the worst experience I have ever had at a club. I will never come back here. thank you.
Took long time to get our fries.Bar staff was rude af, on a Monday,
Strong drinks and very accommodating for community functions
Queer culture is dead. Come here to meet straight women
Smells like piss all the time….
Only old memories and stories of days gone by keep this place alive. Pretty sad and pathetic hole
Since the change of ownership this is not the same edgy bar it used to be.
First time there. I was pleasantly surprised at the space.
One of the last weird gay places in Seattle
Love it! Patio during summer time is the best!!
Good place to meet-up with friends and community.
Why you so rude to Adore Delano tho?
Good friends and good food and good drinks.
Good people. Strong drinks.
Aweful
Trance music and lots of sweaty Bros
Excellent
I enjoy myself with the locals.
Played pool on the billiards table.
Gay bar and I am also gay.
Awesome place & staff!
Everybody is cool.
The best gay club
